I don't know what that other student was talking about! Ms. Shreiber is an excellent teacher. She covers as much material as is possible during such a difficult course. She understands that the students taking anatomy are going into the medical field and that she must uphold high levels of expectation. Anatomy is not supposed to be easy. GROW UP!

Excellent!! She knows EVERYTHING and makes anatomy easy by relating it to real life. Really helpfull and never hesitates to help. Always has open office and extra lab hours for extra help. She may be strict but that's because she's professional! That's what all good teachers are like when you get to a university!

Mrs Gibbs is a teacher who has high expectations for herself as well as her students. She is a hard shell to crack or get to know. She explains the subject well so be prepared to have no life while in her class, be prepared to study hard and she does not like brown nosers. I have had this professor for both Bio 101 and Anatomy. I will have her next for Physio. She is VERY fair, and tries to be helpful with study tips. She has an open door policy and comes to class well prepared for her lectures and lab. She is tough, but quite fair and expects you to study to earn your grade.

Mrs. Gibbs class is very difficult, but it is a 200 level class, but she is very clear about the subject and is willing to help if you dont understand. They actually say Harvey is harder than Gibbs

class has a very organized structure, she's really dry, no personality, but if you're looking for a challenging class take her, i learned a lot from her lecture notes and ch. questions.

This is a very difficult class and her lectures are LONG and DRY. She reads her lectures right off the power point like a list. (All anatomy teachers at VVC use the exact same material.) She is always willing to help but only if you ask for it and even then she dances in circles around the question. Work your butt off and you MIGHT get a B.

Mrs Gibbs gets a bad rap but she's very helpful and very approachable. You just have to ask. The class is hard and you do have to dedicate a lot of time to studying.

I thought Mrs. Gibbs was very helpful and VERY knowledgable. Anatomy not unlike the other sciences are not to be taken lightly, of course it's not going to be a walk in the park! Great teacher! Best instructor at VVC. She is the reason Im going to major in Biology. You must study hard but she makes it very easy to understand. Plus she gives an extra credit assignment at the end of the semester.

After having 2 semesters with Mrs. Gibbs, I can say she's a great teacher, who makes things AS CLEAR AS CAN BE!But I still had to study my A$$ off. She draws really good pictures during lecture that really help you understand the material. And, she posts it on her website. She's open to answer emails anytime. What more would you want/need?!

Mrs. Gibbs is the best professor I have ever had. Anatomy is difficult no matter who you take it with, but she really gives you all the tools and help you need to get an A and really understand all the material. If you have questions ASK!! She is very helpful and easy to approach. Be nice and respectful to her and she will be in return.

Although Anatomy is an extremely hard class, she is a very good teacher and explains things to your level of understanding! The class is har, not her. She is one of the best professor's I have come across.

I took this professor over a short session, winter, I thought she was awesome! She has prepared alot of helpful study guides for the students, her drawings that she posts for you online helped tremendously, and she would answer any question you had to ask, just had to wait till after lecture. She makes you learn, I highly recommend her!

I took Anatomy over the summer, she's right about one thing, if you work and have kids and take her human anatomy class during a short term you will suffer! I managed to pull a B but you literally have to study for 8 plus hours every day. She is a great teacher! Very funny and easy to talk to for help!

Her class is pretty difficult but if you put forth the effort to study and make use of your lab time, you will have no problems. She knows this material and very easy to talk with. She will answer any questions you have in a very clearn manner, just make sure you don't try to ask during lecture!

Spectacular teacher. I took her for both anatomy and Physio and I'm glad I did. She is kind, understanding, and is always there for her students. Answer all the questions at the end of each chapter that she provides and you can ace her tests.

By far the hardest class I have ever taken, but that has nothing to do with the teacher! She is very easy to understand and the way she lectures makes it easy to remember the material! She is incredibly smart, and is so far my favorite teacher. She tells you what you need to study for tests, and gives you the tools you need. The work, however, is up to you. I got an A in the class. It wasn't a very difficult class, it just covered a lot of good information. This is a good class, I'm so glad I took Professor Gibbs!

I think if anyone comments that she is a tough teacher, or that anatomy with her is a terribly hard class, it just shows that the commenter is not the greatest student. Anatomy with Mrs. Gibbs is a great class, and she is a great teacher. It just takes work to get a good grade! Which it should.

She is very stricked and her lectures are very very detailed. By her note taker from book store study the questions at the end of each chapter and she is easy.

