She explained things way more complicated way than they needed to be. She lectured based on information from a separate textbook (other than the one that was required for class) so for exams you had to know information from the REAL textbook AND her note

She was very difficult to understand. Also, the assignments were not 'handled' in a professional manner. (The 3 required experiments).

prof peluso is very knowledgable and available to her students. she really cares about her students. its hard to relate when there are so many students.
It's really really boring but it isn't a hard class. I never went or studied for anything and still managed a B. Her tests aren't hard at all.

I have no idea what happened in that class for the entire semester but I somehow managed an "A." Needless to say, she still a horrible teacher
She's pretty boring, but she's also really smart and knowledgable. I enjoyed taking her class.

Dr. Peluso is a bore. She mentions this is her favorite class to teach, so her bromidic lectures came as a surprise. Fortunately, the class is easy, under the condition that you read the text. For someone as professional as her, she offers little insight.
Absolute must take. Friendly, affable person. Great notes that you understand rather than memorize. Tonnes of opportunities for extra credit. Drops lowest exam. Fairly easy exams and projects. Little study time. Smart slackers can get an easy A.

SHE IS AN EXTREMELY NICE PERSON BUT DOESN'T CONNECT THE DOTS, PSYCHOLOGICALLY.HER NOTES ARE Abbreviated AND SHE TALKS SO MUCH,SHE GOES ON AND ON ABOUT A TOPIC,ADDING ON TO HER ABBREVIATED NOTES, INFORMATION NOT FOUND IN THE BOOK.SHE WOULD MAKE A GREAT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER.TAKE SOCIAL PROBLEMS!
If you're decent at studying and show up at some of the clasees, you can still get an A. You will recieve no help from her boring lectures, however.
OMG! This woman is crazy! She's the only one who understands what she is saying, and if by some chance you begin to understand what she is saying, you end up failing her tests anyway. I don't undestand this woman. Yes she is nice, but she is a terrible teacher. Word of advice, don't take this class!
She's a nice teacher. However, she talks so much about things that she never puts on the test and her test are so confusing.
I didn't think her lectures were boring, but you don't have to go anyway. Her notes are all on the internet and her tests are impossible to fail. They are all open book (posted online) and the in-class final is a very clear overview of material learned. SO easy to do well! Needs little study time.
One thing to is key to passing this course. make friends with smart people then dont go to class. Take all your online assessments with your smart new friends and you will never have a problem. The research participation i suggest doing the experiments NOT the essays
Got an A in this class and went only like 3 times the whole semester. Got 8 points of extra credit for going to class one day. final was the only hard test. the rest were online and done w/friends. lectures kinda boring...but cover a lot of material. she doesnt take attendance.i would recommend it.
class is extremely BORING there is no point listening to her u will either fall asleep or get lost, make friends with people to take the online quizzes and just do all the xtra credit, i never paid attention and i still got an A, but if you are looking for an fun class this isnt one

Awesome teacher. I had no interest in psychology before taking her class, and now it's my major. If you're not a slacker like the people who have posted previously, you will appreciate Dr. Peluso's organiztion and willingness to help her students. I totally reccommend her.
SO EASY, all tests are online, 15-20 questions with 2 hours. Interesting class too. She is really nice and helpful. no attendance.

Horrible teacher, class is a joke.
The lecture is very boring. I personally enjoy school very much but this class was just to monotonous for me. She explains the small and obvious things over and over again as though the class is made of morons and ignores the hard stuff. Then when the test comes they are unclear and difficult.
Tests are online except for the final which is cummulative.
If you have half a brain, you can ace this class.. A= 90-100% 70% of grade is quizes you take online 10% is just sitting in a few research studies that take 20 minutes 20% is final exam that she gives an exact study guide, and your allowed to use a cheat sheet Extra 8% just attending.
Good teacher. She explains everything you need to know for the all her online test. Sometimes the class is boring, but other times she has games that are fun for the whole class and it covers the material she is teaching.
SOOOO BORING. SHE WROTE A LETTER TO ALL HER STUDENTS SAYING THAT STUDENTS SHOULD NOT COME TO CLASS IF THEY ARE INTENDING ON SLEEPING. . . AFTER THAT ONLY 30 OUT OF 300 PEOPLE SHOWED UP THE REST OF THE SEMESTER! TRY TO TAKE THIS CLASS FOR ONLY 50 MINS AT A TIME. . . OVERAN HOUR IS JUST TORTURE!
Seriously the easiest class I've ever taken. I went 6 times the entire semester. All assessments are online(80% of grade) and the only thing you actually need to go to is the final(20% of grade). I got an A in the class and I seriously did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. All I have to say is: Ask Jeeves baby!
Loved this teacher. All you have to do to Ace this class is do what you have to do!... all assignments, some extra credit, you don't even have to do great on the exams, b/c those are crazy. Helped me figure out what I need to do to get an A in the class, and I did!
I had her for general psychology she is awesome. You dont have to go to class all tests are online. Notes are even online so its impossible to do bad on the tests. Shes really nice and does a lot of activities in the class to get everyone involved. Highly reccomend this class!
I had her for general psychology. The class is extremely boring, but you would really have to be brain dead, or rediculously lazy to fail her class.
Guys... This woman is a TERRIBLE professor. Her class is impossible to get through without falling asleep. Noone ever shows up for it and if you go, it still doesn't help you on her online quizzes which are WICKED HARD. I thought about majoring in psych because I used to enjoy it so much in HS. After her, I NEVER wanna take another psych class!!

