Professor McKee tends to go off subject, but not that bad. At times, his lectures are a bit confusing and sometimes his PowerPoints seem to not be too organized. Test questions were at times unclear and did not match his lectures. Though, Prof. McKee gave plenty of opportunities to increase grades by attendance or pop quizzes on articles/videos.

Dr. Mckee is a great professor. His sense of humor is hit or miss but that shouldn't stop you from taking him. He is very reasonable and will help you with whatever you need if you go to officer hours. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you skip you'll miss easy pop quizzes and extra credit. Lectures can be boring due to material but not his fault.

Dr. McKee does the best he can with a horrible class. Research Methods is tedious and his dry humor helps make this class tolerable. There were 3 tests (all covered in his lectures) and 1 book to read with a short 3 page paper. He doesn't give a study guide but he tells you what materials the test will cover. Semi-effort for an A

Dr. McKee is one of the best professors I had in my CJUS major, I really hope I take more classes with him as my professor. He makes lectures interesting and he definitely doesnt try to be all monotone with the lectures. He talks about them in depth, as well as open up the classroom for questions and discussions. He does give extra credit so read!

I loved professor McKee. His lectures were entertaining and engaging. His sense of humor makes the class fly by if you pick up on sarcasm. He went out of his way to make sure students feel prepared for exams. Class is easy and so are exams so long as you attend and read the assigned text.

Online during COVID class. 5-week modules, 2textbooks, Each week there is lectures vids, articles, other videos, and chapters to read. The other book you'll ready you will write a paper. 3 tests and one final. About 18-22 questions, some multiple-choice, and some short answer. Also four writing assignmnets write is short answers about 1-2 paragraph

Loved his class! Great professor that made the material interesting. Tests were easy as long as you took notes, read, and studied.

Gives great lectures and adds a good deal of humor. Makes the material very clear and easy to understand. Difficult tests, but is easy to reach to answer questions and discuss or elaborate on material. Would take any class he is teaching in the future. Need more professors like him in the school system.

Professor McKee's class was super easy, just make sure you read the chapter, take thorough notes, and watch all the lecture videos and other videos included and you will be fine. He is a very understanding professor and even curved the hardest tests. 4 exams, 2 papers and 2 extra credit opportunities. Already signed up to take him again. Good luck!

Great professor! Very easy to communicate with. I accidentally missed an exam when I took this class with him, and even though his syllabus states that there are no makeup exams, he allowed me to take the missed exam after I emailed him. Exams are almost completely from the textbook; they're easy as long as you have the book.

Usually asynchronous classes are boring and you hardly even notice the professor. Not with Dr. McKee. He puts humor and personality in what is frankly a very dry and boring subject. He even puts personality into the tests, caught me off guard with a laugh each time. Only a few assignments for the semester, but they're easy. Definitely take.

McKee is a GREAT professor! He is the funniest and most entertaining professor I've ever had. His tests are extremely difficult though, it is all based off of the textbook. But, he has other graded assignments that have kept my grade at an A, even after FAILING a test! Read the textbook and really study it and you'll be good. He's great.

Genuinely one of the best professors I've had. Attendance isn't mandatory but he doesn't post any material online. He gives out a ton of extra credit and is super helpful if you email him with questions. I honestly didn't read the textbook and did well, but he does put some terms/ideas from the textbook on tests. I'm finishing the class with a 102%

Probably my favorite professor! He is super funny and I look forward to going to his lectures. The class is graded on few things, there's no busy work, so make sure you study for the exams but for the most part they're easy. He offers a good amount of extra credit so if you do badly on an exam its not the end of the world. Wish I could take again!

Great class. Attendance is taken and a lot of questions on tests are from class only. Just show up and take notes, there is a ton of extra credit to back you up.

professor McKee is just amazing. he takes attendance quite often for actual credit and extra credit so I would go to every class. most of the questions on the tests come directly from the slides in class and are related a bit to the textbook so take notes and you'll do great. I only have a B because of attendance, so it's pretty important

Professor McKee us by far the best professor I've had so far. He made class so interested and when it came to tests, he told us what we needed to study.

McKee does a great job of teaching material and also being entertaining. This class ends up being one that you actually want to go to. Tests carry most of your grade but they are only 25 questions each. There was only one essay assignment. As long as you go to class, the assignments are easy and sometimes you can get extra credit for showing up.

Professor McKee was one of the best professors I have had at UNCC. He genuinely cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. His lectures were always entertaining and he is just an all around great professor. Most of your grade is based on tests and a few assignments but go to class and you will do just fine.

I love this man. He was easily the best criminal justice professor I have had thus far. Anyone that gets a bad grade in his class simply didn't try; his tests are so straight forward, his project assignments are very engaging, and he tells you exactly what you need to study and how best to study it. Just show up to class and try your best.

