Not an easy professor, but not unnecessarily hard, either. Assignments are manageable, gives feedback so you can improve. Despite his busy schedule (he was teaching classes across 3 CCCs when I took him), he still made time to help me when I needed it. He cares about his students, but you have to care, too. Intelligent and funny. Highly recommend.

Awesome teacher he makes you work for your grade. Take notes and read the book. You go on a cool trip we went to lone pine for the winter semester. It was the best experience I ever had since we stayed in a small town and visited many great places like Death Valley. Lastly, don't cheat in his class. Y'all will regret it!

He is hilarious which is a great balance for this course! MUST attend a weekend trip, attend class to complete the labs, and participation matters. Patrich is great at lecturing and keeps you entertained the whole time. He cares about your success in the class. Come prepared & complete labs as these will help you during exams. No textbook required!

I took his online class over Winter Break and thought it was super easy. All of the weekly quizzes are open note and untimed. The mid-term and final are also open note but are timed, however, he gives plenty of time to finish. The only other assignments are discussion boards and a Term Paper that he gives at the beginning of the semester.

Professor Patrich was an amazing professor! Going into this class I did not know what to expect but he truly showed that he cared about us as people and not just his way to a paycheck. Patrich was very helpful and funny as he gave lectures. This class does require a 3 day trip but you are also able to take three different one day trips. Great class

Professor Patrich is excellent. He is knowledgeable and funny. This class was three hours long, but he made the time go by faster. His field trips are incredible. I am a working adult that has been in school for awhile and trully appreciate a good professor. Loved his class.

Jeremy is hilarious! He is a very cool dude. He reminds me of James Corden. Take his class, you will not regret it! Make sure you do the online quizzes and go on the mandatory field trips! Patrich has quality learning material. Discussions every week, he gives extra credit every week that significantly boost your grade, and there is only 2 tests 100 questions each and there are quizzes every week that range from 10-20 questions. This class is manageable. I am a returning student, mom, and work. I did every assignment, got B+ almost A

He will post a lot of extra credit there is really no reason that you will not pass. I took him a second time and he will always be available before class for any questions that you have. Hes a great professor.

Jeremy was a great professor and truly knows all about geology. He really cares about his students success and I felt like I could come to him about anything. There is a mandatory weekend field trip that each student must take but it was so much fun! Did not even feel like A SCHOOL TRIP. I highly highly recommend Jeremy he truly is amazing!

I took Professor Patrich for Geography 101. Professor Patrich really cares about the success of his students. He writes his own textbooks so that students can take the course regardless of difficult financial circumstances. He makes learning super fun and uses humor to make this subject interesting.

Absolutely loved him as a teacher. He made an early morning class really fun and it was a great learning experience. Everyone should go on the fieldtrip because it was such an amazing experience. Best teacher! He really wants everyone to succeed and will go out of his way to help you do well!

Took him in the short term Aug - Oct. 13 quizzes untimed, 5 discussions - respond two of your classmates post, 1 term paper - 1600 word, 1 midterm & 1 final - both 100 questions but timed. Great professor. fun lectures. He'll likely make you laugh. What a tragedy NOT to have had him for BOTH lecture and lab. It was not his fault but it was frustrating not having the consistency from lecture to lab (they were minutes apart). The other prof kinda stunk and did not follow the lesson order. I personally thought his class was hardishhhh, not too hard but you had to read and do the work to keep the A or not fall behind on the points. attend class for both lab and lecture and u will not fail and pass.

By far the best professor I have ever taken. He is very funny, understanding and helpful. The labs are mostly done as a class, but he makes sure you're actually learning. One lab per week, 1 midterm and 1 final. The answers to the the midterm and finals are all in the labs. Easiest class ever taken, wish every professor were like him!

I loved his class! I have had him in person before so I decided to take an online course. Assignments consisted of 5 discussions, 13 reading quizzes, midterm, final and a term paper. The midterm/final is the same as quizzes but some can be totally different so get ready to read the pdf of the text he provides. He is awesome!

I would highly recommend Patrich for any class. I had his Geology 109 lab in person and the lecture for Geog 104 online and both were great. He is super understanding and will help in any way he can. He provided a free etextbook so that we could save money, offered extra credit, and is not a tough grader at all. Take his class! You wont regret it!

Professor Patrich is by far one of the best professors at COC. Even during this pandemic where our in class lecture and Lab was transitioned to online in a matter of days. He was there to help us all throughout the process. His lectures and labs are very thorough and easy to grasp and get through. You will not regret taking any classes with him!

