Dr. S. is a gifted professor. She is the best teacher that I have ever had in my life. She is wonderful!
Dr. S. is the best teacher that I have ever had. She will go out of her way for every single student.

shes very knowlegable, at first thought is dumb blonde, but truly the opposite.
Dr. S made even the most complicated ideas easy to understand.
She makes class engaging.
Awesome teacher who will keep your attention during every single class. If you have a bad grade, her end-of-the-year 50 pt questionaire will help you out. And while she's definately one of the smartest and more entertaining professors, she's cute, too.
Dr. S. is my hero. Her classes are the only classes I have ever taken that I can honestly say I have enjoyed every day of. She has an amazing knowledge of, among other things, sex studies which she uses to provide memorable examples in class.
What a GREAT course. Interesting content, and an interesting teacher. YOU WILL HAVE FUN in her class. She doesnt know how to be boring, i think its genetic... More importantly, she remembers what its like to be a student and the work load is fair. A++
GREAT professor. I took all of her telecourses. She was very friendly and her classes were interesting
Amazing teacher! She is beautiful as well as intelligent. She instilled such an interest in Psychology, I have switched my major.
Best Psychology teacher ever. She really knows how to keep the class fun and relaxed. Plus she's not bad to look at.
loved the class, she makes it really interesting you won't want to miss class
By far the hottest teacher I've ever had !! What makes it even better -- her knowledge base is even sexier than her !! Wow--does she know her stuff! Throughly enjoyed--(Please Dr. S , switch to the field of education so I can take more of your courses) :)
Her beauty is much deeper than her skin. She has to be one of the most personable people i have encountered. The class has a lot of content, but she doesn't make it feel that way.
Her lectures are very entertaining. She knows what she's talking about and has found a good way to engage the entire lecture hall in whatever subjects she talks about. This was the class that woke me up in the morning.
Best class ever! Everything about it is right.
Great teacher and a great example and role model to all women entering the field of science. She taught me you can be pretty and knowledegable and not be intimidated by men. She is also very very funny!
She is by far the best teacher I have ever had. I was nervous entering the class but I highly encourage all undergrad psych majors to take research methods with her- she cares about undergrads and has a desire to help them!
siciliani is awesome!! i recomend this class! she gives tests fairly, she jokes, and the class wasn't boring at all. i wonder why she only gives gen psy course on video based this semester. she should teach on a class!!very good public speaker.
she's hot, she's fun, and she teaches sex. Whats not to love?
Phenomenal instructor. Dr. S. somehow makes what should be a boring class fun.
Dr. S is an awesome teacher! She makes class fun with an easy learning environment! And it helps too that she is HOT! Great props for teachin sex class *bow chicka bow wow*
I really liked her class. I stopped by her office a year later and she helped me resolve some issues I was having. I think she is one of the nicest persons around.
general psych with her was EASY A, psych of sex was a lot harder.
I've had her for 3 classes (2 lecture, 1 video) and will be taking her at least a few more times. She's a huge reason why I switched my major to Psychology. Best teacher at UMSL hands down! She's educated, funny, respected in her field, and did I mention.. A ****IN HOTTY!! I want to marry Dr. S!

siciliani was amazing... she made me a psych major for two whole semesters

She's awesome.
I was in the video General Psych. course and didn't see her except once. But, she is very well organized and the tests follow the material almost exactly.

Love me some Dr. Sexy! Seriously, tho, her class is the one that convinced me to change my major to Psych. I would love to be a little Dr. S when I grow up!

She's amazing! best teacher I've ever had! (Hot too...lol)
One of the best teachers I ever had. also the smartest and most beautiful one, too. Ten hot peppers, baby.
If “attractive” + “brains” does not compute for you, take another professor. Don’t make the mistake of entering her course thinking you can skate by. She'll call you on it. If you care about yourself, you'll listen. If you let your pride get in the way, you’ll miss out on one of the best assets this campus has to offer. She’s phenomenal.
she is a nice person but very outspoken. she likes to relate things to real world but even with lots of studying it is hard to pass the class
do not leave UMSL without taking one of her courses...she is sooo brillant, and dedicated to teaching. She is just great. She is such an asset to UMSL - don't slack because she is doing her job - teaching - and doing it well, and making it fun, while teaching us to take it seriously. Such a great role model!
