AWESOME TEACHER. Made intro to PSYC very interesting and fun. Class is made up of 4 unit tests with no comp. final. Also gives extra credit but have to attend class.
Very good teacher. If you understand what he talks about in class, test will be relatively easy. Attending his class will benefit you very much. His pronunciation is really articulate, which is good for international students.
Great Teacher! If you go to class and take notes this class is an easy A. If you are in class he gives lots of extra credit opportunity, but you have to be there to sign a sheet to be eligable for the extra credit. He really emphasizes the stuff you need to know for the test and makes the class interesting.
He's a really good professor that was able to make this stuff interesting. He does a really good job of explaining the material, and provides lots of examples. Completely fair!
Definitely take this professor if you can. You'll do best if you go to class, but that will be easy to do because he makes the information understandable and relatable. Witty guy.
Good lectures, interesting topics but they made me a little uncomfortable. Summer session is just too short for this, and many other classes at this university. Still an easy class though
He's a really good teacher, gave lots of easy examples and he gave plenty of opportunities for extra credit. He recommended to buying the book, but if you want to save 80 bucks, just go to his class everyday, he outlines the stuff very well. If you do all that, you will have an easy A.
Awesome professor! His lectures are interesting. He's witty. Goes out of his way to be helpful. Opportunities for extra credit. Pay attention to what he says and you will actually learn something. Get this professor if possible!
Awesome teacher! Outlines everything, basically gives you test information. Offers 6 random extra credit opportunities, so just go to class. Lectures are fun, entertaining, and interesting! Optional cumulative final. Grades based solely on 3 semester tests.
Get this professor if you can. His lectures are informative and interesting. Go to class and you will have opportunities for extra credit. He is fun and witty, too. Use of textbook is helpful but not mandatory since the material will be covered in class. Awesome professor!
Great teacher! Class is interesting and easy to get an A in. 4 tests with optional cummulative final. Lots of extra credit!!
Great teacher. Try to get him regardless of what time the class is scheduled. He's easy to follow, explains things well and makes class interesting. Pay attention to what he says and you will learn something. He's fun too. I loved this class!
Go to class and follow the major concepts sheet, it is basically the test. Easy A.
LOVED THIS CLASS. It is one class that I never want to miss because it is so interesting. The tests are super easy if you go to class because he explains things so well you will remember specific examples that apply to everything. The best professor I've had yet. Super funny. Always makes us laugh. Take him over anyone else!!
Amazing teacher!! Very interesting and easy to follow. Just go to class and its an easy A. If you have to take this class I definitely recommend taking him. Makes it fun and easy. One of the best teachers I have had!
He made me fall in love with psychology! One of the better teachers I've heard in psychology than others. He doesn't take attendance but attending his class is helpful and will get you extra credit points(lots of opportunities and easy). Tests aren't "easy" (situational questions)but go to class and study his notes and the book and you'll do fine.
J. Holm is awesome. I was dreading this class comming in but I almost ended up switching to a psych major afterwards. He explains things extremely well and he makes it fun. Attendence is not madatory but if you attend you will get bonus opportunities and it's also very helpful for the tests.
This class is legit. His lectures are always interesting, even for 1.5 hours. Book isn't needed. Print out his slides, go to class and take notes, then study that for the tests for a relatively easy A.
I took this class somewhat reluctantly and ended up loving it. J Holm made it so interesting and fun that I actually considered changing my major. Go to class, take good notes and sign up for extra credit. The exams are based on his lectures so pay attention and you won't have any trouble. Get this professor. He ROCKS!!
Favorite teacher I've ever had! He keeps things very interesting, go onto "psycportal" online and get the chapter outlines and take notes on those for class. He makes it VERY easy to learn if you do the work. Tells you EVERYTHING you need to know to do well. Doesn't try to trick you at all.
GET HIM!!! He is the best teacher by far! I've never had psychology and was kind of nervous. He really knows what he is talking about and all his lectures are very interesting! I've gotten A's on all my test and he gives extra credit! If your the kind of person where you'll do good in class if you like the teacher then you'll do great!
He didn't change my life or make me want to change my major but he was a really good professor. He knows his stuff and makes it really clear. He tells you exactly what will be on the test by giving you a Major Concepts sheet and gives over 30 bonus points throughout the semester. Tests were easy if you studied a little. Take him if you want an A
Doesn't require attendance. Lectures are interesting. I just took my book and highlighted; his lectures when right along with the book. Tests are all multiple-choice and pretty simple if you review the material the night before
this guy is funny, go to class for extra credit, i highly recommend this guy, i would take him again.
Easy class, just a lot of memorization for the tests. Extra credit opportunities if you attend class. Just answer all the questions on the major concept sheet to prepare for exams. Easy A overall.
I wish more professors were like him. He makes this class fun and informative. Listen to what he says and take notes during his lectures. I learned a lot because of the way he explains the major concepts. Opportunities for extra credit. If you're going to take this class, GET HIM. He's OUTSTANDING!
Dr. Holm is a funny guy.. and although his attendance isn't mandatory you should still GO.
Loved this class! Go to his lectures and take good notes. He's interesting and uses good examples to explain what you need to know for the exams. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. If you're taking this class, get him.
Attendance isn't required but go anyway. Dr. Holm really knows how to teach and he's got a great sense of humor. Opportunities for extra credit. Taking good notes will most likely get you an A in this class. I learned a LOT and LOVED having J. Holm as a professor. GET HIM.
Love this class. Holm manages to make the class entertaining while clearly explaining major concepts. Studying is necessary, but if you do you should end up with an A.
Amazing teacher. The class was so interesting. He tells lots of stories that help you remember the concepts. You end up not having to study that much if because you remember a lot of what he says. I would highly recommend taking him. i looked for classes he taught just to have him again next semester.
Good teacher! Don't go in thinking it will be an easy class though. To be fair, it's not hard, but you will need to study if you plan on getting an A. Tests can be difficult. Offers lots of extra credit. Take him, you'll probably enjoy his class and personality.
loves what he talks about, very interesting stories to make you remember. the tests aren't bad but sometimes wordy. would recommend him to anyone interested in the class. the 4 tests were btwn 40 and 60 questions. optional final and if you attend class there are bonus opportunities, must also do experimetrix which are easy i did most of mine online
Awesome teacher! If you show up to class and pay attention its easy to get a B. Makes class interesting and knows what he is talking about!
Class can be boring, but Holm tells lots of interesting personal stories that help explain the material. Tests are easy if you study the major concepts sheets and make notecards.
