Shes a really sweet and nice person.. Her class is hard though, so be prepared..The quizzes are much harder than the tests and theres a LOT of information to study on each. She gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit [which you'll definitely need]..her notes are KEY to your success..PAY ATTENTION TO THEM! the text is virtually useless..

She was a great teacher! I loved that she handed out notes for the lectures and that she gave a lot of extra credit opportunities. Her quizzes and tests are tough and you really have to study for them, but if you understand what's on the study guides and notes and if you pay attention in class you should do fine.

Great professor! One of the best! LOTS of extra credit...extremely fair about grading. Hands out lecture notes, and tests are incredibly straightforward. Returns tests in a timely manner and is ALWAYS available if you need help.

Shes a good teacher but she goes through the material kind of quick so you need to go to each class to keep up. Her tests are pretty hard too. Not cuz im stupid but they are just worded weridly and youre not really sure what shes asking for. but all around good so if you have her be prepared to work!

Jessamy is an amazing teacher! You really need to study and pay attention to do well in clas but if you do these things the class isn't that difficult. If your going to skip a class make sure it is not this one, its a challenging course but I highly reccomend taking it with Jessamy she is an amazing professor.

Great teacher. Material was dense, but she always managed to make it relative. She was available to help if you were struggling with a concept. Gave extra credit. Always prepared. Always had a great attitude. I wish I was lucky enough to have had her for lab as well as lecture.

Professor Rango was an excellent instructor. You learn a lot in her class but you have to be prepared to study. She is always willing to help students. Highly recommend her if you are serious about your studies!

Aww shes so awesome! shes adorable!! shes so bubbly and kind to her students. she really knows her stuff and has no problem explaining things. the lab is not that difficult with her, she makes sure you know exactly what will be on quizzes, it is up to you to pay attention the last few minutes during review. if you do you will be golden for the quiz

Although I received a "B" in the course, I worked really hard for it. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Her study guides are invaluable and as a result I retained a lot of the knowledge gained. :) She's awesome, and grants extra credit for S.I.

We never use the textbook but you need to buy a copy of her powerpoint slides (much cheaper than the textbook anyway). And the chapter reviews in the powerpoint packets are used directly for quizzes and tests. So show up, copy her powerpoints into the packet and do the review pages and you should have no problem getting a good grade

She is extremely enthusiastic and fun. She takes materials that is foreign and makes it easy. I have thoroughly enjoyed this class and highly recommend her. She will help you out whenever you need it and gives lots of extra credit. If you want an A you can get it.

Dr. Jessamy is a great professor! She wants her students to succeed! Covers a lot of material but if you put forth the effort, you will do well in her class! Gives extra credit and is willing to help in any way she can! I recommend taking her for Bio!

Jessamy is an energetic and enthusiastic instructor! You can tell she cares about her students and her field. The class isn't easy but if you study and go to class you'll do fine on the weekly tests. She gives you all of the info you need (and even tells you what you need to study for the quiz) so it's really up to you to use it. Great professor!:)

Professor Rango is probably one of the best professors I have had. She really teaches the material well and I am never bored in her class. As long as you attend class regularly and follow her study materials given to you, you should perform well. I look forward to her class and her lab. Yes, her class isn't easy, but learning is fun with her.

Professor Rango is an awesome teacher! She is very perky and always willing to help. Super nice and takes the time to learn everyone's name. But she is an extremely hard grader and very nitpicky on her quizzes. You have to study really hard to get at least a B in her class.

Prof. Rango is the best biology professor I have ever had. She's extremely helpful and really nice. A lot of people think her class isn't easy but everything on her exams comes directly from the notes. I got over a 100% in her class. I hated bio till I took it with her!!

Prof. Rango is one of the best professor I've had. Her tests follow the study guides that she gives to you at the beginning of the chapter notes and she uses relatable real world examples to demonstrate biology concepts. She is a lot of fun and a great teacher. Just be sure to go to every class because she doesn't post the complete notes online.

I loved her class! she's the bestteacher i've had and this is my first time i had biology. She is so nice and really wants to help if if you put in the effort. i went from an F to a current C, but the only thing i would change is her tetst. Too many chapters and too much to rememeber, but i recoomend her!

