She is the best...she teaches and makes molecules from students and she never tires in answering questions. She is the best!!!!!!!
She is the best teacher at UT - she makes the material fun, and tries to make it easier to learn. She is extremly helpful, kind, and patient to all. She is a terrific teacher, she should never leave UT!!!!!!
Always willing to help. Main aim is to help students understand the material - nothing is off limits to helping the student learn the material - and not only that but her lectures are designed to cater for each type of learning styles, so that each student is equally exposed to the information.
If you put in 101% effort - you will do well in this class. You must work hard in order to do well. The teacher will help as much as possible, but it is important that you work hard because this class is tough. The teacher's tough and so is the other teacher but she is an extremly wonderful teacher
Definitely a great teacher! She is always willing to take the time and make sure you understand everything...wonderful teacher
End of semester: so need to give a final conclusion on this teacher. She summed it up today, she's a great teacher. Not necessarily the warm and fuzzy type, but definetly an awesome teacher. Hey - she said it herself. But anyway, if you want to learn anatomy, take this teacher. She is awesome.
Do not be fooled by the other comments students have made, although she is a very good teacher she is very hard. My academic advisor stated... "Do you have any idea how many students failed that class?" If you take this class with any teacher at UT make sure not to take too many credits, your time will be consumed with anatomy.
If you work hard and really put in effort, 'by default' you will be able to succeed in the class. Plenty of opportunities are availiable, and she is always willing to help. 'by default' if you work hard - you will get a grade you are proud of!!!!
She is the best teacher I've had at UT yet. She is very helpful and devotes a lot of her time to her students in class as well as out of class. She is not necessarily easy, but she makes learning the material very easy.
The deal is - she's a great teacher who cares about her students. Her tests might be hard, but she explains the material well and offers addition help to anyone that might need it.
Class is difficult but teacher is great at explaining the material and keeping the class interesting.
Yes, her tests are hard. Material is presented clearly during lecture, but her notes can be obscure. She is always willing to help, even outside class time. Very open and fun. You must study to do well, but it is worth it. I definitely learned a lot. Be prepared to put in time for this class!
not only is this teacher always willing to help, BUT sometimes she will help with other classes too. she is da bomb!!!
alrite ppl you will come out of this crap with a lot of useful information. problem is, the test questions can really f you over, even if you know the material real well. if you have a hard ass lineup for the semester, dont take this yet. you need a f'load of studying to pull anything decent in this class
This was a very fun class. Dr. Wortham has a good sense of humor. There are a lot of chances for extra credit so you can get a good grade.
this teacher was absolutely great. i was considering dropping the course in the first week but with her enthusiasm and helpfulness i decided to stick with it and im glad i did. her tests arent to difficult, the class is very easy to understand and lots of lectures. but otherwise its a lot of fun & i enjoyed it much. i would definitly recommend her!
The class is very difficult but she gives a lot of bonus points which are very helpful! Her enthusiasm and energy makes the class fun and she is very helpful.. I definitley reccomend taking her if you actually want to learn something
Dr. Wortham is great, she really explains the lectures and doesn't just read them from the power point. She draws pictures on the board and always makes sure you understand the material before she moves on to something else. She gives lots of bonus points and is funny and doesn't act like she is above you.
So Dr. Wortham is pretty much amazing. She's very helpful and the bonus points rock. She's also really entertaining- ask her about her gall bladder idea. The tests aren't easy but it's just hard material. Studying is necessary but you will learn from her. Only skipped it twice in two semesters even though it was at 8:30am- it's just good.
Well, she is the best prof. I've had all year long. She makes class go by quick because she is great at explaining things and loves her job. She isn't one of those monotone people. One thing that sucks is her test, every single question always has the all of the above or none of the above options, which ****s me up.
Dr. Wortham is the best professor that I have ever taken at any school...She loves teaching and really is very helpful to the students. Her class is tough, but if you give yourself time to study at least a few days for an exam, YOU WILL DO FINE! study the powerpoits only! I loved her
dr. wortham is awesome!! Great teacher, really fun and she gives amazing bonus points which can seriously help your grade. Most def the best AP teacher at UT.
Haven't had her for a teacher just an advisor, and shes so cool! She really shows interest in your life/schedule. Wonderful lady!!
Great Teacher. Great Mentor. Outstanding Person.
hard teacher. hard tests. If you can avoid taking her class..do it.
