He is really laid back and funny. He will work with you until you understand a concept. Best Chem professor I have ever had!
Really cool guy and funny. Classes were always fun and the material was really easy. Just make sure you do all the Webassign and understand all the concepts and you'll do great in this class.
The best chemistry professor ever. Would help you on anything, just go to office hours and ask him.
One of the least sympathetic teachers I've ever had. He had a great personality in class, but the test were MUCH harder than the in class and text book problems, and he did not curve at all. It seems like the subject matter comes so naturally to him that he couldnt understand that for a lot of people it was extremely hard. NOT recommended.
He is funny in class and tries to keep it light. I don't think he explains how to apply the material enough. He only gives one submission for webassign and his texts/quizzes are extremely hard, the class average on the test was a 67. It was ridiculous. I would only recommend him if you already have a good grasp on the class material.
Took him again after taking his 101 class. Still funny and relatively easy. His tests are easier than the homework problems. He's also helpful if you go see him outside of class.
he is the funniest teacher I have ever had. I love his style of teaching.. the only thing that makes me nervous is he calls upon students to do problems so make sure you dont make eye contact! hes very helpful if you have any questions.. definatly take him! best chem 101 teacher there is.. webassins help alot too
I hate Chemistry but he makes it fun and interesting. I'm laughing almost every class.
By far the funniest teacher ever. the first few weeks are not bad at all. once you get to about ch 9 though it gets rough. he goes fairly quick but is very helpful if you ask questions.
Very entertaining teacher, makes you look forward to class, however I would say be somewhat careful if chemistry doesn't come easily to you because he doesn't always explain things thoroughly. Webassigns are kinda rough sometimes.
Funny dude, but my grades weren't so funny.
I failed this class, basically, because I did horribly on one of the 3 tests. I made a D- but I needed a C- to make the class count. I loved the class, as far as him being funny and entertaining, this was a perfect professor, but as far as being able to keep up and do well? I would seriously recommend that you know a lot about chemistry before you
Great teacher and very entertaining. Class is very hard and the webassigns are time consuming, but the class was enjoyable. If you study for the tests they are not too bad.
Great class! loved it!
made every class intersting and fun. teaches chemistry in a way that makes you understand and remember. webassigns are hard and he gives very few submissions but he curves the entire class at the end of the semester so dont worry about them. definitely the best ch101 teacher there is. very helpful
Good teacher. Great person.
Funny guy, but difficult to communicate with via email. Go to his office hours or stay after class for help (otherwise don't expect anything from emails). Sometimes sarcastic, but you're never going to get a perfect professor. I'd definitely recommend him. Oh and read the book even though it stinks :)
I had him for CH101 and a summer CH201, after doing poorly in Warrens CH201 I was able to pull an A in Feducia, funny guy, just pay attention and take notes.
Very funny teacher. Makes learning a little easier with his analogies. He gives tons of help if you go to office hours. Tests were all decent. Great Profesor!
Very interesting and funny. He posts study tips that basically outline the test, if you follow this you will do well in his class. If you attend the class everyday you will do well.
DO NOT, AND I REPEAT, DO NOT...TAKE HIS ORGANIC I CLASS! He does not do a good job of explaining, and assigns homework that is so hard you might as well just not do it. The examples he goes over in class are by no comparison as hard as the POP QUIZ and POP HOMEWORKS he likes to assign. I recommend that you find someone else for this class.
One word, AWESOME!! Couldn't find a better organic professor. He makes class interesting and the homework helps a lot. Make sure you go to class and take good notes and he's there to help if you don't understand something. There are a few pop quizzes, but they're very similar to the examples in class. Highly recommend taking his orgo class!!
Organic is not an easy class in the first place, but Dr.Feducia makes the class as fun and interesting as he can. He is a great teacher who knows his subject very well. The webassigns help a lot and he on his class website he has a lot of helpful study tips that basically tell you what will be on the exams. If you make an effort, you will succeed!
He is the best chemistry teacher I have ever had at State. I would choose him over anyone else for this material (or any other courses he's teaching for). He's very respectful, helpful, entertaining, and tries to break it down so it's makes more sense. If you can choose him then do! You won't regret it.
Dr.Feducia made Organic 2, and Chem 201 easier to learn! Take advantage of his office hours and you will have no problem getting a B or better. He explains material better than any other teacher I've had, and the best part....NO WEBASSIGN!!!!!!
Dr. Feducia was a great teacher. I took his 201 during the 5-week summer and it was and easy A. He is really helpful if you need any help, and his lectures are crystal clear with tons of examples and problems. I'm planning on taking his organic 1 and 2 as well.
