Awesome professor!! Very knowledgable. If you're looking for an easy ride this is not the professor for you. However, if you're wanting to learn A&P this is the man to take!

Class is hard, but he is very good at applying the knowledge and relating to the student. He outlines the notes and makes them available online as well. Everything isn't on them so be on time, because sometimes he'll give a bonus for the ones who show up to lecture on time.

This teacher is great. He is interesting,knowledgeable, and likes what he teaches. Come to class prepared to study and when the class is finished you will have an excellent base for A%P. He cares about his students and will help anytime you ask. My opinion he is the best A&P teacher TCC has.

A good teacher goes in-depth with his material. Not an easy class but if you make it out of his class you will definetly know your body.

Mr. Barton is by far one of the best teachers I have had at TCC. He is funny, helpful and has a passion for what he teaches. If you want to enjoy A & P take his class, yes it's hard...but he'll teach you and help you succeed. Very enjoyable class, out of the four science teahchers I've had at TCC he by far exceeds excellence in teaching!

Exceptional instructor. Has a great sense of humor which keeps me awake in class-and that's saying something. Studying for this class was time consuming - anyone in pre-nursing courses should get used to it. This class is great practice for putting your nose to the grindstone. Mr Barton is easily the best instructor in the TCC science department.

He's very clear and straightforward about he wnts from his students. He actually cares how well his students do. He's always willing to answer qustions.

Be prepared to study hard and keep up! Hard but fair. Passionate about what he teaches and will bend over backwards to help if you put forth the effort on your part. Lots of laughs in class - no trouble staying awake. Highly recommend if you plan on Nursing - classes are MUCH harder & use A&P info every day.

Mr. Barton is the best science professor at the south campus. He is living from his love and passion for the human body, and that is very much inspiring to learn from. He could easily be a doctor, he's that good. The material is a lot and hard to keep up with, but Barton goes out of his way to help and make things clear. He's very funny too.

He is a really good teacher. Loves to crack BBQ & KFC jokes while you are dissecting the cats. He is funny and a fun teacher. Pretty hot too. Be prepared to learn, because this class isn't a breeze. It's hard, but you learn something!!

this is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. He knows his stuff well, and makes sure the class does to. this class is NOT an easy A, the majority of his students make Bs and Cs. If you are aiming to get into the nursing program, I really recommend him, he'll help give you study habits that will last a long time.

Actually learning in this class. I am really enjoying this professor and his teaching style. He is very down to earth, and helpful. Compared to other science teachers I have had, he actually enjoys to teach. I take A+P with him and he requires us to use our brains and to be responsible. Excited about taking him next semester.

Life changing professor. If you READ the book, and study like he tells you (put a lot of time into it, if you work in the medical field you are dealing with PEOPLE'S LIVES!) you can do great. Pushed me to change my major from nursing to pre-med to follow my dreams!! TAKE HIM!!!

I took Mr. Barton for A&P 1&2. He is one of the best professors I have ever taken in my school career. He is extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, and wants his students to succeed. He is not an easy professor, but it helps in the end because you walk out of the class actually understanding the information and not just reciting it.

Jerry is a great professor! He is very funny, keeps you interested and is always willing to clarify things for you if you need it. He loves to teach A&P. Had for lab/lec. Lab is so easy. Lecture is sorta hard/sorta easy. Records his lectures!!!

Mr Barton's class is easy to understand and makes it so interesting.

He cares about his students. He is hard, but he tries to make it fun. He will play sound clips of cats meowing while you dissect cats. He seems to use the same jokes over and over. Take him if you have the chance.

I am a previous student of Mr. B's A&P1 Fall 2010 class.NO the class is NOT easy, but if you put forth the effort OUTSIDE of class you will/can make a good grade.I failed my 1st 2 test & then I had to examined myself & realized that I had to do more.Once the semester was over 12/2010,I had a B. So It can be done,but he's not going to GIVE you the A

I just finish taking his A&P I. As long as you study hard,you'll pass. He tries to help u understand the material. Most of his test are multiple choice, true or false, and fill in the blank. He gives three options for extra credit. No test review because u need to know all the material.he is funny and very passionate in teacher. Take him will learn what u need.

Excellent teacher! Extremely helpful even if you're not in his class! When I asked for his help in the wet specimen lab he was happy to help even though I wasn't in his lab. I had him in lecture, and he is awesome. Very tough. Study hard and ask questions. Listen to the mp3. I have a slight attention problem and still had very good grades.

Mr. Barton is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I have a bachelors degree from TX Tech and I have taken about 55 hours at TCC so I think that is a good compliment. He has a great teaching style that really helps you to understand the information. The class is hard don't get me wrong but if you put forth the effort you will learn a lot.

