Lectures are kind of boring- really nice teacher.
Excellent class participation. He knows his material and relays it well. If you read the book (very good) then you'll have no problem. Straight forward tests(Mult.Ch.) You'll want to go to this class. Very helpful and tests your knowledge very fairly.
His class was simple, but his personality is FUNNY Tests come from notes and a little from the book, either way class is pretty basic.
Took him for Terrorism and CJ Systems. Boring lectures but the tests come 98% from the book. As long as you read and do the paper you will get a good grade in this class.
Very easy class, tests come straight from notes, lectures are boring so do not take hime early in the morning.
awesome professor
He kinda preaches but i like it. The Reverand Randall
There is a lot of material to be covered, he tries to relate everything to real life situations so that you understand them better. The tests are hard you have to understans the concepts and be able to apply them. Overall good class
Great teacher. Helps whenever it is needed. Recomend him for anyone
The "Reverend" Randall. Very easy class. Sometimes he yells and kinda'flips out but means no harm(military thing). He also doesn't speak well. Very nice man, funny, and his tests are straight from notes-very easy. You may not learn too much
Rocks, he is interesting in a funny kind of way. Very respectful, you can either study from the book (all notes are directly from it) or his notes, you really don't have to go to his classes, do the project it much easier than the paper, 80 question test
He is a sweetheart but i have to say he's kind of stupid. Great guy and class isn't too hard and pretty entertaining. I'd recommend him. Not very well spoken and does preach, at times he gets loud and it makes u laugh!
He is the best professor that I have had at this university. He cares and will help you in any way he can even in an advisory roll. Take all the classes that you can with him. Word for the wise if you take notes and listen you will have a great time and
Very Very nice teacher and you learn a lot. Notes are unnessacary ... read the book and you'll get an "A" on the tests. Takes attendence but I went to class maybe once a week and still got a "B"
Definitely recommend this teacher. Class isn't difficult and he does offer an extra credit paper. I do agree that he is a "reverend" at times and also mumbles sometimes, but overall he is fun and cares about his students. I'm taking him again
Really nice guy, we either had to write a 7 page paper or do a group presentation. Don't really need the book just the class notes. He really does sound like a "reverend" but its kind of funny.
Class is pretty easy!! HE takes attendance but you can miss some days. Just get notes from the library and study you should do fine. Oral presentation is very easy. I suggest you do it over the paper, he grades so easy!
Nicest guy ever. I missed the final cause i'm an idiot & wasn't paying attention to when it was, and he let me take it late in his office with the other kids who actually had excuses. He could have easily failed me.
Nice guy, very helpful. Easy class, takes attendance but yo ucan miss some days. Definately do group presentation over 7 page paper. Multiple choice tests-read the book and you'll do fine.
95 on 95!--loved him
Excellent Instructor. All you have to do is read the book and show up to every class. Gives extra credit. Tells you where to concentrate on in the book for the exam. Easy. All you have to do is be on time to every class, listen, and participate. A very fun and exciting class. A model professor
good guy, lectures straight from the powerpoint which is straight from the book, no need to take notes, just bring a highlighter on review day. skim the book before the lecture. tests are straight from the subtitles of the book. its pretty damn boring and always late bc lives far away
his notes are from the book and that is what is on the test. and attendance counts
Online course.. do the work and the project not at the last minute and you will be fine.
Mr. Randall is my ideal of a great criminal justice Professor. For those of us that will continue or enter law enforcement as practitioners, learning from him is fascinating because he couples theory with real world concepts. I have learned a lot from him and really admire him as an instructor.
Good teacher, lectures from book- gets a bit boring, big project to do at the end
He is a nice guy. He helps you out if you go up to him and ask. His assignments and tests are easy if you do them. I had an issue with his online course...I wrote down the dates on a calendar for when the assign. were and I always was a day late b/c the date I wrote down was diff from the actual date. Kinda shady, I'm still pissed about it.
