Excellent professor. Would take her again. Come to class, take notes, participate, and youll do well. She gives a few hw's which are not hard at all. Tests are similar to hw and notes from class. SHE IS A PLEASURE TO LOOK AT
Must come to class and take notes in order to pass. Did not look at text to understand. She dumbs down everything for you. Overall very pleasant but must study and attend labs to get good grade.
This professor is the best professor I've ever had. I'm not even a great student either. You won't get a better professor for Econ 205. The textbook is intimidating, but she teaches it at an easier level. She answers all your questions, even if they're the dumbest ones on earth. She'll accommodate you in every way possible.
Extremely hard prof she only helps u afta clas need pass all her exams just to pass the class with a decent grade, gives 2 midterm and a final, exams are hard all short questions with lots of graphing and her review does not seems to help. You need to be a brilliant in economics or need to study hard to pass her classes. Or else she will screw you!
don't think that she's as good as what other people said. I would not recommend her to anyone.
Very effective teacher. She explains things in a way that is understandable. She shouldn't be blamed for the difficulty of the material, which is pretty difficult. It's possible to do really well but you gotta study, which those that don't do well in her class don't do. Recommended
best teacher. no book learn everything in class. test are not difficult, studied for about 2 hours each test 4 for final. do homework it counts and participation is huge. very math based so if u have trouble in calc get good. altho not necessary, suggest taking math 201 but she teaches wat u need to kno for that so not a must. awesome teacher!!!
she draws so many graphs on board but she can't explain then well. she seems nice person but maybe not good at teaching. i am worried about my test.
Don't even make a mistake of taking her, you will be LOST whole semester long. she makes things complicated.
She's not hard. You just have to study and understand math and graphs. Know your calculus.
SHE'S THE BEST!!!
takes simple concepts and over* complicates*, did not use $120 book at all; its useless. only used previous calc and micro knowledge for class. can be incomprehensible for no reason when the class isn't even hard.
This class is hard. You can do well but you have to study or be really smart. Take good notes, don't need book.
Not a good professor for a lecture class. She seems somewhere else when teaching, and is not fully engaged. She doesn't make time to go over the homework thoroughly enough either. The book is not used and the examples she gives in class are not as helpful as they could be. If you can I would recommend another professor.
She explains clear in class, her powerpoint is useful. 2 exams 20%each, and a final 40% with aplia homeworks. Exams usually short answer, final m/c + short answer. It's not hard as long you study.
Very difficult class. Her explanations not help at all. The exams are diffrent from the HW. She made diffrent versions of Final.Don't buy the book she don't use it, everything coming from notes. Not recomend to take her.
By far the wost prof. at QC!!!she will fail you if she wants and her crazy curve that she has still doesnt help alot of people in the class. Her test are extremely hard, it explains why almost everyone fails it. She has no clue what she is saying most of the times and has no clue how to teach.
She's awsome! You gotta want to study tho.
Worst professor I have ever taken. Doesn't know how to teach and her tests are extremely hard, and Nowhere near to what she taught in class.
This class is crazy hard. You need to know ur math really well. If you talk to the prof after class she'll explain things to you.
If u understand what a basic college level course load means then u'll think she's fair and pretty straightforward. As for the rest, u'll think every professor is tough regardless.
She is a great teacher she explains everything with clarity and if you come to class and pay attention its an A. She gives 2 tests and a final all of it is from the notes. Low text book use her tests are not M.C and her final has everything thats not on the first 2 highly recommend her u wont regret it
Go to class, takes notes, and understand what she says. Textbook is useless, since she teaches different stuff from the way the textbook presents the information.
She is a very good professor. I would recommend you all to take her class. No matter what grade you receive its worth taking her class. I am just half way through the semester and I enjoy going to class.
SHE IS EXCELLENT, CLEAR, HELPFUL AND AMAZING.
She is the best. I would recommend you all to take her class. I don't see any defects in her as I am already half way through the semester. She is clear, helpful and motivates students
She does a great job teaching. I've noticed she sometimes has a nervous tone to her voice, stage fright maybe? Regardless of that, if you take notes and study, you'll do well in her class.