AMAZING teacher! Took him for A&P 1 during first summer session. It's lot of information but he explained everything in a way that I could understand. I listened to his podcasts b4 tests and he talks about everything in class that's on the test!

Great prof! Must be related to Jeff Foxworthy. Was so disappointed when I found out he isn't teaching 1409. Only studying I do is listening to his mp3s in car to/from school. Easy A's so far on first two tests. He gives a fair amount of extra credit as well.

He is all about critical thinking on his tests. If you have to wait to take his class for A&P2, DO IT!!!! I wish I would have now.

Barton is the best teacher! He's extremely helpful and honestly cares about how you do in his class. You will do great in his class as long as you do not try to take the easy way out. He records lectures, is more than willing to help you and answer any questions you have. The hardest time I had in his class was the Lab practicals. I got an A!

Jerry Barton is top notch as instructors go. He will do whatever it takes to make sure you understand the material vs memorizing it. Very good at relating concepts for understanding. Lots of fun in class, but takes A&P and your education very seriously. Tests are tough, but if you study like he tell you, you'll succeed. Find a study group!

He is a fantastic teacher. This was my second time to take A&P 1 because i didn't do good the first time because of the professor. But I am making a B in his class. Very helpful and makes his lectures interesting! Tests are hard but if you study good, you will be fine. He loves what he does & it shows!

Professor Barton gives fantastic lectures, but his tests are very, very hard. Most exams only a few people made A's. I studied hard but struggled to make B's on tests. If you have to take him, then you should do it during a full semester. That said, very entertaining and funny, cares a lot about the material and his students.

Take this class for Biol 1408 & take him for lab. He's funny and makes the information interesting. STUDY the power point notes and read the chapters and you'll get an A. For lab class there are quizzes each week but only 10 questions. Not an easy A but if you work for it you'll get it. Best bio teacher you'll find.

Mr. Barton is awesome! People complain about how hard he is, but his toughness is really helpful later. I just finished pathophysiology at UTA, and because I had to study so hard in Barton's A&P 1&2 classes, I easily passed patho with flying colors. Take him if you want to be prepared for upper level nursing courses. You will be glad you did!

I took Professor Barton for both A&P I&II. He is amazing! Between he and Professor Luyster, I wonder what they are doing at TCC. Anyways you will have to work hard and study to get the grade you need for nursing. I felt like I left his class with a great understanding of the material and I feel confident in moving forward! I was apprehensive taking this course from the reviews about how hard his tests are. I'm so glad I didn't let that scare me away. This is college people, this instructor teaches as college classes should be taught. If you're looking for someone to hold your hand throughout, maybe college isn't for you. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Only had Professor Barton for A&P lab. I would recommend him for lab and would take him for lecture if he wasn't full this semester. Very approachable, funny and has a genuine interest in his subject.

I learned alot in this class, not only about bio, but about the right way to study in a science course. I HIGHLY recommend this professor. It isn't an easy A course though. Your grade is 4 tests, lab average& 12 additional points if you decide to to a presentation at the end. Worth it!

Hands down the best teacher ive had at this school. I had him for intro to bio, and A&P. He really explains in detail what to know for tests and is there for help and questions. Hes funny and uses analogies to associate with what we talk about in class. The work does take a lot of studying but he also has extra credit. TAKE HIM!

Very good teacher!!! Very hard class, you have to study alot or you will not do good. If you are not an auditory learner then it would be best to take this class either by itself or maybe one or two other classes, so that way you have enough time to study for the exams. You have to study for the lab aswell, so its like another class load added on.

Amazing professor! He is the best A&P teacher out there! I don't think I could have understood half of the material with a different professor. Study the text and Power Points, read ahead, do the homework. He also does podcasts of his lectures in case you miss something. Do not skip! Do not be late!

Excellent professor, he has his moments of going off course but it usually has something pertaining to the material in one way or the other. You have to pay attention in this class and read (powerpoint/textbook). Not an easy A but not horribly difficult either.

This professor provides his expectations at the beginning of semester. He uses some humor and personal experiences to assist in relating the material to ones' betterment. His exams are not "easy breezy" but if you read ahead, study with a good group of students who take this class seriously, you will make the grade. This professor is a Great one!

HANDS DOWN the best Anatomy and Physiology teacher you can take. He makes you work for it, but he is clear about that on the first day of class. He cares about his students, will definitely take him for Bio as well. LOVE Mr. Barton!

I recently had his class for fall semester and this guy was something else. he turns biology into comedy, not that there's anything wrong with that. Although his tests were difficult, it's possible to pass them if you study. also, his podcasts are a big help because his lectures are recorded to be heard over and over. would I recommend him? yes!

His lectures are crystal clear, yeah sure his tests are tough, but as long as you read your textbook, and pay attention in class you will do fine! He is very helpful... umm his class has 4 exams, and does give plenty of extra credit. In his class it is like "the grade you earn is based on how much effort you put in the class."

