All I have to say is Jeremy is the man. He is very helpful and likes class participation. All you have to do is show up everyday and you won't have a problem at all!! Professor Sideris is hip to the game...
great guy, likewise he is great teacher. go to class, enjoy yourself and you wont have a problem. if you need help he is always there for you.

Pretty easy class, a few papers, but nothing really too hard. He's a great guy.. says "for instance" and "likewise" WAAAYY too much. it actually drives me insane. pretty confusing but he is more than happy to clarify if u just ask. also he doesn't keep attendance.
Looks like Kevin Smith from Jay and Slient Bob movies. He likes busy work, but pretty helpful in everything. Will read different books through semster, keep up on readings.
Sexiest man alive, and I look forward to the days when he wears jeans. Kind, compassionate teacher, but his call for students to be responsible adults is most refreshing.
Jeremy is easily the coolest professor i have ever had...Class work is intense but it is well worth it...
Dr. S is awesome! He is very helpful and understanding. He's all about his office hours, but I do recommend them, they help. He does give out a lot of work though, but as long as u do the work, you will be fine. You also read about 4 books during the semester.
Dr. S is on of the most helpful professors that I've had in my 4 yrs here. He is willing to work with you on any problem you have during the semester. Don't be afraid to talk to or email him with questions/problems. Great class. Will learn a lot! Recommended highly!
More concerned with pushing american literature rather than teaching actual writing/research techniques. Ended up getting a lot of relief from my brother who had a different prof. He is very easy to reach and helpful. Also does not condem disagreement. Five books to read in a 4.5 week summer session is outrageous for a writing/research class!!!
Best teacher I've yet had. Extensive knowledge of argument and a fine writing coach. Best looking English professor, too.
Reminds me of Charlie Edwards Jr., only not a loser and I enjoy his company.
Excellent teacher. Expects a lot from his students, but doesn't set his expectations impossibly high- he knows the first semester at college is stressful. Very clear on what he expects from you; will prepare you for college writing. Take him if you want to learn.
Ah, almost like my Senoir English. Very open, likes to be opinionated and likes to hear yours as well. A Very good Professor...
If you had a terrible high school english class like mine take this class. He is the most helpful professor I had in the fall semester. I wish every professor could be as kind and attentive to the needs of freshmen students.
Jeremy is the only English prof. that has given me the confidence that I can actually write! He asks a lot out of his students, but he's willing to help you every step of the way. Take his class if you like to read... we are doing 4 novels and a textbook.. Read the books, GO TO THE WRITING CENTER, and contribute in class and you will do fine.
Nice guy, fun class, but far too much homework.
Go to the writing center for a good grade. Many assignments to heighten your english skills. Also many books so read, however the literature is AWESOME!
Dr. Sideris is nothing less than amazing. He showed me how to structure my work and fix my sentence-level worries. The Writing Center, at first, was a bit of a hassle, but it helps in the long run. His class is a great atmosphere; very open and welcoming. He is hilarious as well. Many great context quotes from him!
I learned a lot in this class and read some good books. Dr. S. genuinely cares about what the students are gaining from the class. The syllabus looks overwhelming at first, but the work is manageable.
Jeremy is the coolest professor ever!!! I never thought that I had any writing ability but now I'm a better and more confident writer than ever!!!! He asks a lot out of his students, but it's worth it. According to him, we wrote 3 times as much as other 101 classes and read 3 more books. All I know is that we earned whatever grade we got.
Dr. Sideris was the best english teacher i have ever had, he pushed my writing to new levels. He will help you with whatever you ask him too. I appreciate his classes so much, especially now that i'm in a english class with a horrible professor. Take Dr. Sideris if you can, he's the best!
The guy is an absolute **** when you disagree with him. I've never had a professor send me an e-mail telling me that I was being mean and that I'm an iconoclast. He demands perfection and 9/10 times your grade will suffer if you don't achieve it. Absolutely DO NOT take this class if you want to succeed in English!
A beautiful man and a lovely person.
