Kapp is awesome! Teaches geology without making you want to kill yourself. Very helpful, though cannot say the same for her TA's.

Amazing professor, she has incredible presentation of the material in class and makes you want to go. Explains everything until you understand it and her T.A.s are all really good as well. Take this class!!

This lady is great. I would recommend her to everyone. Good lectures and the tests are easy except the essay's kill your overall test grade if you dont write a complete analysis of the question.

Kapp made the topics interesting and gave a lot of extra credit points. Make sure to go to class because she gives questions which are free points.

really nice lady. good teacher. going to class really helps because everyclass she usually does these 10 point assignments. she drops a few of your lowest grades to. tests are hard but there is only 3 including the fianl. and on each one you are aloud to use a sheet of notes

If you come to class and have somewhat of a brain, you will get an A. She has a class of 300 kids and knows everyones first name by face within two weeks. She's helpful and just downright nice. The class itself is interesting, and if you gotta take a Gen Ed, this is as good as it gets.

She is such a sweet teacher and will really help you if you ask for it. Lectures are interactive and not boring, she makes the class a lot more interesting and is very qualified.

Take this class. Easy and makes things good for you. Very nice lady, and very easy on grading. Kinda hot too...

She does take attendance by having you sign in every day but going to class is worthwhile bc she gives hints about the tests, as well as plenty of extra credit. she lets you use a 1 page cheat sheet on the tests and usually tells what the essays will be ahead of time. she is very helpful and very passionate about the subject.

Basically an easy class. Attendance is mandatory but if you go to class you get points and it usually bumps up your grade a whole letter up. Tests are ok but you get to use a one page front and back cheat sheet so no reason to fail any tests.

Attendance isn't necessery, because she posts all her lecture slides online, but you still have to go to class because attendance points are a big part of the grade. Her tests are pretty easy...she only tests on what she teaches. And she's really sweet and really helpful...she tries to make it interesting. But it's still awfully boring.

Was a joke of a class. Could take a note sheet into all 3 of the tests FINAL INCLUDED. I got a 100percent on the final exam. I would recommend taking this course to anyone who wants an easy grade. the hardest part of the class is the online quizzes/assignments

Easiest teacher ever! I can't believe she knew everyone's name, adorable! I didn't even turn in the last assignment and got 100% on it. Easy A, take this NATS with Kapp!!

She is very nice and helpful. The class is not that hard i could of gotten an A. overall cannot skip that much and have to put forth some effort.

KAPP IS AMAZING! She is a great teacher who wants all of her students to do well. She gives out TONS of extra credit. Allowed a cheat sheet of two pages on your exam of anything that you want. She drops the 2 loswest grades for eveyrthign except exams. Attendance is important! TAKE THIS AS A NATS 101! YOU WILL DO GREAT!!!

Class is easy, but the material should be made much more interesting than Kapp teaches. I was hoping to learn things in this class that were useful but all you learn are very simple concepts that most people have previously learned. While in lecture I often felt like i was in a retard classroom.

Awesome teacher. Genuinely like and cares about what she teaches. More then willing to help. Class is great too. I am changing my major because of the class. She was more then willing to meet with me to just talk about the change...even though it wasn't really class related. Awesome.

Easy class but make sure you go to every discussion group or you will lose very easy points. Nice enough teacher although the subject wasn't that interesting. You should go to every lecture too because she gives in class assignments that are more easy points. Provided you go to class and turn easy assignments in, a good grade is easy to get

This class is the easiest class I have ever taken at the UofA, but that is not to say I haven't learned anything. I learned a ton about geology, and Kapp teaches it in an entertaining and fun way. You get notes for the tests and reviews right before the tests. I really recommend this class!!!

Kapp is SOOOOO nice, she is so helpful, and her class can be sometimes boring but BEST teacher because she tries to make it entertaining and she lets you use one sheet with notes on the exams, and she always post quizzes every week but they're easy! I have a B but I could have gotten better if I didn't miss too much class

Nice professor. Showed she really cared about what she was teaching and about her students! Make sure you don't sign up for a discussion too early that you wont be able to make or else you will loose a lot of points. No makeups but she drops a couple of grades and offers some extra-credit. Plus we get to use cheat sheets on exams!

GREAT teacher! I loved this class!!! GO to your discussion sections because those assignments are what keep your grade up. Also do the online quizes, dont guess though, the answers come straight from the textbook. You are allowed to use a one page sheet of paper back and front on both tests and the final! so easy!

