SHE IS THE BEST, IS ALWAYS THERE TO HELP ANYWAY SHE CAN. SHE REALLY WANTS TO SEE HER STUDENTS SUCCEED. SHE WILL GO THE EXTRA MILE TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORK. CLASS IS GREAT I LEARNED SOOO MUCH ABOUT THE HUMAN MIND AND HOW WE THINK. TAKE TAKE TAKE
She gives out a lot of work. It isn't that difficult, but you can't really slack off. You need to come to class or else she'll drop you and come on time. She isn't very clear about the assignments and doesn't explain them. She assumes you know how to do them when sometimes you don't. She was an okay teacher.
She is a great teacher! She is very kind and helpful. I took this course over the summer. Be prepared for a lot of online homework. Can't use notes on the tests. As long as you do the homework you will be fine. You must read the chapters! Also get a head start on the Journal assignment review, it's a 8 page paper in APA format.I recommend this class!
This professor is really bad at managing time and staying on track. There are a lot of assignments, although they are small and seem easy, they accumulate and its really easy to fall behind. Every big assignment/project was clumped into the last month of the semester -- VERY INCONVENIENT. The professor herself is understanding/personable though.
Shes really nice and down to earth and understanding. She can be forgetful and unorganized at times and doesnt really give you a clear idea of what she wants you to do. As long as you do the online work you should be fine.
I loved Professor O. She's a great teacher. If you need help go with the work, just go to her office during her office hours. It is a lot of online work. You just have to manage your time well. I'm a psych major I've taking all the psych courses with her except human sexuality and past each class with A's and B's.
She was not very organized and often times she would come in late to class. As long as you come to the majority of class meetings and read the book you should be fine. There's a lot of work done online and most of the grades aren't inputted until the end of the semester. Stay on top of the assignments or you will fall behind. Tests are really easy.
Nice teacher with a good, loud voice. Very knowledgable. Comprehensible with student. Most of the work is online. Provides study guides for unit tests. Tests are easy if you have been reading and doing the work. Must definitely read to understand terms. Although not punctual, not very organized.
She is unorganized and overreacts when students walk in a couple minutes late. She assigns something then postpones it and then she reassigns it without forewarning.
I have taken prof. O for two classes and For abnormal, personality. Often times she will tell you that you have a test just to come an realize that she has canceled the class or forgot that we had a test. She does know her material well but tend to show alot of videos through which sometime she may be falling asleep.
She is disorganized. She falls behind on grading. None of my work was graded until the end of the sem when grades were due. She gives many assignments, so if you like to check your progress, dont take this class. She will most likely cancel or dismiss the class early wo learning anything because she's seldom prepared. She posts her lectures online
Grades weird! Very unorganized! Not helpful! Not clear on giving instructions! Do not recommend taking her
Interesting professor, she grades late but if you read and do all work you'll pass the class
It was good class, but during videos she was falling asleep but she's a fair teacher
Thie whole semester she was unorganized and expected all students to be tested on material that wasn't covered
Expect pop quizzes! This professor does not lecture. So do not expect it! You read your textbook and do launchpad. You will be confused every time you have class because material from textbook is never covered! If you take this class. Good Luck!
She is AMAZING!! Read your material and you will understand the class reviews she does! I love her way of teaching! She is there for you! Talk to her during her office hours! Don't expect not to read and get a good grade!! I wish I could take her again for child development!! If you don't like lectures but reviews she is the WINNER!! Good luck!
Thanks to this professor I feel comfortable opening up about my schizophrenic brother! She has a different method of teaching. Not your typical professor that lectures. Instead she reviews the chapters you already read. Which will make even more sense & grasp the concepts better! Those who do not read will not know what's going on ;so please read.!
This class is honestly what you make of it. Ms. Ounijan gives a lot of opportunities to pass the class. Obviously if people don't read or come to class they wont pass. Thanks to Ms. Ounijan I had a good experience with my first Psychology class. Also the homework is all online its pretty manageable.
Professor Ounjian was super responsive and helpful and I learned a ton from her class. I took it over the summer so be prepared to do a lot of reading, but the tests aren't too difficult, the discussion questions are pretty interesting and she offers plenty of extra credit/make up work. I would recommend her and definitely take her class again.
She is a good professor but needs to work on her communication. The class is a lot of work. As long you work on the readings and online assignments you'll be fine. The final is a multiple choice exam followed by 4 short answer questions. I took the course online. Worked hard for the A. Taking her again next semester.
I took this class online for the summer where there was a lot less work than normal, but modules are due almost every week. Overall she takes forever to grade and needs to learn how to manage her time and classes better. The access code is also expensive she teaches nothing and you learn more from the internet and yourself than from her.