Professor Barton gives out the best lectures for his students! He is not easy because you have to know the concept to pass any test highly. Mr. Barton records himself and posts it on blackboard giving ideas of test questions. Take him if you really want to learn but also have fun. Challenging part is there is no reviews for test! Barton is a good professor. This however is not an easy class. You earn what you get, though he gives ample bonus questions on tests. One thing I'll say negative is for such an intensive course little to no review before tests makes the subject a lot harder than it needs to be. On the positive side he records all his lectures which help immensely.

Very good and funny professor. I enjoyed going to his lectures. The class is not easy though. You need to study and apply yourself, go to SI sessions, I made the mistake to start to late and barely passed with a 72. I am going to retake the class and take him again.

Professor Barton is an amazing instructor, with a great sense of humor. I passed all of my exams because of the way he teaches . The material is not easy but it's a science class, study for it and you will do great. Also, he gives many extra points that are easy to get if you do the work. Definitely taking him for AP II.

Do not get comfortable knowing you have Barton. Yes he is an awesome guy, and I'm so privileged he was my Anatomy professor.. but make no mistake that this class is brutal. Even if you have Barton, you're going to have to put your sweat, tears and blood into this course. Luckily Barton makes it bearable. Be excited if you made it into his class.

Honestly one most inspirational, caring people I've ever met. Jerry Barton motivated me to be a better student, and I can't thank him enough for it. The active learning thing he preaches actually works. SI Sessions, Study Groups, Independent Study are necessary to be successful in this course.

Professor Barton was great! This class is incredibly difficult and I wont say he makes it easy but he makes it bearable. He is a great lecturer and his tests come mainly from his ppts. (pay attention to the small details like charts & illustrations). He does not give study guides but he did cowrite the lab book so use the objectives as a guide.

Mr. Barton is far the best teacher I have had at TCC. He takes his time and make sure that we understand everything that is being taught. He breaks everything down slide by slide. This class has alot of information to take in. But if you follow his lectures and power points you will pass. The review is his PowerPoints and and they help out so much.

Professor Barton is an amazing professor. He truly cares about his students' success and gives you the materials needed to do well in the class. However, you will have to work for your grade - what you put into his class is what you will get out of it. Pay attention to the lectures, utilize the material he provides you, and you'll do well.

I took him online over the summer in an 8 week A&P course. I was prepared to fail because we could not meet in person and the class in so hard. I was 8 months pregnant while taking this course and he worked with me with extended test dates when I was sick and even gave me 4 extra days to take the final when I was in labor. He is so caring! 10/10!!

Professor Barton is a very AWESOME professor! If I was ever lucky enough to have a professor like him in every class, I would LOVE school. He is straight forward, completely honest, very thorough and will give you life examples to help you remember the material. He is super helpful and is a great listener! Great professor overall, the one thing I did not really care for is the fact that there are NO test reviews what so ever. He expects you to understand what is on the test by his powerpoints that arent very clear in direction. Lab test are the same way. He does curve almost EVERY test AND he gives extra credit.

Professor Barton really cares about his students and took the time to explain everything he taught. Although everything was online he still made sure we understood the material. He also gave us curves on test and extra credit opportunities.

A & P is difficult, but Prof. Barton has a great teaching strategy, relating complex concepts to everyday life and always explaining processes to a more relatable scenario. His powerpoints are lengthy, and some material isn't covered in the lecture (more towards the end of the semester). His classes fill quickly, and sadly there isn't a waitlist :(

There're 4 lecture exams, 2 lab exams & 1 final, 90% comes from the 4 lecture exams. There's homework that comes straight from the recorded lectures. Attendance is taken by asking 5 questions about the recorded lecture, but you don't have to have the answers for it. Homework comes from recorded lectures as well. Class is easy just keep up with it.

This class is hard but with Barton you WILL learn! His tests are brutal, he expects you to live and breathe A&P, but he is understanding and offered extra credit opportunities. He understands the online environment isn't perfect and is helpful. He is approachable and loves to answer questions. You will need to read the chapters paired with lecture.

He gives a lot of extra credit so there is no way you can't pass. Very respected professor i encourage everybody taking this class to take him.

Best science professor I have ever had. I will be taking his a&p 2 class. Very engaging during lecture and has a real life example for everything. Cracks jokes related to the material which makes it easier to pay attention at 8am. Never hesitates to go over any confusing topics again during or after class. 10/10.

Prof Barton isn't so bad. But the class overall is just difficult. We started the class with like 25 of us and people started dropping the course since the first week. It's possible to do good in this class but you REALLY have to put in the effort. It's not gonna be a piece of cake. I recommend taking this course if you are ready to put in the work

I had taken a&p previously and had to drop because it was too hard, but mr. Barton made an effort for you to learn. Has podcast where you can go back to listen, has homework as review and lab books are very useful to be successful in lab. Overall nice guy, replies to email fast and can go to office hours for help.

