Hated this class. I think she is more worried about the way she looks than anything else. Her class was very boring and if you find a mistake in her grading she will get mad and make it mor difficult on you. She is not a fair teacher at all

Nightmare of a teacher. Refuses to help. Even though a storm wiped out power for much of the city would not be more understanding of late work. Has no business teaching an online class. Doesn't care that some people have to work and go to class.

This was a FICTION class!!! Why were we always doing a history project?! Gave me an F on assignments with subjects I have been writing on for years. Online class and made us do group projects?!

Mrs. Cobbs is the worst teacher I have ever had. First off, she grades ridicously hard as if she is teaching post graduate English students. She is inconsiderate of other's ways of thinking and offers no direction in what she is looking for in an assignment. If you find an error, don't bother her with it! DO NOT RECOMMEND HER AT ALL!!!!!!!

Didn't like this class at all. I had straight A's, and ended up with a D in this course.Seems to be a very rude teacher, too hard of a grader. Nothing is excused, whether I was registered late because I just moved here. Nope. Why do you grade our stuff but not even show us what we got wrong? How do you expect us to learn? DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER.

Very rude teacher. I personally feel like teachers should somewhat understand/care for their students' situations...especially people who have children, working 40 hours a week, and is caring for a sick parent. Not impressed.

Worst Teacher ever

Worst teacher I ever had in my life. I swear she grades hard on purpose. DO NOT take her like someone else said she is unfriendly does not accept late work and really does not care about her students!!!!

Awful person. do not take her even if she is the only teacher available! She does answer all your questions but she is rude. She does not understand that people have lives outside her class such as other classes or work!

Worst teacher ever ! I will not recommend anybody to take her class. When I did my research paper she graded it and corrected errors I went back and recorrected what she wanted me to change and some of the things she told me to change she marked it wrong again .

I WOULD STAY CLEAR OF THIS TEACHER!! I was due to graduate Spring 2014, but because of her, I won't graduate till the Summer because I had to drop her class. If you take her class, make sure this is the only class your taken. TOO MUCH WORK and NOT ENOUGH TIME.

This teacher is beyond hard. She takes points off for every little minor thing, she will not allow you to review what she took points off for. Seriously if you choose to take her good luck and pray hard!

She was not very helpful. Her the quiz after each reading assignment were not made for you to pass. She ask you the irony of a story and if was not what she felt was right you were wrong. Her grading system is really sucks and you are lucky if you get out of her class with a "C".

Online course with little direct teaching. Yes you had assignments and a study guide - no lecture material or discussion of readings directly from the instructor. No feedback on items missed on quizzes or tests. No real helpful feedback on research paper till you got your grade. Poor quality learning experience. bonus won't help - subjective

The online class is awful. She is not clear on any instructions. She is not helpful and seems irritated if you have a question. Wouldn't take her again!

Not understanding to real life problems. Car gets towed in the night and you have no way to bring her your paper except via email, go drop. 5 seconds late on paper turn in day, go drop. If you have kids or a job that interfere with your attendance on due dates, go drop. Won't accept dr notes, said don't make appointments on her class time.

I love English, but her class was by far the hardest English class ever. She's a very tough grader, any mistake you make beware of a huge point deduction. She never emailed back about questions I had regarding how she wanted me to do the work. Also, after every test (online course) you cannot review anything you got wrong therefore you can't learn.

She is a tough grader. Any teacher who annotates using the word "huh?" instead of actual feedback on how to improve the paper is unprofessional. She has plenty of negative criticism to offer without actual suggestion on how to improve or develop your writing. Choose anyone but her.

Terrible professor.

This professor hates the world. Im normally an A student but have a C in this class. Beware of writing positive essays - has a morbid/dark personality. Grades are based off of what is on the internet even if work is original. She will check sources and tell you its not original. I would have an A in this class if I had another professor.

Beware that this teacher does not care and is not concerned with your feelings. Whatever grade she gives you is final, whether you agree or disagree. If you make a mistake, she does not care and will let you know just that. If you miss a assignment, she will give you a zero on the assignment plus a zero on two other assignments that are connected.

Took online. This class I actually TRIED HARD. I accidentally missed 1 deadline which resulted in getting 3 0s (equivalent to 3 absences online). This happened 1-2 weeks before the semester ended & I had put in so many hours to do well in this class. She dropped me from the class and wouldnt allow me a chance to get back in. Take ANYONE else!

She grades too hard and will only give you 5 minutes to take a quiz. Yes there are study guides, but its a lot of material to memorize, so its hatd to know what to study for. Really dont recommend her unless you have to take her.

She is a little scattered brained. Only B I received all of my degree.

Does not care that life happens nor does she understand when you take 100 percent online course and live across the country because you husband is military. Also you read about 350 pages a week and test and she does not have clear wording in her tests. The class average on tests was 61.5 out of 103 for our grades. The entire class was failing.

Horrible. Never again will I sign up for anything she teaches. Not clear on tests and not reasonable.

The only professor who was available for online coursework at the time I signed up for the course. Doesn't give clear guidance on assignments or care that life can get in the way of schoolwork. In face-to-face classes, she isn't that bad. As for her online coursework, good luck and I hope life doesn't make you miss stuff. Otherwise, you will fail.

