She loves to read and encourages everyone to read. She offers new and exciting material not old, redundant works of literature. ATTENDANCE determines your grade. She is willing to help as much as she can. Easy to talk too and quickly responds to emails. Better read the material cause if no one participating in class she WILL give a pop quiz.

Amazing teacher! Loved the way she integrated television and other forms of media into the coursework. As long as you do as she says and don't jump ahead, you should have absolutely no problem. She was always around to help students if they needed help. I didn't need much help with the writings, but she was very helpful when I did need help.

Come to class, do your readings, participate in discussions, and do your assignment. Guarateed that if you do all that you won't leave the class with anything less than a B. Tip: She is not like your normal Professor. So expect enthusiasm.

I took her over the summer and enjoyed her class to the point I looked forward to getting up and walking over that bridge to learn from her, bright and early in the afternoon. This was an asynchronous class. When we would meet as a class through zoom she would make sure she answered any questions people had. Such a great and sweet professor. As long as you do all of your reading responses and incorporate feedback she gives in future writings you will for sure pass!

Be on time! The professor is really nice and caring. She's always ready to help; you can email her anytime, and she responds quickly. Her classes were really helpful when I moved to 102. She always considers your opinion as long as it makes sense and you're able to support your point. This approach helped me improve my writing.

Professor Ortiz is by far my favorite professor in this school. Her lessons are very helpful when it comes to creating your own piece of writing. Professor Ortiz taste in shows are very… different, but in a good way. I wanted to finish one of the series we started in class but it's no longer steaming . Love her, highly recommend.

Attendance and participation are mandatory; it's always good to communicate with her. She's a really good professor and pushes you to be better. You just have to listen to what she wants you to do, and you will get an A.