Feducia is a great instructor. I really have nothing bad to say. He's got an incredibly busy instructional schedule this semester, teaching 4 sections of 221, but he still makes time for any student that wants his help. I will be taking 223 with him in the Spring.
Dr. Feducia is a really great teacher, and explains the material well. However, his tests are difficult and he has been inconsistent (with me) with showing up to office hours for help when I really need it. Plus Webassigns are assigned twice a week, at least for OChem I.
He is probably by far the best instructor I've had in NSCU. I took 201 and 221 with him and he is really helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend taking his classes.
Be prepared to work for your grade. I have found of the positive comments some are very exaggerated. Generally, unsympathetic to students who are not succeeding in his class. Don't expect to get any feedback by emailing him and don't expect a lot of flexibility in your grade.
Great teacher, very clear, works through problems during class, fast paced. Keep up with the work and should be fine.
Great teacher!
Dr Feducia is a great teacher! his teaching style is very clear and the class is well paced.Reading the book before class is a good idea. However,he is not an easy teacher you will have to work for your grade and he does not curve individual assignments. His class gives you a solid foundation in Organic Chem. Highly recommended.
He will explain concepts well. you have to pay attention to small things as he likes to ask questions on them. Over all as long as you attend and do the work (including the optional practice problems) you will pass this class
Class is an easy A. Literally, all you have to do to get an A in this class is simply attend and focus on the homework. I did awful in organic 1, with another teacher, but after taking Dr. Feducia for 2, I managed a VERY high grade. just focus on the hw and you'll do great!! Definitely reocommend him.
He is a great instructor. Very clear, explains material perfectly, helpful in office hours, and gives out sufficient amount of HW. However, he is very strict, no curves on grades, a lot of attention to detail in exams. Attend lectures, take good notes, and go to office if something is not clear before exams, you'll do fine!
Many of these positive comments are grossly exaggerated. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he wrote half of these himself. Very tough teacher, worked super hard and got a B-. For reference sake, I got an A+ in organic 221 (the first organic). Decent teacher, but condescending and very difficult to get along with at times.
Don't expect a lot of help from Feducia. He is awful with e-mail, tests are extremely tricky, often it's difficult to see exactly what he wants on them. Makes students feel uncomfortable by walking around the room and peering at their notes. Try to take someone else if at all possible.Explains material well though.
Feducia is, overall, a fairly decent professor. There are many different analogies for the various orgo professors, and the one I've head for him is "teaches as fast as possible and hopes you get help in office hrs." He is helpful in office hours, however. Tests are very challenging but fair based on the homework and book problems. Sarcastic guy
He's fairly good at explaining the material, but lacks in just about every other respect. Tests contain trick questions, and don't expect any indication of what you did wrong or a key. Zero review, even for the final. Often ignores emails. Overall, not a good experience, even for chemistry.
Feducia is a sarcastic dude. He is very intelligent in the field and he was easy to understand during class in my opinion. He does many practice problems during class and goes over them. Material for this course is challenging in itself, you just have to put in the time on practice problems from Webassign out of class.
The subject isn't that hard. He makes it straight forward, but his exams are confusing. You have to read very carefully and he gives no partial credit, if its WRONG ITS WRONG. His comment about being approachable is kind of a lie. He is willing to help you at FIRST, but after he will ignore you or try to get you out of his office asap.
Feducia is an excellent choice for organic. Besides Sandberg, he may be the best professor for the subject. While he can be standoffish sometimes, he is truly invested in helping his students, and explains the material in a way that makes sense. For all you pre-meds... the teacher really makes the course for organic, and I recommend him highly.
Okay, Feducia is hot. He is. And he is smart and witty and may make you cry in his office if you're struggling because he will KNOW if you're not putting in effort. Regardless, he is super helpful in said office hours & he gives you challenging practice problems that help you on the exams. He explains things really well, but gives no partial credit
He is a brilliant teacher. If you go to his office hours he will help you out. He may seem like a condescending jerk in the beginning but the more you come he will become nicer to you and help you out. His test his straight forward on what he teaches you in class. I highly recommend him!
He is sarcastic, blunt, and a little stand-offish which bothered a lot of people but I found it great. Brilliant man, knows what he's talking about. The class is hard, of course, but I DEFINITELY recommend taking him. Go to his office hours. He may make you feel stupid afterwards, but the office hours help SO SO much, so swallow your pride and go.
