She is an amazing teacher. She is so passionate and knowledgeable about the subject and her excitement is contagious. You actually want to wake up just to go to her class. Take her classes as often as you can, especially mythology!
Great class and great teacher. She knows what she s talking about and is helpful as well
She is not very organized. She did not follow the schedule on her syllabus. Lectures & shows slides all class. Take notes you have to know every detail. If you are looking to study about Greece and Rome daily this is your class!
Very nice teacher. She definitely knows her stuff, and loves it. Beware that all your grade comes from tests, quizez, and very hard research papers... and she grades papers harder than english professors.
Yo, this professor is fine and she is very fun. Her knowledge is unreal and she gives you info that is interesting.
Great professor and friend. You do learn bunches in this class. I had her for Greek/Roman class. I would recommend her 100%!!!
She is cool. She is really hot and she talks about the gods having sex. It is a fun class. She is not hard at all. The class is her telling stories. I recomend it.
ive taken two classes with her and plan on taking more. she is a great teacher and inspired me to change my major to humanities. her class is like story time for adults
GREAT TEACHER! She makes her class interesting. Tests are easy if you study the study guides. I recommend this course!
Great class and great professor. She is genuinely enthusiastic about the subject matter and just earned her doctorate this semester. She knows EVERYTHING about the subject at hand and a million foreigh languages.
Prof. Taylor is hot and she is a really great teacher. I only signed up for the course because it was required, but she made it interesting.
Dr. Taylor is awesome! I took her Mythology course and loved it. She knows the subject and is always willing to answer questions. She was very cheerful and very nice to the students. I can't wait to take her Asian Humanities class!
She is great! Tests are easy just study lecture notes and worksheets. I took her for mythology anf greek and roman. She is really healpful and answers any questions you have. I reccommend her.
Not easy, but she is the best!
She is a good teacher and makes things as interesting as possible.
I took Greek and Roman with her and she was great. She knows what she's teaching and she has a passion for it. She makes class interesting and tells good stories when explaining. Her tests aren't the easiest but if you study you'll do good.
Knows and loves what she teaches. She is tough but if you ask for help she is more than willing and is always smiling. I took her several years ago and still when I see her, she remembers my face. I believe she was going through a divorce when I took h
Dr. T is probaly the smartest prof. I have ever had. She is very nice and kind of hot too. Her class is def. not easy but is very interesting. She is always willing to help. She even let me re-write a paper. If you can get in her class,do it.
Dr. Taylor is the best professor I have ever had. I actually like going to class. You learn a lot, but she doesn't overload you with too much info. like most profs do. Class is easy, fun, and interesting. It doesn't get much better than this.
Always happy/smiling...seems to love what she does. She does grade somewhat hard on papers - test are ok if you study off the notes. I got an A but worked pretty hard!
Prof. Taylor is da bomb! she is so funny!however, her class isn't all that easy- u only have two papers to write (which is mad hard for a 6,000 word rule course!), and her tests aren't that easy; but if u study directly from the notes, u will be fine.
Dr. Taylor is the most knowledgible professor I've had. Taking her class is a must!! Her tests are hard, and the writing assignments are hard, but fun. If you study, you'll do fine. She's very understanding and will help you out with anything you ask.
eh fun class, bit*hy teacher though
Taylor knows so much about the subject. I've heard that all her courses are really great. Pay attention and you will do fine. She is funny and always tries to keep you interested. I would take her again in a heart beat.
she is kinda hard to follow bc she is not very exciting... but she is very very sweet and nice.. and easy to get an A... dont even buy the books... tests come straight from the notes during class..
I really enjoyed her class. i found everything she taught interesting. Her tests were fairly easy as long as you study. She was a very nice lady. I would take her again for other humanities classes, and recommend her to others:)
ROCK ON! If she is teaching honors in the fall, take it because she is very cool. Phenomenal story teller. She makes me want to grab a pillow and curl up while she re-tells many of the myths throughout time! Take her!!!
