The tests can be hard, but just take your notes and study and do well on the in-class assignments and you'll be fine.
Very helpful. She stayed after class several times to explain difficult concepts. Read your book, take notes, stay awake in class. Don't be afraid to ask for help, but make sure you've done your part first. Don't go in cold and expect sympathy.
she is a very good teacher but you do have to do your part. read and keep up. all freshman biology classes cover alot of material so its going to all somewhat hard no matter who you take, but she can teach it so you can understand and she will give you addtional notes if you need help understanding.
The tests are very difficult because she doesn't tell you which information they cover. She gives notes as a guideline, but you have to do a lot of studying on your own. She pretty much expects you to know the stuff up and down.

Very hard teacher. To me it seems like she teaches at a higher level. I had complications with the class due to family illnesses, but I will not be retaking this class from her EVER! You must go to class EVERYDAY!

Very good professor but VERY hard. She gives you some notes but you have to read the book to get all of the information for the tests. Her tests are difficult. You have to go to class every day and pay attention. Do not just rely on her internet notes!
Great teacher....just a hard class.
I would NOT take another class under Regan if I had to. She's an okay teacher, but her tests are WAY too hard for a 100 level class. IF you do take one of her classes, be prepared to study for it hours and hours on end. She makes her tests hard...
Her tests are very hard, but the recitations are easy.
Although many people say that this class is difficult, I did not find this to be true. Some work is required, but as long as you pay attention in class and learn the material you should be fine. Contrary to what people think, the tests are not that hard. College isn't a place for all play -- you do have to work some.l
Dr. Regan was a good teacher. She taught a class that was required for a lot of students; many who have limited science experience. She gave good notes and set them up online ahead of time so you could copy them. She also expected you in class to fill in the blanks on those notes. Very good teacher.
Hard teacher! Pretty much need to have written the textbook to pass her test! Constantly referring to her other schools she has taught at.. Will never take another class from her!!
Regan is awful. I came into this class with a LOVE for A&P and I am changing my major now. She treats this class like it is the only one the students are taking. Her notes are almost useless and test are near impossible. She is on a constant power trip, so you will learn quick that this is her world and we are breathing her air.
Regan really knows her stuff. She teaches pretty well but her tests were so hard! I felt like I knew the material then I would get to the tests and bomb them. She words things different and makes the material even harder. I made stacks of flash cards and studied hard for ever test but never felt like any of it helped. She was good, tests were hard.
Very good teacher. Keeps you interested, but can talk over your head with the material. Doesnt do enough to prepare u for test. Gives soo many notes and then u know never know whats gonna be on a 50 question test with abt 50 pages of notes.
Dr. Regan is one of the hardest teachers I have ever had in my life. I feel like she makes her classes next to impossible. the combined class average of the first two tests is a 65. When there is 200 plus people in the class, and the average is a 65, I think something is wrong. It might not be with the 200 students...

Horrible! She is a very sarcastic woman who prances around her knowledge like she knows it all. She treated us like high school kids and always complained when someone got up. I hate I have to take her next semester for A&P 2 but she's the only A&P teacher so I didn't have a choice.
She definitely knows what she's teaching and wants to pass all of her knowledge onto her students. She expects you to know what she teaches which isn't difficult if you show up and take notes and study the notes she gives. Tests are ok if you pay attention and study ALOT
I made an 80 on my first test. I am still currently in this class.. Her tests are pretty hard but I study like a month in advance so I actually do okay.. I would rather make an A, but I know the class is hard and I am trying so a B is good to me. YOU HAVE TO STUDY AND COME TO CLASS!!
Regan knows her stuff but so hard and thinks its cute to be that ridiculous. DONT TAKE HER!
Dr. Regan is a great teacher and you will definitely learn a lot in her class. Go to class everyday because she will give about two quizzes before each test. Also the tests are easy if you study but if you do not they will be very hard. They are multi choice, fill in the blank, and essay with one bonus essay.
I loved Dr. Regan. She is extremely intelligent and knows how to teach the subject matter. Yes, she does prance around like she knows everything.. but, she does. She has her own way of teaching the course. You'll either have to adapt to it or fail. I'm signed up to take her 252 class.
