Her explanations were VERY good and lecture was generally entertaining. She was very fair with assignments, tests, and quizzes. She is very helpful and is very accessible outside of class.

Fantastic instructor!
A class act all the way. The best teacher since sliced bread, toasted, with a bit of cinnamon sugar. Definitely got the moves.
She is a great professor. Very clear in her lectures. Awesome personality!!!
She is a good teacher, tries to learn everyones name in a class of 200 people
She is GREAT teacher!!! Take this class!
No, in fact she is that good. One of the very best.
had her a little more than one year ago and imho thought she was just so so. occasionally says something interesting, but normally boring.
huh? She says interesting things constantly! Great prof!
Amazingly detailed and helpful. The tests are a lot harder than the ones given in other math 112 classes. Nice, nice lady.
Personally, she was very confusing because she would teach the obvious and wouldn't mention stuff that was important.
She knows everyone's name in a 200-300 person lecture class. She lays it out for the tests, but you have to be prepared as in all classes that the tests might be more difficult than the practice tests.
Great professor very funny and very nice. She tries so hard to remember everyone's name - and usually gets it right. She's clear when she lectures and writes everything down on the overhead. Tests are difficult but overall she made math class better than I could imagine.
As in all big classes, you have to find help if you want help. She is willing, you just have to approach her. She is very nice and approachable (that sounds so passe). Class is difficult. Tests are pressed for time and quite difficult, but this is a departmental standard, not her fault. 8/10
funny, outgoing, make the class more fun to be in...
My favorite professor ever! She's great! I loved the class.
I took Taggart for 111 and was so glad I got into her 112 class. She explains all the concepts very clearly and uses lots of examples to make sure you understand. Also had relatively good handwriting compared to other professors and is very organized.
Great Prof!
Awesome teacher! She explains concepts very well and is interested in whether or not kids understand the application.
um...scared me when she said that this was the hardest math class at the UW. and its turning out to be true.

She's an awesome teacher and down to earth and approachable... not your typical professor.
She's an awesome prof. Take her.
She's trully an awsome teacher.Explains everything from beggining to end (perfct for any studnt). She helps, is nice, and her voice just makes you want to do Math. She was made to be a math teacher. You have tons of HW but she is not to blame 'cuz you have to do it anyways(it comes with the class),It is an advantage to have her.Best Math Teacher ever.
Class can be difficult at times, especially if math is not your focus, but is generally easy and Ms. Taggart adds to the experience. Clear voice, good demonstrations, very personable. Invites (and gets) class participation - fairly rare in a lecture class
she tends to explain the simple forms of whatever you are learning, and expects you to learn how to do the more complicated things. Shes really nice, and makes class interesting, but you have concentrate a lot!!
easy class. if you go to class, good grades are guaranteed. professor knows what she's talking about. definately recommended :)
She is very sweet in person but overly caffinated in class. assignments over the top.
She makes concepts more difficult than required and her weekly tests are designed to make you mess up. Her grading is really bad, no curves and often misses office hours. Takes several days to respond to an email.
Bad, just bad
she's pretty good. get nichifor if you can, but taggart makes class interesting. you don't have to show up to lecture, just go to quiz sections. she loves her job and is definitely there to help you!...just beware cuz she goes anal if you talk in class
She's very smart. She knows her stuff. I don't mind going to her lectures because they're chock-full of relevant information and she makes it interesting (well...as interesting as calculus can be anyway...). The calc for life sciences series is a good one for non-math related life science majors.
i took her for math 111 and 112. very upbeat and helpful. i thought she was a good teacher, but i knew alot of other people that disagreed. maybe because i didn't think it was too hard of a class...
The other math 144 students probably flunked the the class or don't know calc, because the class was not that hard. Very easy from the beginning, this class is a lot easier than the 124-126 series. Had her for 145, and the class was just as easy.
Learning is always up to the student- and she has made sure of that.
I really did not like her class. Her tests are crazy! If you take her class...no matter how much hw you happen to do or how much you study from past tests she posts...its useless...if you ask questions in class, be sure to know she wont put it on the test...so ask all the hard questions :)! My opinion...don't take her!!!!! There is better to take!
Taggart made lectures fun and really clear. She would write out all of the examples and every step to take so that you could refer back to them later! I don't think I've ever had a math teacher as clear as her and she is very exited to help you learn the material.
Hard Hard HARD. The tests were ridiculous...if there is one thing to remember...study the ARROW problems. Its what saved me.
Fun, spunky teacher who seems genuinely concerned about teaching you the material. Lectures are sometimes drawn out a little too much and aren't really required for such basic math.
Prof Taggart is amazing...extremely helpful and makes students feel comfortable. Her teaching style may not work for everyone but it definitely did for me.
very funny and entertaining prof! Never a dull day in math with her. she is great at explaining concepts and gives lots of good examples. hard tests though
First of all, very good teacher. Teaches using examples so focus is on learning to recognize particular problems and remembering how to solve them, as opposed to comprehending the actual math your learning. (I don't learn this way, maybe you do) Most learning will be on your own, but she is very available and helpful if you ask.
Taggart is a great teacher. She is very approachable, and has good knowledge of the content. I thought she did a great job teaching 111. Don't slack off, but it isn't a terribly hard class.
Wonderful teacher. Had her for Math 126 and her tests were not difficult, homework doable, and overall not a hard class to succeed in. Love her!
Math 111 is a complete joke, but somehow she manages to take it seriously. She teaches well and offers a lot of resources to help you succeed.