Prof. O. reviews what you read through pp presentations in class group work. Be ready to do lots of reading & more than the normal amount of hw. Easily agitated if no one participates in class & is unorganized. Does not grade in a timely manner; however she gives extra credit & there's no reason to not pass. You lean more on your own than in class
Unorganized, never grade a assignment, so there is no way to know how you are doing in her class. Still waiting for her to grade my assignmentson and my grade
Good Professor. Not many exams or quizzes. Makes you watch a lot of movies. Extra Credit. Helpful. Would recommend others as well to take her.
Unorganized, all lectures in PP and videos most of the work is in launchpad and is a lot of reading and assignments.
Beware if you are looking for a College Level course. Way too many "creative" projects (creating things from clay; PP's pretending you are a teacher). Every week is full of required long videos that just regurgitate the same info from the book. Really dislike the projects - prefer to write essays/reflections since this is a college course.
I took her class but ended up withdrawing. Although the class seems simple, you sort of teach yourself things. She wants you to read all the chapters (about 40 pages a week) & PP are directly from textbook. She gives her number for you to text her, which is helpful. I just don't retain info by reading a bunch of pages.
Read or you won't pass. Don't expect to know what's going on without reading. This class requires launchpad like any other psych class. Pretty cool, and manageable. Others with bad review on here are salty because they don't like to read. I took her twice!! She knows her stuff. I like that she uses crash course videos as well.
I would recommend taking this class if you are looking for an easy A and need it for general education. This is not meant to prepare you to be a psych major. This class has many modules, online discussions, and group work. She is not very interactive and helpful and you learn more from the Internet than the actual class. Acess code is also $100 :(
I took this class on line and there were DBQ, 2 responses, and 1-2 chapters (reading, questions, and quizzes) assigned each week. There was also a group project which I thought was odd for an oline class. I only used the online Launchpad system which included a digital copy of the book. She rarely graded assignments, email response ok.
Possibly the worst instructor Ive ever had. Online course - 3 syllabuses - all unclear. The class was totally self taught. I learned nothing. She was weeks behind on grading, unclear about exams, requested text as opposed to email communication. There was a term long journal project took a lot of work and I never even received a final grade.
Prof O is nice and easy to reach (via text, very cool) but doesn't care about this class. You teach yourself the material by doing the reading and LaunchPad assignments. Honestly I don't get what the point of coming to class is, she usually just shows videos. She never hands back work. I would not take a class with her again.
You meet for lectures but this class is majority online. She flies by the chapters during her lectures. Shows more movies than teaching. Grades VERY SLOW took almost two weeks until the semester was over to know my final grade. Only reason I got an A is because of quizlet tbh & I dont take Ls lol
I've taken 3 classes with Professor O and loved them all. Yes, you will have to actually read the book and teach yourself since it's an all online course. It is very structured and consistent. I've learned a lot in her classes while maintaining an A. Only complaint would be the midterms and finals. Study guides were not helpful but you will be fine
Sucks that I can't choose more than three things to say about Professor O. and of her class. I love the lectures. I had not done much of my work on-time due to family issues. She's so helpful and gave a great amount of extra credit to make up. Do the work and you will pass. She is very well organized and so understanding.
Dont take this online class if your in classes are hard . This class was the toughest one and its an online class. She assigns too much and you have to teach yourself. I learned all of this in HS .Takes forever to grade. Isnt clear with her assignments. I recommend no one takes this online psych 220.
The hardest online class I've ever took. lots of homework, late on grades and no feedback. Online classes are expected to be difficult, but this class was the hardest. You're in your own figuring out things. The text book was amazing but the case study book was difficult to navigate especially the e-book. It is best not to combine with other class.
The book/class are interesting. Prof. Os online mini lectures and videos are helpful/relevant. However, there is an excessive amount of homework. I would have liked to have spent more time to turn in better quality work vs just trying to keep up with all of the writing. It took forever to get our grades & we received very little feedback.
Really bad teacher took her online and while I understand that online classes are hard she makes it even harder if thats even possible. She grades papers late and also give very bad feedback. Theres way to much discussion like every week there is a discussion.
I took this class along with 3 others. I didnt assume it was going to be easy or anything, but this classes work load was worse than my other 3 classes combined. Back to back discussions, quizzes, portfolios. Shes a really TOUGH grader and puts grades in very late. Overall to me this class wasnt worth the 200$ I spent in textbooks.
