Easy A course to fulfill FYS, WE, and SJ core requirements, but the class can get very boring. Weekly writes due at the end of each week (1 to 1.5 pages long reflections) and two group presentations, which can be a pain if you get stuck with group members who dont contribute.

She was fine as a professor, there is a good amount of group work and two presentations. Some of the assignments could get confusing, but she would try to clear things up. But for a SJ and WE credit it was worth it.

Halliday is an AMAZING professor and person. She takes time to know her students names and cares about them and their success. She creates a comfortable environment and fantastic social justice content. I left this class feeling culturally competent and truly believe that what we learned really matters. She is everything I would want in aGu teacher

She is not technology savvy, has a confusing Blackboard layout, and will not be clear about assignment instructions or submittal process. Very interested in social justice issues, but to the point where it overtook the actual purpose of the class, time. She seems like a good person who wants to connect with students, but is failing.

Professor Hallidays first year seminar class was very inspirational. You do have weekly writings but they are only one page and nothing too difficult. There are also some presentations sprinkled through the semester. Overall, a great choice for a professor as she really cares about her students.

Professor Halliday relies on group work for the entire class and she does not let you pick your group members. She was not very easy to get ahold of outside of class and does not accommodate absences no matter the reason. Easy A, but the class can be very frustrating due to her teaching style. Canceled class a lot and assigned easy weekly writes.

Jessica almost never references soon-to-be-due assignments in her lectures so if you don't regularly monitor the assignments page, you will not know about assignments until the night before its due or even after. Her lack of understanding of any out-of-class life is remarkable. Do not take Jessica as a professor if you value your time out of class.

Loved this class, it was so easy but Halliday did a lot of work to make it applicable to college-and real world life. Group project heavy so hope you get a decent group. Halliday cares a lot but you have to show up. Cancels class- huge plus.

Take this class for FYS if you need a class that is fairly easy and have a difficult major. Professor Halliday is very kind and definitely shows it in class. The class consisted of weekly reflection papers, a couple of group presentations, and usually watching TED talks/ reading articles for homework.
