Great teacher!!! She gives A LOT of work but it's EASY and you do become more comfortable speaking infront of an audience!!! Loved her class!!!

SHE IS A CRAZY TEACHER, her standards for the class is WAY too high. She talks a lot and that delays class especially if you were up all night doing her speech and BOOM! she starts talking and the whole class period is over. Talks too much about her life.

AMAZING! Will use this information in my life. Already have, in my job, other classes. One of the only classes where I know the other students -- great learning experience! Interesting speeches too!

I find MS. Steele to be remarkably refreshing in her enthusiasm and passion for her areas of expertise and life in general. She brings a wide range of knowledge, education and real life experience to her audience. Blessed with a nice speaking voice and a good sense of humor, Ms. Steele helps others be their best through effective communication.

She is a great teacher, at first I thought she was going to be a easy one, but she isnt. some get the wrong impression of her but i believe she is doing her job plus more. speech is boring and NO ONE likes it. i hate it but i think i learned more about life then i did about speech. she isnt really THAT bad.. just very passionate..

This class is easy if you do a couple things: 1. Go to class 2. Pay attention 2a. Do whats asked. I started this class a day late, but I missed a lot. I was still able to get an A but it took some work on my part.

Professor Steele is probably the best speech professor at Barry University. She is very informative and extremely organized. She has improved my public speaking abilities through her speech guidelines and organizational strategy. The class is great! If you want to learn how to be an effective public speaker, then take this class. It has helped me!

She is very helpful. all you have to do to pass is do what she asks and have everything ready when it is do. she is extremely nice!!! Take this course!

Iâ??ve learned to much this past semester from Professor Steele. Skills I can take forward into the real world. A lot of work but well worth it. She really wants you to learn. She is a great Professor. Sheâ??s nice, very positive and wants everyone to love her class not for her but for your future. TAKE HER!!!

Coach Steele is a great professor; she's enthusiastic, & passionate. Her loud voice/personality, & expressive emotions may throw you off a bit, but her determination balances it all. She gives a lot of constructive criticism & blends it with her sense of humor, which you may or may not understand. Either way, don't take it too personal, please!

Took this course last summer, it was challenging. So happy I did. As I finish this semester, I realize how much this course impacted my success. I learned organize myself, how to motivate myself, how to present my ideas both written and orally, how to communicate with my professors, my boss, even my parents. My grades went from a C to A's.

Just gave a fantastic presentation in another class -- nailed it! Followed the formula, before this class I trembled and hated speaking up. Even got a raise because my boss saw the difference. Don't procrastinate. My frustrations were my own fault.

AMAZING! Passionate, engaged instructor. I learned SO much. Took a public speaking class at another university when I transferred in, credit didn't transfer, at first I was frustrated for having to take this course but it was SO worth it. I am a much better communicator and closer to my dreams. FANTASTIC experience.

There is this idea that people have, the idea that speech is easy. But it is not the talking part that you are working on, but rather the communication aspect. Getting your message across effectively. A lot harder than it sounds believe me. I owe a portion of my confidence and work ethic to Coach Steele. She DOESNT WANT YOU TO FAIL, thats on you!!

I believe that the people who wrote negative comments are just lazy. In the beginning she provides you a sheet of the total point necessary to get an A. She also gives you tge the necessary tools to pass. SHOW UP TO CLASS& DO THE WORKA

Her class had way too much work for a speech class and expect too much from students. She has too much emotional issues that effect the lecture. I advise people not to take her if you have 4 or more classes!

Coach Steele is honestly great! She is a professor who clearly and passionately cares about her students and their education. She makes sure that her class contains much rigor with the appropriate balance of fun. She offers a decent amount of extra credit and as long as her course work is complete you are sure to pass.