Feducia is very sarcastic and can seem a little mean at times but is always willing to help. His tests are hard and he throws trick questions on them but if you study and work hard, you should be able to do well in his class especially with the curve at the end
Feducia is by far my favorite professor at NCSU. The material is very tough but if you attend class and pay attention, he is easy to understand.
He gives you all the information you need to do well on his tests in class. I studied my notes and watched a few youtube videos and did very well and I'm a business major. You do not need to be a genius to do well in this class, just study a week before each test and redo all his in class problems and worksheets he gives you. 6 pt. curve to an A+
He comes off as kind of jerky but he is actually very helpful and really willing to help you if you go to his office hours. He is easy to understand in class and his exams follow majority of what he says. You do have to study and memorize everything he said though, and take really good notes in class.
Contrary to other posts hes extremely helpful and there are no trick questions. The material is confusing but his lectures are very orderly. He does his best to help students understand. Go to office hours and he wont let you leave until youve got it. Hes smart+young, so he uses sarcasm/snark. Makes lectures actually fun and interesting. Loved him
Feducia is a great teacher i enjoyed taking him for CH 223. However, he will make you work for your grade and make you actually understand the material so you do have to put in the effort if you want to get a good grade in his class, he's not easy. Highly recommend though!
The class was well structured, and what would be tested was clear. The worksheets on moodle and the sapling hw was very useful, and similar to what was on the test. He's not the easiest, but probably the best organized and clearest. He was very helpful, but he wants to see that you are making an effort. He's also kind of sassy, which was amusing.
Feducia's class is not easy by any means but he gives you all the information and material to do well. Go to his office hours, he is more than helpful. I took him for CH 221 so I was used to his teaching style. He is very organized and a great teacher. I would recommend him.
He is extremely helpful when you ask questions. Go to his office hours if you do not understand something and he will be more that happy to assist you. If you study for his tests you should be okay. Also DO NOT pull out your cell phone in class. He is kinda sarcastic which is very entertaining.
He's the best chemistry professor ever!!!!
Lectures are very clear and straight forward. He is always willing to answer questions. Do not be afraid to go to office hours. DO NOT skip class you will regret it.
Take good notes in the lecture and read the online textbook. No pop quizzes, but there are assignments and quizzes in the recitation.
His tests were pretty challenging, if you don't study. I made a mistake of not studying too much for the tests, and I regret it. He's a really good professor, and he's really funny. You can always ask him questions, whether it be during lecture or after class or in his office, and he's very helpful. Just go to class, and his class is piece of cake.
He works to help the students to show interest and give effort. Not a bad class, but fairly difficult. Great teacher in office hours.
don't take him for chem 101..... he makes you learn material that isn't even in the chem 101 curriculum. although i hear he is a great organic teacher, he is a terrible 101 teacher. do not take him . he is crazy hard.
If you go to class, there is no chance of failing. He explains everything very well and everything on the test was taught in class. Has a dry sense of humor and can be really funny at times. I was upset that I didn't have to take chemistry again after the end of the semester. Would definitely take his class again if I ever got another opportunity.
Nice guy, but very difficult subject and he teaches at a fast pace.
Dr. Feducia is great teacher. He does explain things pretty well, but you have to make sure you do your part and go to him if you don't understand some material. Overall his lectures are pretty cool.
Dr. Feducia made my summer of organic chemistry way better than I'd expected. He knows the material is tough and isn't going to go out of his way to make things easy, but he also cares that you actually learn; his lectures are great and he is fantastic at office hours. Tests and grading are fair. Would absolutely take him again.
Feducia is really good at explaining organic and his lectures are super clear. He's extremely helpful outside of class and in his office hours, which really help. His tests aren't that bad if you study (a lot), but he definitely makes sure that you know the material really well. Definitely the best organic professor!
Dr. Feducia's CH101 class didn't feel like a giant lecture class. He's able to keep class interesting, while going over all the material for the class. He's pretty funny and makes the class go by a lot faster with the printable fill-in-the-blank-notes that go with his power point presentations. It's not an easy-a, but it's worth it.
Dr. Feducia curves your final grade at the end of the semester. His lectures are concise, easy to understand, and the problem session for his class is useful. He's strict on phone use and will give pop quizzes if he sees them. He values office hour visits and vocal participation in class. Definitely is geared toward his student's success.
Dr. Feducia is kind, very sarcastic, and very knowledgable about this subject. Ask questions if you have them (I didn't, you see my grade). Don't buy the textbook, there's a free pdf online & he uploads guided notes, which is all you'll need to study. Tests are hella hard so study well in advance. In the end he will curve your final grade.