Really Smart, Great Storyteller, Nice, Sweet, Funny and Understandable. If you have any problems talk to her she is resonable. The best College Professor I have had. I learned so much. Tip no need to buy the books. Study class notes.
Great teacher,(although very strange) makes Humanities fun.
She ROCKED! We ordered in food EVERY week, and went to see "Harry Potter." She is very witty, and if you come to class sober you can actually catch a few of her comments every so often. The avg. IQ of my class was 128 so if I can get them, an
She's a great teacher. Tests were kind of hard. I learned a lot in her class. She really knows her "stuff." As long as you do the work, you'll get an A. I enjoyed her class. You definetly need the books for this class.
Marks hard on essay's and tests. There are three main tests, about two easy quizes, and two to three essay papers. She is a very passionate teacher and I highly recommend that you take her. Just do the work and you'll be fine.
She elects NOT to interact with the class, or ask for student comments or inquiries. uses NO VIsual or other media, stands in front, only writes names on board for spelling clarity. Teaches stories as if audience is in Kindergardten. When finished with CRUDE lecture, retires to desk(1/2of class
She's really knows her stuff! Will answer any questions you may have. Prepare to do work, quizes, and research papers. Tests are a little hard, but if you study it's all worth it.
Whoever said she doesn't interact with students is blind or not attending. Great prof. super friendly, will help if you ask. used visuals in MY class. Only sits at desk during student presentations. Positive, supportive, encouraging, enthusiastic. Hard grader pay attention, do reading, earn A
Hard class, great prof. passionate about subject, shares enthusizm, helps if you ask, helped me a lot especially during office hours. Tests can be hard, take good notes and READ. Pay attention, youll do good. Tough paper grader, definitely proof read and know your material. Dont BS, she'll know it!
Good teacher, passionate about the subject. Tests and quizes are easy A's. She is tuff on papers; like a really hard english teacher. It is a little discouraging when you do well in the class, but have your grade pulled down because of a paper. But overall, the class is interesting.
Good teacher, knows her stuff. A little vague on test questions at times. Alot of information to learn, however, if you are into it, it is worth it.
she knows her material very well, very helpful and if everyone takes a lot of notes this is helful for the tests<--really! I recommend her to everyone, she'll smile real big for you!!!
great teacher. she really knows what she's talking about. reasonable workload for a GR class. very interesting and fun.
She is an excellent teacher. Very interesting and helpful. The class requires discipline, but it is not hard if you pay attention and go to class. I would definitely take another class with her again!
She is a cool teacher, very lovely , she dressed a Vietnamese dress so cute. I loved she teaches more classes.
Elitist. High-and-mighty. Mediocre lectures, at best. Makes you pick your own topics for second half of the class so *you're* presenting and teaching and she does very little. What are you paying her for? Tests on things she 'forgot' she wasn't going to include. I'd warn you to drop the class, but you'll keep it when you see how hot she is.
Dr.Taylor is a great teacher, a true asset to valencia. she is very knowledgable in her field and loves to share all her knowledge w/ her students. she grades heavily on papers, dont try to do it two hours before class, your grade will reflect your effort. going to class is very important, take good notes and you will do well on tests and quizzes.
I took all three of Dr. Taylor's classes and enjoyed them all. She is fair and very helpful and tries to keep it interesting. As long as you show up for class, pay attention & take notes, read the material and put in the time & effort on your papers and you'll do great. If you do your part, she'll do everything she can to help you.
if you go to class and read the book you'll do just fine. she's a great teacher.
This class was pretty interesting and she did an excellent job of introducing us to introductory mythology. She is a tough grader on the essays, she should require 3 instead of 2. Make sure to ace the tests if you want to ace the class.
Ms. Taylor is an ok teacher BUT she demands perfection. She grades insanely hard on papers, I think she thinks she is a english professor too. Her tests aren't that bad if you REALLY study. She picks her favorites usually the people in the front row who suck up. If you're smart and want an A, DONT TAKE HER!!!!!