Mr.Barton is a great professor. His test are very hard so be prepared anatomy is hard. He is a VERY caring instructor and responds to every email. I have took this course multiple times at different campuses and he seems to be the BEST so far. He gives extra credit he also curve your grade and drop the lowest hw assignments.

It is obvious that he cares about his students and this matters a lot since A&P can be a difficult course. He is very kind, funny, and does not judge you for having questions. He records his lectures, so that you can listen to them at home. As long as you study, you will survive this class.

Any Anatomy class will be tough, but Professor Barton makes the class as easy as can be; he keeps lectures interesting with stories and jokes, he will answer any questions anytime no matter how silly it may sound. He cares for his students, his exams are a good mental workout but with active learning it's pretty fun. Best prof out there!!

Awesome professor. Bonus questions on every test and random extra points here and there. His personality is great and makes lectures fun. He does post powerpoints but they are an outline for his lectures, so take notes! The class is only graded by 6 tests and your average homework grade. It's a hard course, but Barton makes it as easy as it can.

Professor Barton does everything you'd want from a professor teaching a class as rigorous as Anatomy and Physiology. You have to do your part though. He explains every slide in the lecture in-depth and uses a bunch of analogies and ways to remember some harder concepts. Very upfront with you about what you need to know for exams.

Dr. Barton is one of the most respected, resourceful and entertaining educators at Tarrant County College. I am now enrolled in his 2402 with him and Im glad I choose him because the course is quite difficult. With that being said I personally live almost 40min away and for me its well worth the drive to have Dr. Barton as my teacher. Very helpful.

Barton is the best thing walking the South Campus at TCC. The guy is passionate and cares for his students. Anyone saying that he was too hard or didn't make a good grade did not study well outside of class. YOU HAVE TO PUT IN WORK! Create good study habits, use other resources to help you understand and remember the material.

I had Professor Barton for A&P1 and A&P2, he made learning fun and class enjoyable, his review are his lectures, he records all his lectures and uploads them so you can go back and listen along with his powerpoints which was very helpful. Anatomy and Physiology is a touch class but with his teaching skills made it enjoyable and interesting.

I am only giving his difficulty a 3, because I took his A & P 1 class this summer. Overall, he is an amazing professor. He is very approachable, clear, and funny. He made it easy to understand the large amount of material being covered, with his stories and analogies. He is very passionate about teaching, and he genuinely cares about his students.

Professor Barton truly cares for his occupation, his passion is guaranteed to transfer onto you as a student. It has been a great honor becoming an SI leader for his course, he is an amazing mentor. Anatomy is a very tedious course, but consistently attending labs, lectures, studying and attending SI sessions will guide you well.

I absolutely loved professor Barton's class! I took his A&P 1 over the summer and enjoyed every second of it. There is a lot of material and you have to put in hard work but professor Barton gives you multiple tools to help you succeed. His lectures are engaging and fun. Would 100% take another class with him.

He is such an amazing teacher, He will answer all questions no matter what. He is very nice and his exams are difficult but not to the level as not understanding questions. if you study you will pass exams , 2 lab exams, 4 lecture exams. Have notes prepared before attending class. Use the slc it will help!

I took Barton for both A&P I and A&P II. He is passionate about his profession and genuinely cares for his students. He promotes an active critical thinking environment and never fails to ensure the class understands the information he is presenting. He is always willing to spend more time with those who need/want it. I would absolutely recommend!

Barton is amazing take him you won't regret! His lab exams have 20 multiple choice and lecture exams are really straight forward he does not try tricking you! Not to mention he is a really funny guy there was never a dull moment in his class. He was great for AP1 that I will be taking him for AP2 next semester! Great professor take him!

Prof. Barton is one of the greatest professors that I came across so far during my time at TCC. He's very caring and wants his students to succeed HOWEVER, you're going to have to put in the EFFORT! Professor Barton is hands down the best professor I've ever taken. He challenges you to push yourself and learn the material. While many prefer to memorize and brain dump, this information carries over to your major courses. I took him for A&P I and II. Honestly, just push yourself and the rest comes easy.

Anatomy in general is hard I took professor Barton for both API & AP II I can definitely say he was a better professor for API. In my opinion he's a good professor and very accessible during office hours. Highly recommend for API though!

Just recently finished his class. He helped me learn a new way of studying. Although I didn't get the grade I wanted I passed the class thanks to him and his insight and encouragement. I am taking him in the fall for A&P II. I plan to get an A or B. He breaks everything down to where you can understand it. Definitely don't regret taking his class.

I have never seen a professor like him. He is extremely knowledgeable, very caring, and genuinely human. He brings so much class and respect to the classroom.
