This is probably one of THEE best classes I have taken at John Jay. The online lectures are really interesting as she uses YouTube for her lectures and doesn't just post a bunch of readings for you to read with no guidance. You can almost feel like you're in a real classroom. Do exactly what she asks and you'll pass. it's just that simple.

She is very considerate when it comes to assignments, you are also allowed about seven freebees when it comes to the assignments that are not required. She is amazing at giving feedback and is very easy to get in touch with her. I completely recommend any classes she teaches.

I seriously wish I could take more classes with he! She's great and you can email her if you have any questions at any time. Clearly let's students know what will be done during the semester and gives them opportunities to increase their grades throughout the semester. I took History 131 online class Topics in History of Science, Technology, & Medicine which was clearly put together with amazing lectures on YouTube and a few moviesdocumentaries to watch. Honestly, The best class I have taken throughout my college career (especially as an elective). This course is so laid back, and not as stressful as other courses, plus you end up learning a lot (information that may be useful to you in the future!) Kovler cares for her students and is very understanding. Easiest class you will ever take!

As a graduating Senior, it was importatnt for me to take a course that will not damper my GPA. I 'm glad I chose HIS 131, the professor gave great information and was sensitive to the astronomical amount of work I received. Therefore, I will recommend EVERYONE take this course.

I had no idea this class was an online course when I signed up for it, but I am incredibly happy that I chose to take this course with Professor Kovler! It was incredibly stressful for me to juggle taking other classes in addition to working, but not only did Prof. Kovler make sure the workload was light, the work was extremely enjoyable!!

The rumors about this prof are for sure true. She is INCREDIBLY kind and seriously cares about the well being of her students. For most of the semester you are required to submit responses to readings/lectures twice a week, but she often gives you weeks off or asks you to watch a (relevant) film instead. No midterm, no final, no quizes, no essays.

If you attend John Jay and have not taken Professor Kovler, you need to! She is honestly one of a kind, so caring, genuine and attentive to her students needs. Her course work is super interesting. Not only that, but she allows you free passes on certain assignments, which is extremely useful for weeks with a heavy workload.

I took her course online as an elective and it was the best decision I made in my 4 years of college. You'd be a fool if you do not take her, as she is super understanding and the topics are interesting. Easy A as long as you do the work and LOTS of extra credit. There are weekly online lectures that are very interesting and assignments that are relatively easy. She is a very helpful and caring person, take her you wont regret it.

Prof Kovler knows the material very well. The entire course is based on weekly responses sometimes without prompts so it is not as easy to retain certain concepts. It is designed to be a straightforward course as an intro to PTSD.

Summer Session- Professor Kovler is responsive, caring and engaging. Professor Kovler is truly a gem! There were a lot of reading materials for the class including a weekly prompt to complete but the work was doable. I learned so much in 5 weeks about dissociative identity disorder. I found a great interest in victimology through this course.

Dr. Kovler is the first professor whose lectures I feel really prepared me to be a clinician. I hung onto her every word and she taught me so much in such a short time. Highly recommend!

Professor Kovler is truly a genuine soul, very understanding with assignments & doesn't bother students about deadlines. She cares if you try. But, her class is all about the Rorschach test & you're left to teach yourself most of it which is hard and draining. The test isn't even used in real life so it feel pointless. its interesting though.
