TERRIBLE!!!! She has the worst nutso attitude. Freaks out about everything. Exams are incredibly hard! She grades things one way and after a student puts their input gives you a worse grade then you deserved. And what the hell is with those outfits!

what she lectures on is not always on test. must read book to do well. she grades on a curve so that is helpful. she shows intersting movies, but in all actuality the class is pointless. some labs were fun, but most were a waste of time. she's a bubbly person, but class was very hard to go to.

I was confused when I failed the 1st test & she said "oh its normal to fail the first test"-shoulda gotten out then. She's nice but this course is very hard..if the only grades werent the tests it would be easier. She does offer extra credit but its not worth very much when it comes to your GRADE.

Classes are awesome if you don't mind copying stuff down off the overhead all class every class. Easy to get on her bad side but the way the class is run that has no effect on your eventual grade. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Maybe if she'd actually try TEACHING what was on our exams...MAYBE, just maybe, people would have a chance at passing the class...it was total bologna that most...like 90% of our exams were on the STUPID book that we NEVER touched in class...something seems wrong there...

Very bubbly and friendly. You MUST read the book to do well. Things in book are on the test but not covered in class. Wording in tests are tricky but I don't think she means it to be. Hard to know what to study for test. Review sessions not very helpful. Subject material was intersting IMO.

I learned a lot in this class, but mostly from the book. If you use her study guides and read the chapters you'll do fine. Only take notes on the experiments. Overall a decent prof with a decent class.

this class was harder than I thought it would be. she is a very enthusiastic professor, and she is nice....but her class is hard. her study guides for the exams rarely helped me with the actual exam. she doesn't teach anything from the book, which is most of the exam. I would not suggest her.

I had this teacher and she was an okay lady. The thing was, she was way too inot the lecture (being so enthused) at 8 o'clock am !!!!!!!! I was really tires, and it was not something that I could do everyday!!!! But overall, she is a good professor.

Professor Gross clearly taught concepts, and adjusted the pace of the class according to the needs of the students. exams were tough, but she curves them. do the reading and attend lecture regularly, and you'll probably be fine.

Lectures are pretty boring other than when she uses experiment examples, be sure to take notes on these since they're not in the book. Read the book, do the study guide (really, it does help) and you should be ok. Very nice and willing to help if you have questions.

Very nice person, willing to help you out. Make sure you pay attention to lecture, its different than the book material. Study guides are definitely helpful, but the review sessions aren't so much. Her lectures are rather dry, but her stories are really funny.

HER TESTS DON'T GO OFF ANYTHING VALUABLE. They ask about specific examples and the only choices for the answers are nothing even mentioned in class. I don't know how she even got a degree. To top if off she treats everyone like they are middle/high schoolers. If you have no desire to learn anything and want to memorize usless info, take her.

This lady is a moron. She makes spelling mistakes more then I do, and I have a spelling disability! She treats her students like middle schoolers. Her lectures are more like beginner power point presentations. If you have the mentality of someone under the age of 16, take her. Otherwise you will be tortured. STAY AWAY!

REALLY HARD! Now I'm a junior and I've been on the dean's list every semester, but this woman is hard! You have to read the book, and half the questions on the test come only from the book and aren't covered in class, and another chunk come from lab readings that aren't covered in class. Requires a lot from lab reports! Really tough!

Professor Gross was a great teacher. She is very entergetic and loves what she does. Lecture are intresting. Lectures contain studies and the book covers main concepts. Exams are relativey easy if you do the study guide. Very fun. I recomond her! Based on my friends Psy professors, Professor Gross is the most clear and easiest.

She is very energetic and loves what she does. You can tell that she wants all of her students to succeed. She is very clear in what she expects on exams. She gives you a study guide to follow for the textbook and a review session. Her lectures are never dull and always interesting. I learned a lot and would recommend Prof. Jenny to everyone.

Prof Jenny is very easy! attendance isnt mandatory, and she puts all her lectures on blackboard. at the beginning of the semester she says how important it is to go to class, but i never went and just took notes off of blackboard and always got a's on the lecture part of the exam. just make sure you read the book.

Great prof. Very helpful and lectures were interesting (when I actually went!). She makes the requirements very clear and the tests were really easy as long as you read over the lectures and did the study guides!! Reminded me of a high school class because it was so easy! I can honestly say I enjoyed this class!

I couldn't stand prof. Gross. She tries to be super energetic, but she just ends up being annoying. She puts all of her lectures on bb, but if you don't go to class, some of them are difficult to understand. The tests are partly from the book and partly from lecture, the study guides are really useful for studying for the tests.

Arguably the best Honors prof in terms of willingness to help, advising, and making you feel like an individual student and not just another face in the crowd. As for the course: 2 essay exams in which you get the questions beforehand + 10 labs that aren't too bad, just time-consuming. A genuinely caring prof + an Honors seminar on the easy side.

I think Jenny Gross is quite possibly the nicest person I have ever met. She is very helpful and enthusiastic. She posts all lecture material on bb, and she tells you what material will be covered on the test. She is very straightforward in her test questions, and never intentionally tricky. I really enjoyed her class.

