He is the coolest teacher I have ever had. Even though his class is difficult, he really inspires me.

Great teacher, explains details well, not much work to do
Very good teacher.
He was a very good teacher with engaging lectures. His tests were nit-picky and hard, but fair. The great lectures made up for the annoying tests!
A little tough, but funny and interesting. Definately don't expect the "norm" out of him!
a lousy teacher. he told the class he knew everything.
I really liked his class. Interesting and open. He's a nice guy and doesn't put up with much rudeness from the class. Hard tests but good class
Yes, definitely nitpicky. And he does NOT get his facts straight. Never take online classes of his. They are just terrible.

Hard tests but a very good teacher. Fun and interesting lectures!!!
I failed
Hard tests, quiz every other week...a lot of reading, class was difficult due to the extreme amount of reading...dont take if you dont plan on putting effort into the class
I took too classes from Jerry, the only two classes that I have ever failed in my entire school career. He assumes he knows everything, and expects you to spend ten minuets in his class and know it all too. Insane amounts of reading, long drawn out lecture
I loved Jerry's classes. Basically all I did to study was paid attention in class and skimmed the chapter in the book the night before. His quizzes can be hard if you don't ready them really carefully. He doesn't give homework except usually one paper that

Just write down everything he says in class and memorize his notes. The textbook was almost superfluous except twice when he told us to read a certain section. The tests can be difficult, but not if you think about the question and have studied.

Has a tendancy to go off on tangeants.. a lot of them.. Which I found annoying. Because suddenly class would be over and he didn't cover everything he planned to, so we were responsible for the extra stuff. And he thought he was like the funniest, most intelligent person to ever walk the planet. Normally I have a great sense of humor but to me he was just irritating.

I loved Jerry's class, it was really hard, but overall, i really liked the guy, ive heard that its 50/50 for most people, anyway, hes especially good with human sexuality class. Personality wise, hes a funny guy -Love Douglas
Marshall SUCKS! He is egotistical and arrogant. He is so full of himself he really dosen't care if you get it or not, it is not his problem it is yours. He is way to in to himself and talks too much about his sexuallity class and about sex in general.Take Bush instead.
Took this guy for intro to psych and human sexuality. I liked his teaching style, very hard teacher but you definately will learn, I liked the way he acted he was funny and wierd, heheh. Human sexuality is his passion, and the best class to take with him. He talks about it alot, but I didnt mind, sex talk never bothered me though.
total jack*ss. I've never had a prof so full of himself and yet so lousy--unavailable, distant, unhelpful, even ignorant of his subject. He's phoning it in for apaycheck. Avoid at all costs. Wilturner is the superior teacher!
The worst teacher I have evr had.
Nothing bothers Jerry the Ice Man. He may be cold and distant but if you are paying attention in class and there for all the lessons and really read the book you can get an A and you will learn a lot of very useful information. He is not going to coat it in Chocolate and spoon feed you, if you want the knowledge, he will give it to you, just take i
If you had a question he answered it to the best of his ability, went above and beyond to help me out. Is an excellent professor, some corny jokes, but overall very laid back teaching style. read the material and pay attention in class and you'll do fine. Not a class for someone looking for an easy grade, you do actually have to be able to think.
Loved his class. His lectures are interesting and worthwile to come to. But they're not enough to 4.0 his quizes and test. You must read the book. But he does grade on the curve and gives extra credit opportunities.
I took human sexuality and intro to psych from him and I love his perspective. Yes, he's arrogant and cocky, but its entertaining. Plan to read alot and he has a very traditional teaching method. He is not always available for one on one time, so don't expect that. He's like a university professor.
Terrible teache: arrogant and unhelpful. He couldn't care less if you learned anything. Cares about himself, not about students.
It was an interesting class but don't expect to ever be able to see him out of class.. I tried to go talk to him and it's pretty much impossible.. I took this class online and dropped it, it was quite hard.. Not very clear with what he wants either, you think you did well on an assignment and get 5/10..
hard tests but if you study a little everyday and take the online tests by the publisher you'll do fine. jerry is a very fair teacher but he expects that if you show up it is to listen.
Full of himself, tests are very hard. Half of the class left because of his tests.
Mostly book based
This class was actually somewhat interesting. If you pay attention in class and read the book somewhat you will be fine! Seriously just study and it's easy! He's a funny....wierd guy. Very entertaining.
he is good teacher. the class is interesting and fun, but tests are difficult. he picks questions from test bank and seems to me don't read them. there are a many of bad questions. if you want to be good at class - READ the book and do test online and on CD.
No help whatsoever.
I really enjoyed this class. Funny teacher, George Carlinesque. Gotta study though!
Study from the book, Ace the class
Tests hard. Acts helpful, but when you meet with him he is not. Makes you feel like you are being crazy for asking for help.
He Brings sexy back!!! His psych 100 course is cool! but if you are panzee complainer who doesn't know how to read then this is NOT your course. If you listen to him during lectures and read occasionaly you can do decent. Only "HARD" part is learning theory but once again PAY ATTENTION!
This man made me hate psychology! I took an online class and his arrogance seeped through the computer screen! He is so rude, and insisted on being called "Dr." Marshall. Come on now, really? Never again will I take another psych class, I was bound to wind up being taught by a nut case!
Terrible. Very rude and arrogant. I had tests proctored and he expected me to get his explicit permission (not just notification) to do so for every test (count 'em five). Also, he doesn't so much teach as he does just tell you to read the book.
Had two online classes with him. I thought he was fine. One word of caution: Check your scores CAREFULLY! He made numerous grading mistakes.

Good Teacher: easy to understand. he'll only be rude if you talk while he does. so just pay attention in class. duh. also: tests aren't hard: they are just based in real-life story form and if you study: you're fine. just like any other class: love psychology.
The worst psych teacher I have ever had. Very opinionated and creepy.Don't even have to come to class. Study just the book!
He's not the easiest professor in school but you'll learn a lot from his class at the end, not only stuff from the book but also how to live your life. His tests are pretty hard and book based mostly. You'll need to read a lot and GO TO CLASS!! Overall, hes a great teacher, he's nice and funny and ready to help when u need. Highly recommended
I really loved his class. Yes, he insists you call him Dr. Marshall but that's because he is a doctor. He was rude to people who talked in class, but that's understandable. He was a good professor but to get a good grade you have to put work into it.
