She is a ****! She marks way too hard for and intro english course.
She is a fantastic teacher--enthusiastic & fun!!

She really sucks... She does not think anybody deserves to pass English
really nice teacher
Avoid at all costs! Heaven forbid you may have an original thought in your head. Marking standards unreasonably high for a first year course. Got a C+ from her after getting A's in both 1205 and 2309. Tries too hard to be profound.
She is so tough and unfair. Only two people in my class got pass, one is CBC, and another is native.
Jennifer Williams is unclear with what she wants and she is not there for you when you need help. She marks way too hard and she is definitely not hot.
Bad teacher! Do not take her!!! She's not good at all.
really tough marker! She doesn't believe anyone is good at english in the class. Anal about word choice. Most c's in the class or fails. Highest mark a B. do not take her!!!!
I don't believe it, I want proof this woman has an English degree. Oh, and she's a total pushover.
nice prof, simple writing class.
She's terrible. Don't take her. You'll regret it. Doesn't teach. Really stringy and unfair.
She sucks. She is stubborn and her class environment is boring and slow.
She is serious, but a knowledgable teacher. If you need help she will help you.

she sucks
She's a feminist idiot. Her assignments are all based on "the oppression of women" and she is very unclear as to when due dates and exams are taking place. Very unclear, and unorganized, and an overall disgace to kwantlen.
shes unclear as to what she wants in essays, bad attitude, thinks shes so smart because her husband is a writer for some magazine, when she reads she misses words and when she writes she repeats words, she doesnt kno what shes doing
No, that's the answer. If you have the slightest notion to take advice...No! Definately do not take Jennifer, unless you are able to her read mind. Do not enter this class with your own ideas and creative thoughts, your wrong and will never be right.
Don't take her unless you're able to mind read. Never, and i do mean NEVER, come into this class with your own thoughts and ideas. If you can get on her good side, suck up and beg, you might be able to get away with an average mark in this class.
super nice, very helpful
If you want to lose all your confidence in writing, she's the ideal choice! She doesn't have any qualities for teaching.
good teacher. generally an easy marker. you will read really good stories in this class and the class discussions will help a lot. dont ever miss this class!
shes such a bad teacher ....
Course load is nice and easy, but is a real hard marker (like any other english teacher at kwantlen) on take home essays. Understading on inclass essays (midterms and finals)
SHE IS A GOOD TEACHER BUT A HARD MARKER.I APPREACIATE HER HONESTY.I REALLY MISS HER CLASSES.
Jennifer is very nice and was very friendly and helped me when I needed it. No English class is easy but Jennifer made it tolerable.
very enthusiastic, and fun. clear and organized. Awesome teacher but HARD AS HELL. CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY HARD.
I hate this lady. She strongly believes that her job is to FAIL students rather than teaching. NOBODY should respect her by all means.
She is kind, but tough course I believe. She asked me to drop-out because of my essay grammars.
Not only Kwantlen should fire Jennifer Williams, no school should let her teach at all. Anyboby can do what she does in class, I mean seriously anybody...

Jennifer's class is ok to take. Lots of writing assignments. Material is somewhat interesting. Hard marker but so id every English prof.
Making people feel unintelligent and confused makes her feel better about herself. She marks like it is a 4th year english class even though it's intro. I would NEVER take her again. She treats the class as if it is 2nd grade. She really needs to relax.
Horrible, horrible, horrible teacher! Treats class like its an elementary or highschool class. Journals are pointless and a waste of time. Class content is extremely boring and this teacher makes it worse. Couldnt stand to be in her class and am glad its finally over. I'm a 3rd year business student and I must say, this is the worst class i've
do not take her class....run while you still have the chance
shes a hard marker and isnt helpful. If u talk in her class at first she wont say anything and then she'll get mad...im sorry but this teacher doesnt understand that this is biggeners english we're not going to go and write a novel after this class ends! she need to take a chill pill and actually help someone in class, im sorry but if u have this t
She is great teacher. If you are good at writing essays, you will be fine in her class. If you suck at English, however, you will find all University English courses hard. She is a strict teacher (and marker) but she is also a very good teacher. Compared to some of other English teachers, her class is easy. I was very glad to be in her class.
shes a really hard marker
I don't know what people's problem is with Jennifer. She's great! Keeps things interesting for all programs, not just language. She does mark hard, but go to her office hours and she'll help you immensly! I enjoyed her class!
She is a super hard marker.
