He is a nice guy. Test are easy. adamant about study of freedom vs. security
Great teacher, Great Attitude
sweet guy, likes when you speak up, soothing voice makes you fall asleep, easy
Class was quite interesting + Dr. Wililams is a great guy.
Great prof, very helpful, intersting and classes are easy
great teacher
Very Intresting, and Sexy!! Best Professor Yet!!
Very much into his sociology profession. Very knowledgable about his material.
Willing to work with you;easy tests;offers extra credit;no attendance policy, but it helps if you go.
Good Teacher but puts u to sleep sometimes
This class will open your mind. Good class to take, IMO. Class itself is pretty easy. Doesn't require attendance at all, but I suggest you go to class. Gives out decent review sheets. Should do fine.
Very nice, swet and easy! I never studied for one test and got a C!
Great teaching style! Lectures with an outline, makes it easy to follow and understand. Gives good test reviews and easy to-the-point tests. Answers ANY question you may have, doesn't make anyone feel inferior. Interesting criteria!
He is a great teacher and makes himself laugh. He gives you a review before every exam and the questions on the test are on the reveiw. He does lecture alot but he is a pretty cool teacher and very friendly.
i loved this class! always a review b4 tests and he is extremely helpful. i wish he taught sociology also. I learned alot from this class and enjoyed it too.
I do not like this class! Your grade comes strickly off of tests. There are no class assignments or anything. If you are not a good test taker, do not take him!
He is sort of boring. You will hardly get out of class early, but his lectures are useful. The test are mult. choice and T or F. He is willing to work with you if you ask for help. You are not required to read to pass his test, it is common sense really.
The class is based upon the test so go to class, take notes and do the reviews.
Good teacher, enjoyed the class, gives a review sheet for every test
Great Intro to Sociology!!! Dr. Williams is knowledgeable and helpful. Easy to understand. He gives you a review before the exam and if you pay attention to it there is no reason you should not pass. You can miss a few days but you should attend class.
Very nice teacher and very easy to understand. Gives a review before each test but they don't really help.Tests are kinda tricky. If you know your notes and skim over the chapters he says are going to be on the test you'll do pretty good. Expecting an A.
Fairly good Prof. Got an A. He gives a review sheet. Test are tricky, just use common sense on the tests. Doesn't require very much studying. Lecturing is ok. It gets boring sometimes. Not a bad class.
Learned alot more than I should have.
great class. very helpful
Hes a great teacher and hes pretty funny, when he lectures its pretty interesting, he knows alot of interesting facts. If you come to class you will pass, he always gives a review for tests and is very helpful if you have any questions.
He's a great professor. He's easy if you study. His class is the most interesting class I have ever had. I actually looked foreward to each lecture.
I don't know these other people are talking about the man's class is BORING! Yes, he is nice but that doesn't help your grade when it come down and around to finals. I am sure there is a better teacher out there because his notes are incomplete thoughts and his reviews don't really relate to the boo
Great teacher, he is funny, and cares about his students! Spends time actually answering questions. There are LOTS of notes, but well worth the class. Gives a review sheet before every tests and goes over some questions from it the day before. I would definately recommend this professor!!
He is a great professor. Drops the lowest test grade..which includes the final and also has a study guide for his test.
Yeah sure he gives you reviews, drops a grade, gives a little extra help, and attendance doesnt count, but be prepared to walk out of class everyday feeling depressed! Class is boring, tests are hard, his notes are incomplete, and BEWARE plagerism on the research paper! study groups help!
His class was so interesting. You learn quite a bit of facts that make you HATE the world we live in. Anyhow, he doesn't count attendance which was bad in my case because it reflected such in my grade on one of the tests. Good teacher though, would definitely recommend. Made a B in the class.
really great guy with an honest love of sociology. more than willing to help during office hours. lectures are..LECTURES! but if you're at all interested in the world you live in, you'll love this class. die-hard political views should be checked at the door.
This professor is good. He will help you if you need any help with the notes or the review sheet. The test are not that hard if you do the reading, go to class, and study then it is really easy. He does give extra credit so that's a good thing. He's very friendly and VERY GOOD PROFFESSOR.
Very easy... nuff said. Final was basically showing up
Easy on lower level courses, hard on upper level. Tough, but fair. You will write your ?ss off on his upper level. Essay tests, reaction papers, and a research paper. Very helpful prof, but you will need to work very hard to earn an A.
Well organized lecturer. This upper level course requires lots of writing and research and is for the responsible, dedicated student. Term paper requires oral presentation. Professor is available and cares about the learning experience of the student.
