Cool. but some hard
All she cares about is how to finish the textbook in such short time regardless of how much students learned out of it!! Very tight with grades.
She told us to keep our eyes on our desks in exams and to cover our tests so neighbors can't cheat. If we looked around we were cheating. Had to show ID. Some classes are so big teacher don't know you. She WALKED UP AND DOWN RIGHT NEXT TO THE DESKS during tests in SMALL CLASS. Expects software teach for her. Low trust is DEMORALIZING=low grade
A very poor teacher. Huge gap exists between what is taught in class and what is given on tests. Also, tests very inconsistant. Average score on one test 80, the other was less than 70. Will spend lots of class time reviewing pre-calc material but will rarely work difficult problems. Book is so awful it needs a "survival guide."
Not a very good teacher. Seems befuddled on many concepts related to calculus. Many times this quarter, she would get flustered, her face would turn red, and she would not be able to answer questions. She has students write the exercise #'s of difficult homework problems on board, but never makes time to work through them in class! Nice.
Not great. Treats students like elementary school, with colored stamps and "effort logs" and endless paperwork to sign and turn in. All teaching is projected straight out of the student guide. All test questions are from the book, except a few, which are unclearly written. Nitpicky grading. So-so at answering questions. Boring, inefficient.
Total waste of time. Only reason to show up is to take tests. Every day, as soon as I arrived I wanted to leave, and got worse throughout the quarter. Eventually decided I couldn't justify leaving work 2 hours early to attend. (Dropped after deadline so I'll probably get an F, after getting A+ in Trig and Precalc, but can't stand to go any more.)
If you are motivated enough to attend an evening course, then you will enjoy this class. She is a genuine person who is willing to accomodate the students' needs. If you have a positive attitude, you will succeed!
I haven't felt as much like I was in 4th grade since I was in 4th grade. So maybe she should have followed her gut and taught high school instead (or elementary school really). But the biggest goal in elementary school is keeping the kids awake and interested in the subject, which she's a total failure at, so I guess she's just a lousy teacher.
The final exam is extremely fair. She does her best to show the students how to excel in calculus. For the people who complain about it being like 4th grade, they should just grow up and enjoy the fact each instructor has a different approach. Sinclair know's what's going on and she does her job well.
The teacher was very clear in her lectures and made sure everyone who cared understood. Tests were fair. This is an evening class and had a number of whiners. I got a "B+" and feel well prepared to transfer to UCLA. GOOD TEACHER.
My favorite math teacher. VERY FAIR grading system. Flexible grading system where you can choose what assignments you want to attempt. Homework is optional but a great grade booster if you attempt it. I found the midterms to be harder than the Final(surprisingly easy). Got a B, I would recommend. She's very nice, easy to talk to and knows her stuff
She's a really sweet thing, but you knw, her teaching method works out excellent fr some, n not so much fr others. Some people like all the in-depth detail she goes into when explaining concepts but it confuses whatever i have already understood of the subject. Maybe tats just me, though. overall okish class, should say.
She's great. She does make you work though. The homework system is a bit elaborate, but good for someone like me who tends to slack off until the midterm. She gives you the tools you need to learn it, even if you're not naturally great at math. Very easy to talk to, never impatient or condescending.
This is an evening class and I need this to transfer this year. I took my prior courses at DA. She is the best math teacher I have ever had. She is very clear and I finally understood things I should have learned in Precalc. If you do you homework and ask her questions you do well on her exams.
She is a very nice instructor. At the same time many failed the Final exam in our class, hence could not take Math-1B, per Web-assign stats, the avg. grade is C(~60%), D (~30%) no A's. Those who got C can not move on to the next math level, b/c of the low grade (<50%) on Final. She does not prepare you for the Exams. Take her at your own risk.
Her concepts are not clear enough to teach.Great amount of homework that will never finish.
I like all the classtime we spend working on problems. We have reading assignments that are due before class starts. They help us prepare for the classwork that we do.
she doesn't even know what she's teaching. Tons of homework.
if you use english as a secong language, don't take her class. You need to answer her question with a good grammar, complete sentences, and exactly like she wants. Hard-graded!! It's almost impossible to get 100%. She gives a lot of homework, which is useless, because her exam will be different from her homework...