Dr. S is one of the best professors that I have had. She makes the class fun and she has been so helpful with helping the class with the test.
very good teacher. very energetic, and loud. she is very organized, and her lectures are pretty easy to follow. her tests are pretty easy, if you attend class everyday. also she is hot, hot, hot.
She is a good professor and keeps the class interesting. She's intimidating though. I highly reccomend her video classes!!
the most intelliegent, and humerous professor at umsl. she made psy so much fun, and interesting, and her sexiness helped me do better in this course as well. Take her class, trust me you wont regret it.
She is one of the better teachers I have had. She is fun and the class is fun. The information in the class if very important and enlightening for society.

This class is so enlighening and everyday is like going to a comedy club. I actually looked foward to going and enjoed every minute while I was there.
I took her my first semester in college and didn't know what to think at first but she is one of the most empathetic teachers I know. She like to through fun facts into the lecture and takes time to answer most questions, even the off the wall ones. She prepares you for the test and does not like to give busy work. :)
I have taken three of her classes since I have been at UMSL, General Psych., Human Sexuality and Careers in Psych. She was awesome in all three classes. I highly recommend taking her classes. If you are a psych major, dont leave here without taking one. She is very knowledgeable and very helpful. Thank you Dr.S!!!! :)
I have nothing bad to say about Dr. S. I LOVE that lady!!

I just love taking her classes, even her tougher courses aren't so bad because if you see her for help, she will do everything to help you. Dr. S is an axcellent teacher and fun to talk to outside of class.
She's the consummate professional. Yes, she's hot, but she gets hotter as the semester moves along and it’s because of HOW MUCH SHE KNOWS and how great she is at relating to us. I feel like she learns from us too. She thanks us for our attention during lecture for god’s sake! She's cool, she's witty, and she knows every friggin thing.
Dr. S. is an awesome teacher. I plan to as many of my psych classes with her as I can.
Very cool and down-to earth. She can be a smart aleck sometimes, though, but only if a student is not paying attention. Allows questions to be asked during lectures even if though there were 300 people in the class! Very funny and entertaining. Knows her stuff WELL! U have to be an idiot to fail one of her quizzes and her test are easy if you study
She's great! She's a really cool person, loves and knows what she;s teaching, and interacts well with the students.
I would take her again, she is very detailed in her explanations. You know exactly what's coming because she follows the syllabus and is very fair.
She is absolutely awesome. I took Human Sexuality with her and now I am planning on taking every single course she teaches at UMSL. She is SO knowledgable and answers every question. She is fair and hilarious. Definately do not leave UMSL without taking one of her classes!!!
Great clarity, great pedagogy, wonderful enthusiasm, high expectations. Also, smoking hot.
Amazing Professor highly recommend taking a class with her!
Dr. S is one of the best teachers on campus. She knows what she's talking about and makes it easy to understand for her students. Most of the questions on her tests come from the notes, so TAKE LOTS OF GOOD NOTES. The textbook was not used much, but I would still recommend getting one. If you can, definitely take a class with her!
Dr. S is very helpful and fun. She uses in-class demonstrations on her tests so go to class all the time and take lots of notes.
She's very understanding when she teaches always making it entertaining and fun. She's hyper but def will keep you awake and ready to learn. She also makes amazing chocolate =]
I highly recommend taking a class with Dr. S whenever possible. She is great at explaining everything. Do not buy the book. There is no way you can fail her class if you simple SHOW UP. You will want to go to class anyway, she has amazing information that relates to anyones life!
Very good teacher, and very Hot!
Dr. S isnt messin around. This class kicks your a$$, but when you get done you know you have really learned a lot. Dr. S is tough but fair. And she's a little hottie fo sho. No disrespect intended
Best teacher ive had at umsl so far :)
I'm now at MSU, but always think back to Psych 1001 with Dr. S. Not because I'm infatuated w/ her(I am), but her teaching approach and knowledge of her subject is incredible. She clearly loves her work,& it makes me love her work too. Thinking about pursuing neuro because I now LOVE the brain.
Dr. Siciliani is one of the best professors I have ever had! She teaches with so much enthusiasm that you can't help but want to learn; her classes are challenging and rigorous, but it pushes me to be better and work harder. She genially cares about the knowledge that her students take away from the class as well as the student's overall success.
