He is a great teacher that it is definently qualified to teach. He is extremely intelligent and i enjoy going to class and listening to his lectures. To make an A or B all you have to do is study your notes. He is my favorite teacher at Gordon so far.
He is one of the worse teacher I had. He is really boring and unclear about his notes. We only had one test, midterm, and final. Most of student in my class made F. I barely made C in class. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!
he don't know what is he talking about. his class is really boring. very unorganized. most of the people in my class failed the class.
Jeremy Richards is the worst professor in the history of man. He is extremely country and looks like Pee Wee Hermon. When you see him and listens to the way he talks, you want to bust out laughing. He's a joke and a horrible teacher. Trust me I made A's and one B last semester and had to drop his class because I had a D after the first test.
Dr. richard is the best history teach that i have ever had. he knows what he is talking about. as long as you some to class and take notes you will do good. i am making a 95. minimal studying as long as you pay attention.
Dr. Richards is so much fun his class is so easy and interesting. I recommend taking him. Just pay attention in class and you will do good on tests. He is funny to so it makes class more enjoyable. His lids on his bottles never match. that kinda was weird.
He is a good teacher. He is really interested in what he talks about. If you take good notes and study them before the test you will pass. The tests are very easy.
I loved his class. I am taking another from him this fall. he is kinda nerdy but a real nice guy. you only have three tests including the final, and no quizzes or projects. but i skipped the first two and took all 3 @ final and made a b. i studied hard, but i didnt kill myself over it. he knew i skipped the first 2 and helped me out on what to stud
I really enjoyed his class. Very easy. Just look over your notes before the exams and you will be fine.
he lectures alot!! like all day everday. It is difficult to sort through the notes and decide what may be on the test and what may not. He is very funny and interesting, and if he likes you he won't drop your grade if you miss too many classes
Dr. Richards is probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. He knows tons about history and is a very smart person. His test were easy as long as you study and review the notes. I would take his class again hands down. Really get to know him because he is really nice.. don't let his looks mislead you.
Dr. Richard is a great teacher! He talks a lot and sometimes it's hard to keep up but he is always more then happy to repeat himself. His tests are fair. If you take notes and study them, then you'll do fine. I'm not a big fan in History because I was never any good, but I eneded up getting B's on his tests. I definately recommend him!
This is a great class and if you take it seriously you will have no problem doing well. Mr. Richards is a very nice man and has a great sense of humor.
I really enjoy his class. He is funny and easy.
Okay, first don't waste money and buy the book. Otherwise it's a pretty good class. You only have three tests though and that can make it difficult. He's a pretty good teacher as long as you can deal with his funny and very inaccurate impressions of Britian, Northern, and French accents. His tests are really easy and makes the class easy.
Dr. Richards is a ball. He is funny and his tests are a breeze. Just study your notes and you will do well.
Dr. Richards is adorable and I loved his class. Sadly I dont have any more history classes or I would take him again.
cute as a button!! LOved his class.
NOTES NOTES NOTES NOTES NOTES... No powerpoint, and does not tell you what's going to be on the test out of his 15 pages of notes. Test generally cover 4 chapters. That's 60 pages of notes to study with no idea what you need to study. TON AND TONS OF INFORMATION.
this class is very boring notes everyday no extra credit keeps over time and he just really sucks i would give hime a F on everything he does
This guy is great, absolutely adorable. I had him for an American History class, took him again for Western Civ.(a class I really won't need unless I go on to my BSN). He makes you want to learn History, because is so passionate about it. Great guy.
I recommend him to anyone who still needs to take their U.S History class. He is fair and pretty funny. You have to take a lot of notes but you don't need to bother buying the book. Tests are pretty easy if you study at least a little bit.
YOU DO NOTHING BUT TAKE LOTS OF NOTES. YOUR GRADE COME FROM A COUPLE TEST THAT YOU TAKE WHICH ARE OVER A LOT OF CHAPTERS AT ONCE AND YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING TO BE ON THE TEST. PLUS, HE'S KINDA CREEPY. CAN BE FUNNY SOMETIMES THOUGH.
