I took this class at 7am so understandably I missed it some but I would highly recommend going to class. She gives you a note packet that as long as you pay attention in class and go over the note packet everything else will be easy. She gives you a chance to make up any missed homework at the end of the year.
A LOT of homework but she chooses exactly the right questions that will help you in quizzes and tests. Go to class and you will pass. She teaches like a high school teacher but she is very helpful and understanding. Just send her an email if you have something going on and she'll let you know what you did in class
This class is stupid easy. If you're not a dumbass you will get an A. Got above a 100 in her class.
Easiest class ever. She teaches like you're in sixth grade. Online homework only took 5-10 minutes and I always got 100. Quizzes were take home and we almost always got out of class early.
Best math teacher I've ever had. She teaches simply and often gives you tricks to understand better. Unique methods to learn certain topics, but they work and get the job done. She's friendly and never makes you feel stupid. I wish she was teaching my class again!
Professor Wellman taught a great class. She showed us tricks that I had never seen before, and offered individual help to any student who needed it. She also was very forgiving when I missed a homework assignment, and did not have hard tests if you paid attention in class. Just be sure to show up every day as she takes roll each class!
love her she's great i would definitely take her again.
She is a really good math teacher, would never have expected to get a A in a math course. Take her!!
She was very nice and always in a good mood. Her math reviews are long and way harder than the test, so if you've got those down you should be fine. She is clear and will be helpful if you ask and have clearly made effort. She nit picks tests though and that can add up. she gives take home quizzes and some home works are long, but not usually.
Math is my worst subject, but Professor Wellman made it easy for me to make an A. I would DEFINITELY recommend purchasing the course packet with all of the notes- so helpful to have the examples already written out. Test problems were all similar to something seen before, homework usually wasn't bad, she gives lots of take home quizzes. Take her!
Prof. Wellman is very good at explaining hard concepts. She gives take home quizzes. If you don't show all of your work you will lose points, but she gives partial credit on some problems.
Okay, I don't know what class yall took. But she is honestly a horrible teacher. The online homework, take home quizzes, and quizzes in class did not help me at all on the tests. The class is so hard for being a pre-calc class. She is always in a good mood, but her style of teaching was so drawn out and boring I couldn't even pay attention.
Professor Wellman was great. I am awful at math and she helped me actually like math. She also allows 8 absences for MWF classes instead of 6. I got dropped from her class because of absences and she immediately reinstated me that day after I met with her. GREAT teacher.
Mrs. Wellman is a great teacher she will work with you 1 on 1 in her office hours. She does give homework three times a week online. If you pay attention in class she makes it super easy to understand the material.
Do not listen to these other reviews, Wellman is a bad teacher. I am an A&M Student who took her calculus class and she was the worst. She would take off points on tests for not writing an equal sign on a single line when showing work. She would take off points for ridiculous things and her teaching style is not effective. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.
Professor Wellman is an awesome teacher. She is explains everything in detail and always tries to give easier ways of doing/remembering how to do the problem.
Professor Wellman is very sweet and caring. She expects you to work and show up for class.
She was a pretty good teacher but could be annoying at times. If you do all the homework and study you should make an A.
Very good professor. Really nice when you need help understanding. Attendance is mandatory. Gives some extra credit not much.
Mrs. Wellman was an excellent professor! She explains the problems really well and makes the math easy. The homework helps with the problems that are going to be on the test.
Mrs. Wellman was very caring, but I just didn't have an understanding of the class materials. I did somehow pull off a C in her class, but it was very difficult and a high-stress class for me. She has a ton of office hours that work for most everyone, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Professor Wellman over all is pretty good. Shes very nice (on most days, sometimes she can be rude). She does try to make her class more simple and helps you anytime you need it. I hate math so I didnt really enjoy going to her classes but she is pretty good at what she does. Tests are pretty hard and you must study if you want to pass.
She is the best math prof I have taken at Blinn! I highly recommend taking her. Reviews are easy and straight-forward. Pay attention in class so you can do the quizzes and study for the exams!!! Very nice and caring prof. Always has office hours if you need extra help.
Ms. Wellman's lecture's are great. She is very detailed which helps make sure you actually understand her lessons. She also records all of our math lessons during class and posts them on Tegrity which I appreciate bc it helped so much!! If you study her test reviews, there's no reason not to be B or higher on them.
The class blows you will have to over 100 homework questions through the week, online and take home. She is very nice and caring but I don't really care about that when I'm trying to make a good grade. I personally wouldn't take the class again because her teach strategy I guess just isn't for me, but just my 2 sense.