She is an amazing teacher! I wasn't that interested in anatomy before taking her, but she has changed that. She is a pretty hard teacher with hard tests but thats because she is extremely smart and knows her stuff. Heres a tip for studying: print out the vocabulary she puts online and fil them in, THEN go and make notecards! Study 2 weeks before!
She's hard PERIOD!! She can teach things in a way that may come off as simple, but then the test will be worded in such a confusing way. She thinks A&P is the best and everybody should know A&P backwards and forward. If it was a different professor for A&P I and II I would not be taking her again for A&P II
Dr.Regan knows the information she is teaching and tries to explain in it understandable terms. This is definitely a hard class though. Be prepared to study! And even though she puts notes online, go to class and take notes because the two don't always have the same information. I find that the notes I take in lecture are actually more helpful
Mrs. Regan is a wonderful teacher. You MUST study. She will assist you and her office doors are always open. I earned a "B" in the course. Super easy!
She is abysmal. She lectures like her students are in third grade and gives off the impression that she is above everyone. She takes points off if you leave class. Instead of just letting you get up quietly, she stops lecture to call you out in front of the class. I wish USM had other professors that taught A&P so I didn't have to have her again.
She may be a Great teacher but expects you to know everything that she does. Gives tons of notes and only about a fourth of her test comes from the information she gives you. Quizzes are also very hard. Don't take her if possible. Ridiculous Class.
Dr. Regan makes it clear that she doesn't want to be teaching this class and makes the class boring and miserable. Tests are insanely hard, and I learned nothing from her. I only got a good grade in this class because of a study group I joined outside of class. Dr. Regan is rude and cocky when asked for help. Love A+P but hated this class.
You must study the material to do well in the class. Dr. Regan is very knowledgeable in the subject she teaches. It is not impossible to make an A. She is available during her office hours if assistance is needed.
Run run run far away!! Hardest professor I've had during college. I took her twice. first time i can out the class three points from a D. Second time i came out of the class with two points from a C.I had to change my major because i couldn't receive a "C" in her class. I believe there should be other professors that teach this course.
Dr. Regan's class was SUPER HARD!! I didn't understand where and how she was getting her information for test. (Though she wrote the book for this class). The notes were a waste of time and the book too. Quizzes were wordy and were there to trip you up. My quiz average came out an 80 but still received a F. Smh AVOID THIS COURSE AND TEACHER!!
I loved her as a professor. She makes the information clear, tells stories, and gives visual examples to help you relate A&P to everyday life. A&P is a lot of material so YOU HAVE TO STUDY! I printed out the notes online, and used that as a guide for in class. Take detailed notes. Also print out the vocab list and make note cards, makes 100x easier!
A&P is HARD and Dr. Regan doesn't make it any easier. I took her for both A&P 1 and 2 and made a B both times. I went to her office hours every week and went to the study group for over 4 hours a week. I would say I spent over 10 hours a week studying for this class. I think she should offer extra credit because of how hard it is to make an A.
A&P is a really hard class. I think Dr. Regan does a really good job of presenting the material. No matter who the professor is, it is going to be a difficult class. I thought that she really tried to make everything interesting
Her class is really hard, but if you stick with it, it will really help you in the future. She understands what she teaches, and it is clear and thorough.
You have to study a lot because it is challenging, but if you work hard, you can do it! She is a great teacher!
Anatomy and Physiology is a tough class! But Dr. Regan makes the subject matter much easier to understand. As a kinestetic learner herself, she comes up with creative ways to help you remember the difficult material. Her notes and lectures will make you a genius in A&P! Regan To The Top.
Dr. Regan is a pretty cool prof overall. If read the chapters, actually pay attention and do the LearnSmarts, and take notes you are bound to make an A in her class. The only thing that bothers me about her, is she gives you an idea of how the test is going to be and then it's a different thing on test day. Therefore, KNOW THE MATERIAL!