She is absolutely amazing, i have never had a class as good as hers. I absolutely adore her.
I have taken every class offered by Dr. Siciliani because she is hands down an amazing professor. You'll be doing yourself a disservice if you don't take at least one of her classes. She's passionate about psychology and the success of her students, and she's hilarious. If you attend class and take notes you'll be set in her class.
She is a wonderful teacher! I love going to her class! she has so much energy and you never know what funny thing she is going to say in class. She is all about helping her students learn and she will answer every question as best as she can. overall Best teacher at UMSL by far!!
Took her online class. Overall, a very easy course if you can follow directions and stay on track with the chapter readings. She provides study guides for quizzes and the exams are fairly simple if you study. Textbook is required as all of the material in the class references it.
Great teacher will always help you if needed.
great professor, explains clearly what she expects and make class fun and interesting with personal stories
Dr. S is the funniest professor I have ever had. She could make learning about psychology interesting to a baby! Overall, the class was pretty easy as long as you took very good notes. Book not needed
Fun class and easy if you take good notes and study often. Book isn't really needed.
This is my second class with her. She is passionate about what she teaches and will make you just as passionate about it. YOU HAVE TO GO TO CLASS. All tests are based on EVERYTHING that is said in class, even off-beat conversation. It would be a shame for students to not take at least one class with her.
Awesome professor, great class. Take good notes. Don't even get the textbook. All of her tests are from her notes, specially the stories and examples she uses. Easy A. Don't wait until last minute for the research survay.
Dr. Siciliani, could have been a better Professor. I had perfect attendance and good test scores. My overall grade for the semester was low!
Amazing Professor. Very animated. A no excuses type professor. 3 words of advice: BE ON TIME, COME EVERYDAY, AND TAKE INCREDIBLE NOTES!!! ANY STORY SHE TELLS WE BE ON SOME TEST
Dr. S is flippin awesome! She loves what she does and has busted her butt to get to where she is today. If you can't make it to her class on time, drop it. If you cannot go without your phone or laptop for an entire period, drop the class. She's amazing, but has a low tolerance for disrespectful people.
She is the coolest teacher I have ever had and probably the most dedicated. I enjoyed her course immensely!
Dr.siciliani is amazing! As long as you get to your seat ON TIME, EVERYDAY, and take notes on EVERYTHING she says/shows(and study it a few times) you can pass with an A. don't buy the book, don't need it as long as you take good notes. She very enthusiastic, straightforward and keeps the class interesting, I'd definitely recommend her for any class!
She was a fantastic Research Methods teacher, though I've heard other stores about her General Psych class. She tones it down in RM, but she mainly spends GenPsych trying to shock people with sex anecdotes. Very helpful in RM, especially in office hours. Her class isn't easy, but you WILL learn vital information for grad school.
She 's one of those teachers who head is on cloud nine. Quick to say what comes to her mind. She's kool but sarcastic, does not have a problem with letting you know how shes feel. Answer specific on the essay questions because she's quick to take off points unless your a brown nose. LOL
This was my first time taking Dr. S and I loved her! She is funny, witty, and sarcastic. She doesn't talk to her students like they are idiots, but she will tell when you are being one. She says her tests are hard, but if you take good notes and attend class, they are a breeze. Like others have said, write down everything she says! Would take again
I decided to take a class with Dr. S based on the good things I had heard about her, but I was left disappointed with both the quality of the prof. and her grading standards. I wont take another class with her again.
My only regret of my UMSL career has been missing one of her classes. Dr. S is by far the most intelligent and inspiring woman I have ever met and she is the best teacher I have ever had. Can't say enough good things about her. I feel like shes an UMSL celebrity. Make sure you take notes on everything she says. You won't pass, if you don't.
I highly suggest taking Dr. S for Research Methods. While the research portion was some of the most difficult research I have done the actual writing of the papers was the easiest I have done. She sets out clear guidelines for scientific writing which can be applied in future writing. My academic life is better for having taken this class.
Dr. S was hilarious and gave great lectures. She was very clear and as long as you go to every class and take good notes it is a fairly easy class. I did not have to use the book really. The lectures cover everything on the tests, so never miss a class.
I absolutely loved this class and the professor! Dr. S is hilarious and the lectures are very entertaining but do require you to take notes on EVERYTHING she says. Her stories and little comments will show up on exams which is why it is important for you to be at every class. Great professor, would definitely take any of her courses!