An excellent teacher, who wants her students to learn. I see a lot of negative comments on this site. In our class the good students are all quite satisfied and learning a lot, but there are some poor students who aren't getting it. They probably give her bad reviews. My only negative comment is that she gives too much homework.
She is a really nice and caring teacher, but she organizes the class in a confusing way. The homework is due 4 class days before she lectures over it in class. Her classwork is really hard and she takes off points left and right.
Nice, but isn't too adept at explaining things in a fashion that will drive key concepts home. She was constantly struggling and trying to find herself in our class. HW is optional; helps to do it since test q's sometimes pulled from there (but there's a lot; 50+/section sometimes excluding textbook questions). I learned very little, feel robbed.
A very nice math teacher. Thinking a lot to help students. And the class is relaxing. Though the homework is heavy, still very helpful, especially to the exams.
a really good teacher, explains very clearly. gives homework every week so consistent work is required. dont take if you're looking for an effortless A, but definitely take her if you want to learn something. doesnt really use the textbook, besides the notes she gives during class are enough.
Teaching methods are very laggy. She gives off the impression that she wings it all the time. Nice, but sometimes confuse herself.
She doesn't really go into much detail about the concept-she just gives us a gist of it.It might be hard for some to adapt to such learning. But her quizzes are not bad- they serve as VERY good study guides to the midterm. You may have to study some stuff on your own,I dont regret taking her since her tests are very easy. Very understanding teacher!
never goes over any questions you might have on homework. not good at explaining material, therefore making or very hard to learn anything
She is so nice and very helpful. Her quizzes and midterms are not hard at all, but final exam is quite difficult when compare to the midterm. She is willing help students to get a better grade. And she gives helpful study guide. Recommend her!
She is a really good teacher, she wants to help you to learn more. so she has many hw need to turn in, usually half of the exercise in the textbook. quiz on every friday.final not very difficult if you work hard
HORRIBLE! Wasted lots of class time changing how to hand in assignments and our groups and made us practice it like we were in 2nd grade. Lost students homework, extra credit, and midterms. Super easy sample problems in class and very difficult quizzes and tests with very little time to do it on purpose. EC was a joke, 1% value. DONT TAKE HER!
I had Mrs. Sinclair for all my calculus classes so far(1A-C), she was amazing what more could you want? She was extremely helpful a relatively lenient grader as long as you put in effort she will reward you. She also is always ready to help if you seek it. Great class room experience. Much better than the other Math professors I've heard of at FH.
Such a sweet lady! She is clear in explanations, she is EXTREMELY helpful if you dont understand. She give a lot of worksheets that are useful for studying/learning. She allows you to gain points back on ur midterms. I recommend her! She convinced other teachers to allow us to have a larger cheat-sheet for the final. great teacher and great lady!
You do not really learn in her class. She lectures very briefly and most of the class is spent on individual work on worksheets. There is NO textbook and all of the homework is done online. She is also usually unavailable so it is hard to get help with the material. The final was very hard and was pretty much half of your overall grade.
The activities for this class were completely irrelevant. The instructor did not really teach the material that we needed to learn. That came as an afterthought after the exam. T grading system was very subjective, as in "this looks like a C paper, so I'm giving it a C grade." Not very helpful in learning the material.
She is a nice lady but I think she needs to teach a little bit more. She gives lot of worksheet without teaching anything. The class was easy but I didn't learn anything from this class.
Lots of time spent on irrelevant in-class group assignments. Lectures are well done, but infrequent. Expect to teach yourself the material. Homework is not required but extra credit is given if it is done. Practice material given for final was exactly what was on the final. Very approachable and helpful during office hours. Drops 2 quizzes.
She is a very sweet teacher and very helpful. She might not be clear at first but will help you until you understand the material.