J. Holm knows his topic and explains it in a way that is both interesting and fun. Listen to what he's saying and take good notes. Provides many opportunities for extra credit. A very worthwhile experience. Recommend him.
He is a good instructor to take if you have an interest in Psychology. He backs up most lectures with stories and incidents from his own experience, especially in his abnormal class, which I took, which makes it easier to learn the material. Tests were pretty standard, and he gives extra credit opportunities if you attend class.
Jeremy Holm is THE best teacher I have ever had. His class is straightforward: study the text, come to class, you will do well. A great guy. Cares about his students. Has a sense of humor. Takes his class and subject matter seriously. There is no reason to not like this guy or not take him. Make time for him during your college experience.
Excellent professor! By far my favorite thus far at UofA. Explains material clearly, uses lots of examples, gives many extra credit opportunities, readily available for help if needed, and an all around class act guy. Definitely recommend taking him if you can!
This class was very interesting and not that hard. I'm sure it would be if you completely slacked, though. What you need to do: Go to class, take notes, and listen. Prof. Holm makes Psyc very interesting. He's great with relating to students. You don't have to worry about a haughty professor attitude with this guy. Great teacher!
I slacked off a lot this semester but if I have tried I would have gotten a better grade than a C. Professor Holm knows what he's talking about. He is the best psychology professor I ever had. I've had two others. He offers PLENTY of extra credit and I wish I did them all. It helped a lot. The tests aren't too hard.
I loved having Prof Holm last semester. I looked for another class he's teaching so I could sign up. He knows his stuff and explains it clearly and with a sense of humor. Opportunities for extra credit. You'll be glad if you take his class.
Holm is a really good teacher that makes his lectures really interesting. His tests are not hard at all if you study and go to class. I would recommend him to anyone who has to take psychology.
He is wonderful! This guy is the best teacher I've had in my three years at the UA. He is so interesting and when the test comes around you don't even have to study b/c his lecture was so interesting you just remember it! Take his class for sure.
Holm is staight forward with his lectures. He gives in depth study guides but they are extremely helpful on exams. Study the study guides and highlighted notes, and you're golden
Professor Holm really knows his stuff! It was my only 8 am class and eventhough it was early/a long walk to get there, I really didn't mind. When test time comes around you'll know EXACTLY what's on it and theyre not bad at all. ATTEND CLASS, it'll pay off!
He is one of the best teachers I have ever had, as long as you attend class and study for the tests, it is not hard to get an A.
Holm is an amazing instructor! He's got a good sense of humor, gets to know his classes, goes over exactly what you need for the test, and has tons of interesting (and sometimes incredibly sad/terrifying) stories from his past experiences in the field to help highlight the terms and concepts he's going over. If you don't get him, you're missing out
Awesome guy! He's the best teacher I have ever had. Tons of extra credit. It is an easy A.
He is a wonderful teacher!! If you go to class you will do well, but if you don't you won't. He gives great examples and you will understand it. I greatly suggest this class. Also very interesting.
He is awesome! His class is so easy and everything he says is fascinating!
Jeremy is one of the best professors I've ever had. Class is not mandatory, but I wanted to go because everything he says is so interesting. He's very entertaining and if you pay attention, his tests are super easy! A+ Jeremy!
One of my favorite professors at UARK; funny and communicates very well to his audience. Gives great examples in lecture and makes the concepts easy to understand and interesting even at 8am. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you don't attend, the exams will be much harder than necessary.
I loved taking General Psychology with Professor Holm. He goes over exactly what you need for exams and a lot of his stories are super interesting. His class is a big reason why I am interested in taking more psychology classes. Take him!!
Favorite teacher on campus! His classes aren't mandatory, but going is very beneficial. I honestly looked forward to going to this class. The lectures are interesting, and he tells personal experience stories that are cool to hear. Don't get the book, it isn't necessary. Tests are straight off of his major concept sheets. Easy A.
Great instructor. The way he structures his class makes it easy to learn the material. Gives outlines of his lectures and sometimes detailed notes for his class. His lectures are interesting with personal stories so it's easy to pay attention and remember the information based on examples he gives. Funny, interesting guy who knows his stuff.
this is not a easy class unless you love to study a lot of information, the best part of class are his stories which do happen to appear a lot on the exams. Exams are very hard because they do not come from the notes instead they are critical thinking tests based on examples he makes up. he does give random extra credit that really help though
Grading is 4 evenly spaced multiple choice tests. Every couple weeks there is a extra credit quiz or something like that, which cumulatively makes a large impact. This class requires you to participate in 6 hours of research, which is usually show up and complete surveys. Class is rarely boring, and much of the material for tests come from class.
Awesome professor. He used to work in a prison so he has some really interesting stories. I never studied and got an A in the class. Go to class and listen and maybe read over the notes before the tests and you'll be fine. He gives bonus and that helps a lot
TAKE HIM RIGHT NOW. Professor Holm is so funny, knowledgable about psychology, and caring towards his students. He is straightforward, but super interesting. He makes Psychology bare able. His tests are not tricky, but you must study to get your grade.
Holm was great. Took him for abnormal in the summer. I never got bored with his lectures and he has some great stories from experience under his belt. Willing to meet with you and genuinely interesting.
He is such a great teacher. I skipped way too many classes, but if I wouldn't have I would have easily had an A. He is the most helpful teacher I have ever had. He truly wants his students to learn alot and do well.
He is awesome! He's great at explaining things, lectures are interesting, and tests are easy. He's super clear about what to expect. Best professor I have had in a long time.
I loved professor Holm. He provides reviews that are very clear about what is on the test and goes over everything really well in lecture. He always has interesting stories and makes all the information very easy to understand. You do need to study for the tests to get a good grade.
He is one of the professors you want to go grab a beer with. His experience, stories, and smooth talking make lectures feel like a good TV show. I have never had a class where I don't feel the need to take notes when the professor is lecturing until now. He is by far the best professor I have ever had.
Jeremy is by far my favorite teacher on this campus. His class isn't mandatory, but you will want to attend! I always look forward to going because his lectures are incredibly interesting. He has great stories, gets concepts across well, and the tests aren't hard at all. I wouldn't buy the book, you don't need it. I also took him for gen psyc.
The best professor I have had so far at the U of A. The lectures are not mandatory to go to but I never missed one because he is so interesting to listen to and keeps the students involved. Very funny. If you show up, take notes, and fill out the major concepts sheet before the test you'll get an A. Didn't open my book at all, got an A.
