She gets to the point and likes student input. Book important for inclass assignments. Lets you use a notecard for test and allows extra credit. Just do your work and you should do fine. Also has interesting videos.

Shes a super cool teacher and writes everything on that board thats on the test. therefore if you go to class and take the notes off the board your garanteed an A... i got an A and im a full blown idiot... bleive me its easy AND INTERESTING. She hardly ever requires use of the book and you get to use note cards on the test.

She really cares about her student. Each class has a quiz at the end of the class, but..it's easy... there are few test.. but.. if u are in class... no worries.. extra credit also offered... take her... and ask her if you need assistance... you are in good hand.

Great class and very easy, five tests with no cumulative final, lets you drop the lowest test score. Had her for a 3 hour class and I would usually get out 45 minutes early. Lectures can be boring at times, but overall a good teacher.

I have Ms. Pakula this semester and I must say, I couldnt be happier with this teacher. Last semester I failed Macro and had the worst teacher ever. The class is very structured with 2 hours of lecture followed by an in-class assignment out of the chapter review. If you can take notes off the white board and study effectively you should have no problem getting an "A". There is extra credit available and no notes on the tests as one reviewer wrote.

Greatest teacher ever! Seriously don't know what she did that kept kids from giving her all 5's. Took same class with Prof. Gensler and was confused as hell she made it very easy. Has 3 test and drops the lowest of the three and then a Final. All the test are easy because what is on the homework is what is going to be on the test.

Took her for econ 2 & 4. DEFINITELY TAKE HER! She's SO helpful. The class is very easy, simple discussion boards & quizzes every week and 2-3 tests with short answer questions. Lectures are EXTREMELY clear (both video and text). I don't know how anyone could get less than an A. Will help if you have a special circumstance and missed the deadline.

Took her Econ 2 over the summer and Econ 4 in the fall. VERY easy and helpful teacher. In the summer, discussion boards every week. In the fall, every other week. Quizzes every week and 3 short-answer exams. Do not need the book. Didn't buy it and got As in both classes. Spent maybe 1 hour a week, 3 with the short answer exams, doing classwork.

This online class was an easy A. You have weekly discussions and quizzes that you can easily get As on. The only hard part was the midterm and final but if you study you should be good. She is a really easy grader with the current event essay. She responds to email ASAP. Overall, good class.

The material is not difficult. Make sure to do the readings, score well on the quizzes (MC), and participate in all the discussion boards. The mid-term and final are short answer, but they are very straightforward. I would take this class again.

I liked how her microecon online class did not require a textbook this semester and had assigned online readings. The readings had videos and games that helped me understand the concepts more. There is one paper and a midterm and final that are easy if you read all the assigned material. You can get an A if you participate!

Taking an online class makes it difficult to build a rapport with the professor, but this class was a very positive experience for me. It was by no means an "easy A" and you definitely need to work hard to stay on top of the reading & quizzes, but she replies very quickly to emails and really wants you to succeed. I totally recommend this class!

Took her online Micro Economics class, overall the material she has is very interesting and up to date and you don't have to purchase anything else other than the class which is very nice of her. I took the 8-week Micro course, and it pretty easy to get an A in. She is very nice and understanding about outside circumstances and will extend due dates if needed. One of the most kind and caring Professors I have met. Grading is easy, and the online book required is only $25.00. I'd recommend her for any economics class.

Prof Pakula is a very good teacher. She really cares about her students and if you miss an in class assignment you are able to make it up for full credit. Make sure you go to class because the exams are all based on lecture. She just wants the students to pass the class.

She is really sweet and helpful. The course requires you to purchase an additionally software for $20. Every week there is a module to be completed which includes a DB and a short quiz. The quizzes can be hard if you do not know the material. The midterm/final are essay questions for each of the completed module. The DB she grades easy

The best micro economics professor at Saddleback College. I'm glad that she is the Department Co-Chair. Typically, most micro economics professor are terrible, and cannot teach the subject. Professor Pakula makes economics clear to understand. Her PowerPoints are great, and if you study that, you should be fine with taking her quizzes and exams.

Readings were all provided. You really had to manage your time with the readings and there were weekly discussions and quizzes. It wasn't hard, as long as you kept up with each week. There was a final project that took some time but it wasn't hard to do. She made herself available for questions.

I took her micro class last semester and have to say she is a really solid professor. Unfortunately she had a new teacher working with her as well that she gave all the lectures to so it wasn't too much of her teaching herself. If not for her study guides(which have all of the multiple choice concepts and the short answer questions), this class would've been pretty challenging. Economics can be complicated, but she does an excellent job of making the concepts easier to understand and less complicated for her students. She's a fair grader and it's very easy to get an A.

I took professor pakula for Econ 2 and Econ 4 8 week course online. Mirroring you will have 2 discussion boards a week and 2 quizzes. Quizzes are 10 questions each and multiple choice. Read the textbook pages assigned (free online textbook btw) and you're set. Fair grading. Usual work is 1 discussion board assignment + 2 posts + quiz (2 attempts) a week. Basic amount of work and low-stress class. Would recommend.

