I took her in the spring, i believe if i had study harder for the first 3 tests i would have not dropped. She is a funny and friendly teacher who is willing 2 help you. She has a sense of humor and she loves math. I have never seen someone who loves math like she does. i would recommend her 2 anyone taking bus calc.
most amazing teacher at moraine.she cares about her students so much.if you come prepared with the knowledge you gain from MTH141 and put effort, you will do great.there are 4 exams and prepares you for it with a review day and review sheet.she grades your HW,which will bump up your grade if you did bad on a test (HIGHLY RECOMMEND solutions manual)
when she notices that her students are doing their hw, she is willing to answer whatever questions you have on it and explains it all on board. also has a sense of humor and keeps class interesting. this is not an easy A unless you work for it. she also replaces the final grade with the lowest exam grade. best teacher!
Worst math teacher i have ever had.i think she has ADHD. She does not know how to teach. When she teaches she bounces around instead of just teaching you how to solve a problem all at once. I would never reccommend her, and if you do take her Good Luck cause you will fail! because she doesnt know how to teach it was hard for me to even get a C in
Great teacher!! She is very into the material and is very easy to approach and ask questions. As hard as the class is I highly recomend her
She's super fun and gets you into the class she's really helpful always asks if you have any questions. Take this Class with her she's a blast.
dont waste your time or money taking this class with her, she is very unclear and has no idea how to teach
She's the best stats teacher! she explains everything really clearly. if you pay attention and turn in your homework, you'll do well in this class.
Itsnot her its the class itself. Don't listen to the few who says she sucks cause she doesnt. shedoes a very good job at teaching it But you have to put in the effort to do well. You have to study to do well in this class. If you need help ask her shes more than willing tohelp you or go to the tutoring center. Overall, I recommend.
Great teacher. I was nervous taking stats, but she made it really easy to learn. The book isn't really used unless you want to do recommended homework problems, but are never required. She's very quick in responding to questions and always willing to help out if you have questions.
OKAY FOR ANYONE THAT WROTE ANYTHING BAD ABOUT MS. WALKER MUST BE CRAZY...I AM NOT A MATH MAJOR BUT STILL WAS ABLE TO UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING; SHES THE BEST MATH TEACHER AT MVCC!!! TAKE HER YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!
Boring teacher, even though she gives partner quizes and no hmw, shes very difficult to understand b/c she is WAY TOO FAST!! she never stops talking
Excellent Teacher, very helpful and organized, great usage of power points and blackboard. Great examples, makes the class easy. Group quizzes which are a help, great review sheets for the tests, very knowledgeable and always willing to help.
its a probability and statistics class,of course its not gonna be easy but she made it so much easier to understand.sure she moves kind of fast, but what teacher that teaches upper level classes doesnt.her quizzes are easy.u can work in groups.her test look just like the lectures & quizzes.she offers extra credit on tests & in class. So take her!
Although i failed her class( my fault for not studying), she was a pretty good teacher and i am taking her again. But can someone PLEASE teach her how to use a hair straightener?!?!?!?!
I took her for MTH145 and MTH143 and her class was fairly easy as long as you attend and pay attention. She gives extra credit work in class and group quizzes. She also does a lot of practice problems. She's the best math teacher I've had at Moraine.
Her lectures go at a fast pace, but she does provide good notes and a lot of examples. She is very helpful during and after class. Attend all classes, pay attention and practice the examples she does during class and you will do well. She does give extra credit work in class and group quizzes.
She is very nice, would highly recommend her! Stats isn't always an easy class but she dummies it down for us. She might be fast paced but you can always print out the notes from blackboard. She very helpfull!
I took this class online, and it was terrible. Honestly, she made everything so complicated, and the notes she posted on blackboard were not very thorough. I never fell behind in the class, yet I was constantly confused on what was going on. Maybe she's different if you don't take her online, but I just wasted $416 and 8 weeks of my summer.
She loves prop&stats. You have to attend class to understand it. She lets you work with other people on the quizzes. She dummies it down so you have a better understanding on it. She study guides somewhat go with the tests. Just go to class and try your best and you'll do great!
hard class. quizzes are group quizzes but the tests are hard and you don't use the textbook ever. also shes really weird and likes math way too much
Really like this professor. She posted notes and YouTube's videos for us on blackboard. She responded to e-mails fast. Best online class I took so far. Material is hard, so you have to study. Exam 3 was a take home exam. She was giving extra question for extra points on exams in the testing center.