Many class activities that are irrelevance and you need to teach yourself for most of the time. If you are going to take her class, dont expect you will learn something from her. Very hard on grading. She is nice with local students but not with international students. If you want to learn and get an A, dont take her class.
she redefined my def of slavery giving so much homework RIDICULOUS
You pretty much have to write essays as part of your HW. NOT only do you have to show your work you have to explain STEP BY STEP why and how you came to the answer. It is ridiculous. She assigns crazy amounts of hw and a random project which is SO irrelevant. Also, prepare to be discussing 30 45 60 degrees on the unit circle all quarter.
She wants us to be prepared for calculus. She collects and grades homework twice each week. Exams are reasonable. If you do your homework and come to class, you'll learn what you need to.
Very helpful instructor. We had a quiz each week. Homework was checked off but not graded. I turned it in every time and got two extra credit points towards my grade. We spent about half the class time working on problems in groups. That helped me learn a lot.
I see a lot of negative comments on this site. I think those must be from students who didn't do their homework and want to blame someone for their poor grade. She wanted us to practice critical thinking. So instead of showing us a problem and then having us do one, she had us work on problems in groups and then she went over the hardest parts.
This class was very chill. No online homework. That was great! She lectured on some things. We worked in groups on some things. The class wasn't easy, but it was fun to go to.
She is a very nice person, but as a teacher... She is OK. You have to write by hand a lot of home work. We did a lot of group exercises at class (I didn't like it). Her explanation of new topics didn't clear. Actually you have to learn by yourself.
Be prepared to teach yourself EVERYTHING. Class time is not utilized efficiently and everything assigned is TEDIOUS. We had to do a "math essay" that took days to complete. Never even got the grade back. I hated this class so much. Pre calc is confusing but she makes it 100x more difficult than it has to be
First off- there is NO textbook. Everything is from some website that makes no sense. She doesn't take the time to go over questions in class but rather briefly rushes through the material and then you don't even have an actual textbook to refer to. She is not helpful during office hours either because she doesn't explain the material then either.
I can tell she really does want her students to understand the material, but it's really hard to do that with so many in-class graded group worksheets, without a lecture prior to it. Her tests are not hard, but take in to account that you probably have to self-study everything yourself. Overall she's a great woman, but maybe not the best teacher.
You need to study a lot and also study by yourself however she is very very good teacher, she helped me every time I went to her extra classes and I certainly learned a lot from her, recommend her if you like math and also if you are a hard worker =)
Need to study a lot and also study by yourself however she is very very good teacher, she helped me every time I went to her extra classes and I certainly learned a lot from her, recommend her if you like math and also if you are a hard worker =)
Jennifer really wants you to understand the materials. She gives a lot of handouts. Quiz every week but the handouts really helped! It's helpful to read the text beforehand so when you go to the class you can understand the materials better. Never hesitate to ask when you are confused!!! Jennifer is really nice and she's willing to help!
I took this class back in Spring of 2013. Her tests and quizzes are pretty difficult, however, doing the handouts in class, reading the textbook before coming to class, and doing MOST of the homework that is due that day will help. She's also willing to meet to help clarify if you are having difficulty. Definitely recommend this professor.
Jennifer is a conscientious instructor, and is eager to give assistance outside of class. She is very clear what she expects you to know on quizzes, and you will generally do well if you come prepared.
After many attempts of Math 1C at Foothill, I was able to pass after having her as a professor. Very mellow and easy to follow, step by step lectures that fully evaluated problem solving using clear language and written methods. (Using <x,y,z> vectors - other professors had not used this)... I left the class with a good understand and interest.
Math isn't easy, but she tries really hard to explain it clearly. Sometimes, her teaching techniques are not the best however. Very heavily worksheet and hw based, figuring out things yourself. Quizzes are basically altered hw questions, tries to make midterms as fair as possible and provide study materials. Up to student to put in effort
Prof. Sinclair is an amazing teacher. Prior to taking Integral Calculus with her, I failed the class with another instructor. I was very frustrated with the subject and wasn't too excited to take the class again. I'm glad that I took Prof. Sinclair's class because she knows how to adjust to the class and teach accordingly. Definitely recommend her!
You have to learn 75 % of the course material on your own. Heavy emphasis on homework: you have to create full formal homework packets (w/ a strict rubric) every other night if not every night. In class, she expects you to already have learned the material for the day. Class generally consists of classwork worksheets and very little explaining.