This class was pretty easy. You read the chapter, do the assigments, and turn in DBQ. There is one portfolio due instead a final, which was not difficult. She replies to text messages fast. Overall it is an easy class if you do your work each week.
ridiculous amount of work for an online class. Doesnt teach just read out of the ebook. You go through the motions just to turn stuff in on time. When asked for clarification was told to refer to the syllabus. Assigned final project with 3 days left and due after classes were over. Was about a mth after some assignments we finally got a grade. Sux
if you love being overwhelmed, no guidance, writing a lot of papers, last minute projects, and getting grades super late then please take this class... and all for a GE class
Took her for an online class and while I understand summer classes are shorter she grades papers and DBQs very late. It is an online class so if you want guidance you will have to directly message her or ask for help elsewhere. If she has the time to have fast responses to students she should grade at that speed as well.
I took her Psych 128 class online and she was super straight forward about what she is looking for in assignments. Put good effort into them and you will get a good grade. No tests just connect assignments, discussion board posts and a portfolio project. Prompts for assignment were great and engaging. She also gives extra credit
If you have to take Psych 220 as part of a requirement, I highly recommend taking it in person if possible. This is a really difficult class, especially if combined with more classes. I found myself crying at nights because of how much homework I had for this course alone. She assigns homework even during holidays. I'd never take her course again.
Read everything and then read it again. This was a tough online class with a ton of work and strict deadlines. She makes you submit assignments in multiple places and if you miss a spot you will not get any points. In puts grades very late so you have no idea how you are doing in the class. Gives plenty of extra credit if you can find time.
Professor Ounjian is a great professor. I went into the class begin very scared since this was my first online course. I liked every assignment we did even though it was a lot of work. You do have to read a lot and do questions on the book which is very time consuming but if you can manage your time good you'll be fine.
Professor Ounjian is a very tough grader. She likes things to be done her way and if you do not follow through, you will fail. Lots of work required in her class.
Was told she does not take emails and only responds to text messages. Which is not even necessarily true would have to contact her on a few occasions just for a response and would only answer questions days later. Was a super late grader does not care about teaching this class is self taught and you learn nothing.
Does not respond to email, you must text her several times. You must follow the exact prompt, does allow revision on portfolios ( which is 80% of your entire grade) but takes forever to grade them. Takes forever to grade but very easy grader as long as you do APA for everything and follow the prompt which is easy. Definitely a self taught class
I wouldn't recommend taking her classes unless it's for credit. She never taught us a single thing about psych. She just told us to do online homework the entire class. She doesn't like to talk on email for some reason? Take her if you just need to knock some credits out of the way, but if it's just for interest I would choose someone else.
This professor is awfully hard . She expects so much for so little. Everything is done online and very confusing, not mention time consuming! Would not recommend.
Took her psych-130 online course and it was a very simple and straight-forward class. You watch videos, do weekly discussions, and have a few assessments which aren't hard. She allows you to contact her pretty easily, although she does not give much feedback. If you just do the assignments you'll be totally fine.
I took her Psy-2. Her class was straight forward. Online lectures, test, discussions, assignment and extra credits. I did this course accelerated in 6 weeks. It was a lot of assignments but you had to put in the time. Not too hard. Most time consuming is selecting your JA and writing your reviews on it.
Passionate, goes above & beyond, includes links 2 further resources. Knowledgeable about psych. lectures are great/can be retaken before due date to improve grade if you missed a ?. 2 day late ext built into her classes w/ exception of discussion boards. Take office hours she will review work early. I passed 2 of her classes with 103%. Fulltime
For Personality and growth she was very helpful on the portfolio and offered help with revisions as it is also the final. Very amazingly inspirational class, changed my life, helped me learn about myself and grow as a person. Abnormal psych was directed with great lectures and a hands on approach to how a psychologist would encounter the situations
She is amazing! She provides all the reading materials electronically and provides enough and clear instructions on the course. She is also easy to get a hold of she does respond on a timely manner. She is amazing. I would totally take her class again. She group projects are fun.
If you have a busy schedule do not take this class. A lot of the content thought is repetitive, tedious, and time-consuming. She does not teach anything, it's all just prerecorded videos explaining assignments, puzzles, and articles. I honestly can't say I learned anything from multicultural psychology that I did not already know.
Prof Ounjian is okay. Def take this course if you want to get some credits out the way. Relies on textbook and online videos (are very easy) + some discussions. You won't learn much but it's easy work. Accessible outside class via pronto or email. She is very nice.
Professor O was helpful and provided valuable feedback on my work. Remember to take advantage of her willingness to help and use the resources she offers. It's an excellent class. I recognized the expertise of Professor O. As for creating your portfolio, doing it gradually along the way is a thoughtful approach to avoid it becoming overwhelming.
She's a very black & white grader. Must follow ALL instructions or get docked. No reasoning. When reaching out she literally copy pasted her instructions to me as a response, to show the mistake I made. She's not an interactive/understanding teacher that wants her students to succeed, even when u try, she FINDS ways to deduct points on your grade.