Holm is great! Class isn't mandatory but it definitely helps and it is totally worth it. He makes lectures really interesting and he's really easy to follow. Fill out the Major Concept Sheets a few days before the tests and you should be good. Go to class for the extra credit!!! He usually won't tell you when his EC quizzes are.
Holm is definitely one of the best teachers i've ever had. I took psych in high school and hated it and it has turned out to be one of my favorite classes because of him. Classes aren't required but there a pop quizzes that are for bonus points! Honestly, he's so interesting you may look forward to going anyways!
My favorite professor on campus, his lectures are super interesting, and he explains the material well.
Favorite teacher! Gives lots of extra credit, lectures are sooo interesting, tests are just like the review materials and teaches you how to be a better student when studying!! Everyone should take him if you can!
Usually don't write reviews but this guy was to awesome not too. Needed an elective to graduate and this is the best teacher I've had in 4 years as a Senior at the University. His lectures are interesting and very informational. He gives it to you straight and doesn't hold back. The test are easy if you take the time to study. Also gives Extra Cred
I've never taken a psychology course so I took a chance on this one. I couldn't be happier I did. He is very intelligent in his field and makes class interesting by being funny and relating to real world topics. He cares about his students grades and genuinely enjoys what he does.
He makes lectures enjoyable. He's really good at making difficult material easily understandable with great examples and explanations. By far one of my favorite professors at the University. If you wanthave to take psych, you should take his lecture!
TONS of extra credit, fair grader, and amazing lectures. If you take psychology, take this guy. Don't buy the textbook though, you won't need it.
OH. MY. GOSH. Prof Holm was PHENOMENAL! His stories and the way he ties class material into real world situations is flawless. He is the reason I am now a psychology major! Attendance isn't mandatory in this class and it made me really sad to see that about two thirds of the class never came. If you take this course, SHOW UP! Its SO worth you time.
I'm an A-student. Holm gives a lot of material and expects you to know it. You have to comprehend everything he goes over and be able to apply it on the exams. He's clear about what will and will not be on the test. It's an "EASY A" FOR THOSE WHO HAVE THE TIME TO STUDY quite a bit. He's arrogant and will speak to you like you're a freshman. No book
Legendary lectures, I can hardly remember a dull day in his class. All the material you need to pass is handed to you on a silver platter, you just have to pay attention and put in some effort. Powerpoints, detailed notes and outlines are all given.
I took his class the first time around and never went to class. It killed my grades on his exams. You need to go to class but the lectures are great and very helpful. I had to retake his class to get a better grade and I learned to attend class and take notes on your computer. His exams are very wordy and specific so find a good way to study.
Holm is awesome! His lectures are really interesting and he posts all of the notes online. He also gives a lot of extra credit. If you study before each test, the class should be an easy A.
He's so freaking smart and every single thing that comes out of his mouth is interesting. You could be half listening to his lecture and whatever he says will still stick with you. He provides everything, all you have to do is study.
This professor is awesome. He has a lot of experience in psychology and tells great stories and has a good sense of humor. He is clear about what will be on the test and has very interesting lectures.
Best teacher I've ever had. When speaking, his knowledge and experience is apparent, and he has an amazing ability to connect with students. His lectures have inspired me, and I have never learned more from a teacher in my life. Go to class, attendance is optional but it will be worth your time.
Best professor I ever had. The man knows the subject very well and knows how to get the students to pay attention in class. He shared many personal stories that were very interesting. If you pay attention in class, the tests are a walk in the park.
Mr. Holm's lectures are the best. He relates stories from working in the field to the material and it helps alot. He gives out detailed study guides but they contain alot of info. You will have to study alot to get an A but overall the class is great
Holm is the greatest professor I've ever had. He knows what he's talking about and explains things very well. He relates everything from class to some example or story, so it's clearly understood. He makes sure everyone knows exactly what is going to be on the exams and he often uses the same examples from class. Easy A and very interesting.
Holm is a really great professor. He really knows his stuff and has a lot of experience. He provides you with all of the information (slides, detailed notes, handouts) so all you have to do is show up and study. He gives extra credit quizzes and even gives an extra credit optional final after the real final for an extra grade booster. Take him.
Professor Holm is an awesome guy and lecturer, do not see eye to eye on some of his social issues, but I did not let that stand in the way. Don't take these reviews for granted, yes he is interesting and if you go to class he will help you out so much. That being said, do not let the first test surprise you.
This class is super easy as long as you show up. The tests are multiple choice and Dr. Holm makes the material super easy to understand. He is also really funny and gives great examples.
One of the best teachers I've had so far at the U of A. Professor Holm is extremely intelligent and a brilliant teacher. If you try in his class, you will succeed. Take notes on the major concepts sheet(s) because that is the test. He is fair, clear, funny, and his lectures are SO interesting. You can miss class but don't. Take him!! He is awesome.
An amazing professor! Everything is clear. He gives notes that help explain things better than the textbook. I didn't even buy the textbook and I passed with an A. Attendance is not mandatory, but some of his test questions come from lectures.. Do the research hours in his class or you wont pass. It's really easy and extra credit is given.
Holm is awesome. He knows what he's talking about, has awesome stories to tell, and he's hilarious! He may offend you if you don't agree with his views, but for the most part, he's only speaking the truth. Plus he gives a lot of extra credit!
Psychology is so interesting to me, so I truly enjoyed this class. Holm keeps it very interesting. Lectures are long and heavy, but there was so much to learn that it was entertaining. The tests are not easy, definitely have to put the time in to study in order to make an A, but its doable. Random extra credit quizzes worth 6 points, go to class.
Dr. Holm was fantastic. I took Abnormal with him this semester and thoroughly enjoyed it. He has a lot of experience in the field and was able to supplement the lecture material with his own anecdotes. He is really engaging and makes the material interesting enough that review time is significantly reduced. He is great about answering any questions
He is a phenomenal teacher. He will tell you exactly what you have to do to get an A, and It isn't hard but does require you to actually work for it. If you go to class, his lectures are very entertaining and he will tell you straight up what is on the test. He is experienced in psychology and tells funny stories. I highly recommend this class
such an interesting class and incredible professor!! he is so interested in what he teaches. even though attendance is mandatory, i never missed a class because half of the information comes from his lectures. not too hard, but you defiantly have to put in a ton of effort if you want an A.
Go to class pay attention to the example he gives in class. He gives extra credits do not miss. It can help you a lot. Also, he gives an optional test that helps students. My advice is go to class write examples and study his details note. I will take Jeremy again if I can best psychology professor.