Took her STEM pre-cal course fresh out of 6 years in military doing no math work. Loved her teaching style and always willing to help me with anything I didn't understand, plenty of offive hours. Test were always based off review. Daily homework that can't be made up, and online homework due every week. Would 100 percent take Mrs. Wellman again
10/10 would recommend. She cares about all of her students. While the math she teaches isn't easy she will help you understand. Always there for office hours and class. Paper homework due every class but not hard and online hw due every Sunday. Gives review for tests and has review days. Very sweet caring teacher. Made me enjoy math.
I had Ms. Wellman for Math 1324. She is very strict on syllabus matters but if you do what she tells you, you will get an A. What she expects from you is very straightforward and she builds your education in math to succeed past math 1324.
very nice lady but gives 4 homeworks a week and doesnt accept late grades. if you miss one class you will get two zeros because you wont get the homework and you cant turn in the one thats due. grades very hard, takes off points for little things on tests and homework. moves at a very fast pace, so be ready to do study.
The best math teacher I have ever had. She has a course packet with all her notes in it that is so helpful. She also records all her lectures. She grades ridiculously hard and there are literally so many homework assignments but she does give some extra credit, drop a few grades, and replace tests with the final.100% recommend taking her
This class was very hard. I had a high B all semester until the final exam brought me down to a C. I was offered no extra credit all year. Lecture moves fast so make sure to buy her course packet. She was a good teacher, the material of the class was just difficult.
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER! She records all her lectures on Tegrity and posts them so you can rewatch them. I ended up with a C in the class because I don't get math, but she was a VERY good and clear professor. She is always willing to help you. I am hoping I can take her for 1325 because she was that good.
Ms. Wellman taught okay. She moves very fast so be ready to work. Also attendance does matter big time. She gives out a HW every class, and she will not let you make up. (even with a Dr's note). If you have taken cal before go ahead and take her, but if you havn't before I don't think I would take here.
Mrs. Wellman is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She has amazing lectures and explains everything in a very easy way to understand. Math is hard but she makes it as easy as it can be and drops two lowest quiz grades at the end of the semester. Take her!
Professor Wellman is very good at explaining the material, on top of that she records the class, just in case you still didn't get it during it, you can always go back to the recordings. She gives quizzes every day, which they help you to study what she taught. I took her class last semester and I will take her again on future classes.
Mrs. Wellman is one of the BEST math teachers in Blinn College, I would take her again if she was teaching Calculus. Her teaching methods are on point. Everyday there are quizzes which are pretty straightforward. She takes attendance everyday, if miss a class, you don't get homework for that day. She is really NICE!!! I love her so much............
Easily my favorite professor I have ever had. She is super understanding when personal issues come up. She let me take a test half a week later in the learning center. She gives reviews before every test that are exactly like the test but slightly harder. TAKE MRS. WELLMAN.
Math is hard but she does an amazing job of helping you understand it. It feels like a lot of homework but in reality, if you do all the work, you'll do so much better on her exams. She also records all her lectures and posts them on ecampus which is super helpful if you need help and don't want to attend office hours.
Ridiculous grader. I can concur with other reviews - she takes off points for ridiculous reasons (equal signs, inadequate work, etc). Also, professor blew me off and declined to assist me via email about a question I had for a quiz. Claimed I asked too close to the deadline hours before. So she has that going for her.
I really do think Professor Wellman is a solid choice. She is a super sweet lady and does a great job of explaining math. I am bad at math and doing pretty well in the class. Posts all lectures to Ecampus. Homework due every Sunday and lots of tests. However, all material from tests is stuff we practiced. She does take off points for dumb things.
So since we switched to online lectures, my actual math professor has no idea how to record herself for notes and posts Prof. Wellman's instead. My grade has gone up to a low A since we switched online and before I was failing this class. I am actually learning now and I wish I had signed up for her class instead!
Great teacher. Really relies on student's participation. If you practice the materials she teaches, you can earn an easy A.
She's a very sweet lady who loves Disney. I feel like in the beginning,, her class was easy to follow and understand but close to the end, I began to get very overwhelmed with the workload. If you're good at math, you will have no problems with her teaching methods.
All in all a great professor. The first week is so stressful and make sure you have a ti-84 calculator. She explains stuff well and he videos are easy to follow. Only problem was there was an issue with the work file I submitted and she gave me a 22 I talked to her about it and I resent the file and she gave me a 37 bc it was late instead of a 87
She is a real gem! She posts all her lectures on ecampus and uses the in-person/virtual meetings as a chance for students to ask questions. She is very energetic, too! You can email her and she'll answer your questions. Usually ends class early. You have to take her as your teacher!
Overall an excellent professor, teaches thoroughly and ensures that you understand a concept before moving on. She will go over whatever you ask her too and won't make you feel stupid for having to ask. Gives feedback on all notes for each quiz and exam to explain if you missed something or messed up.