Dr. Wortham is a great teacher!! Her tests are hard but if you study a lot you will be fine. Great teacher to have, and she makes class lots of fun. I definitely recommend taking this class.
She is a fantastic teacher. She was born to teach. Yes, her tests are hard but because she can teach the material so well it makes up for her hard tests. Her classes fly by so fast. My recommendation is that if you want to learn the material and be able to use it in the future - take this teacher.
Loved Wortham! Gr8 professor who knows her stuff. I'd previously taken this course with a diff professor and I really understood what I was doing in her class. She explains everything, and if u dont get something, dont be afraid to ask. I also like her because she has a lot of spunk!!! I would give her an A, u would love her.
Dr.Wortham explains anatomy like no other. She is really bright and knows her material. If you want to know and understand anatomy take this class.
Dr. Wortham wasn't a bad teacher, but her tests are kind of impossible...i'd study for hours and hours and still only get around a 70...she does give lots and lots of bonus points though and that is basically how i passed her class...she uses power points instead of the book which is easier to study, but the test are still extremely hard
Dr. Wortham is a very nice professor that is very helpful and easy to get in touch with by email. The class is difficult, but she does a good job making anatomy interesting.
If the each part of a subject were separated into different tests, we'd be fine. I mean knowing for example, the action, insertion, origin and the muscle at the same time is a little to much. Not that it ain't possible but we do happen to have other classes to know, and doctors and nurses do have reference books with them for incite most times.
Dr. Wortham is very enthusiastic and helpful. She always asks is everybody understands, before moving on....but watch out! You need to make sure you know all testable information inside and out. Her class is essential for success in any upper level exercise science, nursing, and even biology course.
This was my favorite class. It was challenging but I learned more from this teacher than I have ever learned from anyone else. Dr. Wortham loves the subject and has so much enthusiasm that all of the hard work the class requires is worth it! I highly recomend you take HSC 231 with her!
She is a great teacher, test are challenging! you really do have to study to do good. Powerpoints are esential study those mainly. You will have to work for your grade but she is more than will to answer questions and makes learning enjoyable. She gives plently of extra credit and explains things in easy to understand terms. you will learn alot.
I learned the most in dr. wortham's class than i have in any other classes. although my grade in the class did not really show that, it was because the tests are extremely difficult. She is very easy to approach though and is always there for extra help. All around, she is a very good teacher.
Dr.Wortham is awesome. She is very easy to talk to and very easy to understand. She is very goofy and gets off of topic very easily. Her tests are HARD. You really need to study for like a week ahead of time. The powerpoint slides are your only chance of passing the class. If you know those front to back, inside and out, you will do well. Take her!!
Awful Teacher. Do not take unless you are a Marine Bio major, demands too much work for a non-major class. She thinks that this is your only class all semester. Tests are impossible and Student taught project is graded too hard, if you're not passionate about it and don't cry, she will fail you. Worst professor ever
Professor Wortham is avery good professor, very clear, nice and very fun to have. But, her tests are very hard as well. You will learn alot, but you probably will not get a grade that will reflect that. I loved her as a teacher and would love to take her again even if she is difficult.
Dr. Wortham is a very helpful teacher who acctually found a way to make anatomy interesting. She is very lively in class and is very open. The tests are extremely hard, but if you study enough you will do fine
Dr Wortham is a very good professor. However, for non-biology majors, this class is extremely difficult. There is simply way too much information to have to know on each test. However she offers alot of extra credit points which boost up the grade. She's very passionate about the subject but sometimes she's not the nicest person. Not bad overa
I really enjoyed her class and only missed if i was honestly sick also she is a great person to talk with
Dr. Wortham does everything in her power to make sure you understand the material. Its Human Anatomy so it can be difficult but her teaching methods get you what you need to learn.
Very good professor..!Very helpful and willing to help you do well. But tests are very difficult. if u dont study and go to class you will fail. Start studying for tests at least a week in advance.
I recommend that you NEVER NEVER NEVER take a class with her over the summer. she makes us memorize all the bones in the body including the bumps nd stuff in ONE week and then makes us remember all the muscles and locations and origins and insertions!! nice personality but just ridiculous for a one credit lab course! lecture is okay so far.
fun class - recommended not to have any other outside obligations! this class requires alot of study time!
