Mr. West is a wonderful teacher, he kind of makes math make more sense. He is very helpful and will take the time to listen and get you back on track

Mr West is a wonderful teacher and makes maths very enjoyable, he has changed my perspective about maths and if you are serious and do your work, you can pass every single one of his class, look out for him!

Wow! What can I say? He is an awesome teacher. I flat out thought I could never do this and I have an A. You will love math if you take it from Jerry West and he will definitely build your confidence. Highly skilled at making things simple and easy to understand.

Jerry West is by far the best teacher i have ever had in my entire life he makes solving quadratic functions so simple i truly believe a six year old could pass his class not because he gives people breaks, but because his teaching style is one that should be standardized. plain and simple he makes math fun and easy to learn

Mr. West brings out your desire to know learn math again! His teaching method is superb and he makes all the technical terms sound like one of the idiots guide, really easy. I don't know what to tell you if you walk out of his class and leave with nothing. If you see him available for a class you need you better take him you wont be disappointed.

I *hate* math. But Mr. West made it understandable. It was the first time in my life I ever felt smart about numbers :P

Jerry's a nice Guy. Great teacher. Makes everything very simple. Little homework. He's laid back. Just plain cool. If I had one compliant, it would be his lack of mathematical grammer. "Combine like terms" becomes "Squish 'em together". Fine for a remedial level, but it doesn't reinforce the language that our next professor wil slinging around.

Dude can teach. I hadn't had a math class in 8 years and I had to take Trig. He really helped me out. Ego isn't an issue. Great teacher!!!!

Mr. West is the greatest math teacher I've ever had. I learned more from his class in 5 weeks than I ever had! He's fun and laid back, he really encourages you! One of the most positive people I've ever met! I would recommend anyone taking Mr. West. I can almost guarantee you'll love him!

If there was only one phrase to describe Mr. West's courses: The best the ever will be. He makes math seem extremely easy and exciting. And he can teach you everything you need to know in half the time other instructors can.

i am the worst when it comes to math but he made it so simple i felt like i was a genius in his class! Straight A's all the way! He really does know how to break it down so even if you've never seen math before, you'll understand every bit of it at the end of class. WOULDN'T recommend ANYONE ELSE BUT HIM!

I was really nervous about having algebra, but Mr. West is the best teacher. He is extremely helpful and makes class interesting. If you get the chance to take him for Math please do you wont regret it. This class is an easy A if you just pay attention to what he has to say!!!!

Had Mr. West for Intermediate Algebra. He is awesome, he breaks down Algebra so that you understand it. He gives everyone a chance to understand before moving on. Loved his class! :))

Professor West is terrific. I cannot find words for how amazing this professor really is. You have to work in the class, but as long as you follow his directions and do the home-work you will do well! He is a teacher, a friend, and overly terrific! Recommend over ANY mathematics instructor.

Jerry West is an interesting and excellent math instructor. When you can put those two words in the same sentence about a math instructor, you know you can't go wrong! His superb teaching methods make it next to impossible to make less than an A. He has been an inspiration to me and should be to educators/future educators as a whole.

Excellent instructor, very laid back, very prepared to help students any way he can. Great sense of humor, very smart man with the skills to pass on that knowledge.

If you take Jerry West for your professor, you should be expecting a really high grade and results on every exam and quizzes that you take. If ever need help, just ask him, he would be more then likely to help you out. Also, he is a easy going person. I recommend you take him for any math classes if he is available.

Good Teacher! As long as you come to class you should pass. Homework is online and his tests are over exactly what the homework is. I had no trouble in this lass. He is a great teacher!

The BEST Math instructor I have ever had! And I had Cassellman for College Algebra. Mr West LOVES for his students to be successful in Math. By far the most caring instructor I've ever had. Take him if you can!

Dr. West is awesome! On the very first day, he walks in and says "this is gunna be the most laid back math class youll ever have" and it is.

Dr.West is the BEST professor I probably will ever have! If you have the option to take any of his classes, do it! He will help you until you fully understand and teaches in a way that makes it easy to understand. No need to buy the textbook because his teaching simplifies everything it says. GREAT PROFESSOR!

You will not regret taking statistics with Dr.West, I had him for algebra and just took statistics. All tests and quizzes were on my labs plus and I felt very prepared for all of them. He also dropped the lowest test grade! Nicest and most caring professor I've ever had!

Definitely one of the best teachers I've ever had. Is very clear on how to do the work. His lectures consist of working through the homework problems with you and answering any and all questions asked. He makes the homework and tests available weeks in advance to give you more than enough time to get it all done when you have the chance. 1110

I failed calculus the first time I took it, and Professor West is a life savor. He made Calculus so easy to understand, I honestly wanted to cry when I passed his class with an A. He walks through all the problems, and tests/homework is exactly like the homework, just different numbers. Take him at all costs. I would take him again if I could.

Dr. West He is definitely the best math instructor at UAFS, if not the state. I took Cal 1 with him while home for the summer. It's a tough subject but he does everything step by step, works whatever problems you ask, will override HW grades if you work extra with him, and lets the class dictate the exam reviews. Best. Ever.

If you are looking for a professor that actually cares about his students and that is willing to work with you then look know further this professor is one of a kind. He is always willing to help and he is good at what he does. I was super nervous about taking this class but I passed with an A and had no trouble at all. I highly recommend.