Mrs. Gibbs is wonderfully strict, so the class can acutally learn! Tough subject, but she is completely thorough & her study guide is worth the money. She seems mean to some (usu. the slackers/manipulators), but if you follow her rules & her instructions all is well. Class is well-structured & she is personable & helpful, if you give her a chance.

I LOVE her!!!! I came out of her anatomy class feeling like a genius. it was extremely hard, but rising to the challenge was very rewarding. had to form a study group and devote many hours to study. She warns you in the beginning thats how it is. Shes very clear in lecture and gives you all the info you need to pass. Taking her for physio for sure.

Strict but fair and a very good teacher. I took her over the summer and got an A. It was really hard and took every second of my life, but she was there to teach which is more than I can say for other teachers around there. She was always willing to answer questions, you just have to get used to her cut and dry format in the class.

I really like Mrs. Gibbs! She's very clear and organized with her class. I was scared of the lab exams at first, but her website is amazing and has labeled pictures of whatever you need to ace the exam. Lecture exam is a little harder. I study straight from the book along with her notetaker. Very helpful and I highly recommend. You'll learn a lot!!

The best teacher I've ever had, and the most difficult class I've ever taken. To do well in this class you need to be there, you need to do the assignments and you need to study 10-25 hours a week. Good luck!

Took anatomy in the summer, M-TH 8-430pm, talk about OMFG! But it was worth it, she was a good teacher & I shoulda paid attn more, probly coulda got an A instead of a B if I did. YouTube videos of cat disection to help with practicum. Strict, but its just to keep u in check, otherwise you'd fail asap.

She is nice but seems strict at first...class was not too hard for me but for those who have never taken chemistry or a bio101 class might seem weird and difficult. Anyways she is very straightforward, there's homework almost every class and projects and in class activities so don't miss any classes!!

Teacher very nice. Lectures and labs were good(you think they are good till you get your exam grades). Exams were ridiculous. I studied over 40 hours every week (studied everyday), and still failed every exam. More than half the class failed every exam. Have to retake this class (@ a different school though). I heard Harvey is extremelly tough too.

Mrs Gibbs is hands down the best teacher I have ever had at vvc. I took her for anatomy and Physio and I can confidently say that I am prepared for nursing school now because of her. I have changed my study habits and the way I view new concepts because of her. She is an amazing teacher teaching difficult material. If you fail that's all on you.

I loved Gibbs I took her for Physio and anatomy. She is organized, clear, and gives very helpful study material. I highly recommend the note taker and to ace the tests study the questions at the back. know them, she even tells you to study them. And just keep in mind this material in general is hard it is not only her. You must study a lot to pass.

This class was an ass kicker for sure but I learned so much. Ms. Gibbs is one of the best instructors I have ever had, very strict but for good reason. I was waitlisted 4 semesters until I got in. She supplies so much study material, note taker, her BB page, study guides etc. STUDY A LOT,exams are no joke. She loves her job and it shows.

Best Teacher I have ever had! I have over almost 60 units at VVC and Mrs. Gibbs is by FAR the best teacher I have ever had. It is a very hard class but she makes it as easy as possible to both learn all the material and get an A. If you study the note taker question, do the homework and EC you will get an A no problem. Mrs. Gibbs is one of the best professors. I rarely used the textbook (used to see figures) and I got an A in the class. This does not mean the class was easy, I studied at lease 1 hour a day. I recorded the lectures (very helpful) and studied from the supplemental notetaker while I listening to the recorded lecture. Must do the HW and EC.

Mrs. Gibbs is absolutely an AMAZING professor. She tells you from the beginning what she expects from her students, and as long as you can follow rules you will be fine. This class is tough, but she sets you up with the right tools (ex: her note taker) to help you succeed. Studying is absolutely mandatory! I recommend her 100%.

Jessica Gibbs is absolutely amazing! She may be a bit snappy but she will push you and keep you on your toes! She gives you everything that you need to be successful in her class. Only used the textbook for pictures that were on the lab tests but borrowing from other people is doable. Tests are based off her supplemental books and the questions after every chapter will show up on the test. Do all the hw and be on time. Took the class during winter while taking CSU classes.

Professor Gibbs is awesome. Definitely makes you work for your grade but she is always there to help if you have any questions. This is a tough class but if your willing to put the time to study you should be good.

