This class is a good introduction to communication, and you will learn some very useful information for your personal life. If you do the work, and on time, it is an easy A. She wants her students to succeed, and to that end she gives two chances to take ALL exams/quizzes.

Dr. Jen's interpersonal relationship course is an accessible and concise introduction to dyadic relationships. The assignments and assessments are straightforward and always relevant to the subject matter. Come ready to discuss and reflect on the material.

Dr. Jen's COM 110 class was excellent. She really care about her students. She gives great feedback on your assignments and responds quickly when you reach out to her. Be prepared to read, write and test on a weekly basis if you're taking her accelerated course. I recommend Dr. Jen as your next professor.

Definitely one of the cooler professors. This semester I've had a lot going on in my personal life, this was definitely a great choice to ease back in. Consistent homework and a realistic expectation.

Dr. Jen is one of the nicest and supportive professors I've had at MCC- and that's after almost two years of classes. She is caring and gives great feedback so you can adjust and be successful. You can retake quizzes to better your scores. She is so smart and shares what she knows in fun ways that make sense. Highly recommend her!

Dr. Townsley's was easy to follow because she gives VERY clear instructions. I loved that she gave us an option to not buy the book and provided (OER) Online electronic reading materials that were just as good as, if not better than a book. Discussion posts are req'd & have to be substantive, more than blah blah. Loved it!

Super easy class, there was powerpoints so you didn't have to buy the textbook, 1 hw assignment the whole 8 weeks. Weekly dq and quiz, the only thing is if she docks you a couple points on your dq she didn't give any feedback.

Com230 was a fun class to take. You are broken into your own groups which is nice since you reply to the same classmates instead of having a full class to reply to. Dr. Jen did a great job sending reminders on when homework is due and explained exactly what the criteria is to get full points. I would definitely take this class again.

Dr. Jen is a great professor! She is caring and truly wants her students to succeed. She offers extra credit and grades fairly. I especially appreciated that she posts all the material for the unit right on Canvas. I would 100% recommend her class.

Dr. Jen is fantastic! I greatly enjoyed this eight week COM110 course. While it is not a very complex course, it does require you to read the weekly slideshows and supplementary articles. You will be a part of a discussion group and will be required to post a personal response to the prompt and respond to others in your group each week.

Dr. Jen in each module will be put together related information or documents, It makes it easier for me to understand the material, which is very helpful to me!

Dr. Jen is super nice and very understanding. The due dates are the same every week and as long as you follow instructions you'll get 100s. Just weekly quizzes and group discussion posts but they don't take too long at all. No papers or anything, it's a really easy class for a COM credit

The instructions were clear and to the point, and it was easy to understand. The class ran smoothly, and overall, it was an easy class as long as you followed directions and did your best in responding to assignments and studied for the quizzes.

By far the most caring and understanding professor I've had. She does not assign textbooks or homework but the lectures learned in class are very important to attend because it is all on the quizzes she assigns, which are all taken online and she gives you 3 days to finish each quiz. Overall, an amazing teacher I would highly recommend her.

Her class as a whole was pretty easy. She does take a lot of time grading assignments though. And when I got covid and wasn't able to do the homework, she was not accommodating at all.

Since this is a group communication class, if you are taking it online, there is a bit more writing than you would think. It is easy it just might take more time writing a discussion post or responding than another class. Quizzes were easy and accurate to the curriculum.

Dr. Jen made class super easy, and made sure that our assignments and deadlines were clear and understood. I had no issues with understanding any weekly material or assignments, and was able to complete them with full clarity. She makes it a class that is easy to learn in.

Professor is really sweet! Class was four weeks long and honestly went by really fast. The assignments aren't too time consuming and if you read the key definitions you'll be fine. She provides lots of extra credit and is quite understanding. There are only two days of harsh deadlines per week so she gives you flexibility with that as well.

An up front teacher who doesn't hold back information, making expectations clear while presenting them in a rather playful and kind manner. I liked Dr. Jen's class and how fast she graded assignments, they're typically discussions and quizzes. Not only that but she provides extra credit opportunities within her assignments, which makes it much less of a hassle to do. To pass her class, you definitely have to read what's provided.

There was a quiz every week, but they were very easy and she let us take the quiz twice! Took this class as a winter course. Readings were easy and manageable to get done in a 4 week period. Weekly discussion and quizzes.

The work is just time consuming

The weekly assignments are clearly laid out and easy to follow. There is always extra credit available if you want.

Dr. Townsley was a great professor. I'm a science major and this was my first time taking a communications course (future nurses: if you want a California license, you need 6 credits of comms!) and she made the experience fun and informative. There are a lot of weekly tasks, but nothing that feels like busy work. A great, affordable online course.