Professor Kapp is great! Not only did I learn a lot, it was also a relatively easy A. Just go to class (there are random easy in-class assignments), remember to do the online quizzes (answers are in the textbook), and go crazy with the note sheet you are allowed to use for tests. She makes the material interesting and cares about her students.

This teacher is amazing! And the class is EXTREMELY easy, i actually miss it. Take this class with her for an easy A, and surprisingly you learn a lot too!

Dr. K is awesome! Read the book, go to class, make a cheatsheet (1pg both sides allowed) for the exams and it will be hard to get less than an A.

A straight forward gen-ed requirement. Kapp is engaging and the class is insightful. As others have said, it is a VERY easy A, honestly if you don't get an A in this class you're not trying at all, the exams were open note!

Walk through this class just attend and do simple bookwork and get an "a" thrown at your feet!

Kapp is a great teacher. This class is SO EASY - you would have to try to NOT get an A. The material is rather boring, but Kapp tries to make it fun (she fails most of the time, but it's funny to see her try). EASY GEN ED I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS. She made it clear what was on every test and the tests were super easy and very straightforward.

This class was extremely fun to attend and Dr. Kapp was a great teacher. The only downside of the class is that they treat you like you are in High School, with T.A.s going down the hallways looking to kick you out if you have out a phone, or if you are talking to your neighbor, too strict, but fun class.

Dr. Kapp is a GREAT professor. She is the best professor out of the three. Homeworks are hard. You need to go to study group. Have to get B or better on every test to have an A in the class. Dr. Jull that teaches with her is TERRIBLE and you can't comprehend anything from him. Got a B in the class. They treat you like hs students. Patrol with TA's.

She is really interested in what shes talking about and really tries her best to help you understand. There was homework due almost every week, took a lot of time, was hard, and graded difficult by the TA's go to study groups for help. No study guides for the test, tutorials helped with studying, dont take preceptor class. ended up w/ good grade

Interesting lady. She had Dr. Fay&Dr.Jull teaching w/ her, & 1 was better than the other. I like her as a person&teacher. Sweet, organized, passionate,& clear. Her class was something I looked forward to. Go to Study Sessions for hw,& u'll get 5/5. Re-listen to lecture podcasts on ur own time& take appropriate notes & u'll do good on Exams.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!! I wish I could take her class again. The exams are really easy, if you do not get an A then you are not paying attention. She is understanding and helpful. There are homework assignments which everyone should get 100% on. She holds weekly study groups where TA's help you with your homework so there is no excuse! Best class!!

Super boring. It was so miserable sitting through class. The exams are easy if you pay attention and take notes in class. The essays are completely irrelevant to the lectures, but they only grade on your understanding of the article you read and grammer.

She is one of the best professors I ever had! I wish all professors were as good as her. Her class is always interesting, so you never get bored. Take this class if you are looking for an easy A!!

Professor Kapp makes the material interesting and digestible. This class was one of the easiest I've taken and everyone should expect an A if they attend class, take notes, and complete the homework with some effort. Really easy class. I'm not interested in Geology but found this class to be very easy. There are occasional in class assignments which are also easy. Not the most interesting but a good way to get a NAT out of the way

This is a super easy nats class. geology might sound like a scary topic, but Kapp makes it simple and gets straight to the point. all slides are online. hw is online- she drops one. she drops 1 test, 1 hw and 1 writing assignment. need to go to class for participation pts

She is a great teacher and makes class pretty interesting. The class isn't only lecture either, she gives time to work on activities with partners and that is time you can ask her or other TA's questions. As long as you attend class regularly and do the homeworks (easy) and the writings, you will get at least a B. Highly recommend her.

Take this class if you are looking for an easy A! The homeworks are all online and SUPER easy. All you need to do is show up to class and do the activities, and you will succeed in the class. I didn't even have to show up to the last 2 weeks of class, do the last essay, or take the final exam, and I still ended up with an A in the class.

Jessica knows her stuff. Her class is often split with this other guy, Noa Fay, who is very boring and dry when he teaches. He sucks but Dr Kapp is AWESOME. Make sure you go to class or you'll miss lectures.

Kapp is an amazing teacher! This class is awesome. Take this for an easy gen ed. No textbook, just a workbook. Attendance mandatory but the class isn't boring at all. Go to study groups, you can get bonus points and they help you on homework. Take this course!

