Mult choice exams. Tough quizes. Funny lectures.

This guy doesn't grade on a curve. So if you're close to tops in the class with an 89, you get a B+. He hurt my GPA.

Honestly..he's relatively easy. He tries to be a hard-ass in the beginning, so people can think he's hard. But he's actually really nice and concerned about his students. He usually passes everyone. I got an A-, and I didn't do jack****.

deducts points if you miss exams regardless. gives 2 point nonesense quizzes, exams are multiple choice. this guy is like a military dude. I'm not sure if I was ever comfy in my seat. he makes marketing not too fun. take someone else.

Easy class, easy professor. He's kinda picky but still, its an easy class. midterms and final were pretty easy. only thing to watch out for in his pop quizzes, although easy, caught me offguard a couple of times.

I thought he was a very fair teacher. Exams are straight forward.

A _wonderful_ professor who teaches you what is truly necessary to succeed in the field. He also tries to teach lame-os a life lesson - if you are late to a meetings, you will fail. If you are unprepared, you will fail. Take advantage of his knowledge!

He is not that bad as I was told. You can guess when pop quizes will be. Tests are not bad. Sometimes even funny

Although he is a little arrogant, I think he made me work hard. If he wasn't strict, I would half ass it, so I'm glad he wasn't too easy on us. He is confusing b/c he wants short quiz answers, but yells like a madman if we're done early.

teaches material based on his own experiences. be careful on quizzes, those are killing me. Class is decent but not giving me the grade that I worked for.

Great Teacher. He HATES lazy late people. I do too!!! This is college people should be on time and studying its about time theres a teacher that says something. Class is not too hard.

I thought he was one of the best teachers I hd at sjsu. Very smart and interesting. Will scare you at first but he really is not that hard nor scary. Just study the text a lot and you can get a good grade.

Yeah, he's a little demanding, but what you do in this class is basically the same as any other class. Just take good notes, show up every day and skim over the readings and you'll be fine.

Take Sibley instead! Class is not difficult to pass, but he tries to scare everyone from day one. He is a very grizzled, bitter, and sarcastic, but he will help you. Majority of classes are free research days(thank god!). I gained nothing from this class.

The people who complain about him are the ones that usually don't pass and have an adgenda. Thomas is a GREAT professor, probably one of the best at SJSU. He cares a lot about his student's success. He's not difficult if you put forth a COLLEGE effort!!!

no h.w, just read & study from lecture. 5quizzes, 3midterms,1non-comm.final.Quizzes are hard, thery are more like exams takes 1hr to finish them. You will learn more about business & industry than mktg. He is funny. He cares about his good students.

Great teacher, and I got a C-. In anycase, he was EXTREMELY difficult, demanded you be there, in your seat, ready to go. Otherwise, he'd embarrass you. I didn't care though. I enjoyed his class, and would take him again.

He tries to scare you the fist few weeks. If you read the book his test questions come straight from that, with a few from lectures here and there. Quiz's are much harder than exams. I got a B in the class even though I got a D on one midterm.

Have to read every single word on textbook many times. However, will get A. Very helpful. Ask a question and he will give you bounch of information. Must study very very hard. Preview and review are very important to get a high grade.

I got an A in this class, but I had to come to class everyday and be ontime. No HW, and little bit of reading. I recomend it if you want a HW free class,no term papers or projects. Watch out for the quizzes. I highly recomend. He is grumpy, but challenges students very well. I loved this class.

Class itself isn't very hard and the teacher is very clear and passionate. You MUST read and go to class. Class sessions are not boring and are actually interesting. He comes as off hardcore but softens up a bit. He will joke around in class which is refreshing. He can be picky on the quizzes which equal 15% of grade. Overall, good teacher.

The class was fun. He is kinda strict but the class is pretty easy as long as you show up and read. Not really any HW and his tests are pretty straightfoward.

He seems mean, but is a really nice person. He likes to help people that really want to learn. Exams are not difficult. Just really read. I recommend him

This is the only class I have ever seen a class full of students for almost every session since attending SJSU. This dude scares you on the first day, but don't be. Don't ever get caught falling asleep in class because he'll put you in the spot. Getting a B shouldn't be hard because he tells you what is expected on exams. Take him if you have to.

Great teacher. Other people have mentioned that he is hard on non business majors but this is not the case at all, I am an advertising major and still got an A in this class. Although he is dificult, the class is well worth it.

He is really nice and the class was fun. Try to come to class, follow instructions, take notes, and read the book, you will do fine. Don't have to do lot of work in his class. I recommend him.

Class is out of 100 points. (3)-20 point exams (5)- 5 point unannounced quizzes (1)-25 point final. Needless to say, every point counts! He is very picky on quiz points and exams include some hard questions. Not an easy class, but passable. ROUGH DRAFT, SIR YES SIR!

This guy knows his stuff! Make sure you participate in class and ask questions if you don't understand something. He takes the time to make sure you understand. Very accessible if you need help. Definitely recommend him!

Thomas is an awesome teacher. His lectures are always entertaining and informative. He always has stories to tie in with the concepts. If you read the book you will get a good grade, bottom line. No suprises. Highly recommend Thomas for BUS 130.

Go to class, take notes and be prepared for quizes. He gives a review of the mid-term, all MC questions. He thinks he's a preacher, but over all there is no homework and his tests are straight forward.