He is good, but you must take notes and read the book. Pay close attention
i have to say his classes were fun! But you do have to read alot. I rarely went to class cuz i had problems waking up, but i still got a 3.8 in the end. Again, just make sure you read the book in detail, cuz most of the test questions come from there. Overall he's a good teacher with a good sense of humor n i think if u respect him he'll respect u.
Marshall's way up there on my list of amazing teachers. Anyone conservative would hate him, especially his Human Sexuality class, but for us [amazing] liberals he's a kick. He's a tricky little bugger, though. It wasn't until after the first test he mentioned his habit of leaving info out of the lectures to make us read the book. Sneaky, sneaky.
well i dunno
Teaches a tough class. It's not bad, just expect to do some critical thinking. Tests are from both lectures & the book. He gets upset if you interrupt(but who doesn't?). Not such a bad guy as some people make him seem. I think some of his jokes are funny & others not so much. Overall you get the grade you work for, not for just showing up to class.
Well I had him a few years ago and I thought he was the most hilarious teacher. I think people don't know how to take his jokes because they are so politically incorrect. His class was entertaining and if you do the simple studying he requires you should easily pull an A.
Great teacher! Made me like this class. Tests a little hard sometimes but if you study its not that bad. Just pay attention and read the chapters and its all good!
pretty decent. kinda funny
Great teacher! He's funny and explains everything very well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
he is alright. Test are hard, never knows what to study for.
Took his online class. Class info can be hard to find & isn't very organized. Tests extremely hard unless you have photographic memory, even if you work through the materials, study hard and have above-average intelligence. He does grade on a curve, but doesn't disclose that. The curve somewhat helps, but not as much as it should.
Good at what he does. Anyone who dissagrees should not complain because it was their choice to take the class. Anyone who comes on here to talk**** has no life and should stop looking for attention.
Amazing teacher. The class isn't as hard as people say it is. They should open up the book and read it, not just rely on lectures. Other than that, he was a hoot. Absolutely hilarious and had great stories. Would definitely take him again if he taught Abnormal.
He comes off as a politically correct George Carlin.
Great teacher with a good sense of humor. You don't have to attend class, just read the book and take careful notes out of it. (Bolded terms) Tests are all multiple choice but they are tricky if you don't know your material. Love this guy.
He was alright.
He is an absolute kick. I have had him for intro and Human Sexuality and would take him again in a heartbeat. No homework, or attendence so you are graded on quizzes and tests. You get what you deserve. Great guy!
I had Jerry Marshall for human sexuality and he's hilarious. The class is based on your test and quizzes. So be sure to read everything in the book. Oh and also do the extra credit at the end of the quarter, it helps! Take his class, he's worth it!
u have to read the whole text book to pass. The tests are from text, only half is from his teachings
He is a good teacher. Talks about sex 24/7. Very funny. Teaches a lot about evolution. Good class to take.
Just to start with, don't miss any of the classes! Not because they help a lot, but he is so funny! I took him for Psychology 100 and he was so so funny. His lectures help a lot in understanding difficult concepts in the book. Attend all his lectures and you'll be good for the class. For the test, read the question really carefully and most of his
I took it online and got a 4.0. As long as you read the book and know the book really well you will do fine. He was really helpful when answering questions. He uses great examples to get you to understand the material and I would recommend his online class.
Took the online class...not an easy A. A lot of his test questions are not at 100 level, more like 200 level. He wants you do to work his way. Not recommended to take online.
super boring classes, i dreaded going everyday... he gets off topic like every other minute... and his tests and quizzes are hard! he is the psychologist who messes with your head because he knows he can... DONT take class with him
his teaching style is easy to understand but u need to use more smart thinking. His test is hard and no homework. He doesn't use the book at all.
This was the hardest class and I ended up dropping it. I did all the readings, took notes, studied for his class, 1st test I got 7 out of 20, no 1 got a 100%, then he says " for those of you who didnt do well maybe you need to study harder" I think if were not doing well. maybe you should change the way you teach!! I am paying to learn this stuff.
My worst experience in an online class. His lecture notes are difficult to read, the text was much more interesting but his test questions come from the powerpoints. Unfortunately he is the only instructor that teaches online so good luck. I ended up with a 3.5 and I worked my tail off for those points.
Ask the good DOCTOR if he ever went swimming near the University of Texas?
If you plan on taking this online, be prepared to work yourself to understand the textbook as his notes are only a guide to what he would normally lecture on. This class was not easy and would have been far better if taken as a regular class. Tests are very hard.
Class is mostly based off of the book. Rarely attended class, got a 4.0. Very good at explaining/clarifying topics. Irrational people will have trouble with this class.
He is a somewhat likable person and you will learn lots in his class but if you actualy want to pass just read the book because he will confuse you with his frequent tangents and outbursts
I took him for Psych 100 and 200. He's hard but in class he's interesting and online he's not too bad either. Quick to respond to emails and answers questions. Read whats required and STUDY WELL and you should be fine. Gives extra credit too.
Awesome teacher!! Really enjoyed him! Tests are hard, you really need to know your stuff and study, read the textbook. Takes a lot of effort to get a good grade, but worth it (:
The class was difficult, not gonna lie. Above all, make sure you read the book. I found his lectures very interesting for the most part. He really knows how to get students involved in discussions and make the class fun. The guy's very funny and quirky, maybe not for everyone, but overall I would definitely recommend his class.
I took his into psych class and his human sexualy class about a year ago. Both had hard tests but I would take them over because he was so funny and interesting. I never missed a day of class because I always new he had something funny to say! Take his class for sure.
Dr. Jerry Marshall is a high quality professor that knows his craft and his audience. His lectures are engaging and thought-provoking, so come to class ready for the discussion. Be ready to study hard each day and familiarize yourself with the book. Psych 200 is intriguing, but also quite challenging. Tests are hard, so study hard and succeed.
He is nice and easy enough as a teacher, he knows what he is teaching and I really like how he makes his course lectures available online. Be warned, his tests are trickier than he lets on, and he grades off the tests. I wish he gave more opportunity for extra credit
Professor Marshall is very vague in what he asks for from you as a student. You can say one thing and its wrong and say another and its still wrong. He's very unhelpful and curt. He shouldn't have chosen to teach of he is so annoyed by his students. Don't take his class online if you don't have to. Take in class with a different professor.