She was an awesome teacher. I actually really liked the labs she made us do. It's easiest to do a few at once rather than once a week. She posts notes after class and works a lot out of the book. If you study you'll get an A.

Great professor! The class wasn't too bad- the only assignments were turning in a weekly lab result page and her exams, which weren't that difficult. Her tests covered the material presented, and the class didn't seem rushed. I highly recommend her!!

Great Prof. Only hw was weekly lab assignments, they take at max 10 mins, and are an easy 20% A. Her lectures are very clear and the material on the exam is on her study guides, Battle of the Brains (Do them, they help) and syllabus. She is very understanding and caring about her students. I would defiantly take her again!

She is a really good prof. She posts lecture slides online, gives review sheets to fill out for each chapter, and even offers practice exams before you take the actual exam. Always very energetic and helpful. Her exams aren't too hard and the only assignments are weekly online psychology labs. Take her if you can.

Very awesome teacher!The class to me was extremely easy, that doesn't mean don't study.If you do the study guides,go to class,do the worksheets,read the articles, &take her brain buster powerpoint before exams you will do awesome. She grades on a curve so I was able to pull off a 99% in the class.

Honestly, her lectures are the most boring most days. For the first three weeks of the semester she put herself on repeat. All of her lectures are very repetitive. I found it very difficult to stay awake/pay attention in her class. Tests however are every easy if you do the study guides she provides & complete the battle of the brains powerpoint.

I LOVED Dr. Gross. She was a really great professor; encouraging/helpful, happy&engertic, and extremely knowlegable of the material she was teaching. She helps students out a lot with putting all slides online,& study guides for the readings(DO THEM!), and super easy online labs each week to help your grade. Fantastic professor, totally recommend!

She's very peppy and energecti, but very repetitive and boring at the same time. I find it hard to pay attention in her lectures, but everything is straight forward. She posts just about everything online (slides, study guides, practice tests) before class begins, which is very helpful!!

Prof Gross is great! She teaches enthusiastically, and prepares you well for the tests and labs (honors only). She loves helping students and answering questions.

Prof. Gross highly energetic and enunciates all her words to the "t". Her lectures are completely boring. Don't take this class in the morning, hard to stay awake. She posts everything on Blackboard for you which is nice. The labs every week are SUPER EASY! I think a 4th grader could do them. Just do the study guides and practices for exams.

Jenny is probably one of the easiest professors I have ever had. She basically tells you exactly what to expect on every test, and usually will give you about half of the questions with answers on the task in a powerpoint to quiz yourself on. She tries to make the lectures interesting, bust some are just boring. Would recommend her greatly.

Incredible professor. She really tries to make sure you understand the material and gives plenty of study guides/practice exams to help you prepare. My only regret with this class is that I didn't attend as much as I should have. Go to class, she actually makes it fun to attend class.

She is a good professor, does make things interesting in class. However, her study guide is ridiculous. Most are 9-12 pages and most of the questions are not on the exam. Then you have to study lab and lecture notes. The exams are tough! You do need the book because you have to read an obscene number of chapters and pages!

Prof Gross was hands down my favorite prof this semester. I had her class at 8 am, and she always made it interesting. She is very friendly in and out of class. She is always willing to help students. As long as you do your reading & go to class, her tests are very easy.

Professor Gross is amazing! I highly recommend taking her class. Even if the subject isn't super interesting to you, having her as a prof will have you seeing psych everywhere. She is probably my favorite professor and will do anything to help her students. She makes me want to take more psych classes.

Language is a confusing subject overall, but she posts lecture slides, and is willing to go back and explain things. 3 tests(she does curve), and lab participation are the grades. Buy the book, you do a lot of reading. There are LOTS of articles to read too. Overall she's great and made the subject interesting,fun and if you go to class, clear.

Professor Gross was my absolute FAVORITE professor for my winter semester. She is so helpful, sweet, and organized. If you ask her questions, she'll love you. Goto every class. You'll miss vital info in just one day. Exams are tricky because they cover the lectures and book material which we don't cover in lectures. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I took AP psych so I didnt have to study much. I do recommend going over the book bc there are different studies then high school psych. I only went to class for exams and I am passing with an A. Her exams are straightforward with 3 sections; notes from lecture, notes from the book and lab questions from online homework. I HIGHLY recommend her.

Jenny Gross is hilarious and very helpful! The class requires a lot of studying and reading, but if you do her study guides the exams are a piece of cake! She is very passionate and has a ton of knowledge, even on other subjects! Great person and professor! :)

Prof Jenny one of the most hardworking and kindhearted professor that I have taken. But be warned she's a tough grader and doesn't take slackers of a student.

Prof. Gross is awesome- the class material was tough to understand, but if you went to lecture it all made sense. The exams are half made up from textbook and articles you're expected to read outside of class, which can be time consuming. Otherwise, grade is based off 3 exams (she curves) and "labs" which were the easiest assignments in my life.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! She is always so enthusiastic and happy. She curves all of her exams and gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. She relates everything back to things that are relevant to college students and can be quite funny! I never kept up with reading but instead crammed the night before (it sucked) but could still get A's!