Had her for A+PI Lec/Lab so far, and absolutely loved her! Great class, great teacher. It does require a bit of studying, but it's interesting and not hard to do. She has great in-class examples and is very creative in her teaching style...I would deffinately reccomend taking her if you have the chance.
Great professor! She's funny, open-minded, and relatable. She also tries her best to make sure that students understand the matieral, she can be a bit intimidating, but I think that's just part of her personality.Study the powerpoint notes as she likes to test from those. Lab is a bit more difficult than lecture but she's always willing to help out
She is the worst professor in the world, she picks favorites right from the get go and if your not her favorite then forget it..you will feel uncomfortable. shes not easy to ask questions to, she gets angry easily and is extremely moody. shes not hot from what everyone says and she's ridiculous in the amounts she expects you to learn and memorize
print out all powerpoints. has a lot of gimmicks to help you remember, but often are not very clear. she is very into modeling and often goes on tangents about gisele. she offers bonus points if you attend certain volleyball games (about 50 points in just lecture)
Dr. Wortham is a very nice and helpful teacher. The tests are hard. You really don't even need the book, the tests are directly from the powerpoints
She is a pretty nice professor. Use the bonus points to your advantage because her tests are really hard. Her tests are always straight from the powerpoints.
Dr Wortham is awesome, but the tests are really hard- take tons of notes on the powerpoints! And definitely go to every bonus point opportunity she gives you, they will come in handy. Oh, her favorite animal is the mantis shrimp and she doesn't like being told that crustaceans taste good.
Dr. Wortham is a great teacher if you pay attention. Take her advice seriously because it is usually helpful. She can give some unnecessary work sometimes, but she cares about her students. Stay on her good side and you will do well. =)
Dr. Wortham is an awesome professor!! She really knows what she is teaching, not just reading it out of a book. She always makes sure that you understand the material. She is extremely helpful with answering your questions. I would recommend taking any class with her!!
Dr. Wortham is an awesome professor!! She really knows what she is teaching, not just reading it out of a book. She always makes sure that you understand the material. She is extremely helpful with answering your questions. I would recommend taking any class with her!!
Learned so much in this class! It is so helpful and she is an amazing teacher!
Dr. Wortham has an effective hands on teaching approach that will keep you interested in the class. cute too.
Wortham's style of teaching is ideal for an anatomy class. She is upbeat and keeps everything interesting and is awesome at maintaining your attention at all times. She is very interactive with all of her student and is thorough with of questions asked in class. She will teach and explain until you understand. She is my favorite professor at UT!
She is a great teacher, enthusiastic, always helpful, interesting, always willing to explain everything! I definitely recommend this teacher and this course!
A fun, exciting teacher, full of enthusiasm both in and out of the classroom. I learned alot from her, except the tests were hard and I hardly ever got above an 80. Lab was easy but lecture was definatly worth attending. A lot of the stuff I learned in lecture is material that is especially useful on everyday basis. Would take her again anytime!
i love this professor! very helpful, and has a great way of relating to her students. come to her lectures, you don't want to skip this class. she covers a lot each class, and her approach to teaching the material is not exactly traditional. but this class was well worth it, learned a great deal from her. make sure to study!
Awesome teacher! Keeps class interesting and makes sure everyone understands. Lecture is definitely worth going to. Take her!
She works hard for her students. But you have to be willing to put in the work
Very good at regaining your attention if you loose focus. Uses great teaching strategies and examples to get points across.
awsome teacher, highly recommend, explains things to the fullest & answers as many questions without a problem, cares about the students, uses power points, gives extra credit, dont use book, fun and down to earth class is always interesting!
AWSOME!!! take her!! lab is a lot of information but she explains everything clearly, shows u modles, exams are fill in the blank, no hw other than study study study, highly recommend! deff taking her for anatomy 2!
extremely difficult teacher. teaches both in lab and lecture information for just lecture so if you have her for only one of the two, youre screwed. needs to offer a multitude of extra credit just to have students pass the class
Very hard class!! Gives a lot of extra credit so even if you fail all the tests...with 60's or so you can still get a C in the class, barely a C, but still. Dont really have a choice for anatomy teachers, but i do like her, she is a great person and VERY VERY VERY helpful. just tests are super hard. so do ALLL extra credit if you want to pass.
very hard class but one of my favorite! She is great at explaining during her lectures and they are never boring! go to class because she talks about stuff that sometimes isn't on her powerpoints. very fast paced but you learn ALOT! gives lots of extra credit but you need to do good on the tests to get a good grade. awesome professor!