She is THE BEST Professor is UMSL. I had her for gen psych and Research Methods. She is very nice and is willing to help you out as so long as she sees that you are putting an effort to learn. She puts time outside of her class to talk to you and help you with anything you need. If you go to class and take good notes you will be okay.
You could probably just show up and pass. Lectures were mostly common knowledge, though some information was inaccuratecontrary to scientific findings. She had a grating personality which nearly prompted me to walk out on a few occasions. That is, she liked to ramble about torturing lab animals and abusing romantic interests, among other things.
She is absolutely awesome. Definitely one of my favorites! She makes psychology fun and interesting, and I can honestly say I learned a lot. My main piece of advice is don't be lazy when it comes to taking notes. The notes you take will save your test grades! But other than that, enjoy the class and enjoy the laughs, you're sure to have many (:
Make sure to take great notes in class. The book is not required. I really did enjoy her class and I learned a lot that will help me in the medical field. Make sure never to miss her quizzes and do your best on them. She usually gives five question pop quizzes that are related to that class day or the previous one, so make sure to pay attention :)
I ended up really liking her! The first class I was a little intimidated because she truly speaks her mind, but I now think she is one of the most unique and entertaining professors at UMSL. You'll learn a lot you didn't know! Take thorough notes in class and expect pop quizzes OFTEN! She gives you a lot of opportunities to get an A in her class!
Very poor teacher. She presents more trivial details about her experiences and favorite stuff than actual science, then asks you about it on quizez and exams. Never seen such a teacher before. Didn't learn anything interesting since it was majorly about her and her PhD and how smart she is. Definitely has issues. Class was mandatory unfortunately.
Without all the details, I can say that she has literally changed my entire life for the better starting in 1003 two years ago. I have gone on to take 2 more of her classes and it's not my major. She is strong, in your face, and yes confident. I get that can put certain people off. But only if you don't understand how much she cares about us.
She is incredibly knowledgable in her field, has a lot of field experience, and really knows what she's talking about. The class is note heavy, but you don't really use the book. The quizzes and tests are basically all from the notes. I learned so much from her class and can't wait to take another class with her.
based on reviews for this prof. and word of mouth i took a class with her. i'm regretting it. i haven't missed a class once. i take notes the whole class and pay attention but my grades are low on tests and quizzes. something isn't adding up. her grading criteria is way too hard, imo. this is not a graduate class but she teaches like it is.
Let me start by saying that I love Dr.S and I think she's the best prof at UMSL, HOWEVER, I don't like the following: you can't record the class, no computers are allowed, and she doesn't post lecture notes online, yet she expects you to write EVERYTHING down and it ALL is on exams. That's hard for me, but she will help students if need be. 7.5/10
Missing class will hurt your grade. She gives pop quizzes, but nothing difficult. I cannot wait to take more courses with Dr. S. Love her personal stories, it makes class easy to connect with. A lot of people didn't purchase the book, but to me it was an easy read, it explained large terms in more simple context. Loved the book.
Took her for Choosing a Career in Psych. Class was easy and fun. She's sort of a tough grader. Will get C if you do your work B if you study notes and A if you do all the above. One of the text was mandatory. She will tell you which.
Best teacher ever!!! So funny and entertaining. She's awesome and hot! But, -Pop quizzes -NEVER skip class (unless a friend can give you notes) -Always take notes -Ask questions to get on her good side Overall, great course! OH, and don't even get the book!! We never used it for General Psych.
Definitely important to be in class and take notes on everything that she says! Anything and everything could be on the exam!
You will DEFINITELY love this class, She is freaking awesome!!! I think she is the best teacher I have ever had. She just makes sense ya know?
Loved this class! She made even boring lectures fun!
Dr. S is great, she knows what she's talking about and is super good at making sure that she's teaching you what you want to know. Full attendance is necessary, but you won't want to miss her class anyway. She's a huge stickler on phones and laptops so just don't use them, but overall I loved having class with her and I'm not even interested in PSY
Dr. S is the reason I am a psych major. She will be your friend, mentor, and educator if you reach out to her. She keeps class fun and interesting, but she doesn't mess around either. Tests are VERY straight forward if you attend class, I haven't cracked a book for either class I have taken with her.