SUPER EASY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. SURE YOU TAKE ALOT OF NOTES, BUT YOU WILL LEARN ALOT. DR. RICHARDS IS VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT HISTORY. HE IS ALSO VERY UNDERSTANDING.
pretty easy class. only 3 tests but they are really easy if you study. class is kind of boring...all he does is lecture but it is an easy A. he makes lame jokes but they are pretty funny
Easiest A in history ever. Easy to understand and he gives you the identification ?'s b4 test date. Everything else is multiple choice. Uses funny voices, is not monotone but your hand will hurt after this class. Also plan to stay until the VERY LAST MIN of class. Highly recommended!
I enjoyed his class a lot. Three tests and three quizzes. All you have to do is take notes and study... very straightforward. ---Don't waste your money on the book, it will not be used unless you take really bad notes. Dr. Richards is a bit eccentric, but he's a good guy/
be prepared to take 8000 pages of notes every class. he talks from the minute class starts to the minute class ends. he will not cancel class, and he will not let you out early. other than that, he is a pretty cool guy. decent sense of humor, and the tests aren't very hard. make sure to study study study if you know there's going to be a quiz!
Class is VERY Boring. No powerpoints, few pictures. I didn't buy the book, and did just fine. Take all the notes and study. Attendance doesn't really matter, but without the notes you won't pass. If you can get another teacher, I would.
This is the worst History class for me because it's boring. Dr. Richards is a terrible teacher. He talks the whole class period. You take notes from beginning till the end of class. No visuals. This is not the class for a visual learner. Make sure you attend class regularly or you will fail. His tests are based on class notes.
He is a great professor. I hate history and he made it all make sense. You never use the book and take about 5-10 pages of notes a class. The tests are EXACTLY like the notes and are mostly multiple choice with a few fill in the blank. He gives 3 pop quizzes but drops the lowest one. I would recommend him to anyone!!!
Great Professor. The test come straight from the notes. It couldn't get any better than that. You will take notes from the time class start until the very last min. You will have about 30 pages of notes to study for each test. A laptop would be useful.
I love Dr. Richards! His lectures are very interesting and well delivered. His personality is nothing short of precious. If you need to take another history I would definitely recommend him :)
This class is extremely easy! Test comes straight from the notes and sometimes he'll give you pgs from the txtbook for the test... other than that you don't use the book. There are 3 pop quizzes, he drops the lowest grade. He lectures the entire time, but it's not boring at all. His dorky sense of humor & thick accent make it enjoyable.
So, I'm pretty much in love with this guy. Easily the best teacher at Gordon in any subject. He makes history fun again... which sounds lame, but is completely true. ;] He's a total nerd, which really adds to the charm. Make sure when you register, you have the right "J Richards" because there are two, and you'll be so sad if you get the wrong one.
Dr. Richards is wonderful! His class is all about his lecture and your note-taking. Take notes and study them, you'll do great. I hate history classes but really enjoyed his. He's goofy with a silly sense of humor.
Dr Richards is very qualified to teach history.Seriously if you write down everything he says, thats the test. study your notes and youll do great. He is very clear and answers questions when needed. Tests have many chapters on them & are worth 25% each so its huge that you do well but if you take good notes and study and go to class, its no worries
Dr Richards make history doable but be prepared to practically write a novel in every class(youll take about 6-12 pgs of notes each day) but thats all the stuff u will see on the test so its helpful to write everything down. youll be qualified to write history text books with all the notes u will have at the end, NO JOKE!!!
Dr Richards make history doable but be prepared to practically write a novel in every class youll take about 6-12 pgs of notes each day but thats all the stuff u will see on the test so its helpful to write everything down. youll be qualified to write history text books with all the notes u will have at the end, NO JOKE!!!