I took the online class - as long as you stay on top of deadlines and post regularly to the weekly discussion boards, you'll easily get an A. You're allowed two attempts on quizzes, so if you read the online textbook, you'll do well. Really caring and understanding if you need an extension or have difficulty with a topic.

I took Prof. Pakula's online asynchronous class, as such, I was the one needing to stay on top of my work. Weekly online quizzes and discussion boards are how the class works! Complete your work AND TRUST ME, don't do it at 11 pm the night it's due, I usually do that and had to change my strategy, give yourself time and get an A, put in the effort!

This is the easiest class ever. She's super chill, just doesn't post discussions ahead of time or else shell deletes it lmao but for the most part, everything is super easy.

I had her for PS 11, but couldn't find the tag on here. Best teacher ever. Super organized class, week consists of a discussion and homework assignment. Tests are exactly like the study guide and all of the information can be found in the textbook. She is so kind and provides so much useful feedback and knowledge. 100% recommend.

Easy A and straightforward class. Just read the free online textbook, and follow instructions for the assignments. Professor Pakula is also excellent at getting back to emails, so although there were errors on some quizzes, they were always rectified quickly.

Professor Pakula is wonderful. I took both her ECON2 and 4, one 8 week course, one 16 week course. Plan for a discussion board and quiz every week and 2 for the 8 week course. She doesn't accept late work. There is an online textbook for discussions and quizzes that she provides. And lastly there is a paper due at the end of the semester.

Fun lectures took her for two semesters for both her honors macro and micro classes. She really cares about her students and is respectful of their time. Attendance matters so show up and you will get an A!

One of my favorite classes ive taken so far! I was never really interested in economics but after this class I learned so many interesting concepts. This professor is great at communicating and cares about her students. She is an easy grader as long as you put in the effort. A small amount of work per week with interesting lectrures.

Mostly a straightforward class. The graphing assignments lacked some explanations, but it was easy to communicate to Professor Pakula and get clarification on the assignment. It is an easy A as long as you stay on top of the due dates.

I took Professor Pakula for Econ 4. She was thorough with her lecture on helping you learn how to graph. She has helpful modules. If you read the required module materials, watch her lectures, and study you will get a great grade. Goes above & beyond to help her students succeed. If you aren't strong in econ, she will make you want to learn more.

Amazing classes. Took microecon and international political economy both online. Class is not overwhelming and very possible to get an A. Definitely recommend.

Professor Pakula was amazing! Her class consisted of one quiz and one DB per week, as well as 3 graphing assignments throughout the semester She responds to emails very quickly and is always willing to help. She provides the textbook online, with occasional video lectures. As long as you do the work, you'll get an A in her class.

This was my second course with Professor Pakula. I took Econ 1 Micro and Econ 2 Macro. She is a great professor. Clear details on how to follow her outline and get a good grade. She is helpful with her videos in teaching graphs. She gives great feedback and responds right away to questions. I HIGHLY recommend taking both her courses for 8 weeks.

this class made me switch my major to political science. i love professor pakula because she is so nice. all of the work is due on mondays and wednesdays and it is not time consuming. i personally loved reading about the content. super easy class for GE credit but i recommend taking macroecon before taking this because it emphasizes those topics.

I plan on taking more of her classes. Everything is straightforward and not too much work. Simple assignments and everything is manageable. I wish I put in more effort to study because she truly cares about her students.

I took her for Econ 2 and 4. Weekly quiz on Wednesday. Discussion board post on Monday response on Wednesday. There is a few graphing assignments and one essay. The tests are related to the quizzes. Overall great class and sweet Professor.

Professor Pakula is wonderful. She is organized, fair, and responsive. Everything a well-meaning student should desire from their professor. Her class is designed in such a way, that there is no question as to how to get an A; rather, if you are willing.

Easy class as long as you complete the quizzes(two attempts) and discussion boards(reply to two other students). Assign readings were sometimes pretty long. There's a Current Event essay due at the end of the course. Three exams in total. Professor Pakula shows she passionate about economics and is there to help.

Professor Pakula is wonderful, her lectures are to the point and show you exactly what you need to do. Make sure you participate in the discussions and do all the work and you can get an 'A'. She doesn't offer extra credit so make sure you keep up.

She is passionate about her subject and very knowledgeable. You must pay attention and keep up on your work to pass with an 'A' in her class. She will allow some late work if you ask in advance, but if you fall too far behind you'll regret it. She is an amazing teacher, but she doesn't offer extra credit.

ECON4 in person was a great class to take. 1-2 10-question quizzes with 2 tries per week and 1-2 in-class assignments per week. 3 75-question exams which are easy if you pay attention during the lectures and complete the notes. 1 written assignment that practically spans the entire semester but is only 3 pages long.

Easy Class and enjoyable! Econ 2 was a breeze. Very nice and caring teacher. I will be taking her again for Econ 4. I took Econ 2 online in 8 weeks and it felt very easy, if you are worried about taking it in 8 weeks don't be! Final project was also very easy and I finished it in a day.