Definitely take Coach Steele if you have problems with/fear of giving presentations or just speaking to crowds in general. by the end of this course those problems/fears will be gone . skip class/speeches you wont pass. lots of chances to get extra credit. no tests. final was 1 question. gives great feedback on how to improve your speeches

A lot of work, but most of the stuff you learn will be applicable for your whole college career and even your life. Sure, it's a lot of work but it will be worth it. Her methods will help you conquer the uneasiness of public speaking

Although it was a lot of work. Coach Steele was pretty fun and you'll get to do speech assignments on interesting topics. If you are stage fright or if you are shy and hate speaking in front of a crowd you will soon get over that fear in Coach Steeles class. It was an amazing experience. Amazing professor who cares about her students.

Great professor! I learned something new in each class & she taught me that public speaking skills will follow me outside of the classroom! Coach Steele is inspirational! She showed me that public speaking wasn't the end of the world! Because of her speech formula I got over my fear of public speaking & was inspired to become a teacher! Coach Steele helped me overcome my shyness and fear of public speaking! She takes the time to help her students if you are willing to do the work! She created a speech formula and wrote a how to guide on writing a speech & delivering and it works! So easy to use and it put together my slides and note cards! I'm so happy I choose to take her!

Awesome Coach! Its not an easy A class, but you learn a lot from her! Her organizational strategies really help organize my thought processes and her speech formula app made writing speeches a breeze and I noticed her app helps when writing a research paper! you will not regret her course if you're truly serious about becoming an better/effective communicator. Without a doub, I would recommend her to anyone looking to submerge themselves into becoming an effective communicate. Very different from the usual class environment where you work for the sole purpose of a grade. It's more like a workshop.

Her class will feel like a speech workshop instead of classroom experience. Always make sure to read the chapters assign. If you are shy, she will make you drop that and force you to open up more .Not Much test but get ready to do long papers with the use of her book and app .

Steele, is a great profesor! She is genuine at heart, and makes it a point to let you know that she cares. She will ALWAYS try to help you, you just have to make the effort. I am a busy student, 18 credits, and I work 2 jobs. The class isn't difficult, in fact it feels like a workshop. I write a lot and she made speech writting so EASY! Take her.

Steele is amazing, she is not a tough grader, and is very clear about what she wants from her students. Show up to class, just BE THERE and you will understand everything. She is always available to help anyone out, and literally tries her hardest to not let her students fail. You can't get any better than Steele, she actually cares about you.

Professor Steele is full of energy! She is so caring, and she truly loves her students. As long as you show up, try, and let her know you care about your grades, she will try to help you as much as possible. She uses a textbook, but she gives you the PDF, all you need to do is print out the assignments.

You rarely get an instructor that gives you a 120%. Coach Steele is just the best and if you just show her the respect that she definitely deserves and do your stuff you'll pass with a good grade. Her class is the class I look forward to all week! Sure some people would see it as a lot of work but it's definitely worth it. She's an amazing person.

Honestly if you're someone who cant take the heat don't take this class. There's a reason why half of these comments say "coach Steele" because her teaching style is similar to a coach. She's going to push you that's for sure, but you become a lot more comfortable with public speaking ahead of time rather than later.

Best professor ever taken. Entered the class terrified with a 1 min cutting from MLK left the class confidently delivering a Persuasive Speech on Immigration. My anxiety was over 150 and dropped to 76 -- life changing. You have to work but change doesn't happen without effort. Thank God I got this prof!

Prof. Steele, A professional who makes the student work for their grade by implementing her speech modality by way of her own book. Shes diligent and passionate about speech and brings out what you believe you dont have out of you. Shes tough, but shes also very caring and understanding. Those who dont like her are mostly lazy and apathetic.

Coach Steele is very passionate about public speaking. She is very kind and is willing to help you during her office hours. You will do a lot of speeches and she is a bit strict with how you deliver your speech. She'll make you do it again but she just wants to help you. Manage your time wisely she makes you earn your grade.

This professor can be really tough on you, but she does it in a way to push you. At the end, you learn so much from taking the course! This class is very easy. If you dont skip class and do all the work, then you will definitely get an A in the class. I took her class my freshman year and I am happy to say that She is a great professor overall!!!!

Mrs. Steel is very tough but she is an amazing teacher. She will make you a way better speaker. There are a lot of assignments and speeches but it will make a difference at the end.