Dr. Marshall is an awesome professor; I had him for both General Psych and Human Sexuality. He is superbly helpful and caring. I took these classes as social science credit, now I am going to major in psych! I always looked forward to going to Dr. Marshall's classes, especially to hear how his goats were doing. :D
I had Marshall for intro psych as well as human sexuality. I found his lectures very interesting and they even inspired me to pursue psych as my major. I wish i could take a class from him again! Study VERY hard for the tests though!
oh my gosh he is so damn awkward!!! class is very boring and not a very good teacher, strict, and not nice. I totally learned the things by myself!!
A little quirky, but very smart. Nice guy. He knows what he's talking about, and if you actually PAY ATTENTION during lecture and STUDY hard, your hard work will pay off.
Great teacher! Really keeps you entertained and in tune to what is going on, really hard to not pay attention to the funny stuff he does! Always adds humor to his subjects! No homework you do all the work on your own, he doesnt take attendance so you dont have to go but its pretty necessary to be there! He is pretty cool! Always has great examples!
He's an awesome teacher! I definitely recommend him for those that are willing to study and really understand concepts of psychology. He provides tons of examples that stick with you and he may seem wierd at first but he is honestly the funniest teacher ive ever had! I love his class and definitely will be taking another one!
Good teacher. Makes things easy to understand. Makes the class fun and lectures easy to listen to. He can be awkward at times but he's pretty funny. Overall an great class.
Super super funny teacher. If you're interested in Psychology, definitely take him. Super helpful, funny, and weird. I looked forward to this class everyday. Never a dull day, for sure. Lots of studying is involved though if you want a good grade.
I took three classes with Jerry in 2003-2004. He is partially the reason I am getting my Master's in psychology. Jerry is superb teacher. I can't even describe how good he is, because he is the best. He is extremely helpful to students. Studying hard is a requirement. I got so many of my questions answered. I wish i always had professors like him.
I took him for PSYCH100 and he was a pretty good teacher so I decided to take the Human Sexuality. It was a pretty stupid class. The very first test, not one person passed since he used things that were in the book but not in his lectures. The Human Sexuality class was terrible. Wilturner is a lot better.
very opinionated, even though he says he isn't.. he is
He is very opinionated and always going off on tangents that don't relate to the course. His tests are very hard. On the plus he puts lectures online and has a generous exam make up policy. Overall not a good teacher by any stretch of the imagination.
I got a decent grade in his class. But he is a terrible teacher. I'd study 2 hours every day for his class and take notes but I wouldn't do so great on the test. He just wants the class to know how much of a genius he is. He needs to see a therapist.
Difficult, Trick questions. Didnt learn any material. Dont take online
Nice enough guy, but very full of himself. He is prone to off topic rants. The class is easy enough if you study the book and show up to class though. He tried to get us to buy a book he wrote that was never used in the class,
Had for 101 and human sex. Very off topic. Lots of rants. Hes full of himself. But he knows what hes talking about. You just have to focus on his actual information that he gives you.
all you need to do is show up every lecture, take notes, read the book. and you will be just fine!!! tests are super easy!!!
In most of the lectures he wasted time talking about unimportant things and the quizzes and tests were confusing. He had to drop the first test because it was too difficult, 45/60 was the best grade! I learned most things from reading the book. Before tests and quizzes he would only give us the chapters and then ask about the tiniest details.
He was very interesting, I enjoyed all his lectures. You need to take notes everyday, it's an easy class if you study everyday.
I absolutely love him as a teacher. He is hilarious and makes you think and challenges your ideas without shoving his beleifs down your throat. I took him for psych 100 and Human Sexuality. He made both classes very intereting. Read the chapters, and take practice quizes on text website and youll do fine on his tests.
It was a okay class.
Good teacher with clear expectations and guidance for success but quizzes are hard because all questions are situational and created by him. No trick questions, just a lot of good answers to choose from so it can be hard choosing the BEST. He's picky about 'key point' terms but assignments seem easy and straightforward. -not enough time on tests-
Awesome class! It's the most interesting class I've ever taken! It is a HARD class though. So much reading! I spent at least 3 hours a day on the material. Tests are tricky, but not impossible. You really need to study. Responds to emails fast and very helpful. This class+summer quarter+2 other 5 credit classes=no life, no sleep, and lots of stress
This class wasn't an easy A. You have to give yourself enough time to read/study. He's a great teacher though. Took online- passed w/a B. Keypoints picky, tests are fair, time is 1 min per quest. Don't wait til last min to study. Assignments are pretty simple. Overall.. CLASS WAS FUN. I took this class during the summer and online which is HARD.
Although he is clearly smart and knows what hes talking about, he made me feel uncomfortable. He will talk over and over again about how he does not believe in God, and how he finds young women attractive. He's crude and disgusting in my opinion, he should keep those things to himself.
The way how Dr. Marshall explains is very easy to understand. It however seems like he remembers the textbook and simply says it out. His quizzes are based on applied psychology. I think I am fortunate to have him as introductory psychology professor. It makes my Psychology degree more meaningful in a special way ;)
Says to use your own words... Then you are told you are wrong. Give an example and he tells you that you are wrong, then uses it as an example! Study everyday for about 2 hours... And still struggle with the tests because he uses these huge words or tweaks the questions so you have no idea what he is asking. We all don't have PhD's...
He is picky on the key points. He says to use your own words so I did and he said I used a reference for my definition and example when I actually did use my own words. There are only so many words you can use to define cerebellum. The tests are not directly based on reading and text book practice test style.
When I read some of the comments, I was discouraged from taking the class; however, when I took it, I was pleasantly surprised to find he is easy to understand and humorous! It's one of those difficult classes, but if you attend and STUDY, you'll do fine. Don't take other's opinions for your own! Formulate your own! ;)
One of my favorite teachers at GRCC so far!Going into this class I read most of the comments on here and most of them are probably from students that didn't actually take the time to listen to the wise words this man has to say. TAKE his class and you wont be disappointed!
Interesting class, pay attention to the key points. Take good notes for the quiz followed by the test. Very picky professor, so make sure you read the syllabus carefully.
Very picky with key terms.I felt like I could never get full points for an assignment. Pay attention to every little direction he gives you. His tests require you to critically think and are scenario based which I actually liked.
This teacher is beyond confusing, his answers to questions are very vague. He has too much little details that he picks on within assignments and I feel like no one in class can get a full score.
Arrogant, rude, picky... I would strongly recommend you stay away from his classes, especially online. Tons of reading, no one ever got full credit on anything. Be prepared to spend at least 3 hours a day studying. The class is incredibly hard.
He thinks he is only right, everyone else is wrong. instead of teaching you, he just tells you things. talks about sex way too much, i'm not taking sex ed. he will use sex as a example every chance he gets. and he is a horrible teacher. i recommend you stay away from this class. no work but tests! thats your only grade!