I have had this teacher for 2 classes,, He is the only teacher that I can honestly say that I have had a fun relationship with. Hes an awesome teacher and very interesting. I got a B in both clases and he doesnt take attendence but you go because you enjoy the class. I would advise anyone who hasnt taken and english to take him,,, amazing ,, great
So this man makes you read African American novels, when we are really supposed to be learning how to write papers. I'm not sure why, but he does like to give a lot of work. The one positive thing is that he likes to get involved with his students. On the other hand, he can be very ignorant and answer ur question without really answering it.
Put simply, Sideris is the best professor I've ever had.
I wish he could teach all of my classes.

He is the proff to take... alot more work than your average eng101 class, but its worth it, the class was insightful and entertaining.
In all honesty, this man is a genius. The work he requires forces you to push your mind beyond its normal boundaries and capabilities - and its fun!
Jeremy comes across extremely difficult and impossible but as long as you do your work on time and talk a little bit in class you should be fine, he doesn't grade nearly as harsh as he appears. Plus he's really interesting having conversations with. A good guy.
fantastic prof. inspired me in so many ways.
Being in his class, I can feel my womanhood blossoming; he's that hot! He's the best professor on campus, an evil genius, but in the best way possible. Does anybody know if he gets down?
Great course for freshman! Jeremy is committed to his teaching and will do anything to help you. He allows for open discussion of any topic. Makes students feel equal to him in power over their grade. Mid term is extremely fair. Study the syllabus. Go to his office hours to "pick his brain". You won't regret it. Best English teacher ever!!!!
Awesome professor. If you like english or dont like english he is the professor to take. Will help you with anything and encourages you to "pick hi brain" for help. Probably the best english professor on any campus!
He works you hard- but he offers a lot of help along the way. His classes are ALWAYS interesting, and even though they aren't mandatory- nobody really wanted to miss his class. Whenever I leave his classroom, my head is so active and I can't stop considering everything in the world. take him. He'll inspire you- whether you want him to or not!
Best teacher I've ever had. He makes class fun and is extremely helpful. Don't be afraid to ask questions about your papers because he'll help you in anyway possible.
He's a great man, and an even better person. A must have teacher, and a great friend.
Jeremy is a stud, both an awesome teacher and person. Hes not afraid to say anything if it gets a point across. His knowledge of pop culture, refererences to his own crazy life, and incredible academic knowledge add up to him being the best professor I have ever had. By the way if he reads this and sees any split infinitives, i apologize.
Class was always interesting. I still use some of the info. in the syllabus handed out for my current paper guidelines.
Work hard, you'll get a good grade. Interesting discussions in class. Really wants you to succeed.
I don't like him. he thinks he's better than everyone...he's always trying to act cool and****
Good teacher, but very arrogant. Teaches the subject matter very well, then goes off on a rant about the holocaust. He can relate anything and everything to his "amazing and prestigious" life. Overall a cool guy though, I've smoked my share of cigs with him before class
For a 102 class it is extremely hard! Be prepared to work A LOT! Is a great guy and willing to help, some topics are fun and interesting but his long papers would be so much easier to write if we could choose the topic! He wants to see us succeed but you will DEFINATELY work for you grade. Great teacher to take if you have a lot of time and effort!
this guy is pretty ridiculous...25 page group paper and 20 page individual paper on 5 boring movies and he thinks he is a genuis...if your not an english major i wouldnt take him...runs 100 level class like a 400 level...
It is obvious the last commenter is not doing well in Dr. Sideris' class; check out the commenter's spelling -- Laughable. Dr. Sideris is the bomb. He is best English professor Edinboro has.
Dr. Sideris is the best! He usually has small classes with a lot of student participation. He's extremely friendly and understanding and he doesn't grade too harshly. The only thing is, he picks the weirdest class "themes." (Blaxploitation movies? Whaaatt?)
He has a tendency to be a bit pompous and arrogant about himself. He seems like a decent person but some of the subjects he picks are so boring and dry that it's difficult to find any interest in them. He's definitely willing to be your friend and help you though.