Professor Taggart is a great teacher!! She makes everything interesting and clear. I acutally hated math, but her class was doable... She focuses on what is important and gives examples during the lecture which helps me to study later for exams and so on. Homework is very overwhelming though.. However, her exams are pretty straight. I loved her cla
one of the coolest teachers on campus! she makes learning math fun!
She makes the class fun, and uses comprehensible analogies. Her examples are clear and she listens to the students' questions
She is super nice and hilarious. She is always in a happy mood and enthusiastic. She is an awesome teacher, very clear on teaching the concepts, and makes sure you understand it. She is harder than other math teachers, but do the arrow problems, old exams, and practice!! and you be fine. she hates people that talk in class that makes her mad
Very good teacher. Enjoyable, concise and clear...take her in the spring time and she'll teach you how to tap dance maybe if you're lucky. If you do the homework, do her practice problems and ask any questions you'll be good. She is really helpful in office hours as well and really tries to find alternative explanations if you have trouble.
Awesome professor. I usually hate math, but Dr. T made it understandable and (dare I say it?) fun. Her enthusiasm is infectious. If you need math credits, I highly suggest taking math 111/112 with her.
Super super energetic! She uses plenty of examples and overall this class is easy, especially if you took calc in high school. Do the homework and show up to quiz section and you can't get a bad grade (unless you really really suck at math).
She talks and writes so fast you cannot understand her. Basically her notes are her text if you can't write down her book, you're in trouble. A textbook that you can learn from is "How to prove it" I wish I had discovered it before the class was over. I wouldn't reccomend her for any class. Expect to spend lots of time for homework.
This was definitely a hard class! A lot of pondering before writing the actual proofs. Be sure to email Dr Jenni or go to office hours, because I think that helped me the most. This class is a lot of trial and error, and you really need to learn from your past mistakes to improve. The textbook was pretty useless, pretty much for HW only.
Brutally chill
Amazing teacher! I wish all my professors gave notes this clear and relevant. Just listen in class and you should understand everything.
Best math prof I've ever had! She makes everything extremely clear and her notes are fantastic and helpful for homework. Lecture is never dull. She's extremely enthusiastic and somehow makes you excited to learn math. I wish I could have her for every math class in the future.
The best math teacher I have ever had. Her exams are more difficult compared to other exams written by other professors but she makes up for it with excellent teaching. Highly recommend Dr. Taggart.
I love Prof Jenni. She is very enthusiastic about Math and encourages the class to learn all the time. Exams and homework are alright if you study hard. office hours and study center are helpful so def take advantage of them! Highly recommend her
Best math teacher ever. Makes everything make sense, excellent at answering questions. If you have the opportunity to take a class by her, do it.
very animated teacher. she knows her stuff and she does a pretty good job of explaining the material considering how difficult it is. the class moves very quickly but if you take notes and keep up with the homework you'll be fine.
Awesome professor. Prof Taggart is not only interested in math, but interested in teaching. She makes coming to a math lecture more fun than you might think possible. Like any math class, there is a lot of homework, but the homework is completely relevant and helps the student prepare for the tests. If you do the homework, the tests will be a easy
Very good at describing concepts and giving additional examples. Tests weren't too hard and she's very effective at teaching the material.
Very organized and lectures are very clear. There are no suprises on her tests. Very enthusiastic and I would highly recommend her for any class.
There's no doubt that she's a good lecturer! Crystal-clear explanations with good examples. Pay attention in class and do the homework will ensure you a decent grade. Her tests, though, are comparatively harder than other professors. But her excellent teaching will help you out!
Taggart is a great teacher. She is extremely enthusiastic about teaching and her enthusiasm even makes math interesting. She's great at explaining and is happy to provide help if needed. Her tests are difficult and cover a lot of material but if you go to class and study you should be fine.
Jennifer is great, she lectures every class, so expect lots of note taking. HW is 40%, and by far the toughest component of Math300. The midterm and final are a joke, if you can do the HW, you should have no problem at Midterm/Final. THIS IS A PROOF-ORIENTED CLASS, BE WARNED!
If you are a math major, but not a "mathematician", then TAKE MATH 300 from Dr. Taggart. For those who are "mathematicians", you should STILL take her class. She is very easy going, very thorough. Makes herself available to those struggling as well as those well versed in proofwriting. She is by far one of the BEST teachers in the department!
Dr. T is an amazing teacher. Her lecture notes are beautiful, you won't need to even touch the book as long as you attend class. She has a real enthusiasm for math and teaching. Take her class if you get the chance.
Dr. T is a great prof. Although the material you're learning isn't super difficult, she comes up with ways to add her own little spin to the problems and to her lectures. GO TO LECTURES. GO TO QUIZ SECTION. You learn something new every lecture (unless it's a review sesh) and the lectures are fairly entertaining. Study the arrow problems/old exams.
Mrs. T is one of the better professors that I have had. You actually learn things in her lectures and although she sometimes yells at students during class for talking. She is very fair and her test represent what we went over in the homework and in class.
She is a really good professor and is always willing to help as long as you follow here rules and refrain from talking during class.
Dr. Taggart is such a great professor! She made the class manageable because she was so organized and she gave crystal clear explanations. Super enthusiastic and willing to help. She makes math almost fun-take her class if you have the chance.
This is a difficult class but Dr. Taggart was extremely helpful and clear. I highly recommend her for any math class if have taken 126 with her as well. She may be a nerd turd but she is freindly, funny and makes math pretty painless. Highly recommend.
good explanations. But throws trick questions on the FINAL. BEWARE! Put effort into the homework. I spent 15+ hrs a week on homework alone and I still almost failed even when going to the IC.