Dr. Regan really knows what she is talking about, and she can explain herself fairly easily. Be prepared to study. Its a tough class and the notes and book are needed. Dr. Regan tells you how the test is going to be, but come test day it is always different. She focuses more on the physiology.
Dr. Regan is the ONLY Human A&P teacher so you can't avoid her! She's not that bad, but she teaches A&P as if you're expected to already know the material. Her lectures are long and she likes to tell stories. Go to her office hours and STUDY for every test.
So for a biology class there is nothing out of the usual. Dr. Regan does assign online homework but it's easy points. Her tests aren't too bad but you WILL HAVE TO STUDY. Don't expect to not show up to class and not study and still pass. She also does occasional group work but it's not as bad as it sounds.
People make Regan out to be worse than she is. You MUST read the textbook and study a lot to pass, but I waited the night before all the tests & got a very high A. She makes silly movie parallels to anatomy, but it helps you remember. She obviously knows a LOT about A&P, & she answers any questions in class. Just don't skip, she remembers if you do
Dr. Regan has high expectations because she wants you to try and participate. Her lectures can only be attained by coming to class, or you read the entire textbook, which would prove useless. She takes time in answering questions and is available to help students during office hours. I went, and was very kind. Go to class, study, and you'll pass.
Such a good teacher, she is my favorite. She is very organized and it is easy to understand the material she teaches. She is reasonable and cares about students; genuine and very down to earth.
I really enjoyed this class. Dr. Regan cares for her students and is willing to help if you ask for it. Go to the tutoring center for lab, it really helps! There is a lot of information to learn in this class, but she makes it easier by explaining it properly. You have to go to class and study your notes to make a good grade, but I ended with an A!
I have only had Dr. Regan for my honors prospectus writing class. I was concerned about her teaching me because she's science and I'm humanities, but she was great! She was really considerate of the different ways that theses are written and laid out exactly what she expected of us as researchers. She didn't hold our hand though which was great.
Very difficult class and the book is most definitely needed. Regan can be really harsh during lecture, so pay attention.
Dr. Regan is a great teacher but you have to make sure you actually pay attention and understand the information or you won't get it.
good teacher but hard tests
very uncaring professor, and gets mad when you do not understand the information, Really wish the school provide another option for A&P
I had Dr. Regan for my Honor's Colloquium class and it was a wonderful experience! She is caring and accepting of others ideas. I would take her class again.
She is tough but you will learn for sure!
If you can, take HAP at a community college. I learned more and actually passed than taking her. She's tough and doesn't break down things clearly. I hated her online lectures and group activities. She hardly ever gives extra credit
Regan depends on style of learning. She just recently switched to online lectures for lecturing and does class activites for class. I didn't think I liked them at first, but they actually did help alot. I really liked the online lecturing because I knew I always had something to reference back too. Her class is hard. Must study. Not Impossible tho
Does NOT teach. This class is VERY hard and boring.
You watch her lectures online and outside of class. During class you do a worksheet and quiz on that lecture. Watching lectures outside of class is very time consuming especially when I have work for other classes. She gives out several different versions of the tests all with completely different questions which is unfair in my opinion.
Dr. Regan is very accessible and understanding! She is very fair and wants all of us to succeed! She knows what she is doing and provides a great learning experience! I have ADHD and have a hard time sitting though auditorium lecture classes but hers is set up so well that I could sit in and actually get things done! Would definitely take again!!!!
All of Dr. Regan's lectures are now online, but she teaches them efficiently. She is strict on cell phone use and attendance. You will have to study a lot for this class, but you can come out with a good grade if you work for it.
The setup of the class itself was good if you have trouble maintaining focus during a typical lecture class. However, Dr. Regan is very dull and uncaring, and comes across pretty rude at the slightest disagreement or inconvenience. Unfortunately, there are no other options at Southern.
Dr. Regan is very rude and uncaring towards her students. her tests are hard and I swear she intentionally tries to trick you on some of the questions. I really wish there was another professor that taught these classes because I cannot stand her
The test are filled with multiple trick questions that appear to be very close to the actual answer. She can be rude and uncaring at most time during her class. During my early years at USM, she was assigned as my academic adviser and I quickly requested a change. Was not helpful in specifying which classes I actually needed for my major.