Very Hard class, lots of extra credit opportunities that you should not pass up. The textbook will help you with the exams, I would recommend recording the lectures, just studying the power points is not enough to get a good grade on the tests. Make a study group, and don't wait until 2 days before the test to study.
She is an amazing teacher and very personal making it a better learning environment. She is easy to approach and teaches lessons that are difficult to understand in an interactive and comprehendible way. The tests are hard but if you study you will get an A.
She is a great teacher and really takes the time to know you. She makes the learning enviorment amazing because she is always in an upbeat mood. She is very clear with details, but the course is fast paced and there are tests every other week. Lots of extra credit opportunities
She is a really great teacher and is passionate about what she does. You have to be prepared for class or don't bother going. She doesn't deal with excuses but does care alot for her students as long as they are willing to do their part.
She is so hard. She sometimes gets confused with what she is trying to say and then gets aggrivated when questions are asked. Her tests are hard and she is a flake sometimes. However, she is very smart and taking her class makes you very prepared for anat.2. She will call you out for not knowing things. be prepared!
hardest teacher for anatomy. never really took the time to explain the lesson. each exam would be over about 7 powerpoint lectures. Her reviews never helped. When emailed questions it was never to help to understand the work. i would get out of her class if you have her for anatomy. if your stuck in there.. good luck
I really dislike this professor. She spends entirely too much of class time talking about her personal life, and often made me feel uncomfortable. I found her to be rather annoying. Her grading was also completely unfair as she did not care at all about the success of her students, and was not helpful. I strongly advise against her
Dr.Wortham is AMAZING at explaining material. Ive learned SO much in her class. However, her tests are extremely tricky so its hard to do well on them :/ If youre a nursing major its a shame because your grade doesnt reflect your knowledge. Best professor out of the three, however.
Attendance isn't mandatory but you better go. The tests are very difficult and NO ONE gets an A on the tests. She will have a lot of real life examples. She will absolutely rip your head right off you are unprepared. It is unfortunate that your grade doesn't reflect your knowledge
Dr. Wortham is interesting to talk to and has a lot to share, but her lack of an ANATOMY degree makes her class nearly impossible. She relates to her personal life a lot and her examples are pretty ridiculous. Study the material and her PP extremely hard to pass her class.
Had her for lecture/lab (230/234) and she really is eccentric. Although her exams are a bit tricky and sometimes a bit out there, she really is a good teacher. She doesnt make you read the book but rather has interesting powepoints. She uses real life examples to help you remember certain topics better. Wished she taught more in depth, though :/
Make sure you are prepared for her class, I took both anatomy 1 lab and lecture with her. Attendance is not mandatory but DEFINITELY go!! She used powerpoints insead of the book but her test questions were right from the powerpoint slides, altough they are still very tough so study hard!!
Dr. Wortham is quite literally the best person I have ever met. I have taken her for 2 semesters in a row and I don't regret it. She's so entertaining and NEVER uses the textbook. All test questions come right from her powerpoints. Highly recommended!!
Dr. Wortham is one of the most interesting/odd anatomy professors. If you don't mind the eccentric personality she is an alright teacher. Anatomy is tough no matter what and use the book as a last resort. Powerpoints control the flow of the course.
Wortham is an extremely helpful teacher. She is very "out there" but thats what i love about her. all the tests are directly from the powerpoints. attendance is not mandatory but i would definitely recommend going. tests are extremely difficult but if you start studying a week before (like you should) then its a piece of cake.
She's amazing! She was a good professor and explained things in detail. I would recommend her to any one. Although the she was a bit eccentric, that helped me a lot. Only major thing I had was that her tests were hard. The multiple choice questions were ridiculous! But I still learned a lot and will help me when I go to optometry school in the fall
Wortham is awesome. She gets a bad rep sometime because she doesnt put up with ANY Bull. You cant get bored bc she is hilarious and has ALOT of energy. Tough course but if you put the time into it you will be fine. No need to get the book bc all tests come from PowerPoints. If you show interest and are respectful she will help you out best she can!
She keeps you engaged the whole class and is really entertaining. Tests are EXTREMELY HARD. I would definitely take her again because you truly learn so much from her.
