Very understanding and clear. Will go over and over the material untill you understand. Very nice and more then willing to help.

Very helpfull and funny. I stayed awake in his early morning class!! He goes over the material and makes sure everyone understands. He gives pleanty opportunity for one to raise their grades and pass the class.

Mr. Mayfield is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He will personally help you one on one if you need it. You are given ample opportunity to do well in the class. Everything on a test is something he has gone over several times. I will take more classes of his for sure.

Jerry Mayfeild is a very nice man. he will go through the material over and over several times. All his test questions are homework problems and the similar pattern are taught in the class. his review is very helpful and also give partial credits. His Assignment grade replaces your lowest test score and also drops any one test you flunked.

A good teacher. Likes to teach and is always open to helping his students. His grading system is pretty harsh, but he is thourough in his reviews. Recommended!

He was awesome. Was not expecting to get an A in his class, but he helped me out so much. He worked with me outside of class when I missed a class and was very encouraging. I definitely recommend him. He was great!

Mr. Mayfield is an excellent teacher. He honestly loves what he does, which shows. He is very smart, but does not belittle you for not knowing everything. He doe have certain expectations, but this is college. He will help you outside of class and give more than enough chances to get a good grade. I actually learned something, and got an A.

Mr. Mayfield is a wonderful teacher. He teaches very step by step and will wait on students. He gets behind in class very easily which means he postpones things a lot. Homework is not mandatory. He is VERY sarcastic and says really dumb jokes on purpose. He's only kidding. The tests are relatively easy bc they are directly from homework questions.

Mayfield is the best math teacher I've EVER had. He is funny, engaging, and fair. He'll work with you and your schedule as long as you work hard. I got an easy A in trig a few semesters ago. There are multiple opportunities (quizzes, midterm, final) for extra credit.

I had him for college algebra in the spring and he is an awesome teacher. he gives many opportunities for extra credit and really wants his students to pass. I recommend him for college algebra

very nice helpfull professor.if you do the hw there was no way to fail this class. however, sometimes he would get confused between classes. he would talk about other subjects and then rush to covert the material.

He is really funny, but he goes off on tangents a lot! If you take his class be ready to use your textbook A LOT. He always gives bonus points on tests! Be ready to teach yourself math if your not outspoken and ask questions in class. Overall he's a cool teacher that is always willing to help outisde of class and loves his job.

Best math teacher I've ever had. He actually knows what he's talking about and explains WHY something is instead of just expecting you to know it. He gives out a lot of extra credit if he sees that you're really trying. You can tell that his goal is for everyone to pass math and know what they're doing.I took all my math classes with him!

He's pretty good at teaching but one of his weak points is that he goes off of tangents from the subject being taught in class. When it came to DeMoivre's Theorem, it was very difficult to understand what Mr. Mayfield was talking about. I would like to recommend him as a trig professor, however, one must be cautious when studying by themselves.

I took this class in the summer, so he left out a chapter or two. It was very hard for me. I had to study all the time. He's not rude, but if you read the chapter ahead of time, you wouldn't ask dumb questions. He doesn't like dumb questions. I had to get a tutor because some chapters were confusing. I failed the first test, but I still got an A!

He's knowledgable of the subject. This is my second math class that I have him. Again he is too dependent on the test, despite the fact tht most of his tests are hard. I wish he could give some test reviews which count as test grade. Also when he says tht he allows service learning he should give 100 points, divided by 7 tests, thus giving students 14.2857 points for each tests ( two tests are the midterm and finals ). Hopefully he reads this and other reviews and change his grading.

This person treats everyone equally..makes lecture actually fun by crackin jokes all the time...wasn't a single class period when i didn't laff...had my own problems so cudn't focus in his class..abt to drop it bt gave me makeup tests and gave me an overall C instead of a deserving D !! Thank you Sir !!!

He's knowledgable of Calculus. Not very open with the grading; heavily dependent on the tests!!!!! Do the homework if you want to get a good grade. He says tht they will help you, even if they r not counted as part of the grade.

Mayfield is one of my favorite profs ever. I had him for 5 math classes at NLC. If you're willing to work, you'll get a good grade. He's not always the best at explaining things, but he gives you hw that helps you figure it out. He has an inverted bell curve. So if you do your hw, you very well may get an A, if you don't, you fail.

He's one of the best professor in north lake. He gave lots of credits thru his quizzes. The tests were exactly like his homework problems. Take him and get an A. Bestest ever! If you dont get an A with him then go back to your highschool.

Mayfield is my favorite math professor. He knows his subject and loves it and is willing to help you outside of class all semester long. I took College Algebra with him and will be taking Trig & Calc with him as well. He's not strict on attendance, it's just hard on your understanding if you miss even one class. Review days help for tests!

Professor Mayfield is the best mathematics professor. I have taken all my math courses with him and have learned so much unique things. If you really want to learn math choose Mayfield.

I dont understand why people complain about him. Hes very funny and keeps u engaged throughout the class. If u think hes bad, then u should drop out of college. Seriously, u have to be really lazy to get lower than an A or at least a B. hes great. Plenty of oppurtunities to get an A. Definitely recommend him. The best.

Awesome professor!4 tests, 10 questins 10pts each and one bonus question wc is also 10 points. PLUS 1 midterm wc replaces a lower grade PLUS 1 final wc replaces another lower grade. Lots of chances to make up for bad grade. Mandatory attendance cos he gives quizzes. Averaged quizzes will replace another test grade if higher than lowest test grade

He's hilarious!!! Has a GREAT sense of humor. My class is laughing half the time! but all jokes aside, he's not easy. but he's not difficult either. let's just say he's fair. you will actually learn something. he's very picky while grading. Don't forget dx's or +C's when integrating. gives LOTS of chances to improve grade. DON'T miss those!

The absolute BEST professor I had for math! He is hilarious which makes the class so fun! I enjoyed going to this class. one of the best classes I've took. You must work hard and pay attention. His class is def worth it!!!!

With the required online textbook and the professor himself this class is difficult to fail. He is a tough grader and takes off points if you don't follow his expectations and guidelines. Although a little tough, he does offer help to anyone who asks and has given a few extra credit opportunities. He is very passionate about his job and very funny.

Great teacher to bad he's retiring. He gives many opportunities to raise your grade. The only thing that's bad if his grading but you should be good if you want to learn and you don't slack off like I did.

He's a pretty cool professor. He's helpful and very kind. It's a shame he's retiring! I wish he wasn't because he puts so much time in helping his students. He was tough at times but it only made me strive to be excellent.