Taylor does NOT demand perfection; only college level performance. Original, well thought out ideas, knowledge of the mechanics of English grammar (usually learned in in 6th grade), and the use of properly cited research earns an A. It’s simple – she expects students to work for a good grade. It's college - real life, and it’s more than fair!

Really enjoyed her class. I never thought I'd understand the Iliad; she made it fun. She's very helpful if you ask. Her lectures & study guides are essential for tests. Lot's of quizzes, easy if you study. 3 tests: not hard if you study. 2 papers: PROOF and DO NOT plagiarize, she'll know! It doesn't hurt that she's adorable and has a great smile!
great professor who has a sense of humor and knows how to keep the class awake. very interesting class and method of teaching. overall, easy with two papers and three tests.
This class was incredibly interesting and Dr Taylor really knows her stuff. She challenges you as a student but doesn't make the class unbearable
Professor Taylor is a great teacher. She loves to tell stories and that makes learning the material a lot easier. Take notes and pay attention in class and you'll get a good grade. I highly recommend her for all of the Humanities classes she teaches!!
I make straight A's yet got an 84 on the first exam despite having studied for it for a good 8-9 hours total. How could I have missed anything!? There was definitely stuff on it that was NOT covered in class. That irritated me plus her question wording I found to be lacking in sufficient clarity, but overall I'd recommend her.
Dr.Taylor is a very gifter professor. You can tell by her teaching style that she loves what she does, and that enthusiasm for the subject carries over into every class she's teaching. Her test are not really difficult as long as you study the information you learn in class. The hardest thing would be her papers. She grades very hard on her papers. It is all worth it in the end though, to see an A on your paper, because you know that your hard work paid off.
horrible teacher!! if your phone rings in class she will fail you!!! <-- failed twice dont take
Had her for Asian humanties, she reminds me of Elaine from seinfeld? very knowledgable, test are all from notes, have to put time and effort in your papers, ohh she brought thai food in! recommend her all the waaay
she reminds me of marcy from charlie brown xmas special
Very intelligent profess. Cares about her students doing well, and you can tell she loves the subjects she teaches. Is enthusiastic and interesting. Come to class and take good notes. Tests/quizes are not difficult if you pay attention and study. Pertty tough on grading papers though, so you've got to put some effort into them. Very nice professor!
She smiles SO big! shes cute. knows her stuff!! does grade papers a little rough. not strict..good pick!
Great Teacher, I would take her again.
She is a strict professor and she does not cut us some slack.
boring class
She is an awesome teacher who knows her stuff. I really enjoyed her class. She can teach you if you really want to learn. She helps you out when you need it. If you study for her tests you can pass the class. Hard grader on papers but if you work hard it pays off in the end.
Terrible teacher I used to like her, but now I realized that I study more for her class that for my 5 credit class CALCULUS. Very hard with papers and test have many things no cover in class. To get an A need to study very hard. Extra points is a waste of time, I did it and I still I got 89.4 she did not give me an A.
Run from this teacher, you will see yourself studying more for this requirement class than for any other class. You have to be perfect to get an A. Extremely hard on papers, be aware. I took her twice and I learn my mistake, I was an A student until she ruined my GPA.
Very tough on grading papers. Thanks Goodness that I made this class. Tests are fair if you study. This class is not easy nor hard. She gives us good lectures and make sure take notes !
She's has a doctorate in classics. Not the easiest Greek/Roman professor, unless you happen to be as passionate about Vitruvian architecture as she is.
Wonderful
LOVED this class...if your interested in mythology...definitely take this class...she keeps the class interesting and you'll definitely learn something new in every class...she tells you what is going to be on tests and quizzes..
Great instructor. She really knows what she's talking about. As long as you pay attention to what's going on you're fine.
Took her for Greek/Roman Humantities over the summer. She was kinda boring to listen to, but classes were only 1:40 long so it wasnt that bad. One homework assignment, one presentation project, random quizes, and three tests. Difficult tests in my opinion, but thats only because i didnt read the text.
THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!! Her tests are pretty easy if you do the reading, but she grades pretty hard on the papers. She loves this subject and it shows when she teaches;she makes the subject you are ready about very clear and easy to remember. I would highly recommend taking her for any humanities class.