This woman is effing amazing. If you have an opportunity to take a class with her, do it. She's super real and FUNNY. You definitely wanna show up to class because she doesn't post lecture notes online, but you will actually want to go to class because her lectures are awesome. I don't even have to take notes in her class because shes so good
I LOVE HER! She is an amazing professor but she is not an easy one.. If you are looking for an easy A, don't take this class with her. But she makes psychology so interesting and makes all the concepts easy for undergrads to actually understand. I wish I could take this class over again!
Very inspirational
Siciliani's upper level classes are soooo much harder than her Intro to Psych. The main difference are the exams. Exams suddenly turned into graduate level Essay exams and she is proud of how challenging she is. I took Attraction and EVO with her this semester and it was a big mistake. Not the same professor I fell in love with in intro!
SO MUCH FUN!! There isn't one class that passed by that we didn't laugh in. She's great!!
She is eccentric and loud and funny and will not take any crap. If you can't handle a sass ball of pure sass, do not take this class. However, if you enjoy a sassy teacher, then definitely. If you pay attention and actually take notes, you will learn something in this class. You will be pushed, but you will come out a better psychologist due to it.
Great professor! She knows her stuff. This is the easiest of her classes which is to be expected. She does everything she can to ensure you are getting everything out of your education. As a person, she is kind, caring, and sassy. If you are don't like hearing about sex, don't take any class with Dr. S as it one of her many areas of study.
I took this class over the summer online. I like the class online, but Siciliani wasn't very helpful or clear on course material. She would say one thing and do another. She said don't be afraid to ask questions, and when you do ask, she's dosen't answer your question directly. Very nice and is willing to help, but is all over the place.
She's very straight forward and honest. Don't like how she stops lectures to yell at people for talking. She'll waste more time yelling at them. Pop quizzes 5 questions and she says the questions out loud but goes really fast. Sometimes she lets you work with other people or use notes on quizzes. Exams are long and count for most of your grade.
Dr. S helped me more than she will ever know. I had her first in methods and later in Evo. I was struggling in life the first time I took her class, and she worked with me but also made sure I was putting in the effort. Her methods class is what inspired me to do research. When I got to see her more in her element in evo, I really came to adore her
Awesome Professor. She does not play around, but if you put in the time and effort, you will come out of her class a better student. Methods was one of the first classes at UMSL that "challenged" me, and I appreciate her for that. She also has a great sense of humor and really cares about her students. Highly recommend her!
Absolutely loved Dr. Siciliani's Gen Psych class, she's super knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. Grading was based on three exams, one optional final to replace one exam grade, pop quizzes, as well as participation in clinical research. Virtually no homework assigned other than preparing for exams. Inspirational & fun to attend.
I have learned so much this semester. She's an awesome teacher, and teaches in a way for you to remember. Absolutely LOVED her.
My favorite professor. Very good at making you remember things just by what she says.
She's an amazing professor and is really good at getting the class engaged in her lectures. She tries to use as little technical wording as possible and tries to make psychology easy to understand. I go home and talk about what I learned in lectures often. Very interesting class and amazing teacher.
Lectures were great and very interesting. If you skip one class you're gonna miss out on a whole lot of things. Textbook was optional only if you really wanted to understand the info more. Many pop quizzes
Love her!
She tries very hard to make learning interesting, and it works. I enjoyed going to her lectures every class period, but the tests were a different story. Maybe it was just the semester that I had her, but the tests were ridiculous. I felt like they were trick questions over tedious details rather than actually testing my knowledge in psychology.
Beware of her online class. It's taught like you're a psych major, so don't take it for a gen ed. Doesn't answer emails clearly (if at all) tests/quizzes contain content from different courses (doesn't fix the problem either) and are already on obscure content. Requires you to read original psych documents for a gen ed class. Not worth the stress.
Dr. S. is the best professor Ive ever had. Shes hilarious, cares about her job, and I honestly dont know how a school like umsl got her to teach there but Im glad they did. If you dont put in effort, youre not going to succeed in her courses, especially research methods.