This was a difficult class, I managed a 3.6 in Math 112, but got a 2.4 in Math 111 (...if you don't understand the material and it doesn't "click" don't take the class: there was nothing different in classes except I SUDDENLY understood 112) Dr. T herself is a bit of a spaz, she's very anxious and intimidating, likeable however.
This professor's voice is little awkward. It is hard class. Without friends, very hard to survive.
Such an amazing and helpful teacher, makes sure you know the material before moving on. Makes you feel really comfortable and despite how daunting this class seems (especially for a freshman like myself) she made herself as available as possible for help. To do well you NEED to attend class, and her office hours are beyond helpful!! She rocks.
grading system is wack. horrible, dont take math from her.
She was somewhat interesting in lecture. didn't enjoy the class, and she doesn't care about your success as much as I have seen other prof in the past. I would suggest taking the 120 series or finding a teacher that actually gives better explanation on the chapters.
She's great. Sometimes makes quirky comments and says funny things, but overall that just helps make the material more memorable. I'm a fairly competent person and to me it feels like she explains the crap out of the subject in pretty much every lecture in what I find an easy and interesting way. Go to class, do the homework, you'll be fine.
Great Prof. Go to class, quiz sections, do your hw, and the practice exams and you'll do fine. No surprises on the exams, she tests what she teaches.
Easy class, very good professor. She teaches systematically from one topic to the next. Homework may be a little overwhelming but put in the time and you'll do well in the class. Attendance is a must, she goes through a lot in the class and it will be hard to catch up on your own.
She is a really great prof! Lectures are well organized and clear, and she explains everything very well. Much less hw than in 124/125. Her tests are fair, based on the hw. She has a good sense of humor and is helpful and nice. 10/10!
One of my all time favorite professors at the UW. Like everyone else has said, do the homework, go to lecture, go to quiz sections, and do the practice exams and you'll be fine. She teaches very clearly and is more than happy to help if you don't get something. She's also very friendly- I used to stick around just to chat with her. :)
Great professor!! Awesome at breaking concepts down and making them easy to understand. Very helpful, responds quickly to emails and discussion board posts. Take a class with Dr. T!
She's so kind and interesting! She always make things really clear. I highly recommend you to study with Dr. T!! ^ ^
She's very clear at explaining things and if you go to class you'll learn the material. Unfortunately Math 126 is also really hard and her tests are pretty hard too.
She's extremely thorough and straightforward and you will NOT fall asleep in her class. A's are obtainable with her.
This class is so easy. Take it to raise your 1.0 GPA. Attended only 1/4 of all lectures and got a 4.0.
Love Dr. T! She is a great, enthusiastic lecturer and clearly explains when students have questions. Very helpful in the MSC as well. The class isn't difficult, it's just comprehending all of the vocabulary and applying the problems that can be difficult. Gives sample midterms to help studying.
Never have had a teacher that is so organized and puts so much effort into helping out her students. Lectures are really easy to follow, especially if you have already taken pre-calc or calc from high school. Her quirkiness makes math fun somehow. Genuinely cares more than any teacher I have met. Highly recommend!
Very enthusiastic about concepts and passion for math. Gives alternate explanations and very helpful with online discussion board. Learned a lot even tho her repetition can get dull, she makes sure that her students understand concepts from all different angles. Really dedicated to helping students learn and a all around great professor!
Dr. Taggart was amazing!!! People told me that Math 126 was easier than 125, but I found 126 a lot harder.. There were a lot less hw in 126 compared to 125 tho! But Dr. Taggart was really passionate and a GREAT lecturer! Her notes were organized and her tests were fair.
Awesome lecturer! She really knows how to explain seemingly abstract concepts and made calc interesting! Always has a smile on and truly enjoys teaching; she has the best analogies for explaining math which made learning the subject way easier. Midterms were alright, study hard, HW barely counts but don't skip it. Highly recommend!
One of the best math teachers I've ever had. Very clear and organized. A bit nutty about her enthusiasm with the subject, but that makes it fun to learn from her. Tests are very fair. Just don't talk in class!
Taggart is a great instructor!!Makes the material very clear and is always will to offer a second explanation if needed. She also has great office hrs, so if you need extra help she is happy to make time. Class was pretty easy if you went to class and did all the homework.
This is a difficult class, but Taggart is a great teacher. Her tests aren't easy, but they're fair, and going to her lectures is absolutely necessary. Also, don't waste money on the textbook, it comes online with the homework.
The book isn't necessary, you just need it for the online code for homework. Taggart is a GREAT lecturer and professor... really "dumbs" things down and makes the concepts easy and simple to understand. She's very fast-paced but it actually made math FUN. I really wish I could take her for more classes, she was awesome. Love her!!!
Great teacher; very passionate and enthusiastic about math. Examples covered in class are relevant to whatever struggles the student may come across in the class. Only personal problem I had with her is how she often snaps at students for talking quietly in class. Other than that...take her as your math professor!
She provides really good explanations for everything, going to lecture is a must! Although I really liked how she posted her notes online if you missed class. She was very helpful and an enthusiastic teacher, I just thought her tests were tricky sometimes. I ended up with a 2.7 in her class though. It's not her fault though, I just suck at math.
One of my favorite professors! Her explanations are crystal clear, and she tries to make everyone to understand math. She answers questions effectively in lecture, and she even posts lecture notes online! She preps you really well on exams with many review materials. Just don't talk in class and pay attention, and you will do well.
Ridiculously hard mid and final. I don't know what's wrong with her! Pls go to professor loveless but not her!!!!!