Dr. Holm's class was definitely my favorite this semester, even though I had a little bit of a harder time in the class than I would have liked. Really interesting class, always has funny stories, and really tells it like it is- doesn't beat around the bush about anything.
Jeremy Holm has been the best professor I've had thus far. GO TO CLASS! Even though it's not mandatory GO, he will hint around and tell you what's on the test. I missed 3 classes and was so sad because his lectures are just that awesome! If the class is full try to get an override; it'll be totally worth it!
Wonderful professor, expect to study hard for his tests and to work for grade desired.
He may seem like a tough professor on the first day of class, but you soon learn how knowledgeable and passionate he is about this subject. His class had the best lectures of any in my schooling career, always interesting and applicable to real life. His tests are not too hard if you prepare properly. I would take another class with him if I could.
I loved this class and Dr. Holm so much. I never missed a class. Study properly and you'll do fine.
One of the best professors I've had yet! He may make it seem like it's an intimidating class, but everything he tells you is what you do in order to make an A or B. His lectures are great and apply to your life which make it so interesting! Go to class because he tells you what will be on the tests and study a week in advance and you'll be fine!
I would absolutely take another one of Holms classes! He makes lecture very interesting and is willing to help whenever he can, you just have to make an effort. There are random extra credit quizzes, so it's good to be in class. The book only supplies about 15% of the questions on the tests so you don't really need the textbook.
Professor Holm is a great psychology teacher. I loved taking this class and hearing his lectures, I never missed a day the entire semester because his lectures were interesting. Going to class really helps prepare you for the tests. He has detailed notes that he provides which helps, but in class he tells you what's going to be on the test.
Jeremy Holm is one of my favorite professors. I was never interested in psychology until I had him as a professor. I barely had to study for the tests since his lectures were so entertaining. He offers a lot of extra credit and the tests are very fair.
Holm's is a really enjoyable lecturer, and gives out a ton of extra credit with pop quizzes. I personally never used the textbook, but some may need it. Show up to class because Holm's points out test questions, and gives out extra credit quizzes. The only grades come from tests, but overall the class isn't too difficult.
Dr. Holm gives amazing lectures. He goes over everything very clearly and has a clear understanding of everything he teaches because he worked in psychology for many years. There are four tests and several extra credit quizzes. There is no homework. He also puts all the notes and powerpoints on blackboard, they are extremely helpful!
Literally my favorite professor during my entire college career. Very informative and I learned a lot form this class, would take again if I could.
Very tough professor and hardest class I have taken yet. You have to keep up with the difficult content. This is not a memorization class- you have to understand the content and be able to apply it to examples on the exams. Your grade is pretty much only tests and a couple of pop quizzes. Would not recommend this professor.
The course is really easy because he gives you all of his detailed notes, there are only four tests but ever quiz is a bonus towards your grade. He has really bad time management and hardly ever finished lecturing a chapter because he spent most of the time doing "announcements." But is really smart and knows what he is talking about. Just study.
I loved his class. Don't buy the book. He puts lecture notes and major concepts for tests online, so if you miss you'll be fine, but go to lecture bc he gives pop extra credit quizzes. I had no problem with the tests because I took AP classes and the questions were similar. Some people struggled though. Study and you'll be fine... not a blowoff.
Holm is by far my favorite professor. He makes lectures very interesting, even though attendance isn't mandatory I always came to class. There is no outside work so the majority of your grade is centered on tests, but if you pay attention in class and study you will do well. He provides study concepts and his personal detailed lecture notes.
One of the best professors I've had. He gives LOTS of extra credit and his tests are very straight-forward. He's funny and has very interesting lectures. Don't skip because he gives test answers often. Be able to define all the terms on the major concept sheet and you'll be set for the test. He has a tough front, but, is a very caring guy!
Jeremy really knows what he's talking about. We had a book for the class but I never opened it and passed with an A. Show up to lecture and take notes and you'll pass. He has some crazy stories. Make sure to do the participation studies before the end of the semester. One of the best classes I've taken at the University.
Professor Holm can seem kind of intimidating in the beginning because he seems like a really tough teacher but I ended up loving his class. He has great stories to tell and really makes the learning easy as long as you go to class and take notes. By far my favorite professor.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!!! Lectures were very interesting and always kept my attention. You don't have to go to class but you should if you want to do well. Really sarcastic and funny!! Did not use my textbook one time. Only grades are the tests so you just have to study for them.
Holm is super chill. Does not care if you come to class. His lectures are pretty interesting and he gives you all of the detailed notes and a study guide. exams are multiple choice and super easy if you just study the notes he gives. you don't even need the book. does give in class pop quizzes occasionally but they are only for extra credit.
Loved Prof. Holm!! The lectures are really interesting... He provides enough extra credit. Got an A and all i did was attend class everyday and study for about for 2 hours the the two nights before the tests.
Go to class, take notes according to the major concept sheets provided they are extremely helpful for the exams. Attendance isn't required, but this class is lecture heavy. Your grade is your four exam grades. Professor Holm is a great teacher, pay attention in class, understand the material and you'll be fine.
He is a very good professor. His lectures are engaging. He has random quizzes that only help your grade and he says when they are. Test are very easy if you go over the major concept sheet and read the detailed lecture notes. He doesn't try to trick you on his test. Beware there is a research requirement but easy to do.
Hes fair with obvious expectations and a great lecturer.
His lectures are very interesting! Sets clear expectations and reminds us every class so it's hard to be confused. Attendance is not required and his tests are fairly easy. As long as you study the materials he provides, you will be in good shape. He's a great person too!
Holm is an amazing professor! He makes each lecture super interesting and going to class really helps for tests. He also offers lots of extra credit quizzes in class. He uploads his notes to blackboard which is also very helpful. Make sure to study well for tests and listen to answers he gives in class. You will not regret taking his class!
If you can avoid taking Dr. Holm then do. He has more rules than I can count concerning exams, especially for CEA students. Most non-compassionate teacher at the U of A. Your grade is based off of 4 exams & a few pop quizzes. He spends half the class talking about announcements. Make a simple mistake scheduling alternative exam? Then too bad.
He is a great professor who knows what he is talking about. His lectures are very interesting and while going to class is not mandatory it will definitely help your grade.
You are graded on only 4 tests and an optional final. Really lecture heavy put he posts powerpoints and all of his notes online. Drones on. Not my favorite class but bearable.
I always looked forward to Professor Holm's lectures! He has a strict set of rules, but as long as you follow them you're good. Study for the test and show up to class. He is very understanding and kind just go to his office hours. I loved this class!