He is super nice. willing to help if you ask for it. Willing to provide extra credit if need be. 3 exams in the class. final not cumulative. A research paper, and a project on a movie. Definetely a professor to take.
Very good instructor. Straight forward and to the point. I had this class on-line and it was by far one of the easiest on-line courses I have had thus far. The material was interesting and Mr. Randall's attitude made it managable and enjoyable. I highly recommend him.
Class was easy, prof was a jerk.
Terrorism with Prof Randall was great. He comes off a bit harsh at the start of the semester but he really is a very fair professor. Read the text for class and study the power point notes for the test. I learned alot in his class and wish I could take another terrorism class offered by him.
Mr. Randall is amazing. His class was a lot of fun, and incredibly interesting. He uses his experience (ex. military) to help you see the real deal, not just dry textbook material. The class was fairly easy, but that could be because he was willing to stay after every class to explain anything to you. I wish he taught more classes.
3 80 question exams, a paper or presentation (u get 2 choose), and a short paper on 9/11 u have to do...dont really need the book b/c his notes are the test...if u dont go 2 class it will be ruff, but if your there its a easy B at the least...cool guy too
As long as you show up, Write the small paper in response to the video and do good on your project or group presentation you will do fine. I never did that great on his test but got all the points for everything else and got an Easy B in the class. I am sure if i actually read the book since his notes were from it i could have gotten an A.
He gives you the power point notes, but A LOT of them. Test questions are kind of tricky all multiple choice. He is definitely always there for his students, asks constantly for students to come and speak to him if they have any issues with the class- haven't seen any other teachers do this. There is a paper as well as a paper or project also due.
Good professor to take. Test are a little tricky, with a few trick questions in there but does a good job in pointing out those questions in his notes, good review for the 3 test, papers are easy, or if you decide to do presentation grades it easy. EXTREMELY Helpful and likes the job that he does
I've had Mr. Randall for 4 classes so far and he is a pretty decent teacher. The class is extremely easy, just do what he asks of you and don't be late. He expects you to do what he asks and unapproachable for additional help for your slacking. He teaches straight from the book and the assignments are easy. An easy A.
Took online for White Collar Crime. Each chapter had an easy discussion posting and there were 3 exams and 1 group project. They tests were pretty fair (for online, would have been very hard if taken in a classroom with no book) and the group project took about 10 minutes when we split it up. Also, he replied to emails within 24 hours.
Not clear, he runs off on his life stories, his study guide consisted of reading the entire chapters. I would not recommend this instructor.
First thing about taking Randall is you have to pay attentiopn, or who knows what you might miss. The tests arent that hard, if you study. The class helped bring up my GPA, and I consider myself a mediocre student.
The class is pretty straight forward...I never read and still got a B taking it on-line...I'd imagine if you try you can easily get an A
i would recommend this teacher.
this class was pretty easy all you had to do was attend class and pay attention. the book is a must in this class all his test questions come from the test and although his review is to basically study the chapters he tells you what sections to really look at and if hes nice what paragraphs. simply put hes loud but good. i would take him again
Not my favorite teacher. The class is easy and straighforward enough but Randall himself is annoying to listen to, he asks questions that no one knows, then gets pissed when no one speaks up, or is condescending when you try to answer it and fail. Buy the book, he goes over each page and paragraph you need to know before each exam...
Not too bad of a teacher. gives a review before each test. 2 papers but not that hard i got an A on both and did them in one night. as long as u do the review before the tests u'll do fine, an A orB
The only problem I had with this class is there are way too many notes, because his tests are way too long(80mc), and all of his notes, plus more, are on the tests. He has a I know everything kind of attitude, which can be annoying, but he generally is pretty cool. If you pull a moderate grade on the tests an A is very achievable.
Took this course online. 3 exams (mult. choice) and a group project. Read the assigned readings and study power points (posted) and you should do fine. He also assigns modules, which are very easy. My exam avg. was an 88, but the modules helped me get an A. Easy class if you study, do the modules and do your part of the project.