The guy in and of himself is ok. He is not a really good teacher though. Do not follow his study notes, they have not been updated since around 9000 B.C. and will cause you to royally screw up your grade. This guy really splits hairs with you and TRIES to find something to dock you on, so do exactly what he says. Avoid if possible.
You must study, lots of studying. Lots of reading. Don't hesitate to ask questions, not because he will answer but because the sooner you ask the more likely you are to receive an answer before the assignment is due. Can be very confusing. Class required version 10 of book, he taught out of 9. Threw off my entire quarter. Found out last day.
He talks about his life a lot and sometimes (most of the time) he talks about stuff that won't be on the test. So you really have to read textbooks. He seems intimidating but will help you if you ask. I think his tests are hard though
Jerry is a very funny and intelligent guy. He makes the class entertaining and makes you look forward to going. Participation is very recommended as well as studying from the book. Get interested in the material and relate it to your own life and you'll do fine. Moderate studying and showing up daily got me a 4.0.
Dr. Marshall knows what he is talking about he just doesn't relay the information in the best way to students. I took his Hybrid Class. I found the lectures somewhat interesting but the tests were extremely hard. The quizzes were 10 minutes for 10 Questions. Then 50 minutes for 55 questions for the Unit Tests.
I took both 100 & 200 consecutively online and got a 4.03.7. His class is relatively clear, and you must read the book to comprehend the quizzes. If you are a procrastinator, I would not recommend an online class. The class is fully online, tests and all. I spent around 2 hours per day for this class with no previous psychology knowledge.
Lecture based class. 1 chapter of the text book per week (average of 18 pages). Make sure you actually study EVERY DAY. Attendance isnt required, but you should definetely not skip his class. No hoework assigntments, but there 10 question quizes every friday. They're multiple choice tests, but they're hard...
In his hybrid classes, ALL tests are online and all multiple choice. This makes it easy to cheat but he knows that as well so he makes the tests more difficult. I've had him twice and I know I would have done better in his classes if I had actually bought the book. But it's still possible to pass without the book.
Took online. Its a hard class but if you read and turn everything in you should do good. Tests can be tricky and they are timed. Follow directions on the homework and study are the biggest things. I was scared to take this online because of the reviews but I am glad I did.
Im taking J Marshall right now for psychology, and he is hands down one of the worst teachers I have ever had in all my experiences. He is not helpful, will give you a very low grade and say "didnt do right" with no feedback as to what you could have done wrong or could do different, very unhappy!!!!!
Mr Marshall is absolutely no help. It seems like he doesn't want people to pass his class and it is almost impossible to get full credit on his assignments. I don't recommend taking this class.
He is a very hard grader on pointless assignments. He seems to always find something wrong with my papers, no matter how long i spend on them. Really hard grader for pointless reasons too. For example, if you dont use a good enough example about your life, minus half the grade.
He will fail you on basically anything you write to him if one word is even remotely similiar to something that was written in the book. Very unfair grader. I would avoid his class at all costs.
hands down the worst teacher at green river, avoid like the plague! if you need to drive to highline, or take an online course at another college, do so!
if possible, take any other teacher but marshall, horrible grading, doesnt give full credit to save his life, completely arrogant, uses NO clarity in his directions, and then docks you several points for not understanding enough, he looks for reasons to fail you. take the other psych teacher if you want to keep a good GPA, trust me.
Won't give a good grade the first time. Always have to do the second part of the assignment no matter what. He is set in his ways and has no leniency even when circumstances would require a little bit at least.
I just started this class and I already feel like this is going to be bad. It seems impossible to get the right answer. I heard he was tough but this is beyond tough. Do not take this class!!! You've been warned....
This was my first online class, and hopefully my last. Wording on tests was confusing, and so were the discussion boards. The textbook was lame. I understand wanting students to use critical thought, but that's hard to accomplish online. I LOVE psychology, and I did really poorly.
Literally the WORST lecture class I have EVER had.. I waited a few months into the quarter to write this review but the class just keeps getting worse. He reads his slides and always skips like 5 of them, I dont learn anything from his lectures. If you want to pass the class then you must read the book.
I took his hybrid class and yet I feel like his lecture is pretty interesting. However, this course requires you actually study yourself as he only clarify the main point of the topic instead of clearly explained the whole thing. If you study very hard and understand the concepts, you can apply on his test. Send him email with questions, he helps
His lectures were mostly irrelevant to the tests.
I took Psychology 180 as well as Psychology 100 from Dr. Marshall. I enjoyed 180 a lot more than 100. It is pretty interesting and the material in the class is sometimes awkward but he helped to make it not. Timed Small Quizzes every week and then Unit Tests every couple weeks. This class is a Hybrid and Book is important.
I took his Psych 200 class online and I absolutely hate it. I love the subject of psychology but his instructions are confusing, he's not helpful at all and he is extremely nit picky when grading. I don't know if he's better in person but I personally will never take any class instructed by him again. Do. Not. Take. This. Class.
He was a great Psychology Professor. Lectures were interesting, and he always answers any questions you may have. This class does require about an hour every day of studying if you aren't so good at remembering things. If you are good at remembering things, you could easily get by studying 2-3 days a week for about an hour each time.
Marshall is one of those teachers that how interested you will be depends on if your personality matches well. He's a cool teacher that more or less doesn't care what others think. I previously took psyc100 previously with another teacher and this class was just a reiteration. I barely if ever read the book except to refresh. Again depends on you.
There are 4 modules, 2 discussion posts (key points and a research assignment) in each, with 2 quizzes and a test. He will tell you what you missed points on, but not what you did wrong or how to fix it. Extremely unclear feedback, it's a difficult class. Don't recommend.
If you take Dr. Marshall's online class be prepared to follow directions. I was a 4.0 student until taking this class. I have received many zeros from him for work I have completed. When looking for guidance I have emailed him asking him if something was appropriate and got the response, " I think not." He provided me with no direction. Nit picker.
This professor is awful. He goes overboard with directions to the point where they do not make sense and are not very clear. He docks points for the stupidest stuff and his tests are absolutely impossible. I am normally a good student but I failed several tests and assignments in his class. I would recommend not taking his online classes.
He's a very interesting lecturer! I found myself looking forward to his class each day, and he is full of stories and interesting ways to communicate information. He has a very out-there personality, which is good if you like that in a teacher, but if you don't like that, skip. Bottom line: take as an in-person or hybrid class, not online.