Ok, I dont know what everyone is talking about when they say he is a good professor. Well, easy if you are his teacher pet (which he has many)Encourages conversation but as soon as you do his sidekicks (pets) jump all over you. Oh yeah 10-15 page paper due at end of semester
i love the guy. super interesting class. write a paper due at the end of the semester. you will learn a ton. 2 very small inexpensive books that if you simply skim through will help you on the tests which are straight from the notes and not the least bit complicated. interact w/ the class and do fine. just act interested. made an A.
Take him whenever possible. Excellent. Class participation is key. Testing are 90% from notes. There is not a mandatory class attendance but you have to go to class to pass. Very interesting. I took the summer class and pulled a "B" and thats with only studying my notes only. I didn't even buy the text book.

Found the class to be very boring. It was an early class & he spoke in such a soft voice it would actually make me sleepy. He's an alright teacher if you're interested in the topic. Easy A/B. I got a B and rarely went to class. Take him if you are good at writing b/c there are lots of writing assignments- like one every week or two.
This class wasn't too hard and his reviews are very helpful. He does take questions from the reading material so be sure to read the book. He uses the class before a test to go over any questions about the review. If you study the review you will do fine on the test. At the end of semester if youre happy w/ur grade u dont have to take the final.
Great guy. Makes a lot of connections between the material and his real life which I find interesting. Always willing to give extra help outside of class. Offers extra credit. Straight forward exams with detailed reviews. I hope I get to take him again!
very interesting. explains things and relates them to topics and subjects that a student can understand. somewhat easy tests. attendance is not mandatory but your grades will suffer if you miss lecture and the notes.
This class was actually very easy I rarely went to class and got a B. I liked his class and it was intresting to me but it def. was hard to stay awake. I recomend this class if your good at reading the book by yourself. You must read or go to class to do good on the test. But i recoment him when i did go to class i always got a good laugh!
COOL CLASS YOU WILL HAVE FUN IN ANY OF HIS CLASSES. TEST ARE EASY
Did not like this class. Boring and you have to do alot of assignments on the side. His class is hard if you are not a sociology major. Reviews for test dont help at all. Multiple choice test with 2 essay questions.
tests are pretty easy. he gives out review sheets and goes over any questions the class before. his lectures are very easy to grasp and he uses lots of examples, although sometimes he uses analogies that don't quite fit. no attendance policy, but he gives extra points if you attend and participate in class discussions.
great professor! i enjoyed his class a lot.
Dr. Williams is head of the dep. and for good reason. Knows and understands well what he is teaching. Test come pretty much off the review and he goes over it the class before. Little studying needed. Listen to the lec and take notes and you'll do fine.
Pretty easy class I made an "A" and didnt really even study. Go to class because he gives you extra points and plus his lectures are really interesting!!
he is the chair of the sociology dept. i'm a business major and i took his class. this class was very easy for business majors to understand i recommend any business major take it. don't worry about the book you don't need it. tests come straight from the notes, and the 2 papers you have to write are very easy. very laid back professor & very nice
He got me to get a second major in Sociology! He is a fantasic teacher that really gets you interested in the class. Make sure you read the book, a lot of materials come from it. Have an open mind about things. He is not from Texas and does not appreciate Texas-egos "This is the best state...their culture is weird...ect". Make sure to attend class!
interesting in class, but test normally don't resemble what he is talking about. don't ask for any extra help cause he sure want give it to you!
This man here...ugh! He covers what he talks about in class very vaguely but expects you to read the book as well and the information is between the lines...the lecture and book dont relate at all...he gave me a D but not because of test grades..you can make a good grade but I highly recommend taking somebody else if possible
I took this class as a first semester freshman. He's not very exciting, but is a genuinely nice guy.You just have to listen and be semi interested in the subject. About a quarter into the semester he started offering review sessions where you could ask anything. He also curves the tests often. The book helps but is not the center of the curriculum.
I think he's a really good professor, full of very interesting information
He is AWESOME! i came in dreading this class and i ended up loving it go to his office and talk to him he is very understanding. I passed with an A
In 2012 as a high school freshman, I took this class for dual credit. As my first college class, it seemed intimidating at first, but Dr. Williams made it so easy and so interesting. became one of my favorite classes. The assignments were easy, and the information was super interesting. We watched The Truman Show in class once. Awesome professor.
Dr. Williams gets his points across and his lectures are very organized and his analogies are really helpful, but he's honestly pretty boring. If Sociology is your thing, take him. He knows his stuff front and back. If you're taking it for a credit, he takes a lot of energy to pay attention to for over an hour. Tests are pretty easy.
