You're gonna want to get the book, a lot of her quiz questions come from the text

She is so FUNNY! She makes this class so interesting.No homework,just lots of notes & attendance is a must! When she gives the tests she gives you a study guide and just read chapters. She was pregnant when I had her & still is super nice! I would take her class again if she taught something else! You won't be disappointed(:

VERY FUN CLASS. she is so funny and always making up jokes. she curses a lot and the class stays laughing. you dont need the book. tests are straight from lecture. the final is ?s from previous test which are only 2. seriously take this class. you will get an easy grade and have fun too. DEF TAKE HER FOR SOCIOLOGY IF YOU DONT CARE FOR THE SUBJECT.

sociology didnt really interest me but she is the only teacher who always had a full class. no one was ever absent and i think it was because she is fun. 2 test, 1 final. class is all lecture with a lot of fun discussions and 1 group project which everyone got a good grade. best class ive taken.

It was a pleasure to take this class. Shes really entertaining and the class was easy. All you do is take notes and have fun discussions. She gave us only 2 test from lectures and 1 final from the 2 test. Doesnt get easier than that. Easy.

Jennifer Simmers is a great professor and i regret taking her as a summer course it was way too much info for 6weeks especially since we had no assignments only tests so my entire summer was me focusing on my books and notes. I barely passed. Overall her class is entertaining and exciting to listen to her stories.

She is a very fun teacher and discussions are engaging. Winter session is intense. Study, study, study. Do not consider sociology to be an easy subject. Extra credit is helpful. Pay attention to scenarios she uses in class, most likely they are going to be used on the test. 2 tests and 1 final. I highly recommend her.

Professor Simmers is a wonderful professor. She is funny and nice. Her lectures are very interesting and entertaining. The textbook is very important. Sociology is not an easy subject, but if you study and attend class you will learn a lot and a get a good grade. I regret not taking this class during the fall. It's worth taking for a full semester.

Simmers always makes her lectures interesting and fun. I wish I would of taken her class in the fall instead of summer but just study and you will do fine.

This class is a handful for summer session, but with fair amount of effort A/B is possible. Don't miss out on her notes-SUPER helpful and extra credits are always important. Study for test is a MUST but class sessions are fun. I am torn, sometimes she is VERY open, funny,& cool. Other times can seem a bit ..races. BUT I beleive she's really not.

AMAZING TEACHER! Her lectures are really good and although I didnt buy the book for her class I wish I had. I could have totally gotten an A. During the summer her extra credit consisted of watching 3 movies and then answering a question about how it relates to class. One of the movies was White Chicks!

Insructor Simmers is very funny! I didn't agree with a lot of her personal views but I respect her opinion. Just do your own research and form your own opinion. Easy class. Must buy text book. Attendence is required. But overall easy class!

I was worried that Soc-1 would be boring but Ms. Simmers made it fun. Just show up, read the book and take notes, it couldn't be easier.

J. Simmers first of all is a cutie with a little sass. other than that she makes the class very interesting and fun. Never a dull moment in her class. take the notes, go over your notes and read the chapters. not hard at all if you put in the effort, I promise. good luck

Very easy class if you put in the extra time to study for the tests. Professor Simmers is a blatant liberal feminist and the book is heavily biased toward her personal perspective. Nonetheless, she is a good professor. Can't understand why people would get lower than a B in her class.

she is amazing I loved every class she made it so I never wanted to miss her class. I loved her sassy comments and her way of delivering the material ask her about Rolling Christmas trees for Jesus that's my favorite lesson

Enjoyed coming to class because of Jennifer's stories. I never dreaded coming to this class. Tests are not all that easy. You must read the book and understand the concepts. Took her for winter session and she provided extra credit. That helped a lot. Wish I could have taken her for the fall/spring.

She is very chill. Almost no homework at all. She is funny and cracks jokes all the time She doesn't care if you show up or not, and she wont drop you because of attendance. Tests are the only hard part, just make flash cards of the key-terms in the text book and you are good. We never used book in the class, just need it for tests.

She has a lot of funny stories that relate to what we learn. Take good notes and read the book and you will pass the class. She's a great professor.

Awesome professor with a wicked sense of humor! In all she gave us two assignments and we took 4 tests. Don't let that full you though, this means your grade depends 90% on your exam scores...just do the practice quizes from the website from the book and you will be fine. Loved her class definitely a great professor and very knowledgeable too!!