Professor Pakula is AMAZING!!!! great lecture, great explanations, always give us feedback, she is so caring about her student, one things about this class is that professor always send us a reminder to make sure we are follow up every assignment, overall, I love her, take her class if you could!

I would recommend taking this professor. Her class is easy to follow and missing a day or two will not greatly affect you if you ask a friend for the notes and assignment. There is a research paper that you work on throughout the course. I recommend printing your notes, the ones she provides are printed very tiny to all fit on one page.

Prof Pakula gives great lectures that truly make you understand the concepts of economics. She allows a cheat sheet on the tests which are really helpful. As long as you stay on top of the assignments and use the study guide its an easy A.

Taking her again for the fall semester and her class is very informative and straightforward with the grading. Be on top of assignments and study for the tests and this class will be beneficial as Business Majors.

Gives 2 attempts on quizzes. No surprises, all quiz and exam materials are covered in the lectures. Highly recommend this class to anyone needing to take Econ 4.

She is unbelievably fast to grade and respond to things. Even when I'd submit or ask something on the weekend, she'd respond in less than half an hour. Love the free online textbook she co-wrote. Super straightforward way to learn microecon without the BS of a traditional lecture-based class that forces you to use an expensive 500 page textbook.

Professor Pakula is a wonderful economics teacher. While the class is lecture-heavy, the material isn't too confusing. I recommend reading outside of class if you don't understand concepts. Required quizzes but aren't monitored, and there are 3 exams. Exam questions are extremely straightforward and she offers notecards on most of them.

my favorite teacher this semester, despite her absence due to illness. really funny and intelligent, makes class super engaging despite the fact that the first half is usually powerpoint lectures, and second half is worksheets. if you have any questions, she is super accepting and open to answer. loved her, would retake. tldr; great teacher & class

took her for Marco/Micro Econ and was the BEST TEACHER I have ever had Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory but I would recommend going She does in class work and lecture notes that she does not show again so make a friend if you are not going to show up one day The class itself is SO EASY as long as you do your work overall great person 10/10!!!

Pakula is a great professor and I would definitely recommend her class. I've taken her for both micro and macro and the class is very simple. Go to class, take notes, and complete any assignment if there is one and they are always really easy. Her quizzes and tests are fair and not hard and the research paper is also very easy.

I took her econ 4 and econ 2H courses back to back, and it was the best decision. I learned so much so quickly due to her efficient lecture style. Just show up, take notes, and you'll do great!

After taking her 8 week micro last semester with a similar course load, I honestly should have taken the full semester for macro. Still an easy A, but I wish I had more time to take in the material. Macro is conceptually way more interesting. But I also spent way more time reading because the textbook chapters were more densely packed than micro.

Great class, very sweet teacher. Assignments are easy, final is an essay which is graded very easy! There is 2 exams around 70 points each MC, not hard. Several mini quizzes, 2 attempts each, 10 questions. DB which are graded on completion and replies. Mini games which are graded on completion. Super easy A!

Great class! You have lectures every class and a few in-person assignments (you can take home). She wants you to succeed and is very caring. Not much homework other than the assignments you don't finish in class. Quizzes are taken at home, and you have two tries. You also have a research paper but you work on it all semester (not bad at all). 10/10

Extremely easy class. 2 Exams, 1 Final, 3 Graphing assignments, and a Current Event Essay (Worked on towards the end of the semester). Workload is very minimal each week, with usually 1 discussion board and 1 quiz EACH week. I actually missed one graphic assignment and still kept my A, so just keep up with the work, and you'll be completely fine!

Great professor, I highly recommend! She is pretty blunt but it is funny. Tests weighed same as assignments which consisted of in class worksheets and simple practice quizzes that allow two tries. I enjoyed this more than my regular macroecon class so I wouldn't be discouraged by it being an honors course.

All Business majors should take Pakula for econ. That's it, don't take anyone else.

I loved this class so much! She responds to emails super fast and goes out of her way to ensure you understand the assignment's criteria. Overall, she is super caring, and the class is super easy. I ended up finishing the whole class a week before the final date.

Took this class Spring 2025 the last 8 weeks. By far a very easy manageable class. Since it is within a short-time frame, expect a good number of assignments per week. However, they are very easy, and she provides great resources and lectures. Highly recommend!

By far the best teacher I've ever had at any level. Super understanding and kind. I had to have a surgery in the middle of my 8 week macro course with her, basically missed an entire month of work due to complications after surgery, and she gave me the most grace I've ever got from any teacher. Would highly recommend her class, she is the best.

I had her for both macro and microeconomics. The way she structures her class allows students to understand and apply concepts. She is very kind and very patient if you do not understand something. If you are not the strongest test taker, there are assignments and open note quizzes that can help your grade. I highly recommend her class!

She is one of my favorite professors. I took her class this semester and I will take Macroeconomics with her next semester, too. Not too much homework and she explains really well. You should take this class.