She is a great professor! I loved her Greek & Roman class now I am in her mythology class. She makes her classes interesting and I find it very easy to pay attention. I would recommend her to anyone.
Unrealistic expectations for her students. She grades papers too harshly, caring more about grammatical errors and following MLC format than about the content. She is a space cadet, often forgeting things/misplacing assignments. No structure to her teaching, she just slaps sloppy notes on the board. Poor in all aspects.
I took Ms. Taylor for all of my humanities classes. Though it was a few years ago I was sad to see such bad reviews. She is tough on her papers but is VERY knowlegeable and interesting. She is challenging but yet the stories she tells are interesting and clear. She takes time with students in her office and wants you to understand.
Wow, what a great professor! she's so cool and has so many things to tell and show about her travels. The class was pretty easy; she gives study guides before all the tests and tells you exactly what you need to succeed with essays and presentations. She's very passionate about what she teaches and keeps the class interesting.
Dr. Taylor is one of my favorite professors. She is knowledgable and really cares about teaching. Her grading may not be "easy", but it's fair. I received Bs on both of my papers, but still earned an A in the class. There are plenty of opportunities to make As if you follow the study guides and do the readings. I definitely recommend her classes.
Mythology. Well she is nice and funny. She has her PhD in mythology she knows her stuff. I didnt do well on her tests they are pretty hard alot of memorizing, you have 1 paper to write and you have to get an A or B on it, i got a B, and you have a hero presentation which is the funnest part, pretty easy i got an A, but i still got a C in the class.
Awesome. Storytelling is great. Have to read some though. Tests were only hard because there were many gods to remember but I did not study that much so i did really bad on all of them. But I got a B only because of the creative paper and final project. She loves creativity so do a video for the project if possible instead of a powerpoint.
Dr. Taylor is an amazing professor. She comes in and basically tells you the stories of the myth, including all the "juicy" details. You have to read the book, but the tests are easy if you do the study guide she provides. Hard grader, but makes class really fun. Pay attention in class, read, and study and you'll be fine.
i took her for greek and roman and she is really nice and sweet but in reality humanities is her life so she has high expectations. It is really hard her test are too much to study dont do it if u have no intrest in humanities take styles she has better teaching skills
Awesome teacher. Tells great stories and makes the class very interesting. The tests are basically remembering the stories. Very nice and really cares about her students. Take her for Mythology.
She has two degrees so you know she loves what she does. It is an interesting course and she makes it easy to understand and remember the stories. Great professor. If you get an A on the first paper, you dont have to do the second one.
She is a great, really nice, and a sweet laday. Easy quizes and tests. If you need the book, email me via [email protected]
She is a great, really nice, and a sweet laday. Easy quizes and tests. If you need the book, email me at 407 408 9718
Professor Taylor was a great teacher. I took her for Asian Humanities and really enjoyed her class. She is very clear and goes over material until you understand. She is also very helpful when questioned. Definitely take her class, it's not a guaranteed A+ but you will learn alot and have fun with the assignments and few projects.
Dr. Taylor is an incredible teacher. She is very knowledgable and easy to get along with. I would recommend her to anyone. She is GREAT at telling stories...and thats what mythology is all about. =D
Incredibly smart and nice. Knows everything there is to know about Mythology. You write one paper, but if you don't get a good grade, you'll have to write another one. Tests and quizzes are fairly easy. One Heroes presentation at the end. Highly recommend her! :)
Great course. Easy class. Take notes and study and do study guides online. There is a presentation but its short. Attend class everyday and you will do fine. She is a wonderful professor who cares for her studenst and wants us to learn. TAKE HER CLASS!
Great very respectable professor! Pretty easy of a class for being a Gordon rule class. She will drop a few quiz grades, and give extra credit to help. If you need the Asian humanities books for her class email me at: [email protected]
She is a good teacher and knows her facts. You cannot BS her papers. She is a harsh grader when it comes to the papers but on everything else she is fairly relaxed.