Quality lectures that were personally almost all that was needed to do decently on exams. Her notes are very straightforward and concise so that everything is worth writing down. Don't be scared by any reviews but don't underestimate the class completely either: going to lectures with your attention and about 2 hours of studying notes/text a week.
I've learned so much from her lectures. She doesn't regard anything as "too easy", and explains everything with a great clarity and detail.I feel lucky that I took Calc 3 with her! Still using a lot of stuff from that class in higher level math classes.
Probably my favorite math professor I've had, she's extremely clear, very organized, has clear handwriting, and doesn't skip steps in her work ever. She certainly works hard at teaching and it definitely shows, I would definitely take classes with her again given the chance!
The clarity, enthusiasm, and structure that professor Taggart provided made this class one of my favorite thus far. She is also funny and extremely helpful. If I could take her again, for any class (I mean ANY), I would.
Very good overall lecturer. She gives good examples and illustrations and uses class time very well. Math 126 is a bad curriculum but she teaches it quite well. Her midterms are fair with reasonable questions.
By far the best math professor I have had. She was enthusiastic and her lectures are extremely well organized. Definitely go to office hours, she is very helpful and fun to talk to. I wish she taught more of the classes that I have to take!
Really liked this professor. Her lecture notes were very clear and her explanations were detailed and made sense. Her tests can be difficult though. I did pretty well on the midterms but bombed the final so my final grade wasn't as good as I would have liked it to be. I'm still glad that I took this class with her
Professor Taggart is a great professor and really does care about whether the students learn the material or not - however, the class IS hard if you don't study a lot (and I'm terrible at studying). She is definitely in the top 3 math professors I've had at the UW.
DO NOT TAKE MATH 111 WITH TAGGART !!!! HARDEST MATH CLASS EVER TAKEN!!!!
This quarter with Taggart has overall been really good. I love the way she teaches, she is very clear and explains everything. You do need to be in class though. Test files are helpful for tests, but grading is pretty tough!
Jenni is a nice, funny, and extremely intelligent professor, but this class is one of the hardest I have taken at the UW. Going to class and taking notes is NOT ENOUGH for this class - in order to get good grades on the weekly homework you have to study A LOT. The homework questions are not like the examples in class, which was very frustrating.
Taggart is the best professor I've had at UW so far. Her explanations in lecture are extremely clear and she is MORE THAN WILLING to help you in office hoursby appointment. Grading is mostly based on 2 midtermsfinal, but that's standard. She's very fair in what she expects.. Highly recommend. Take math with her if you can. Got a 3.1
Dr. T was really great. Intro to Real Analysis is a tough subject, and she knows it. She doesn't make the problems any easier on tests or homework, but the proofs she has you do are always doable as long as you put in the hours. It was a 3 credit class, but I worked like it was 5+ credits. However, I never got so much out of a class. Fantastic
Taggart has gotten way better this quarter in explaining stuffs. 112 is easier than 111. Grading scale is a bit crazy tho. 97%+4.0. DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK!!!!! YOU DO NOT NEED TEXTBOOK AND GO TO LECTURE CUZ SHE POSTS ALL LECTURE NOTES ONLINE AND BASICALLY ALL YOU DO IN CLASS IS JUST COPYING STUFFS CAN BE DOWNLOADED ONLINE.
Class is super tough. I have heard other people saying Loveless is way easier and it is true. If you have a chance, stay away from her.
I'm conflicted. Dr. Taggart is one of the best lecturers I've had at UW. However, this class was ridiculously difficult. I often felt that I was missing the forest for the trees in this class -- we would spend one or two entire classes on a single proof, with few discussions about how to apply the proofs. The homework was extra tough.
It's high level calc, so expect the tests to be tough because the class is just tough. She made it fun to learn though. 10/10 would recommend if you have to take calc.
Amazing prof - enthusiastic about math and also provides all material needed. Almost always you won't need to look anything up outside of lecture notes to do well on tests. Tells you everything you need to do to be successful. If you're not a textbook reader, you'll need to attend class to keep up with the material.
Very good at explaining the concepts, and the tests aren't too hard.
She's a really good lecturer and she explains everything very clearly. If you attend class, you probably won't ever need to use the textbook. Her tests are reasonable for a calculus class.
Good lecturer - uploads notes online so you don't have to read textbook. Beware of her during office hours - she converts from her jolly happy self in lecture to a grumpy and VERY irritable old woman. Low tolerance for explaining. Tends to be stern so approach her carefully and maybe you'll get onto her good side. Lectures well but needs to retire.
Dr. Taggart is one of the best math teachers I've ever had in my life. She explains very intricate concepts so incredibly clearly, it's like she's teaching multivariable calculus to pre-schoolers. As a math major, my biggest fear is that I won't have another class with her. Go to her office hours -- DO IT, even if you don't have a question to ask.
She is soooooo GOOOOOODDDD
Lectures were good and she was very clear about what to expect on the tests. Tests were what you would expect and she was nice about giving credit for work even if you couldn't answer one or two questions
This class was awful. Tests were exceedingly difficult, explanations by the professor were poor, and the professor lacked enthusiasm to teach. The professor actually said to not ask her questions about missed points on exams. I had to hire a tutor just to get through her class and this is from someone who normally 4.0's math classes. Don't take!
Prepare, prepare, prepare. Don't sluff off for the first midterm like I did and get a 2.1 near the beginning of the quarter. Thank goodness I eventually got it bumped up to a 3.4. Taggart is probably one of the best Math 126 profs, her lectures whiz by and she posts all her notes online. She has a sense of humor and explains her steps very well.
