She got off to a rough start but has massively improved. If you do all the study guides and understand it the class will be easy. I liked the class, but I usually had to bring a book to keep myself awake, early morning. She's a very nice person though and is very helpful, she's also accomdating to any problems.

She moves very quickly in class, but she goes strait from the book. Class can be boring if you read the chapter before she goes over it in class, but she prepares you for exactly what is on the test. She is young and needs some more experiance, but will be a good teacher to anyone who wants to learn.

Very nice teacher who is willing to help out any student that needs it, but her lack of experience is trully prevelant in her style of teaching. Her lectures are long & boring with alot of notes. Do your self a favor stay up all night reading the chapter 2-3 times the night b4 and sleep through the lecture, you'll do better on the exam.

Young, but a good teacher. She does recommend reading prior to lecture, and I found it helpful to do so. Tests were challenging, but doable. She allows ample opportunity for extra credit both on exams and other chances. Graded class on a curve. Easily approachable for extra assistance. Apply yourself and you will do fine. Fun & challenging !

I loved this course and learned a great deal!! She is fairly young and the class is sometimes slow but if you listen and apply the concepts to your eveyday knowledge then you will do great! I had heard that Richmond was great for Biology, but that is not true for Microbiology! She is SO hard! Although Jennifer may be test heavy she makes up for it in her lecture, labs and study guides. She sets you up for success, and as long as you show up for class, participate and have the will to want to learn, you will pass this class. She shows a great deal of passion towards her profession and that is what makes her a amazing professor.

This teacher is by far the worst I have encountered at MJC, she is judgmental and gives so many lectures and work that you honestly do not have time to fully understand what you learning. She gives weekly exams and gives 4-hour lectures online, along with so much homework and 40 pages of reading from the text weekly. Do not make the mistake I did.

Professor Richmond is wonderful. I took her hybrid class. Labs are fun. All lectures are on canvas. Her lectures cover everything, so don't buy the book. She provides excellent study guides for exams. Study that, and you can get an A easily. There are always extra credit questions on all the exams. Replies to emails promptly.I highly recommend her.

Professor Richmond is a great instructor. The outline of the class and the material learned in class is easy to pick up if you are actively paying attention. Bio116 (depending if you take hybrid) requires you to show up to class/lab prepared with lecture and reading information. As long as you give effort, you'll have success in the class.

AMAZING! she is the nicest bio teacher ever, provides a safe and fun classroom to learn in. There are weekly labs, if you don't finish in class you can take it home as homework. The study guides that she provides are exactly mirrored to the exams. She will always help as long as you ask!! Make sure to always study off the lecture slides.

I took BIO 101 with Professor Richmond this spring- she was amazing! She had a very lighthearted personality that was reflected in the classroom, lab, or one-on-one. Her exams are based on each exam-specific study guide, so I would make sure you have learned that well. If I had the opportunity, I would definitely take from her again.

Taken Fall 22'. Prof. Richmond is the best of the best. Not only is she a kind soul, she is passionate about what she does. She is a brilliant biologist which reflects in her lectures and eagerness to help understand anything you need help with. Her labs are fun, tests are straight forward and simple as long as you do the study guides.

Exam content is based on study guide (which is posted in advance & are based on lecture slides). No labs dropped, attend each one. Has no patience for BS, some extra credit opportunities, and can be a tad impatient at times when she asks for class participation, either because no one responds or the brave one gets it wrong. She's passionate though.

When I messaged this professor about extra credit I was ignored. She continued to post announcements but never got back to my message on canvas about extra credit. I didn't appreciate being ignored, while asking for extra credit. Canvas is one of the places we can contact her on. She has answered every other question I've asked through canvas.

Professor Richmond is very passionate about what she does you can see that for yourself through her captivating lectures and lesson content. She provides great structure and cares about your success in her class. For the average student, I would rate the difficulty of her class an 8/10 but for those who have great study techniques, it's an easy A.

I took this as a hybrid course (lectures online, lab in-person)- and professor Richmond is great! Exams consists of mcqs, matching, identifying structures, and xtra credit written portions. Exams are carbon copies from lectures/notes/study guides! Quizzes done online, and cumulative final- Overall easy class- as long as you pay attention!

Professor Richmond was nice, her lab portion is a workload and she grades very meticulously. Her exams are just like the study guides she puts out on canvas so DO THEM and you'll pass. If there is a low attendance for lecture she will give out pop quizzes. She doesn't drop any of your labs so be sure to attend every one, they are 25% of your grade.

Loved her class! Material can be hard at times but just keep up with studying and do not skip lecture because just reading the slides probably will not make as much sense. Lab reports were the only homework given. Study well for the exams! She writes them based off of the study guide she provides.

Professor Richmond was nice but I had a very difficult time in her class. Mine was hybrid so lectures were all online and they were honestly boring. In person labs were good and fun but most of the tests relied on the information in her lectures and some wasn't even in her lecture. Her study guides were extremely helpful so use those.

She's nice and it's clear she's knowledgeable in the subject, just be aware that she can be picky about written answers. Otherwise, the course isn't too difficult, and as long as you read the slides and do the study guides you'll do fine. Attendance isn't required, but she will only announce quizzes in the lectures and she does not post about them.