This teacher wants your paper to be absolutely perfect. She grades her way and the rubric never matches it. She grades on a higher level than English 102. I do not recommend this teacher at all. Do not take her.

I will never take her again or tell anyone to take her. Shes awful! Her modules are all over the place. If you have an assignment for say week 4, you wont find out how to do it in that module, youll have to look back at prior weeks. Even if you do follow all her guidelines to a T she will make up excuses to fail you on that assignment. Worthless

She is literally the worst teacher I have ever had. She doesn't care about you are that life happens. She is a tough grader on everything. I would never in a million years take her again because she is horrible. She wants everything to be perfect. I would never suggest taking her.

Ms. Cobbs is the HARDEST grader I have EVER had. She marks off for EVERYTHING. If you take her, I hope u have another English professor looking over your assignments yet that wont matter because youll STILL receive a F. Worst teacher ever.

Never in the history of precious life itself would I suggest ANYONE taking this instructor. AWFUL isn't enough to describe her and this class. NOTHING you write is ever good enough & always has a negative comment. Entirely too much reading and not enough time on quizzes. Plus who gives an English Final??The research paper should be the final grade.

Ms. COBBS apparently doesn't know she teaches a 100 level English. She expects perfection. She is AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL! I hated her class and would never suggest taking her for anything. If you need English for your major, she is not who you want. You will hate your life because the assignments are ridiculous. Nothing you write will be good enough.

Shes tough. In my opinion, she grades entirely too hard for English 101. There little to no time to take quizzes and she makes you read about things that have no relevance to the tests. 1/10 would not recommend for freshmen or someone whos been out of school for years.

If I could give her a Zero rating, I so would. She is too tough, and she's awful. She does not like to explain anything, and if she does it makes no sense what so ever. I do not believe she could even pass. She does not care to help you, nor does she specify what you did wrong. She will only tell you that you need to fix your paper

Throughout the class, I have had many people who have already taken English 101 read my essays and give me feedback. I would always listen to their feedback and fix my essay but it was never enough. She will critique every little thing and take many points off for it. If you want to get over a 90 there's no chance.

Never again. She gives you NO TIME to take quizzes where she wants you to elaborate quotes and be specific. Actually, you can never be specific enough for her. Also does not offer much help with the huge research paper thats due at the end when she just pawns it off on the students to grade each other. Awful teacher.

There's a reason why she is one of the worst rated teachers. She gives you barely any time to do tests/quizzes. Her rubrics/modules are vague and are all over the place. She barely grades papers, and when she does, she gives you a grade sheet to decode her criticisms. Incredibly lazy and unprofessional. Everything a teacher should not be.

Instead of telling us what we need to do to fix papers she has us give feedback to each other. This doesnt make any sense to me because shes the hardest grader Ive ever had. STAY AWAY!

Literally terrible, I would not wish her on my worst enemy. If I just happen to HAVE to take her again, I would just drop out.

Every little thing is a problem. You can make your paper as perfect as it needs to be, she will still find something to critique. Had to constantly remind her to put a grade in for an assignment she gave me a zero in when it had already been done. DO NOT take her. If I knew about this site, I never would have. Probably won't get better than a C+.

Absolutely awful! Zero feedback and very unorganized. Make sure you read all modules before assignments because she likes to put different instructions for one assignment in multiple locationsOh and online classes mean nothing. You will be required to print and mail or bring in your paperwork, as well as submit it through canvas. 0/10.

Negative 5 stars, If you want to have a will to live DO NOT TAKE HER. The class is genuinely impossible. She takes forever to grade papers and grades way to hard. She makes students revise each others papers and rarely responds with helpful answers. I would rather jump off a plane with no parachute than take her again, and I'm scared of heights.

You can not review material missed on the test. You have peer reviews with little guidance and have to decode your mistakes on your own with her own personal feedback method. She can be condescending and rude at times. It is a learning experience and she does not offer much help. When an error is found on her part she will not give credit for it.

The harshest grader, I felt many of my grades were unfair especially for the amount of work I put in. Her emails are often condescending. Do not take her online. You will receive Cs for essays other teachers would give As on. I do not feel she cared about my success and did not offer opportunities to review essays.

Beyond awful professor!!! When it comes to emailing her she is very rude and snappy. She grades entirely too hard. If you have her I suggest you drop her because she makes this course very hard!!!

I pride myself on being a good writer, but with her you cant win. She's the harshest grader, way too hard for an intro class. If you are taking it online, theres no office hours to discuss the massive research paper, even though she will tear it to pieces. theres no guidance. i wouldn't recommend, unless engl is your major and you're exceptional.

Extremely hard.

The tests she gave were difficult to complete due to the amount of time provided. I'm not a fast typer, so typing out a complete sentence with correct punctuation and spelling in less than a minute (long sentences too) is virtually impossible. You'll be writing a lot of papers too. I felt like she just didn't care. Absolutely awful experience.

The professor's lack of communication and feedback made the online class feel pointless. Assignments were graded with vague comments, making it hard to stay engaged. Expressing concerns didn't help. Overall, it was disappointing.

Her class was terrible! There were no exact answers to half the questions on her tests; it was just a matter of guessing her opinion on the pieces of literature we were reading. And she's a VERY tough grader! Also, when I asked her questions, she was very condescending and would never give a clear answer. I would not recommend her at all!