Best. Demos. Ever. I highly recommend.
Dr. Feducia was definitely my favorite professor this semester. He is funny, extremely helpful, and cares about his students. Go to his office hours!! The material is difficult, so don't think you can get by without showing up to class. I took him for Chem 101 this semester, and plan on taking him for Orgo next semester.
Fantastic professor! His lectures are very interesting and cover the course materials clearly. The amount of homework is just perfect. Most questions in exams are not difficult but there will be challenging priblems sometimes.
I took Feducia for CH101 last semester, I am taking him for Orgo now. Great at explaining difficult material in a way to understand. I look forward to class every week. Lectures are interesting and extremely helpful so don't think you can skip.
I had him for the 8:30 Orgo 1 and he was extremely sassy for that early in the morning. He is extremely helpful if you try and ask questions and go to office hours. you will definitely earn the grade you deserve. You need to put in effort and do the homework and work on practice problems.
He's good at explaining concepts, but didn't give many examples. You definitely have to work hard outside of class, but he gives you all the resources you need to do well
Maybe the best professor I've ever had. In addition to doing a great job of explaining material that is totally new to most students, he makes the class fun with his sarcastic remarks and down-to-earth approachability. His tests are 100% fair. If you work hard, practice problems and learn what he teaches, you will do well. Don't be lazy.
I had heard all the typical horror stories about Organic Chem as a freshman and was scared to death about taking this class but in this case the professor makes all the difference. Dr Feducia is a really awesome professor very funny and engaging while still giving lectures that are thorough and helpful. Class is very difficult but he makes it fun.
Quickly becoming the best and my most favorite professor I've ever had. He is so thorough in his explanations of the concepts in organic chemistry and explains things in a way that just make sense. He's also very funny which is nice in such an intense subject. He's absolutely wonderful and you won't regret taking him!!!!!
Took orgo 1 and 2 with him over 1 summer. It was a lot of material and he realizes the concepts are hard, but he does a great job explaining them. His skeleton notes really help. He provides great study guides before the tests, and if you can work through those correctly, you will be more than fine in the class.
He is an amazing teacher that explains the information very well especially if you go to office hours. Organic chemistry is a really hard class, but he gives you study tips in class and if you practice the problems like he says and work hard to learn the material, you can do great with his straightforward tests that still make you think.
I would highly recommend taking his class. Teaches the material well and cracks the occasional joke or two. He also talks about the applications of the concepts a lot too, which is nice because it makes class feel more meaningful. Orgo is a tough class no matter what you do, but Feducia will give your everything you need to succeed.
Orgo II is very different from Organic I. Feducia does a great job at bridging difficult concepts and turning large ideas into bitesize pieces. DO NOT skip class; he doesn't record attendance (even if he says he does) but you won't understand anything if you do skip. Talk to him outside of class and do review sheets. Tests can be challenging.
Feducia is an awesome professor who knows his info. His lectures are very straight forward and his pre-printed notes and worksheets are VERY helpful. He definitely makes you work but he curves the overall final grade. I'm taking him for Orgo 2 next semester and am not worried about it at all.
Orgo Chem is hard, thats a fact. Didn't have a great Orgo 1 teacher, but Feducia made up for that. He has any supplemental material online. He has a very structured note system, the entire schedule for what material is covered on each day is online. Do the practice problems, study what he has online for tests and you should do fine in the class
Dr. Feducia is absolutely incredible. He genuinely cares about his students and that they understand the applications of organic chemistry in the real world. Helps that he is hilarious. Study the material he provides and tests will be fine. He gives "pop" quizzes but usually tells you there will be one. AWESOME GUY! Would take again, no question!
I had Feducia for orgo 1 and he was great. I have taken him again for orgo 2 and he has been absolutely wonderful once again. He provides students with everything they could possibly need to do well. Organic chemistry can be scary but when Dr. Feducia is your professor, it somehow becomes less scary and much more manageable.
Dr. Feducia is hands down the best professor that I have EVER had! I sat thru Orgo 2 several times, before taking this class with him. He not only knows what he is talking about but also knows how to organize and teach the material. I was horrible at Organic Chemistry, but he was able to teach me (in 1 summer session)! He is all aroundPERFECT!
Dr. Feducia was a great choice for Orgo 2. Go to class and take plenty of notes. If you are still struggling, go to office hours or SI for extra practice. Retake quizzes, re-do worksheets, and study your notes and you will do great on exams!
