Great instructor, willing to work with you. He makes the class very interesting. The tests are pretty easy if you just show up to class.

Awesome TEACHER!!! FUN class!!
Cool class. Tests were extremely easy, and projects were relevant.
pretty easy and a lot of fun, show up to class
class was very easy as long as you take good notes.
My favorite prof back when I was at Tech!
He's a great teacher. He's very helpful. He interacts with the class and makes it entertaining.
I really enjoyed Dr. Koch's class. I took his intro to Sociology class and loved it so much, I decided to take his Alchol/Drugs/Society class. He is very insightful and has many great ideas. Highly recommend taking his class...
Awesome
Dr. Koch is one of the best professors I've had at Tech! I took his intro class and liked it, and now I'm taking his Alcohol/Drugs/Society class. His presentation of the material is consistent with his tests, and he makes the course enjoyable. Highly recommend!
He's awesome! He met with me several times in his office hours to go over test questions I missed which helped me improve my grade dramatically. Thanks Dr. Koch, your one of the best teachers at Texas Tech
great teacher. as long as you show up to class you can make it. he gives extra points for attendance and the final is optional if you like your other 4 grades. very entertained and easy to understand...greatest prof ever
Dr. Koch is great! I took his class just for fun and I am really glad I did. It's an easy A if you go to the review session before each test. 5 tests, drops the lowest test grade, attendance bonus up to 10 pts, does take away pts if you miss over 6 or something classes. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!!! Also, no book just readings online.
im a frat/jock.so going to class and enjoying it is a rarity..having said that these are the most insightful lectures i've been too.i actually plan on never missing(plus he gives extra points for going) you wont fail if you just go.tests arent hard even for me. the lecture keeps me awake even after being hungover. ENOUGH SAID. take him he's cool
Great professor, has a nice sense of humor, crystal clear on content and all tests are multiple choice. All lectures are online so if you miss it's okay. I had 10 points off for attendance and still made an A. Overall great for fulfilling core curriculum.
Dr. Koch is a wonderful teacher, he's the reason i decided to major in Sociology. All of his lectures are very interesting and if you miss anything every lecture is online as well as every study guide and additional reading material. His entire test comes from the lecture notes and you get extra points just for showing up!
good teacher, good person, he is up front with his views, kinda liberal which is kinda weird considering his job on the weekends...you will find out he like to keep the secret. he NEVER tries to tell you what to believe he wants you to think, so dont worry. grading is fair and he encourages questions...take him! easy A
This class is so interesting! I'm now majoring in sociology. He's a great professor - no text book, records all his lectures, and gives bonus points for attendance. LOVE IT.
He is the reason I finally as a junior know what I wanna do awesome
Awesome Professor! Drops a test, I dropped the final and didn't have to show up for class for the last couple of weeks. The test are very clear and not hard as long as you go to class, or listen to the lectures that he puts online (but i would go to class, it is worth it). Also no Text book so you save some money!
Good teacher. Easy class. Bonus points if you go to class (+10 if you only miss 2 classes). No textbook. He posts a lecture outline that you fill in and use as a review for the tests. Making flash cards is the best way to study. 5 tests and a final which replaces your lowest grade. I got an A and didn't have to work real hard.
Great professor! One of my favorites here at Tech. He had examples to go with his teachings which helped me. No textbook. Simple tests. Go to class! It's interesting anyways.
Awesome professor!! Would highly recommend his class, his lectures are posted online and there is no textbook either
One of my favorite professors! No textbook needed, he has fill in the blank notes and he is definitely passionate about what he teaches so his lectures are interesting. He's also pretty funny! Highly recommend!
One of the best prof at Tech. Amazing prof, great guy, and interesting class. Looked forward to going to class and ended up with a 104 in the class.
One of the best prof at Tech. Amazing prof, great guy, and interesting class. Looked forward to going to class and ended up with a 104 in the class. Take him!!!