What a wonderful teacher, easy class but very helpful, people say this class is hard, but it is 't just read the chapters, and tests are only 8 questions and 5 discussion boards.

probably one of the most funniest prof ive had! wasnt that interested in the soc topics, mostly came to class just for her stories. lecture topics are pretty self-explanatory. however, you do need the readings for tests and assignments . Overall, didnt really like the class, but LOVED the professor.

She is a very great teacher with a wicked sense of humor. I loved her class and couldn't get enough. She has no assignments, your grade is determined by four tests but all info is clearly given during class. You don't even need the book! (If you show up and take notes) I highly recommend taking her class.

Took they Hybrid class. She was great! Missed 3 weeks of class for something that I couldn't control and she understood. Hilarious. I thought I was going to hate this class. I definately didn't.

Funniest professor hands down ! We didn't even have a final we had an optional assignment if you can take her do it, you wont regret it.

She is nice, helpful, and hilarious. Her class is very passable, just show up and do the reading (not much, just from the textbook-easy reading). Tests were straight forward, and extra credit is basically handed out.

Her lectures are absolutely hilarious, and she's so fun and easy to talk to about anything in life. If I wasn't so set on my major, I would have switched to Sociology because of her. Don't be afraid to be shy and participate in class! She's really outgoing and just an amazing person. The textbook would definitely help with tests. Please take her!

I am so happy I took this class not only does professor simmers give in depth lectures, she can really teach a class! I wish I would have taken her sooner. Tests are really easy and she always gives extra credit after every test.I purchased the book but I didn't even open it once. Her discussions are where she gets the tests answers from.

Took her for Summer 2015. We were graded on 3 test and she offers extra credit after each test. She tells funny stories, but they all relate to sociology. Don't rely on her to give you all the information needed for the tests. I read the book before going to class and i was able to understand the lectures clearly. Loved her class!

As long as you read the book and take good notes, her class should be easy. I took her class in the winter and got an A. She also offers extra credit for every exam.

Easy A. Really fun class

This is one of those easy A classes but its those ones where you ace the first midterm so you think its easy so you dont show up to class or do the homework and then get a D on the second midterm. Shes always like 15 mins late but shes funny. Class is like we're just hanging out talking about relative topics. Gives group assignments on fridays.

The best class I have ever taken. Easy A ! She has the greatest and funniest lectures and easy, minimal homework. Test requires studying but not at all difficult because she makes it easy to remember test subjects. Prepare to laugh and have a great time in this class! Really connects with the students! Was always looking forward for this class!!

Absolutely hilarious. I would take her again in a heartbeat for that very reason. The only thing is that she won't teach everything that is on the test. That's what the book is for. Her tests are moderate but classes themselves are easy. She cares about social problems & loves those who participate. Study & you'll pass. I took her at Crafton Hills.

I had a blast in her class. Always laughing in the midst of deep topics. She's super open w/ her life which makes the class not so uptight & boring. Cares for each of the students. Sweet. Easy assignments. Only downfall was a lot of what we discussed was not on the exams. Reading was essential for the topics we didn't go over. Class based on memory

She's very funny but if you are sensitive to liberal/gender related stuff don't take her. She's very open about sexuality, not afraid to cuss. Had 2 midterms and she gives you free answers to 1-2 questions on them. As long as you read the book, you're fine. She gave out activities which were really easy. Overall, easy class. Just gotta try.

So this is the second time I've taken one of her courses, she's an absolutely fabulous professor. She asked to talk to me after class and I was certain she was going to tell me to drop the class, but she just wanted to make sure I was alright. She gives amazing feedback and is super friendly. If she offers another class, I'm gonna take it.

Shes a very cool professor honestly. She isnt so uptight with her curriculum and teaches her lessons in a way that doesnt put extra stress on you. Very caring person and very laid back. We didnt get through all the chapters but I did learn a lot with her lectures and by reading the book. Her tests are mainly off the book, but its nothing bad.

This prof is great! She is very clear and understanding when it comes to how you learn as a student. She makes it easier for the students pace. Easy material, only thing is she doesn't do much lecture on what EXACTLY is on the exams so my advice is to READDD! Read the book or else you won't pass with an A.

Shes extremely straightforward and will give you the facts whether you want to hear it or not. Shes no nonsense but very lighthearted at the same time. She cares for her students and the education they get. Her quizzes are based on not just her lectures but on you actually reading the chapter so READ! If you show up and read, youll pass. Enjoy

I took her class For summer 2019. She has a lot of lecture and really good stories. However a lot of reading is involved. There are some questions that come directly from the reading. Shes very reasonable though and is very approachable if you have concerns about your grades.