Go to every class and write down every thing said/talked about because that is the complete test. Very easy to pass if you show up and take good notes. AWESOME teacher as I have never liked a teacher more in my college career
I've had Dr. S for 2 courses, she is hands down the best professor I've ever had. Methods was such a hard course when it comes to searching for articles. If you listen, take really good notes (unlike me hence my C) in class you will pass & you have to make sure you study your notes often! Even though she tries to scare her students its just a front
Best Prof EVER & most interesting course I've ever had & it's because of her! You will learn so much that ACTUALLY MATTERS to you. I would take it all over again. Just take LOTS of notes & study them they matter for your pop quizzes & exams. Very little hmwk. She is VERY knowledgeable & she truly cares for her 'peeps' as she calls students.
Best professor at UMSL. Made me consider changing my major to Psych.
Even though her syllabus is extremely specific and rigid, her actual lectures are very hard to follow and filled with confusing colloquialisms. If you're hard of hearing or have difficulty focusing, you can't even have your phone out to record her lectures and she will humiliate you in front of 200 people for doing so. Good luck...
Best teacher ever hands down . Pay attention write everything she says and dont be afraid to ask questions. Oh and she is hilarious
Dr. Sicilliani has to be one of my all time favorite teachers. She knows so much about the field of psychology and genuinely wants her students to succeed. She speaks extremely fast so write everything she says down. She relates a lot of the material to her own personal experiences which makes it easier to remember certain topics. 10/10
(Online student reviewing) Solid teacher with clear expectations. She outlines the flow / demands of the class, then lets you to earn the grade you get. Every time I had an issue or needed clarification, she answered my emails in a timely manner. Tests were fair and her assignments allowed students to express their understanding of the material.
Attend her lectures. Get a notebook and I kid you not, write down almost everything you talk about in class. If she posts the notes, print them out and write all over them. Get a note buddy and share notes with each other. It's a hard class but it is SO rewarding. You will learn so much from this class. Pay attention and you'll do great.
class required a lot of time to be put in, but overall i took something out of the class that i enjoyed
Research methods with Dr. S. is supposed to be the hardest research methods in all of UMSL. However, she is ABSOLUTELY the person you want to take it with. If you get an A in her class, she'll give you a letter of recommendation. She has high expectations of her students & cares about their education! GO TO CLASS! Slides are not posted online!!
I've had Dr. S. for several classes now and there are few professors I've ever had that can match up to her. She is extremely knowledgeable about her topics and her lectures are engaging. Her classes are VERY difficult, but very rewarding at the same time. I regularly apply what I've learned from her in my life.
Dr. S keeps it straight up and tells you how to succeed in her class. She makes coming to class and learning fun. She has a very loud personality and some people are intimidated by her, but she's super nice if you actually talk to her. No electronics in her class, so be ready to write and be ready to write fast. One of the best at UMSL.
You have to put in serious work, but Gen Psych with her is one of the most interesting and most applicable classes I've ever had. She is a great teacher, makes things click very easily, and cares about her students. This course covers so much fascinating material; best gen ed I've taken.
Dr. S is great! I was so scared at first but it was not so bad. Follow any instructions that she or your gta gives you. Write things exactly how they say to. She does not tolerate people who arent there to learn. She will test you on weird stuff. She has amazing life stories and promises a good letter of recommendation if you get an A.
Her syllabus is written moreso to protect herself from a lawsuit rather than provide academic expectations. Even if you have ADA clearance from the university to record lectures, she asks that you meet with her in person to "decide" if you're "allowed" to record her before asking that you sign a non-disclosure agreement before doing so.
Dr. S is a fine professor.
While Dr. S is a fair grader and good at explaining things/ making sure the assignments are understood, she is completely inaccessible outside of class.
Dr. S is tough, and her classes in necessary but overall she's not a super person. She will call out people in humiliate them in class. She's mean. Be prepared to write a lot of papers and do a LOT of research. She will offer to write w grad school ref, for you, but trust me, you don't need one from her, a janitors letter would be better.
It is no secret that Dr. S is an amazing and highly sought-after professor! Her courses are so intriguing and worth all the hard work. I took her PSYCH2040 (Attraction: Evo Approach) course online. I loved attending lecture every week. Course work was challenging but fair, applicable, and fun! Glad professors like her exist... esp in a pandemic!
Dr. S is tough but that's because she cares. A lot. She's fair and tells you EXACTLY what you need to do to do well. She doesn't take crap and has little patience for laziness and will absolutely call you on it. I've never seen a professor care for their students like she does. She's energetic and passionate. Best teacher at UMSL by far.