Holm is an amazing teacher. He's a really interesting lecturer and tells crazy stories. He always answers you outside of class and helps in anyway he can. He makes sure you know you're welcome to ask questions, even in a class of 400 people. 10/10, 100% recommended.
Professor Holm's lectures are clear and easy to understand the material and he puts powerpoints & notes online. Attendance isn't mandatory. He is super easy to get in contact with and answers emails within a couple hours. 3 exams and a non-cumulative final and a research requirement. The exams can be hard if you don't study.
By far one of my favorite professors I've had at Arkansas. Holms makes lectures so interesting because he is always telling stories. He has a crazy background which helps him have examples for everything imaginable. Really not much work to get an A in this class.
Very dynamic lecturer who gives you ALL the resources you need to study for his tests. Not an easy class, but very doable.
Very difficult and his test are very hard! Stress upon, upon stress with studying! In the middle of the semester and freaking out about my grade
He is by far the most difficult class Ive had in all my college hours. He is so full of himself his lectures got behind because he would never get to the point. Anyone who can pass his class is someone not to be messed with.
He lectures the whole class over material that will not be on the test, and he wastes 30 min of class each day telling us wither how bad we all did on the test, or hoe hard the test is going to be. there are 4 exams, an optional final, and extra credit quizzes every so often. my friends in psych with a different prof are having an easier time
Holm is amazing. All his notes are posted and if you attend lecture you will get enough bonus to raise your grade a whole letter. Tests are all application and LONG so know your sh!t, but overall never too difficult. He makes psych so interesting and does great at explaining the hard stuff. Attend class and read ahead and you will have an A.
Holm was the most interesting lecturer I had in college. Yes there are only a few grades so you need to do well on each. Yes you will have to study. Yes he lectures off of slides. BUT he has detailed notes (like word for word on exam notes)on Bb along with the slides, practice exams and study guides. Quizzes extra credit. Bb is your best pal!
He is a great teacher, really cares about his student
seriously such a good class. if you are required to take general psych, take Holm's class! he is so invested in the subject which makes lecture fun and interesting, plus he holds review sessions before each exam. attendance isn't mandatory but some topics on exam will only be covered in class.
as long as you study and attend classes, you will pass! he gives bonus quizzes ever so often and has review sessions for those who need extra help!
Dr. Holm is probably one of the best professors I've had at the U of A so far (I transferred last Spring). He has the best lectures and really makes you think hard about important and relevant topics. If you read, study all the notes, and complete the research requirements ahead of time, there's no reason you shouldn't get an A or B in class.
Holm is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. It's obvious that he wants everyone to do well and provides you with the materials to do so. It's important to come to class because he will directly tell you what you need to know for the upcoming test. He also gives extra credit quizzes in between each unit which helps as well!
I really enjoyed Dr. Holm's lectures they were very interesting, however his test were very difficult. They covered a lot of material and the questions we're very difficult. He does give you many study guides and hand outs though to try and prepare you.
Professor Holm is great at what he does, although I thought the course was kind of difficult. I took notes on all of the material before attending lecture and was very prepared for exams and I still made a B on each one. He does a great job of lecturing, but the exams are pretty hard. He does give extra credit quizzes which is a plus.
One of my favorite professors to date. Tough class but he provides you with every resource possible to be successful in his class. Attend class and you will pass. Great lectures that keep you attentive during class.
Most interesting class I have been in. He lectures the whole time but gives exam questions each class. He also posts ALL materials on blackboard which is word for word on exams. before each test he gives at least 7 extra credit points that really help. If you go to class, this is an EASY A. There are also review sessions.
Pretty much the only grades in the class are from your tests and the extra credit quizzes. You don't know when the quizzes are so make sure to come to class. Other than that, he doesn't take attendance. You should definitely come to class though because his lectures are super interesting and you'll definitely do better in the class!
Holm has the best lectures ever! I had him for Abnormal Psychology and I loved it. If I could take him for every psychology class offered I would in a heart beat. I learned so much from him. He is able to connect stuff from class to stories about his past experience in the field of psychology. You will not regret taking him for any class.
I LOVED THIS CLASS. Dr Holm has some of the most interesting lectures I have ever heard. The material is not easy though so study up! FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS AND LOOK AT EVERYTHING HE GIVES YOU FOR THE TEST. He literally gives you everything on blackboard that you need to pass. STUDY HIS DETAILED NOTES. Religiously.
Professor Holm is great. He can come off as a little intimidating at first but his class isn't hard as long as you put in the effort to study the material. He gives you amazing study guides and tells you what to expect on the tests. The only grades in the class are tests but he gives so much opportunity for extra credit! Easy A in my opinion!
Professor Holm is my absolute favorite professor at UARK. I am in his class currently and have a 97, which shows a lot about how well he teaches. He really cares about his field, and is super knowledgable! You have to come to class to understand concepts, but overall he's a great teacher and I definitely recommend taking his class!
I LOVE JEREMY HOLM! He takes some getting used to, but once you understand the way he lectures, you'll love the class. He makes lecture super interesting, and he is the most knowledgable person I have ever met. I learned so much from him, and he gives you everything you need to succeed in his class. I would 10/10 recommend taking Jeremy Holm.
Jeremy Holm is amazing! He explains everything thoroughly. Don't skip class because almost all of the information for the tests are talked about during lectures. He gives a lot of extra credit that can help your grade. He makes all of the topics we talk about very interesting and entertaining.
Jeremy Holm IS amazing! His lectures sound like he's yelling at you BUT it's only because he's passionate about his work and he really knows what he's talking about. You really need to go to class (even though he doesn't take attendance) to get your notes in order (I took a LOT). He includes his detailed notes so you have more than enough material
Professor Holms is probably the most knowledgeable professor I've had at the U of A and easy to understand. There are only 4 tests, but he offers extra credit quizzes in class that helps your grade A LOT so try and attend the class as much as possible. It is a lot of information but as long as you study, you shouldn't have any problems.
Attendance isnt mandatory, but a lot of the information on tests is only found from attending lectures and he gives a several quizzes during class for extra credit. The book isnt mandatory, but it helped me a lot. His lectures are very interesting! He seems a bit intimidating at first, but once you talk to him one on one he is very nice.
Professor Holm is hands down my favorite prof. I have had at the UofA. He provides extra detailed notes and major concept sheets for every tests. Attendance is not requires but he does give random EC quizzes which boost grade tremendously. Tests are exactly what is on the Major Concept sheets. 100% recommend Holm's general Psychology class.