He's super chill and cracks jokes, but you have to go to class in order to pass the exam and get extra credit. for an elective class, i think hes still fine and material is comprehensible, but im a cjus major so i loved it. practically no assignments. study and put in the effort, especially for exams and you will pass with a B or better.

Professor Mckee was an amazing professor for the first criminal justice class I took at UNCC. He was hilarious, gave extra credit, and specified what would be on the tests. The readings aren't bad and as long as you take lecture notes and do the readings, you'll be fine on the tests. Just don't start slacking off and you'll do great in it.

Phenomenal teacher, very funny as well. Very helpful if you go to his office hours. Only homework is reading the textbook which is very helpful.

Honestly the best professor I have had. Makes his lectures funny and interesting and the content is relatively easy. There are a few exams, a paper, and discussions but if you attend class and take notes you will be more than prepared for them. Attendance is not mandatory but it really does help on all of your assignments

He was always engaging with students during class, lectures are interesting and easy to understand even if you arent a CJUS major. He's always cracking jokes and telling storys that relate to the course content. His tests are relativly easy if you pay attention in class and take key points from the textbook.

I am not a CJUS major and loved his class. His lectures are the only ones that don't leave me zoning out. They are interactive and he makes jokes related to the course content. Exams are easy as long as you take notes and study. He tells you exactly what to study for each exam. One 2-3 page paper and in class discussions are the only other grades.

McKee Is a very fun professor. His lectures are interesting, he gives extra credit for attendance, and he likes to joke about Ethan, a student in my section, committing heinous crimes (Ethan was okay with this).

Professor McKee is a good professor who does a great job making a tough subject (domestic violence) much easier to learn about. He is very respectful of the seriousness of the topic while trying to keep the class light-hearted. He is willing to answer any question the best he can no matter the difficulty. He is also approachable. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed taking this class because it was very interesting. I was not expecting the amount you had to read from the textbooks. The chapters were extremely long and we typically had to read anywhere from 3-4 chapters to 1.prepare for the test and 2.understand the material being taught better. Only gives exams, and discussion grades so study.

Loved professor McKee, this class was very interesting and helpful. In order to succeed it's important you attend lectures, he doesn't post slides online. He was very funny and make a seemingly boring subject interesting to listen to. Studying is important and lots of notes, but if you actually try, then you'll pass easily.

McKee is very enjoyable, he's funny and laid-back. Grades are just 4 tests, a 3-page paper, and very easy "discussions," with a nice smattering of free extra credit for attendance. Tests are always 25 multiple choice questions. Attendance isnt technically necessary, but tests are almost entirely on the lectures and the slides arent posted anywhere.

Really awesome guy with plenty of extra credit opportunities. The tests are straightforward and his lectures are very interesting. He has a John Mulaney-type of humor that carries well in his class. Highly recommend taking his classes.

Professor McKee is my favorite professor I've ever had. Every day is just lectures but he's super funny and engaging. You're graded on 4 tests, 5 discussions, and one paper(2 pages, no research). If you show up, pay attention, and take mediocre notes, you are VERY likely to do well. If you read the textbook you will get an A or B for sure.

One of my favorite professors. Plenty of extra credit (as long as you go to class). Not many assignments but tests are very easy. Take good notes, read the textbook, and go to class. That's all you need to do to get a good grade. Very funny & laid-back professor. I plan to take another class of his in the fall. Definitely recommend taking his class

Also took McKee for CJUS 1511. Such an awesome professor!! He is super funny, makes lectures super interesting, and will sometimes give extra credit on random days if you just show up to class. The classes are mostly lectures, and he does not post them so if you miss class its on you. Tests include random textbook questions so be prepped!

Professor Mckee is great! This is my second time taking his class and I'll definitely be taking classes with him in the future. His class is very lecture based and you will definitely need to read the textbook for the exams. However, he does do random extra credit opportunities, so come to class! He's also funny and appreciates participation

Lectures were great, there is extra credit but it does not boost your grade much. Very test heavy, the textbook readings were so long which made it difficult to prepare. Knowing everything in the class and your notes won't make you do good on the test. Tests would have random dumb questions which I found unfair. He's a good prof but very test heavy

Class is not mandatory but it's important to come for the notes, the tests include things he said in the lectures. Funny and very engaging. Will say doesn't have assignments outside of the discussions, tests, and reaction paper so do well on tests. Will have extra credit pop quizzes on random days, you still get points if you don't know the answer.

5 mini group assignments and 4 tests, you have to do good on the tests. Provides extra credit opportunities. Refers to the textbook a lot. Textbook questions, documentary questions, and anything mentioned in class will be on test. Got more strict at the end. Loves to debate anything when a student speaks.

