Had her for ENG 112 a year ago, she's much harder on the composition classes/ has much more respect for her lit classes. She does hold class discussions, but nowhere close to as in-depth as Ms. Daniels. She's still a good teacher though.

One of the brightest people I have ever met. I am glad I was in her class.

Just don't be late to class, she'll lock you out.

Don't miss a day of her class and take a lot of notes and you will get the A that you really want it, she is a good teacher, trust me you wont ever get bored in her class.

very kind, helpful and funny (well, she tries). she's very detailed in giving directions, and she gives reasonable time in between assignments, often extending due dates. I thought she was very sweet and understanding.

Sullivan is a WONDERFUL English professor! I have never missed any of her classes! You'll really learn a lot from her. Her witty remarks will also keep you laughing. You can't be late or miss a lot of classes. But she definitely prepares you for excellent college composition.

Sullivan is very good teacher;however,her tests are very hard even if you go to every single class.She only has 6 tests a semester for American lit and that is all your grades are based on.Most people don't do well until the final which is when you finally learn how to master her tests.If you miss more than 6 classes she doesnt hesitate to drop you

I took her class a few years back and really enjoyed it. She is VERY STRICT, but totally upfront about what she expects. Warning: she WILL kick you out of class for sleeping or not being prepared for the discussion. She WILL drop you if you miss too many days, regardless of your grades. But - I learned a ton and liked her immensely as a person

sullivan gets a bad rap, thats only cuz she takes s*** from no one. she is strict at times, but she gets done what needs to be done. go to class, do the work, turn it in, and you won't have a problem. 2 key factors to staying on her good side 1) always have your stuff, be prepared. 2) DONT BE LATE, SHE WILL KICK YOU OUT. BESIDES THAT, GOOD CLASS

Sullivan was excellent. She was entertaining to listen to and spoke in a way that was easy to take notes off of. Do the reading, go to class, take it seriously, and you'll do very well. If you're late, she'll kick you out. No joke. If you didn't do the homework, she'll kick you out. Do the work and succeed!

I took Sullivan for TWO semesters. If you're looking for an easy "B" class, this is it. Only 3 tests (VERY EASY) and then 3 essays (not so easy). You'll get a B in this class if you do the all the reading even in the last two weeks. You have NO homework in this class except just to read...I mean come on. This was one of my favorite teachers...

a lady who knows her****. teaches a class like its high school, but is very knowledgeable. very quirky. makes you kind of laugh even if youre not in the mood. she grades critically, but her mult. choice tests are easy and gives opportunities to catch up

most of the ppl in my class hated this teacher.she will not try to understand other ppl's situations and WILL drop you out of class if you have more than 5 absences, she doesn't care WHAT ur excuse is, u cud be dying and she will not care, other than that her tests consist of two parts (multiple choice and essay) and are not too hard.

American Lit readings are pretty difficult. Professor Sullivan admits this but helps you get through them and sometimes enjoy it. She demands your attention and expects a lot. Her enthusiasm can be contagious, so you end up liking what you read and definitely taking something with you.

if you tend to be late or put off assignments until the last minute, don't take this class. prof sullivan gets a bad rap from students who aren't the least bit serious and are looking for an easy A. if you show up on time to class with all the materials, follow her instructions on assignments, and don't miss much class, you will get an A or B.

Wow, Eng241 with her isn't too bad. 3 tests total including final. Tests are medium-easy even if you skimmed the readings, however you will have to listen in class. The essay are hit or miss, you will have to come up with an orginial idea to get an A; however you can use the book along as help w/stickies in it.You can pass with a B using sparknotes

Very strict, but follow her rules and participate- you'll make it onto her good side. Tests are easy, essays are the hard part- she wants you to mention something she hasn't gone over in class. She's not as bad as some of the other ratings suggest.

Good teacher. Class is kind of a dread to go to but she goes over stuff you'll need. She's also really nice, just follow the rules and stuff and you'll be fine.

Good analytical class. Papers and in class essays are very structured and straight forward. Good for developing your technical writing skills (not so much if your thing is creative writing). Not to difficult, but not a blow off class.

She's well prepared, she can explain the authors and analyze the literature very well. She's all business don't expect chit chat. She's approachable. A master teacher.

Really great and helpful teacher. She went over things a LOT in order to make sure all the students really understood the material. Just make sure you show up to class and come ON TIME or you'll get locked out!!

I can see how some people would give this teacher horrible marks, but like others have said... If you just come to class, pay attention, and don't do anything disrespectful, you'll probably be able to eek out an A or a B. Her essay grading is ridiculous, however.