Dr. Wortham is such a genuine person! She really likes to engage with the class and has a lively personality! Tests are straight from the power point but they are hard sometimes! Sometimes she will make multiple choice exams "select all that apply"... (so scary right?)but it actually isn't too bad if you study.
LOVE her! She is such a great teacher and really made me interested in Anatomy. I love going to the class, even if the content is difficult. As long as you aren't afraid to ask a question, she will explain the answer to you. Highly recommend taking her.
She's so funny that she keeps my attention for the entire 3 hours. Her tests are hard but it's anatomy so that is to be expected. She doesn't curve but she gives extra credit which helps a lot. She lets you text her at any time of the day or even call her if you need help. She even offered to drive us home if we're ever in a bad situation at night.
Good teacher but tough class
She is very different from what I had expected after reading all these reviews. She is not as nice or caring as previously stated. During the first class she told us that at least 20 (0f 60 students) would drop the class, and that we would all fail the first test. She was right the average was a 51. She just doesn't seem to care how her students do
Dr. Wortham is a wonderful teacher. She really knows the material she teaches and she is passionate about it. Her passion for the material helps the students learn it. The class is extremely tough and don't expect to ever get an A on a test. Expect to study 6+ hours just to get a C. If you put in the time, effort, and COME TO CLASS, you can pass.
Jenn Wortham is hands down the best professor at the University of Tampa. She cares about her class and puts pride into her work. Some students see her as mean, rude, or "a horrible teacher", however these are University of Tampa students we are talking about (aka not the brightest or motivated). She is very smart and you will learn so much!
I am an all A student with the exception of this class. Take any professor, but her. Your grade is determined by only about 5 tests, no homework or quizzes to bring your grade up. She walks in the first day discouraging students and telling them that they will all fail the first test and the majority will have to drop the class.
A very interacting teacher while she is lecturing but she does not care how we do on the tests. She told us the first day that the majority of us will fail the 1st test and most of us will drop the course. This is true because I was one of those people that dropped. Final grade is based on about 4-5 tests. I would take another teacher!!
Took her for Anatomy 1, ended up dropping the class. At the beginning of the semester she told us everyone is going to fail the first test and everyone did. She doesn't care about how well her students do on tests and gives no opportunity to bring grade up. I would study for 6-8 for her tests and only get a C, do not recommend taking her at all.
Dr. Wortham is an amazing professor. A lot of people might drop anatomy but that happens in every anatomy class at the university of tampa. Her lectures are amazing and very interesting, she's hilarious. She is very helpful and gave us her phone number so we could text her a question we have at any time.
It was honestly the best experience that I have had in Anatomy. The class was hard but if you went to open lab hours and got the mentors explain things and test you in open labs hours it made the test easier. Wortham also uses her own book for lab which makes things ten times easier since everything in there is on the test so just study that
I have never taken Wortham's class but she is my advisor. She is not only unhelpful, but she is extremely rude. I feel like I cannot go to her to ask questions because I am not worth her time. She doesn't care about the students she advises. If you are assigned her as your advisor, switch IMMEDIATELY. Inconsiderate, unreliable, supercilious, rude!
Wortham is by far the most amazing professor I've had so far. She explains ideas in many ways for better understanding. A lot of opportunity for extra credit and always accessible to answer questions via phone. She connects with each student on personal level and has made me love going to lecture. Would highly recommend Wortham!
TAKE HER!! Dr. Wortham will change your life and cares about her students. Had her for Anatomy 1 lecture and lab and yes, it was hard but only b/c A&P is a hard class. She made it easy. I have ADHD and the way she teaches will really keep you focused and excited to learn. YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR IT, but if you do then you will get the grade you want!
I was very nervous to take her during may term but if you put in the time, you will pass! I had to read the lectures notes, watch her videos on the lectures multiple times AND actively listen during class. Don't be afraid to ask questions!! If you show her you care, she'll help you! She has an unique personality but i think she's amazing and funny
DON'T BE DISCOURAGED AT FIRST. Dr. Wortham can come off rude because she is very blunt. She knows her class is hard and she likes it that way. It took some time to understand her teaching style but by the end of the course, I cannot thank her enough for changing me as a person and student. She pushes you more than you ever have. PUT IN THE WORK!
I took Dr. Wortham over summer 1. Her love for anatomy and physiology makes the class interesting. Make sure to participate in her class, ask a lot of questions, and youll be fine. Most people dont do well on the first test, but are able to make it up through the other exams.
