I dont see how anyone could give him a bad rating. Honestly, they probably didn't come to class and were upset with their grades. ITS MATH! you must come to class to understand the information given to you. He is very clear, and very helpful.

Good straightforward teacher. If you show up to his class and do some of the homework then you'll get a good grade.

His tests are a little tough, it is definitely helpful to do the homework unless you are really good at this. But he is very helpful and goes out of his way to explain anything you need him to. I really liked him, wish I could take him for some higher level maths.

Best teacher I've ever had at Gainesville!!! Clearly explains everything and presents structured lessons that make complicated math problems much easier to understand. Would take him again in a heartbeat!!!

He gives extremely clear, step by step notes. He is always willing to spend time outside the classroom to tutor you if you need the extra help. He keeps the class light but focused on math. His attendance is not mandatory and does not get offended if you come in late or leave early. I definitely recommend him and am taking him again!!

A great teacher. He really understood the material, breaking it down so anyone can understand it. The tests are difficult. People need to know the material backwards and forwards. He is always there to help with any homework problems.

Professor Elrod is fantastic. I probably will never use Statistics in my career (this class is part of my core), but this is a math class I've actually enjoyed attending. Professor Elrod teaches clearly, is ALWAYS there for his students in person (class and office), or via email. He's also super funny, which makes class fun. He truly cares! :)

Great professor! Speaks clearly and breaks everything down simply. If you have previously taken a higher level math, this class should be a breeze (for me, AP Calc in hs). But because he simplifies everything so much, the material gets kind of boring. His attitude lightens the class, and he is pretty funny so that helps!

Super easy, but you do learn in this class. Explains everything very well, and is very flexible with helping you out.

Professor Elrod is great with working with his students. He is patient when explaining, and he is very knowledgable of his materials. He saved every lecture notes online. The book was necessary to do homework. Homework was not graded but it's good for practice. His voice is attractive, so it's easy to stay awake for his morning classes.

He is a great professor. There to help you if you need it and ready to cover the problems in class. Great speaking voice , so it is very easy to understand him when he is speaking to the class.

I am so bad at math and I did just fine in this class. He is an amazing teacher and very helpful. Wants to see his students succeed. I never used my textbook. Homework is not required. Provided study guides for the tests and quizzes. Replies promptly to emails. I would definitely take him again. If you have a chance take him!

Respectful, kind, knowledgable, clear expectations. Firm grading policy--don't expect him to bend the rules. If you show up to class, do the practice problems, and reach out when you need help, you should do just fine. A basic stats class; not too indepth.

Professor Elrod was great! I had to adjust to his speed at first, but he was a really great professor once I got used to him. He is a fair grader, and I feel I learned a lot. I would definitely take him again. He is also funny, and not bad to look at.

I found that his class was hard but easy at the same time. Let me explain, his class itself (him teaching) was very clear and easy to understand as far as the material. But, the test and quizzes were kinda hard. He had a way he wanted the answer written, if they are not written the right way then he takes point away which is what kills your grade.

Dr. Elrod, is probably one of the best MATH teachers I have had. He is very clear at explaining, always assigns homework but never grades but encourages you to do tit as practice. There are 4 Tests, 4 Quizzes and the Final. Ask questions as much as you want, he will always answer.

professor Elrod always stayed after to help me even if it took hours. Ive never had a teacher want me to succeed as much as he did. His tests were hard but math was extremely difficult for me anyway. Def would take again

He is by far the greatest math teacher I have ever had. He is very easy to understand and helps students when they are stuck. He makes jokes along the way which makes any class better. His tests aren't too bad. Just pay attention to what he says in class. I would take him again for sure.

Elrod is an AWESOME professor. He made everything really clear and he's always in a positive, good mood. His quizzes and tests aren't really hard as long as you study.

Mr. Elrod is the best math professor that I have ever had! He knew everyone by name in my class which made it much more personable. He is funny and LOVES sports. STUDY the material(do practice problems) and you will do great! Never feel intimidated to ask him a question; he will stay after class or have you come to his office for help. I love him!