Very lovely professor, Dr Jen is very nice and always there to help. Course work is great especially if you work, she gives you a good amount of time to work on your assignments. Has a weekly discussion and quiz. I have taken 2 classes already with Dr Jen and they have been great :)

She was easy to communicate with!

The workload was very light and I was taking an accelerated class. As long as you do your work the class is easy.

Dr.Jen is extremely clear on her instructions and grade criteria. She is also very caring and understanding of hardships her students may encounter even though the online class I took was only 8 weeks long. I would recommend her to any one looking to take a communications class, I look forward to having Dr. Jenn as a professor again.

Dr. Jen utilized content and group discussion to help the information sink in better. Participation and staying current is key to passing the course. Also, reading direction from Dr. Jen clearly will help get a good grade in the course. Dr. Jen was very fair, positive and a great instructor. I was able to retain a lot of course info and had fun!

Each week is a new lesson. Unit submissions due Wednesdays and peer responses due before each Sunday. Extra credit opportunities available and proper feedback given to improve grade. Dr. Jen is a teacher I would like to have again. Class was enjoyable and useful.

Professor Townsley runs a smooth, fast-paced class environment. She is very helpful and is willing to listen if you ever need the help, and I would definitely recommend one of her classes to a friend!

Great Professor, textbook notes provided online clear grading criteria. Class was flexible with my schedule I would definitely take another class with the same professor.

Her class structure was very simple and easy. The class was not difficult and as long as you do the assignments, which there aren't very many, you'll pass with an easy A. 10/10 would recommend.

Dr. Jen is one of the very best online professors I have ever learned from. She is clear in her communication, shows she cares about you, the student, and has high expectations for you. You will not regret taking a class from Dr. Jen. Make sure you do the readings, and pay attention to due dates (which she makes very easy), and you will succeed!

The professor gave clear instructions and help each student accountable. The material was clear and easy to understand if you read. Reading the modules made the assignments easier to complete. She also will answer any questions or concerns you may have to help you to be successful in this class.

As long as you do the readings you will be able to do the assignments and small groups. Dr. Jen is very clear on what is expected. She provides great feedback and will help as much as she can for you to be successful.

Dr. Jen was very friendly and great at explaining details. In this class, you cannot do any assignment in an hour or two but to be fair she explained that in detail as well. Overall, I have no complaints about Dr. Jen or her class.

I took Dr. Jen's Interpersonal communication class in Summer 2024. She offers great feedback, gives opportunities for extra credit and provides in depth detail to each assignment which makes it easy to follow. I enjoyed taking her class.

Dr, Jen has a very interesting way of performing her assignments. The assignments were very clear and easy to understand. She expects you to be very specific when it comes to emailing her, and you have to talk substantive. Class will be a best fit for you if you know how to write and understand what she is asking.

This is my second course with Dr. Jen and I continue to be impressed. There will be a lot of reading and discussion boards, but the grading is laid out in an easy-to-understand and fair way. The course gives a lot of great information you can apply to your person and professional life and I'd highly recommend for anyone needing to take a com class.

Professor Townsley was overall a good professor. Fair in grading, made rules/expectations very clear, gave reasonable due dates, and was active in interacting with students and giving feedback. Just be prepared, at least if you're taking the online COM110 class, to write essentially an essay each week, and that there's a lot of reading involved.

Even though I had a C+ its because I did not do some assignments and that was on me. Every week she did give extra credit and the final she gave out extra credit too.

Dr. Jen guides the discussion well each with through her assignments. Her course is easy if you apply yourself, but know it will also require time to devote to the assignments.

Very thorough explanations of assignments. The discussion boards can be a bit challenging, but the material is covered well and extra credit is available every week.

This professor is very caring, delightful, helpful, and respectful. I truly would take her class again because she had helped us through the semester. I feel like if you needed help with any assignments then she is your support. I enjoy taking this class and learning everyone's perspective.

It was a well structured class with clear and open communication. I appreciated the use of free reference materials and accurate/working links! The feedback was good detailed just not always timely. There were not any lectures to watch, mostly just reading for this course. Attention to every detail is critical.

I think Dr Jen is my favorite professor of all time! She really cares and wants her students to succeed. If you have the chance, please take one of her courses. I truly do recommend her. As a student that works in childcare, she has shown me how to be a great instructor. 1000/10

I was dreading taking a communications class, I hate public speaking, anxiety, and was expecting the worst. Then I met Dr.Jen! I took her in person class and the class was a breeze! Everything was easy to understand, you can ask questions without feeling stupid, and it was all mostly in person besides quizzes! Dr.Jen was amazing! SO supportive.