Professor Wortham has been the best professor I have had so far at UT. Her lectures are interactive and interesting. She is extremely passionate about the subject and it shows in the class. She also brings her dog to lab, which was one of my favorite things.
Dr. Wortham is an absolutely amazing professor and person! She makes learning anatomy interesting and makes concepts easy to understand/ remember! Definitely recommend to take her class!!:)
My friend was going through mental health issues and has anxiety when she was a student of this professor and became nervous to walk into her classroom. My friend would ask her a question and she would with her loud voice make her feel uncomfortable. I am pretty sure my friend ended up dropping the class. ALL students should feel welcomed.
I've never done a review on a professor before but I had to warn other innocent students to AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS. I consider myself to be very easy to get along with but I found this professor very rude. She pretends to be relatable and down to earth but is the farthest from it. If you're starting UT and have her, switch immediately.
THE ACTUAL WORST EVER. DONT WALK, RUN.
Dr. Wortham talks extremely fast and your grade is based solely on your tests which are multiple-choice and select all that apply. The select all that apply are all or nothing meaning if you select too many or too few you still get the entire question wrong.
overall a very helpful teacher, especially to new freshman. Can sometimes make rude and offensive comments. she is very outgoing and if you don't match personalities, you won't be liked. She has a lot of good experience and knowledge about the school and can help in many ways besides the class.
i heard horrible things about this professor but figured id give her a chance. big mistake. extremely rude and condescending. dont take her if you can avoid it
Dr. Wortham was condescending and failed to learn my name the entire semester. She picked clear favorites in class and it made it very difficult for other students to succeed.
Very condescending and rude. Had high hopes at first but very disappointed with this woman's true colors. Strongly dislike as a professor and as a person.
Dr. Wortham is an awesome professor. I took her in the summer term for A&P 2 and I found her to be very informative & helpful. She explains the material in a easy way for students to understand. Her test are NOT easy, but if you study and put the time in youll do good. She gave extra credit opportunity for every test which was great.
Do not take her class! The class was not even in session for a week before me and several other students dropped. The course load is extremely hard already, but Wortham strives to make it as hard as possible. If you are looking for a teacher that cares about your success, look elsewhere! She is hard to understand & condescending when answering you.
Dr. Wortham is probably one of the best teachers i've ever had, her class isn't easy but if you put in effort, listen, and participate you will do good. She makes a really hard class interesting.
I am obsessed w Wortham. Anatomy is tough no matter the professor. Take Wortham! Go to office hours, communicate, stay on top of your work, and study like crazy. I have learned so much in this course and she teaches in a fun+energetic way with lots of stories to make info stick. If you participate there is a chance for an entire 2% grade lift.
First off, students arent your therapy group. This woman talks about her problems yet takes them out on us students. I dropped this class snd got to take it with a professor who understands how to teach the subject. Its just weird how she talks about her issues to us
Do NOT take this class. Hardest tests and almost impossible to pass. Talks extremely fast and is very condescending. Acts like she cares about her students but she doesn't. Never dreaded going to a class more, even with it being online.
Rude and condescending. Pretends to be down to earth but is really not that way at all.
Dr. Wortham is very passionate about teaching anatomy and making sure her students understand. At first she may seem intimidating but once you get to know her she is so sweet and easy to talk to. She uses a lot of real world examples to help make connections to the curriculum and keep students engages. If you like science you will love her.
worst professor ive ever had . has her own problems so she takes it out on us- cute! ive never wished bad upon a human but if youre a college professor you shouldnt be inconsiderate and nasty to the ones youre teaching. surprised she got a degree.
This is the worst class I ever took. She is very rude and gives a lot of tests. Drop this class immediately!!!! I had her for anatomy and physiology 1 lech and lab. She has favorites and gets mad at you if you do not understand the material. She gets mad if you email her about the material.
AWFUL. SO mean. Brutally honest and harsh. Too high strung. The type of professor who thinks she's all that and the best professor, when in reality the absolute worst professor I have had at UT. Also, she says she teaches online for her health but she teaches from her beach house?? And I've seen her multiple days talking to students on campus
SHE SUCKS! ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
HORRIBLE. I have never had anxiety in my life before taking this class. Dr. Wortham will MAKE your life revolve around her class. She is extremely passive and so rude when you email her. She has been so unprofessional on SOOO many occasions. Not to mention her tests are nearly impossible and she always has work due on weekends.