She gives a lot of extra credit and drops one essay, drops up to 6 attendance points, and drops one exam ( which can be the final!!!!) Go to the weekly study groups for an extra 2 points on your homework and also drops 2 of those. Just make sure to study and do good on the first 3 tests so you wont have to take the final, which is cumulative

Earth FBTD is super easy. IF you go to class, do the workbook, and do the clicker questions then you will do great on the tests. The tests are pretty clear and she tells you what you need to study. TAKE THIS CLASS if you want an A and go to class.

Great teacher! If you are having troubles and you go to her office hours she is always more than willing to help! Also if you do the homework during the study hall periods you get easy extra credit. EASY A

AMAZING PROFESSOR. TA's help you a lot if you are struggling, she began using Twitter as a way to communicate with her students during and outside of class which is awesome. The tests are exactly what she goes over in class, and extra credit opportunities throughout the semester.

Prof. Kapp is one of my favorite professors at the U of A. Her lectures are fun and interesting and all of the information is accurate and clear. No essays, however there are homework assignments every couple of weeks (Which can be done with the TA's and with others in the study room). There are clicker questions. If you go to class, you will pass.

Dr. Kapp is a great professor and really cares about her students. This was one of my favorite classes, and Dr. Kapp always made the material easy to understand and interesting at the same time! Definitely would take another class taught by her!

Her grading is done by TAs, she's great at clearing up questions, do the work- you'll get an A. She drops so many things and only requires like 15 attendances which gives you so many lazy days.

It is honestly the easiest gen ed ever. you show up and get points for your clicker. you can get extra credit if you do your homework with the honors students, for writing you can type your answer to the prompt at home and transfer it in class and the tests are really easy. Also she is the kindest most wonderful teacher ever! Take this class!

Jessica Kapp is an amazing professor. Takes attendance with daily clicker questions, there are four tests, but she drops your lowest one, bring your assigned workbook to class everyday, tests are super easy (follow her on twitter and she tweets out test answers the night before), and she's super funny. Totally wish I could take this again.

I LOVE HER SO MUCH! She cares so much and is super involved with her class. She runs around in class with her heels to help everybody and anybody. You should go to class and STAY THE ENTIRE TIME. She will randomly give out extra credit so stay till the end. The class is so easy, just do your homework and the studying is easy!

This isn't your traditional college course. Dr. Kapp records the lectures and you're expected to watch them outside of class and come to class with a decent understanding of the material. She does a lot of participation points, so if you don't go to class you won't get the credit. The material is really interesting and she really cares!

Professor Kapp is my favorite professor at the U of A so far. She genuinely cares about her students. There's a short, easy quiz every class but as long as you watch the lectures, youll be fine. Kapp is a very nice teacher and her class is very easy if you do the work (Which is easy). She drops multiple grades and presents multiple opportunities to get extra credit. She is also very clear on her policy. The only downside is she doesn't accept late work of any kind.

Prof kapp is super adorable! Her lecture vids are interesting and consist of lots of details. She is very helpful, gives extra credit and is very intelligent. You have quizzes everyday, based on lecture videos you have to watch on your own, (theyre 25 min) and homework about once a week thats actually pretty hard. Although, I did enjoy this class.

I definitely recommend taking this class especially because she drops a good amount of homeworks, quizzes, participation, one writing, and one exam at the end of the semester!

If you have the chance to take this class I suggest you take it. I got a high A in this course without even taking the final. All the lectures are online and they're only about 20-25 min long sometimes shorter! All the material from the tests is taken verbatim from the activities we do in class. Come to class, get extra credit and watch the videos.

Loved this class! She has a quiz before every class that is online and only 5 questions long. She also drops half of the assignments/quizzes so it's an easy A!

Professor Kapp is amazing! She gives quizzes at the start of each class since the lectures are posted online. The tests are very easy since the exact questions on the exam are taken from the activities that are given in class. Make sure you stay the ENTIRE time since she randomly gives out participation and extra credit!

Initially, I thought I got stuck with a bs class, but I absolutely LOVED this class. I really enjoyed the material and I love Dr. Kapp. She's funny, cares for her students, and rly enjoys teaching. Every lecture has a lot of relevant notes-so I never skipped- but she drops a lot. I 200% recommend. I'm so thankful for the knowledge I've gained!!