Great teacher! Class is somewhat hard, do attend lectures, this is a good base for exams, she explains everything. Recommend!
She's such a great professor. Explains everything very clearly, the material isn't too difficult, especially if you remember your derivatives and partial derivatives from calc. Two exams, a cumulative final and about 6 Aplia HWs. Go to class and take notes. She writes most ideas on the board. You can ace the exams just studying good notes.
Great Professor! Explains everything very clearly. Really makes sure that everyone understands before she moves on. Gives a few homework assignments that are helpful for the tests. Go to class and do the hw. She really wants her students to learn and that's very hard to find in a professor these days. I would definitely take her again.
she is the worst professor. 2 exams and a cumulative final. NO MC or T/F.. All short answers and graphs are insane. 10 aplia homworks. DO NOT take her.
Very hard professor her hw is online and most people get around 40s or 50s on them, so don't think that will bring your grade up.Tests are extremely hard sadly me and a couple of my friends decided we could not pass this class and therefore had to switch majors. Take someone else
I wish she taught more courses at QC! She is a excellent professor. She explains everything very clearly. If you don't do well in her class its better you switch major because she explains it very clearly. Her tests are very straight forward if you go to class and do the homework you should be well prepared for the test from your notes alone.
With no doubt, she is one of the best professor at QC. Her explanation is very clear and she goes through aplia hw in class as well. I really wish she teaches more classes.
Straightforward. No MC or TF questions on exams. You need to know basic calculus but she reviews this at the beginning. Come to class and take notes and you should be just fine. You don't need the textbook
Prof. Roff is super smart! I enjoyed her class very much. You'll def. do well on the exam if you understand the material covered in class. I'd recommend taking good class notes!! Oh and homework is counted towards the final grade and she curves.
Class was supposed to be bearable. Tests are a disaster, wtvr you think you don't need to study will probably show up on test in a harder version of wtvr was done in class. TA graded tests and had absolutely no mercy at all. No multiple choice, all fill in and problem solving. Review sheet that is handed out is like 1 question on test. Good Luck!!
Save yourself. No matter how hard you study you are screwed. The problem is the stuff she teaches in class are are like 1 +1=2 they seem easy but when u get to the test it's 46896xyz •5g/4s. No joke.
She is an awesome professor. Don't listen to the negative comments. You won't find a better professor for Price Theory at QC. She's also smoking hot (for a professor)
Jennifer Roff is a pretty good professor she actually taught quite well the exams where challenging and confusing for the most part but overall if your a hardworking student you will be fine its not science but you do have to prepare really well always do the examples from her slides study all the material and try to understand the depth of all
You have to be on your A game in algebra. Read the book & PPT. Midterms and Final are based on notes. Final is cumulative, so study ALL your notes. If you don't understand something, ask her. She makes the home works hard, so ask for her help; it helps with the exams. Time consuming class, so be careful with other classes that you'll take it with.
Professor Roff was helpful in answering most of my questions for the class. This is a very challenging course where you would need to be as sharp in algebra as possible. Word of advice her online homework assignments are important to do try not to miss more than two of her assignments. They will count towards you final grade.
She's an amazing and kind professor. knows the material really well and tries to help out as much as she could, there are also extra credit assignments for extra points on the midterm. she's such a hottie as well ;)
I AM SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE TAKEN ECON 202 WITH PROFESSOR JENNIFER. WORDS CAN'T EXPLAIN WHAT GOOD OF A PROFESSOR SHE IS. SHE IS NOT ONLY KNOWLEDGABLE BUT ALSO GIVES EXTRA CREDIT WHEN WORK IS DONE AND GIVES TEST REVIEW SHEET WHICH HELPS A LOT. SHE IS THERE FOR THE STUDENTS AND IS VERY UNDERSTANDING. TAKE HER CLASS YOU WON'T REGRET.
Professor write on the board and doesn't emphasize in depth economical computation which appears in all midterms and final. Rush through explanation and class practically has to explain it. Two difficult midterms, homework that are useless for the final and a final extremely hard. Plus you get confused on her lectures that are from other resource.
