Dr. Priestly is one of the best professors in the math department. Spring 04 was her first semester teaching at KSU. She showed practical uses for statistics which really helped in understanding. If you have a chance to take her, do it!
Awesome, awesome, awesome. This woman cares about her students. She gives reasons for her class and is very open to discussion of ways to make it better. She will make you work though...
Take her class. She cares. She will make you work hard...but she wants you to do well.
Dr Preistly is really nice, her class is based on homeworks so do really good on those and on the final project and you are golden. Its not that she is easy, she just explains things really well. Take her, you will love it
Dr. Priestly's awesomeness increases exponentially with respect to t=time
she is sooooo AEWSOME! she definately cares about her students.
She's really nice and tries really hard to make class interesting. Her notes are online, and if you need help she's really willing to meet with you and try to get you to understand the material.
Great teacher. She is always willing to help you learn if you do not understand. She obviously enjoys teaching and makes it possible to enjoy learning a normally boring subject.
I have never met anyone so self-righteous and self-absorbed. She prides herself on being difficult. Her personality is lacking and whoever gave her "hot" was way off base! I've never had a professor IN MY LIFE I disliked so much. She's got "silver-spoon" written all over her!
Boring, boring, boring!! She holds a grudge against students that don't excel in math or that are quite frankly not interested in math. She's such a know-it-all. Her tests are impossible and won't give any extra credit or help. PLEASE!!! take any other teacher! You'll thank me.
I have never met a professor who cares more about her students. She really wants to make sure that you learn the material. She answers emails almost immediately and is very responsive.
Dr. Priestley is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She works really hard to make sure that you understand the material. If you want an easy A...dont take her class. If you want to (or have to) learn Statistics, hers is the class to take.
She likes to be difficult, her tests are impossible, and she moves way too fast in the notes. I'm on a laptop and I can't keep up at all. She's a know-it-all who won't slow down for people who aren't interested in her class or just plain suck at math. Avoid her. I hate the other people who rated her.I chose her because you all gave her good ratings
OMG Great Teacher!...she really works hard to you get it.
Is there really anything more I could ask out of a teacher: homework that is graded on effort not accuracy; kindness and alacrity when responding to questions/emails, gives real world applications of stat usage, and makes you feel like she is available for help at any time. To those who feel she is too fast, stop being lazy, shutup, & listen
I chose this professor based on others' comments on here and I absolutely adored her. I am terrible with math, but she is an awesome teacher. She went over homework problems until everyone understood them. Extremely helpful. It seems so unlikely that someone would give her a bad rating.
Dr. P was a great person and a good prossor. Her tests were HARD especially because there were only 3 of them. If you do all the homework you recieve a 100 as a test grade. Other than the tests, I really enjoyed her class.
NOW THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL HOT!!!!!, smoking at that too. Besides beauty, there is also the brains, also someone who truly cares about her students, she goes out of her way to make sure students get alot from her class sessions, above all one of the best prof,i have ever hard in my life......did i mention she is HOT!!!, yes i said it..
Dr. Priestly is an outstanding professor and she's concerned about her students. She makes certain that the material covered is clear before moving on. Doing the homework is helpful. This is not an easy class, she will make you work! Thanks for the push Dr. Priestly!
Great professor. Provides real world examples of all topics covered and explains why statistics is important to know. Excel is used a lot in this course and Dr. Priestley is patient with students who need extra help or instructions explained again. She is laid back yet professional and even funny, too. You'll like her!
She's great! Excel is used a lot...so if you're not familiar with it, be prepared to get familiar. She's not overly easy but she is very fair. She even helps prepare you for what might be on the test. I dont care too much for statistics~but she made it fun and interesting. She's a sweet wonderful teacher~highly recommend taking her!!!!!
She is amazing! Great teacher and always willing to help. She is interested in her students and their achievement. One of the best math teachers there are. If you can take her for any class, do it!!!
Not an easy class...u gotta do the work to earn your grade. She's passionate about statistics & very willing to help. Attendance isn't mandatory but is highly recommend coz she covers a lot in class. No exams...4 take-home assignments & 1 final project (40%)
Very nice professor but the work is hard. You HAVE to go to class in order to do the assignments. You learn EXCEL, SPSS, Minitab, and SAS and after a while you get tired of coming to class lol. She is a tough grader...but its easy to make it out with an A or B.
Dr. Priestley challenges students to do good work - she makes you redo it if she thinks that you did not try very hard - Thanks Dr. Priestley for making me better than I thought I could be. And...she made statistics actually pretty interesting.