He is an awesome professor! I was terrified of having Probability and Statistics full online but he made the class great! He really wants his students to succeed! I highly recommend him!

If you're good at Algebra, this class is just a review, i recommend to go to class so that you understand your homework way better. Homework, Quizzes and Tests are online, and they aren't hard at all. He's really chill and is really easy to get along with. He'll answer all your questions about anything you may not have understood.

Best math teacher around. He presents math so that is understandable. I was not good at math in high school at all. I have had two classes with Dr. West and have A's in both. He drills equations and formulas into you head daily so you don't have any other choice than to learn them. Very nice, and very easy to get along with

Best math teacher you will find. He is so nice and understanding. I'm pretty sure I didn't have an A but he rounded me up anyway! Attendance will help you greatly but it is not required. All the work is online and you get a couple attempts for each quiz and test.

Dr. West clearly shows you how to solve the problems. He walks you through every step. Take notes, and you'll pass everything. He uses MyMathLab, which sucks, but you get unlimited tries on homework and 5 attempts at quizzes, so keep trying til you make 100%. My class got out 30 minutes early nearly every day.

Dr. West is the best math prof you will find. I highly recommend to take him for CAL1 and Cal2 if you want to get a good grades. But he teach those class in summer only which is sucks but worth time and money.

Awesome class. I had him for college algebra and he made it so easy to understand. He explained things very well and took his time explaining them and answered any question you had. His tests were easy as long as you studied with the study guide before hand. He uses math labs for homework and quizzes. Make sure you do those assignments.

To be honest i hate math, but Mr. West is by far the best professor i have had at UAFS. He walks you through the problems step by step as well as showing you easier ways to do things. He gives you study guides before tests and tests are easy if you study. Would HIGHLY recommend for any math class. He is also easy to rach outside of class.

I had to take beginning algebra and intermediate algebra before I could even take regular college algebra and Dr. West helped me understand it. Do all the homeworks and quizzes and show up for review days to know EXACTLY what is going to be on the tests. I registered in this class thinking I might not do well and came out with an 89%.

Before taking Jerry West's class, I was struggling to understand Cal 2. I initially failed the course with another teacher, but West made it so much easier to understand. I took him over the summer and he's pretty forgiving grade wise for a math teacher. I ended up with an A and a much better understand of Cal 2. Too bad I switched my major lol.

I wasnt sure what to expect going into his class except I knew he was highly regarded. I had him for Calc I in the summer, so a condensed class, but it wasnt that hard at all. The good thing about Dr. West isnt so much what he does right, though he does teach clearly, but more than he doesnt do anything wrong really, very to-the-point.

Let me tell you, Jerry West knows what he's doing. Took Calc 1 summer with him and now doing calc 2. This man knows what students struggle with and he will do all that he can to make sure everyone knows the material. Greatest professor I've ever had.

If you are considering taking West, please do. You will not regret it! He makes class fun and his easy going personality is great. He explains everything so that everyone gets it, and he is so helpful.

if you're looking for a class to knock out your math credit, TAKE HIM! literally the easiest math class ever even if you're not good at math all the hw is online and you can take unlimited attempts at and get all 100 on. he does have an attendance sheet. normally lets us out 30 min before class ends and gives us 1 laptop day each week.

I took Professor West for Cal I Math 2804. I haven't had a math course in over 10 years. He taught his class so well and everyone understood it. No one was left in the dark, unless they normally skipped class. He is very understanding and even helped me with my other math courses outside of his. I HIGHLY recommend him. You won't regret it. :)

Best professor i have taken at uafs!! truly an eazy A!!

Very good professor - his explanations are easy to understand. His study material for tests is easily accessible and useful for studying. He is very understanding on absence and late work, and tries his best to help you out. He uploads class notes to google drive, has notes explanation on youtube, and all his assignments(not tests) are on cengage.

Dr. West is truly an amazing professor. I did not say that his class was easy because the material was easy - the class was easy because he made it so easy to understand. His notes are straightforward and simple and he gives so many resources such as youtube video explanations made by him for extra help. He is such a caring professor. 11/10!

Prof. West assigned a quiz during fall break and I did not realize - because it was fall break! - and I received a zero. West would not let me make it up even for half credit. I received a B in the class because of this. Other than that, he teaches well and shows you examples.

I had Dr. West for all the fall semester with two classes (Trig and College Algebra). Dr.West is THE BEST professor ever meet before, his notes are easy to understand and if you having trouble understanding, you can go to his office hours and he WILL help you for sure. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO FAIL HIS CLASS.

An easy class if you do your homework and practice exams. He tries his best to explain new material and encourages students to ask questions if they don't get a new concept.

There's a reason why Dr. West is among the highest rated at this university. An absolute sweetheart and singlehandedly the best professor I've had. Breaks down concepts simply and gracefully. Other professors at UAFS should take note of what it means to be a true scholar and teacher like Dr. West is. I'm looking at you, Computer Science department.

The lectures explain everything very well. He makes sure to ask the class for questions. He also makes it a point to learn students names. He goes over examples of what the homework will be in class. Gives you practice tests so you can be prepared. I would definitely take more of his classes.

Super kind and will always do his best to help you understand the content. I struggle with math, but he still made the content clear and easy to learn. Last week of the semester, you can make up any past due work and drop the lowest test grade. Average difficulty content - regular algebra. Would recommend.