Really smart and nice professor, though her tests are rough. The most important thing is to take detailed notes, the examples from your notes are most important for tests. Homework isnt helpful. All in all shes a good professor but you really have to work to do well.
I liked this class but it's hard. You have to be good at math. Don't miss class and make sure you take good notes. Overall Pr Roff's super smart and fair though.
Horrible.
She's the best. so smart and nice but you gotta work really hard tho. the material is more advanced than most stuff you see in qc.
Prof Roff is the hardest professor I have ever taken. I have taken 300 level courses that were not as hard as this class. You must go to the lectures to pass the class and to get credit for pop quizzes. The exams are all written and you need to really pay attention and know the material. You must take notes to pass the class. Overall good professor
She grades based on the three tests including the final.
She is the best.
Professor Roff makes this class pretty simple and easy. You have to show up and take notes to know what will be on the test. 2 midterms and 1 final. There are pop quizzes but it's literally one question, which was just done in class. She makes it clear and go over anything if you don't understand. Take this class!
Professor Roff is an awesome professor! Her lectures are very clear and makes the material easy to understand. 2 midterms, & the final. All are short answer, no multiple choice. She also gives pop quizzes here and there, but they are extremely easy. HWs are assigned usually after we finish a chapter, and are done online. Overall a must take for 202
She is though greader. She grade based on exam. Final contain 40% of the grade. Review sheet helps for exam 1 and 2 but final is hard.
Shes the best Economic Professor Ive taken so far . In order to do well in this class make sure your Calculus 1 is really solid , specially with derivatives , AKA rate of change . The whole concept of the class is based on that . I really dont understand the negative comments, just know your calculus 1 and you be FINE .
She is a decent professor. 2 midterms that had some questions from the review which made it easier but her final is extremely hard and worth 40%. You have to really work hard to do well in this class. Another professor could be a move
The first 2 tests were easy because the review sheet helped a lot, BUT the final exam was extremely hard and its worth a big chunk of your grade. The review sheet she gave for the final didn't even help. The questions were so confusing.
The course itself is challenging and includes a lot of graphs and uses the same formulas over and over again. The final counts for the largest portion of your grade and the review sheet was not helpful at all. She is approachable so make sure that you go to office hours so that she can explain the topics better. Study hard and score well on exams!
This course is ONLY a 200 level!!!!! Professor Roff, is extremely professional but she should teach at some 300 or grad level. For some students 202 is an elective. I understand there are calculations and alot of different concepts of graphs. But she has no PP presentation, her writings sucks, writings are all over the place, she can't draw graphs.
Scribbles all over the board in an unorganized fashion. Unable to deliver material clearly. Does not do enough practice problems. Lecture heavy and tough grader. Stay away, protect your GPA.
Enjoyed her class, especially after we began online learning. She seems to care about here students. The homework were easy and same goes for the test. Just pay attention and do the homework.
she is a great professor and caring for her students. its a pretty easy class as long as you pay attention and do the hw. she sometimes gives pop quizes which are pretty easy which is a simple question about the previous class. there is also a review sheet for the test and final. try to participate in her class it can help you out alot.
she is a great professor and i recomend that you take her. she will explain the materials clearly and slowly until you understand it well. there is pop quizzes and it is relatively easy. the pop quizzes are to show that you understand the materials. sometimes she lets us leave like 10 mins early. i say the reading is not neccesary but it does help.
She is really a good professor, her lectures are amazing. 2 midterm and 1 final. She gives few easy pop up quizes, and few homeworks.
she is a great professor! I think she is very knowledgeable just be ready to actually pay attention in class but she's awesome you will learn in her class she makes sure you understand the material!
Hard to get in contact with. Scrap work was required but doesnt help your grade, it only can bring it down if she "doesnt understand" your scrapwork. Made us take a whole midterm online then decides to not count that grade and instead made us write 5 pages as a replacement because of professor paranoia. Avoid
You should avoid this professor, she thinks everyone is a cheater so she decided to give you a 5 page paper as a replacement for the 1st midterm. Then she makes up her own questions and makes it short response. She made it difficult to pass. She says she curves but she doesn't. Avoid this class and take another professor.