Took class online- Pol. & Soc.found it to be really easy. 1 group project, 2 or 3 exams. Modules are easy just express your opinion respectfully and honestly and back it up. notes are helpful & book index was great.
Took online course. Course was organized and I understood what was expected of me. 3 tests and 1 group assignment with weekly discussion postings. I would definitely take this professor again.
Clear instructions and expectations. If you follow his instructions and do the work you will do great. The exams are okay - the text is very good and the index is invaluable.
Grading for this class consisted of attendance (which you don't have to pay attention), a 5 question work sheet, 3 tests and either a group project or a research paper. Awesome guy. Really down to earth. If you must take this class, make sure its with this guy.
Took an online class with him. Pretty easy class. 3 modules and 3 tests. Keep up on your work and you should do fine. I would definitely take another class with him.
Great class and very informative for core class. Laughed a lot during lecture at statements made while teaching. Class consisted of 3 chapter tests (which review is pages in book to study 80 ?'s multichoice/t&f), a 5 question paper (personal view),and either a Oral Presentation(group) or a research paper (single) Highly recommend taking him again
Awesome teacher, he takes attendence but you dont have to even listen in class, I missed class and he printed up the section of powerpoints for me, ask for help and he will help. have to write two papers, and three tests which arent difficult, he gives you the EXACT question and page numbers on the test. def will take him again
3 tests, 5 question worksheet and a 7 page research OR a group presentation. Go with the presentation, much easier. Cool teacher. Helpful reviews before the test. Got a B without much effort.
Def need to take this teacher !! he is very helpful and down to earth. If you need help he will go above and beyond what you most teachers will
Professor Randall was the best, classes are VERY interactive and engaging, and he gives a very thorough exam review on every Exam...3 exams, 1 5-question paper, 1 research paper OR group presentation...pay attention and show up and youll Pass ez.
Takes his time grading , put I did learn a lot and would take him again.
Easily one of the best professors I've had at UCF so far. He's crystal clear in his lectures and tells you exactly what parts of the book to read for the tests. Three tests throughout the semester, one short assignment based on in class video, and a research paper due at the end of the year. Highly recommend.
Smart professor, knows the subject material very well. Attending class is recommended, note taking not necessary. Tests are usually from the book but he will tell you exactly what to study in class
Took online. 3 tests, 1 group project, & 6 modules. Did not provide any guidance to prepare for tests (70% of your grade-no study guide just PowerPoints which were not helpful. His communication was good but came off as rude. Would not take him again.
Good Professor, Would take him again, and classes are educational. 3 tests, 1 5-Q, and a presentation or paper. If you want to do well in his class do your work, pay attention, read chapters, and show up to class. Can be tough on grammar. Be prepared to learn in his class! Requires participation! Will tell you what will be on the test! :)
Don't be fooled, this class is NOT an Easy A. A lot of the test comes from the book, and the PPT are just so he can "stay on topic". He does know his information and the class is interesting, but it's challenging
3 tests, one projects, several assignments. Very easy grader, must read the textbook, but other wise great class. Would take this professor again.
I took Randall online. There are 3 exams, discussion assignments and one group assignment. If you don't read the chapters you will NOT pass the exams and he only gives you 60 minutes to answer 50 questions which I felt rushed every single time! Power points were useless. I would not take him online again!
3 exams covering 5- chapters at a time. Very detailed discussions required 1 group project. Powerpoints are no help. Emails back are very slow and he is very strict with grammar. Test are out of book, but hard to find answers.
Easily structured class. Easy to get an A if you do everything you're supposed to. Have taken before and will take again.
Super easy class if you have the book and read the chapters! Very detail-oriented and studying for tests are definitely a must. I took him Summer B online. We had a midterm & final and four discussion posts. Discussion posts are very lengthy and must have enough information to make sure you understand the concepts exactly. Very interesting class!!!
I was very impressed by his feedback and teaching methods. I would definitely take his class again--class was educational and fun! Loved the group project!