Dr. Williams is a fantastic professor. I'm in my third year in college and his class has been one of my favorites so far. This course is not easy, but it's not too hard as long as you are not lazy. You'll pass as long as you study the notes and vocabulary. He is always there for you if you need assistance and he provides excellent feedback.
Great guy, but...... Hard class. Boring lectures. Tests were kind of weird and kind of confusing.
HARD HARD HARD. I recommend you choose someone else.
Dr. Williams is a very caring professor. He really loves sociology and it's clear when he lectures. You take notes every class and that's pretty much all you do. Go to his office hours, he will love you and give you really good feedback. His tests are exactly like the review. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you skip make sure you get notes.
there were only three tests including the final. he has a project thats worth 50 points but it isnt too difficult. He offers help on it during his office hours and even allowed for an outside of class meeting for help as well. I never went to the SI, but there is one available. The last two days of class we watched the Truman Show!
Professor Williams is a super boring teacher. His notes aren't very clear and you barely use the book in his class. It is possible to pass test but your pretty much on your own with the review. I do not recommend taking him
Cares about students and is open to help.
Dr. Williams knows his subject and keeps students interested. I learned much more than I expected.
Dr. Williams was an amazing professor and his lectures were actually enjoyable. He makes it clear that hes there to help his students. There are 3 exams and one essay. Take thorough notes and take advantage of any tutoring resources. His class isnt a breeze but its more than achievable to make an A.
I took this as an online class. It was super easy but I learned so much. Really, just participate and do the online assignments and you'll pass the class.
He is a nice guy but his lectures are very unclear. He tried to make them relatable but they were very jumbled. I took notes in class but that didnt seem to help me at all on the tests, his points were very unclear and hard to understand. Id recommend taking someone else.
He's a great professor. Lectures can be a bit unclear sometimes and he can be monotone but it is an easy class.
There are 2 tests, 1 paper, & a final with some extra credit opportunities. He is very nice, and cares about his students. If you don't go to class, you won't pass because he writes out all the lectures on a chalkboard and doesn't post them anywhere.
I loved this professor. He's really passionate about the topic and also checks to make sure the class understands. He also does a review the class period before the test. Writes everything on the board but make sure to right down EVERYTHING he says because he only writes down main point no much detail.
Just go to class, take notes, pay attention and review for the exams. He gives you a review sheet, hes awesome!
Good and straightforward professor. You HAVE to go to class in order to pass because most of his test questions come straight from the lecture. He is funny and interesting and made it clear that if you needed help understanding something you could go to his office hours to discuss it.
I took this class online and it was very easy. You take this course at your own pace, and there are 4 sections total. Each section he gives you a MONTH to do it!!! Take him!! You have one course project that you have all semester to do, 2 discussions and the rest are quizzes and tests.
Dr. Williams is awesome! I really enjoyed his class. You MUST attend class lectures and take good notes, he mentions things once and they will be on the test. There will also be stuff from the book that he wont mention that will be on the test. Go to class, take notes and read and youll be fine.
I don't see how there could be a better professor for this course. He writes the notes himself for us to copy in real time, so it doesn't feel like he is ever going too fast. I thought this would be a boring class, but I was so wrong. This prof. made is very interesting and eye opening. If I could have a minor, this would be an option. TAKE HIM
Dr. Williams is great! He cares about his students and takes the time to answer any questions and he makes himself available. There are only 5 grades for the entire semester, though. Consists of 3 tests and 2 discussions, so be sure to study hard for the tests because they count for a lot.
If you're taking this class online, his exam questions almost rarely come from the PowerPoints or the textbook. The weekly online quizzes ARE over the textbook material. In the syllabus it says exam material comes from lecture videos and assigned readings but don't be fooled, it's MAJORITY from the lecture videos.
I took Sociology 1301 with Professor Williams online during a Fall 1 term. He is very helpful and answers emails quickly. However, I do not recommend taking this class online. The reading was insane, and the workload during the last two weeks of class was ridiculous. His lecture videos are jumbled and very hard to understand and make sense of.
There are 3 tests and 2 homework grades! His lectures are very thorough he does a very good job explaining each topic. Tests come from lectures and textbook. You have to go to class because there is nothing posted online! Make sure to read the syllabus
this was online class, graded by 3 exams, chapter quizzes, and 2 discussion posts. Mr Williams did not communicate more than 5 times throughout the semester. few lecture videos that do not follow any of the powerpoints, but the videos are tested in short response questions on the exams which are on honorlock.