Dr. Richards is awesome! He teaches soo well his whole test comes from the notes. Just write down everything he says and study hard and you'll be good. He makes history fun and interesting. I would take him again if I could. He's very clear on what you should expect on the test. Great guy too.
Dr. Richards was by far the best history teacher ever. Sure you may take alot of notes but you gain alot from it you never have to use the book you can just look at your notes for the test. I never made anything less thatn a 90 on his tests. Def an easy summer class
you have to take alot of notes but his test are really easy if you study the notes. you have 3 quizzes during the semester but he takes the highest grade. Just study the notes and you will make an A
Wonderful teacher! I almost miss having this class. Explains material very well and makes history facinating. I gained a lot of knowledge. My hand was about to fall off after every class, but as long as you take good notes and study them the tests are very passable. You have 3 chances to do good on pop quizzes, so better show up for class!
Super nice teacher! I made an A in his class. I took about 6 pages of notes for each class. His tests are very easy. All you have to do is write down everything he says and study the notes. You only use the book about 3 times.
He is a really easy teacher. Class is strictly lecture...no powerpoints or outlines. Attendance isn't required, but you can't pass his test unless you go to class. Only three test (including the final) and no other homework. Test are mainly multiple choice and EASY. I highly reccomend him.
I have taken him for western civ and u.s. history and made an A both classes. You can't ask for a n easier history class. Seriously. Tests are multiple choice+essay and are super easy! You only use the book like 2 times. Highly recommend him!!
A helpful teacher but extremely boring. I do not recommend taking him for an early class; you'll fall asleep. Basically all you do is three exams. There is no group work, class work, homework, only exams. But do your readings or you will fail his class! Each exam requires an explanation to your reading. Read one thing of what he gives you.
Easy A but he is BORING.I got the distinct impression that he would rather be at the beach.Came to class late almost everyday.I asked him to please email me my final exam grade ASAP because I needed to calculate my grade so I could turn in my nursing app.He said okay and then didn't do it.Had to guess my grade to turn in my app. I'm not impressed!!
He's pretty good. You don't need the book. He lectures the whole time but repeats himself a lot. The multiple choice part EASY, essay tricky but possible to pass. You would only have 3 test including final. All in all TAKE HIM!
I love this guy! I took him in the summer and the tests are really easy. The test contains multiple choice questions and an essay, but it's easy. If you do not like history, I recommend you to take this guy!
Three test and you had better listen because 99% comes from his notes. I suggest a tape recorder. Also write down the possible essay questions because one will be on the test.
Very interesting and funny. Don't waste your money on a textbook.
Dr. Richards is an excellent professor! He enjoys what he does & it comes across in his lectures. I didnt like American history until taking his class. Take good notes & there are only 3 tests for the semester, which are from the notes, so you must study. Also, study the key words that are written on the board. A book isnt needed. An easy A!!!
His classroom lectures were somewhat boring at times, but, then again, I am not a history person. He lectures the whole time with no powerpoint, but he will occasionally write important names down. His tests aren't focused on minute details. Tests are very lenient in regards to the essay. Really, for a history class, it could not get easier.
Either take notes like a snail or record the lectures. Either way its impossible to fail this class.
Mr. Richards is an awesome teacher. I don't like history but he makes the class more bearable. His tests are 30 questions multiple choice and 1 essay question. They come straight from the notes! easy A as long as you come to class and pay attention. Nice teacher too.
Attendance is a must. Bring a pen and paper to every class, you will be taking around 4 pages of notes per class period. The entire test comes from his notes. There are only 3 grades in the class total, which makes it a little difficult to pass. But if you take good notes you will be fine.
Very good professor knows the subject and teaches it well I actually looked forward to his class
Super easy class. Very cool teacher. His jokes are lame but funny. Test easy. Definitely would recommend taking him. I loved the class. Test exactly from the lecture. Easy A.