This class isn't mandatory but I highly suggest you attend! The tests are lecture heavy and the class grade is based on the tests. He is always available outside of class too! He tells interesting examples that are usually about his own life, which from what he's told us, completely wild. If you need a social science i reccomend him highly!
One of my favorite professors on campus. Lecture is not mandatory but it is extremely helpful for the class.
This class is very easy if you actually go to class. He will tell you what to look for in the textbook so that you don't have to read every chapter. If you take notes on his lectures and actually study for his tests, then you can easily get an A and you will actually learn a lot of valuable information.
Holm's lectures are the most entertaining lectures I have ever attended. He makes lots of jokes & gives examples to make the content easier to remember. He also gives one pop quiz per test for extra credit & never assigns any homework except for the readings. The only downside is he struggles to pace himself with providing all the needed info.
Professor Holm is my favorite professor at the university so far. He makes lectures very interesting with his personal stories and his experience in the field. He's a very effective professor and gives you many materials to aid you with studying as well as opportunities for extra credit. If you have the chance take a class with professor Holm.
Jeremy Holm is truly passionate about teaching. He makes lectures interesting and fun, so you should definitely attend. Psychology classes fill really fast and I was so lost on what to take, so he basically gave me a mini advising session despite how busy he was. I can tell he actually cares about the success of the students in his class.
He is very straight forward with the expectations for the class and the material that you need to know. Class isn't mandatory, but his lectures are interesting so I'd recommend going.
Great dude and funny but there's so much information you need to know for the exam's. Study weeks before the test's.
While I believe Holm's class is easy, it is evident he does not care about his students. His anecdotal teaching is interesting, but the manner in which he covers the actual material is boring. He struggles to cover much material or in-depth. I suggest taking him if you want an easy class and do not care to learn psychology for future purposes.
Super interesting class. attendance isn't mandatory but he gives random extra credit quizzes that can only help your grade. expect to study hard for the tests, but if you study what's on the major concepts sheets and go to the review sessions you'll do fine. Would definitely recommend if you're interested in psychology.
Very interesting class, great for students who genuinely want to learn about psychology. Attendance isn't mandatory, but lecture notes are very helpful when studying and extra credit is occasionally offered in class. Study guides are exactly like the tests. Very straightforward about the expectations!
I would advise attending lectures, and not only are they entertaining, but he goes into thorough detail about the information; including the detailed notes he puts on blackboard. I've never taken psychology before and decided to change my major to it based on this class and his advice, I would consider getting him as a Prof. I enjoyed every second.
Professor Holm can seem very intimidating at first, but he is an amazing professor! Attendance is not mandatory, however, there are random extra credit quizzes that can help your grade significantly. Your only grades in the class are tests (besides the EC quizzes), but if you study the notes he gives you, you'll do fine.
He actually cares about his students and what he lectures on. My favorite professor ive had.
Comes off pretty aggressive. Not easy to approach. Has a very specific way of doing things. People tend to either love him or hate him. He will tell you exactly what you need to do for tests, which is great. He is not really a warm or friendly person which makes people hesitant to receive one on one help from him. Not a difficult class though
Professor Holm makes you work for the grade you want. This course is very lecture and test heavy but he does have extra credit quizzes that can only help you and they boosted my grade a lot. I loved professor Holm and I would absolutely take his course again. Be prepared to study hard. The major concepts sheets and detailed lecture notes saved me.
Uses the excuse of "college level course" to compensate for his teaching incompetency. Will cover maybe 5-6 things in a 1.25 hour lecture but you can take notes on the handouts he posts on blackboard and cover the same material in 15 minutes. Will change the syllabus and course requirements. Only reason to show up is for bonus quizzes.
You will fail
Professor Holm really tries to scare you into thinking his class is hard, but it's actually SO easy. There's no homework and the tests are almost word for word off the study guide. His lectures are actually interesting and I thought he was funny, even though others thought he was boring. Easy class, easy professor. Don't let him scare you off.
Awful! He talks about sex & kissing all the time. He spent the first two weeks of class going over the syllabus. He spends 1 hour 15 minutes going over one slide. Now on online class, he NEVER responds to email & doesn't post video lectures. Worst class and professor ever. He also has ridiculous expectations. The world doesn't revolve around him.
Worst professor ever. Lectures are the most boring thing I've ever had to sit through, and the tests are VERY HARD! DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Holm is the best professor I've ever had and I've never been more interested in a class. Some say that his lectures are boring but THEY ARENT. He uses personal stories to convey some of his points and are really helpful. He covers things that aren't found in the textbook in class so go. There are a few extra credit pop quizzes in class too.
This is a pretty good class to take especially if youre just needing an interesting elective. His lectures are entertaining and hes very clear about the syllabus and what you need to do to pass his class. He gives extra credit opportunities before every test. The tests and the research requirement are the only things you have to do. No homework.
this class is for people wanting to study psychology. this is not a good class to take if you are just trying to get a credit. he is one of the hardest teachers I have ever had. tests questions are super tricky. and tests are the only things you are graded by. his extra credit opportunities saved me.
I thought this class was super easy. Professor Holm gives you everything you need to prepare for the tests which are the only grades in the class besides 4 extra credit quizzes. Don't procrastinate on the required research studies and study for the tests and you should get a good grade.
Cannot say enough good things about Professor Holm. Amazing, interesting lectures. Studying for his exams are not your usual studying, you need to understand the content. Helpful advice - get the research requirement done early so you have it out of the way - easiest grade the whole semester. Best class I've ever taken.
i took jeremy holm twice and enjoyed it both tomes. you MUST show up to lecture or else you wont pass. i didnt really use the book since he gives us pretty much all the material we need. this man has so many crazy stories. 10/10
Even if you don't go the class isn't too bad. Just attend the study sessions for the tests and they'll go through and literally tell you what will and won't be on the tests. He requires participation in research where you show up and they do a study on you and your answers. If you don't participate in research he will not give you a grade for class
Professor Holm was always interesting to listen during lectures which is hard to come by in other classes. Although I don't think everything that he stated as fact was fact, he is still a knowledgeable man who I respect. Didn't mind studying because most of it was interesting info.
At first I was kind of worried about this class, but then I realized it was probably one of my easiest classes this semester. He gives you all the resources you need to pass, not just lectures and the textbook, but also detailed notes over each chapter and a clear study guide that prepares you for the exam very well.