Homework usually doesn't come back on time. If you miss the class she won't even bother to bring it in the next day. You have to wait several hours until it is time for her office hours before you can get it back. I don't even know what my grade is or even if I'm doing the homework right because I don't have the time to wait on her.
First off, She is totally hot and her charisma alone make you want to attend class. I still can't get that Van Halen tune out my head! I am NOT a math major and she made the class very enjoyable. She gives you the text in PDF so there is no cost to the student. She does cover more details in class than the book so it is beneficial that you attend!
DR. Priestly ROX!! Sounds like the person above just got out of high school.. Personally, I suck at math and not taking a math class in 10 years and then taking hers for the first one.. she made it a great experience. Look at her other profile on RatemyProf. She is awesome, very helpful and passionate about teaching
Dr. Priestly is one of the best teachers I have had at KSU. She will help you with anything and does a great job presenting the material. The work isn't difficult but it takes a lot of time. Luckily there are only 4 grades. I would totally take her again.
Very good teacher. Highly recommended. Only assignments, no tests. Does an excellent job explaining what is needed to complete assignments.
This is the most hard working, honest, committed professor I have ever had the priviledge of taking. I learned more from her in one semester than I have learned in two years.
She is an EXCELLENT Teacher...I learned so much...but be aware - she's a conservative and has been drinking Sean Hannity's coolaid.
she is THE BEST professor I have ever taken!! She made me want to work really hard, and pushes her students to do their best. Her grading is pretty difficult and the homeworks are time consuming, but worth it in the end. I loooovveedd Dr. Priestley!!
I was some what over- whlemed with everything in this class. This professor is excellent in helping she came in on her day off and helped. the class is not that bad if you are there everyday and take notes on each program. she makes it fun. Not going to say easy A but can be.
Priestley's great to her pets, else is rudest prof I have had. You get sick of asking her to repeat stuff because she flies thru it so fast. Class has 4 assigns 0 tests, and she grades harshly even after she said she wouldn't. Also marked stuff wrong that was right accord to her very own description. If you haven't been exposed to material already, GOOD LUCK.
Quick and thorough teaching style. Truly concerned about the academic well being of her students. You must earn your grade, but you will also learn something! TAKE HER!!
Outstanding! Prof. that really wants people to learn, and will kindly repeat every statement in more than one way for the students benifit. She moves through things fast but its only because she is really into the topic. Professors like this are a Godsend and really set the bar high for teaching. She clearly isn't in this for her self.
Great Credit Scoring course (Spring '09). Loved the new information and logic involved. Would highly recommend Dr. Priestley as a statistics professor.
She makes you work really hard - but it is worth it in the end. She really wants you to succeed. If you slack off, you will fail.
Dr. Priestly was a absolute pleasure as my professor for Stat 3010. 4 homework assignments with no tests. The HW assignments are pretty lengthy but the textbook (that she wrote) walks you through everything. Extremely helpful. Dr. Priestly is also gorgeous and the prettiest teacher at KSU in my opinion. I wish I was 15yrs older so I could marry her
She does not teach too many classes, but if you get the chance to take her do - she is a rockstar!

She is the most helpful professor I have ever had. She really wants you to learn! And...she is really pretty.
Awesome professor! One of my favorite profs. Not an easy A class, but she will definitely make every possible effort to help you succeed. It is also evident she cares about your overall well-being. Truly a jewel for KSU. Great to see a prof with such passion for subject matter, and student success. Thank you Dr. Priestley! **Hint: Be on time!
This is a great teacher and a great class. I learned more in a semester than I have in three years. And although she is old enough to be my mom, she is really hot.
She makes you work really hard. She demands excellence. It's like an intellectual aerobics class. Best class I ever had. Plus I liked looking at her
Very helpful. If you had AP Stats in high school, this class will be a piece of cake. Alot to do in 4 weeks, but I feel like it's easier than a regular semester. Just keep your cell phone off in class.
All I have to say is...take her if you have the chance. Best teacher ever.
Awesome. Hot. Hard teacher. Learned ALOT.
I have never had a professor who works so hard to make sure that you learn the material. She is a real gem - one of the best around. Take her if you get a chance. She is awesome.
Go to class! Make time to see this professor outside of class. Hands on, not theoretical.
Hard class... have to be very detailed in writing paper... but totally worth it!
Really hard. Totally worth it.
Priestly is amazing. Very hands-on SAS work and explains things clearly and in a way anyone can understand. Projects are time-consuming, but fair. She's interesting in lecture, not boring. Take detailed SAS notes, as her powerpoints are not helpful. And make it a point to be in class! You'll regret if you miss it. Highly recommend her.