Professor Taylor does not have a cakewalk class, but her tests are fair and lectures are a blast. Probably the most fun I had while at Valencia. Papers are written in-class like a test. You must go to class and do reading to know the material, but there's nothing tricky. Makes the material so interesting. I would take her again in a heartbeat.
Ok children, let me break it down for you. If you are interested in humanities prior to this class you will enjoy it. She is pretty difficult, a lot of studying. If you have no interest or dont have the time to put into the class then i would recommend an easier teacher.
She has a Ph.D in Mythology, so there is no BS'ing her papers. You have a paper to write AND a presentation. Tests were hard, but nothing tricky on there. Responds to e-mails fast. Office hours before class are helpful. Final exam was matching. Had 6 quizes. Attendance is mandatory. If you are out 2 or less times, you get 5 extra points.
Teacher was great! Four tests I believe and close to her notes. If you do the study guides you will do great. She was always helpful and understanding as well. TAKE HER FOR HUM you will not be disappointed.
Dr. Taylor is great. She LOVES mythology, and is an expert in her field. (She's writing the next textbook to be used!) If you attend class and listen to her lectures, there is little need to read the book, except for the few myths she doesn't cover in class. Great class, but a lot of memorizing.
Dr. Taylor is a gifted teacher, and is very passionate about Asian Hum. It is tough to get an A, you have to work for it. Class is laid back, but she expects you to be there. Take good notes, her tests are taken directly from them. She gives in-class essay tests instead of term papers. I would recommend her to anyone. Do the xtra credit, trust me!
Dr. Taylor is an excellent professor. She knows the material and teaches it well. She expected college level work from the students but gave us the knowledge and resources to succeed. Tests could be pretty difficult if you did not put in the effort of studying the material. Her lectures were interesting and very clear. I would def. take her again.
A passionate educator and a down to earth person. Her latin class isn't particularly easy, but no language is. Overall I couldn't imagine a better latin teacher, but her class isn't for the half-hearted.
A passionate educator and a down to earth person. Her latin class isn't particularly easy, but no language is. Overall I couldn't imagine a better latin teacher, but her class isn't for the half-hearted.
Her lectures are hilarious and fun (I took the three hour class and it was more than bearable because of her). But be prepared on how hard her tests are they are fill in the blank and mythology has 1000 impossible names to remember. It's a really difficult course for how easy I thought mythology would be. It's not a class you take for fun.
She wrote the textbook you use in class, she seriously knows her stuff and her tests make it so you have to be an expert on the subject. 4 Tests, 5 Quizzes, 2 Five Page Papers, 1 Presentation (don't have to speak in presentation)
If you're looking for an easy A this is not the class you should take. Dr.Taylor is super cool.all you have to do is remember the stories, learn a high amount of names.however, she is a hard essay grader but you will have a chance to make it up. her test are easy if you know your stuff.the class is interesting,so i would deff recommend her.
Not an easy A! You will have to work hard to earn a decent grade. Dr. Taylor is super cool though, her class is fun and the stories are interesting also. since she wrote the book, the stories are super easy to understand.hard essay grader! if you study you will pass your test, one presentation which you dont even have to talk.good class.take her!
her class was very hard, you have to read and memorize everything if not your in deep trouble. she is nice but the class is very challenging because of all the myths and names and stories you will have to read and the essays are really hard.
Prof. Taylor was pretty amazing. She knows her stuff. Once you do the study guides several times, you will pass each test. I admit I slacked a bit in this class but still passed with an A. Shes a wonderful story teller and I had no idea Mythology had so much sex in it. An easy class to take to fulfill a Humanities credit.
Took the honors summer a course. Honestly the course was hard. But the teacher is pretty cool; I barely managed an A studying harrd. Teacher is really fun, and has interesting lectures however. Take this class but don't necessarily expect an A without intense study, especially in honors.
Taylor missed 5 of her own classes. She routinely contradicts her own facts and admits she words test questions to "trick" you. In spite of this, she is charming & intelligent & an interesting teacher. The book she edited (used for the class, duh) is full of spelling, grammar, and reference mistakes that make it difficult to study from.