I liked her okay but shes very energetic and it can be a little over the top sometimes. It can be rather overbearing for someone who is quieter or more drawn in. She provides good examples and explains things pretty well so thats a plus.
Inappropriate stories of her personal life and past relationships. Narcissistic and disorganized in her lectures. Masks her shortcomings with an authoritarian attitude about class structure. Creates a false impression that the class will be difficult due to material however it is actually her unprofessional attitude that is difficult. avoid her
Horrible experience in this class. Absolutely the worst teacher that I've ever had. Even though she teaches in an interesting subject and is very knowledgable she has the worst test. The test consists of 100 questions that you have 90 minutes to take it and the questions are all about the slightest detail. I was a 4.0 student before this class....
One of rudest prof of all time. 1 class and she made me cry. Calls you out in front of the entire class. No care for kids who have learning disabilities. Terrible excuse of a human. Cares more about avoiding a lawsuit. No pictures of the lecture and NO recordings. "You think I can afford that bag? I get that from the men I go on dates with."-DR.S
Easily one of the worst professors I have ever had. Dr. Siciliani is extremely unprofessional and not capable of teaching. Her classes comprise of assigned readings and sending personal reasonings behind her gradings being late. Her emails are always late, grammatically incorrect, and unprofessional. Don't bother asking questions, she doesn't care.
Dr. S is the best! I have never had a professor that cares as much as she does! She truly goes above and beyond for those students that care about their learning.
Dr. S was a really great professor. I would take this course 100 times over, but it did not come easy. This class requires a ton of research and a ton of difficult, unfamiliar writing. Dr. S understands that this class is tough, but encourages and pushes all of her students to be the best versions of themselves. My entire class got an A or B.
So much content, u cannot miss lecture, slides are NOT enough explanation. Tests are online/take home but still very challenging if ur not a good writer. All assignments are almost entirely essay & short answer format & she expects hq writing. Content is interesting & she's really funny. She relies on factual evidence, makes no unsupported claims
Amazing professor/person! Cares deeply about students and makes the class interesting/open to discussions in class on topics of interest. Pop quizzes and tests are challenging (essays and MC) but read chapters and show up to class and they're doable. Writing intensive! BUT subtracts the worst quiz, test, and writing assignment from total grade.
Amazing teacher, read the book, watch the extra content she assigns. She is very understanding and kind, but don't abuse it, because she will toughen up if things are getting out of hand. However, she is reasonable and has interesting lectures. Do be wary of the writing assignments and quizzes, which can affect your grade if you miss them in class
Class is interesting. Try to be engaged in the class, it makes it a lot easier and more bearable. I wouldn't say the class was hard. I got away without really watching any of curated content or reading the textbook. Did get nailed a couple times though with the in-class writing assignments and tests. Interesting discussion came about in the class.
Dr. S is very passionate about what she teaches and you can tell. However, her lecture style was sometimes all over the place and hard to follow. This made taking notes hard. All her tests were take-home, you could spend as much time as needed and use notes. She is strangely particular about grammar and run-on sentences, weird for a psych prof.
Engaging lectures, but the workload can be heavy. Be prepared to read, participate, and use study tools like Unstuck AI to stay on top of the challenging tests and writing assignments. Overall, a worthwhile class if you're willing to put in the effort.
I loved this class!! Dr. S cares about her teaching. Rarely any homework. There are many pop quizzes throughout the semester, they are very simple mostly for attendance purposes. You NEED to attend lectures because she does not teach straight out of the book, which I love. She is hilarious! The class is very simple if you put in the work.
Dr. S is not a kind person. She will humiliate students in front of the class. Specifically, those with special needs. Interesting as you're a psychology professor. I pay to be here, and you feel the need to humiliate me in front of the class. I don't recommend her course, and believe she needs need to reevaluate this teaching style.
Amazing semester with Dr. S. She is hard to read in the beginning, but you quickly get to know her and understand her expectations. Her lectures are fantastic and you can tell she's incredibly passionate about her field and wants her students to succeed. Some of the reviews on here had me nervous to take her class, but I'm so thankful I did!
I have not once taken a class like professor Sicilianis. As long as you attend lectures, it is so easy for information to stick. She is so passionate about her job and gives excellent examples that are impossible to forget, and is absolutely stunning on the daily!