Prof. Taggart was great at giving both visual and mathematical descriptions of why the math worked. Her lectures were helpful and entertaining as she tried to use her arms and legs to emulate the x, y and z axis. Definitely the best calculus teacher I have ever had.
I cannot say enough good things about this professor. This is a Math class, you are going to have to work. However, if you are willing to work, this is the right professor for you. My advice? Go to her office hours, go to the Math Resource Center when she tutors, pay attention and take organized notes. Ask questions, be a grown up.
Literally one of the worst teachers I've ever had. She unnecessarily complicates easy subjects with confusing explanations, and the majority of the material was learned from my T.A. Additionally, she sounds like she is crying 100% of the time (which makes lecture almost unbearable) and stops class if students use phones or laptops, even for notes.
Very good lecturer -- thorough and organized. E-mailed her a lot for WebAssign help and she was always happy to help.
She is great! Super organized and gives clear explanations. If you put in the effort, it is easy to do well! Do old tests and read through your notes to succeed!
Professor Taggart's teaching style is well-suited for 126 - clear, straightforward, and visual. She basically writes your notes for you as she lectures, which is nice. Make sure to do lots of practice problems for her tests.
I wasn't thrilled about having to take math in college but Dr. Taggart made it much more bearable with her wonderful help and support. She had very understandable lectures and standards. The class wasn't easy probably due to the subject matter but I ended up doing better due to her teaching.
Dr. Taggart is one of my favorite professors at UW. She's humorous and a good lecturer, her lectures are clear and easy to understand, and she explains concepts students do not understand over and over during lectures giving out extra examples until students understand the content. Her exams are straight forward and past exams are all uploaded.
Lectures are very clear and thorough. Tests are very straight forward and similar to lecture notes. She is a great lecturer. Sometimes I think she goes a little too slow but I'd much rather have that than a professor who goes to fast.
She is knowledgeable and a great lecturer. She has clear expectations and wants students to understand the material and succeed. Her tests can seem hard at first, but if you do the homework and past exams you should be fine. She is always available to help as well.
DO NOT TAKE HER COURSE, EVER. That's what I am gonna tell you.
She has good skill for teaching students, but her exams are so much harder than all other teachers'. So if you want to get a high gpa, do not choose this teacher.
A good lecturer after all, but seldom post anything like demonstration about solutions to questions in tests or homework, tough grader. Her tests are usually hard than other professors'.
Professor Taggart is the best mathematics teacher I met. I really appreciate her teaching humor and class atmosphere. Compare with other professor's, Taggart's exam is the easiest one. I'm looking forward to take her class again.
She's really funny in terms of teaching. The course was very easy if you have some analytic geometry backgrounds, but I still went to every class for the amusing lecture. No weekly quizzes, and 10% of homework points are dropped. Easy 4.0.
Great lectures, great explanations, great person, very difficult tests though. Her past tests were much easier (from the archive) than this quarter.
Taggart's lecture is really funny and she is also very humorous. She make calculus not that boring and tough. However the grading was tough, but it probably because of the policy of the department. The two midterms are easier than Webassign questions, but the final is more difficult. Anyway, Taggart is a good teacher and her class is worth to take.
Her grading is irrational, I received the worst grade even though i got 100% on almost all of the homework and above average on the fist two exams. I only didn't do as well on the final. I emailed her to discuss but she was unaccommodating and displayed a lack of genuine concern or care. I would never recommend anyone to take her classes.
Clear instructions and lecture. Go to her homework help sections and office hours, very helpful for doing for homework and understand the material better
Straightforward class. Examples she goes over class is similar to problems on exams.
Dr. Taggart has clearly taught Math 112 for years and years. She's got her lectures down to the tee and the way she writes everything out is super helpful. The best way to describe her is a mom. Her lectures are good and she gives the whole exam archive which is very helpful for the test. She doesn't provide a ton of resources like Loveless did.
Go to lectures, quiz sections, and do webassigns by yourself. Do not make silly mistakes in midterms or final. Exams are pretty straightforward, just like the examples she covered during the lectures; so you don't have to worry about exams that much. It's not that hard as long as you study hard and enough at least two days before exams.
terrible test maker she put a very complicated question on SP17 exam 2 (question 2) didn't even consider our time is limited :(
Took this course as a prerequisite for Foster and this class hurt my GPA. Though Jennifer provides opportunities for extra practice, grading is tough and the class is highly homework and worksheet dependent. Notes were difficult to understand at times and submitted through canvas from a document camera. Made our final ridiculously hard.
Lectures way too fast, doesn't give enough time for students to understand the material being taught. You're thinking about one thing, then she's already on to the next. Tests do not accurately reflect past midterms; if you forget one specific instance of an equation to write on your notes sheet for exams, it is very easy to lose points. Don't take
I definitely love Dr. Taggart! She is smart, funny and helpful. She uploaded every lecture notes on canvas. Her instructions were clear and classes were interesting. She did her best to help students succeed. Her office hours were very useful. I am so sorry to see people posting complaints here. Do study hard before making complaints please.
This professor always gives lectures that are clear, easy-to-understand, interesting, and engaging. I always felt like I understood the material after going to lecture. However, her tests aren't so easy but they are doable. Be prepared for a possible curveball on her exam. Overall, I really liked the class but I had to work very hard for my grade.
She just loves math so much and its so apparent in her teaching. She's always really excited and willing to help you. Yeah, it's a hard class but its multi-variable calculus so thats to be expected
Hard class, but she's very funny and explains concepts fairly well. Her tests are pretty tough, so be prepared to put forth your best effort to get a good grade.