My best advice is read the book and take notes! I took this class during the Summer and I must say she has been the best professor! She may get off topic but she made the class fun.

Prof. Simmers is a great option for sociology. She relates a lot of the topics to modern society. But, she does get off topic very easily. Overall, the class is one of the easiest classes that I have taken. She is very easy to talk too and she is very nice.

Honestly, this was my favorite class! She is so relatable and made sociology super fun. She is really open-minded and really speaks her mind which is really cool. Lectures were amazing and overall I enjoyed walking into the class all the time!

This is one of the sweetest women I have ever met in my LIFE. She is so caring and lovely, her class is really easy and the info is easy to understand. She doesn't play any tricks on her exams, just good information that we have covered. Class was super casual and we just chatted about random things after questions and lecture.

I Loved having professor Simmers for fall 2020. She was so kind, and she really cared about her students. Her class was so easy, she understands that we have other classes to worry about so she tries not to give us too much work! I passed with an A+! I would really recommend everyone to take her class!!!!!!

Good teacher, taken online. More of a "read this chapter and take the test" no lectures or anything, totally asynchronous. Not too hard. Weekly tests, a review test, and key terms test for each chapter. Definitely take during winter or summer if you need the credits

so when I say test heavy, i mean this entire class was just review tests and vocab quizzes, all of which you will find the answers for on Quizlet. There are like 6 assignments that require you to watch a video and answer 5 questions but that's it. def take her online asynchronous class literally the easiest A you will ever get :D

This class was online for me. This class was very easy and not stressful. she gives page number references on the quizes and gives you plenty of time to complete. I took this over winter and it was supposed to be faster pace and she only gave about 4 max assignments a week Also everything is online as far as information and test go TAKE THIS CLASS

She is an easy professor to take Soc 12. I took it online. You could find the answers anywhere for the quizzes. Shes so easy. I recommend taking her. Easy to pass with an A

Amazing professor she had assignments that were fairly easy. She had quizzes based on the textbook. She had no final exam amazing for that!

Amazing prof, clear and straightforward lectures , I learned so much from this class ! I took it in person and we discuss lectures all together in class. All the work is easy just use your textbook and make sure you turn in your assignments on time because she locks them sometimes but just email her. No final. Take her for soc 1 !!!

I really enjoyed her class. Attending lecture was not mandatory. Then again I took this class during the summer. First day of class she explained she doesn't want learning to be difficult or stressful for us. Quizlet will be your best friend. Discussion post as well, but they aren't too bad.

If I could describe Dr.Simmers in one phrase it would be, "an angel sent from heaven". This professor is LITERALLY the best professor I have taken at RCC. She is super nice and friendly, which makes it easy to talk to her. Her lectures are detailed and she makes the class super easy. Homework is super easy. If I could take this class again I would.

She was the best professor I have had so far! Her class was super easy, no final exam just quizzes. She made the class interesting with all of her crazy stories. The best.

Simmers is very well-spoken & knows how to back up her opinions. Definitely a green flag. She makes lecture easy to understand and especially fun. At times it feels like a group discussion. Read the book she requires and keep up with the assignments & youll surely pass! She's a very outspoken person so be prepared (in a good way). Material is easy.

She assigned work every 2 weeks. 1 or 2 quizzes & 1 or 2 assignments open notes. Assignments would be a video & 3-5 questions. NO midterm or final. U can pass with an A if you do the work. Overall if you need sociology for a GED I could not recommend her more! She provides the textbook online and most of the quiz answers come from the book. 10/10

Took during winter, about 3-4 assignments/quizzes a week. About 1-2 hours of videos to watch to complete those assignments. She didn't grade anything until the very end so there wasn't much feedback unless you emailed her. No word min or max for discussions and no you don't have to reply to other people thankfully. Great class.

Winter 2025. Take this online during short semesters. Super easy class! Free textbook, straightforward homework and quizzes. She doesn't respond to emails and grades at the end, but if you do the assignments, you'll get an A.

Simple lectures with straightforward quizzes. You get 1-2 video assignments weekly that you must write about which are pretty cool. But some vids are like an hour long so do plan ahead of time. I once emailed her but she never got back to me. Regardless, it's an easy A as long as you turn in everything. I LOVE that there was no midterm or final!