Human A&P I and II are interesting courses and they're fun to learn about. The only downfall is Dr. Regan is your only option as an instructor. BEWARE! You will have to learn via the book, homework assignments, and group study sessions because she lectures as if you already know the material. I had to retake A&P I and II TWICE!!
This course was taught based on recorded lectures and not actual in class lecturing. Very hard to comprehend materials if you don't keep up with the recorded lectures and take your own notes while listening and reading the chapters.
really cares about how you do and gives you everything you need to succeed. recorded lectures are great but if you dont listen and take notes on them you will fail. material is hard but she makes it easy to understand.
cares so much about how you do. to make an A read from the textbook for every test. shes very easy to talk to and she puts out a lot of things that helps you understand material. her lecture style is amazing and sweetest lady
Dr. Regan is a good teacher and has a great teaching style. However, she is extremely rude and uncaring towards everyone. Her rudeness makes the class miserable.
Dr. Regan is extremely rude and clearly lacks any capacity for empathy. She would often say things that were inconsistent with the syllabus and when I brought up one of these inconsistencies she accused me of being disrespectful and basically gaslighted me. Shell take points away from you if you leave lecture (even to use the restroom).
She cares about your grade not your likelihood. Its not distracting to others if someone gets up its distracting when she stops lecture to tell them they have to stay. one email said (we all deserve a break during covid) but she continued to give us extra assignments we wouldn't have if we met in person. overall rude and uncaring seem right.
Professor Reagan is a really good teacher, as long as you pay attention. She gives an already outlined set of notes for each chapter that you really just have to fill in. She has video lectures for each chapter so you can take notes on your own time before class. However, if you don't watch her lectures you'll have a hard time. Overall, amazing!
Dr. Regan is a really awesome professor. She gives students much help by posting sheets to work on during class that really help for exams. I was nervous taking A&P during COVID-19 but Dr. Regan makes it fun! Relatively short lecture videos but they have all the information you need to do well. Also get ready to read or you will not pass.
one of the worst professors I have ever had. She is very rude and honestly does not care about students. Her teaching skills are horrible, she. just reads slides. Does not answer questions clearly . Test are extremely hard. Class is very time consuming will spend every day working on. it .
Awful teacher. VERY rude and doesnt care about her students. Youd think she would be nice and try to help her students out in any way she can during a PANDEMIC, but she is far from that. She was very rude to me in emails, after I asked for help. Would never take her again.
Dr. Regan is the worst Human Anatomy teacher I have had in my life. She does not care about her students. Being in a pandemic is already stressful enough but she makes it worse. She does not teach or rather explain it in a simple way she talks as if she is talking to her colleagues who know what she is talking about not students.
She is straight forward in her lectures/readings. Her test are tough. If you're great at memorization this class will be okay but if memorization isn't your thing good luck. I asked for an extension due to circumstances and she said no extensions. I understand they have a right to say no, but she is the only professor who said no to the extension.
Dr. Regan's class is extremely difficult, but if you bust your ass and take notes on BOTH her lectures and the textbook, you will get a B. However, do not plan on this being easy by any means because this class takes lots of effort. Also, beware of exam due dates b/c there are no exceptions for any reason to get an extension.
She makes the course more difficult than necessary. The exams are graded heavy, so it can be tough to pull your grade up. Every time a student emails her, she replies like they are bothering her. Regan doesnt want to work with the students. Its her way & that is final. She refuses to round grades or give beneficial extra credit.
She was quite rude during the semester and her course is unfairly graded. Exams took up most the grade while homework and quizzes were worth 1-5 points, making the exams the most important part. I don't suggest her course unless you think you can handle a lecture and test heavy course with unfair grading.
even if you study and are good at memorization, the tests re set up to trick you and are more difficult than necessary
By far the worst professor I have had. I studied so hard for this class and came out with a C. She is a hard person to work with & is not understanding. She does not work with students at all under any circumstances. The lectures are pointless because most things she covers arent there. Tests are very hard so be prepared. Use her as a last resort!