Dr. Taggart is an amazing lecturer. I've never been good at math but the way she explains it in class is so clear that I actually enjoy and understand what's going on. Your grade is 90% tests 10% homework though, so make sure to not screw up a midterm! 90% on homework automatically rounds up to 100%, so homework is the least of your worries.
In the points, vectors, and planes unit it's very hard to visualize what's going on but she did a great job explaining and showing concepts in lecture. She moved around a lot which will help keep you awake. Her voice is kind of annoying.
Lectures are very important although the attendance is not compulsory. Very enthusiastic about the materials she is teaching and the explanation is succinct. Exams are neither too hard or too easy - prepare you well for the final but not too difficult if you really listen to her lectures and understand them.
I had Dr. Taggart for math 126. She is very enthusiastic and seems to really care about what she's teaching. Lectures are fast-paced so be ready to take notes, best to put your phone away. As long as you follow along and do the homework the tests aren't that hard. Spend time on your notes sheet, make sure it has all the formulas you need.
She is a pretty lecturer and also posts good notes on canvas. Her tests are very easy, something you may think is great but since the class is graded in a curve it might not help depending on the type of test taker you are. If you make silly mistakes it might seriously hurt your grade, the averages usually lie around 80%.
She is funny and enthusiastic as well as being a great teacher. Yes homework sucks and tests aren't great but that is definitely true of any math course here. Her midterms are relatively easy but overall I felt that the class was fair and grades reflected the amount of work put in.
Dr. Taggart is a decent lecturer. If you are planning to take the class I highly recommend looking at her website and following her recommendations such as going over old midterms and finals leading up to the tests. Midterms are decently difficult, but expect the final to be even tougher.
Taggart is very enthusiastic about math and it really shows in her lectures. Test were much more harder than I expected, but it is UW after all. The other downside is that her shoes are sqeaky, but other than that she's great for math 126.
Very passionate and energetic lecturer. Her lectures are fast-paced but clear and well-structured and she's good at answering questions. The homework can be tough but that's true of pretty much any STEM class at UW. The midterms were actually pretty easy as long as you put real effort into the homework, but the final was definitely harder.
Great lectures and lecture notes. Course is well designed and very fair. Webassign questions are often used on the exams so it's good to make sure you remember how to do all of the Webassign questions. If you make sure to attend every lecture, you'll do well.
She has amazing lectures and she gives example that gives clear information about the topics. She provides previous exams that show what she wants on the midterms. Watch out! The final is more in depth and much harder than the midterms, especially when you dont keep yourself healthy. The textbook would have helped with the depth of my knowledge.
Dr. Taggart was amazing. Her lectures were fast-paced, but structured well, and she was always available after class and during study center for questions. She taught only the important parts and never assigned busy-work. Each of the hw was useful in preparing for exams. Final required lots of in-depth thinking. Go to study center!
A good prof, but really slow for the progress. Plz offer less trivial examples, and offer us the concepts quicker.
Her lecture is good. But I have problems with the grading on this problem. In the test, it doesn't said you have to show your work, I got the right answer but I got 0/10 just because no work shown. For other problem, got 6/10 for algebra mistake, I asked for regrade, the grader took down points for the time wasted to regrade? WORST GRADER EVER!
Taggart's not the warmest person but she taught MATH 126 SO well. Attend class everyday; don't rely on the online notes shes posts because it's what she elaborates in lecture that really makes the difference. You don't need the textbook, the homework load is reasonable, and take advantage of the plethora of previous exams online.
Professor Taggart is a really nice person. I think it's important to go to her office hours if you get stuck. She will help you as much as she can. Personally I think attending lectures are very helpful, even though her notes are uploaded online. For exams, make sure you do lots of practice exams in the archive and you are good to go!
Dr. Taggart is an excellent professor. She clearly explains concepts, often in several ways. Shes willing to answer questions. Shes also passionate about her subject and very high energy and engaging. She does like to make you think on her tests, so dont expect to regurgitate information. Definitely one of the best Math 126 professors.
I really enjoyed her lectures. She explained things well and the TA's also reinforced her topics. While I highly recommend her, don't expect to just nod off in the back of the class to do well. Sit in the front, take moderate notes and also just listen. Math is still tough and you'll have to work hard. Webassign can be annoying as usual but Chegg.
Her averages are really high. Typically 85-90%. And that isn't because her tests are easy, it's because she teaches incredibly well. She is inspiring and clear and has a ton of experience. She speaks pretty quickly, but that doesn't really bother me. She kind of takes notes as she's lecturing that are basically exactly what you should write down.
Easily the most amazing teacher I've encountered at UW.
Excellent prof. She gives every opportunity on exams to give you as many points as possible (partial credit!!). Her lectures were very engaging. She often used her entire body to help the class visualize different situations. Lecture notes are made available, but won't let you record. (Kicked someone out for taping in my class).
Prof. Jenni is undoubtedly one of the best professors I've encountered EVER! Her lectures are really amazing and her enthusiasm for the subjects and teaching is really inspirational. Always available to answer students' questions either online or in person and willing to provide extra help if needed. Totally take any of her classes if possible!
Taggart is an amazing teacher. She is very caring and approachable. If you go to office hour, shell remember your name. She explains concepts clearly and her lectures are engaging. Tests arent easy at all, but the median is pretty high because she teaches really well. Definitely need to work hard to get a decent grade.
Really easy midterms
I got a 70% overall in her class, AKA a C, and failed it. Her grading scale is ridiculous and she doesnt curve tests. Shes a good lecturer, but failing a class after doing very passable in the class is ridiculous.
4 webassigns/week is annoying but doable. Not a super exciting lecturer but gets the job done, and the grading is fair.