Mrs. Wellman was a solid choice. Showing work is extremely important in this class and she doesnt take late work. Overall, her class was pretty easy if you use her course notes and do the reviews for the exams. Shes very good at lecturing and replaces the lowest exam score with the final. I would take her again!
This class was hard obviously due to the subject. On occasion the teachers lectures made no sense. She does not allow you to ask questions the day of the test. Tests were proctored via honorlock although quizzes were not proctored. Bit of homework. Overall not a terrible professor not the greatest though. She will help if you have done your part.
Definitely the best math professor at Blinn! I took her 8 week course and it is a lot of work. Make sure you watch the video lectures she post before class so you know what she's going over and so that you can ask questions. Tests aren't bad if you do the reviews and quizzes are open note. Highly recommend buying her note packet that she offers!
Professor Wellman was a good teacher, I'm not great at math and she teaches in a way I could understand. Her classes are kind of boring, but I blame that on the subject and not her. Take the notes with the course packet and you should do okay.
She's such a great prof! She does have a lot of homework and the material gets hard, but she's great at explaining and catering to different learning styles. She cares about her students' grades and is really good at responding quickly. I fully recommend her, as long as you have the time to put in the work with her homework load. It's worth it!
I took her for MATH 1324 and 1325 and came out of both classes with A's. She replaces the lowest test grade with the final, drops AT LEAST two quiz grades and two homework grades. She is very flexible and always wants to help her students out. I would recommend her for all math classes!
I had to drop her class. She graded super heavy and took off so many unnecessary points on exams and quizzes. The assignments weren't bad but definitely do not wait til sunday night to do the homework. I took this as a paired course with 0324 and I've never been that great at math, but her course was super difficult for me. I don't recommend.
Very inconsistent with what is due or what is not, mostly with participation grades which she will give you a fat 0 for it despite never saying it was due the week before. Unnecessary take offs on quizzes and exams, you literally have to just take the L. Will NOT let you do make up work. so, DO NOT SKIP CLASS! You will get a fat 0 on the homework!
Do not take this class unless you actually want to be sad. I have never been good at math but this class was unreal to me . Lady herself was ok, but horrible teacher and the amount of work and the difficult tests majority of my class dropped I could literally write a 2,000 word essay about how bad it is . I had to drop it I tried hard to pass to
I am horrible at math, so this class was hard for me. Professor Wellman is a great person but as a professor I didn't care for her. Almost dropped this class but ended up passing because she did help us with some things to receive extra points. There is lots of homework & quizzes that she will take unnecessary points off of.
Im not good at math but she teaches in a way I can understand. You get a quiz every class but if you email pics of your work she will tell you if something is wrong before turning in. Tests are all open response but relatively short. Gives partial credit. Final is multiple choice. Does not do test makeups. Must attend class or you will get zeros.
I am awful at math but she is amazing. Print out the worksheets before class and GO TO THE LECTURES! she explains amazingly in person but she also posts her lectures online totally recommend her 8wk course quick, easy, and able to use calculators. Would take again
Great professor! A lot of homework but she gave back partial credit on all quizzes and tests and included bonus questions. A lot of people blamed her for their bad grade, but she was very quick to answer emails and outlined the course due dates the first day of class. Great lectures and teacher, I ended up with a 100 in the class.
Made a big mistake by taking this class along with two other core classes together. Lots of homework with quiz that ends up taking 4-5 hours of your day so be prepared for frustration. The homework/quizzes/exams are alot more complicated than the equations done in class. Great personality but the workload and time required for this class is insane.
The ratings made me nervous to take her. Overall, she was a good professor, much better than the reviewssay, BUT there are 2hw assignments and a quiz (at least 4-6 hours to complete) due every class. It can be very overwhelming and stressful. Lectures are long and boring, but worth the grade. Final replaces lowest test and she drops a 2HW/quizzes.
Going into this class I knew that it would be difficult and fast-paced, especially for an 8-week course. Professor Wellman is a very nice lady, however, she is tough when it comes to grading. You must show work at all times, lectures are long, and oh man, there is a ton of homework. Gives partial credit, and drops the lowest exam with the final.
Professor Wellman is friendly and nice in person, even somewhat of a Disney adult but she is completely different when she grades. She will take off points for everything from not having a proper derivative sign to not putting y= in the front of your equations be ready to spend 6-7 hours on homework and quizzes because they are assigned every week.
Professor Wellman was a very nice and caring lady however she's the toughest grader I've had since High School. She will take points off for anything she can find. I would go from 100% on quiz grades to 70% after she had reviewed my work. You will also have hours of HW every night. Exams are not too bad, gives partial credit back.
I did not like Professor Wellman to say the least. She takes points off for dumbest stuff and assigns so much hw do the next day. This class may not be too bad if it is your only "hard" class, but if you are in a few more "hard" classes, do not take her (especially if math isnt for you).