The best lecturer I have ever had at U of A. He is a really interesting guy. Keeps you captivated the entire lecture. Study and you will pass. Also, do yourself a favor and get all of your research credits done within the first 8 weeks of his class.
Holm has been my favorite professor this semester, and I would definitely take any classes he teaches just to have him again. He is really passionate and knowledgeable, and really good at explaining everything thoroughly. Although attendance isn't mandatory, if you don't go to class you won't get the grade you want. You have to study for exams.
Be prepared to read. This class is very test heavy, but the tests are pretty straight forward if you use the textbook. Overall he's a good professor and the lectures are pretty interesting.
Even if you aren't a Psych major, I would suggest everyone take a course with Professor Holm. He has incredible insights on life and likes to share crazy stories about his time in the field.
Dr. Holm was an awesome professor. He has some of the craziest stories! This class is easy to stay engaged in and is actually interesting. The first week is a little boring, but I promise it gets better. Your grade is determined by 4 exams and extra credit. There is not reason to not get an A in here. All the notes needed to ace the exam are given.
Super interesting lectures and easy testing during the pandemic because he gives you notes to use during the test. Theres no reason to not get an A in his class
Professor Holm is a good professor. I took his General Psychology class as a freshman and it was my most challenging class but it got me assimilated to taking college exams. The lowest grade I ever made on a test was a 90. My advice would be to ALWAYS take the extra credit and USE THE MAJOR CONCEPT SHEETS.
(taken during COVID so it was all online) Very narcissistic haha, but teaches the content well. Your only grades are tests, but there's a lot of extra credit.
I love Jeremy. He is very passionate about Psychology and I looked forward to his class. Online, he lets you use notes for tests, but not in person. Extra-credit quizzes throughout the semester but he announces them randomly in class. Use the notes he gives you. Super great prof. would take again.
After the first extra credit quiz this man gave a full length lecture about a few kids that cheated on a non- lock down browser open note open book quiz. He stated that he could see through the cameras though no camera access was given and threatened everyone in the class for the full 50 minutes.
This is the worst class I've ever taken. Holm was completely disinterested/disengaged from his students, he would punish 700 students for the actions of 4% of the class, his lectures are ramble-y and cover very little material, and Holm comes off as impersonal and difficult to communicate with. He singlehandedly convinced me not to minor in psych.
Professor Holm accused our entire class of cheating during the first few weeks of school on an extra credit quiz. We then had to take multiple tests on policy and procedure and he threatened what might happen to us if he found us cheating multiple times. Basically punished the entire class for something a few students did. Would not recommend him.
Don't allow the "bad ratings" to assume how great of a prof Holm is. He truly cares about his students and allows all of us to succeed. He is very knowledgeable and truly one of the best professors I've had.
Extra credit makes it almost impossible to fail this class. He has a lot of interesting stories but only covers 1-3 slides in our hour long class. Repeats things about academic integrity every single class but tests are open-note, open-book. Very monotone voice and is rude when students ask him questions.
This semester had a zoom option, so if you didn't want to walk to class just watching was an option. Makes detailed notes for students benefit, all test questions are from the major concept sheets that he also creates. Has some funny stories and is easy to keep up with if you pay attention. Lots of extra credit. Research credit is easy, mandatory.
If youre looking for a good advisor within the psych program, youre come to the wrong guy. To preface this, I am a great student and will be graduating soon, so Ive had my fair share of time with Holm. He makes an active effort to belittle you and downplay your achievements. He definitely will not remember your name.
This class was great. Attending lectures was enjoyable as Dr. Holm portrayed a very clear expertise in psychology. Take advantage of extra credit and take notes in class and you will succeed!
Just rude and does not care about students. unnessicarly rude in emails not caring about students and blame everyone but himself
I absolutely loved Jeremy Holm!! Hes the best. I HIGHLY recommend him. He provides so much extra credit. Holm makes it basically impossible to not pass. Tests are so easy. Completely the research requirement was a breeze. Absolutely easy.
His lectures are boring and he doesnt really teach the material. However, tests were easy. Your entire grade is based on your 4 exams of the semester plus what were 7 extra credit opportunities so its an easy A-B grade class. Dont procrastinate the research requirements as it will quickly catch up to you and leave you with an incomplete if not.
No homework between exams, isn't personally how I learn. Seems nice but has a lot on his plate
Holm is very nice and a good professor, but the way he teaches does not work for students who learn from homework/coursework. Graded by a few tests alone. Can be extremely monotone, but the material is interesting. Attendance is not mandatory, and he records his lectures. Be sure to complete the research requirement early; the deadline comes fast.
Kind of a weirdo, but he made class interesting for sure.
Very easy class everything can be done online and the tests are online as well. The only semi hard thing is the research requirement for the class but other than that it is easy!
Didn't go to class once after the first day. Zooms are boring, I didn't watch any of them. Tests aren't proctored. There are a few extra credit quizzes that you can see by checking blackboard anytime within 24 hours after each class. The class requires a 7 hour research credit thing that wasn't hard, 3 credit hours are in person studies on campus.
Dr. Holm is great, I am taking him next semester as well, as I enjoyed him greatly as a prof. His class is interesting and has lots of lectures, but if you like psychology, you will be ok. They are interesting and not too hard to understand. He is clearly passionate about his work and students.
Overall did well with the content he was supposed to teach, however his teaching and overall conversation was just very bitter. He brings a lot of personal problems and trauma that he brings in to class and how he interacts with students. A lot of his comments are rude when they don't need to be. He would rather not talk to you.
Just do the work and it's easy!
Professor Holm is an excellent instructor. Very easy to engage and pay attention to in lectures. Exams are very manageable and there is plenty of opportunity for extra points.
Holm was one of my favorite teachers I've ever had, he went into detail about each concept and was able to relate it to real-world scenarios which is how I was able to connect a lot of examples in the exams. There is no homework in class and has 7 extra credit opportunities, and the exams are open notes. It is very easy to get an A in this class
LOVE JEREMY!!! he is one of my favorite teachers I have ever had. He is extremely clear in instruction and he is super entertaining in lectures. would definitely take again. He is awesome at explaining psychology and it is obvious he is full of knowledge and knows how to teach it!
Professor Holm gives lectures that are actually interesting to listen to. Every story he tells in class is exactly how he phrases exam questions. All exams are open note and all quizzes are extra credit. No homework. He provides detailed notes as well. You would have to work hard to not do well in this class.
Amazing professor. Helped me solidify psychology as being my major. His lectures were very entertaining and interesting, he doesn't read straight off slides. He also has a great sense of humor and responded to my emails very quickly. Attendance isn't required but if you go you'll get an A 100%.