Decent professor. She's very passionate about the subject and she can be very entertaining, but she tends to talk at you rather than start a discussion of the work of literature. She's very strict on attendance and arriving on time. The final grade is based on three MC and short answer tests and three essays. The final is not cumulative.

I loved her class! She is so involved in what shes teaching and she really explains exactly what you read. Only downside, if you don't like to read, don't take this class. It's A LOT of reading and she gives quizzes at the start of each class. Tests arent so bad just pay attention to the lecture. Also, participate! she will raise your grade!

She's Awesome! Just listen and read...that's all you need to do. And she's funny!

Mrs. Sullivan made class entertaining, despite her talking throughout most of the class. she chose interesting texts for us to read and she really did a good job of making sense of them for us. she grades essays pretty harshly, but the tests are extremely easy.

Lol @ the below comment. She's definitely an old school teacher. She will show you the same respect that you show her. She is definately knowledgable, but in English there is great variance in opinions. She's definately a strict teacher. If you're there to learn, take her, if you want an easy grade, don't.

Def Old School but she ain't that bad. As long as you do the hw, listen to her and pay attention in class, no reason to get below a B. Four Essays total (One is in class and one is final), 3 easy gram. quizzes (she gives practice ones before the real one, very similar), and easy hw. All essays were under four pages for me and I got a B in the class

She is a fairly good teacher, she can be mean sometimes. She is very set in her way of doing things, if you don't do them her way she makes you fix it so it's done her way. She is really helpful and always has office hours and responds to emails pretty quickly. Pay attention during class though, she is easy to understand if you pay attention.

She drags her lectures out too long by reiterating every last detail. Sometimes she lets you out early, but if you miss five classes she will instantly fail you. She is extremely strict -- you can't even have water in her class. If you're late, she will call you out in front of everyone. But, she's passionate and you'll learn something for sure.

Good teacher. Very good at explaining topics, and about what she expects from students. Gets angry if you are late though. Assigns readings of short stories and poems to analyze. Do the homework or you won't do well. Studied a play (and watched a film of it) that we wrote an in-class essay on. At home argument essay about a movie of your choice.

Amazing professor if you're looking to learn and improve yourself. She has high standards but she is very fair. She sometimes clarifies to the point of exhaustion, but I consider that a huge plus. I had an amazing semester in her class, and learned a ton. Definitely recommend for those seeking an academic experience. Slackers look elsewhere.

Recommend her: very knowledgeable in the material, involving, does not literally let you fall asleep,tiny contextual quiz in the beginning of class, 3 IN-Class assays!!! to write and multiple choice that is it. Not very easy class, but if you work you get A. Thumbs up, I learned American Lit.

At the start, she was a lovely nice teacher. She explains things very well, but when it came to our first essay no one got higher than a 77 and everyone in my class was very confused. Im very good in english and I would of gotten an A on that but instead I got a D! She grades harshly on papers, very high standards.

What are you all talking about?! Professor Sullivan is GREAT. Yes, you have to follow directions, but as a result of that, nobody can slack off. It's good. She is HILARIOUS, sarcastic (but not in a particularly mean way) and very, very clear on instructions if you pay attention. You have to stay on top of things, but she is an excellent teacher.

I was dreading this Major English Writers class, but Mrs Sullivan has really turned something I dreaded into something that I am actually interests me. She realizes the difficulty and realllly makes sure the class is understanding the material. She is very knowledgable and enthusiastic. I would def take this class with her if I had to take it again

Five essays, all VERY well explained and she helps you with outlines. I wasn't sure of her at first but she really knew the material she taught us and made the essays interesting. The last essay was the longest essay and to me it was the easiest to write. She's funny and easy to talk to. A few grammar tests were thrown into the curriculum as well.

Very nice teacher who is very clear in what she wants in assignments. Her lectures in class can drag on, but she only does that to make sure that every single person in class understands what's expected. As long as you attend every single class on time, turn in your work on when it's due, and participate during her lectures, she'll love you!

Prof. Sullivan is actually nicer than those previous reviews. Class is very straight forward and easy if you get the works done in time. Attendance is mandatory, more than 5 absence then you're out! She doesn't like people being late so small quizzes are at the very beginning of class so even if you're 3-5 mins late you're screwed.

She is a nice and intelligent lady. She knows her subject. She is a VERY tough grader. If you think ENG will be hard for you I wouldn't recommend her. But if you know your stuff, you will probably like her! PS no water or food in class!!
