I was unsure if political science was for me, but Prof. S makes everything so clear and interesting. Great class

She is a great teacher. Very clear in what she expects in class. All you have to do is read the chapters, show up to class to view slides (which she puts on blackboard) and you will pass the class.

Proffesor S was one of my favorite teachers. Very helpful and imformative. I recomend taking any class that she is teaching. Easy A if you do what she asks which is not a very difficult

Dr. Sayasithsena is an wonderful person to have as your professor. She's very helpful and fair. She's not picky with grading her papers and her exams are really easy if you master the study guide she gives out. The class involves a lot of discussions between students so be prepared. She's one of the best professors I had in NOVA, highly recommend!

Dr. S knows her stuff and she keeps things in prespective and it very neutral in her teaching so its not partisan!Study Guides are key to all exams as they ARE the exams!! It can also be a funny class at times with debating on questions among the students!!Lots of fun and simple!!

Dr. S makes this subject interesting. The exams are taken directly off the study guides. That being said, if you goto every class and study the study guide you will not need to use your textbook. There were 3 exams and 1 paper, all of which are easy to ace if you go to class and pay attention. She is also extremely helpful/funny.

Great teacher! 1 midterm, 1 final (provides study guides) and an ad analysis paper at the end of the semester which is easy & fun. She is a wonderful woman who knows everything she's talking about. She is an awesome teacher! She explains everything very clearly and knows her material. She has an excellent sense of humor that can lighten up a sometimes boring subject. I loved her class! Very easy and she puts all the slides online. We had to analyze 3 articles. She gives you a study guide for their midterm (basically memorize it because its the same). Analyze a political ad paper and the final. She's nice and very easy. Take her!

She is am AMAZING teacher I loved her everything is easy in class she made it so interesting! She gives out study guides for the test and the test has the same exact questions we barley used the book! 4 assignments that are easy 4th is optional and one 3-5 page essay easy A!!

Very nice, smart, and caring teacher. Review guides ensure you know the material on the exams. Classes can get boring if you are not into politics, but not too bad. Overall great class, learned plenty, and as long as you show up, and do the homework should not be a problem getting an A.

I'm going to miss Dr.s S! This was my 4th and final class with her and they do not come any better or any more clear, concise, or consistent than her. All other posts on her grade structure should make it simple enough... DO NOT PASS up a chance to take a PLS class with her if you need it!

Q's are generally taken straight from the study guide & goes over everything before hand. One final project at the end of the semester. Overall, I really loved her class and deff recommend her!

I'd definitely take her again, in fact i am for PLS 212. She has amazing lectures and yes she does take attendance but if you aren't able to make it to class she posts the lecture slides online. She has a few extra credit opportunities throughout the semester and she also drops your lowest homework grade. She gives good feedback and only 2 tests.

Professor S is great. She's so nice, and loves to connect with students. She feels like "one of us." She's a very fair grader and loves her students. She uses lots of great resources to make the class interesting like movies and clips from Tv showsect., but they are all very vaild to the class. She is very qualified for her subject, taking again.

easy A! 3 test and 4 or 5 homework assignments. i enjoyed that she showed us clips, movies and other media in lectures. no need for textbook!! if you get lower than a B in her class something is wrong with you. The study guides are exactly the same questions as the test. go to class, it counts as a grade!

EASY A! But you also learn something. This has been one of the easiest classes I have ever taken at Nova. She's super friendly and helpful. Only have a midterm and final for which she give out study guides for. (THE SAME QUESTIONS) 4 homework assignments in which she tells you what to write about exactly. I enjoyed this teacher. She seems fairly self-aware in knowing that a class on government should be discussed rather than just have an arbitrary amount of tasks. So the actual work is slim, 3-4 assignments per semester. The midterm and final (only tests) are directly derived from the study guides, so there's no real reason to stress there.

Ive always hated politics with a passion, although her class is filled with class discussion, and enough knowledge that even if you didn't know anything about politics, that you'd still understand and pass with an A. Professor Jennifer was by far one of the best professors I have had! She is so interesting that it is hard not to like the subject! She uses a great deal of current relevant materials to help us to learn the subject better! She knows her stuff, enjoys it and truly enjoys helping her students. She makes us work just as hard as being at a 4 year col.

She's a good professor, and a nice person, if a bit impersonal. Her class isn't so hard, but it's informative and worth taking. She actually teaches, instead of making you rely on the textbook for everything, and I think that's a huge point in her favor. Show up to class & pay attention, and you'll do fine! I'd take another class with her for sure.

I took the 16 week (regular) semester course and literally the easiest class ever. During class, she goes over material on powerpoint, which are all up on blackboard. The grade consists of 4 blackboard assignments which is just reading an article and responding to a question. No tests other than midterm and final- exact questions from study guide.

I'm not in politics at all but I had to take this class for a credit and she surprisingly made it easy to understand and follow, And eye candy is a bonus

Professor S sounds like a tough professor when you read her syllabus, but she is one of the best professors I've had at NOVA. She is always there to help you and loves talking about government. If you ever have any questions she is more than willing to help and is super nice. I will take her again for PLS 212.

Ms. S is great! Her study guides are exactly what is on the test and she gives good assignments that are really fun to do. Expect long lectures that can be a little boring but she does her best to make them interesting. Good class participation is key and she is a great lady! Taking 212 with her!

Professor S was absolutely one of my favorite professors. She knows political science isn't considered the most interesting topic to all, but she definitely makes it interesting. Shes funny, kind, & gives study guides for both tests in this class. (only midterm and final.) 4 homework assignments - quick&easy. Very down to earth and understanding.