I DO NOT recommend taking MTH 212 with Walker online. the class is tough. the hw is very easy but the exams without proper classroom teaching are very difficult. If you can, do the campus class and not the online. Jerimi is a very nice lady that's willing to help, but taking an online statistics course is definitly not the best idea
tolerable, somewhat manageable, instructor reasonable for the most part
I took probability and stats (MTH 139) with a teacher here before and got a D. Part of the reason was she couldn't control the class and had a heavy accent. But this semester with Walker is so fun. I actually love going to stats. She explains everything SO clearly. And she always has interesting, real life examples she shows us.
One of the best teachers I've had. Only real problem I had with her is that her grading is very, very strict. You learn a lot in the class, and while the exams and quizzes are hard, she gives you plenty of help with them. Her lectures are always helpful, and never boring. If you really want to learn, take her class, just be ready to work.
If you are worried about taking a probability and statistic class I highly suggest this teacher! She is amazing at explaining things step by step but goes quickly through material so you do not get bored! You will never have to stress out about this class as long as you go to lectures and take notes! Great teacher and wonderful teaching style.
She is a great teacher, has a sense of humor and is very good at explaining things. The class is pretty easy as long as you show up and pay attention. All quizzes are group quizzes and she offers extra credit throughout the semester. Very nice and cares about her students
Linear Algebra: good at explaining, great sense of humor, very enthusiastic- makes class fly by. most homework is optional; you have to thoroughly understand everything covered in class. if u go to her office hrs she clarifies things really well. go to class, make sure you are good with vocab/terminology and turn in things on time if u want an A.
Crystal clear in explaining the material, and has an expert understanding of mathematics in general. She is always willing to go over something in a different way. Tough grader. Cheesy at times. Lectures are fast-paced and have a light, relaxed atmosphere. It's easy to fall behind if you don't attend class, even though she doesn't mark it.
Mrs. Walker is a great, interesting teacher. Although linear algebra is complex, she gave a clear understanding of the topics provided. She occasionally offers extra credit in class and has group quizzes ( you could even work together as class!). She enjoys helping other students and wants you to learn the material in a proper yet fun way.
Great online teacher! Posts notes and videos that make it easy to learn. 3rd exam is take home. She always responds to emails and is very helpful. She posts reviews for the tests which are short but sum up everything you need to know for the test. Access code needed for HW on Pearson MyMathLab. BEST online math teacher.
Ms. Walker is amazing, she is one of the best mathematics professors ive had at Moraine. Discrete Mathematics is a weird thing because its an amalgamation of different areas of math such as probability, graph theory, number theory, proofs, algorithms, propositional logic and more and she made the material really entertaining and easy to understand
Amazing teacher
She makes statistics a piece of cake. She simplifies everything and gives quizzes ( keeps you on track). Best stats professor. I never did the homework and passed the class with a high A
Ms. Walker is so awesome! She makes statistics so easy to understand and is very helpful! There is no homework, gives quizzes and sometimes extra points. I recommend taking her!
Really nice and funny professor that makes probability and statistics comprehensible for most people. I personally suck at math, but Mrs. Walker made learning new concepts easy, so long as you paid attention and took notes. Take this class with a friend, partner quizzes. Do well on the tests and you will pass.
I was recommended to take her for stats and I wouldn't change that at all. Such a nice professor, is there when you need help. I was expecting stats would be really hard but no she made it a lot easier to understand. Her quizzes and practice exam reviews were very helpful for exams!
Best stats professor at moraine. Didn't use the book. Gives sufficient amount of quizzes and study guides for exams. Sets you up for success. Highly recommend!!! A+++ professor
A lot of material to cover in a short period of time. Course moves along quickly. There has to be a lot of time given to the homework and exams. Some feedback is given. The textbook is detailed and requires a lot of study.
Professor Walker is a great teacher. She seems to really care about her students and you can just tell that she truly geeks out over math and stats. She is always willing to answer any question no matter what and answers it to the best of her abilities. She is wonderful!
Definitely do not take their class online. Not only do you have to pay to take the online class she makes you purchase an access code to do your homework online (and extra $100) Seems ridiculous that if she can post her videos on canvas, that she can't make homework free through canvas as well. Feels as though you don't have many resources for help
horrible teacher for online class. She barely goes over anything. She does not realize people in online classes usually work full time jobs. So to run to compass for everything is hard. Especially when her office hours are so limited. I have never received a D and math was always my best subject, but she is terrible at teaching.