Do not take her. I repeat do not take her. Lets get her fired.
WARNING OTHER STUDENTS! DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
She's difficult, but you will learn more than any other class. She's intimidating but get to know her and you'll thank me. Never seen such a detailed syllabus. She honestly gives more study materials than any other professor, and if you're kind, she is kind back. Grades are test heavy with difficult tests, HW: DB posts, video quizzes, Learnig Tools
avoid at all costs.
She is the most condescending and egotistical human being I have ever met. She loves to go on and on about all of her personal life problems but if you ask her for help or clarification on something she will respond with a HUGE attitude. I feel bad for any student that has ever had to suffer through anatomy with her. Shes awful.
Extremely strict on grading. If you don't participate you don't get the full credit. tests are extremely hard, never felt prepared for an exam for this class. extremely passive-aggressive, hardest class ever. didn't cut us any slack even though there was no spring break. she basically forces you to participate even when you don't have questions.
I knew that walking into this class it was going to be hard, but having her as a professor made the class more difficult than it was. One of the worst professors that I have ever taken. Do not take her if you want to fail Anatomy. She barley goes over the material and her exams dont match up with the material she goes over in class. Avoid her
Doctor Wortham is one of the nicest professors I have ever met don't get me wrong, but her class is very difficult. The reason I withdrew was because I wanted a high AB in the class and with the first few exams, I could have only finished the semester with a low C. Her lecture exams are very difficult, you will need to study atleast 2 weeks before.
AVOID AT EVERY SINGLE COST> CHANGE YOUR MAJOR IF ITS THE ONLY WAY TO AVOID
Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Very passive-aggressive over email and in person. Do not recommend unless you want to be disrespected and belittled. I don't know why she is head of a department if she refuses to help students in said department. Knowing she was in charge of my future made me want to switch my major.
Has some faults but she is not the worst professor. Lecture packet and Blackboard materials are a godsend. She often talks about her life and takes up time in lecture. Tests are mostly MC but some SATA. Definitely passive aggressive so be careful how you talk to her. Only way to get a good grade is to study your ass off.
Wortham is one of the most unprofessional, inconsiderate people I have met. Nothing can be her own fault and she will happily tear you down infront of an entire class. Her class is extremely difficult and nearly impossible to pass. I have not met one person who enjoyed her. If you need to wait a semester to get another teacher for the class, do it.
She goes over things extremely fast and does not cover what is on her exams. When I understand the lectures I still almost fail the exams. I participate and go to all extra review sessions, but they do not help your exam grades. I feel that I would have to have a tutor or learn literally everything about the body to understand her exams. -10/10!
Tests do not match the notes and lectures. Even though I understand the material, half of it is not on the test. Certain questions don't make sense. Also, there is no partial credit on SATA. She is a narcist. Funny how she said she's the head while it says no such thing anywhere.
Honestly, one of the worst professors I ever had throughout my 4 years of college. Everything has to be her way or it's not happening. She's extremely rude in many situations and when you email her she responds very rudely making you feel like you shouldn't have emailed her. I highly recommend taking any other professor possible.
Yes, her classes are hard - they're anatomy classes. However, she makes sure that we all understand general concepts before diving deeper into material. She's really intimidating at first but if you make the effort to get to know her, your experience with her will be better. She really does care about you and will get to know you specifically.
AWFUL. She is miserable, exam are create to make you fail. Her teaching style is nothing like the exams, I guarantee you will struggle. She is so self absorbed and extremely rude. She will belittle you. I recommend not emailing her because she is nasty over email. I strongly advise anyone to wait a semester it's not worth putting yourself through.
The class is hard because anatomy is hard. So many resources given to you, just actually use them. Study guides, practice tests, games, powerpoints, videos of lectures, all on Blackboard. Participation matters but its not difficult, just be engaged and ask questions. She is a very straightforward person which some people interpret as rude.
Dr. Wortham is seriously the BEST professor at UT. Her class is not a walk in the park, it's anatomy, and you have to put in work. But, she cares more for her students than any other professor I've ever had. If you reach out, she will do whatever she can to help you. There are so many resources available. Take her for A&P!!!
Dr. Wortham is the best! She is very helpful and the class is easy if you put in the effort and use the resources provided.