He is a wise man, but needs to learn that not everyone is exactly as good as he is.
Sideris always teaches the MOST INTERESTING material to get the point of writing across. We studied the social construction of blackness (only the few ****s in class didn't like the subject). When my cousin took him, they studied the Nazi's conception of Whiteness. Sideris brings what they teach at Ivy League schools to Edinboro! A cool rebel!
The only students to complain about Sideris are those who are too lazy to get their reading and writing done. He doesn't suffer fools: Sideris centers his attention on those who want to do their best, and not on those who don't care about their progress. He'll even loan students text books so they can excel.
Edinboro needs to hire more professors like him. I plan on taking all of his classes.
he is very nice and he keeps his class interesting, i have learned a lot from him already and use what he teaches me in all of my other classes, we need more professors like him
Dr. Sideris sees his students as equals rather than inferior. It's nice to have a prof that is seeking to learn something from reading your papers rather than just critiquing them. He frequently asks what troubles you're having with his papers and tries to send you in the right direction. Very approachable, intelligent and a good sense of humor.
not a bad class. his textbook is dry but if you pay attention and try hard you pass. plus that picture is old. he's older and fatter but still a good prof
Nice guy and willing to help. If you're looking for an easy a do not take him. If you're willing to work hard for your grade, it will pay off with Sideris. He is not easy, but I learned a lot from his class and still got an a. If you're a serious student, definetely take him for 101.
Full of himself, but one of the best teachers I've ever had. I learned more in his class than in most other classes taken for my major. I am more confident in my writing now.
I just know he posted his own picture on here. That seems like something he would do. ...Hi Jeremy. Anyway, he's a nice guy (especially if you're a girl. Come on, you were all thinking it). I enjoyed his class, for the most part. The writing center is usually a helpful place, so go there even if you don't take his classes.
Sideris is the David Duchovny of professors.
Really great guy/prof. Subject matter is interesting and you watch many great flicks for your papers. He is funny, and I usually enjoyed every class. Though fun, it does require more work than most 101 classes such as mandatory writing center visits. But it was worth it, papers were fun to write but he's a hard grader, still overall great
hard teacher for a 101 class. try to avoid taking him. test are hard. 5 page papers compared to other classes who write 2 pages.
So the last person to write in says he makes you work. I guess he or she has a problem with becoming prepared for future school work. Nice grammar, too, buddy.
Sideris makes sure you are prepared for future course work. It is funny how the few people who complain have lousy grammar.
Best teacher I have ever had. In addition to helping you become an excellent writer, he teaches you his three favorite virtues: humilty, bravery, and honesty.
Dr. Sideris is the best professor I have had at Edinboro. He is always ready to help you to become the best writer you can be. He lives his three favorite virtues: Humility, Honesty, and Bravery. Everybody gets along with him, expect people who do not want to do the work or people who feel the world owes them something.
Professor Sideris is FANTASTIC! Words of wisdom though, do not use your cell phone in class, do not chat to your neighbor while he is speaking and participate as much as you can. Great professor.
Dr. Sideris is an awesome professor! He is willing to help you when you need it! He is an extremely great person, not just a great professor. Work for him at the writing center if you get the chance. It is a very good experience, also!
Dr. Sideris is a great guy. He truly cares, and loves connecting with his students. He makes you feel equal, not inferior. He is my favorite professor. Very intelligent and inspirational!
Professor Sideris is a great teacher and mentor. He cares about how his students are doing and engages you in class. People who say his class is hard are dead wrong and have clearly never written a 2 page paper before!
Dr. Sideris is one of the best professors that I have ever had. If you want the class to be easy, do not take his class. If you actually want to learn, he is the professor for you. I took his class at buffalo state college. I don't know if his class at Edinboro is any different...
I enjoyed going to class and his lectures were very inspirational. If youre a good student and always go to class but might have accidentally slept through youre alarm hell be nice and let you retake a quiz, even though he says if you miss the test day you cant retake it. Such a great teacher I made sure I had him again next semester.
