You know what, all you have to do is go to class and take some notes...he gives you a study guide...how easier can it get! yes it's boring, but hey he's the only teacher available, take the class. if you study you will get atleast a B

I consider this a good class to take overall, but the lectures are fairly boring. The material is interesting, but I would recommend studying online and through the book as your main sources of info. The tests are average in difficulty but he grades easy.

You never have to go to class because all his notes are on line. Pretty easy A just make sure you visit the book website. Grade is based soley on tests. Just study the notes online.

He means SO well...he is kinda silly, always cracking corny jokes, but he is a great guy. He posts EVERY SINGLE LECTURE on the internet...I have gone to class two times (not counting tests...)He gives reviews for each test, DEF. TAKE THIS CLASS FOR GE!!!

BEST CLASS EVER. NEVER HAVE TO GO B/C ALL NOTES ARE ONLINE. ALSO, AN 80% IS AN A-. DEFINITELY TAKE THIS CLASS FOR GE.

Man, this class is SO EASY! Lectures are pretty boring however. The grading scale is crazy. 82% is like an A- and a 66% is a B. A definite must take for GE. Also, you don't have to attend class at all, except for the days on tests and that's it.

I fell asleep in class every time, but I still got an A, just read over the study guide he gives before the tests a couple of times and you should do fine. His grading scale is awesome..82% ann up is A. Also he uses like 2/5 of the practice questions on his tests, so I just copied all of them in 4 font and put them on the 3x5 notecard

Very easy class, def. take for a GE. 2 Tests, gives out a studyguide which is almost exactly the same as the test and lets you bring a notecard. Attendance is not required and he posts every lecture online. Highly recommended!

Ok, this prof is the bomb for this class. Even though it's pretty boring however, it's an easy B if you work hard. Easy homework, 2 tests and that's it. NOtes are online and you are not required to attend class at all, except on test days. Don't need the book for questions, just get borrowed from someone else or go to book store to look it up.

This class is so easy. Only go on thursday cause that is when he collects the homework and as long as you try you get full credit. The questions are really easy. His grading scale rocks! an 87 is an A. The lectures are really boring, but don't go cause all the notes are online. The test are pretty hard, but you get a note card. Take this class

This is a must take EASY G.E. homeworks are easy 1 qustion assignemnts, 2 tests, allows notecard. Tests are tricky, but nothing hard at all. Lectures are boring, however he does not take attendance. Also all notes are online, so print them out. Don't really need book. An A = 87%.

Sit in the back and play PSP like me and my friend. Just make sure you do the notecard for the test, if you sit in the back you can use like 100 cards. Easy B if you don't try.

This guys is the bomb!! Even though lectures are boring and it's hard to get an A on the test, however, the grading curive is crazy!! A = 87%. Attendance is not mandatory except for just 2 tests. This is definite teacher to take for GE and he's way better than any other Astr 101 teachers as well.

out of all the professors hes the BEST, even though hes REALLY BORING! Uses powerpoint, posts it online, attendance not mand. He's a really nice guy & the huge curve, helps you a LOT. Recommended over all others.

Professor is very boring, but the good side to this class is that he posts notes online and he gives studyguides (very similar to test) before each test. 10homeworks, takes the top 6! And also curves

He is a cool prof. His lectures are bland, but if you're interested in astronomy, you'll like them anyway. You can tell he's extremely intelligent and knows exactly what he's talking about. Also..before exams, he gives out "sample exams"...which are VERY useful, and outlines..of whats going to be covered. Plus, like a 86% is an A...c'mon..he rocks.

This class is awesome. I never went to class, only to turn in homework and on exam dates. If you go the class before the exam, he passes out Sample Exams and Lecture Notes. They are very helpful. Memorize the answers and you will get a B-.

Very easy class, recommended it to everyone I know. During the whole semester I think only one person raised their hand, and I think it startled him, threw him out of his "groove". Anyway, good class to sleep through, easy A (80 = A-). Sample tests make it even easier. Homework is simple.

He's a man of astronomy!!!!!! (whatever that means)...........the tests are very hard, some of the questions come from the book website, 3 tests, and the class is curved, 90%= A, 85-89=A-. IF YOU ARE A PERSON THAT LEAVES IN MIDDLE OF HIS CLASS EVERYDAY< YOU"RE VERY RUDE! 50 people everyday leave, they are so rude.

Great class to take if you have a heavy course load. He is a very knowledgeable professor.

Good guy, never misleading. Random attendance taking for points. All info can be downloaded on-line, making tests easy to prepare for.

Very easy class. Huge curve. Assigns ~10 hmwk but only counts 4. Notes/lecture online. Gives out sample exams. To get an A and dont want to study do this: go to class (at least a majority of the time), do his sample exams, go to office hours (2) times before test and he'll tell practically everything and read his chapter summaries. EASY A.

Very Easy. This is the man for ASTRO. If u dont care about 5% of your grade dont go to class. Or if u do care, go for the first 15 minutes then leave after he pases out the sign in sheet. Just study the study guide and you are set for an easy B. Also has an awesome generous curve. And he post the PP online so review those before the test.

Super easy class. Attendence is worth 5% of class, but the 75 minute section gets painfully boring, and you can still get an easy A or B in the class without going to class at all. Study the review sheets before the tests and you're money.