Her tests are easy as long as you do the past paper, but the homework format is quite strict. However, I will recommend her, if you want a good grade.
The tests were challenging. You have to be a good at problem solving with limited time. She's an alright teacher. Homework was very easy and the group works were good.
Best teacher at Foothill. She has a good personality, I never saw her angry. You can talk with her about anything. And the tests are similar to sample exams. I've taken several teachers here, but no one is better than her. Calculus is not easy, but she really minimizes the difficulty! go take her.
Professor Sinclair is one of the most helpful and caring teachers I've ever had. She really wants you to LEARN the material and as long as you work hard to LEARN it, she will reward you :] Also she is quite funny and definitely loves what she does, one of the best teachers I've ever had.
In general, it's a self-learning based class. It's hard to do the homework prior to the lecture and the lecture also didn't cover all concepts. If you are good at self-learning, then it's fine.
Mrs. Sinclair is the best math teacher I have ever had. She's patient and helpful and makes learning calculus painless.
This teacher has legitimately been the most inspiring math professor I've ever had. If you're willing to take the time to get to know her, she will ALWAYS be there and I can honestly say that I will definitely miss having her as my math professor when I transfer. I would DEFINITELY take this class if you're willing to participate and be a part.
Very patient and helpful. She helps me get into Columbia.
She's a kind, fair teacher with the students' best interests in mind. She expects you to turn in a lot of work though. She will only test on what she teaches you. Her test questions are clear, which is very nice, and she offers the chance to do corrections. Plus, if you really screw up the midterm, she will replace it with your score on the final.
I took this Online. I barely passed. Warning: The curriculum the instructor has chosen (active Calculus) is confusing and horrible when compared to Stewart. Anyways, wished she used stewart or another text. The class is dull (hardly any activity). Only 2 tests (midterm & final). But final can replace midterm, so thats a plus.
Sinclair's class was painful and boring. A lot of the classes were wasted as we didn't do anything. On top of that she wasn't a very good professor who barely taught anything and made us learn a lot on our own through active calculus, which is a poorly written online textbook. Avoid her class at all costs.
she is awesome!
Her exam questions are easy but tough grader if you do not mention or write everything in detail even though you get to the right answer by skipping a few steps. She is very helpful when you need her but very disorganized and expects you to know everything by reading the textbook before teaching the chapter!
I took some classes from this professor. She is a very nice person and always is ready to help you. But you MUST read test book BEFORE class since during the lectures she just comments the hardest points of the text. She gives good grade for exams and you can use a list of notes which you did.
Very hard class but she is there to help you the whole time. You MUST self study to do well in her class. She is one of the best math teachers I have had.
If you're taking her class online, prepare to participate in forum discussions a lot and to actually self-study. Active Calculus which is used for Modules is difficult to understand, Stewart is much better. Extra credits for midterms and final are a must for preparation!
Had one hell of a class with professor Sinclair! By far one of the best math professors at foothill! She is very patient, is willing to help, and is also very straight forward on tests. Would definitely recommend her class.
She is the best math teachers I have ever met at foothill. Tests, Mid terms, and final are super easy. No surprise. She tests what she teaches during classes. Lectures are clear. Take her if you want an A or even an A+. People who failed her class should consider their math level. Only absent-minded people will get lower a B in her class I swear
Her class is quiet difficult, but if you work hard you will do fine. She always helps if you go to her office hours. She usually stays way past her office hours if she sees more students who need help. She has 3 midterms and 1 final. The final is insane and the midterms range from medium easy to hard. Make sure you attend class.
Forget academia, She's one of the nicest human beings i've come across in my life. As a instructor, he exams are not easy, nor hard. very fair and motivate you to study and learn. She also tells you what you should know and will go out of her way to help you.
Lots of work, but clearly organized. Module quizzes are a must for checking understanding.
You have to work for it, but she's there to help if you have questions. You must read the book ahead of time or you won't be able to do much with the daily quizzes (group). Lecture is focused on the hardest parts. Don't take her if you want her to introduce you to each new idea from the book.