The class is really easy to learn, she allows you to miss class 7 times with it not affecting your grade if you show up and pay attention it is an easy class to get a good grade in.

Dr. Kapp is genuinely one of my favorite profs at UA. She is very easy to get along with and makes learning about the Earth really exciting and engaging. If you're some one who constantly needs to be on their phone/tech you'll need to put it away. But she makes the lectures to interactive you wont even miss the tech for 5o mins. I 100% Recommend!

Dr. Kapp is a passionate, fun professor. I highly recommend taking this class with the honors credit. It's a fun way to get honors credit and really helps you learn the content.

Come to class because you're asked clicker questions and they're on quizzes or tests. The exams require a little more thinking, doesn't provide a study guide, but taking notes in class will help. Lots of group work with the people around you so again come to class. Very boring but pretty easy if you take notes/review slides. Drops lowest points:)

Prof Kapp is amazing. Exams aren't hard if you study the weekly 5 Q quizzes, the workbook pages, and the assignment due the day of the exam. She also gives us an opportunity to receive up to 5 extra credit points on each exam by answering clicker Q's the class before the exam. Attendance is clickers and she allows you to miss up to 5 lectures

LOVE Dr. Kapp and this class. The class is super easy, but very lecture heavy. If you take the notes from the slides (which are posted online) you will pass. She does use clickers, but is super understanding. She gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit and often cancels Friday classes. Super nice, but does move a little quickly through slides

Dr Kapp is great, take her classes if you get a chance. The tutorial workbook is not necessary so save yourself the money. I never purchased it and I still ended up with an A. As long as you take notes and review them for the exams, you're good. The graded activities are also helpful they are a great study guide. TONS of extra credit offered

Professor Kapp is one of the best professors Ive had at the UofA. She drops five attendance grades, 3 quizzes, an assignment, and an exam. Impossible not to get an A.

Three tests and 5 homework assignments. Extra credit in basically every class. Physically impossible to not get an A. I got so much extra credit every one of my tests and assignments was over 100% Our third exams average was a 99 TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU NEED A SCIENCE CREDIT!!

Professor Kapp was truly amazing. She does a great job at explaining the material she is teaching and is very passionate about it. She also drops grades so if you do well on your first three exams you don't have to take the final. She also offers so many extra credit opportunities! 10/10 would take this class again.

Dr. Kapp has been my favorite professor at UA. I have absolutely no interest in Earth Science, but I loved this class. Super easy A

Do not be intimidated by the negative reviews for Dr. Kapp. As I am searching for my second 170 gen ed, I'm having a lot of trouble finding a professor like Dr. Kapp. 20 min lectures 3 times a week, quizzes and participation on each lecture. Make a drive with all quiz and participation answers and you will get 80% of the exam right. Rest is lecture

Classes aren't mandatory, but without attending them I didn't do super well on the exams. All lectures and participation were asynchronous which was nice. Dr. Kapp is really nice and super helpful if you ask questions during class. Not a lot of work or assignments at all.

Dr. Kapp is a great professor. She truly cares about her students and will work with you if you are unclear on an assignment or grade. She is extremely patient and she's very passionate about what she teaches. I would 100% recommend taking her class!

I loved this class and Dr. Kapp was really cool! The class was super easy, big lecture, little homework. She is really good at explaining the material as well. Even though it's a big lecture, she made it feel comfortable like a small class and answers all questions.

I took this class because I heard amazing things from other people, and I was not disappointed. Professor Kapp is extremely kind and extremely knowledgeable. Her lectures are both information filled and captivating. You don't have to be interested in science to do well in this class, but good luck not taking up interest after this class.

Take her class! Such an easy A, only five homework assignments (1 gets dropped), three exams (based on lecture, open notes), and three quizzes a week (max. five questions, two attempts). Though her lectures aren't mandatory, I still recommend going as she takes a deeper dive into the material and answers any/all questions one may have!

Dr. Kapp is easily the nicest professor I have had thus far! You can complete the week's worth of work in a couple of hours in one sitting and you do not need to attend the zoom class. The quizzes are extremely easy and the tests aren't too bad. The answers are not online, but it's still super easy to get an A.

I totally recommend this class if you are looking for a Natural Science Gen Ed requirement! There is not too much homework, but there are 5 assignments throughout the semester. Overall, a great course and I learned so much about the Geosciences!! Dr. Kapp is an amazing professor :))

Professor K is a great professor! Her class is super super organized, which makes it really easy to stay on top of everything. I really recommend Geos 170 if you're looking for a natural science gen ed.