I don't believe he is aware this is an Intro class not a class for masters.
Overall, the textbook information was really interesting and I learned a lot. The online class was a different story. The teacher is a tough grader when it comes to the homework assignments. If you study a lot, you should have no problem on the quizzes and tests which should make up for the homework that he grades so difficultly on.
He's a easy going professor and he DOES know what he is doing. From what I've known about him (being a clinical psychologist and all) he is more than adequate to teach this class. He usually brushed over general theory and give detail examples and experiences for more difficult concept. (Tests are online and simple. I missed one of them though)
Although I learned a lot in this class, consider this your fair warning that Marshall's hybrid class is quite difficult. I barely passed this class, and I have never received below a B in any class other than this one at Green River. He is opinionated and lectures can become awkward. It definitely doesn't feel like a beginner class coarse.
Amazing teacher for lectures and learning material. Tells things like they are but isn't too rough. Makes connections with teaching and makes it fun. Great sense of humor
The class took a while to get used to because all the quizzes and test are online but you get used to it. I'd recommend to come to class and listen to his lectures, which are so interesting, and then review the material covered in class in the textbook and you'll be set. He adds a curve which is awesome!
I really enjoyed his Psych 101 class! Attendance is not mandatory, but I looked forward to attending class everyday. He made lectures interesting and his stories were fun. I suggest buying the textbook though as he moves pretty quickly through the PPT slides and I found it helpful to study using the textbook along with my notes.
He missed a whole week of class, that was okay since he sent us ONE email about it. Then the next week, no body received any emails or announcement saying he would be gone again. Went to campus just to find out he's not here. No help whatsoever, very difficult to reach outside of class. Expects a lot out of you with nothing in return.
I hate to say it, but this professor is probably the hardest I've ever taken. He is very nitpicky, if you do something slightly wrong you'll get docked several points. He expects so much out of an assignment, but you get used to it eventually. It is very overwhelming in the beginning. Tests are hard no matter how much I read I still wouldn't get a perfect score.
I LOVED this class. Dr. Marshall is very knowledgeable about psychology, and his lectures were very interesting. He lectured every class but every class was fun and interesting. He moved through the power points quickly so use the book to learn anything you miss. All tests are online and there is no final. I miss this class! It was amazing.
I'd recommend just reading the book over taking his class. Offers no substance in lectures and doesn't agree (or apparently know) what's in the book. When asked about answers marked incorrect, yet answer is verbatim from the book, he'll make up excuses for why he can't look at the discrepancies. Get prepared for pages of directions on simple tasks.
He is a tough man, his voice is too small during the lecture, it is easily to be kicked out in this class, hardly can get 4.0, checking out your phone you will be kick out
If you don't like online testing, don't take this class. I learned the hard way since I can't take my tests w/o getting flagged because I take too long (which I understand but I am used to pacing myself). His lectures are okay, I got more detail in the book. Sit up close since it can be hard to hear him even from the middle. No final just exam.
Dr. Marshall is great - has a lot of interesting comments to share during lecture, though he sometimes waxes political. Great thing is, you can skip lectures and still get a great grade if you read the book and study for the tests and quizzes. Not much homework - just online discussion (Hybrid class). Recommended.
Needs a therapist of his own. Before the work begins on the actual subject, you will be confused and overwhelmed on the most minute details of random common sense. Terrible.
Ah Jerry. Will not recommend. A stickler when it comes to phones. will kick you out if it is seen on desk. I took a hybrid psych 100 class. Lectures very boring, everything was online. So I stopped showing up as did half the class. Talks very quietly so hard to even hear his lectures. He will catch you cheating on online canvas quizzes or tests!!!!
He does not answer questions very well. I asked for more expansion on a topic and he literally refused. If you are interested in the field, find another intructor. Marshall does not provide more info/understanding than an intro level textbook. He is a basic and boring.
Oh man. Had him for PSYCH100 online, about to have him for PSYCH200 online. He is the ONLY professor that teaches online psych classes, unfortunately. VERY tough grader, it's actually ridiculous. Will give you a literal 0 if you don't phrase things the way he likes, even if you're right... I love Psych so much, but hate this professor :(
Assignments are interesting, but he's a pretty tough grader. Tests and quizzes are kinda tricky but not impossible. He seems like he doesn't enjoy teaching online classes, and it really shows. Textbook is definitely important, study closely as most of the exam questions are straight from the book.
Extremely particular with examples that are posted. Test over very specific details, you need to go above and beyond simply reading the chapters he assigns. Take notes on everything and make sure to study study study every tiny little thing in the chapters.
Lectures were never focused, and wandered off subject. Was ridiculous when it came to grading, marked down and things that didnt need to be marked down. When it came to test day nobody knew what was going on, in fact, everyone who sat near me would be like yup, we learned nothin from the lectures. Beyond frustrated.
The tests /quizzes are not "hard." However, if you take this online class make sure to read the chapter(s) and pay close attention to the bolded and italicized words in the book. Fet the main idea of each subsection. Some qestions ask trivial things so make sure to look at all the figures in the book too. You are recorded at home when you the tests
He would give us the wrong date when a test was coming up. I find myself unable to take it because it gets locked after a certain amount of time. The lectures start out as relevant to the chapter, but then slowly goes off topic.
If you want to learn psychology with your heart, I recommend taking his class. Dr. Marshall is very informative and he will give you realistic examples in his lectures. His sense of humor would prevent you from falling asleep with good laughs. Be active with your text book reading and pay attention to details. You won't have a hard time passing.
This class is one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. Your grade mainly depends on your test grades and the tests are very hard. And for the assignment, he is a tough grader and unless you do everything perfect you'll probably only get a 50%. If you're confused on something or you get something slightly wrong, he knockes off a ton of points.
Dr. Jerry Marshall is hands down the worst professor ive had at Green River and Ive been here for over two years. Avoid his class at all costs I wish I would've read his reviews before I took his class, for a 100 level class it seems as if he just tries to nitpick and find ways to take points off discussion posts. I don't know how he still has a job
The assignments are graded all or nothing so if you miss any small detail you will get docked quite a bit. The assignments arent hard if you follow the example he provides for every assignment. You can still get a decent grade if you do well on tests. The book is interesting to read, and overall I would take his class again.
Interesting and informative lectures, nice guy (if you stay on his good side), but absolutely ridiculous grader. He's also impossible to get ahold of outside of class definitely not taking a class from him ever again.