Dr. Koch is by far the best professor on campus. He makes his class interesting so that you want to come. If this class will help get you a credit in any way, TAKE IT!
Koch always has reviews right before his tests that help you through everything. it helps to go to class, but definitely go to the reviews.
Dr. Koch is one of the rudest professors I have had while at Tech. Although he says attendance isn't mandatory, IT IS. Do not miss class because if you are a few points short of an A (like me), he will show no mercy. This class is really boring too, should of taken it with a different professor.
An interesting professor and an even more interesting class. Would go off on tangents every once in a while during lecture, but his stories are always entertaining. Tests are super easy, I would study for them 20 minutes before the exam and make an A. Go to class even if he says it isn't mandatory. Easy A.
my favorite prof at tech so far, very passionate about what he teaches and makes it interesting and fun. drops your lowest test grade, puts lectures online, funny, great reviews, easy tests, all you really have to do is pay attention and you'll do fine!
Easy class, TA's hold review sessions on what's gonna be on the tests. Just make sure you take notes and you'll get an easy A. He's an intelligent guy, although he gets on tangents a lot.
Dr. Koch is great! I took his class last semester and now I'm taking more sociology classes because he peeked my interest.
Dr. Koch really cares about his students. If you are failing, it's because YOU don't care about your own academic success. Dr. K does about as much as he can to help you succeed; if you don't, that's on you *he puts his lectures up on the internet!*. He is the best soc prof in the department. He cares. Only asks that you do too.
No text book, a few online articles, easy tests, and extremely entertaining and fun class! Dr. Koch is hilarious and likes to make the class laugh. Definitely take this class!
BEST PROF I'VE EVER HAD. HE IS JUST AWESOME. TEST ARE SUPER EASY AND LECTURES ARE ONLINE, SO YOU DON'T REALLY HAVE TO GO TO CLASS.
Really awesome!
One of the best professors at Tech. His class is super easy and his lectures are very interesting. As long as you go to class you will get an easy A.
Fantastic class! The tests are super easy if you listen to the lectures, and the lectures are hilarious, interesting and informative all at the same time! They're posted online so it's not a big deal if you miss class, but he does take attendance on 7 random days out of the semester. All the resources you could possibly need are on his website.
If you show up to class you'll pass and make sure you go to all the review sessions because that's what will be on the test!
I never really went to class, the reviews are extremely helpful. If you go to those alone you will make an A easily. Lectures are pretty boring, he rambles a lot. Nice guy though.
I think this guy realizes that a lot of us are required to be there. He makes it very easy to get an A without even going to class. The reviews before the test are all you need. However, I did go to most of his classes and he makes it really interesting and you can tell he is passionate about and good at what he does. Loved this prof.
He rocks
Extra points for going to lectures, but you really wont mind going. He's very interesting, inspirational, and funny. You should always go to review sessions, they pretty much tell you what will be on the test. If you make a high enough grade, you don't need to take the last test. If you want an interesting class, that is also an easy A, take Koch!
You don't even have to go to class. Go to test reviews before test and you'll make an A easily.
Seriously the best professor out there. He puts an effort into every lecture he does and they're all interesting. You don't have to go to class to pass, (just go to the review sessions) but you'll want to. He keeps you interested the whole time. I would definitely take his class again.
He was a great teacher and often clear about what we needed to do. He graded easily and as long as you attend class you will make an A.
He an awesome professor! I wouldn't hesitate to take the course again. He lectures through life examples and comedy. Lectures are clear and as long as you pay attention an A is achievable.
Best class I've taken while at Tech. He's a very funny and easy going guy who makes the class very enjoyable and interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he does give out random bonus points for attending. Always sends thorough emails and is always willing to help. He posts audio recordings of every lecture as well.
He gives some of the best and most interesting lectures I've been to (and wasn't even looking forward to taking this course). He records his lectures and puts them online, so missing class won't kill you; although, with this guy, you won't want to miss class because of how good he is. The best part is that there isn't a book!