Would not take this professor again. Failed to respond to any emails when I reached out asking for help mutliple times. Gave 6 question exams which made it hard to get a good grade if you got 1 question wrong. She graded exams incorrectly and said there would be a curve at the end. There was no curve and she gave me a lower grade than deserved.
This professor was not organized at all. It was hard to get in contact with her. Even though the exams itself were not hard, she graded them incorrectly and said she would fix the grades and give a curve which she didnt. She made it difficult to pass the class and did not offer any help when asked.
The grading Criteria that she gives at the beginning of the course is not concrete and she changes it whenever she wants. Trying to email her? You wont get a response for a while. Avoid at all costs.
This Professor is very unclear. She will say one thing and if youre not keeping tabs 24/7 with her postings youll get served. Its like babysitting a babysitter. Her finals gave me heart problems although few questions you have very limited time to answer and theres no backtracking. She makes it very very hard to pass.
Says shell curve grades but doesnt let you know how she curves or if she curves at all. Getting ahold of her by email is nearly impossible. Puts no effort into teaching. Just reads straight off slides that arent even created by her and gives no explanation.
This prof is terrible, said she would curve, never curved. Never responded to emails. Had 2 miderms and a final. Get one question wrong and your grade drops by a lot. Just do yourself a favor and stay away. If you do take her, good luck, I'll keep you in my prayers cus you gonna need it. I would never stay far away from her as possible.
She is one worst prof at qc. She doesnt cuves. She make the test a lot harder to pass. She is an awaful prof. She doesnt teach properly neither answer our questions right. I would suggest you to not take her if you can.
Unacceptable. She changed the midterms to short answer without making the necessary class adjustments (HW was multiple choice and not enough to prepare you for short answer questions).During the 2nd final for student with exam conflicts, she did not mention a second exam link. We finished the final and 1 hour later she said we had to take it again
Nice lady, pretty laid back with HW, answers emails quickly. However, HWs are way easier than the exams and they don't prepare you for the exam. Found it unfair that on the first midterm there were a couple of cheaters and she decided to make the tests a paper and then the last 2 tests, were more difficult and short response because of the cheaters
Very clear if you listen to her lectures. Explains very well. But it was annoying bec students got caught cheating in the group chat and it made it much harder for the rest of us. Those are prob the students who are so mad. I still did ok.
She is a really nice professor, but she became tough after a lot of students got caught cheating in her class. In terms of her class, it is really easy. You have few online homework assignments, 2 midterms and a cumulative final. But don't worry because she gives out extra credit and curves your overall grade. This class is an easy A
Dont listen to the negative comments, those are probably from idiots that got caught cheating in her class. Shes a really nice professors, her exams are open book. She gives out extra credits and curves your final grade. Its an easy class. I recommend it!
Complete mess of a professor. Had to double check her math for my grade at the end of the semester. Thank god I did or else I wouldve received an incorrect grade. Homeworks dont help with exams
Started out the semester as an absolute gem and then got so childish when students were cheating on her tests she lazily pulled off the internet banks. Proceeded to make her own exams and then have errors on them while she just didn't care. I feel bad for the people who take her class from here on out and I'm sorry that cheaters ruined her for you!
wow people really out here lying I took her class back when the pandemic started and honestly she was a great teacher. it was not that hard to pass as long as you payed attention. the work was reasonable I aint gon lie cuz I was one of em students wit like a bad gpa 1.9. speaking facts ion know why y'all bashing the comments with negativity.
Professor Roff is great and patient in class. She makes sure you understand what she is explaining in her lecture and let you ask questions to clarify your doubts. Graphs on BB can be a little messy, but if you pay attention, you will know what she is talking about. One midterm and one final based on the non-credit HWs. So, do the HW to pass class!
She doesn't teach what she is writing on the board. She just writes stuff on the board without explaining it. 3 exams and each exam is 6 written response questions. All you are graded on. She wont go over what you missed last class or respond to any of your questions outside of class in email. It got so bad that half my class started showing up.