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Tests are worded very weirdly and cant understand the questions. Takes a while to grade and does not give clear feedback. Ended with 89 in the class and does not round. CLASS FROM HELL.
Professor Randall is a great professor. I took his online class and passed with an A. Get ready to read and write. His exams are basic and easy as long as you read the assigned material. Reading the book is a must!!! If you are the ones that like to cheat on online classes then don't take this class because you will FAIL.
Interesting class and super easy. The tests are multiple choice and not hard if you read the book and took notes.
Professor only has a few assignments that are due several weeks apart which gives you plenty of time to study for the exam. The exam was not hard at all, easy A.
Very hands-off, so don't become complacent. Work is due over long periods of time, so log in daily to see any announcements; they do come up! Book will prep you for exams. There's an online group project, start ASAP so everyone is working. Easy to put on the backburner, but DONT. Slackers will fail. Solid online course/professor.
This course was horrible, I am a 4.0 student and this class ruined that. Professor does not grade you on very many things and will not work with students with late work. Would not recommend.
Doesn't work well with students and isn't willing to help if you're having a hard time. Super strict on not accepting late credit at all and frankly is just rude. Must have book because powerpoint do not cover all material on tests. Do NOT recommend taking him.
Guy's pretty rude and doesn't like to to be there for his students. Very "hands - off" and only seems to respond to questions or inquiries when he can criticize your questions and deny your inquiries. The group project is the biggest challenge if you have unresponsive group members online. The homework assignments are easy, very opinionated.
After working desperately hard to maintain a high A in the class I ended up with an 89.9. I asked if there was any possible way for him to raise my grade by 0.01 points so I could reach an A in my graduating semester since I have straight A's in all my other classes and he refused. Its amazing to me that he wouldn't add 0.01 points to my grade.
Professor Randall is awesome to say the least! I took him for Drugs and Crime and passed with a B+, although I kept an A the entire semester--he stresses that he does not "curve", so I happily took that B+, I EARNED!!! TAKE HIM, TAKE HIM, TAKE HIM.
This is a great professor! I am going to take him again in the future. You have to show up to class, attendance is a big part of your grade. But you are aloud four unexcused absences. There is 3 exams and one written/group project. You DO NEED THE TEXTBOOK! Most of his test questions are from the book. Not the power points. Easy class!
EASY CLASS.
The entire course consisted of six discussion posts and three exams. All of which were extremely doable. Purchase an online book for an easier time during exams and discussion posts. Very easy A if you stay on top of deadlines. 10/10 would recommend for this course. Professor is extremely caring.
Prof is cool but is ALL about business. Theres 3 exams, 5 ques assignment, and a (optional) group project. He post all his PPs online and provides pages in the textbook that you should focus on. He even throws out Q&As that will be on the test. He makes it VERY CLEAR that he DOESNT give extra credit neither does he round grades.
The class itself is very straight-forward and easy, but he seems to take points off discussion posts just for the sake of not giving a perfect score. Claims he wants you to answer questions in your own words but then corrects you with direct quotes from the book. Does not really interact with his students. Not a fan of the way he does things.
The class is not terrible. We do discussions based on the reading and exams. The exams are not too hard if you review the power points and read the book. The class is not hard overall.
Easy class. Discussion posts are not hard at all. Assignments are due like every 3 weeks? I feel like I never have anything due for his class. The tests are also easy, but YOU WILL NOT PASS THEM if you do not have the textbook. Make sure you buy the online version of the text. It will save your life. Do not depend on quizlet.
Clear expectations of the assignments. The assignments are due once a month, but he gives you one question to answer per chapter which made it super simple and easy. The class is based on the textbook so definitely need that. When I purchased the textbook on UCF's website they recommended a study sheet. Don't buy that thing waste of money.
In no way did I feel like I learned anything in this class, but I got an A+ in his class for the Spring 2020 semester. His class is literally only 3 tests and a few discussions which are due months apart. Honestly, forgot I was in class most of the semester. Super Easy A. Rarely does he post announcements. Just take him for the easy college credit.