RUN! No, seriously, RUN! Worst professor I've ever had for Chemistry. Every day he acted annoyed to be there and blew me and other students off all the time for questions. Good luck figuring out his exams too. Questions are written to trick you and questions will set you back 12-14 pts each so good luck passing if you miss only a couple things
I had Feducia for Quantitative Chemistry. Not sure if he will ever teach it again but he's really good at teaching it. Tests and quizzes are fair- he's not trying to punish you he just wants to see if you know the stuff! He gives partial credit and curves at the end of the semester. My favorite Chemistry class at NCSU by FAR!!!!
Dr. Feducia is a great teacher. The material is difficult and he goes quickly, but really tries to make sure everyone understands. He is easy to approach outside of class and very willing to help. He gives plenty of examples and resources that are helpful for the exams. The class is difficult and study time is a must.
201 is supposed to be easy, but it's not with Feducia. If you don't take EXTREMELY good notes, you're screwed. He wants you to take good notes, so he won't post any sort of helpful resource online. And tests are worth 85% of the grade. His sapling homeworks suck too - you loose 10 pts off of each question with every try. Avoid him.
I had Feducia for Orgo 1, and I got a D-. I retook with Philip Brown , who's supposedly the worst orgo prof according to this site, and I got a B+. Feducia expects too much of your note-taking. And when I went to him to ask him if he could post the Powerpoints online, he flat out refused. I was shocked. He didn't try to help at all. :(
The one good thing I have to say about Feducia is that his lectures are great. He is engaging and he gives you opportunities to work out problems in class. Cons: His tests are DUMB hard and he is very condescending when you ask him a question about the content directly. Also, don't rely too heavily on the curve. It's pretty small.
Was nervous going into orgo 2 after taking Sandberg's orgo 1, but Feducia was amazing. He's caring and wants you to understand the material. Friendly, funny, and available in office hours for extra practice. Do the book HW, and def his worksheets--they're similar to the exam questions. His exams are straightforward--he doesn't try to trick you.
He is super good at explaining and will give refreshers on orgo 1 concepts. DO his worksheets! They're key to what type of questions he'll put on the exams. The exams are straightforward and fair, no tricks! Keep up with the material and do the hw and the class isn't difficult. He makes you work for your grade. He does curve the class at the end
He is extremely well versed in this material and will go out of his way to help if he sees that you're putting in the effort. Tests are challenging but all the way fair. DON'T FALL BEHIND. He has a very organized moodle page and has study guides that list everything you need to succeed in the course. There is a course curve at the end.
As a junior, Feducia is easily my favorite professor I've had. He will answer any question, he can dumb organic chem down enough for anyone to understand. Go to his office hours! He won't make the class easy but he won't try to trick you, and he will meet you halfway if he sees you making an effort. Plus his sideburns are out of this world.
I took this class after taking Sandberg for Orgo1, he is the best chemistry teacher at NCSU imo. He was enthusiastic and really wants you to do well as long as you put in the effort. Go to office hours!! They are pretty much problem sessions. It's a hard class but he makes it a little less painful. Summer session is fast paced but you remember it.
Dr. Feducia is amazing. I will sing his praises all day long. His tests are clear and just to access your knowledge. The man hasnt written a trick question in his life. Do his worksheets, go to class, do the book problems, and theres no reason you wont pass with an A
Hardest class I have ever taken, but Feducia made it bearable. He is a great professor and you will have fun in the lecture! However, if you do not study hard outside of class and practice, you will not pass. Be prepared to work hard.
If you're taking orgo 1 at ncsu, this is the professor you want. Dr Feducia makes the class you hear horror stories about seem possible and even something you can succeed in. He has a great ability to explain any problem to any student allowing them leave fully understanding the problem. He also is super funny and you'll look forward to lecture.
Dr. Feducia is hilarious and personable. He is very in touch with his students and therefore teaches in a way that is easy to understand and very clear. I considered taking orgo 2 so I could have him as a professor again, if that says anything. Also, GO TO OFFICE HOURS, they are extremely useful, plus he is a lot of fun to talk to during them!
Hardest class Ive ever taken, but Dr. Feducia made it understandable and interesting. Its not easy, but if you're willing to work for it you will succeed in this class. His lectures are very engaging and he makes the material easy to understand. His tests are hard but if you do the worksheets and go to office hours then they are straightforward.
One of the best overall teachers I have ever had. He does an amazing job teaching the material and ensuring that you understand it. His tests are a very fair representation of the material. 100% would recommend taking him for Orgo.
