I believe this class was hard and required a lot of hours of work. I hate working with fire (welding, plasma cutting, etc) and I had to overcome that fear in this class which was good. The professor encouraged me to give the best of me and I think that is what motivated me to keep going on the semester.
Loved working with wood and steel in 3D, but didn't necessarily love the assignments given. I wish we could have made practical pieces or something that would eventually help me with photography. But he was always willing to help and give you his opinion. He cares about his students.
Good professor, not too rough. Grades pretty fairly and lays out all of the requirements for assignments clearly; and grades according to those requirements.
Great Professor, a lot of the class time is spent doing projects.
Jeremie is a great man and really fair when working with individuals. 3D Design was a really interesting course with a variety of assignments to learn the content. I learned a lot.
Prof Riggs is a pretty tough grader on projects. He almost never does lectures or teaches from a textbook. Everything is pretty much hands-on in this class, but often you don't feel like you have anything to work on during class time.
Great professor, he is respectable and in return respects you. He makes you work for your grade, but it pushes you to be better. I have enjoyed him as a professor for the last two classes I took with him and would recommend.
At first meeting, I thought Prof Riggs couldn't care less about my existence. It felt as though we couldn't quite read each other. However, when the going got tough in other classes for me, he was very understanding and willing to adjust my project schedule. If you work hard and put in the time, he'll throw grace your way.
Really invests in student projects. If you have a problem or need extra help, he will make the time. He wants his students to do well.
He is GREAT, he read us prayers and i find it very
He's cool but show up for class.
He's enthusiastic and enjoyable, but also asks you to think more creatively based on the assignments. The class is easy going.
Prof Riggs is a great teacher- lots of enthusiasm! Participation is really key with this class- putting in effort and being willing to work hard goes a long way.
He is always joyful and excited for class time. He is light-hearted and enjoys talking with students, while also staying on task and motivating us to "DO WORK!"
He's a real nice guy, kinda quirky but I mean he's an art professor so it comes with the territory.
Professor Riggs cares deeply about the progression of the students and their artwork. I deeply recommend taking a class with him!
High expectations and reasonable time given to achieve them. Great Class.
Prof. Riggs is someone who encourages you to push yourself in your work. He is helpful when you lose your way in the creation process and helps you just start on your work.
Wants you to work hard at what you do and cares about his students. Makes the classroom a fun environment that you want to come to every day.
Good teacher
you have a blast in class.
Class is a lot of work but it is very rewarding in the end. Makes us push ourselves to do our best.
I had fun in his class, but I've always had trouble when it came to his grading. Whatever I did on purpose, he didn't like so i was docked points. It got frustrating, but i wasn't too bad. And be prepared to use the Studio Hours. You'll need it .
Be ready do DW (do work) and put up with his constant children's movie quotes!
Prof Riggleman is an excellent source of wisdom and inspiration. He really cares about helping students make high quality creations.
Riggs is super fun to have as a professor. He makes learning about all sorts of art interesting and challenges you to push yourself creatively. Projects take a long time to work on if you want to do well, but overall Riggs made my time in a 3d class (as a graphic artist) fun and worthwhile.
Very particular about attendence and highly encourages students to get work done earl on projects.
Very caring and gives great feedback!
This class was challenging but really beneficial. Often times he tends to grade towards what he likes i.e. animals, bright colors etc. and so while that's not bad it can be a little frustrating. He is super helpful and wants students to succeed. If you put the work in you'll get a decent grade
The class is graded with 4 big projects, so if you do poorly on one it would be hard to get a good grade. However, offers good feedback and is always available outside of class, and will help you if you are stuck.
He keeps me motivated and gives good feedback.
He challenges students to not settle and keep working towards excellence. He gives a good amount of time for completion of projects. He is passionate and excited about what he does which in turn makes cultivates a better learning environment.
Hes really open to working with students of all different types of experiences!! I really loved working with him because he worked with me and was patient! Really good prof Id recommend
Fine professor overall
Really wants to dive in and teach students how to use new materials and think about sculpture in a new way. Also, he always opens time together with prayer.
Every day we started out with a word of prayer or moment of silence something along those lines. That was something that particularly stood out to me. Also, just a fun prof to take a class from.
Prof. Riggs cares about his students. Often times I felt like I was a little lost when I asked for direction about throwing or glazes. But overall I enjoyed it and he gave a lot of time to do work.
This class is lots of work outside of class- checking on your work to see if it is dry or fired. But you learn a lot if you put in effort and are able to make some cool pieces.
Great prof that cares about his students and helps them grow in themselves and their art.
Prof Riggs cares about effort. If you dont put in effort or show that you dont care, then why are you in the arts anyways?
Prof. Riggs pushed us to find our identity in our paintings. He didn't tell us what to do or paint but set guidelines that would drive us to go a step further with our paintings.