Dont take this teacher if you are looking for an easy class. 5 Pop quizes and 3 midterms and a final. He is a very analytical teacher and pays attention to EVERY DETAIL! His test are also tricky even though he says that he doesnt write trick questions....they are.

He's a good teacher, and smart. However, if you do not read 100% of the book and go to class every day, you'll preobably get an 'F.'

Very interesting instructor and grading very strict. hard to get an "A" but still do-able.

Ok, you HAVE to read the book and the chapters he assigns to do well on the exams. About 10 questions will come from the lecture. His lectures are usually boring and have nothing to do with the reading assignment, so going to class is crucial. Has pop quizzes from prior class meeting and rarely curves. Take every point you can!

His lectures are boring but it is a good idea to take notes. The reading is easy and his tests are mostly based on the reading. He is helpfull I would recommend this prof. because no projects are required.

Really knows his stuff. good teacher. but strict and hard grader. definately study the book and go to every class [pop quizes]. he is a funny teacher. doesn't lecture from the book. relates material to real life. take him is you want a challenge. for a 730 am class. he kept it interesting enough to stay awake. i got a b+ but studied my ass off!

this professor is funny and entertaining, but his class is difficult. However, he is good with office hours, even though he might make you feel slightly belittled.

Prof. Thomas is not an easy teacher by any means but he does supply students with useful information. Could be clearer with instruction for sure. Do EXACTLY what he says and you'll do fine. Apply textbook and lecture notes to tests along with real-life experiences and you'll be good to go.

I think people who have commented previously giving terrible reviews of this teacher need to think long and hard if college is really the place for them to be. I showed up to the majority of the classes, did no reading and got a B-. If you show up to class and pay attention, getting a B should be no problem.

make sure u go to ALL lectures, gives pop quizzes that are worth a lot. exams are from the book, but he does not cover anything from the book in lectures. 99% of the crap he says in lecture is not even on the exams. READ THE BOOK BACKWARDS & FORWARDS FOR A GOOD GRADE!! real nice guy & very helpful.

Dr. Thomas may have high expectations, but come on!! It is UPPER division- it's not supposed to be easy. Reading the book is not just about seeing the words, but also being able to apply the concepts in a meaningful way. His expectation of work ethic should be admired and respected, not belittled. What's wrong with actually studying in college??

Very knowledgeble proffessor. Class is definitely not easy but you learn A LOT of book materials as well as the real business world out there. He can make the class entertaining to you better make sure you do your part of a "good student" as well. It may be hard/harsh sometimes, he makes you realize that it's even harder out there.

As Dr. Thomas says, an 'A' level student in another class is a 'C' level student in my class. I believe it to be true. He really wants you to excel beyond the norm. His lectures are entertaining, but not always 100% clear. He wants you to read between the lines. Tests are difficult with lots of 'conceptual level' questions.

He is tough, if you don't want to work hard for your grade, don't join this class. I recommend taking his introduction to marketing for any marketing majors though; it'll make your other courses easier. He comes off as a hard ass, but he cares about the students and gives hidden extra credit and curves. Don't skip class, you'll regret it.

Dr. Thomas is a brilliant instructor, but his class will scare you at first. He writes his own tests (and claims he's the only one who does for that course). It is VERY important that you go to every class. He gives 5 unannounced quizzes that are meant to help you (easy). I bombed the first test but recovered the rest to pass. Take extensive notes!

stereotypical college professor. just give him respect in class and its easy. sit there and listen to him tell stories and read the chapters at home and youll pass easily. the tests he makes are far more straight forward then any test by the book manufacturer.

He is one of the best and hardest teacher at SJSU. Class looks extremely hard at beginning, but he curves and gives few extra credits. But you will have to memorize the text and notes.

He lies: He and the syllabus say that quizzes and exams will be M/C, and then he springs essay questions. He fails to tell you he gives negative points for wrong answers (e.g. possible to get below a zero in class) until after the drop deadline. He grotesquely misquotes Adam Smith. Pros: He is engaging, and you will not fall asleep in his class.

I had Dr. Thomas' Mktg Management Class my last semester at SJSU. Best real life prep for the real world there is. Everything he teaches you can be applied to life after college. You want to get a leg up on everyone else after college, take his class. My co-workers were all from Berkeley & Stanford, I was promoted before them. Be on time! :)

I enjoyed his class. Take careful notes. He doesn't always agree with the textbook. Unique perspective none of the usual regurgitation often seen in other classes. Prepare well for his tests. MCQ but difficult. If only he used the internet more.

Professor Thomas isn't jaded unlike many other professors I can think of. He's a top quality lecturer, and he always keeps the class entertained. His grading system is very difficult, but as long as you go to class, read the book, take decent notes, and study the questions in the back of the book, this class is a total breeze.

Wants his students to ask questions in class. He requires the textbook written by himself and assigns a few page reading, approximately 15 pages, after every lecture. Midterm, Quizzes, and Finals are based on lecture and assigned reading. One exam, either midterm or final, would be open book. If you read everyday, you can get a good grade.

I really like this instructor. He is very clear about subject matter and material to be covered on the exams. He makes you feel comfortable in the class. I hope my other SJSU teachers are as good as him.

At 1st I was worried I was going to fail because he made it seem like it would be ver hard to pass.I actually enjoyed his class I attended every lecture and the book required is written by him easy to understand and is cheap! There are 4 tests worth 25 points each. If you read& listen to the lectures youll do well.Never studied and received a B!