I took Orgo 1 with Gorman last semester and failed it, and this semester I took it with Feducia and got a B+. He cares about his students and makes sure that any questions we may have during lecture are answered. He likes to joke around too, which makes lecture more fun. I even decided to take Orgo 2 over the summer since he's teaching it.
Dr. Feducia is very good at lecturing. He always answers questions and makes a point to answer any and all questions students have. Overall, a really good choice for organic if you are worried about passing.
Class consisted of three parts 1) Lecture: intriguing and engaging, but very fast paced 2) Homework: few assignments (1-2 per week) but very easy to get poor grades on. Does relate to lecture, but MUCH more complicated 3) Exam: all orgo exams are hard because it's almost impossible to study for so buckle up :)
Dr. Feducia is one of gods greatest gifts. He's stern and can be a little edgy at times, but he is easily the greatest professor I've had at school. His class is outstanding and he makes sure to teach everything very well. Use his note print outs and worksheets and you'll be fine. Don't forget to review as well
He's a very sweet person and really tries to make the class enjoyable and doesn't try to trick you. He does a very good job explaining the material and does lots of practice. He even holds review sessions after class as office hours for any open questions or examples you could want. Understood the material much better than other people I know!
Dr. Feducia was really clear when it came to explaining tough subjects in orgo 1. He was straightforward about what would be on exams and his practice problems in class + homeworks helped me study for them. Content got harder throughout the semester and the final was tough, but he curved the grades a few points in the end. Pretty proud of my B+.
Dr. Feducia is amazing. I would take him for every single class here at NC State if I could. If you have him you are in great hands.
Dr. Feducia is. great professor. Make sure you do tons of practice problems from lecture and from his worksheets and you will do well. If you don't understand something, ASK. Tests were very straightforward.
Dr. Feducia was very well spoken about the topics covered in organic chemistry, especially in a 5 week session during the summer, online! He made the material easy to understand and provided many outlets to practice that material, including office hours and supplemental instruction. Tests covered exactly what we learned in class. Awesome guy!
He teaches concepts well and is extremely fair on exams--if you go to class and take good notes, you'll do great on exams and quizzes. I would highly highly recommend him! He grades by few things though so watch out for that, basically exams (including final) are 65% of your grade.
Dr. Feducia was a pretty good chemistry teacher! He has a good sense of humor and really cares about his students! He was very accessible outside of class & willing to help if you went to office hours. If you need to miss class for some reason, he is understanding & will send you the zoom link so you can watch on your own time! (zoom because COVID)
Dr. Feducia is an awesome professor but if you didn't have AP Chemistry it will be difficult. Also if you don't pay attention in class or read the textbook, I wish you good luck. The tests are all open-ended questions and there are rarely multiple-choice questions. Make sure to complete the sapling because they are very easy to forget about.
Orgo is a tough class but he made the material easy to understand. Super clear about what will be on the test, just do his worksheets and the end of chapter problems and you'll be fine. Had him during COVID and he was super helpful and understanding, gave a couple of inspirational speeches and took the time to make sure his students were okay.
Dr. Feducia is my favorite professor I've had so far. He is funny and extremely caring and encouraging. Does everything he can to help you succeed. While you definitely have to put work into the class he makes it worth it.
The class is hard but studying your notes and doing his worksheets will help you significantly. Online Orgo sounds like a nightmare and it was, but Feducia was mindful of the situation. He is a fair and gives snarky jokes throughout the classes
Love Dr. Feducia! Not only is he such a caring, nice person, he is an amazing teacher. If you don't understand something, he will spend time outside of class making sure you understand. He makes learning organic chemistry fun and easy. His exams are straightforward without any tricks. He is my fav professor; wish every professor was a Dr. Feducia!
he was such a good teacher and really explained stuff in detail the tests were not too hard but you def had to study for them
Dr. Feducia is an all around amazing professor. Taking one of the hardest courses, he made it fun, understandable, and simple to work through. As the semester went on and reactions became more complex, he remained calm and always walked us through problems to better help our understanding of any subject.
Dr. Feducia is the teacher to take for orgo chem. He does a great job reviewing gen chem topics, so don't worry if it's been a few years for you! I took this over 5 weeks in summer. So much content in so little time. It's possible, but don't take any other classes. 2 tests 25% each, 1 final 20%, 5 quiz 20% (lowest one dropped). Good luck!
Dr. Feducia is the best chem professor at NCSU hands down. Yes, organic chemistry is a tough but he makes it tolerable. Lectures are extremely useful and he explains everything clearly and in a way students can understand. Tests are fair and if you study you will pass. If you are debating on which chem professor to take 100% go with Feducia.