Sometimes says things that makes you feel uncomfortable.
I really enjoyed him as a teacher. His use of canvas is spot on and easy to navigate. He's passionate about the subject which is great. You have to read the textbook though. He's easy to reach through email and responds faster except weekends understandably. I'm taking him again for 200 right now. Also online.
He gives lectures and slides that have nothing to do with what will be on the quizzes and exams. During lectures, he would make at least half of the time talking about some other random things such as his love life and his pets. All the grades are muted or locked from you so you won't be able to see how you did in that class so avoid him if you can
Absolutely terrible professor. His test are super hard, even with a week worth of studying. His grades on canvas are muted so you can't even see if you're passing. You need a 99% to get a 4.0 so basically, only 1 person will get that. He says alot of things that make you feel uncomfortable. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST !
Taking psychology 100 with Jerry Marshall as my professor was one of the hardest things i have ever done. He gives horrible directions for assignments, is very unclear, he marks you down for the littlest things which can bring your grade down a lot. Tests and quizzes are very hard and lectures are irrelevant
Dr. Marshall lectures with the chapters assigned for reading. Weekly quizzes on 1-2 chapters, exams cover 2-3 chapters. Quizzes and exams are multiple choice but the questions are mostly application questions so they can be tricky if you do not have a good understanding of the chapter concepts. 1-2 discussion assignments to do on canvas.
He doesnt give good description at all. And when you try to ask him questions he says it in a way to make you feel uncomfortable and dumb. He also grades very picky and doesnt try to reason. Avoid him if you can.
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH THIS MAN! I'm not even done with the quarter and I already hate this man so much. He includes questions on tests that shouldn't be there and have barely anything to do with Psychology. He takes points off assignments for the most ridiculous reasons. He records you while you take online tests. He's just awful. Avoid him.
He does not answer questions in a timely matter. Even though some assignments are due on weekends, he refuses to answer his email on weekends. Second, for his online class, he gives minimal direction towards preparation for exams. There are no online lectures, so you have to read his PP to learn anything. Please, save yourself from this prof.
worst class of my life. I would say I'm a good student, but this class was the most difficult class ever. If you're looking for a good psychology teacher please register for Adam Wright instead of this guy.
Hes a horrible proffesor, hes a tough grader I have taken his class two times and both times I got a 76% in hes a class I needed a 3.5 but your not able to do it because hes really picky of everything even if you did a good job in your key points or class participation hes still will find something wrong with everything you do. Bad professor.
His quizzes and tests are ridiculously difficult. Some questions I swear we never even learned. He is very nit picky and will take points off for leaving out tiny details. There are 4 units. 3 discussions, 2 quizzes, and 1 test in each. The only good thing is whoever gets the highest grade gets a 4.0 and everyone else is graded based on that.
If you are taking this for an A your out of luck he is a VERY hard grader. Not many assignments so test and quiz heavy. If you read the book you will pass if you dont you will fail no matter how smart you are.
You can come to class all quarter but if you dont read & practically memorize the text book then you wont pass. Ive always had all As but this class was very confusing. Felt like i was a stand up & also he (doesnt like him) brings up donald trump for like every example he makes?
Quizzes and Tests were a breeze due to great PowerPoints and Belsky's text! The assignments were killer. He would always find a way to mark me down points. I would email him for clarity, but he never made me feel confident in what I should have done with my assignments. Very vague. Not helpful. Don't take this class, keep your dang dignity.
Get ready to work for your grade. You have to read a lot and reread chapters to understand the concepts. Exams are multiple choice and are application questions. Hes a tough grader so follow instructions so you dont lose points on assignments. The person with the highest grade gets a 4.0 and everyone elses grades are based off that.
His lectures didn't help with any of the tests/quizzes at all. Not very helpful with understanding the material either + is kind of condescending & makes you feel bad for not understanding the material. You're better off using the book, I skipped all his classes, studied off the book, & got a B for the whole course. Way too hard for a 100 course.
I was so excited for psych because I wanted to major In it and now I changed my mind because this class is so hard!! His tests were nothing like anything he taught us and I didn't recognize a lot of the material. His lectures are pointless because he talks about his life and things that wont be on the test. On the bright side he is funny.
His tests are completely different then the textbooks and he says if you read my textbook you will pass... I took so many practice quizzes, printed out extra material, studied on quizlet and I can't even get 80% on the exams. Half of the material on the tests is unrecognizable and not on his lectures or mentioned on any study materials. Stay clear.
Professor Marshall keeps the class very interesting with his humor and stories, but also makes you work hard for your grade. Most important thing to do is to read the textbook and make sure you understand the material. The test questions are usually scenario-based so you wont do well if you dont truly understand the concepts and definitions.
Prof Marshall is a very tough grader. I dont recommend his class at all. Docs points for stupid things even if you got the overall general point of assignment. Grades are locked so you cant see if you are passing or not. Ive never had a class this hard in my life. Literally crying and stressing out over this class. One of the worst teachers ever
Useless teacher
Please for your sanity dont take this class. Theyre are better psych profs at this college take those. I am so overwhelmed and frustrated with this class and him. I have never experienced anything like this. Please avoid this class at all cost, it will save you stress
Avoid this class youll thank me for it
Lectures were a waste of time. Tests completely based off of text book and specific details. He's condescending and unhelpful. I learned absolutely nothing from his class. I stopped attending completely and my grade stayed the same, his lectures are just him blabbing about random things instead of staying on topic. This class is just an elective :/
I believe that professor Marshall is a great teacher if youre serious about learning psychology. very funny too. Many people complain about him being a tough grader/bad teacher but its all about how much effort the student puts into learning the material. If you study your textbook and try your best on the assignments and tests, youll do fine.
Jerry Marshall is funny but his lectures isn't what's on the test. I showed up to class everyday read the book completely passed all the big tests and still failed the class! He's a tough grader and gets off topic easily. I took this class to major in psychology and now I kind of want to change my mind. Please don't take this class!
He's okay, though his lectures can be on the longer side. Always follow the scoring rubric, he takes lots of points off for the littlest things otherwise. I guess you'll pass by reading the lecture notes, but if you want that anything above a 3.6, you better spend all your free time working through the textbook. Grades on a curve.
This guy is probably the worst teacher I have ever had and I did not learn a single thing in the class that I did not already know. Yeah I got an A and I never read the textbook or watched the lectures but all of the information already made sense to me. To most people this class will be very challenging and you MUST read and watch lectures to pass
Tests are made to ensure that you know how to apply concepts, instead of simple problems such as defining terms. Your score is determined by dividing your score by the highest score in the class. All feedback/help that I received was poor or a repost of instructions for an assignment. TLDR: He is an amazing psychologist, but terrible instructor.