Professor Patrich is the best professor I have ever had. He's so caring and he is always willing to lend you a helping hand. The workload for the class is very reasonable and all the assignments correlate with what we are learning. Quizzes are easy but the tests are difficult if you don't study the lectures and study the reading for them.

Took this class for intersession and it was one of the best things I could've done as a student to get ahead. His grading is very clear, I recommend reaching out to him with any concerns and he'll give advice on how to do well in the class. A lot of labs but very manageable if you prioritize it ahead of other things for a short period. 10/10 class!

I only took the lab so it was easy but he goes over the lab on zoom. If you do take the lecture he has extra credit every week. Super fun class and he grades so easy to fail you must not want to do any work.

The class itself is really hard, however, I would not have passed if it wasn't for Patrich. He has weekly quizzes, which aren't to hard, he also has weekly EC! His labs are a bit long but he guides you through them in the zoom meetings. His mid-term and final exam, however, were extremely hard, just make sure you study for them. Also he is funny!!!

1000 STAR professor! Unfortunately, took class in short semester with another heavy course. Otherwise, I would have learned even more than I did. Best YouTubes, sense of humor, and professor really cares! A weekly social hour! Eight short weeks made tests harder. Be prepared to do your work, study, and especially learn a ton of new nomenclatures!

Winter term was heavy workload but most definitely manageable. Great professor and great YouTube videos. Textbook is used but its free and can be found in many different websites. Hes a fast grader which is rare to come across. I definitely recommend this class

I took his class online and he seems very caring and passionate. His lectures were good and he went the extra mile by actually filming in many of the places he talked about. The workload was very reasonable and the textbook was a free online one. The only real complaint is that I did not remember learning about many of the test questions.

I took CA Geography and I really enjoyed Professor Patrichs class. His lectures are really fun youtube videos. There are 3 assignments a week (200 word discussion & responses to 2 ppl), a short quiz, and a 500 word assignment. Sounds like a lot but its super easy. Tests are questions straight from past quizzes. I would definitely recommend him!!

I took my first online class with Professor Patrich. I enjoyed his class content. His curriculum was very clearly designed. He gave great feedback and there were some great opportunities for extra credit. I would take a class with him again.

The final exam was a bit difficult because it was timed and much longer than the other quizzes, but other than that a great experience and would take a class with him again in the future.

Quizzes are open note and book. Extra Credit if you work for it is offered at every opportunity. If you type submit discussions over the word count or respond beyond the 2 initial replies to other students you'll get extra credit. He always gives clear feedback to everything submitted. This is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. He is very quick to grade assignments, and he doesn't assign too much work. He is very understanding that we all have lives outside of class. He wants nothing but for us to pass. His quizzes and tests are all open notes, and he even reviews with you to make sure you understand the content.

A great teacher his YouTube videos were a tremendous aid in learning. I took his full-length California geography class in the spring. We had materials to watch on his YouTube channel or read. We wrote 500-word assignments to submit to him every week and participated in discussion boards due every Sunday. I had a fantastic time in his class.

Professor Patrich was a great professor during his GEOGRPH-105 class. It was mainly online so you have to do the work on your own time and by the due dates. He encourages participation in group discussions as well. Most of his lectures and material in the class is online, including the textbook and videos. Overall, he is a great professor!

I spent thousands of dollars at a 4 year university and needed a couple of community college classes to finish out my gen eds. Prof. Patrick was one of the best teachers I have ever had. He was so passionate about his subject matter. I have no interest in this field but would absolutely take one of his classes again. I learned so much!

Take his class online OR in person! It's organized, and he grades quickly. He explains concepts with relatable analogies to help you understand what you're learning (For example, if you're learning about sand dunes he might compare it to scooping ice cream, etc). A compassionate, relatable, excellent instructor. Highly recommend.

His YouTube lectures made the material interesting. I took the class in the condensed winter term and it is labor intensive. He is a very fair grader as long as you do the work. He unlocked all the material and assignments in the beginning so you can work ahead. He is very engaging and helpful, would recommend his classes.

Professor Patrich was amazing. He gives so much extra credit that a handful of my classmates finished with over 100%. That being said, make sure you attend each class because the lab exam (which is very challenging) won't impact your grade as much if you've attended the previous labs. Just do the work on time each week, and you'll ace it.

This class was taken as a summer course (5 weeks) all condensed from what would normally be a 12 week course. The only reason it was lecture heavy was due to being assigned 3 chapters of work, you'll do fine

He's very kind, understanding, and makes the material feel interesting and engaging. There was a somewhat heavy workload that got overwhelming at times but he's very willing to work with you!