Dr. Feducia got me to enjoy a class I truly considered to be the bane of my existence. I could not recommend him enough. He gives you many practice problems and resources to help you study, gives great feedback on exams and you can tell he truly cares about his students success in his class.
Feducia is clearly very excited to teach and wants students to succeed. He has a very comprehensive understanding of chemistry which is incredibly beneficial if you're his student.
Feducia is a great guy. Easily the best orgo prof at state. Would 100% take this class again.
Organic is an anti-bs/cramming class, you have to spend time understanding why stuff is occurring, or else you are not going to do well. Exams are pretty fair, but it's a good chunk of material with small details, meaning you need to study ahead of time to do well. It's a hard class, but feducia makes it bearable as long as you put the work in.
Seriously the best prof I have ever had. Cannot recommend his class enough - chemistry is not my strong suit but he makes topics easy to understand and is very accessible outside of class. Definitely recommend attending his office hours for additional help with the material if you're struggling.
This course is a difficult one! Feducia is a great professor and knows what he is talking about. It is easy to get confused so stay on task and get ready to take notes. Tests are difficult so make sure to ace homework grades.
He's a good professor but not the greatest person. Can be kind of conceited and doesn't record his lectures, which sucks if you're immunocompromised and in a stuffy classroom.
I suck at orgo, but feducia made the class enjoyable and I ended up passing after failing orgo 2 with kramer.
Dr. Feducia is great at actually helping you understand the why and how in orgo, rather than just throw a bunch of mechanisms and reactions at you to memorize. He's not the kindest man in the world, but he does care about his job and knows what he's talking about. If you put in the effort, you can not just pass but do very well in this course!
Dr. Feducia is an incredible professor and by far my favorite I've had at NC State. He's always enthusiastic about teaching and always good for a dad joke or two. Organic chem is a tough class and he knows it, but he sets realistic expectations and his grading is fair. Don't be afraid to ask for help and take advantage of his office hours!
Great professor overall. Took him over the 5-week summer course. It was difficult, but if you take notes (even on the little things he says),watch his videos, do his practice sheets and homework, you will most likely do fine. Don't underestimate his tests, you still need to study hard (especially synthesis, and mechanisms (reactants, products).
He was a good professor but won't hold your hand through the material, so expect to spend a lot of time outside of class if you want to do really well on the tests! This class is definitely doable if you put in the time and Feducia will always be there to answer any questions. His office hours were problem sessions which were really helpful.
Took him over the summer in a 5 week session. Typical orgo class (was my second time taking orgo 2) but I managed to pass after failing with Kramer. Definitely take Feducia if you have the chance
Orgo 2 is a difficult class, but Feducia is a great teacher! I went to every lecture, printed out/took notes, did the worksheets and went to SI and office hours and got a B+. Office hours are like an additional problem session and I highly recommend. I also skimmed through the book occasionally. Bonus: great dad jokes in lectures.
I really don't know what the chem department would do without Feducia. He clearly cares about the subject and his students from both being as accessible as he can to being engaging both during lecture and office hours. Realy great and approachable dude.
Overall he's a great man who knows a lot about chemistry. He's available through office hours and is willing to plan a one-on-one office hour with you. When it comes to the class, its hard and the tests are absolutely no joke. If you're like me and want a teacher who you feel comfortable enough to ask to dumb something down for you, this isn't it.
He is a great professor who truly cares about his students! He is approachable and very responsive to emails. Attendance is not mandatory, but I would highly recommend coming to each lecture, as they are very helpful. Tests are hard and there are only three of them. While this class was not easy, it would have been harder with any other professor.
Dr. Feducia is an amazing Chemistry instructor who really cares about his students. He explains topics well in his lectures so don't skip them! He assigns a lot of homework, but one can really learn a lot from those assignments.
Dr.Feducia is one of the best professors I have ever taken. He is always willing to schedule office hours if he is available and he really does care about his class and his students. His lectures are interesting and very important for success in the class. His exams have challenged me like no other before so studying often is very important.
The best Org chem professor there is. I had to take org chem a couple of times and he was the one that made sense to me. Trust him with all he asks you to do. Orgo chem is a language, you need to practice it and it will become really easy. Exams are fair and you have to forget about cramming because IT AIN'T GONNA WORK.
I loved the lectures in ch103. Even in the beginning when he just reviews what we've learned in high school, he talks about it in a new way that makes it really interesting. There's a good mix of homework and exams that make it so you can still do well if you don't do so hot somewhere, and he's more than willing to help you out if you ask.