Dr. Koch's class was amazing. I would recommend his class to every student because his lectures were funny and inspirational and his tests were also very easy and relevant to his noteslife as long as you went to the reviews as well.
He is my favorite professor! He was intresting, he told stories that followed the lessions, he posted his lectures online incase you missed a class. He gives pop quizes but you can tell when he is going to give it. I always emailed him for help, he was so fun to talk to. He made an impact on my schooling!
will always be indebted to this man to opening my eyes to gender barriers. S/o to you for making me a feminist, Dr. Koch.
Pay attention & you will make an A.
Dr. Koch made me realize that I wanted to be a sociology major. I LOVED his lectures- not showing up means not being inspired.
GREAT instructor. Literally one of the best ones you're ever going to have in college, as far as likability. To be honest, I missed class a lot and still never made lower than a B on any exams. Mostly common knowledge stuff but he made it interesting. Plus, there's no homework. Emails the day before a test so you'll never forget one if you missed.
Dr. Koch is the best professor you will ever meet! Wish I had him all year long!
Best teacher I've ever had. There are 6 tests including the final, but its optional. And there are random attendance grades so go to class.
6 exams total, one gets dropped (it can be the final) 5 random attendance points No Hw aside from random readings Relatively easy exams and an interesting professor. enjoy! :)
Best prof I've ever had. Ever. Made me want to switch my major to Sociology and I was dreading his class. He records lectures and posts online so you can review topics you're struggling with. I really like this guy and wish he taught all my classes. Tests are fair and he really gives you everything you need to succeed.
Great teacher. Favorite so far.
Awesome teach. Lectures were fun and informative.
Koch has seriously been my favorite professor at Tech so far. After 3 years of being a student here, I have yet to find a professor like him. You will not regret taking sociology with him.
Koch was a super cool guy and his lectures were usually pretty fun. He does random attendance days for points and because of that he does not round grades up. If you get a 89, then you get a B for the course.
Professor Koch has by far been my favorite professor at Texas Tech. He gives interesting lectures, so much that I actually look forward to going. He posts lectures online in case you miss one because he actually wants his students to succeed and learn from his class. You can study for an hour before an exam and ace it.
He's awesome. I took this class for fun before I graduated in the 150 hour accounting msa program. If everyone at Tech took this class, Tech would be the most open-minded campus in the state. Take this class. His analysis of society is incredible. I went in a staunch libertarian and left a liberal. I wish I could give him higher than a 5.
The most surprisingly cool professor I've had here so far.
Was a great professor. If you pay attention to the first week of what he says you will be set for the rest of the semester. Tests are so easy. Lectures, to me, were very interesting and thats why I showed up. You can easily miss a class and be fine. If you actually just listen to what he has to say instead of the facts you learn a lot.
Dr. Koch is an amazing professor. He makes the lectures worth going and actually listening! He makes you think and by the end of the course you will be very open-minded about society! He gives out 6 exams one will be dropped (WHICH CAN BE THE FINAL) exams not hard, but you have to study to get a good grade. Would take him again if I could!
Nice professor, lectures are fun and clear. If you get a 89, you end up with B. He takes attendance on any random day. Wish he could change his attendance procedure, it is really stupid. Either take attendance everyday or don't take it all. If you miss 1 day and it's attendance day that day, it means you miss all your attendance points for that week
All his information is out of date. Used a friends notes from 3 years ago and nothing had changed.
He was an amazing teacher! It was the class I looked forward to every week. He gives a deeper meaning the material and goes in depth with it. The tests are very easy if you go over your notes and read some of the articles. Overall, he's a solid choice as a professor, and don't get me started on the dad jokes.
Good professor. Very interesting to listen to. Posts audio files of the lectures online and attendance is not mandatory, although he give sporadic attendance points. Reviews before every test.