She will do anything to help you succeed, just reach out! The best professor at UT, and amazing anatomy lab (and lecture). If you put in the work and study hard, you will learn so much and do so well in her classes! Gives so many study guides and office hours to help!
When "on", she's great, but she can be quite moody.
She was such a good prof! Loved her and her class. Be ready to participate
Extremely passive-aggressive, her tests were impossible (sets you up to fail), and does care if you need help. DO NOT TAKE HER! I cried every day because of this woman.
Only 5 hw assignments, must go to TA open lecture sessions 5 times out of the 16 week course, 5 very difficult exams. Expected to know EVERY SINGLE DETAIL in the book + some. lots of resources (4 study guides per ch, videos, games, learning tools, etc) but BE PREPARED TO STUDY! She is extremely passionate and knows a LOT but is passive aggressive.
I have never experienced a worse professor in my life, she is impossible to reach and seems upset when you ask questions outside of class as if you're wasting her time. She always has to be right and will not accept doctors notes for missing class. Tests are genuinely impossible, 31 kids dropped her class after a month. DO NOT TAKE.
The class can be challenging, but with engagement and use of the provided resources like study guides, practice tests, and Unstuck ai, it's manageable. The professor has a direct teaching style, which some may find off-putting, but she cares about student learning.
Genuinely the worst professor I've ever had, her teaching style is very difficult but the actual issue is she's so passive aggressive and awful towards the people she decides she doesn't like. She's funny but it's not worth the tears, avoid at ALL COSTS
I would give a zero if I could. By far the worst teacher I've had in my entire life, she made my life a living hell. She is a narcissist and has no empathy for others. Extremely passive-aggressive in person and on email. Always has a problem with something and If you ask her a question she will belittle you. DO NOT TAKE IF YOU WANT TO SUCCEED.
While she is very willing to meet outside of class, is funny, and gives good feedback her class is extremely hard. It feels very unorganized, the tests are super hard, and she's very sarcastic which comes off as passive-aggressive toward students. I always had anxiety going to her class and got a terrible grade when I usually get A's or AB's.
I love Wortham, and many people don't understand how much she actually cares about her students. She is lecture heavy but if you put in the work you will get an A-B!!
So unorganized. She is so rude to students and expects so so so much out of a honors class. The expectations for grading are insane, and she never gives a 100. Participations grades weigh heavily and it's never enough for her
She treats you like her own son. LOVES her job and her students. 5 exams for lecture, 4 for lab. Participate a lot. Go to office hour zoom reviews. 9 open lab visits required. 5 open lecture visits required. Also 5 learning tools. YOU WILL BE STUDYING A LOT. Know every single detail about everything. Class is hard but I have never learned more.
You're taking a massive risk by taking this class. Either you will have an incredible experience or be completely miserable. She's intense and if she doesn't like you, you're so screwed, like she will have beef with you on a personal level over literally nothing. Maybe you'll be fine but it's so so not worth the risk, stay safe out there guys
TAKE HER. truly the best of the worst of the anatomy professors. They are all “bad” but Wortham is kind, helpful & your friend. Class is a lot of studying, many late 9pm zoom meetings, 5 exams for lecture, 4 for lab and many required open lecture/lab hours. Participate a lot. Lots of extra credit. No homework. She is also TikTok famous. Super cool
take her. she is helpful and straight to the point. sometimes passive aggressive but wants you to succeed. 5 lecture exams, 4 lab exams (none open note). exams often 75-110 questions for both. YOU WILL BE STUDYING A LOT. lots of extra credit. 5 homework total for lecture, 0 for lab. lab is reverse classroom style. also holds 9pm zoom meetings.
She comes off as strong at first but she provides you with everything needed to succeed and lectures are so interactive and helpful. She cares so much about her students and really tries to form a relationship with everyone. she is super understanding and if you study a lot and use the materials you will do well in this class. lab is flipped style
I do not understand the bad reviews on here I get that her teaching style isn't for everyone but I have never seen her be anything other than loving and caring to her students. You need to participate a lot but it is worth it and it makes the material easier. Put in the work and study and you will do well. She provides you with everything you need
I enrolled in this course expecting fair treatment and a respectful learning environment. Instead I experienced repeated instances of rudeness and favoritism that made the class uncomfortable and difficult to learn in. Overall taking this class was the worst decision to take avoid if you can. WORST TEACHER EVER
Best anatomy prof here. Never learned more!