Professor Taggart really cared about the content and making sure students fully understood content. But in doing so, success in the class requires a lot of work. Homework took hours and even with a cheat sheet the tests were challenging. Taggart does provide resources to help pass the class and good grades are attainable if you work. She is fair.
Really enthusiastic considering the subject and keeps her students engaged.
Difficult class, but Jennifer is passionate and good at explaining the material. The tests count for most of the class, and they're tough, but you are given lots of tools ( including practice tests) to succeed. The homework is tough, but it's only 2 or 3 assignments per week. She's good at her job, knows her stuff, and is funny too.
Dr. Taggart is easily one of the most respected professors of Math 126! From day 1, she was super enthusiastic and clear about class expectations. Her lectures are entertaining and she posts all of her notes. Put in the work w/ practice exams and you'll be so prepared! Our exam scores were high, but not b/c they were easy. She truly prepared us.
Basically a review of algebra. This class was not super difficult... She posts the lecture notes, so look at those frequently and ask her if you have any questions. Basically just do the work and itll be fine.
Dr. Taggart is such a fun and passionate prof! Even though the subject is hard, she makes it fun. Explains concepts really well. I love that she posts notes on canvas for her lectures. HW isn't bad if you seek ou resources/make a study group.
Im not sure what anyone else thought, but I LOVED her class. I struggled but went to her office hours and built a super great relationship. She helped me through all the hard proofs. She was also so accommodating with everything being online. 10/10 my favorite math professor I have ever had.
Best math professor I've ever had. Took Math 327 with her. Tough class, but professor Taggart explained everything so detailed and thorough. She posted recordings and lectures so you don't have to go to zoom.
She is great. This quarter, her course was asynchronous and her course materials are fairly easy.
This quarter (Autumn 2020) was asynchronous and all the quizzes were open notes. I would usually meet up with my group for the Group Activity on Mondays (due Tues) and get all the lessons and homework done by Wednesday. Just watch the lectures and pay attention to the formulas or concepts needed for your Math 111 Log. I rarely studied.
Professor Taggart is truly the best. The class is asynchronous (covid). She uploads a new module every week that includes short lecture videos, notes, and practice problems. You just go through it to learn the material and then do the homework. She responds to every question. Workload is completely doable and the math is not hard at all.
Dr. T was an amazing professor! This quarter was online due to covid and was asynchronous. Only one group activity, two to three lecture notes, two to three HW sets, and one quiz each week. We only show up to the set class times if we have any questions. She was 100% supportive throughout and cares for everyones success in the course.
Lectures were huge, boring, and not a great way of teaching the material. Quiz sections were by undergrads and were just as bad. I felt like I taught myself everything I learned. I do appreciate that Prof. Tagger posted lecture notes, but she had little impact on my learning or class experience.
The structure is great for online. The lectures are very vague and the hw/quizzes ask for so much more. But, she is always available for questions even in the middle of the night so that helps me finish up the homework. Her replies are short but it helps me complete the hw. The quizzes look just like the practices, easy to study! I would take again
Nice person, but maybe not the best choice if you are not a good test taker. The quizzes are 40% and the final is 20% of your grade. Easy to pass with a D, but hard to pass with a B or above.
Dr. T for Math 112 was amazing! She was very clear on what was expected and grading criteria was clear. Typical week: 2-3 lecture videos, 2-3 hw sets, 1 group activity, and quiz on Fridays (every other week). Due to this course being online, it was asynchronous and office hours are during the scheduled lecture times. Overall, highly recommend!
I was not a fan of this course. There were many quizzes and homework assignments. The first few weeks are discouraging because there are approximations and eyeballing numbers. Even if you use the right processes, you will not score any points. The following weeks are on formulas, but I did not vibe with it.
I really didn't like the asynchronous setup of this class. Lectures were made up of short videos, and I almost felt that the math was so dumbed down at points that I lost interest. There is a good amount of homework, but it is doable. I was preoccupied with other classes and frankly lost interest in the class, but definitely not a hard class.
Math 111 & 112 was so easy. Her lectures and office hours made this class an easy 4.0 for me. There is a lot of homework and quizzes, but they were all doable. The practise problems on test review were WAY easier than actual quizzes and exams. The final exam was so easy and nothing like any of the practise material.
I took her for MTH327 in Spring2021. She is one of the best professors at the UW. Her course structure was simple and easy to follow. Lots of office hours to get help with assignments and very passionate about real analysis. Only graded on HW and Portfolio, so don't slack off. Must put in a lot of time to digest and understand lectures.
She is the best math professor ever. Her lectures are very well organized, and her notes are so neat. I can even understand the lesson only from her notes. I did not have an opportunity to go to her office hour, but I believe it would great. However, I think, her feedbacks on homework is not clear, but it is fair since she graded every work by hers
Review claims she's a "tough grader but fair because does the grading herself" Absolutely false, there are graders who grade all the HW 1 specific way and then with 0 warning she does a complete 180 by grading the last HW by herself with a completely different and frankly arbitrary grading method. Probably great in person but terrible online.
Math 111 is really easy if you have taken econ. There's not too much work. There are just a lot of quizzes, but no midterms. There are about 7 quizzes and they happen every Friday.
Professor Taggart reminded me of why I enjoy math. She is super organized and I have never had trouble getting a hold of her or one of her TAs to discuss a homework problem I was struggling with. She does weekly quizzes, but it made learning the information a lot easier If you are worried about taking math in college take a class from her.
Her lectures are enjoyable because she actually makes the content interesting and is always happy to help when you don't understand. We have weekly quizzes, which honestly aren't bad because we get a sheet of notes. I love how she walks us through the problems, and if you ever need help, her TAs and her are very accessible outside of class.
