i am not sayin she is easy bt if u listen in de class i'M sure u ll do gOOd. she's fair as long as u show u care she will help u. Most of the time u on ur own in writin essays. she gives extra credits which is mostly watchin bORNIg movies at ur own time. BE ON TIME.go 2 class everyday and PAY Attention. U WILL PASS i dont think she didnt pas anyone

she is a great teacher you will not have a hard time passing and if you are there are a lot of extra credit. She always energetic. Shes not mean . you will pass for sure as long as you do the work.

You better be prepared to write a lot.

I really learned a lot in her class. She was a very competent teacher who spoke clearly and made her expectations known. I appreciated that she made us do writing and complete work......isn't that why we are in school, to learn and to grow?

She will scare you at first, with a hard line, but she is really very nice. Loves English, so she is an excellent teacher. Do the work and you will do well. Gives some extra credit. Points are weighted heavily, so doing well on quizzes is very important. Subjectivity on essays varies, especially on final. I would take her again.

A+: Jessica is a fair grader and gives hints about what will be on the upcoming tests which aren't hard. Her class was fun. She is open to any interpretation of the text as long as you can back it up. She is a Victorian enthusiast so expect some Shakespeare or Wilde. However, the class is not cluttered with that stuff. Participation is a must. BC

She's an easy teacher, as long as you suck up, you'll get an A. And, if you show interest in the Victorian Era, she'll be even more nicer with your grade. Overall, she's a nice teacher willing to help you pass the class.

A very helpful teacher that loves Victorian era and old school stuff like the word "groovy" but grades a little hard and expects a lot. took 5 week class and its worth it but moves fast one essay per week.

prof groper was a very nice teacher i can add that she was really funny too. awesome english class. everyone would interact in this class and say their opinions. shes very chill and i recommend people to take her class.

The class isn't that boring but the teacher is very stubborn. She says there's only 3 essays but there's also a research paper, a few in class essays, and a few other essays. The homework was only essays. Oh and the final was an essay.

You have to write three essays and a research paper. There is also a book that you have to read and take quizzes on it. Basically, get ready to read and write alot.

Class participation is a must, but groper makes it fun and interesting. Very good teacher. Groper is a fine addition to the staff and her class was interesting and fun. And she is easy to look at too.

It seems impossible to get an A in this class. I did all my work, never missed a class, turned in all my papers on time, READ THE BOOK.... and still got a B. This teacher just doesn't know how to give a solid A...everything is a 88.9 or something random like that. -__-

Gives 3 Essay, and 3 inclass essay.Homework is piece of cake. she grades essays fair.Very helpful but, if you did not read the assigned book, Book-quiz will ruin your grade later on.

I dont like rating teachers but in her case raters are being unjust because they got a bad grade. she is easy if you read the book thoroughly, do not watch the movie or get the cliff notes it wont help, attendence is importatnt and yes there are essays but she gives a chance to help your grade out before getting a final grade. she is a good teacher

she is very helpful, she will find time to check your rough draft if you need, she is very fair, if you work hard and do all the assignments, attend the class and participate in discussions, you'll be in a good shape to get an A

If you are lazy do not take her. Just be honest with yourself. Bottom line, she is passionate about English and is always there to answer questions or do better if you get a mark you didn't like on an essay. I am an A student and got a B on the first essay. i simply spoke with her during her office hours and I have got 3 A's on the next essays.

She is by far the best teacher I had in the 2 years I spent at GCC. I took her 3 times and got two B's and one C. Pay attention in class she actually has information that is useful. Attendance is crucial all I can really say is take her class you wont be sorry. I am now an English major thanks to her :)

she is could talk alot sometimes but her class is really helpful. u learn alot and u become a better writer. she is very organized and understanding. the reason i got a C was bcuz i had some problems. but i know i could of done better. use her office hours.just do her homework and essays and you will pass her class

Prof. Groper is very honest and helpful. She demands a high work ethic but is a pretty easy grader. She is pretty easy if you follow instructions and do all the work. Good experience overall.

Among all the English teachers I have had in GCC, Groper is the best because she cares about her students, and wants them to succeed. She is helpful and passionate about teaching English. She is fair as along as you work hard in your assignments and essays. Beware she will give six essays along with final and research essay.

One of the best teachers I've ever had! She is fair. The class was very interesting. I learned to write essays very fast, because Professor Groper is always willing to help. Use office hours to improve your papers, participate, and don't be late. Lazy people take someone else! Pr. Groper works very hard and expects same effort from the students.

Dr. Groper is one of those teachers who REALLY cares about her students and puts a lot of work into her assignments. She expects her students to work hard and do the reading but if you need extra help she will go out of her way to assist you. Particapate online and go to her office hours and you will succeed. Great teacher, wonderful class.