I took her 10 unit accelerated algebra class back in the winter of 2015. She is by far the best math teacher I have ever had, I learned so much. Professor Sinclair takes the time to engage with her students and is open, helpful and patient when you come to her for help. I highly recommend anyone take her class!
Jennifer is not only a kind person that really cares about her students, she understands that some students struggle with math and she will go out of her way to help you. She is a one of a kind professor and Foothill is lucky to have someone so caring.
To me, she was funny, fashionable, and very cheerful. I am a shy person but I can open my heart for her I was excited to go to her classes because she makes me to be positive and bright. She may be a little bit an emotional person as a roller coster but usually asked me for help. Thank you!
This Was The best professor I have ever taken a class with!!!
She wants you to pass and will be there for any help you need in order to pass, but you have to teach yourself the material. You use an online lecture system where you learn the material on your own at home and then come to class and do assignments based on what you learned. If you put in the effort you'll pass with an A no problem.
Jennifer is a really sweet teacher but she is not the greatest at explaining the material. She does let you redo incorrect homework and get a new grade which is very kind. She is super accessible outside of class and via email. She wants you to do well but just lacks the skill of explaining in a way people can understand. Nice lady.
SInclair is a really nice lady, Genuinely cares about students and is open to adjusting the class for students.
Worst math class yet. I took this as an online class over summer and I have taken AP Stat in the past before. The homework so far is tough because half of the subjects are not covered through the lecture pages. The work are long, but simple. They just take so much time to work with.
I'd say she's a solid choice for a stats professor. I struggled so much in her class without any help, but her assignments, especially the final review, is structured very similarly to the final. And she also organized us with our classmates in study groups before the final. Plus, it was a great introduction to using Excel for the first time.
Very lovely, Helped me a lot. Had office hours every day for about 12 hours (had 5 designated tutors for a 40 people class). This was my 3rd class with her. Anyone should take it. Explains easily and connects to real world. Even a 5 year old will understand what she says.
Professor Sinclair really wants to help you pass this course. I took this course to fulfill a prerequisite and went into it knowing that Math isnt my best subject so it would take a lot of focus. As long as you complete all of the homework you are sure to do well. She wasnt always available for extra help and clarification.
Easily my favorite math professor to date and one of the top teachers on Foothills faculty, Mrs. Sinclair genuinely cares. She does an excellent job of building up from the rudimentary concepts to the more difficult ones and makes sure you understand not only the what? but more importantly the why? of the lessons she lessons she teaches.
Super clear on grading and gave good feedback, slow grader though. For Math10 it is an online textbook with chapter quizzes (they are very easy). There are also a few discussions and 8 excel labs (she has how-to videos so they are easy). I put in about 2-5 hours/week (no required meeting). If you do the work you'll get an A.
Coming back to school I was always fearful of math, but this Professor took those worries away. She is always willing to help and encouraged me to go to the stem center/ tutor for additional help. At times the professor would be there and also continue to help me. She even encouraged me to take Statistics even though I didn't necessarily need it.
Professor Sinclair is the best math professor that I have ever had in college. She is quick to respond to emails. She cares about her students, opened up a forum to talk about how everyone is feeling during these challenging times. Her videos are very informative and I would definitely take her class again.
Wanted to get my math credit ahead of time before my senior year of high school. She was super caring and didn't penalize some late work. Labs had to be turned in on time but everything else can done on your own. Since I didn't have excel she accepted google sheets. Has office hours for anyone to drop pin which I really appreciated.
Professor Sinclair is super sweet and caring. She has really informative and thorough videos explaining how to do labs and she really takes the time to make sure her students understand what she's teaching. She also takes the extra time to learn how her students learn best which is really great! Definitely recommend her :)
Professor Sinclair is amazing and cares a lot about her students. A lot of the work is module driven so you will need to manage your time to make sure that your hwk and labs don't add up. Professor Sinclair is very understanding with assignments and late deadlines so definitely reach out if you need it. She explains things clearly in the lectures.