She was the best professor for me, I took her twice and both times I passed her class with ease. It can be a difficult subject but if you ask questions or go to her with your concerns she will always help. Do your homework and pay attention to her lectures and I promise you, you will pass.
While she is a great professor and I would take her again, I would not recommend taking her as a 8 week course if you cannot pick up math somewhat fast as her class goes by fast and you will have to spend a lot of time outside of class. Average workweek for a 8 week is about 2 quizzes and 4 homework assignments with a exam roughly every 2 weeks.
Don't listen to the negative reviews. I took her and was nervous, but she is AMAZING. So much partial credit given on quizzes and tests. Has a 10 point bonus question on exams. Homework, but it's very doable and you have unlimited attempts. I would do it the night before. Quiz has 2 attempts and reviews are just like the exams. Final is easy.
Took her for a summer 5 week course. 2 HW 1 Quiz due daily, Hw took about 3-4 hours minimum to complete. Although its a fast paced course she shows no remorse towards her students and if you had any issues she would not provide solutions. 4 exams worth 50% of your grade and proctored, all of your work area visible. Final could replace exam grade
I took Math 1324 and 1325 with Professor Wellman, she is one of the best teachers I've had by far. She is very understanding and wants you to do well in her class. All of her material is super organized and she is very good at explaining the content. The workload is slightly bigger but makes sure you know about them, she's very funny too.
Says it will get easier but it doesn't. Everyone stays past test time because test was way too hard. Doesnt explain great and did not prepare class for homework/quiz. Homework and quizzes outside of class would take 4 hours. Told us for every hour we spent in class was a minimum of 3-4 to work out of class and we had her for 3 1/2 hours each week.
Posted lectures and attendance is only a small part of class
Professor Wellman is very knowledge on the subject, and knows how to provide proper examples outside of the ones given in the notes. Other than taking notes, thats all the class is really based on, its a lot of memorization. The test aren't bad, and she gives brain dumps to help those who really study and memorize.
Professor Wellman is an excellent math teacher. I took her for 1314 and loved her style of teaching. If you did well in your high school math classes, you'll likely do well with her too. You have to show all your work, but it's worth it as she gives a ton of partial/bonus credit back. Tests were always easy if you did the study guide/homework.
She is not understanding and will not let you retake exams. You also have to go out of your way to buy your own web-cam for the exams. I do not recommend her
This course is currently in-progress. Professor Wellman's lectures are clear, concise, and explain problem types thoroughly. Her pre-cal course is relatively painless; I would only take two other classes at most because it may be fast for some. Two quiz attempts with partial credit means extra credit is built in. Will update after completion.
Her assignments are all very easy and allow you to make sure you understand the material. Her exams are the absolute worst thing there is. She counts off for absolutely ANYTHING she can, even going against what she does in class. I would just not recommend taking her.
Dr. Wellman is a rare gem. Her lectures are concise & painless. Take this course BEFORE trigonometry! She doesn't ratio test material to time well, but she does include extra credit and partial credit. Reviews available, use em. She communicates quickly via email. Minor inconsistencies in expected answer format, but you gain more than you lose.
I was struggling with my class the entire semester and emailed her several times for help but would only say, "it's normal to get that low of a grade at this point in the semester, you'll get it." I also got 20 points taken off of an exam because I "didn't move the camera enough"
Professor Wellman is a fantastic professor, her lectures are thorough and easy to understand with her offering reasonablebreathing room for assignments, and she is a very compassionate and understanding person who is more than willing to work with you and hear you out when school and life gets tough. Single handedly the nicest professor ever.
I wouldn't recommend her for a summer course. She requires an external camera to see Ur hands and working area. She doesn't allow calculators not even (non-scientific) for exams. For quizzes -the work you do needs to be summited in pdf form. I wish I would have taken her the course is okay she just has many requirements also no Makeups on Exams.
She is very strict with due dates, and won't do any retake for any quiz or exams. All lecture videos have an annoying high pitch sound in the background making it hard to focus. She will take points off over the silliest things. All HW's are all very time consuming and she will assign multiple + a quiz taking the majority of time in your day.
I truly believe that she is a great professor! She teaches very well and thoroughly and always answers her emails pretty quickly. There is a lot of homework and quizzes, but just follow her simple instructions and you will do well in the class.
Don't take this class, the teacher doesn't know how to explain, she's taking points off for everything and the hw is a lot
Lectures are nothing like the homework she gives. The lectures themselves are very boring, and she doesn't stop to assess her students once. Feels like she's only teaching for the paycheck.
Subpar teacher, If you can, choose another. Overcomplicates trigonometry and doesn't give time in class to help students understand