Prof Riggleman cares about his students and enjoys working alongside them. He enjoys laughing with his students while still working and being productive. His class is engaging and enjoyable and even though it isn't super easy all the time I found I wanted to do the work for him because he rewards effort.
Enjoyed being able to focus on only two projects rather than more
Jeremie is good at pacing the course well and explaining the assignments and when they are due. We only do 2 or 3 projects for the whole semester so there aren't many grades to go off of, but there are some smaller assignments that can boost your grade if you don't do great on the projects. He is thorough and caring in his feedback as well.
best of luck.
Professor Riggleman is the man. He will help you grow in your artistic vision and give you good feedback on how to push your work further. If you need an elective, I highly suggest his class.
He does a good job of making learning fun. Definitely makes you work for the grade and won't just give out A's but overall a really great guy and wants you to succeed.
Lots of feed back and care in the result of the final project and making sure I end up with the best work I can.
Professor Riggs always pushes you to new heights in creativity and always encourages you both inside and outside of the classroom!
Professor Riggleman does a good job of helping us on our projects. He also gives good feedback on critique days.
Prof Riggs is super caring and really wants you to succeed. He really wants you to do your best work, which pushes you to do well. The way he approaches art is really inspiring!
Riggs is very laid back and very much into doing the projects right along side you. His demos can be unnecessarily long but he is always aroun do give you feedback and advice.
Prof. Riggs is a super caring professor. He really wants you to succeed all the while pushing you to be better. 10/10 would recommend.
Class is fun yet he encourage students to work hard and pushes them to reach their full potential.
Prof Riggs demonstrates care and concern for his students. He is accessible and willing to work individually with his students when needed. I really enjoy his classes!!
Riggleman is a good prof that cares a lot about his students and is willing to work with people outside of class. He wants to make sure that the students succeed and makes a fun, interesting class.
He real cares about your work and want you to do what you love.
Fun personality and loves to help students outside of class! He give you plenty of in class work time.
The workload is time consuming but not hard or difficult work. Riggs is around to give feedback and help and he always has something good to say. The projects are fun and it is overall a good class to take if you have time in the evenings to work.
Prof Riggs is a very positive presence to start the day. His expectations and grades are generally very reasonable, his instruction is clear, and his feedback is constructive.
Prof Riggs, like many other art profs, pushes you to be your very utmost creative self even at 8 in the morning. He is excited about your art and shows it during critiques by asking lots of questions and really examining not just the final product, but the process used to get there.
The entire grade of the class is made of of a small handful of projects and 2 tests. Because it is an art course, it is challenging to get an A on any of the 3D projects, but the tests are not really challenging. Good professor, shows he cares for each of the students and occasionally promotes a light mood in the class.
He is an amazing and nice guys to get to know. He just is a tough grader and you need to put tons of work onto your projects in-order to receive a high grade.
Lots of work but also super fun, prof Riggs is very accessible and down to earth. Overall great guy great prof
The work is difficult, but you reap the benefits of putting time into your work. He takes into consideration the difficulty of the work that has to be put into your project when grading your work. So, if you choose to do something easier, it is expected that you do it really well. If you choose a harder project, it isn't expected to be perfect.
Encourages students to be problem solvers and think outside the box when problems arise.
Very helpful in giving feedback & shows genuine interest in your project at hand! Good at breaking things down & helping students when they dont understand! Would definitely recommend
As long as you do your work, you will pass. If you want an A though, you need to do above the minimum.
He's a great prof who cares about his students and their success in the class. He wants to see them progress and develop and pushes them to do so!
I am not an art major, but I absolutely loved Prof Riggs' ceramics wheel-throwing class. He encouraged me so much and I improved a lot this semester.
A really great professor. Helps you in whatever you need.
Prof. Riggleman really challenges you to do your best, but he cares about you as a person. Be prepared to work really hard and throw yourself into it! It will be worth it.
Prof Riggs is great, super laid back but not apathetic at all. He's very encouraging and gives students lots of creative freedom. Only thing is that sometimes I wish he'd be a little more direct with his critiques.
Throw yourself into his class! It'll be hard, but it's so worth it.
Good prof! You have to earn the A.
Professor Riggleman gives good, clear constructions and is patient with his students. He cares about every student and lets them express their creativity with ease. He shows appreciation for participation but he also wants students to keep on track with the "mock due dates" he sets so they can stay on track in the class.
Prof Riggleman's willingness to give accommodated instruction to students and work with the class in regards to appropriately adjusting deadlines encouraged me and allowed me to improve. Riggs is very down to earth, approaches issues in a caring way, and showed above all else that he cares for his students' wellbeing and growth. Also just hilarious
Prof Riggs is fun, easy-going, and caring. He makes his classroom space comfortable and lighthearted while also challenging students to learn and reach their full potential. I loved getting the chance to take a class with him and would totally recommend him as a professor! He is knowledgable and helpful and has made class both fun and engaging!