One of the worst experiences I have had in a math class. Professor Taggart would review problems in class and just go over a formula and expect you to solve all the questions on your own. Would never teach the formula well and all learning is done outside of lecture. Highly recommend picking a different Math 111 teacher.
Do not recommend taking this class with Professor Taggart. She reuses covid lectures. She canceled class twice and "made it up to us" by making a final exam review. When it came time for the exam, it was nothing close to the review. Literally taught myself this whole quarter.......
Taggart made this class a breeze. This class is just simple algebra with applications of economics so the content is easy. She has a lot of practice exams available and they are very similar if not the same on the quizzes and final. Just do a bunch of practice problems and you will Ace the class.
Amazing teacher!! Highly recommend she made the class super easy. Her teaching style was amazing and lectures are definitely not mandatory(I never went). Only thing that sucks is quizzes every Friday but they were super easy and similar to the homework. Final was also super easy she makes it really easy to do well in the class.
She knows what's up. She is one of the very few profs at UW who knows what she's doing and loves teaching. She is a teacher and will teach you well. Take her over all other math profs!
Weekly quizzes and no midterm. As long as you do the homework, attend class, and study for the quizzes you should get a 4.0 in the class.
Professor Taggart was a great teacher and made the class structure very accessible and easy to understand. She definitely cares about your success and explains questions well. Allows you to drop 2 quiz scores as well as quizzes are every Friday. As long as you go to or watch the lectures, keep up with the homework, it'll be a breeze.
Amazing professor! Very straight forward. There are quizzes every Friday for the chapters that are reviewed that week. Very helpful when reaching out to her.
I am awful at math but had to take Math 111 for a pre-req, Prof Taggart explained topics pretty well in lecture. I felt like I actually understood most concepts. Certain weeks had super light homework and some weeks had lots of difficult homework, so it was a little inconsistent. Lets you bring a paper of notes to tests which helped a lot.
Professor Taggart is one of the better professors I've had. It feels like she does care about you and wants you to succeed at UW. I like how she brings a certain energy to the classroom even if the students are feeling particularly lethargic. Good professor, would take again
Class was not curved, 90-100% was a 4.0, 25% final, 10% self checks, 15% homework, 50% quizzes (2 lowest quizzes dropped) I ended with a 98%. Note sheets provided for quizzes and final which had EVERYTHING we needed, nothing needed to be memorized. Quiz sections were optional. She was accessible and truly cared about the success of her students.
Quizes every Friday but she gives a cheat sheet so honestly if you listen in class and understand how to apply the concepts it's easy. Lots of homework. I really liked her teaching style and the reviews were always similar to quizzes.
AMAZING! She is so nice and helpful and funny during class. TAs are super helpful as well. Everyone wants you to succeed in the class. Just do the work and you will get an A. There is homeworks and self checks every week but nothing too hard. If you haven't done math in a while like me then dont worry because this class is pretty easy.
She did not add to the class whatsoever. I just did the homework and got a 4.0. I struggled a little bit for sure which was due in part by myself. However, she just never really added anything. The grades of the final and quizzes were pretty much your entire grade.
She is a really nice and understanding professor. There are a lot of assignments but you have multiple tries to get them right.
Weekly quizzes and a lot of homework. She was a really nice and helpful professor. Also allows extensions on homework assignments!
Lots of fun and great at explaining.
Hope to see professors like her rather than Selim Tuncel for 424 next quarter.
Live laugh love Jennifer Taggart. She is wonderful! Explains things so well during lectures and is always willing to help you if needed. Provides more than enough resources to be successful. Do the HW, practice problems during class, and practice quizzes and you will be very prepared for the quizzes/final. Also drops your lowest 2 out of 8 quizzes.
Good professor, clearly passionate in math teaching. But 327 itself is very tough, there is no easy route out save for solid practice in proof-writing and rigorous logic. For the grading scheme, no curve, must get 60% for 2.0, 90% for 4.0, HW sometimes graded harshly, exam is quite hard. But better than Selim Tuncel at least.
Frequent quizzes and homework, but formula sheets are provided and the attached quiz section was used as an optional drop-in session if you needed help on anything, including homework problems. Attendance wasn't mandatory unless there was a quiz, easy to get a good grade in the class as long as you utilize the quiz sections.
The professor is great at explaining concepts and provides plenty of support to succeed. Frequent quizzes and homework, but unstuckstudy ai and practice problems help prep. Enjoyable class with a fair workload.
This is the easiest math class I've ever taken I feel like. Just do your homework and you'll be fine. She's very experienced at teaching and I liked her a lot. :)
Really chill class. Lectures would be interesting if they differed from the textbook, but she wrote the textbook so there's obviously a lot of overlap. Midterms and exams are light-- just get problem sets done and understand textbook examples and that's enough review. I will say problem sets take about ten hours for the longer ones, so start early
She is an AMAZING professor who possesses both critical skills as an instructor and a sense of humor. I was nervous about this course initially because it was about writing mathematical proofs of some theories. However, her explanations were clear and easy understand and it made me enjoy this class so much. Also she always made us laugh!
She truly is the best professor I've ever had! I've never had a professor as caring as Dr. Taggert and I'm so glad I had the chance to take a class with her. If I could give her more than 5 stars I would!
Just learned of her retirement, which is honestly such a shame for the UW math department. She was such a great professor, one of the best I've had on the entire campus. Lectures were great, her textbook was very easy to follow, and she was always very enthusiastic about the material. She will be greatly missed.