i went to this class twice and got a A. Im not exxagerating. She has all the tests and notes online. As long as you do the assessment reviews then your golden. EASY EASY EASY
i went to class maybe 2 times at most and thats because she gave extra credit if u came to class the one time, all notes are online, dont need them though because you can google all of your online assessments, hey i got an A
Using a specific method I was able to practically ace the class. Aside from that, I always found myself passing out.

I think that she is a good teacher. When I took her class she tried her best to make it interesting. If you don't understand something she will be happy to asist you. I have heard that her teaching strategy has changed but if you STUDY you will do find.
Nice lady but as said she can,t teach really well she knows all the material but presents it like everyone else should know it already. Leaves too much work up to her TAs. I like the clicker thing though best part of the class

Not the best eacher to have. Her class is very boring.Thye online assesments are hard because you have a very short time window to complete it. But look on the bright side she will give you an opportunity to pull your grade up with make up assesments and clicker questions so its ok if you start off rough you can rebound in a hurry.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. she is kinda nice in a weird way but she will make your life miserable. She acts as if just because she has a PhD, she has the rite to teach this subject as if everyone else is going for their PHD. I have classes at the 3000 level that are way easier than this class. Take Janowsky. DO NOT TAKE HER. please!..check ur teachers!
Nice person but hre class is excruciatingly boring it's almost pointless to go to lectures because her notes are very short and abbreviated. Her assesments are hard because thier is really no clear cut answer its more you need to think which answer is the best. Makes it more difficult than necessary. Bottom line is take Janowski for this course.
This class makes anyone go to sleep.....Need a GOOD nap! Than this is the class for you...the only good thing about the class is you can use anything or anyone to help you with the EXAMs. But that doesnt mean you'll get a good grade because the exams are very HARD!

She can be really nice and helpful. Most of the time I felt like I was in High School. The exams are as everyone has said a little bit hard because they're more conceptual than just actual definitions, or material that wasn't really covered during the lectures.
she seems like she is a nice enough person, but the class is not good. it is a really large class and the tests are not really on the material covered. i usually get all a's but this class killed me no matter how hard i studied.