She's a great teacher and she really knows her stuff. The content is interesting and she's really helpful when explaining things. It's not a particularly easy class, you definitely have to put the time in to study, but you really do learn a lot.
Very fun class and good teacher. She tells alot of stories. Tests are multiple choice, fill in the blank, and short essay. Lots of memorization. 2 papers but you only have to do one if you get C or higher. She wrote the book so make sure to do the study guides in it for an easy A.
She is a good professor. However, she expects too much from her students and also gets off of topic wayy too easily. She gives you about 14 different stories and expects you to memorize every small detail and god/goddess name.(and thats just for the first test) Nice lady, but wayy too much memorization with little time to memorize.
Dr. Taylor is a breath of fresh air. Her class is well structured and she presents the material clearly. She is very helpful and easily available. Dr. Taylor is very charming and beautiful a instructor with a great passion for her work. She kept my attention I wish I had more professors like her.
She really is a nice professor. I learned a lot in the class. It is NOT about current Asian history, but it was enjoyable. You MUST pay attention to EVERY word she says including the stories, so WRITE it down. READ the main book even if it is full of errors. So long as you study her class notes & read, you should have an A in the class.
Not only is Dr. Taylor blazing hot, she is very knowledgeable about the subject she teaches. She tells stories very well and is extremely engaging. She wrote her own book so she tests and cities it often. One of the best professors I have ever had. I would wish I would have known about her before, as I would have taken every class she taught.
She is FANTASTIC! I was not able to buy my book until the end of a summer course, but she taught so well, and so according to the book that I still aced the class. She will make myths so incredible and so interesting that you will fall in love with her,bc of her I am majoring in myths at FSU! I love Dr. Taylor!!
Do not take this class if you do not have prior knowledge or interest in mythology. Not a class for your Gen Ed. She expects you to learn and understand a lot of material on your own. Often not telling you what to study for exams leaving you lost. If your not a mythology buff don't take this class.
PAY ATTENTION & STUDY!!! Her tests are stupid hard if you neglect to actually read the books. First test covers A LOT of material on India. Test 2 covers China; the Final is short, covering Japan. Writing assignments simple as long as you know ALL material that MUST be mentioned. She's not looking for a list in paragraph form, so explain yourself.
I took her honors class, and it wasn't TOO bad. Granted, I studied a lot, and maybe that's what you need to pass with an A. She is always there to answer questions. If you study, you will pass. One thing to know though, she grades very harshly on writing assignments, so make sure you proofread.
Her class was very interesting and the tests are not really hard its just when you have to write a paper she grades pretty tough. I would say study a good amount because some of her questions are kind of tricky but all in all this is a good class to take.
Ridiculous grader, and not very helpful. She makes you calculate your own grades but doesn't give you tests, quizzes, etc back until weeks later. Definitely not worth your time, unless you already know everything there is it to know about mythology. Very unclear on what you need to know for tests, and doesn't give you much help even when you ask.
Dr. Jennifer Taylor is a superb professor. She's passionate about the subjects she teaches and it shows through her always interesting and engaging lectures. Her tests are all in-class. Including: short quizzes, tests, and in-class writings. Jot down everything she writessays on the board into your notebooks, study, and you should be fine!
Dr. Taylor is an excellent professor! She truly cares about her students and is always open to answering any questions one may have concerning her exams or homework assignments. The subject matter is definitely challenging at times; however, if you take notes and study diligently, you will do just fine in her class.
She is a good teacher, and if you study hard it is a easy class. You will have group presentation but not that hard and she will give you more than enough time to finish it. She gives study guid and everything you need on her blackboard. My favorite teacher in this school.
Definitely an expert in her field of Mythology and expects you to be also: definitely a tough grader. Not an easy "A"- work is involved!!!
don't take this class as an elective you will regret it i promise you. this class requires as much work as your hardest major course. she doesn't know how to grade. ill give her one compliment and its "she know her stuff." annoying lecture. the assignments are bad and don't help with the work in class.