Very nice guy. Very helpful if you go to his office hours. Easy (but very boring) class with a huge curve. All his lecture slides are posted online so it's not mandatory to attend class. Does give some attendence points though.

He's a very nice prof. Replies emails promptly. Wears the coolest shirts. His lectures are kind of boring, but the powerpoints are really helpful. You don't have to write anything down because he makes the notes available online. Tests are like the practice tests he hands out. And he curves the grades

soooo boring! but he is a very nice man. the subject is interesting and he does try. I studied a lot of each test and they are hard, even though he gives you a lot to study with. But, he has a HUGE curve on all the test. I recommend this class.

Hes tha cutest man ever... he wears hawaiian shirts everyday and i thot he was kinda funny... rarely takes attendance but going does help and if you study his notes before tha test ull at least get a B or so... take this prof if ur taking atro

idk what everyone is talking about, this class was cake, i went to 4 or 5 classes all semester and ended up with a B. (would have had an A but i bombed the final) just study the practice tests like crazy and you're money. he's pretty cool yet kinda boring, but like i said, if u go to one class a week its an easy A

Orosz knows that 90% of the class isn't interested in Astronomy. He gives HUGE curves. Very helpful if you actually talk to him after class. Make sure you do 4/10 homeworks. And get at least 10 sign-in attendance points. Studying will help, too!!

This guy is probably the smartest guy I have ever met. He is currently apart of the Kepler spacecraft telescope mission Nasa is doing to find habitable planets. No homework which is a plus. Mid terms are hard and you will think you will C the course but end up w/ a B, B+ or A- because he curves. Tests are KINDA unpredictable, but i learned so much!

He's a great professor. Very knowledgeable in the field and knows what he's talking about if you truly listen. You have to be interested in the subject. If not, make sure you go to office hours, and do the homework and read the textbooks cause the lectures aren't easy to stay attentive to. He's a reasonable grader and means well. Take him!!!

I thought he was funny! no one ever laughs at his joke though ): he is well-meaning and cares for his students. he's a genuinely sweet professor. lectures are dry, but he provides all the material you need for the test. i personally enjoyed class but many others disagree. sign in sheet at end of class, curves tests, easy class

i LOVE Jerry. He's such a great dude. He has a very dry sense of humor that definitely goes under appreciated. I go to his classes for a fun time to be honest, since there's no real use in taking notes- he kind of goes through slides fast. He's talked about his cat, showed us videos of a panda eating bamboo, and loves squirrels. TAKE HIM :D

Prof Orosz was a great teacher. He is fairly laid back, and talks kind of quietly, but he is good at presenting the material, which is extremely fascinating. The tests aren't too hard, and the weekly assignments are incredibly easy. If you enjoy astronomy, you should definitely take him!

Jerry Is an awesome professor. I took him for intro to the stellar graveyard and it was a great class. I'm interested in astronomy, and taking this class only furthered my interest as he is super smart and can answer any question. Took him spring 2020 so it was half in person and half online, and his online lectures were a treat to go to.

Took his class Spring 2020 fully online. He's very respectable and definitely knows the content he's teaching. The class I took (Stellar Graveyard) is very broad and contains some difficult concepts. Orosz has a very... specific... dry type of humor but I found him funny still. Beware that the writing assignments are easy but tests are hard!!

A fine professor. Good info, notes available online, talks about Sci-Fi, and gives a study guide before exams. The AC Unit in the class is QUITE LOUD. Exams are fair but require some real-time thinking. Memorization isn't enough. Homework takes an hour or two a week (definitely should not be skipped). Recommend doing Extra Credit when possible.

He's exams are hard, but he's super nice. He loves to shows his cats every lecture (online). He talks low which is hard to understand but he posts the lectures and recorded zoom sessions on canvas.

He can be a little boring at times if you are not into astronomy but he is a great professor and he tries to make some jokes in his lectures. He is fast at responding to emails and very helpful.

jerry is the absolute sweetest professor ever. he shows us his cat cam every class so we can see his cat. so precious. the class is a little challenging, very lecture heavy so make sure to take good notes. the tests are kinda tricky bc there are open ended questions, but he offers a lot of extra credit so it isnt hard to pass the class.

This teacher is great and he knows the subject very well. I loved this class and as long as you go to class or watch the lectures, you are good for the tests!

He is an amazing person! I didn't do so well in the class mainly because I did not put my best effort. He's very helpful once you reach out for help he is also very passionate about astronomy which makes some of the lectures pretty heavy. As long as you pay attention review your notes and actually put some effort on the hw you should be good!

Kinda lecture heavy and there are times where it can be kinda boring, however, as long as you take notes you'll be completely fine for the class. You're allowed to bring a cheat sheet for tests which is really helpful but you don't really know your grade the whole semester so if you want to know that then take someone else.

Hes a nice guy but the subject is pretty boring and its just lectures every class. His grading is super lenient though, you only have to complete half the homework for 100% and his grade scale is 50% is a C so its very easy to pass if you try a little.

The class is a bit dry, but the professor is super helpful. Attend lectures, use the textbook, and try unstuck AI - it really helped with study prep. Overall, an easy A if you put in the effort.

His lectures were funny but most people wont get his humor. During the lectures he might show us his cats if they decide to visit. By attending the lectures you get extra points by taking a quiz. Not every lecture has one though. Weekly one page homework's were easy and interesting. Tests were time consuming due to short answer questions