Very nice teacher :) The course content is sort of dull but not her fault. Hardly any reading assigned. Pretty hard marker but if you take the time to do revisions before handing in final work, you should be ok! Journals are a bit of a waste of time but I think she wants to see that students are reading assigned material.
Terrible class, terrible teaching skills on behalf of the instructor. She reads directly out of the text book a lot of the time when explaining directions. Treats class like its elementary school, made goups act out parts of a play, painful! Yet expect high standards when she treats us like children. Minimal direction on essays
Hard marker. Very biased. She will deduct marks just on the basis of not liking you, regardless of what your essay writing skills are like! If you like to speak up in class, keep it to a minimum in this one!
VERY HARD MARKER!
She is very hard marker. she will decide how much marks she will give to you on the first day of class.she deduct marks without any reason. it is impossible to pass course with her.I found her hardest instructor at Kwantlen.
Jennifer loves what she teaches, which makes the class more interesting, but she has VERY high expectstions for assignments!
I've commented before about Jennifer but after seeing so many negative comments about her, I just want to reiterate my thoughts. She is a fine teacher. Boring? Yes. Hard marker? Lets not forget we are in University. Don't write essays last minute. Participate in class. Some lame activities but she's a good teacher.
Jennifer is very helpful outside of class so you can tell that she wants her students to succeed. It is important to complete the readings prior to class because there are often pop quizzes. Lectures can be slow, and students may not appreciate all of the group work that Jennifer likes to implement. Overall she is helpful and easy to understand!
HORRIBLE TEACHER and HARD MARKER. She feels that only she is good at English. No matter how much effort you put in is a TOTAL waste. Don't take her class if you care about your grades and money. She also humiliated me Infront of my group mates once when I was sick and didn't have assignment done.
I wrote on here a while back that she was a good prof ... Something has changed. She stiffly, awkwardly reads from notes like she is giving a presentation she did not prepare for. She seems to glaze over when students give insight to a work and doesn't engage back in what they're saying. She draws out topics for way too long.
I liked her very much.
She was an excellent teacher.
Jennifer was a great teacher, but her lectures tended to be quite a snooze. It didn't help that her readings weren't that exciting either. For the few essays we had, she had her students gather into groups and peer edit the essays, which I found to be really helpful! It helped my writing & I was able to get a solid grade because of that.
Jennifer is a great 1202 english prof! Her lectures are boring, and dull! She reads straight from the notes in front of her which make it super boring! She is a FAIR marker, not easy, or hard. not easy, boring, not clear on instructions, expects us to know what she is TEACHING before she TEACHES it, boring rambles, hard marker, not lenient lots of hw. nuf said.
Not only is Jennifer Williams a terrible prof, but she is also a terrible person. Her whole entire teaching technique seems to revolve around the fact that she wants her students to do terrible. If you're constantly giving your students C's, C-'s, and D's near the end of the semester, doesn't that tell you something?
Tough grader, but gives good feedback. Lectures are long, don't expect to get out of class early. Occasionally has journal entries, but they're only for completion marks. Textbook and course pack are necessary for every class. Homework includes multiple readings to prepare for the next class. I didn't have any problems with her.
She's pretty clear on what she wants and what she expects, but she's boring as hell. Do not take her class if you get bored easily or tend to fall asleep easily. I could never stop passing out. If you're going to take her, take the 2 for 1.5 hours instead of 3. 3 is death. 3 is torture. Love yourself more then that.
A bit unclear on what she expects. her class is boring but she is fair and likes to help students.
I found Jennifer's class hard to sit through, but not horrible. she is a quiet talker so sit near the front if you can, ask questions and shes happy to answer. she focuses on teaching proper grammar and formatting etc, and i would highly suggest going to the writing labs, they helped a lot! wouldn't take her again but she is good for 1100
it is easy to pass but she most definitely expects you to put in a significant amount of work. many readings and small assignments. exam and final project are time consuming but for the most part easy. does not upload your grades expects you to calculate them as you go. does not give clear feedback, lectures not great.
She loves to talk about things that dont matter. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND HER CLASS. STAY AWAY
Assigned reading, group work and in class essays. Overall good
I wasnt a big fan of hers. Her expectation of her students is to have a passion for the course and material, which would be fair if the course were at a second year level, but seeing as this is a for credits course only, she lost a lot of us. Shes a nice lady, but lacks consistency and reads from her notes a fair amount.