I had her for lecture and lab and she is by far one of the best science teachers at AACC. Not only is she passionate about her students learning the subject and doing well, she is truly passionate about the material she teaches. Her notes are key to your success. If you want to understand and get an A in Bio, take her class!

This is an easy A class if you attend every lecture and go to SI. She gives you everything you need in her powerpoints, demonstrations and examples. Tons of extra credit that can boost up exam grades. Really passionate and clear. Wasn't interested in sciences but she made me enjoy Bio. Anything you need to know will be said in class!

Professor Rango is very passionate about this subject and it shows in her lessons. Definitely a loud, upbeat teacher. You won't fall asleep in this class, even if you have it at 8am like I did! If you go to the lectures you will do great. She gives tons of extra credit. Know everything on the study guides and you'll ace the tests/quizzes.

Prof. Rango's class is very good. I had no interest in Bio before taking the class, but she makes it bearable for those who don't like it. Don't bother reading the textbook, because all of her tests are based off of the notes given in class. If you memorize the notes, you'll get an A.

Dr. Rango is enthusiastic about env. science and about her students' success. She offers you everything necessary to succeed and get an A. Uses Powerpoint notes that you "fill in" during class. Textbook was not necessary; any references to it were for supplemental comprehension. You really can't go wrong unless you refuse to study or do the work.

Dr. Rango is very clear with everything. Her quizzes and text are not very easy. But you will get an A if you study the study guide for the quizzes and study the powerpoint package she passes out for the exam. The extra credit questions she gives is usually will be in the exam. And pay attention to what she writes on the board. Take her!

Professor Rango is a great teacher. She cares so much about her students success in the classroom that she will take time out of her day to help you with anything you do not understand. My first semester with her I had to drop out because I was failing. When I took her class again I passed. Study Study! and ASK for help! She's one of the best prof!

This was BY FAR the most fun i've had in a college course ever. Most favorite course too. It's a lot of work, make sure you take notes and study the Powerpoints for the quizzes and test. An easy B, harder A. She is so caring, and easy going, you go on multiple, very interesting fields trips. Lots of group collaboration. You really do learn a lot.

The best by far! You do need to attend class. Her lectures are clear. You may need to attend si for additional studying but her syudy uides and test/quizzes are very straight forward. Her lab class is a little more difficult.

Dr. Rango is one of the more passionate professors I have encountered. She supplies note packets for every lecture, all you have to do is fill in the blanks. She has a nearly endless stream of resources for you to use if you are struggling and her office hours are amazingly helpful. She cares and she wants you to succeed, but you gotta do the work!

Overall a great class but not the easiest because of the amount of information needed to do well in the class. There is also a semester project but it is not difficult.

She mostly grades on tests and quizzes which can sometimes be pretty hard and you definitely will need to study for them. The lectures are pretty interesting but you need to pay attention to get all the needed information. Taking notes is easy because she gives fill in the blank notes. She also gives tons of 1 or 2 point extra credit worksheets.

Dr. Rango is amazing! She will help you out in anyway throughout the entire semester. I met with her for office hours, as well as after class. Her lectures are fun and you can see she is passionate about the subject as she teaches (no way you'll fall asleep). She is even supportive in your personal life (helping you get the attention you may need).

I had professor Rango for BIO 101 and lab. She was absolutely amazing! Class was VERY HARD don't get me wrong, but she is really there for her students. I met with her every week and went over questions I had in lecture and lab and it really helped. I also went to the SI session which really helped plus she gives extra credit points if you attend!

Great teacher had her for both LB and Lecture. Every morning she is so excited to teach Biology. She definitely knows her stuff and wont just give you a free grade. She does provide extra credit, not worth much but it definitely does help.

Enjoyable class. Lecture notes given as printed slides & contain the whole lecture with fill-in-blank style. Makes studying easy. Anything from slides could be on the quizzes & it could be a number or something you wouldn't think is as important so quizzes are hard. Don't need textbook. Just saved you money. You're welcome!!! Dr. Rango is awesome! This is definately not an easy class, but it helps if you take advantage of all her note packets and study material, her office hours, and the SI sessions (Travis is a big help). Lectures are great, she's so passionate about bio. Gives extra credit in class and for SI attendance. Try to get her for lab too, she makes it fun!