She is a caring teacher who is willing to spend extra time. Her grading system is pretty confusing though - it is impossible to get an A without doing extra credit. Make sure you understand what is required from the beginning to avoid disappointing end term surprises. This was my worst grade at Foothill, even though I scored 93% on required work
Professor Sinclair genuinely wants you to succeed and gives so many opportunities to do so. She provides multiple ways to learn (videos, textbook, lecture), and trusts that you will choose what works for you. The final is collaborative and if you keep up, it isn't super difficult. Also she gives timely feedback and deadlines are pretty flexible.
It's math, it's a difficult class. I approached her and told her I was struggling and she took an hour out of her day every week to tutor me. There is no better professor you can have to navigate math.
I dont know where to start. Its quite unfortunate that their isn't a better scale to determine which professor fits your learning style. However, this professor the BEST professors I've ever had and I'll tell you why - shes relates the material to everyday life, is cost effective for you, helps you learn more about life and your own goals.
Professor Sinclairs class was overall a very good experience. It moves quickly with several group projects and hours of video lectures every week but shes a very good, understanding teacher who is quite good at setting students up for success in her class. She offered several extra credit opportunities as well.
I was scared about statistics but she made Computational statistics easy and fun. She is way too organized and too smart. If you want to pass just follow her instructions!
Professor Sinclair is super nice and actually cares a lot for her students. She wants everyone to do well. Her exams are slightly difficult and she does cut off a lot f points sometimes but if u keep up with the work its manageable. No final exam so that was great. Would take her again
She is a super nice professor, she cares a lot about her students and she wants her students to be successful. But this course has a really heavy load of work. I wouldn't suggest If you are taking this class only for GE but if you are a person who loves math and want to know more about math, I would highly recommend her.
There's a major leap in her class around the middle of the quarter. Though she is accessible and helpful to her students, the assignment and quizzes she gave could be overloaded because of her messy and prone to delay schedule. Nevertheless, it's highly possible that she won't give penalties for late submissions.
Professor is unorganized and expectations unclear. Learning is completed off an online textbook and covers 3 lessons a week. Grading is on a "holistic scale" and grades are not released until the end of the quarter. Prepare to self study(for the asynchronous course)
Teaching felt almost like a flipped classroom - would have packets/readings that weren't "due" at every class time, but were heavily encouraged. Most of the learning was through the textbooks, with lectures in class being more review and less teaching. Very caring and happy to help students, but I didn't love the holistic teaching style as much.
Just an absurd amount of busy work for this class. > 20 hours/week easily. Get ready to teach yourself multivariable calculus...
She grades your overall comprehension of the subject. If she can see that you have proven in some manner that you understand the content then she will pass you. Not strict on due dates. As long as you follow through with the textbook-guided videos, stay in touch with her, and put in the effort then you will pass this class
This class is very easy IF you read a lot the practice on textbook, she doesn't have a zoom class but she does record some areas she will teach. There's ALOT of lab and lab quizzes, and short quizzes, requires a lot of critical thinking, word solving and there's no such thing as exam. Each are 1 points or 4 points.
Professor Sinclair is another fantastic instructor at Foothill. I was terrified about stats! Prof. Sinclair made those worries go away! She is very clear on her expectations and is very helpful when you just ask for help. She gives you tools that will helpfully succeed! I LOVE STATS NOW! I wish she were teaching in all my other classes too.
Uses holistic grading, allowing students to reflect on their progress in the class. Made me think about math class in a way I hadn't before! It was fully online and asynchronous, so we read the book to teach ourselves, but she answered all of my questions really well.
oh my GOD this woman gives so much busywork. this class is not hard but damn is it a PAINFULLY monotonous grind. she is very kind though.
Professor Sinclar was super kind and helpful! I could not have gotten the grade I did in stats if it was not for her Great feedback and office hours help. She made me truly understand the content and manage the class well. Using Excel was even a little fun to use. Did not like the group work, but it was minimum. Suggest redoing any labs if needed.
Do not take this professor unless you want to cry regularly. Loads of homework but no lessons. I took this class in person to get a hands-on learning experience but it is completely up to you to teach yourself. all she provides is an online textbook and excel which are petrifying to read and use.
Professor Sinclair's class was relatively laidback in the homework she assigned. The lectures were a little disorganized and I had to self teach myself a lot of material through Khan Academy as the textbook isn't the best. You will have to self teach with the provided resources but if that's not an issue, she is honestly pretty good.