I wish I would've withdrew when I had the chance. She goes through material without explaining each step and just expects us to know. Everyone in my class always complained about how difficult it was. I have never even gotten a c at moraine and I got a D in this course.
You won't get much emotion from her but don't let that scare you off. she has a good sense of humor every now and then and is incredibly intelligent over the subject she teaches. You can tell she knows her stuff. Attendance is not mandatory but she doesn't go off of her powerpoints so if you miss class you miss a lot of content.
The first time in years that I learned something new in math. She could elaborate on a few things in her lecture videos, but for the most part they are short and concise. I did get stuck on the homework but re-watching the videos really helped. CAN be hard if you do not have a relatively strong grasp of math principles beforehand.
Took her for business stats online. Dont need textbook!! Class is not easy, but watching all the YouTube videos provided and reading the power points, itll be easy to pass the class.
I have taken MTH-145 with this professor. There weren't any lectures, just Youtube videos to watch and weekly homework. It was very doable and would defiantly recommend Jerimi again.
Her videos assist all homework and exam assignments however, her feedback is poor and her office hours are 1 hour a day from 8-9 AM. Asking a question gets met with a some half-a response about how you're wrong rather than explaining how to actually complete the problem properly. Would not recommend if you want more help than a YouTube video.
Be very considerate of the course code when reading the reviews. This class is a difficult one and I absolutely do not consider taking this professor for it. The only one job she does is posting weekly youtube videos and they are not helpful when you do the assignment. The second thing she does is go tough on grading.
Confusing notes and barely any assignments to buffer out your exam grades. Very strict when grading written responses, and emailing for help gets you a generic one sentence reply that doesn't really help much
Don't expect any feedback or help from her. Emails are replied to with vague answers that are more like "You should be able to get it" rather than real explanations. VERY inconsistent grading and will take points off for things that wouldn't really be known. Takes forever to grade, uploads wrong assignments for you to do sometimes, and long tests.
I would not recommend taking this professor to anyone online. It's hard to get a response from her through email, and responses are minimal and don't help. No lecture videos prepared. The notes are pdfs of powerpoints and written out notes. Inconsistent grader and takes forever to catch up on grading. Gave out an exam without grading the homework.
Linear algebra is already a tough-to-understand subject, but this course didn't make it any easier. There were few assignments to boost your grade, and inconsistent grading was of no help either. With no video lectures and you are required to learn from the textbook, I don't recommend this as an online course if you want to understand the topic.
Her lectures are very informative and she does provide notes for you to follow along with the examples. She does have virtual office hours to help with homework. She also provides extra practice problems which helped me study for the tests
If ever there were a professor to take for Linear Algebra, especially in an online format, it would be Jeremi Ann Walker. Not only did she provide articulate lectures, a healthy amount of reading, and numerous practice problems, but Prof. Walker went so far as to extend EXTRA CREDIT opportunities! Prof. Walker made a literal math god out of me!
Her quizzes were really easy, hw assignments were helpful. Her lectures were short and specific. We didnt use much of the book, her lectures were enough. She takes a long time to email back and grade tests. And shes a tough grader, you really have to pay attention to your work.
Inconsistent grader and feedback nearly never makes sense. Barely assigns anything to help you balance your grade out with the mistakes made on homework and exams. There are no video lectures. The notes are very confusing and rarely helps you understand the lesson and homework.
I would highly recommend Professor Walker! I was hesitant to take a harder math class since I've always been someone who struggled with math but the online modules are very easy to understand and her videos are super helpful. It still requires effort if you want an A, but it's very doable if you stay consistent.
If I can give this professor negative 100 stars, I would. She is an awful professor, does not teach, nor gives a damn about her students. She is the most lazy professor I have ever had. She takes years to respond to an email. She is rude and unpleasant. She posts all the notes in the beginning of the semester and then disappears. Should be fired
Please, for your sanity do not take her under any circumstance. Unless you are an expert in math then go ahead but she is very unhelpful, a very hard grader (barley balances grades), and expects us to understand the subject right away. She is a nice professor but I think she is just too smart for some of us
This class is one of the most challenging classes I have taken, but it is also my favorite. I recommend doing all the suggested problems and going to the office hours for help. Anyone complaining about this class most likely did not put in any effort to learn the material or get help. Professor Walker is an excellent professor!