This class isn't easy, and you will not pass without studying hard. The reviews saying shes horrible are from those that underestimated the class. Professor Rango is one of the best at AACC and loves what she is doing and shows that. While the material moves fast, she provides very detailed notes and offers help if you need it. Take her if you can!

Dr. rango is a solid and very nice teacher. But oh boy bio 101 has been the hardest class I've taken. I've heard that bio at aacc is tough no matter the professor. Lab is super long so be mentally prepared. Study for quizzes and tests it'll really help. I imagine if you never show up you'd get a 10 percent. Best of luck to all you brave souls.

Prof. Rango is a fun and involved prof. Exams are pretty tough, but she helps you prepare and gives you LOTS of extra credit. If you go to class and do the assignments (not hard!) you'll do fine. Professor Rango was the best. Organized, energetic, knowledgeable, available. My favorite class at AACC even though it was hard. She really wants students to succeed and gives every opportunity to do so (note guides, study guides, visuals, extra credit). But know that this class is hard and you're going to have to work. Also, go to SI!

Rango was my favorite teacher! She gave amazing note guides for her lecture &would constantly prepare you for tests by giving in mini quizzes at the beginning of class (non-graded). She gave cards (A,B,C,D) to hold up as your response to the questions on the screen, the whole class loved it! She is very helpful & caring & gives lots of extra credit

Amazing teacher, great at explaining complex biological concepts. A true passion for science and very enthusiastic about teaching it. Don't miss class! or if you do, make friends to get the notes from, lecture is the best way to learn and she makes it fun. if you skip class and just read the book, you will not go far, and that's not her fault.

By far my fav course I have taken at AACC has been her environmental science course, and I barely even like lab sciences. Her lesson plan is impeccable, her lectures are perfection, learning objectives are clear, she's super nice and she does effective things to encourage everyone to mingle with one another. I would take her again in a heart beat.

Dr Rango was a fabulous instructor! She gives a short lecture at the beginning of each lab that really helps you understand what you need to know. You do need to study for the weekly quizzes since that is the only grade in the class.

If you show up for class (I recommend showing up early for extra credit opportunities) and study every day, you will not have any problems with this course.

This class was very difficult. Take full advantage of supplemental instruction, not only for extra credit, but because it helps A LOT. Dr. Rango is a very caring instructor and I recommend seeing her in office hours if you need anything, but the material can sometimes be confusing. Get ready to study.

Its a hard class and she makes you work for your grade but its the most interesting class I took of my entire bachelors program and it was just a gen ed class for me. Shes a really fair professor and will work with you for special circumstances if you tell her ahead of time. Take advantage of all the extra credit you can and she gives a lot.

If you're a bio major, I'd HIGHLY recommend her. If you're not a major, go with an easier professor. She gives so many papers, you have to make studying for this class a priorty over all your others. Never in my life have I had such an amazing professor. From her fill in the blank notes from lecture, to her ingenious Bio demonstrations, you'll never regret taking her class. She is one of the easiest Bio profs in the department and offers tons of one-on-one tutoring as well as extra cred. She genuinely cares about your grade and you as a person.

Dr. Rango is a great teacher, I highly recommend! I took Dr. Rango for Biology lab with classes every week. The class overall was also pretty good; 13 labs for a 15 week course. Dr. Rango grades very fairly, so dont expect to get perfect scores on assignments. She goes over everything very clearly in class, but if you miss three classes, you fail!

Great professor, but really hard class. She wants students to spend 18 hours a week on this course (I spent about 10-14 hours a week). We had assignments do every day except weekends. Amazing lectures: she explains the tough concepts in simple ways.

I took BIO101LB in Spring 2021. Dr. Rango's lectures are extremely helpful. She guides you through how to find all assignments, and through each week's lab activities. She clears up ambiguity on assignments, is flexible and involves all students during her online class time to be sure students are engaged. Readily available; her grading is fair.

I had Dr. Rango for BIO 101 lab and she was awesome. She explains assignments and material so clearly, and she really is excited about what she's teaching. Highly recommend!