You can tell he loves what he teaches, gives great examples, and will always help clarify any confusion. Attend class, re-do class problems and homework and you are guaranteed an A. He is your go-to guy for math. 10/10 would select him as my math professor again if I could.

He was a great professor and his point scale was easy to understand. He let you know what was going to be on the test (or what to expect) and he never put in trick questions. Do you homework and you are sure to pass the class.

I am not a fan of math or science so I was not looking forward to this class. I struggled with a lot of the material, but Mr. Elrod was more than willing to help me and explain it in a way I could understand. Somehow, I managed to pass the class with a B even though I had a D+ up until the final. Go to class to learn the material and you will pass.

I love him. I took him for math support, and he really cares about his students. The math tests are a little hard but if you go and pay attention you're solid. He is always open to answer any questions you might have. Usually lets you take tests another day if you missed class. He makes math easier for me

Dr. Elrod is probably the best math teacher on the campus. He explains everything so clearly and he genuinely cares if his students succeed! Doesn't require a text book in class (will need one for homework) , but does require a web assign code!

Professor Elrod is awesome. Honestly, his test are hard.. but if you study you'll be fine. He truly cares about his students. If you don't understand something just go basically live in his office before the test!

I took Mr. Elrod for a short session class and he has been nothing but fantastic! His tests and quizzes are very straight to the point. He makes sure to let you know what he expects. If you go to class and pay attention, you are golden.

I took Professor Elrod's algebra class in the summer during a short session. He gives 4 tests, 4 quizzes, and a final. I didn't need a text bc all of the resources he gives. He goes at a very reasonable pace and allows for any questions. He is very easy to understand. Do the worksheets and go to class for an A. He replaces lowest grade w/ final.

Literally the greatest teacher ever. He helps you so much and makes you comfortable asking questions. I've had him 2 years in a row and I do well every time. P.S this is for people who are not the strongest at math

I've always struggled with math and he breaks it down in a way that i understood! i actually would love to take it again if i could GREAT Teacher!! study and re work the class notes and hw and you'll get an A the first two test are hard ,but the third and fourth test are easy . If you have trouble don't hesitate to ask him or go by his office

Mr. Elrod was an excellent professor. He makes sure that he uses the whole time to teach on the subject and is fairly lenient on grading. If you want to pass his class, you MUST do his homework. His homework assignments are crucial for passing the tests and understanding the material. Overall, he's a great professor.

I had him for Learning Support fall 2018 so I had a two hour class. No homework was graded, it was only suggested. 4 quizzes and 4 tests, all open ended no multiple choice. Final was just like all exams. He was very easy to contact with office hours and SUPER great at explaining material if you were lost. Never did well in math, until his class!

Professor Elrod is one of the best and easiest math classes, I have taken. His office hours are great and you can walk in anytime and get help on any problem. If you are looking to taking pre-calculus to take him. The exams were just like the study guides. I had so much fun taking his class. If you are reading this professor, Thanks you!

I took Elrod for Pre-Calc, and I really enjoyed the class BUT if you've never taken pre-calc than I wouldn't take him because he expects that everyone has taken pre-calc. I took pre-calc and high school and this class was very easy. He moves very quick, but he will explain things you don't understand after class or during office hours.

The best professor UNG has. He is understanding, throughly explains things, and is very intelligent. I've always been awful at math but he is such a great professor that I actually understood it. Also, he is very kind. I wish all math teachers could follow after Mr. Elrod. I genuinely loved his class!

I've always been terrible at math, but Mr. Elrod was such a great teacher. His lectures are entertaining and a lot of sports examples which I loved. One of the best math teachers at UNG. Definitely recommend taking him.

Professor Elrod is great! His lectures are clear and he provides you with all the materials you will need to do well on his tests and quizzes. He is a reasonable grader. He also makes asking questions very comfortable and is always happy to answer any questions. He cares about his students. I had Elrod for two classes, and enjoyed both.

I took two of Professor Elrod's classes as a dual-enrollment student. His class was the PERFECT buffer between high-school and college math. He was always willing to answer my questions, and his explanations were *chef's kiss*. If I could take a class with him every semester of my college experience, I would!