Better than most of the other psychology professors at GV. She offers help in class and out. You have to read for every exam, but she helps by highlighting the important points in her power points. She is always clear about what is going to be on the test. She sweet funny and wants you to do well. Keeps things interesting

Professor Gross was a very nice and patient professor, however the information that was given was a lot to handle for each test. Get ready to have 7 lectures, a few labs, and usually 6 chapters on each test. She curves each test which is very nice, but it is tough if you are not very interested.

Though there are few tests, they can be very challenging and are mostly pulled from the book and outside articles. So make sure you keep up on your reading... Which is about 20 pages a week from various sources. Some of the articles can be tough to get through but she goes over the main points in class.

I love professor Gross! she is always so happy and excited to be teaching. She does assign reading from the test book for each test (there are 4 tests including the final) and her final is not cumulative! TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!!!!

Prof. Gross is a good teacher. Her lectures are easy to follow. Her tests were difficult for me. They're separated into the following sections: lecture, book, and online labs. The questions from the book are from her study guides, but they are very time consuming. She posts her lectures on BB, but she talks of test information during lecture.

She is a great professor. She really wants you to succeed and do well. Tests were a bit difficult for me. I realized too late that you should do the reading and review guide as you talk about it in class each week, not save it for the week before. After that, I took my test average from a B- to an A. Very friendly, I would recommend her!

Professor Gross was a very good teacher. Although I received a C+, the class average was a B+ (probably because I didn't read the book and didn't always show up). She made the class interesting and there were a few opportunities for extra credit, which helped me a lot. Read the book and go to class and you'll have a good grade.

She's a really great teacher, and very understanding. She's a great professor at grand valley and would recommend her to anyone. Attendance is important if you want to pass and do all the readings. They are all on the exam.

Professor Gross has so much enthusiasm for teaching! She's really easy to pay attention to in lecture. You are expected to read a lot of the textbook on your own time as well as to do weekly labs. So it's a lot of work but if you do the work you will do good on the exams. Overall a relatively easy class just time consuming.

One of the easiest classes I've taken. Lots of reading but exams are easy and she curves and gives a ton of extra credit! She is very nice but seems to dumb down the material and excessively explain simple concepts which was a bit disappointing. Lectures often felt like wasted time and I learned the most of the material from the book.

Professor Gross is very passionate about language. While she is an energetic lecturer, her powerpoints seem to be haphazardly put together and not very organized. Tests are difficult, but she is very clear on what you need to know for the test. Do the labs and you get a free 100% test grade. Overall, I liked the professor, but not the class.

Jenny is a neat woman and she definitely made class interesting. It was nice to have a professor who understood that this class is most likely not in any of our majors and so of being really harsh she did her best to make sure we could choose to learn the content in an interesting way without destroying our gpa.

Professor Gross cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She gives four tests throughout the semester and all of them were curved. The class is graded based on the four tests and weekly online lab grade. Overall I found this class interesting and would take it again.

Phenomenal professor! If you go to class you will pass. Attendance isn't mandatory but don't skip too much because some of the exam questions are based on lectures. DO THE ONLINE LABS. You should complete all 15 ON TIME because they are the easiest possible points and costed me my grade at the end of the semester. Take Prof Gross!!!!

does not do a whole lot of teaching. just reading off power points. expects us to know stuff she hasnt taught and isnt in the book or on slides.

Only used experiments to explain concepts, but never actually explains the concepts as a whole. Expects you to read the book while not teaching from the book at all. I love psychology, as it is my major, and I was very disappointed in this class.

Really easy class overall if you just go to lecture and do the labs. She has a study guide for each exam that covers content in the book but you don't need to read the book to do well it's mostly common sense. I got A's on all the exams and never fully did the readings. She also curves every exam. Pretty boring class but it's an easy A

Dr. Gross is a great professor. she is incredibly caring of her students and wants to male sure everyone understands the material. she is very sweet and always helpful. The class is graded mostly on exams but there are weekly online lab assignments that in total, count for about as much as a whole exam. Would recommend!

Gross is a high-energy professor who cares about what she is teaching. The class itself is easy and the content becomes progressively more interesting, though I felt like there was a disconnect in terms of engagement. I took this in-person but something was missing either in the content delivery or the type of work assigned.

I loved this class! Professor Gross was extremely understanding and really wanted to make her class as stress-free as possible all while making sure we were learning about the subject. Grades are made up of lots of lab reports, which were usually easy and fun, and tests which were all open book/open note and she gave us several days to complete it!

Professor Gross made me crack up. She is by far the most passionate person I have ever met and you can just tell she lives her life to the fullest. Her class was very lecture-heavy, but if you couldn't make it everything was fine. There were a few SUPER easy online "labs" to do each week or so and then 3 exams (all open note and online).