Very nice and definitely knows her stuff, but she covers so much material too fast, and her quizzes and tests will be mostly questions that she does not cover. You will be expected to read chapters from the book she wrote and then take tests and quizzes knowing pretty much every detail. NO STUDY GUIDES. Do not take if you are taking other classes.
Great professor. Really kind and helpful. I regularly visited during her office hours and she always helped me with anything I had trouble with in class. It was challenging, but fun learning about so many gods and goddesses. She tells good stories. There are handouts for everything, both in Blackboard and at the end of each chapter. Very helpful!
Fun class. Crazy stories of gods from all over the world. Challenging to keep them straight. Book has study guides in it that really help. Enjoyed it enough to take another class with prof.
This professor is a waste of time if you are wanting to take a Humanities class to get the credit out of the way. I hated having to do my essay on the spot during class for a grade, which what ever grade you get on the paper in class is your grade for the essay. Her notes are oral and so unclear.
Lectures are great and you learn a lot of materials. But every small detail is graded, especially in tests and essays. She does not grade easily. If you are looking for an "easy A" don't even bother. This course makes you work as much as you would in a math class.
Good class, actually learned things. Crazy, cool stories about lots of gods from all over the world. It's a lot to keep straight, but i love stories so it was fun for me.
If you're considering taking this class as an elective, don't waste your time. Professor Taylor has a snarky attitude, gives lots of verbal information but does not give detailed notes, which is not helpful if you're a visual learner. Tests are very specific and extremely hard. I am an A student, but I have had a very hard time passing this class.
She was really nice. You do have to study in order to pass so be ready to put the work in. There were a few quizzes and writing assignments she gave us 100%'s on for just turning it in which was awasome. She even let us take some of the quizzes at home was a big help sometimes. Shes really sweet and loves teaching on this subject.
She is old school, she writes out her lectures on the board and her tests are extremely detailed which makes them very difficult. She was also not always accurate on the religion. My significant other is Indian and she got some things wrong about the culture and all she said about it was "well I teach from what I understand from it". Dont take her.
I loved Prof. Taylor. She is the most knowledgeable professor I have ever had. She really knows what shes teaching. I was a little upset because I received a high B in the class but thats just because I did not know we were having a test. I took her flex class which had 3 main tests and about 5 quizzes. Super easy. Just study her notes!
Professor only gives tests and quizzes. No homework to fall back on. Pretty clear with info but wished she went into detail about some stories. If you read and pay attention you will do ok.
Took this class online and as long as you stay on top of assignments you should have an A, very thoughtful and caring professor!
I took her class online and she's quite forgetful. She would forget to post the modules each week and her calendar is kinda messy. Although, she gives good feedback. Also, be prepared to read notes if you want to pass this class.
I love Doctor Taylor. She is extremely well informed on the ancient history of Asia. She discusses India, China, & Japan in depth. I feel like I actually learned in her class. She mostly lectures at the front, shows some videos, and is willing to answer any questions you have. To pass the tests you NEED the book. She also has a fun food assignment.
The assignments are mainly weekly quizzes, 3 unit tests, and occasionally some in class discussions. She mainly lectures during class using power points. The class overall is easy as long as you do the study guides she provides and take the quizzes. She's very passionate about about the material of the class and has a positive personality.
I had Dr. Taylor for 3 classes. Asian Humanities and Latin I and II. She is a wonderful teacher and absolute delight. She gives great feedback. But if you don't keep up with the readings and learn for your mistakes you will be left behind, well at least in Latin. In Asian Humanities it was an absolute breeze.
Professor Taylor is very nice and plus she cares about other students. The reason why Professor Taylor is very nice and caring is because I remember one year ago from today I remember having very a sad day and when I came to her classroom feeling very sad she I was explaining why I wasn't unable to finish Discussion4. She told me to come to her.
Professor Taylor is a great instructor. I took her mythology course strictly online due to COVID and the class was easy. You live by the textbook (that she wrote) but every quiz and test is open book. There was a paper or two and one group project at the end of the semester. Nothing that isn't doable. Only ONE assignment per week.