I'm pleasantly surprised at how well brief calculus is going (2040, not 2400 but it doesn't give an option). Professor Elrod is clear and answers questions. He doesn't assign useless homework. Grades are based on 4 tests and quizzes. With 3 tests completed I have a high A, but do study easily 12+ hours a week on test weeks and 6-8 hours weekly.

Take him!! Take Professor Elrod for all and any math classes. Great teacher, loud clear voice, fair grading, kind and genuine. I can honestly say Professor Elrod does not want any of his students to fail. Gives as much partial credit as he can. I made a B, but thats because I struggle with math. I was aiming for a C and ended up doing better.

Took statistics online over second summer short session, super friendly, very passionate about what he teaches, responds to emails quickly, tries to do everything to help you understand the material, we used My Stat Lab & he posted homework on there, three tests, & weekly discussion posts on D2L, take him you won't find a better professor than him

Very kind and helpful professor. LOTS of homework, a quiz or two, and a handful of HEAVILY weighted exams. Seriously, study as much as you can and cram all the material possible onto your cheat sheets. You'll need it.

I had him for college algebra. He was very kind, he helped as much as possible and was always easily accessible and approachable. On the other hand, this class was hard. Really hard. I have never studied this much for a class in my life. Personally I struggled with his teaching style the first few months and it took me a while to adapt.

I loved this man, he had fun lectures that made it so easy to learn. I went back to take 1113 with him and he made it even simpler. He also has a really cute dog that he'll show people pictures of.

Nice professor. Pretty straight forward and he replaced your final grade with your worst test grade. only thing about him is that isn't grade is he does take points off on tests for little things that shouldn't really matter. Still a very fair professor, should have no problem passing even if it is his normal class like math1111 or math 1113

Professor Elrod is awesome! He is extremely helpful. There is alot of material, but he makes it as easy as possible. He offers multiple examples to better understand the material and is always available to help. He is very patient and kind. A++++.

He is a very nice professor and will help you in any way possible. He doesn't like seeing you fail, so he will try to help as much as possible. He grades very well on quizzes and tests and will go over any questions you have about it.

Professor is wonderful, class is hard. It's a lot of new material in a short amount of time and you will not pass if you do not do the homework. Homework is optional and not for a grade but there is not enough class time to fully learn so you do need to do the homework if you want to pass. Very few grades, for my class at least.

I would take Elrod again! He is one of my favorite math professors. The material can get hard at times but his lessons are so clear to understand. His tests and quizzes are easy and he gives good feedback.

A great Professor! There is a total of four exams and four quizzes but he will replace your lowest test grade with your final! He will send homework after every lecture and it is totally optional but the homework is like the exam which is super helpful if you want to pass the course.

Amazing lectures he's super straight forward with what he teaches and what you be will be tested on. Gives homework which is optional but it's good practice for his exams. A good balance of personal but also super caring for his students.

Mr. Elrod was a great professor in my opinion, as he conveyed the material well, would help anyone that was confused, and made the class fun. The only bad thing is how your grades are so reliant on tests, but he does give a chance to boost one test grade. The class itself was a little harder for me personally just because I didn't ask questions.

I was scared to take stat this semester, but Prof. Elrod has made the class enjoyable.He is informative in his lectures & breaks down everything into steps that make sense.He is very open to questions, & makes a point to get to know everyone.Your grade is based of 4 open note quizzes, 4 exams, and a final that replaces your lowest exam if it helps.

The only grades you receive are from tests and quizzes, which can make it hard to keep a good grade. His class is designed for people that are already math people that understand a lot of the math that we learn about, so if you're not a huge math person it might be a struggle. The tests weren't like the review problems he would give us.

One of my favorite professors I've had! He is so understanding and makes learning math fun! He genuinely wants to make great, compassionate future teachers.

I would recommend this professor 100%. As long as you attend class and take the time to review the material outside of class, you will be fine. If you need additional help, he is always eager to ensure that his students understand the material. He is clear with his teachings and doesn't try to overcomplicate anything.