One of the most knowledgable and interesting professors I've ever had. He really knows his stuff and doesn't just read off slides & instead applies material to his personal experiences to give a really great perspective to topics. 10/10.
This is my second class with Jeremy Holm and his is very easy, the lectures are great and he goes into detail about what he is teaching so that the students can understand.
Very easy to work with as long as you are putting effort into the class and preparing well. No homework, just exams which he provides the notes for. Everything is open note so even though participation isn't required it is a good thing to show up. His lectures are very interesting and I learned a lot of information that I will use in the real world
Great professor! Class is super easy, just go to class if not keep up with announcements and the GroupMe. there are plenty of extra credit quizzes, but you will only know about them if you go to lecture. Take his class if you need a social science credit it is the easiest. Class also gets cancelled a lot. Lectures are very interesting!
best professor ever! attendance isn't mandatory and he posts all of the lecture content, his lectures are not boring whatsoever and he is amazing at explaining everything. his tests aren't hard either, I would recommend his course to everyone.
Everything is open note. Attendance is not mandatory but the lecture is super interesting. Professor Holm provides all the resources you need to succeed in this class. The only grades are open note tests and extra credit quizzes which are also open note.
I liked how he conveys the information and only tells what's important for the exams and quizzes.
USE THE DETAILED CHAPTER NOTES you can copy and paste exam questions into google, but the detailed notes are literally everything you need, sometimes interesting, sometimes boring, depends if you enjoy these types of classes, easy A
easiest class taken, all online. Never went to class and got an A
I really like Professor Holm and the class in general. Because he teachers large class sizes, he does not require attendance. I rarely went, but made sure to check Blackboard often in case he sent out any extra credit. Tests, extra credit, and research requirements were all very manageable.
I really enjoyed this class and Professor Holms a lot. Attendance wasnt mandatory, but I suggest going because there is extra credit and during lecture he'll tell you things that are on the test but not in the textbook or online. Every test was open notes and during lecture he tells stories that pertain to class. Very interesting, amazing teacher
This is the easiest class I have ever taken. I have probably been to class like 4 times this semester and I have over a 100 in the class. There are exams, but they are taken online. There is also a required research credit that you have to do outside of class, but it is pretty easy. He also gives a lot of bonus.
Prof Holm is laid back and honestly just wants you to pass his class. You have to do a research requirement which is kind of annoying. He gives out chances for extra credit so definitely take them. His tests are open note, so just pay attention and you will do fine. Attendance isn't mandatory, so the class really isn't hard.
Super laid back psychology teacher. Attendance wasn't mandatory, but it was super important to get all 8 study hours done.
Really great professor! All of his lectures were thought out and I was genuinely interested about what he was talking about. His tests were open note so if you took good notes you are set. Also requires certain amount of hours participating in studies but if you start soon enough, you won't have to worry about it at the end of the semester.
Professor Holm's lectures were amazing. He used a lot of anecdotes when talking about various aspects of psychology which helped immensely. Satisfying the research requirement (participating in studies totaling 8 hours) was extremely important. Tests were open note.
By far the most inspirational professor I have met. He is very understanding and his way of teaching keeps me going to class to learn more. Lots of extra credit, tests are pretty easy with good studying and attending lectures. If you have the chance to take one of his courses, DO! It will change your life perspective. Love this man.
Super easy class with open note tests and a few extra credit assignments. There is a research requirement where you participate in uark psych studies for 10 hours total which was no big deal. Would take again. Holm is great and I loved his lectures.
This was such a manageable class and super interesting material. Attendance is not mandatory but he's a pretty interesting guy so I always went. Pretty politically-biased professor but otherwise no complaints. Tests are open-resource.
If you want to pass, take him! He makes it so easy to thrive .
I like Holm because he's realistic. He leaves it up to you how you're going to do in the class. You're responsible for your attendance, your research project, your test grades. He believes if you cheat, you're cheating yourself. Lectures are boring but they do help. Tests are open book/note, and he provides some notes. He's easy to get along with.
Professor Holm is very well-versed in this area of study. Attendance is not mandatory, but it was very beneficial for me to attend lectures. He announces extra credit quizzes and gives some exam questions during his lectures. I recommend completing your research requirements early so you don't have to scramble at the end of the semester.
Do yourself a favor and take psyc with Professor Holms. Although I have went to maybe two lectures I have over 100 in the class. And the two times I have been to class I loved it. First proffesor that has ever been able to make me stay interested and engaged the whole lecture. Do everything by the deadline and you will be flying by with an A.
Dr. Holm was great, pretty funny and interesting to listen to. Definitely knows his stuff, highly recommend his class if you need a credit. Attendance not required but highly recommended as he gives out test answers in class sometimes. Research requirement is very important here, just need to sign up for psych studies at the beginning of the year.
This class is very easy. All tests are online, at home with no lockdown browser. You do have to complete 10 pysc study hours but it isn't bad at all if you are proactive and get them done at the beginning of the semester. I got mine done within 2 weeks of class starting. There is no homework and you don't ever have to attend class.
Lectures can drag sometimes, but they can also be very interesting and they're undoubtedly helpful for exams, although you can definitely do just fine without them if your goal is to just get a good grade. Dr. Holm treats you like a grown up and expects you to act like one. But as long as you keep up with due dates, you won't have a problem.
He definitely didn't want to teach this class this semester but with that being said it was definitely my easiest class. Tests were at home with no lock down browser, and you didn't actually have to attend lectures. If you just keep up with checking blackboard and reading all the announcements you'll be fine.
Cancelled like 3/4 of our lectures, so he's good if you like that type of thing but I personally feel pretty ripped off. When we did have lectures, he was insanely boring. Exams were open note with study guides though, so if you fill those out it's a free A.
Professor Holm knows a lot about Psychology, but he always cancelled class. The only grades are four open note exams, and extra credit quizzes offered occasionally. For when we actually had class his lectures were not the most exciting, but informational. He provides effective study and note guides.
pretty straight forward
To start with the positive, Prof. Holm knows the material well, plus he's a very easy grader. class is graded on 4 tests, all open note and with extra credit. The lectures, however, are where he starts to suck. He has the most boring monotone voice and the most basic slides I've ever seen. He also presents information in the bleakest way possible.
Attendance is not mandatory. All of the test can be taken online and home and they are open book. He posts a note sheet that is basically the questions that are asked on the test. You have to get your research credits but they are super easy I would recommend getting them out of the way at the beginning of the semester.