Professor Groper is amazing. She lets you do rewrites for all 3 in class essays and all 3 take home essays. Essay's are based off textbook readings. She's extremely helpful and offers extra credit. She has an upbeat attitude and an awesome personality. Definitely recommend her for English. You won't regret this decision.

Professor Groper is enthusiastic about discussions and helping us learn, but her class is not an easy A. You have to make good use of your writing skills and ask her for help if you need it. Otherwise it's an entertaining and engaging class!

Professor Groper is one of the most dedicated, helpful, and enthusiastic English professors at GCC. Her class is interesting and you'll become better writers at the end of the semester by tenfold. Getting an A is very possible, but you'll have to work for it. She also grades very fairly.I'm definitely taking her 104 next semester.

She is such a nice teacher. She allows rewrites for all of the essays except the research paper and the final. She is very helpful and assigned great books to read. Read the books she assigns because she gives quizzes after each section. Also go to her office hours and she will help you improve your paper. Fun class! Learned a lot!

Great English professor! You read the Hunger Games trilogy and the whole class is based on that! All essays have rewrites and after each reading section, 10 question quiz. Read all the material and do your best on the essays. Easy A! Love her! Easy to communicate with and very understandable! TAKE HER!

She is one of the best English professors I've had. She is extremely helpful and wants you to succeed and will help you as long as you see her. She does have quizzes from readings, but as long as you read you will have no trouble. Great professor !!

Professor Groper, simply put, is the best. She assigns great reading materials, is clear when it comes to your essays, and is a fair grader. She gives a few quizzes and very easy homework assignments. Her energy and love for what she teaches not only makes the class enjoyable but also makes you want to attend every class. She also allows rewrites!

She is very understandable. She expects the best of you. If you are lazy, do not take her class. I learned so much in her class; for that reason I'm taking her English 101 class the following semester.Once again, she is awesome, she is fun, she is very helpful, and very energetic. Dr. Groper makes the class fun and entertaining. She will assign re-writes on all her essays (expect research paper), so there is no excuses for not passing the class. She does grade strictly, she believes that there's no such thing as the perfect paper. You will have to work hard for an A and expect lots of reading/writing for homework.

She's nice and all. But her grading is pretty strict. I did my essays pretty well, not the best, but she still graded pretty harsh. If you are not good at essays do not take her, if you are, go for it.

One of the best professors at Glendale Community College. She really cares about her students and wants each person in the classroom to succeed in her class. Very helpful with essay rewrites and appreciates students who put full effort in their work. Cannot say enough great things about this professor. Do yourself a favor and take her for English!

Ms. Groper is the best English Professor at Glendale College. She is tough but is very dedicated to help her students succeed. When you mess up on an essay or in class essay, she gives rewrites to improve. I struggled and hated English. But, when I took her I did well. Don't be lazy and all will go well.

Jessica Groper is by far the best English professor at GCC. I am a student with a disability that has always struggled with english. But taking her has helped me improved. She is a tough teacher, but if anyone needs help, she will help. Expect a lot of writing, remember there is rewrites on the essays. Also there is no final exam. RPaper2000words.

Dr. Groper is an amazing English professor. Yes, you will do a lot of writing, but trust me, it'll help you in the long run! Make sure you do the re-writes; they boost your grade a lot! Prof. Groper, was a great professor in the short period of time that I had her (She was pregnant) She was sweet, and her lectures were interesting to attend (Mandatory) Definitely take her, she teaches HUNGER GAMES!

By far the best professor. I took her for 101 and 102 and got A's in both classes. I have ADHD and am a student with a disability. She is very helpful. She gives rewrites on every essay except the Research paper which is around 2000 words. There is also no final other than the research paper. Highly recommended. If you struggle, ask her for help.

Fun, straight forward, engaging, interesting, & extremely beneficial for building a solid foundation for the basics of English. She does take attendance & expects you to do homework, but your efforts will be rewarded with inspiration, encouragement, and a complete understanding of the material. Her upbeat spirit also makes the class entertaining.

Professor Groper made English 101 very interesting. I loved the class lectures. Just do all of your essays and homework to get an A. Participation is also a must. She is very helpful during her office hours and you are able to revise the 2 in-class essays, and 3 essays, except the research paper.

Mrs Groper is an amazing teacher who is really passionate about her subject and her students. She loves class participation and gives thoughtful feedback on essays. Be prepared to read and write essays on 4 books including a research paper. She allows re-writes on essays minus the research. I definitely recommend taking her class you wont regret it

This class was focused on the Internet which was what the essays focused on. We only had to read 1 book, but she gave us some big reading packets too. She assigned the research paper the 1st day of class to work on throughout the semester. She's very nice and funny. You must do the readings and if you want to pass. One easy final project @ the end

I've taken her twice and can honestly say I have become a much better writer because of her. She cares about her students and will help you every step of the way if you reach out to her. She allows for rewrites which is really helpful and she keeps the class discussions interesting.