I am currently enrolled in her summer class and have been her student before. I will continue to choose her for my future courses because she makes learning enjoyable. Her teaching style is both smart and fun, making complex information easy to understand. I've gained so much from her lectures and interactive playplots. I highly recommend her.
This professor was great. She answers quickly, provides clear instruction and makes the online class extremely flexible. The class discussions, and group projects are a great approach at getting our minds to see different perspectives and expand our network. I would take her class again.
Get ready to work with pronto, edpuzzles, have group assignments and opportunities of extra credit. She has grace periods on some assignments. She is easy going, she responds in a rapid manner.
never taking her classes again
Lots of homework and uncleared instructions
This professor seems to be all over the place when giving instructions on exactly what she wants from you. She gives so called "grace periods" because the assignments, instructions, projects and meetings are so overwhelming. Even worse, the class is asynchronous, but places us in groups to meet synchronous on pronto. I really wish I could drop.
I took this class because it was supposed to be asynchronous but she BUT SHE WANTS ME TO COORDINATE WITH A GROUP OF PEOPLE TO MEET ONLINE does this prof not know what asynchronous means? All of my group members have busy lives hence the reason we took this supposedly asynchronous course we have to take time off work to meet. ugh
I signed up for the online asynchronous class yet she requires you to meet with your assigned group every week at a certain date and time. not a true asynchronous class. lots of assignments every week.
This professor was assigned to me by my counselor and I wish I could go back in time and have myself pick instead. This was an online course yet she still made us do group work, if you're working 6-7 days a week this class is not for you, I learned the hard way. Also her grading is super passive-aggressive.
Not asynchronous, you are required to arrange time to meet with groups and coordinate schedules with 4 other people. The coursework can get overwhelming if you don't stay on top of the schedule. I mainly enjoyed the edpuzzle videos.
If you plan on taking this class and you have a busy schedule, DON'T! This class is listed as being asynchronous, but they forget to mention the group meetings every week. Although a lot of the work is easy, it barely feels like you're learning anything.
Do not take her async class if you actually want it to be async. She has required meetings every few weeks for credit. She is confusing in her lectures, rambles, and is passive aggressive in the unhelpful comments that she puts on asssignments. She is also unresponsive when you reach out for help.
Despite the course being listed as async, she has required group meetings every few weeks. She also assigns a lot of busy work that is not super relevant to the course material, and I didn't learn a lot from her course.
Lost points because in one of her online interactive lectures she asked a question that said “do you want to hear one of my personal examples of this?” with the answers “yes” and “not really.” i picked yes and was incorrect. Like why are you messing with your students, what is the point of your class?
Me and other students are filing complaints to the dean. She marks you wrong for no reason, she has us meet synchronous when it's supposed to be asynchronous for group projects. Meaningless busywork assignments. Do whatever it takes to find a different professor.
Group Projects were 3/10; it depends on your group. I recommend putting your name on your own work if you want the full points and doing the work ahead of time. Besides that, online lectures were solid (Edpuzzle/Playposit); she tests your knowledge throughout the video. Textbook is not required; she shares photos of the pages. No Final Exam.
Prof. O. was so chill! The entire course was set up around 1 big project (Research Portfolio) People in the rates are upset about group work (zoom meetings for 30 min) My group was understanding and accommodating with zoom times - & it literally pertained to the LRP. Not an issue for me but might be for others. Great class and hella insightful!
Literally insane. Ive been in this class for a week and already wish i was underground. Why tf do i have to meet with people in an asyncronys class this is acc insane. I dislike this class more than my biggest opps. Btw the syllabus looks like a baby ate a crayon and then spit it out on a doc. I HATE THIS CLASS.
This professor seemed like she really meant well, BUUUUT she gives way too much work. Her class is too intense for a child development class. She gives you a big project that is very time consuming from start to finish of the course on top of tons of assignment to complete during the week. She also grades harshly. I wouldn't recommend taking her.
I really enjoyed this class! You will have to meet with an assigned group every week but it makes the assignment easier with multiple people. I would just make sure you have time for that before signing up. I enjoyed the lectures and edpuzzles, she has a great sense of humor and talks at a great pace. Easy to get a hold of, leaves good feedback.
CLASS IS DOABLE, however the workload in this class is overwhelming!! I often am completing tasks to finish, not to learn. Mandatory Pronto meetings with others weren't disclosed when enrolling (async btw) and group work can be difficult when others don't participate. For an INTRO psych class, the expectations feel way too excessive.
Asynchronous usually means no meetings, but this class requires recorded Pronto group sessions. Not ideal for anyone with a busy schedule. It's not hard, just overloaded with work to the point I'm going through the motions. Honestly, I put more effort into writing this than the class assignments.