An amazing professor. He records every lecture, and posts an audio recording online. He does have a lot of exams, but he holds review sessions before every test and posts that audio recording online as well. He also reviews a little bit the day of the test. Don't text during the lecture, he finds it disrespectful. Overall, he's a GREAT professor.
This is by far the best professor that i have ever had at any school that i've ever attended. If you need a sociology class, not taking Dr. Koch is doing yourself a disservice. He loves what he does, and you can feel it radiate during his lectures. I would take him for every class if possible. Attendance is up to you, each lecture is posted online.
I loved this class, and he made it really interesting which allowed me to think differently about certain issues. I would take this class again it was so enjoyable! There are 6 tests total but only 5 scores are used. He takes participation points randomly throughout the semester but his lectures were so enjoyable that I made it to every class.
By far the best professor I've had since I've been in college, and I wish I could retake him. I ended up being 4 points short of a B in the class, reached out to him and asked if there was anything i could do to raise my grade, and he raised it on the spot. One of the most caring and understanding professors yet, 10/10.
He is very passionate about sociology and makes his lectures interesting. You don't have to go to class because he records his lectures and posts them online, though you can get extra points for showing up on four randomly selected days. Most of his tests come from his lectures, with a few questions from additional readings. Very useful class!
Best professor I have had so far, loved his class. Easy A if you pay attention and take notes during class
Great professor! I learned so much in this class. Honestly, would recommend everyone take it.
Awful. He doesn't use a textbook which means there's a lot of stuff you don't discuss that you otherwise would, which is bad for any premeds taking the MCAT. Has extremely boring stories that don't relate to actual sociology. All he ever does is talk about his research which isn't pertinent to an intro to socio. Basically another polisci/eco class.
Great Teacher and makes the course interesting!
There were 6 tests given, but he dropped the lowest test grade. Attendance was taken randomly, and he posted all of the lecture recordings online. He is very nice and made the class interesting. I would highly recommend him for SOC 1301!
Such a great Prof. He is clear with both materials and grading criteria. Offers extra reviews before tests (which are all multiple choice), and does great at engaging students during lectures. MAKES YOU THINK FOR YOURSELF!!!
Funny professor with good lectures, which he records and puts online. Relates everything to religion, more specifically Christianity.
He's super funny and really understanding about things. Does cool magic tricks before every exam and also does a review session before the test where he goes over everything in the notes which he makes for you.
Great professor
Best proffesor I've had at Tech. He has fairly easy tests and takes attendance only 4-5 times. Should be an easy A for anyone.
Dr. Koch (pronounced "cook") is a great professor. He is very organized. His website is very helpful - it has all the notes, extra reading links, and audio files of his lectures. There is no textbook. His lectures are very memorable and interesting. He may insert his personal opinion, but he does not force it on you. TAKE HIS CLASS!
I loved Dr. Koch's Intro to Sociology class! Lectures are posted online, making it easy to catch up if you miss class. The course overall was fairly simple, but was extremely interesting. Dr. Koch is hilarious and definitely knows what he's talking about. Even though attendance isn't necessarily required, I still highly recommend going to class.
Great Professor, interesting lectures, gives you a drop test grade (which can be used on the final). As long as you show up and listen, the tests are easy and the class is an easy A.
You have to work for an A if that's what you're are aiming for. There are 5 'GA Assignments' at randomly chosen dates in class, each worth 4 points. Every test is 50 points with 2 extra credit questions in each. The tests are set up in the same way so just go through the study guides and you'll be good. I never did the readings and still did good.
Dr. Koch was an amazing professor and lecturer and taught the material very well. The class was very interesting and insightful. Make sure to take good notes and attend class for the most part since he takes random attendance.
Really cool professor, and tests are relatively easy! Just make sure you take very detailed notes, thats all the tests are based off of.