Took him during the 5 week summer course and it is VERY manageable. He is great and I know some students struggled but if you find yourself stuck please go to his office hours, he really wants you to pass. To be fair I really didn't study and I still received a good grade and I hope that eases the fear of orgo. I wish you the best of luck in orgo!
Feducia is a fine professor but he is very arrogant. He has the mindset of "not my problem" if you are struggling. He is for sure better than most orgo professors however his general attitude isnt great. He's pretty funny and class is entertaining but he lacks compassion. I would take him over other professors but wouldn't be happy about it.
I took orgo 1 and 2 with Dr. F over the summer. He's an excellent professor with clear expectations. Do all the practice worksheets and textbook problems. His office hours are problem solving sessions, and the questions he asks there are similar to those on exams. Study hard and attend office hours and you can get an A.
I love Feducia, he truly cares about his students and respects them. Loved Friday favorites! He's a good teacher you just need to come lectures and you'll learn a lot. Just go over notes and use the textbook to work problems and you'll do fine. Tests can be a bit hard and there will be a couple of curve balls but you won't fail imo.
I genuinely loved having Dr. Feducia as a professor. He made tough concepts comprehendible, and he constantly cracks jokes! His tests are tough if you don't study, but (most) exam content is material we've seen in class. He genuinely cares a lot for us, taking the time to remember us by name and helping us understand more about ourselves and chem.
The class can be challenging at times, but if you pay attention during lectures, do your work, and go to office hours, you are set. Dr. F is an amazing professor and person, and works really hard to ensure you understand the topics if you reach out for help.
Took Feducia's CH223 class - he's a knowledgeable prof, but can be tough. If you put in the work, use resources like unstuck AI for practice, and attend office hours, you'll do well. Engaging lectures, fair exams.
I love Dr. Feducia. He cares SO much about you as a person. If you want an easy A, this is not the class, but if you want to learn, it is. I feel very prepared for Orgo 2. This class requires determination and outside practice constantly. Start from day 1 getting in good habits of practice. His quizzes are helpful (4) and 2 tests plus final.
Hilarious and very caring. Though the class was difficult, he provided many resources to help you succeed. Even though it wasn't an easy A(-), I learned A LOT in this class and am prepared for Orgo 2. Dr. Feducia is also very accessible outside of class and is funny, making lectures enjoyable.
Feducia is the best! He really helps you when needed, but you need to put in the work as well. CH221 is a hard class, and he sets you up for the MCAT and everything else really well.
Dr. Feducia is my favorite professor at NC State. He wants nothing but for his students to succeed. He is always there if you need him outside of class. The homework and the PCAs are there to help you and the exams are extremely fair if you study! I loved his teaching style and he started every class with a joke. Take orgo with him!
Feducia was great and I would take his class again! The only thing I struggled w/ was that he doesn't post his lectures on Panopto, which makes it hard to go back and look at content you want to see again or if you miss a lecture for an unexcused reason. He's funny, clearly cares, and wants you to succeed. Amazing prof, truly a great teacher!
feducia was great! he's funny and cares about your performance in the clas. orgo is a brutal class but i actually enjoyed his class and found him really useful. definitely study on your own time, you won't do well otherwise.
I took his Organic Chem II class a while ago. Dr. Feducia was one of THE BEST professors I had at State!! You have to go to class, pay attention & practice outside of class as well. His office hours were very helpful. My highest score on the DAT was in organic chem, and I attribute a lot of that to him being a great teacher.
Overall, really nice and respectful guy. His lectures could be boring at times, but he was very knowledgeable and worked to make sure everyone understood the material. He was very clear with his expectations and didn't overcomplicate anything. He is one of the only people who makes you challenge what you know and what you are learning.
Dr.F is one of the best professors I've had at state. He is quite funny, cares about his students, and wants you to succeed in and out of the classroom. Even held an entire class just on life perspective. Orgo is hard. This class is hard. If you want to do well, you will. His office hours are extremely helpful and he is great over email too!!
Struggled with keeping up with the amount of work in this class, but that was expected. Just go to class, actually do the work, and get help early on. Not the class to get behind in, but he is very helpful when help is needed. Wish he posted lectures but has other videos and would send lectures when asked usually.
I hated gen chem and then took orgo with Dr. F and loved it! He tells dad jokes almost every class and they are actually funny. I also enjoyed office hours. The exams were fair and if you attend office hours, questions are very similar to those.