One mini-autobiography about yourself and one research paper, both graded very easily. There's an attendance sheet every class so be sure to show up. Prof. S is awesome. She follows the syllabus, and IF there are any changes to it she will let everyone know well ahead of time. There is homework every week, but it's very easy. Tests are almost exactly like the study guides she provides. I rarely used my textbook. Do all the work and you'll pass.

I honestly hate political science, but Professor Sayasithsena made the class enjoyable for me. There were few homework assignments and so long as you address all parts of the prompt (in whatever way you wanted to), there is no way you can't get a 100. There are two exams, and they were almost the same as the study guides she posts for them.

Certain teachers you come across and set the tone for what a perfect teacher embodies. She has proven to be the best teacher I have ever had, her lectures are powerpoint but she relates the topics seamlessly to the textbook. There are study guides which look exactly like the tests. I enjoyed her warm personality, and grace.

The exams are literally copy and pasted from the exam study guides. To get a guaranteed 100% A use quizlet and re-type the study guide and just keep studying!

Prof. Sayasithsena is a really cool professor. The class is very easy, as long as you pay attention to the lectures and turn in the assignments on time. Exams are even more so, she gives you a study guide with questions that will be on the exam, word for word. While the textbook is 'required' as said in the syllabus, we never use it in class.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is literally one of the best if not the best professor at Nova. Very clear syllabus that she sticks to, and as long as you study for the tests you'll get an A! She's also very friendly. We need more professors around like her.

Her lectures are all you need to know for your assignments as well as the tests. Her level of teacher is great enough for you to not need a textbook. Also, the short writing assignments are very rudimentary and she only demands your take of the questions. Also, the research paper is fairly difficult, but manageable if you have good time management.

I took her PLS 135 six week course during summer. Shes a great professor, you have three writing assignments, two exams and then the final. Her lectures are really thorough and easy to understand, she responds quickly to your emails, and in general the course is fairly easy if you do your work. I highly recommend her!

Such a nice lady! I took her Zoom course over the summer and really enjoyed her class. She is very respectful to all of her students no matter their political views. All of the discussions in class were very appropriate and everyone was respectful of one another. Her tests and assignments are all super easy as well. Would recommend her!!!

The assignments are very manageable as well. I had her class in the mornings and I didnt mind one bit because of how nice and bubbly she is.

She'll always take the time to answer any questions you have about class, or just politics in general. Even if you don't have to take a PLS class I would recommend her!! Theres five essays but the lowest gets dropped and if you do great on the first four you dont need to do the last. One local meeting summary between 1-2 pages, and she helps you find meetings depending on which jurisdiction you want. Three exams, she gives study guides for each exam and they are exactly like the exam. Take her she is great !!!

Absolutely amazing. Im not a political science major, I was simply just fulfilling a core class requirement. I decided to take political science instead of a boring history class. Professor S made me want to switch majors because of the way she taught her class and how engaged she is with students. She truly is one of the best prof ive ever had.

I do not like American politics but professor S made it fun. Each week there was a discussion due on a video or article she chose. All tests have a study guides and are open note. The tests are the same as the study guide, so it is an easy class. If you need a political science class I highly recommend professor S you won't regret taking her class.

She's an exceptional teacher and she cares so much about her students. She gives good feedback when you write the writing assignments (there are five in total) and the tests are relatively easy. However, you do have to plan out the tests ahead of time because you will run out of time. I cannot recommend her course enough!!

The best thing about this class is that everything on her exams come from the study guide. Its very easy to pass this class! All you have to do is keep up with the homework and quizzes. She made sure to relate what we were learning to current events which made the information more engaging. If I had to take another gov class, I would choose her.

She made sure that she keeps in mind that no everyone in her class is into the subject as much as other who might be majoring in it which I found extremelyyyy helpful as a person who only needed this class for credit.

I took her for 3 of 5 of my political science courses (I'm a poli sci major) and she is THE BEST! Every class had a different grading format based on the assignments that were required for the course but they were all easy to understand. She is very prompt to answer outside of class and is a very fair grader. If you can take her, do it!!

She is my favorite person! She was so kind and a wonderful instructor. She cares about her students. She takes attendance everyday, but I didn't show up a single time for the last three weeks of class (first due to a death in the family, then I just stopped because I had a guaranteed A) and she still gave me a 100% for attendance.

I took Professor Sayasithsena's 6 week summer course and it was a really fun class, I love the way she teaches and makes everything so easy to understand. She's very nice and kind and I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Took this class thinking I was gonna absolutely suffer as I suck at memorizing and am not really into politics. Professor Jennifer provided the class with a great number of resources for study purposes which was a great help for me. Just make sure to attend every class for the credit!

I am really into Political Science and this being my first college course on the matter I was uncertain of what to expect. I now know why her ratings are so high. Her lectures are great and she allows a healthy dialogue in class. Furthermore, she grades relatively well on time and I can see she is passionate about helping her students.

She is the best teacher I have ever had. Caring and amazing, she provides the book and the audiobook for free. You have many opportunities to earn points besides the exams, and she answers emails promptly. you can mark your own attendance during class time. I would definitely take more classes with her, and I strongly recommend her to you.

One of my favorite professors. She basically ensures that her students pass her class. Might get a bit overwhelming with the writing assignments, but other than that, she gives reliable study guides for the exams.

Professor S. is one of the best professors I've had at Nova. She was always active and would reply very quickly. The grading is simple and shown in the syllabus. Take this class and choose her you'll learn and have a good time in the class.

Honestly one of the best political science classes I've taken at NOVA. It's really engaging to listen to her lectures, and if you have the option, I'd take the class in-person. She communicates well and is very understanding to any situations that may arise. Out of all of the political science teachers, I'd recommend taking her.