Worst teacher in the world. Passes people because she doesnt actually teach anything lol. We had one lecture the whole semester and it was not very helpful. She left everything up to students to figure out right down to telling us a week prior that the final was a critique so better figure out how to do it cause she wasnt going to teach us.
She does not tell anything about your assignments but just tells deadline is next week. No explanation expect everything from students
Jennifer Williams is an ok teacher. I can tell she means well but she would make you do a bunch of "homework" that's not worth a lot when it comes to grades. She's one of those teachers that calls you out at times which can be a hassle. She's nice but I wouldn't want to take her class ever again due to the unnecessary effort put in
Class was online (COVID) and she was trying to figure everything out. Really sweet, took our course feedback seriously and plans to revise the amount of work she gives. It was a LOT of completion marks for small assignments that seemed unnecessary and her grading took forever. But overall she'll help you with literally anything & she's super nice.
Ms. Williams seems to really care about her students and clearly has a passion for English, but this class had a lot of unnecessary readings and little projects that were confusing and annoying to do. I had to wait a long time to get my marks back, and didn't know what I was getting in the course for almost two months. Really nice, but not worth it
Such a great prof! Helpful, kind, funny, enjoys teaching, great tips and work on grammar. Different types of assignments and papers which I have used for years since taking her 1100 class. Will meet with students to discuss anything to do with the class or Engl. in general. You get out what you put in. A joy to be in her class!
she is too confusing and it is hard to keep track. on top of this her grading is so unclear and there are so many unnecessary projects. she is not the toughest grader but still is tough and confusing. she is really sweet but should try to make her criteria more clear and understandable
she wants you to love the course how she does which makes no sense because it is an intro course. her grading also makes no sense to me. she is nice but her lectures are too long.
hard marker. worst prof ever
I typically love English but I have never hated a course more. I found the instructor to be rude to students and had a generally awful attitude. If you respond to a question, often you were put down and made to feel unintelligent (I watched this happen to myself and others). There was a lot of course work but that is expected in an English course.
Her classes are great but she gives lot of homework
she pretended to be nice at first but acts like you're stupid for asking a question, adds a bunch of hw to moodle without telling us, 1 extention for the semester(with valid reason). hw deadlines are typically 7pm friday (literally why). barely teaches material, harsh grader, makes you buy $90 textbook that u dont really need, sometimes pop quizzes
The professor does not know how to teach. if you go to her to solve your confusion, she will make you more confused, rather than solve your doubts. I couldn't understand her marking criteria. I would not recommend this professor to anyone.
Lots of unnecessary assignments that were a waste of time and not worth a lot. The lectures were kind of useless and confusing. She did let us redo our midterm essay though
Most assignments are meaningless and not tied to any of the course objectives or main projects. Lots of class time wasted on repetitive/redundant exercises. Moodle page is very disorganized and homework is often unclear. Gives good feedback on main assignments but everything else is lacking context and purpose.
She was not helpful... even though she was being nice and "care" about student success, it seems like a mask. the lectures are really confusing and hard to understand.
While she was understanding, and quite nice, the workload was exceptionally heavy and sometimes very hard to understand. She'd assign homework in several different places. She would wait to open up the reading documents until the last minute, then get upset when people didn't do the reading. Lots of readings, as well.
I would not recommend taking this course at all. she's nice but the Moodle page is overwhelming will unnecessary info, and she assigns a ridiculous amount of homework and reading. the lectures are very boring. I couldn't imagine having the class for three hours
The Moodle page was brutal with information everywhere and unorganized. There were several places where different homework was assigned, causing so much unneeded stress. She was nice, but it was overwhelming and there was so much to read. It's not a great course to take if you're coming straight from high school or not used to university English.
I took this course thinking that the review's wouldn't be as bad as seen. Update, they were as bad as seen. So many meaningless assignments worth little to no grades. Her feedback was good, but we couldn't even see what our final grade would look like until like a week before our final. She's a cool person, but I would never take her class again.
There were so many assignments that were basically meaningless. The weekly grammar quizzes were understandable but that was all I really understood as meaningful, even then they were worth basically nothing. Jennifer is a cool person who does seem to enjoy teaching these courses. Her style might work for some, but did not work for me
Too many unnecessary works that ends up not being seen or marked, lectures are too long and assigned works are way too out of place making it difficult to navigate through. I don't recommend at all.
As a student with disabilities she wasn't accommodating AT ALL. There was so much work she posted without notifying us about, and her midterms are so unfair. She posted study material and many of the questions on the midterm ended up not even being in the study material. Would not recommend.