Groper is a great teacher. If you show effort and put in a good amount of work, it's an easy A. She cares about her students and is always clear about the work she assigns. She offers some extra credit (summer class), and essay revisions for more points. Like any other English class, she cares about how you write, but it helps for future writing.

Difficult/fun class. Didn't really have a clear teaching method in place for summer. We spent more time talking about the Hunger Games than how to improve essays, which were 65% of our grade. Personality wise, she was upbeat, friendly, intelligent. If you're an English major looking to improve your writing, take this. Want an "easy a"? Not here.

Loved this class. Not one lecture was boring, and I actually wanted to read the material. It's a good idea if you attend writing workshops. Dont be afraid to ask for help. She gives you many opportunities to improve your grade. You'll pass if you aren't lazy, and if you put effort into the essays.

Groper is AMAZING! A lot of reading, but it's the Hunger Games trilogy. gives quizzes (3 per book) but if you read, it'll be easy. Gives a lot of essays (5 plus research) and is tough on them but she lets you revise them all except the last two. If you ask her for help, she'll give it. May sound a bit tough, but she's amazing & I'd take her again.

I loved this class, you HAVE to read and go to class. She allows you to do a rewrite on each essay except the final. If you did poorly on your essay you need to go sit with her for help. She's very available with her office hours. She's a tough grader but will absolutely help you achieve a higher grade.

Professor Groper is definitely one of the most sweetest teachers in GCC. I took her for my first semester for English 101. She definitely challenges her students to become better writers. She is very strict when it comes to everything about grammar. So be careful making mistakes because it will be deducted right away. But overall she is great.

Hard but definitely worth it. Take it if you want to improve your essay writing skills.

Great teacher. Shes a pretty tough grader but lets you revise every essay you do and as long as you fix most of the errors on your essay you're sure to get at least a grade higher on it. Had her for 101 and 102 and got a B in both. As long as you try hard on the essays you're fine. Also really strengthens your writing skills. Highly recommend.

Seriously, all these people complaining are just mad that they actually had to work hard. Everyone I know who took Dr. Groper loved her class. Yes she's hard, but if you do well in her class you will do well in every other writing class you ever have to take. And she really cares about her subject and her students.

This professor is so passionate about the topics she teaches that its axtually refreshing. We read Great Expectations and An Inspector Calls, plus the textbook which was nothing too hard at all. There are a total of 3 essays plus a research paper and a final. I really like her class and you can get the A but you have to work for it.

Professor Groper was a great teacher she really cares about her students improving their writing & gives great feedback if you go to her office hours. You read The Hunger Games trilogy and she quizzes you on the readings. You right 2 in class essays & 3 other essays based on the readings she assigns. She does let you rewrite your essays.

I loved this class. She is so helpful, gives you so many chances to revise, feedback on every single paper. It was hard, and I think I could of earned a B+ or A but I had work issues. But she made the readings interesting and the essays really made me think. I got the college experience.

She's funny and tries to make class fun. She isnt teaching the hunger games books anymore. Go to class and follow directions. Its not that hard to pass.

If you're willing toshow up and pay attention, it's not hard to do well at all. She walks you through the steps for each assignment and will read your drafts as many times as you ask. People who go home and write at the last minute aren't taking advantage of all the help she offers.

My lack of effort nearing the end of the semester got me this grade. Professor Groper is awesome! I truly enjoyed her lectures and the conversations we had as an entire class. She is a tough grader but she is all about revisions. So make sure you revise, revise, REVISE!! Show up, put in the effort, and do the work. Its not hard but its not easy.

To be honest, she is an incredible teacher, with a degree well earned. Although she is a phenomenal teacher, on my way to class I would hope the San Andreas fault would go off so class would be cancelled because she is a VERY tough grader. She allows essays to be redone though and if you do not participate give up because you already failed.

Professor Groper is an amazing teacher. She is clearly qualified and can help a student learn the ropes quickly. Unfortunately, her grading is EXTREMELY strict and is kinda hard to keep up with, especially as a first year student. At the end of the day, she's a good professor if you're willing to take a chance!

This is an okay class. The class can be tough at times with quite a bit of work to do but she is willing to work with you and make extensions if you reach out to her.

Dr Groper is a very good teacher. She is very willing to allow you to redo essay and assignments if you turned them in late or whatnot. She has high expectations of her students but they lead you to produce college level writing. She really gets you to think about an assignment. And to explain in depth your argument.

Professor Groper has high expectations, but the class is structured to help you improve your writing skills. Utilizing resources like Unstuck study alongside the textbook can make a big difference in mastering the material.