If you are a republican, BEWARE. He is as far left as you can go which can be quite annoying. Nevertheless, he is an alright professor due to his weird rants about society and placing the blame on right-winged ideas. He is very "by the book". and doesn't care if you are late due to an emergency.
BY FAR THE BEST PROFESSOR I'VE HAD THIS SEMESTER ! Very insightful and has ALOT to offer students ! Attendance is not mandatory however he does five random GA point throughout the semester. GA points total to 20 points which can make or break your grade ! Open minded and considers the ideas of others
Really nice dude. I enjoy coming to this class. The lectures are guided notes and he is good about relating the topics to life. The exams are not bad, all multiple choice. He gives extra credit, but you have to be in class to get the points. There are readings, but I've never done them and I still do fine. TAKE THIS CLASS
Fantastic professor and always had a great spirit.
Dr. Koch is extremely smart and knows what he's talking about. His lectures were interesting and kept my attention for the full hour and a half. All his lecture reviews are on quizlet and are very helpful for the exams, I never took notes because they were so good. If you can find kimfunk on quizlet, you can't fail.
Man. This guy is freaking amazing. I would totally take again just for the enlightening topics discussed, but I love sociology. Changed the way I think and see the world. HIGHLY encourage going to the review sessions the day before, because they are the bomb for almost exactly what is on the test, would have had an A if I figured that out sooner.
Loved Professor Koch, great lectures and a really enjoyable class! get ready to study fro exams only, but if you get the lectures it does not make it difficult its just simple understanding the material. highly recommend this class
Professor Koch is a great teacher with a sense of humor! He records all his lectures so if you ever miss a class, you can catch up and take notes on your own. He also drops 1 test, usually your lowest test grade or if you miss a single test, it wont count against you! He doesnt require a textbook and has all his readings on his personal website
I love this class so much. Dr. Koch is an amazing professor. He records all his lectures and posts them but he takes attendance randomly and uses that as extra credit. You should come to class anyways cause its worth the hour and ahalf sitting there and listening. Take good notes since tests are lecture based and there's no powerpoint, just audio.
He is amazing! The lectures are interesting and the exams are pretty easy if you study the lecture notes. I really enjoyed this class, so if you have the choice, take sociology with him!
This is the best class I've ever taken, he really loves what he's teaching so you eventually love it. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I never wanted to miss his lectures because they were so compelling and funny! There's no textbook, and it's super easy with the note guide he provides to make an A.
Dr. Koch is the best professor that I have ever had. He is incredibly inspiring and his lectures are as real as it comes. I love him to death. He randomly takes attendance however it's possible to never go and get an A. Tests are super easy, make sure to use quizlet and it'll be hard to not get an A. He records all his lectures too!!
Koch is a good professor to take as an entering freshman, he is very funny and knows how to keep a lecture interesting. His tests are very easy if you go to the reviews and look over your notes.
Easy class, but your grade mostly comes from exams. He posts the lecture outline on his website for each section, so you essentially just fill in blanks as he talks. (And test questions pretty much come directly off the outline) A few questions come off of the weekly reading.
Very easy grader almost always get 100s on take home written exams. Had lots of readings but can be done if you dont wait last minute. he mainly cares that you are learning something and thinking about. This was a upper level class over religion and society so maybe a bit different then soc1301 but i would take again.
Dr. Koch is an amazing professor, you can tell he is truly passionate about what he is teaching. Your grade consists of exams and on random days he will have an "Abbott" day, where you'll get credit for doing a short/easy assignment for being in class. Make sure to take notes, and attend class if you expect to do well on the exams!
If you want to do good in the class, go to lecture or listen to his recordings. Test are just lecture based. Theres extra credit he gives at random times, so you need to be in class to get the credit.
Dr. Koch is an amazing professor! If you need to take SOC 1301 I would highly recommend trying to get Dr. Koch! For every unit he provided an outline on his website which you would fill out during class, you could then use this as a study guide for the tests. Kept the class well engaged and made sure to answer any last minute questions before exam!