I loved this class and professor Kapp!! The class was super easy, just three 20-minutes video lectures a week, plus an insanely easy 5-question quiz for each one. There is one midterm and one final exam, plus just a few big assignments that were also really easy. The content is interesting as well!

I took this class to fill a Gen Ed and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lectures were accessible online before and after class so you could revisit content, and the assignments were easy if you took the time to think about them. Plus, Prof Kapp & TAs were really nice and easily accessible if you ever needed help with something.

Easy A 170 Gen Ed. Not super hard to follow along but prepare for class-prep videos to really get detailed information for the tests. Tests are take-home and fully open note which helps soooo much! Nice class for first semester Freshmen.

She is a professor who actually teaches all the material that is on the tests. You do not have to attend class, but attending can help you remember material. Very easy because she knows how to teach. Great gen ed class.

Prof. Kapp is a caring and informative teacher. She truly enjoys the subject matter and it shows through her lectures. Work includes 3 tests, weekly prep work that you can do all within an hour or two, and a few assignments. Not hard at all if you listen to her lectures. It is such a nice and not stressful class. Love this class! If you missed a couple classes you would not fall behind because she records all her lectures. Homework is super easy and only a couple medium assignments thought the semester. Take this class if you want a good professor and an interesting and easy gen ed. The workload may seem like a lot at times, but it's manageable. Definitely an Easy A as long as you go to class and do the weekly participation and quizzes. All tests are open note and online as well!

Easiest class ever, most things are online but if not everything is open note. Prof was super nice. Lecture heavy but I went to like 3 classes in total and finished with a 93. Prob easiest Tier 1 science you could take, highly recommend. Oh and no need to buy the tutorials book unless you want to, I never did and was fine.

I took professor Kapp's GEOS170A1. She was hands down the most kind, respected, and understanding professor I have ever had at this university. She is always willing to work with you, makes sure that you are understanding the material, and makes everything so clear. This class consists of a weekly assignment and quiz that is very attainable.

If you're looking for an easy gen-ed, this is the one to take! Professor Kapp is the absolute best and she makes the material easy and fun. She's extremely understanding and you can get ahold of her timely as well. Attendance is taken through in class participation, but the activities make up the majority of your grade. Class = A+

Dr. Kapp is honestly a fantastic professor that makes the topic teaching interesting. There are weekly online quiz and homework, but they don't take much time. There are 3 tests overall 2 midterms and 1 final although the final in optional since your lowest grade gets dropped. Your only project is a group signature assignment with clear guidelines.

Dr. Kapp is a wonderful professor to have! She's engaging, fun, and personable. She's very good at accommodations and the courseload is easy. As long as you show up to class and do the work, this class is very easy and fun.

Mrs. Kapp is a wonderful teacher. She teaches the content well, lays out what you need to do very clearly and is always open to help students get to the answer, even on the final project. Every assignment is straight forward and easy. I highly recommend this class if you're looking for an easy natural science gen ed.

I cannot stress enough how sweet Dr. Kapp is, without fail, she always taught her lectures with infectious enthusiasm. She's very understanding and gives no issues regarding late work/outside circumstances. The most important thing to pass the class is just showing up.

Very friendly and helpful. Exams tough but extra credits were available, and lowest exam score dropped. Great field trip to Grand Canyon.

Dr. Kapp was one of my first class on the UA campus, and through that 1st semester, It was clear to show that she care much for her students and always teach the class with enthusiasm. But also letting the students interact with some of the short activities during class. Assignments are not meant to be difficult with usually 1-2 hours of your week.

Prof. Kapp is an engaging and understanding instructor. With weekly assignments and open-note tests, this class is very manageable. I found unstuck study and the textbook helpful for staying on top of the material.

Dr. Kapp is one of the nicest, most genuine professors I have ever had. I can't stop recommending her to my friends; she cares about the material and gets the class involved. The homework is pretty easy, but still keeps me intrigued. I cannot recommend her class enough!

Such a chill professor. Great lectures and really good at emailing back. Drops the 2 lowest quizzes, participation worksheets, and worksheets. Absolute dog.

This was a great class with very little work. Had to do one homework (took 20-40 min) assignment and one quiz (open notes) a week and complete in class worksheets which were easy. If you show up and do the work you'll get an A. Also got out early each class.