I love this class. It's a real college class that makes you think. She asks a lot of questions, and sometimes gives extra points on the test if you answer right so make sure to pay attention. I have an A so far.
If you want an easy class, take this one. there's 8 hw, she goes over then the day of/after it's due. there's alot of notes so attendance is key but she answers alot of questions during & after class. 3 exams & all are based on the hw. If you just use 50% energy to pay attention in class, skim your notes & understand the hw you'll do fine.
It was a pleasure learning from Professor Roff for this class. Whether it was grammatical errors or theory, her knowledge and advice was really impressive. There are a lot of writing assignments but don't procrastinate it. Pick a topic that interests you since its a long assignment consistently being revised. I highly recommend her for this class.
She is the best of two worlds. She allows you to explore with your own creativity but is not afraid to put the hammer down to guarantee you are doing the right thing. She is super sweet, soft-spoken, and a wonderful human being. This class is about writing and Prof. Roff makes sure you do that very well. I totally recommend her for this course.
Great professor. She is very fair with the exams and homeworks. Don't be afraid to take her guys. Just pay some attention in class and you'll be fine.
Avoid her at any cost. She is unfair with the grading. On her other section she gave the whole class free 95 on the final due to she din't show up that day. And on our class she showed up and gave us the final. And graded us based on that. How on earth this is fair. On her other section whole class got free A by not doing anything at all.
Don't take her guys she's unprofessional and kind of seems to be in her own world. She teaches and lectures the whole time but none of it really makes sense. The only way I was able to learn throughout the semester was through other students. These students worded their questions which allowed us to figure out what she was actually trying to say.
She's great if you like econ and are a good student. Lectures are very clear if you listen and are interested. She's also super funny.
Very easy class if you honestly just try. You don't really have to understand what your doing but just memorize the math and graphs. 2 exams were easy plus final which was cumulative so it was only kinda hard bc of that. pop quizzes to make sure you come to class which are worth a good amount and hw assignments that are graded on completion.
It's just a DIFFICULT class, 70% of your grade is based off of 3 difficult tests. 30% with HW which were easy but you NEED TO STUDY. If you aren't ready to put a LOT of effort into studying math and graphs you're not passing. Wouldn't recommend trying to take this with other difficult classes at all otherwise you'll have no free time like at all.
Go to class and take good notes, memorize the graphs and math. Understand how to do the homework, and the exam is basically the homework or an alternate version of the homework that you should be able to answer if you understand the theory. She's a very lenient grader, just make sure you don't skip class like so many others who complained.
**ECON 249** Had this professor for econ stats. Her style of teaching is using the white board, so you need to attend class to understand whats going on. That being said, she is a good teacher. If you understand how to do the problems from class and the review sheet, the exams shouldn't be difficult as its questions you have seen before. Shes fair.
She's very nice but unfortunately her style of teaching was all over the place for me personally. She uses the whiteboard but is jumping around and it gets messy to keep up.
I really liked this class and I really liked this professor. Her lectures were clear, she was always happy to answer questions or go over a topic. The random pop quizzes were super duper easy. You do need to study to do well on the tests but it's all straightforward and she's not trying to trick you.
Professor Roff is a great teacher. She uses the blackboard and doesn't post notes, so attending class is a must. Her exams are fair and based strictly on the lectures and homeworks—no surprises! I took her for ECON 249 and 202 and aced both. If you study well, the exams are super straight forward. She'll curve the final grade if necessary.
She's an ok professor. Unorganized, all over the place and jumping from questions to questions. Her lectures are great but, she scribbles A LOT, so make sure you sit at front or else her handwriting is HARD to read. She does cares about her students.
This Proffesor does not care about her students and class is graded based on 3 superhard exams.
Take her if you want to learn, its hard and she posts nothing. HWs and exams are based off her lectures and you have to pay attention. pop quizzes every other week for attendance, tests are hard but similar to hw which shes reviews in class. basically put in work and go to class. If you want an easy A this aint it.