Took humanities online and it was great! Reading material was pretty easy. Weekly quizzes and a few discussions. She provides a study guide and the tests are pretty much everything on the study guide. Easy A
This was the easiest online class I've taken, gives you study guides for the chapters you read weekly, and you can find most of the answers on Quizlet or very clearly in the text. Her quizzes/tests follow the study guides almost to a tee (and its open note/book). Only issue is be sure to cite the book in discussion post, but overall very nice Prof!
Do not take her. She's a super tough grader and inflexible. There are usually quizzes every week or there are discussions or essays you have to write on the material. Her papers are very hard, and as a student who always gets great grades on papers, hers were impossibly hard to excel in.
I honestly have never felt as miserable as I did taking this class. She wrote the textbook which makes her very particular about the writing assignments (essay and discussion boards). She never gives a clear example of what she wants from assignments. Also, there is a group project at the end. Unexpectedly added 8 myths to study the WEEK of finals.
This professor is a good one to pick if you don't mind putting in the work. Her lectures are detailed and thorough and she gives very few assignments (1-2 a week). The quizzes are the main assignment given every week and the textbook covers the answers so if you are reading the material and complete the study guide you will pass the quiz.
Study guides are embedded in the textbook and correlate with the test (as she wrote the book). She is a heavy grader and grades harder than an English professor. There is 1 group project, a few tests (not proctored and can take @home even in person students), and mostly discussion, and 1 paper. Will need textbook! Overall, easy class, tough grader.
Dr. Taylor is one of the nicest professors I've ever worked with here at VC. If you take this class in mixed mode, she will let you use your notes and textbook during tests and quizzes. She is also very helpful with the course material and actually wants you to succeed in her class.
By far one of the easiest professors I have taken. Very easy class. Straight forward. One quiz a week and maybe a discussion post. As long as you check the class at least once a week you are guaranteed an A. TAKE THEM!!!!!!
Dr. Taylor is a great professor at Valencia, and it's clear in her teaching that she knows her material very well. However, that can be a double-edged sword as she will critique nearly everything you write down to its tiniest detail. Lectures are interesting and Tests are straightforward. My only complaint is the final, which is a group project...
Self teaching. She never explains, uses videos, images or any other resources except for a book written by her. You would have to learn like 70 pages of myths for the first test and is not all multiple choice. Probably her class in person would be better but I dont recommend her online class. At least she responds emails quickly and is very kind.
The course was interesting and the professor was nice and accommodating. She set up the canvas modules really well and comprehensively.
I never really interacted with Prof. Taylor at all during this course, but I never really needed to. I found her class to be interesting and fairly easy. There is a perfect amount of assignments that are always consistent week-to-week. All assignments are also open-book. Overall, a great class, interesting, and not difficult at all.
Overall, really easy class. For homework, we only had a quiz each Sunday, a test every 3 modules, and a random discussion here and there. The quizzes are short, 25 questions max, but the tests are 50 questions, both timed, but overall very easy. All the answers on the study guide are on the quiz, so I recommend doing them. A textbook is needed.
Professor Taylor's class is pretty straightforward - weekly quizzes, some discussions, and tests based on her study guides. The material is interesting, and I found Unstuckstudy really helpful for preparing.
Professor Taylor was very kind definitely available to help when needed. She does give a lot of work so there is a lot of studying. Homework assignments were not to overwhelming she usually had us do discussions almost every other week there was a quiz on a chapter each week & the final exam on all the chapters that we have went over. Not too bad
Decent teacher and class. She was a very tough grader and I found that a lot of the time she gave points off for minuscule mistakes or things she didn't ask for. She posted an assignment with no due date so it never came up so I never completed it and when I brought this to her attention she fixed it and allowed me to access it but gave me a 50/100
I took her full online class and like people say she is a very tough grader when it comes to written assignments, but overall, her class is very straightforward. The work is not hard at all; she gives good and interesting lectures and open-book tests. Also very kind and easy to communicate :)