Lectures EVERY class, but if you can write notes then you can pass with an A. History is not my strong subject but are passing with a high A. He gives 2 tests and a final exam, and everything comes from the notes, SUPER easy. Would totally take him again!! If you aren't good in history this is the teacher for you!
Once class starts, he'll stand there and just talk and talk. However, he obviously knows his stuff, and he's a pretty charming guy in a very very Southern way. Tests are really easy. He'll ask you something like "Who was the Native American woman who met John Smith?" with 1 viable MC option and 3 jokey ones. I recommend a laptop for notes.
Only 3 grades your final grade and all are tests.
Mr Richards is an amazing teacher! Lots of notes to be taken but keep up with the notes and pay attention and you're guaranteed to pass
Mr. Richards is a great teacher , i did not do so well in his class but that was definitely my fault and i would totally tell other students to take his class.
He only gave us 2 tests and a final. He told us to get a book, and we didn't even use it. His tests are by the notes so you have to come to class everyday to take them.
NOTES! Lecture only, with 3 tests (no other grades)! I would prefer to learn with assignments or discussion. There's not much interaction other than him talking and you listening. He is really nice though, funny, and grades fairly/generously. His tests are mostly m/c, with a very easy essay that he gives you ahead. His tests directly from notes.
Class was relatively easy. Only 3 tests. Lectures the whole class period and you have to write everything down he's saying (doesn't use pp or anything like that). Attendance isn't mandatory. Just study your notes and you'll do fine on the tests.
Dr. Richard's class is very lecture-heavy. All of his test material comes directly from his notes, so as long as you go to class everyday and take good notes, you will be fine. He does only give 3 tests, which kind of sucks, but they are m/c and 1 easy essay question that he practically gives you the answer to. He barely uses the book.
You need patience. A lot of notes will be taken in his class. I loved it but most do not. He only gives 3 tests, but the final is test 3, so no big test where you review EVERYTHING. His accents are weird but funny.
Super easy just make sure you show up and take notes. Your only grades are 2 tests and your final but just study your lecture notes and you'll be fine. He tried to make jokes a lot and tried to speak in different accents to be funny but it mostly just came off as creepy. He obviously knows his stuff though so I recommend him.
He lectures the whole class. Doesnt do PowerPoint or give study guides so make sure you write everything down and study your notes and you will do fine on the 3 tests. If u miss a class make sure u buddy up w someone or u will miss a WHOLE lot. Tests are mc with a essay question but he gives you the question ahead of time. Will take again!
Pretty cool guy. very lecture heavy. if you come to class and take notes you will pass his class. only 3 test, pretty easy if you study and have taken good notes. no homework, no extra credit, no pop quizzes, no quizzes at all. just take notes and you will pass his class!! I learned a lot
whole class was based on 2 tests & the exam. Missing maybe a few classes is okay but if you skip this class often, you're screwed because you'll miss A LOT of material that will be on the tests. Okay prof but kinda weird & made weird impressions in class. Sometimes it was so lame that it was funny. Boring lectures but easy class if you show up
If you miss class 2x+ ever or you are not willing to sit in a lecture and write for the entire hour, of exactly every word he says, then this class is NOT for you, but if you are willing to attend class, listen and write every word and just study your notes and put effort--you will pass. 3 test only, I learn more from him than any other prof.
I loved him because his test were literally just like the notes, as long as you study the notes youre sure to make an A on his test.
Dr. Richards is definitely not for you if you dont like 75 minutes of straight lecture. He is amusing to watch but sometimes he gets off topic. He only gives three grades and the questions come only from the notes so skipping class isnt an option. He doesnt use a powerpoint at all so if you take his class be ready to write.
He is a very intelligent man. In fact, they call him "Megamind". He gives you 3 tests throughout the semester. His test consists of the notes he lectures about in class. He does not use powerpoints or anything to help guide you with his lecture. You have to listen to get his notes. Terrible course and I would not take him again. He smart though.