The professor is disorganized, asking for preview activities but teaching the next topic instead of the planned one. Grades are unclear; assignments get no feedback, and students receive low grades due to unclear expectations. This lack of organization affects understanding, preparation, and confidence in the class structure.
1-2 Textbook readings, preview activities and 2-4 activity worksheets due every class. Unclear expectations of what is due/graded. Says something is not mandatory/being graded then grades us on it and requests document. Explains difficult topics in class and often provides answers to the workbook activities in class. Multiple attempts on each quiz.
Professor Sinclair is super helpful and makes stats engaging. Lots of quizzes and labs, but she's understanding and offers extra credit. Using Unstuckstudy alongside the textbook really helped me grasp the concepts. Overall, a rewarding yet manageable class.
Sinclair is a very fair grader and extremely enthusiastic about the material. She will first assign homework and textbook reading. The next class, she will go through some questions from the homework and will answer questions. Once a week, there is a learning check which is what determines your grade.
Such a nice person but a terrible teacher. Class was disorganized, grading was super unclear, she spent hours lecturing on extremely basic things (1.5hr lecture on how to submit something on Canvas???) She assigned quizzes every week but I had no idea what my grade was. AND SO MANY HANDOUTS!! She literally would give 8 sheets of paper per class.
she has a lot of eassy homework, and always have quizs. but she is a very caring teacher.
She is very helpful to answer all the questions. She taught the lectures by heart. So, I have a very good experience in this class.
Her Stats class is very easy if you check Canvas regularly and do the work. She's unorganized and gives SO MANY worksheets (you don't have to do them). She spends 2 hours explaining how to make a doc into a PDF. If u get a 75% on all assignments you have an A in the class. The final won't impact your grade. U will not learn anything abt statistics.
Sinclair is an outstanding statistics instructor. Her lectures are clear, well-structured. Her teaching alone was enough for me to understand everything. As a younger student, I really appreciated how kind and supportive she was—she treated me with the same respect and encouragement as everyone else. Her class was both challenging and enjoyable.
As long as you do the homework (which is graded on completion and is worth a small percentage of the grade) you will succeed in this class! Her test are set up so it's easy to succeed, as long as you keep up with activities and ask questions. She is super caring too and very accommodating :) She made calculus a lot less intimidating for me.
Sinclair took over Week 4 after Rolando got removed from our class :( Her teaching doesn't help you learn so be ready to teach yourself. We all had to cram to catch up to her other class a week before first test. She says she "prepares you to pass" which means a C- I took calc in HS & had to drop—luckily w/o a W—hope my friends are doing okay...
jennifer was the best teacher ive had so far like if she taught everything else id take all her classes. shes so caring and funny and she will answer all your questions so quick if u email or send her a msg. she gives out midterm/final practice tests thats so similar to the actual ones. take her class, i got A and im bad at math that says a lot
Let me start out with - I took a Statistics class before and dropped it because the math wasn't mathin'. Jennifer's class was well structured and I appreciated her being there for questions, no matter how silly they seemed. The grading is fair! If you have the chance and like a lot of lecture, explaining exactly how to do things, take her class :)
Professor Sinclair took over for another professor & the change was tricky for everyone. The class was very homework-heavy which is what scared many people off. Those of us who stuck through it were rewarded - she's very understanding & helpful, and even matched our final exam scores to any exams we under-performed in. She just wanted us to learn!
You're the one teacher that inspired me to reach my dreams and become a dental hygienist! Thank you
replaced rolando & the change was difficult. i think if i'd started w/ her from the get-go I would've succeeded, but she made us cram for our first exam a wk after she replaced rolando. had other stuff going on so ultimately i withdrew (got the W removed from transcript), but she does care and was super sweet, just didn't handle the swap well.
Clearly passionate about the topic, very refreshing.
This professor is passionate, she really loves the topic she is very sweet. However, if you are looking to get taught, this is not the class. It is very hw heavy, she doesn't lecture, you learn everything by reading the textbook and most of the time the videos linked don't help you. My main problem was we paid for this class and didn't get taught.