She's one of the best professors on campus. She explains things extremely well and will answer any questions. Her lectures are not boring and she is extremely hands-on in SAS. Take detailed SAS notes. Her projects are very time-consuming, but projects are take-home and count as your tests. NEVER miss a class - you'll regret it! Highly recommend her
Greatest professor ever. She really wants you to be successful.
Dr. Priestley is a wonderful teacher. This is class #3 that Ive taken with her and had no problems until now. She seemed to have taken the side of my partner in the class, who was very dishonest about what was going on. Her response to me was cold and unforgiving. Shes a wonderful teacher, but know your partner very well before choosing them
This class alone helped me to get a job. Dr. Priestley's credit scoring course was the greatest capstone experience that any student could ask for. She was incredibly helpful and walked us through a "real world" consulting project. I had multiple companies contact me because of my class project experiences with Dr. Priestley. She is a gift.
This class alone will get you a job. The course is effectively a "real world" analytics project. Several companies ACTUALLY CAME TO CLASS to recruit - its that good. SHE is that good.
Funny teacher. I liked her class, but afterwards I felt she hated me - at which point I was destined to fail. Overall I thought she was okay. She's a little strict, but some teachers just are.
Attendance is a must in her class but she is a very nice teacher. She is very smart so moves quickly through the material. Very willing to help with getting jobs and connections too. Test are short answer and difficult unless you really study though. Don't take her if you want something easy
She is intelligent, helpful, and very funny, but will make you work harder than you have ever worked before. She looks REALLY good.
Greatest professor EVER. You are Missing it if you don't take her class!
Dr. Priestley has this amazing combination of intelligence, humor and beauty. She is every grad student's dream professor. I would ask her out if I could. Instead I will just take every class she offers.
I have never had a more pleasant but challenging professor. She works so hard to make sure that you understand the material. And she is so pretty that sometimes it is distracting.
I learned more from this class than from any class I have every taken. The examples were real, the data was real. She brought in impressive speakers from all over Atlanta. I just wish her skirts were shorter.
This was an online programming course. I think this was her first time teaching it. Sometimes she did not know the answers to our questions, but she always researched the answer and got back to us. Although taking an online class with her is like listening to a super model on the radio - she is very pretty.
Awesome. Real world application of the material. Learned a TON.
She worked hard to make sure that we all got it.
She is a really hard grader but the class is worth it.
Take her class. You will be glad you did.
the class project waS amazing and her knowledge of the material was incredible. I learned more here than in any other course.
I learned more in this class than in any class I have ever taken. She is incredibly intelligent and receives (and deserves) great respect from her students. Her combination of work experience and teaching makes her the "go-to" teacher for all things in Statistics.
The class is amazing - a combination of programming, math and real world real big data. Its applied, not theory. so dont take if you are looking for theoretical stats. And Dr. Priestley is so pretty that its worth going to class just to look at her legs.
Excellent. Clear. Professional. BEST PROF EVER. Super Hot (for her age).
Very practical. Real world assignments. Great experiences.
Dr priestly teaches all applied courses which I really like. I always learn more than what is on the syllabus. Her programming courses are the best
She will teach you more than you ever thought was possible
Don't be fooled by overall quality & level of difficulty. Signed up for class & was introduced to PhD student who'd teach the class. I'm not sure how good a professor she may or may not be because she is never there. 4 lengthy HW assignments, No Tests which is good because unless you already know Stats you'd fail them. 2wks to grade HW. Expect D-
One of the best professors I have had in the stats department! If you run into issues, she will help or find someone who can. She expects all work to be completed professionally and with excellence; you can expect a low grade if you slack off. Two homework assignments, one presentation, and a written report of the presentation.
She is the best professor on campus. She is the go to prof for all things statistics. She can help you get a job. She knows EVERyBODY!
A fabulous professor. You would be fortunate to be able to learn under her!
Very informative and fun.
nice teacher, very sweet but tough grader. please do not take in undergrad
Shes nice-ish as a person but as a professor she has no humility. Some days you come in and her phd student is teaching and its not helpful. During lectures she expects you to just know how to do the math and doesnt take time to explain unless you ask a question. *If majority of your class fails a test its not the students its the professor*
I am not sure what the other STAT1401 reviews were about - She was a great lecturer, her notes were very helpful (and funny), and she made herself available whenever we asked. I thought she was one of the best teachers I have had.
Prof. Priestley is a good professor. Just make sure you come to class because the information can be very heavy. Also, she used examples from the textbook. Make sure you go to her office hours. She gave my class projects, so your grade is depended on those. If you talk to her, she can really help you out.