This class is difficult to get an A+ in if you have actual life responsibilities such as work. However, if you read the assigned sections and do the homework, you will do well. Prof Walker is definitely more passionate about the subject than she is for teaching.
Let me save you guys some time, don't take this class. Literally take any other professor other than her. Save your time and money and please don't waste 1200$ on a class where the teacher doesn't care about you whatsoever.
The professor is super nice and I personally like her. BUT she does NOTTTTT know how to teach !!! She took off about 3-4 weeks since the beginning of the class and she expects us to take all the exams in the last month and a half of the semester. She rushed everything and made us pay for her faults for calling off every single week.
I took her for discrete math in the beginning of fall last year. As far as personality, she is very passionate and inspiration when it comes to math. As far as the course, she isn't easy to understand esp. with a hard class like discrete math. If you do take her I would recommend preparing yourself in the course beforehand and WORK for your grade!!
took her over the summer. lots of extra credit, can work w/ groups during quizzes, lenient grader. All of the test questions seemed directly related to in class examples so it honestly wasn't bad at all. Sometimes she went fast during lectures, but would answer questions if you had any. My only critique would be that she takes very long to grade
I was a little hesitant at first to take her, based on what others had said, but I am glad I did. The reviews that say if you just do your work and pay attention, youll do great, are very accurate. She did call off some days, but it was alright. If you need more help, just go to her or just watch Kimberly Brehm. No curveballs thrown. Lots of EC.
She gets to the point in lectures and tells you everything you need to know for the test. She did call off a couple of days but, it did not ruin the pacing of the course. Lots of EC and if you don't understand, ask her after class.
Professor Walker is a tough grader, but also very clear about what you need to do to meet her standards. Her lectures were very clear and she offered extra credit and where your final score was higher, it could take the place of your lowest test score from the semester. Her grading was so painfully slow though, that I will never take her again.
Awful teacher. Lectures are fast and she takes forever to grade (like months). We didn't even get through some topics because she kept canceling class. Only saving grace was that she offered lots of extra credit.
didn't even show up bad first day
Amazingly sick
ehhhhhhhhhhhh
She was an alright professor. She would respond to my emails way too late and she takes forever to grade. I took my third exam before she graded our homework and exam from the second unit. The work isn't too hard if you follow the notes. Shes clear on what she wants you to do, she just makes it a bit difficult.
I wouldn't take this professor her lectures will leave you confused and shes a very slow grader. However she does give extra credit so you can get a decent grade as long as you're able to teach yourself the material. Otherwise, I would stay away. I literally watched a YouTube course on discrete math to learn everything for this class.
She's honestly not good overall. Quizzes were easy but when it came to the exam it was so hard and nothing you've learned. She gives extra credit but its not even worth taking this class if you want to actually learn something. She also takes a lot of days off so good luck ever asking any questions about any material.
Just an overall terrible teacher, doesn't care about students at all. Grades are slow, she doesn't prepare you well for tests, and she has the class structured in a way that sets you up to fail. Let this be your sign not to take this teacher, even if all other sections are full, it would be more beneficial to wait to take the class.
Walker is a chill teacher, she just does not grade like a normal professor at all.. at the time of writing she hasn't even graded Exam 2 and I just turned in the final, so that should give you an idea of how she grades. She seems to be a little strict so make sure you do the work properly but its not a bad class, do it in person if you can.
I feel the professor was a kind and really good. It's honestly the material she teaches that's hard to grasp. I can't blame her lectures for my lack of comprehension, she did the best she could. MTH215 is not for the weak. I feel she was so lenient & I only passed because of that and extra credit. Quizzes are open note and can be done with others.
Walker is extremely slow at grading—I didn't get my final grade until 3 days after the exam. Before that, 2 of 4 tests and most homework weren't graded. She's also very strict about using her exact methods. Even correct answers can get a zero if done differently. Follow her notes exactly to avoid losing points.
Well I'm just saying don't take her
This professor is not very organized, which made the class more stressful than it needed to be. The tests and due dates were often unclear. The professor also changed to Honorlock testing midway through the semester without much notice or explanation, which was difficult to adjust to. Grading is delayed. Course felt inconsistent and disorganized.