This professor is the worst!!! I took his class online and it is a requirement to pass his classes to not only read the book and take notes but also listen to him lecture on each chapter for two hours each. He tests on what he says in the lectures not what is in the book. Also his tests are timed, you have 10min to answer 10 questions.
Feedback are reposts of instructions. If you memorize ALL class material (lectures 1+ hrs per chapter, textbook, slides), you can barely pass. Grading is weird. 500 points total, all categories weighted equally. Final grade determined by your score divided by highest grade in class. Unable to view average grade total. Worst decision in 2020.
I took this class last year fall quarter. Test grades are determined by dividing your score by the highest score in the class. I got an easy 4.0 because I got 100% on most tests, but this made my friends get a low grade. Also, his lectures are not helpful at all. I just didn't attend his class and studied off the textbook. Honestly, don't take him.
Takes many points off for small things which I dont think is fair.
By far one of the hardest teachers at Green River. He doesn't respond to emails in a timely fashion and when he does he's very sarcastic and uncaring. I loved psychology before taking this class and unfortunately, I left his class learning nothing and feeling like my answers he never liked. He grades tests on scale which was my saving grace.
Get ready to drop your entire life for this class. Want to take another class or two while taking psych200 with Dr. Marshall, think again. This class will literally demand 20-25 hours worth of work each week. You will be reading each chapter, listen to lectures, doing multiple discussion posts, and also other assignments. THIS CLASS IS NO JOKE.
Took his class for 100&200 and wanted to rip my hair out. It was a lot of reading in short amounts of time. The test would have 55 questions on it but you would only have 50 mins to complete the test. So I would make sure you know everything because you do not have time to second question. Also, make you email him your topic for post days.
After seeing all of his ratings on here, I was hesitant to take his class but he was the only professor offered. However, after almost completely done with his class, the ratings are not fair. Its a college class. You have to listen to lectures, take notes, read the texts. Is this an easy class? no. But if you do the work, the tests are fair.
Hard grader for discussion posts. Gave me half credit for a discussion post because it was a technical error with canvas. Doesnt teach, all you do is read the textbook
These ratings are not quite fair. He is a hard grader sometimes but u just have to make sure to read the directions very carefully & ask him questions. He barely gives any work. He gives lots of time to study for exams. His exams are very difficult, but reading the book helps a lot. I improved a lot on exams. He grades on a curve which is amazing.
Mixed feelings. If you want/expect a 4.0, don't take the class. Tough grader/grades on a scale. His feedback on work was blunt/sarcastic. Not a lot of work/gives plenty of study time for quizzes/test. He's organized. Uses LB for quizzes/test. I aimed for 85-90% on all work/exams (which were moderate in difficulty) didn't over do it & did fine/ok.
Not the most pleasant professor to work with and I was unsure if he actually wanted us to succeed... I still learned a lot by having lots of practice applying my knowledge in discussions posts and exams. However you must be self-motivated. There are video lectures for 1-2 hours of your time on top of your hours of reading the textbook.
I was a bit skeptical of Dr. Marshall at first, but eventually, I realized that I chose a good class and teacher. My biggest mistake in this class was perceiving psychology as an English-based class. This is a science class. You are going to learn about the Scientific method, neurotransmitters, and brain anatomy. Just know that and you'll be fine!
Very sarcastic but also condescending. You have to pay super close attention to his directions because he will take points off for a little mistake. Lots of reading and isnt super helpful but does reply in a timely manner. I personally wouldnt take any of his classes again because he made psychology unbearable.
I am usually an A student and my gpa was a 4.0 before this class. When I emailed Prof. Marshall asking what I could do to improve in his class he directed me to the syllabus and didn’t do much else. He is very blunt and sarcastic and I would avoid his class at all costs. Grades on a curve. 8 quizzes 4 tests. Uses LDB
Dr. Marshall is the most sarcastic professor I have encountered at green river. The first class he seemed open and caring but once we got further into the quarter it was constant nitpicking and condescending grading remarks. His lectures were quite boring too and it seemed like he was never satisfied with the classes group discussions.
Honestly, he isnt as bad as he seems. I wish others had a better experience or maybe its bc I took his class for summer quarter. He makes video lectures too and they are helpful but boring. From someone who had to retake psych 200 after failing due to slacking, this class with him is manageable. He grades on a curve. I ended w/ a B+ :) Good luck!
Your grade is essentially based on quizzes and exams. There is very little "homework" as in outside assignments besides the quizzes and exams which basically just means that if you flunk an exam, you're screwed. He was a very knowledgeable professor and I feel that if there wasn't so much pressure on the exams, I might've actually had fun.
Not the best!
This class was not necessarily hard, just a lot of quizzes and tests with little help on studying. Unless you are willing to read the entire textbook, your grade will not be great. I do like the 10 question quizzes, as they are easy to complete, but they become pointless when you take 3 at a time.
Grade is based on tests quizzes and discussions. Requires lockdown browser. Good and easy course for good testers. Don't take if you don't test well. You need to study and read the textbook to pass, lectures do not cover it all. Gives good feedback for discussions.
Save yourself from taking this teacher his grading is difficult he will take away points from discussion board just for missing one question my final grade was a 73 percent but he ended up giving me a F when grades were posted he did not give me a reason why my grade was changed I had to find out two days after grades were posted.
I took this professor and when I came to him telling him I was struggling i was not helped. I continued to study and take extensive notes but nothing changed. Uses LDB questions based off thinking rather than facts and/or taught material. Long lectures 4 modules. 3 quizzes + 1 test(LDB)+discussion(s) per module. However the information was great
Terrible. Takes half the points off for not numbering. Contradicts himself. Says he didn't say something in his lecture when he did. Not enough time for tests. Lots of reading. The lectures felt slow. Discussions were the worst. He would mark you low if you said something that goes against his beliefs, but is psychology proven. Makes no sense fam.
The instructor is there for help, best in person or zoom meeting than email. Heavy lectures and tough grader. Reading 2 chapters once a week was overwhelming.
the WORST professor I've ever had in my entire existence. Very condescending when replying to my questions via email. I'll save you some time, DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Don't ever take this class! This professor is a tough grader who doesn't care about you. His lectures are extremely long, and his test doesn't typically match up the lecture as well. His lecture and tests don't even match up, you just have to guess. He adds random info that doesn't exist in the lecture. Just don't ever take his class. I wanna drop.