If you cant write fast I would advise you not to take this class. He talks throughout the whole class and he talks very fast so some of the things you can't catch. The only grades you get from him are your test grades so make sure you study hard !
He is a very smart guy but is VERY difficult. His class is just him giving a lecture really fast and its hard to keep up with everything he says and try to write it down. He also doesn't give study guides you have to rely on your notes so if you are absent or missed something he says it wont be good.
Such a great teacher, genuinely enthusiastic about his material. He actually teaches almost everything on the tests except for a few questions from the book. So if you read the passages he tells you to read for the test and take notes during the lectures, it's an easy A. You will need a good memory!!! Only 3 tests, including the final.
Took him online and he uploads around 10-12 audio files (ranging from 45-1 hr 20min)for each test. Gave an outline for what each audio file would cover. Also tells you what the essay will be. Was able to pause and go back which definitely helped. Explains content well and keeps it interesting. Take him online if possible!
Richards is AMAZING! I enjoyed his class a lot, you have to show up to pretty much every class and take decent notes if you want to do good on his tests. he goes over everything that will be over the tests and writes the main topics on the board. Great personality and even though the lectures are long he makes it enjoyable. I recommend him.
Dr. Richard's enthusiasm for history is contagious, even if you're not a history major. He posts lectures online and I find them to be interesting and often humourous too. He does use a textbook but only for a few passages. Great class! If you listen to the lectures and take notes, the tests will be a breeze! Highly recommend!
Only 3 test and if you fail one you've pretty much failed the class. Only lecture so if you miss a class it heavily effects your grade on the test. No way to get missed information.
If you are an auditory learner then this class is for you. He gives very fun and enthusiastic lectures, but the only visual you get is pictures. He speaks really fast and it's hard to type or write while listening. There's nothing to refer back to like PowerPoint or study guides. Overall, it would be amazing if he provided us with visual resources.
I had a good experience in this class. You have to take notes EVERY lecture in order to be successful. Professor Richards is someone to remember, as my mother and her siblings remember Jeremy Richard's lectures now as middle-aged adults. I highly recommend this class if you need history credits. Also the textbook is recommended and not required.
As a non-history major, this class was an absolute breeze. As long as you come to class every day willing to listen and take notes you will get an easy A. No homework, no quizzes, and no extra credit. Just 3 VERY EASY tests. I crammed for every test the day before and received at least a 90 on each one. He makes history very fun, a great Professor.
Wasn't hard, but make sure you don't miss class and take good notes on everything he is saying. There are only three grades; Test 1, Test 2, and Test 3. The tests are based off of the notes you take on his lectures. There is a book he asks you to buy. He assigns small sections to read for the test as well but the bulk of it is note based.
His class is basically weekly lectures backed up by a textbook. The class is easy to pass if you study hard for the three tests that your grade consists of. There's not much you can do about the grading because there's no participation or extra credit, but as long as you go to class and study everything he talks about, you're good. Same for online.
Great professor, very interesting class. only 3 grades: tests 1, 2, and 3. the tests are based off his lectures. there are no powerpoints to follow, you must take notes based off what he is saying. will repeat things if you ask. would not recommend missing class. overall very nice guy, does a good job of explaining material concisely.
- Your only 3 grades are 3 exams - There's no power points, notes are just from him talking (although he will write important names or phrases on the board as he goes, and will show pictures of the people he's teaching about) - Very nice guy, very quirky, you can really tell he loves history! Don't miss this class!
Professor Richards' HIST2111 class is a great option for non-history majors. The lectures are engaging, and as long as you attend class and take thorough notes, the tests are very manageable. Using unstuck AI alongside the textbook can be a helpful study tool.
Dr. Richards is a pretty good professor. You have to show up to class if you want the information. He talks the whole entire time. There's only 3 grades the whole semester, and they are the exams. The exams are pretty easy though. I do recommend him if you take notes good and fast.