I have 2 kids. i received an A not an easy A you really need to work hard for it. study her questions in the review. make flashcards. Anatomy is really tough class. I took Gibbs during the summer for Bio211 and it was so tough i did not pass so this semester i took her again and I passed it is tough but if you put the time into studying you'll pass, she gives you everything you need know in order to pass. Yes, her class is tough but if you put in the time to study you can definitely get an A! Buy the notetaker its super helpful and DO the study prompt questions ON YOUR OWN, trust this will help you ace the exams. Mrs. Gibbs is an amazing teacher. I record all her lectures & listen to them back really helps. theres post lecture homework & a experiment & a power point presentation. Only 4 test each worth 150 points. Test are half multiple choice and half essay she doesn't tell you what the essays they are. Tough grader STUDY ALOT! Follow her rules be on time.

Took Gibbs for anatomy and she did such an outstanding job explaining everything. She made it seem as if it was common sense and really made it less intimidating. She is VERY strict so people don't disrupt her lectures/class, which I like. Put in work and you'll get the grade you want.

I will not sugar coat it, this will be the HARDEST class you take as a prerequisite. Mrs. Gibbs is not an easy grader at all, but you WILL learn in her class, if you put in the work. She is an excellent professor, yeah she has her days, but who doesn't? She is very strict, but if you're a good class, she will return the favor with extra credit.

Her lectures were awesome! I learned a lot. I took her in the summer term and it was a lot to handle If you have the time take her in a longer term, but if you cant its possible to get through it! Labs reflect right off the lecture and a lot of group work.

DON'T BUY THE BOOK! Only buy the note taker. Material she tests on is in the study guide in the note taker/lecture, all of it. Be prepared to study, A LOT! She doesn't grade the lab manual, it's only used for experiments. She tracks attendance so be present to pass. Extra credit is available if you respect her rules. Requires insane amount of work

Best Bio Teacher ever. She gets you so well prepared for nursing, you will outshine other students by alot if you go to a major university. She is known for producing the best students and professionals. Zero nonsense, perfect for adults so if you're immature you won't last. Extremely funny, caring, and knowledgeable.

I loved Professor Gibbs! She was very clear on what was expected. I passed her class with a C, and I am usually an A student. I took it online and I still learned in her class (usually I find it hard for information to actually stick online). She does not give out extra credit unless you earn it as a class. Tests are long and you NEED to study!

Do yourself a favor and take her class. Knowledgeable, caring, and charismatic. The class is tough and requires you to be accountable in your education, which is why a lot of people struggle. If you work hard then you will succeed and take skills, wisdom, and critical thinking that will take you far. Nursing is way easier so you are prepared.

Professor Gibbs is a great teacher! All those giving bad reviews didn't work hard enough because you WILL WORK FOR YOUR GRADE. I absolutely recommend getting her NoteTaker and using the study guide in the back. If you can answer those questions, you will do well on her exams. Had Gibbs for human anat spr 2022, the class was very organized with modules and material related to the chapter. The videos were very long but they have to be when you're trying to explain a whole chapter of the human body into one video. You have to be accountable, and you get the grade you work for. If your lazy dont take this class.

It was a challenging course with only 6 weeks for the winter semester. But with dedication and self-motivation, it is easy to get an A. I ended the semester with 105+ numeral grade for anatomy. I believe, she is misunderstood but she is an excellent professor. Her depth of knowledge about the subject matter is commendable.

I was nervous to take this class due to the reviews, but honestly it wasn't bad at all. She gives you all the necessary resources to get an A. Get her supplemental lab packet and notetaker, do the review questions at the end and you'll be good on her tests. It's not an easy A, but as long as you study you will be fine.

I was afraid to take her because of her ratings. I took the hybrid online class. She is very straight forward, she lectures heavy but they really help, if you listen and take notes it's no way you can fail. I started the semester with an F so yeah, do the work and you'll be fine. Pay very close attention to DATES and TIMES that assignments due!

Take her! Online was straight forward, was able to manage a full-time job as well as another class with this. I've never had to reach out to her, but she does have many student-teacher post where you can ask questions. she provides extra credit. Only issue I had was the dissection of cats (I love cats) but luckily, it's all over with. good luck!

Studying and reviewing notes is essential for doing well on exams. Reading the textbook is also helpful when extra credit opportunities are given, as information from the book is included. I love the lectures! She explains things so clearly that it's easy to grasp. There are no extensions on assignments, so being proactive is the best approach.