Such a great professor! All you're graded on is 3 tests, 1 paper, and 5 easy discussions, You have to come to class, his powerpoints are not uploaded and a lot is on the tests. Read your chapters and make sure to finish any documentaries we start in class. Many small extra credit opportunities! He made class worth coming to, very funny person!

This has been my favorite professor I've had at UNCC despite it being the only B I've made so far. No homework besides a 2 page paper near the end. Lectures are interesting and he's really funny. Prof McKee is super funny, one of the few college classes where I enjoyed the lectures. He does give pop "discussions" from time to time, so make sure to go to class. All the class material is in the lectures, the textbook is used sparingly, so attendance is not mandatory, but if you skip you won't pass.

He is great , he interacts with the class and always plays devils advocate and his lectures are funny. Exam heavy becasue he doesnt give any homework so if you dont do great on the exam that might not be good but aslo the exam is bascially the notes he gives in class.

He is such a good and funny guy, made class interesting and very engaging. But, if you don't do well on the test, good luck getting above a C. For a general education course, I thought it was kind of annoying that the test really affected our grades. We get a study guide, but it's hard to prepare how the question will be asked. Goodluck!

Dr. McKee is an amazing professor! If you do the reading and take notes, you will do very well on your exams. His exams are extremely straightforward and all questions are multiple choice. His standards are very clear. I am not a great test taker but even I managed to do really well on all of the exams he gave us. Plus, his lectures are very funny.

Dr. Mckee is hilarious and engaging which makes the class really interesting despite it being mostly lectures and some videos. You will have to read the textbook for all 4 tests but it is also interesting and not hard to do. Tests are very straightforward and from the textbook/in-class lectures. The class is not hard if you learn the vocab/theories

10/10 would recommend, this is my 2nd time having Professor Mckee and he is easily one of my favorites. This class includes 3 test and 4 writing assignments which are super easy. Test is on lockdown browser with webcam but be careful because if you bomb one test it will bring you down a whole letter grade so be mindful of that.

Funny lectures with good dry humor. Sometimes there are “pop quizzes” solely to provide extra credit. Honestly a fantastic teacher, I wish I could take more of his classes, if only I wasn't an engineer.

Mr. Mckee is an all around great guy. I really enjoyed his class. The tests were difficult for me, and with no study guide I struggled a lot even though I regularly attended class. I would've enjoyed it more had there been more graded assignments, and study guides for exams.

He was a great and engaging professor. The discussion are easy points and are actually enjoyable, he gives extra credit opportunities for doing the reading but it doesn't affect your grade if you don't get it, and basically all you have to do is do the reading and show up to class. Attendance isn't required but if you don't go, you won't get notes.

Really funny, pop quizzes and about 3 test during the whole semester, WHAT YOU LEARN IN CLASS WILL BE ON THE TEST, great and simple notes on power points, would take his class again.

Professor McKee is like no other. He makes the lectures engaging and has great comedic timing. Attendance is not for a grade, but in order to succeed in the class you need to take notes each lecture because they are not posted on Canvas. There are 4 total Exams and 6 Group Discussions that make up the majority of your grade. 10/10 would recommend.

The professor is super chill. Everything he talked about in the lecture was interesting. Had exams every quarter but he made a study guide. If you pay attention in class and take you will be fine. One final paper at the end and a few videos we watched throughout the semester. It was my first CJUS class, and I would recommend it to others!

Class consists of weekly 2-question quizzes and 1 major paper, along with exams throughout. The exams are an EXACT COPY of the lectures and the textbook. Whatever you do, make sure to read the textbook as it sneaks up on you on the exams. Professor McKee is hilarious and very engaging, so the lectures are entertaining at the very least.

Very straightforward professor. Hard class, and you need to find your way of studying the material, or you will struggle. He is available to help, but you have to reach out. Lectures are long, so finding what is important is essential. Not an easy class at all, but it could be worse. I would recommend him to anyone who needs this class

Professor Mckee is a very cool teacher. Has a lot of stories about his life that relate back to Criminal Justice and is so laid back that he doesn't really care much if you study or not. Very simple rules in his classroom no disruption, don't ask for extra credit, and if you know that you can't show up don't. Very simple rules and cool to talk to.

Dr.Mckee is a good professor. His lectures are kind of boring but he does his best to make them funny and interesting. You do have pop quizzes - there not terrible if you pay attention and read the book, and they count as extra credit and attendance. He does talk alot but also likes to make discussions engaging.

I truly enjoyed his class so much. He's very funny and it's easy to get a good grade in this class as long as you keep up with the lectures and textbook. While attendance wasn't mandatory there would be discussions that you had to be present for but he would let us know when those would be beforehand. I loved being his student!

A discussion every 3 weeks in person, three total tests, and a couple other grades. He gives a lot of extra credit. He also makes lectures very entertaining to the point that I don't even understand why people skip! This a need to take a professor especially for a gen ed.