Dr. Peluso is a very nice teacher. Her lectures can be a little boring, but they are very clear. The online test can be tricky but are relatively easy. She gives a ton of extra credit so no one should fail. Even though attendence is not mandatory, it is in your best interest to go because she gives a lot of CPS and its for a grade!
Nice and friendly lady. But the class is boring as hell. The tests are way too hard. It seems like she does her best job to confuse you in just about everything; her grading system doesn't make change, she changes the schedule weekly, misleading test questions etc. Don't take if you like your GPA.
She is VERY nice, and she tries to explain things clearly. This class is HARD, despite what you make think. It's not her fault, she's a good techer, I took this class as an AP class in high school, and i didnt pass the exam. You MUST read the book, and must must must attend class. HARD!! STAY AWAY! on line test are so hard does not reflect the book. very monotone voice. puts you to sleep. her husband is more entertaining! Very nice but not interesting. i clickers are for credit and can hurt you. but does give a lot of extra credit at the end
Very easy class, the quizzes and tests are online and all the answers are in the book, you just have to look for them. However, she is the most REDUNDANT and BORING lecturer... and the I-clicker points count toward your grade so you have to go. She yammers about metaphors, etc and doesn't teach very much, but all you need to know is in your book.
She's a very nice lady, but seriously confuses me with her lectures. Her online tests can be pretty hard if you don't know the material. Make sure you go to the classes because the iclicker points can hurt you.
Pretty boring and confusing, but gives extra credit like candy on Halloween. Take her if you want an easy A, just do all of the extra credit, keep the book and Wikipedia with you when you take the online tests, and do reasonably well on iClicker questions, and you should get an A.
I took this class in high school and FAILED the final. THIS is a HARDD class,the tests & the book don't seem to go together.BUT Dr. Peluso was GREAT.She is there to help you out whenever you need help.Take advantage of it.Its not her,it is strictly,& utterly the psychology class.I passed w/ Dr. Peluso w/ an A!READ the book like if it were the BIBLE
Iclicker questions are as follows:if u answer u get a point even if it is wrong,but if u get it right u get 2 points out of 2.She gives xtra credit like crazy @ the end of the semester.Attendance is important but not required.She gets mad when people leave class after iclicker questions.Tests r online so buy the text book!!
Okay teacher. Class is easy and the material isnt hard but if you dont keep up you can easily fall behind. Sitting in class drove me insane...she took forever to move on to new points and was extremely rude when it came time to ask questions about the class/grading etc.I dont recommend this professor
you must be ready as soon as, or before she enters the room for random quizes. rare extra credit-if any,few points that make no difference anyway. never answers emails. and the most annoyin thing is REQUiRED is you must participate for as a test subject in 3 psych experiments, fill out paperwork and write essays. i heard Jakubow is better!
Really fair teacher. all her quizes and exams (except for final) are online and the answers are right in your textbook. she does iclicker questions, which can range from very easy to hard, so class attendance is mandatory, but she gives out extra credit questions and assignments. Lectures are kinda boring, but i easily passed with a B.
Prof. Peluso is very approachable. However, read the syllabus BEFORE you ask questions on grading (it's in there). All quizzes and the midterm are on blackboard. I-Clicker questions are random. But, she gives ex. credit opportunities (almost) all the time. There is an experiment requirement, but it's the department's, not her's.
Very well spoken teacher. Attendance is important cuz each class she likes to ask iclicker questions. Sometimes they are extra-credit, helps grade in the end. Must read material in the book before going to class each day. Going to S.I. helps with the tests; they are online and multiple choice except for the final. Easy if you study and go to class.
Dr. Peluso will make you fall asleep. Even though her tests are online you must study and read everything, they are not the least bit easy. She is unorganized with the grades. You have to always check them. I had to email her about 20 times no lie. Avoid her at all costs she drags on and on and almost never finishes her lectures on time.
She was pretty good. Sometimes a little boring, but what class isn't? All her tests were online (except the final) and you could use your book and notes. You have to read the chapters though and still study to do good. Just put some effort and show up for class. She also gives alot of extra credit oppurtunities which are very helpful too.
Peluso can't teach for her life, but she gives take home tests, easy iClicker, and an extremely easy final. Only complaint is that she never elaborated on what she meant, and the take home tests had stuff we never covered in the entire class. I recommend her highly!
She seems nice but BORING!!!! She was so boring that I stopped going to school for the last 6 weeks and I still got a B-. The final was soooo easy and we got to write notes on a sheet of paper which made it impossible to fail. Its good for a easy B but it won't peak your interest in Psychology
She is an excellent teacher (one of my favorites). Easy iClicker questions, yet the exams did have a few questions in them on stuff that she had never discussed in class before. Final was extremely easy due to the 2 pages of notes that we are allowed to bring in which can be typed. I used a size 6 font, and managed to fit every note for the class.
Horrible teacher. Nothing she lectures on is on the exams. Nothing in the book relates to the exams. Spends large amounts of time "testing" the class with meaningless things (try to remember this list etc.). Will never take another Psych class because of her again.
I was told that Psychology would be one of my favorite classes. That was false. Truth is, Dr. Peluso's class drags on and is disgustingly boring. She gives alot of extra credit opportunities but the exams are difficult and have nothing to do with what we discuss in class. She can be rude at times. I'd advise to go with another professor.

As head of the department for psychology, you would think she has something to show for it. Lectures are full of info thats not on the exams & she drags them out for 3hrs. Grading system is confusing & you won't know your grade unless you physically talk to her. Can have an attitude at times. Online text book is useless as well. DON'T TAKE PELUSO.
Attendance is mandatory. If you take the 3 hour Tue class of course its long & boring =/ Gives lots or clicker questions so dont leave like the people below did. Tests are online but require lots of searching. Do group assignments, project and your fine i got an A. And she is extremely helpful.
Very nice teacher. In order to get anything out of the class you have to put some time into it. Her exams are okay and but for the final, she allows you to bring two pages of notes. Pay attention to the lectures and do the group assignments and you should be okay. I got a 'A' in the class, but I had to put forth effort to get it. Good luck.
exams are 50% book, 50% lecture; she gives a lot of extra credit; exams are difficult because enough of her lecture material are not on the exams; but attendence is manditory in order to recieve extra credit
Awful and extremely difficult class. Even though your taking the class in person it feels like your taking 1 class in person and 1 online class, tons of work. Group projects are horrible. Mandatory attendance. Very very boring to listen to. If you have to take her however try not to take her 3 hour evening classes. Too boring to tolerate
I took her online course last fall, and despite I thought it was going to be easy--it wasn't. It was a lot of work, but complete all assignments and extra credit and you should do pretty well. She is very good at responding to e-mails and is happy to help you during her office hours.
She made me hate psychology. The group project was a pain and required us to read a lot of psych articles for sources. She is a nice person but a bad teacher.