Koch is an amazing professor and always ensures his students understand the material! He always keeps the class engaged with his life stories or his magic tricks, overall just a great professor!
By far, the best professors I've had at Tech. He makes his lectures interesting and uses great examples and life stories to explain concepts. His lectures will make you want to go to class. Very charismatic guy with a good personality, and a pretty darn good magician. I strongly recommend Taking Dr Koch for SOC 1301, you will not regret it!
Professor Koch is such a chill guy who gives some really interesting lectures. The tests aren't hard, but they make you think a little. Attendance is taken randomly and used as credit but you can get an A without great attendance.
Doctor Koch is the best Texas Tech has to offer! His lectures are always amazing, because he is so passionate about what he does. His tests are a little hard, just always go to the review and you'll do fine.
First test is the hardest. He tells a lot of stories, but they help you remember the content. He drops the lowest test grade. Five random days are taken for attendance. No extra credit, no textbook needed. He presents sociological topics while relating to the liberal side of the spectrum, but is also a preacher. Weird combo, but would take again.
I showed up to class only for the tests. Find the quizlets for each unit and you'll pass with High A
I took intro level Sociology with him and here's what I'll say. It's an interesting class and you definitely will learn a lot about the world around you and professor Koch is pretty funny. However, a lot of it is common sense, I never studied for tests and made A's and being a former priest his talks tend to get very focused on religion.
He knows his sociology and is a well respected professor at TTU. Dr Koch is very funny and his exams are fair if you listen to lectures. Attendance isn't mandatory and lectures/ readings are online (no textbooks!) however Greg Abott points are used as attendance and pop up randomly so if you miss class, you might miss 4 points off your total grade
Best Professor Ive had at Texas Tech! His lectures are long but he makes them super interesting. As long as you listen and take good notes in class, its should be an easy A.
He gives very interesting lectures! This class challenged some of my viewpoints in a good way and changed how I see some things. He drops the lowest test and has a few days where you can get attendance points. I never did the readings and still got As. I would recommend this class to anyone!
Sociology 1301 was one of the easier classes I had freshman year. If you study the test are pretty straight foward and he ends up dropping a test so you have room to mess up. All his lectures are online and attendence is not mandatory so you don't really need to show up to class but he sometimes does extra credit for attendence. Overall easy class.
This was one of the most enjoyable classes I took in my first semester. Dr. Koch is one of the most funny and interesting teachers Ive ever had, and he always finds ways to make his lectures enjoyable. He provided outlines for the notes, so as long as you come to class, he basically hands you the test material. Highly recommend taking this class
Dr. Koch is easily one of the best professors Ive had. I took his Intro to Sociology class and enjoyed each and every lecture. Hes very knowledgeable and loves what he does. Attendance is somewhat required as he selects only a few random days that will count for a grade. Very easy A if you listen and take notes during the lectures.
Take his class!
Dr. Koch is an amazing professor who cares about his students success. He takes attendance randomly 5 times throughout the semester and it counts for 4 points. I had a Cardiologist appointment on a day he took attendance and he gave me the points anyway when I gave him my Dr. note. Just make sure you read the readings that go along with his lecture
Tells lots of jokes and does magic tricks to help ease stress before tests!!
Dr. Koch cares for his students and wants each of them to succeed. He offers extra credit and the homework is fairly easy and minimal homework. I would take this class again and would recommend him to everyone. He is a great professor and makes lectures interesting by incorporating personal stories, magic tricks, and dad jokes. You wont regret it!
Had to take this class online due to COVID and it was Dr. Koch's first time ever teaching online, but he did amazing and was incredibly understanding. Does his best to make lectures as interesting as possible and to give the best opportunity to make a good grade. Classwork is pretty simple, just watch the lectures. He also gives easy extra credit.
The class was very easy and informative. All you have to do is watch the lectures and you will pass, he even gives you extra credit.