I do not recommend this teach, as is lectures are way to long and does not have clear helping hand.
This is absolutely for those who aren't already busy with other classes AND are good test takers. Hours of your day will be taken up by studying the study guides and video lectures both of which do not prepare you for the quizzes/tests. Both the quizzes and tests require a lockdown browser, and you need your camera on for the tests. WNR!!
Honestly, I loved this teacher and class a lot, it wasn't hard at all, you can do really well on tests/quizzes if you take good notes and Google. Everyone saying they didn't like this teacher probably didn't pay attention a lot bc it was a great class, he does do quizzes and tests on every chapter though that's the only bad part.
His tests are difficult but he grades everything on a curve so it shouldn't be too hard to get a decent grade in his class. He is super knowledgeable and responds quickly. I hate how he makes us copy and paste in the group discussions. He is a tough grader but does explain instructions well.
Awfully nit-picky, and dare I say even mean at times with responses to your assignments. It's hard to want to continue trying when you are being borderline berated by your teacher. Do everything in your power to submit assignments EARLY, as verified reasoning is useless. He does give one day grace period which is ONE plus.
I enjoyed this class, although do not expect it to be easy. You have to be willing to study if you want to do well, and take notes. I do find that often times topics skimmed over are in exams, which can be frustrating, but it seems he is self aware that he makes hard questions because of the way he grades.
He is the worst instructor I ever had in my entire life . He never give credit or give a chance to improve your assignments. He is blunt or sarcastic on giving feedback. He is not very helpful. I felt overwhelemed since the beginning of the class. He seems caring but is not. I will not recommend him to any friends and relatives to take his class.
This teacher is terrible at making test questions. His grammar so unprofessional. He never gives us any practice problems to be ready for tests or quizzes. The only good thing in this class is that it is graded on a curve. So hope the top student does not get 100.
Terrible grammar and misleading questions that are not worth your time at all. The lecture is extremely heavy but yet the Professor does not understand his own material. After working for 20 years I expected the Professor to be more professional but he was not at all in his assignments. Don't take this class unless you want a challenge, take it.
The class can be challenging, with long lectures and tricky tests. However, taking good notes and using resources like unstuckstudy ai for study prep can really help. The professor may not be the most approachable, but put in the effort and you can do well.
I took his class during the summer, so there were fewer discussions and assignments. Though, his lectures were quite long, ranging from 15 to 30 minutes each. But I treated his lectures like a podcast. Also, there was a quiz and a test that required the camera to be on since I took it online. And there were also weekly discussion boards.
I really wanted to like Dr. Marshall. I picked his class before checking the rate of my professor, which is a mistake I will never make again. He doesn't even need to teach. I would write more, but there is a 350-character limit here. Take a different instructor who actually cares about their students.
**Would not recommend.** Despite a 3.9, the course was frustrating. Lectures were from 2010, and communication with Professor Marshall was dismissive. Instructions were often unclear, and tests/quizzes lacked proper timelines and feedback, making it hard to feel confident in the material. Class size dropped from 28 to 14.
Professor does not respond to email or discussion board questions, which makes asking for clarification on topics quite difficult. He's really rude about missed points, but since he doesn't respond to emails it's even more disheartening to get "feedback" from him. Class was graded on a curve, but that doesn't fix you not learning anything in class.
I'd rather eat dust then be in this guys class bro , he doesn't even try to be a teacher he's dismissive . People who are saying it's easy probably cheated run away from this class or this teacher he's bi polar
This Teacher gives us material to study but when it comes to test, the questions are not from the materials we study and when you tell him, he says that no you studied wrong. His lecture recording are old. He does not want to help, he responds to email very slow. Do not take his class, YOU WILL REGRET ITTT
Not an easy class - not an impossible one either. Your grade is based off a curve, so it won't be terrible as long as nobody scores a perfect 100. Dr. Marshall gives very detailed feedback and his instructions are extremely thorough. 1 chapter, quiz, test (LDB) every week + occasional discussion. In order to pass, just plan well and study hard.
The tests never have the material from the stuff we study and I failed every test after spending hours and hours studying. I feel like no matter how good you do you can't be right. He takes forever to grade things and doesn't help even though he says he's glad to. He's not.
He's well organized. 2-3 tests and quizzes in every module. They are application questions. Just do your best on the discussions I don't think anyone gets those right in the way he likes. Didn't appreciate his feedback on discussions, he can be a little rude or insensitive, doesn't really care if you succeed type of feel.
Professor Marshall was an okay professor with difficult work. There really wasn't much class work, just discussions, quizzes and tests. Prepare for the quizzes and tests to be on the lockdown browser app, which do scan your face and are timed. Textbook & lecture heavy, which were overwhelming and almost a waste of time, except during discussions.
Prof. Marshall wasn't a bad teacher; his way of teaching just did not suit my style of learning. Your learning is fully from textbooks with a few lectures that do add a bit more but not much, and there are not assignments besides tests and quizzes. He is a VERY TOUGH GRADER, but he does grade on a curve which helps slightly. Not too bad for online.
He's an okay teacher, but his feedback isn't helpful—often just “ok” or “fine”—and still gives low grades. Instructions lack clarity, and he's very specific about what he wants. Tests are difficult and don't always make sense. Lectures feel outdated. Use of a camera during tests adds stress. Read the book and study hard!
I could not have find a way to appease Mr. Marshall. In discussion boards, he claimed he wanted just information from the textbook, but even that didn't satisfy him. Quizzes were often on things vaguely mentioned in the materials. While the textbook was great, and I learned a lot, not even our communication over what was happening made a change.
He wasn't too terrible, but not good either. I didn't like his way of grading, and he grades on a curve, which I also didn't like. Says there are right answers on a discussion board, I get almost all right, and he gives me an 8/20 on it. All grades are based on tests and quizzes, and I'm a terrible test taker. Would not recommend.
Don't take this class unless you learn very fast and on your own. Lockdown browser and camera/ mic on during tests/quizzes. So many quizzes/tests, a lot of reading and little time to memorize or learn anything. VERY strict grader on discussion posts.
I strongly disliked the tests because they didn't really make sense and were just way too hard, and I promise it wasn't my fault because if you studied for hours (as I did) you still wouldn't be getting a good grade. The discussions were bad too he only sometimes gives full points. He's very strict on what he wants. He seems sweet in the 1st disc.