Dr. Jen is teeaa like she eats doownn. My fav teacher since being at MCC. She's funny and nice while being respectable and real at the same time. The course itself was fun and easy but extremely informative and she teaches lessons that any and everyone should and can use in their everyday lives. Very interactive which I appreciated. Dr. Jen is awesome! I have taken a couple of her classes. I like her teaching style. She provides clear written instructions of what is expected to receive full points on assignments. She allows you to retake exams to earn a higher grade. Every week there is an opportunity for extra credit. She responds to emails quickly and is friendly.

Best and most organized professor I've had both online and in person. Her online course is posted exactly how it's outlined and it's very organized and due dates are not complicated. She responds quickly and gives great feedback and lots of support and encouragement.

Dr. Jen is great; the workload is balanced, and everything is posted with a set schedule, so you know exactly when to do the tasks for the following week. The assigned work is clear and cohesive, and all the OER materials and textbooks are easy to access and free, I really enjoyed this class!

Dr. Jen is extremely helpful and responds in timely manner if you reach out during appropriate hours. I enjoyed her class and teaching style. Having taken 2 courses from her, I absolutely recommend taking an in person class with her first because the experience is ten times better than online, though I have no complaints about her online class.

Dr. Jen was great and made taking the class amazing! My course was accelerated, but she did a fantastic job at formatting the course and it wasn't overwhelming at all! The material included did a great job when it came to learning about the subject and the discussion boards allowed us to explore personal perspectives and apply them which I enjoyed!

To be successful in this class, get used to working hard on the group discussions, I would recommend doing extra credit for at least one or two of the weeks, just to boost your grade. The discussion instructions can be a bit confusing, especially at first, (Read the What is substantive post thoroughly) !)

The course I participated in was a bit hard to figure out at first, but it's all put together in such a great way that I hope more of my online courses are in the same format. The Professor is awesome, and while it's hard to interact through Canvas, it was a great class.

This class can be hard but it's worth it. The information you will learn you will come to realize is very important and impactful. Her DQs and OER readings are intimidating and a lot of work for a discussion but you'll value to participation of your classmates ALOT. I would 100% take this class with her again.

Dr. Jen was an incredible teacher. Quite frankly, I hadn't been doing my work to the extent, she gave me plenty of warning and explain to me what I could do to help my situation. I really appreciated that all our readings where available for free. I will say that some of the assignment descriptions where a little confusing and redundant. Dr. Jen does an amazing job at conveying the material clearly. She neatly separates the different references you may need to use when completing an assignment. She also does an amazing job in explaining what it is you need to answer and how to properly go about it.

Dr. Jen's class was one of the main reasons I decided to switch my major to Communication. She conveys the course material in a way that is engaging and focuses more on quality participation than on strict rubrics. You can tell she is knowledgeable, and comes to class with an attitude that lets her students know she cares.

Dr. Jen is one of the most organized professors. You know exactly when things are due. She gives helpful insight and feedback. You can tell that a lot of time and attention to details has gone into the structure of the class. She makes it possible to pass with the highest grade with second chances on test and lots of extra credit.

She does an amazing job organizing the work and offering help, she's consistent with feedback, offers opportunities for extra credit, and provides more than enough time to complete the assignments (usually drops sunday and closes saturday). My advice is to just apply yourself and you have a high chance of succeeding in this class.

Her online class is so straight forward and easy to follow. She gives enough time to do assignments and is okay being asked questions. Her assignments are clear and precise. She takes her time to fully explain EVERYTHING. Enjoyed having her for my fall semester!

I recommend this class to people who are not very busy and can focus on class, because you cannot retake assignments, and grading is very strict, but that's the good and bad thing about this class, because it actually prepares you for your career, as this class applies to many careers.

Dr. Jen is really helpful professor, my time with er started off really well then slipped, then she reached out to me when many professors wouldnt do the same, she gave me a talk and then i got back in that mode and took it more seriously, teachers professors like her are what we need in todays society.

Dr. Jen's had a great class. Every week was about the same, a discussion and a quiz so no surprises, and as long as you got all tasks done then you got a good grade. She also answers through canvas pretty quick if you ask your questions for the week by Monday.

So friendly, interactive, and communicative! Courses are constructed well and very easy to follow.

She is the best professor, I love her teaching, no phone in class, it made everybody focus in her lesson, no homeworks. She recommended reading OER before class and she had more useful activities to convey good concepts for new lessons.I will take her class again if i have a chance