Amazing professor! Lots of extra credit given!
Never thought watching online lectures could be entertaining until I had Dr. Koch. His personality flows through the screen. The grade is pretty test heavy, but there is an extra 10% of possible extra credit. The tests aren't difficult. He starts every lecture with a dad joke. Really helpful in emails, truly the definition of a great professor.
Koch is a true gem with the way he does his lectures & his grading criteria. You can tell he puts in a lot of effort into his recordings & tries to make them interesting. He is funny & helps find ways to help you better understand the material. It does take some work to get an A, but not too much effort is required.
Dr. Koch is a phenomenal professor. First of all, gotta love the dad jokes. His lectures are great because he provides an outline of what the lecture will cover. The work load in this course is small compared to others as there were only lecture quizzes (optional), mini essays, and the exams.
I give Professor Koch is an a 10/10. There are 2 lectures a week which will not only help you grasp the material, but will help you with receive NECESSARY points for assignments and extra credit. Extra credit AKA lecture quizzes are optional, but should be taken advantage of. They help boost the grade. He is a very friendly man & wonderful teacher.
He is absolutely amazing. I had to take this class online, but really wish i could have in person. He is very caring and makes his lectures very interesting and easy to listen to. He offers a lot of extra credit opportunity and you can tell he truly cares about his students success. Would absolutely recommend this class.
love this guy
Just great
He is an amazing professor. If you have the chance to take this class, do it. His lectures are incredible and I loved going to his class. His tests are open note and online and he gives many extra credit opportunities. You can tell he enjoys teaching this class and that makes this class awesome.
Dr. Koch is one of the best professors that I have ever had the pleasure to learn from, he truly cares about his students. He started his classes with a dad joke and a magic trick, and on test days he would teach us a magic trick. He gave a lot of extra credit, I even missed a test completely (my fault), and with the extra credit I still made an A.
- Great teacher - 6 Tests (fairly easy if you actually understand the concepts, online) - 4 written responses (3 sentences) - 5 LQ (Extra Credit Quizzes - 4 questions each)
the best professor in the world. You ca never get bored of his class; impossible. He teaches excellently and cares about his students. Would take this class over and again if I could. Easy A if you attend his classes and grasp the concept
Simply put, a fantastic teacher with a very apparent love for what he teaches
A great professor, lectures are always interesting and the exams are very easy, you'll enjoy going to class, take him.
Koch is such a fun professor! Lectures are not mandatory but they are so interesting and intriguing to attended. Exams are straight forward and assignments are usually asking about you and your experience in life.
Highly recommend him! Complete the material he gives and you will be good!
Professor Koch's class is engaging and rewarding. Lectures are optional but valuable - and supplemented by helpful resources like unstuck AI. Exams are straightforward, and the extra credit opportunities make this an accessible yet enriching course.
Great class, lectures are amazing and make you want to go to class. I have not missed a class by choice. His tests are easy and online on blackboard. He makes the class hard to fail with all the extra credit he throws your way. If you can take him.
AMAZING!!!
He was a good professor, sometimes he would do magic trick or jokes to open up the lecture. All the assignments and tests were online. Easy class to take. Didn't do attendance, but would do password protected extra credit quizzes that were only handed out in class.
I always looked forward to attending Professor Koch's lectures. He always started his lectures with corny jokes that still lightened the room up. Aside from his goofy side, he is a brilliant man and allowed me to notice things I never really thought about before. I would love to take another class with him as my professor.
The lectures themselves are quite bland and the professor seems quite narcissistic, talking about himself quite a bit and also manipulating people's original ideas so that their thoughts no longer reflect their own, but his instead. Not even sure if he completely reads essays or if he just circles random words and draws a check mark next to it.
He was a fantastic professor. When I attended classes, he was very engaging. The assignment, but as long as you go over the given materials, you will be fine. Be transparent with him, it could be difficult, will cut slack. Do not but the textbook!