Definitely will be spending a good amount of time on the projects, but he also lets you get a lot of work done in class which is super helpful.
I loved 3D design with prof Riggs. He does a very good job teaching everything thoroughly and gives good feedback. He always wants to help and loves when we ask questions. He also was very accommodating with altering projects when we had to switch over to online learning, which was so helpful. Definitely would take his classes again!
Riggs is the reason I fell in love with 3d work, I look forward to every class I take with him. Riggs expects you to put in the time and effort into your projects. I advise you to push yourself in his class. He always takes into account how difficult your project or design is when grading. If you choose an easy route, expect harsher grading.
This was my first introduction to a 3D art class, and Professor Riggleman really helped me to understand and grow in this regard.
Prof Riggs is one of the best profs I have taken so far. This was my first class with him, and I am already signed up for a non-mandatory class next semester with him because I liked his teaching style so much. This class was definitely weird because of being sent home because of Coronavirus, but Riggs was so accommodating and gracious with it all.
Prof. Riggleman is always ready to learn with his students and his quotes are perfect for every situation, "make it awesome," and he does.
Prof Riggs is the best! He made all students feel like they were capable of making good art even if they werent confident in themselves.
He encourages his studies to do better in their work. Hes understanding and kind but also not a push-over. Great professor!
prof Riggs is a flexible and dedicated prof. He will push you artistically and celebrate with you when happy accidents OR your main intentions happen.
great Prof.
The projects will take up a lot of time, and I certainly do not have any free time now, but this class is so fun. Prof. Riggs helps a lot in creating a fun working environment
Always dropped everything to help in the moment for anyone who needed it.
Jeremie RIggleman is a great Professor but beware the course itself; there are a lot of major projects!
This is such a fun class, but be prepared for working on projects outside of class.
This is an amazing Professor who cares for his students and wants them to grow and learn. This was my favorite class I have taken so far.
Prof Riggs was great in 3D Design. He was super accessible and always willing to clarify his comments.
Riggs isnt one of those profs that teaches at you but instead gets his hands dirty and makes work right along with you all semester. Really takes the pressure off you to perform because its really just a big group effort to create during class. Work hard and do work and youll get a good grade :)
Professor Riggleman is really chill, but he makes you work hard on your projects. Make it awesome and enjoy each Friday Junior!
My favorite professor to this day! Im a better artist because of him. If you go into a class with a willingness to learn then you are golden. The biggest thing about Riggs is that he takes into consideration how hard you are pushing yourself with the difficulty of the piece you choose to create when grading your work. Do be afraid to push yourself!
Great prof and a great class. Makes work right alongside you and you get so much first hand experience with things like bronze pouring and other crazy sculpture things. Great class!
I love prof Riggs he's super kind and insanely laid back, and he really lets you learn your way. We've had some really good conversations too, digging deeper into the philosophy of art and what it means to be an artist.
I loved this class and Riggs is a great art prof!
Professor Riggleman is a great professor who encourages the students to try their best and stretch their abilities in the field of art. He is very caring and genuinely wants the best for his students. I would highly recommend any class you can take with Professor Riggleman!
I enjoyed this course and it was a more enjoyable class due to the prof.
Best art professor I have had! I enjoyed the flexibility of the class, and that there was room for individual preferences in projects.
Loved the chance to explore all different techniques, which Prof Riggs helped me a lot on, and do projects that I was interested in.
Riggs is knowledgeble in his craft and communicates his methodology and technique well to the class, while simultaneously giving freedom to students to explore and try new things. He is gracious to students, but doesn't fluctuate the standard of quality he expects from our work. He is approachable, making space to help students outside of class.
Prof Riggs provides feedback on pieces in a way that demonstrates his trust for you as an artist. While he does make his expectations clear, he also wants you to enjoy the process and like your final product, and he gives great advice to help you achieve the result you envisioned. Hes also just a fun/laid back prof who cares about you personally!
Riggleman is a great prof who is invested in his students and will do what it takes to help them succeed. I had very little experience with clay and ceramics prior to this class, but have now grown so much and am looking forward to hopefully taking another class with him.
Gives lots of time to work on projects but projects still will take you a lot of time to complete. Professor gives good feedback on projects as you work on them so you know what to expect for the final critique.
Prof. Riggs is a wonderful professor! He is very easy to talk to, and he makes sure his students aren't stressed. Despite being very chill, he does have high expectations for his students. He very clearly wants everyone to push their creative boundaries and succeed overall.
Prof. Riggleman is a professor that I would definitely take again! I feel that I am held to high standards and also given great feedback that helps me make my projects better!
This was a fun class. Prof. Riggs gives good advice and feedback and really helps you out with assignments.
Hes great
A great professor. The class in general requires a lot of outside work, but I enjoyed the subject very much. Riggs gives good feedback on projects and is always willing to help and assist with things if needed.