This man is difficult, don't get me wrong, but he is great at what he does. He prepares 100-level students for higher level classes with both the papers he assigns and the quizzes he does. Lectures somewhat connect to the books and essay topics, but they are still great to sit and listen to.
Dr. Sideris is an amazing professor. His lectures are relatable and interesting. His class is difficult but you will leave it as a better writer.
I personally loved Sideris. I'm not sure if it was simply due to the subject matter (Everything was based around the 1970s), but his lectures were always super entertaining and fun. Only assignments were 3 papers. First two we had to read a book, and write a paper, third we got to choose the 70s related topic which was cool. 10/10 would take again
Dr. Jeremy Sideris is the best English teacher you will ever experience in your life time. He cares about you, he is respectful, funny, he will take time out with you and help you until you understand. He is awsome and I am so glad I had that experience to be in his classroom. His grading is tuff but you will make it through it. Ask questions!!!!
Dr. Sideris was very easy to talk to, and he gave great feedback when returning essays back to students. For our class, we learned about the 1970s, where every single class attended, he lectured about different parts of the 1970s (not too sure about other topics and how he teaches).
He is a very dedicated and understanding professor. He will take time outside of class if needed and is very personable. Makes lectures enjoyable and is a fair grader. Would definitely recommend him!
Online class is based solely on fifteen tests only. He gives only 12 hours to complete the test. Questions come straight from the book. Look out for questions that were in small lettering in the chapter.
Man's a champ. Real down to earth, up-beat guy, tells funny stories. He gives good writing, and idea feedback. 101 with Sideris, is a relaxed but useful introduction to college level English classes.
This guy is one of the most amazing creatures I have ever met. He spends 20 minutes a class teaching important information, then the next hour talking about whatever he wants. His mind-numbing lectures leave you dumbfounded, questioning what you have done to displease God and make him put you through this fresh hell. I would not recommend.
One of my most favorite professors of all time. I had him for both 101 and 102. He is so unbelievably philosophical and very articulate with his words. He's taught me so much intriguing information that has stuck with me long after his lessons. It made my morning to see him every Tuesday and Thursday. Love him to bits! A MUST have in Edinboro!
Beware If you take Sideris online. He expects you to turn assignments in entirely through email. His expectations for students are too high when it comes to keeping an eye on your grade, he doesnt post the grades for the online classes. If he loses your email he will give an F without checking on you. Unprofessional attitude. SAVE EVERY EMAIL!!
Only four assignments needed turned in when I took this in the fall. A completely manageable class and I absolutely loved it!
Got a lot of knowledge from the class. Cares about his students and work were very reasonable.
Professor Sideris does spend a lot of time talking about "whatever" as one comment states. However, if you can follow along, he is trying to teach you how to question a topic for research. His class was slightly challenging because he has high expectations! USE HIS OFFICE HOURS!!!
To sum up what makes Dr. Sideris a great professor can't be done in 350 characters. The man invites you along through his own way of thinking and encourages you to develop your own process of interrogating ideas. He is both the most bizarre, and most respectable professor I had at Edinboro. Best of all, my writing skills noticeably improved.
Sideris is a pendulum swinging between genius and madness, which makes his lectures entertaining and informative. In terms grading, expectations are clear and allow plenty of time for students to develop their papers. Content wise, he diversifies subjects and encourages students to explore them in their own way. Truly an awesome professor.
This man will talk about 50-300 point assignments for 10 minutes then lecture aka ramble about nothing remotely close to what he should be. Reading these reviews of him did not show me how truly boring and sometimes disturbing his lectures are. In my experience, he only goes into detail about the history of women and feminism way too much. 0/10
To all the people who made him look heaven sent I think we were talking abt different people. He made us spend 70 dollars on the books he wrote to never talk about them after the first week of class. instead of teaching abt the stuff we were getting graded on, he plays music videos of women and drolls at 8 am then talks abt feminism for an hour.
Sideris' class is challenging but engaging. The lectures are entertaining, and he's willing to work with students. Using Unstuck ai and the free textbook helped me stay on top of the work. Definitely take this class if you're up for it!
