she is a challenging teacher. can be strict at times, but you will learn a lot from her if you do the work. she knows her stuff and has great passion. encourages and cares about students. funny at times. very clear, coherent and organized. recommended.

I got straight A's except for 2 C's and 2 B's and ended up with a C in the class. Not a fair grader. & my classmate who had mostly C's got a B.

Very helpful. If you take good notes, and follow her directions, you should not have a problem getting a good grade. She is a fair grader, and you will learn a lot in her class. Add this class if necessary. It is worth your time.

Awesome teacher! Creative assignments. Loved every class. If you like English, you will love her class. I can tell she's passionate about what she is teaching and sincerely wants to help students learn. She's a very fair grader and if you are a writer...she comments on your work alot which is always lovely. Totally recommend!!!

She is very good in lecture. She keeps you on your toes and tries to keep it interesting. She is, however, very strict and she hates giving A's... at least I think so. It's the only B in my transcript, but enlish isn't my first language anyway. I did work my tail off though, so it must've been her problem too

she's very intimidating.. if ur up for a challenge to learn more than jus an english course, i highly recommend her...but if ur lookin for an easy A, forget it.. it aint no cakewalk for anything.. gotta work for every point.. i thought of dropping it, but if i did, then i wouldve lost.. so challenge her too and youll make it.. its worth the test.

One of my favorite teachers! This class is a lot of work. If you're lazy don't bother. Prof. mintz is extremely helpful and really cares. She gives you the opportunity to rewrite and learn from your mistakes. The class is interesting and you will learn a lot. I highly reccomend this teacher!

I absolutely loved this class. 1st day of class was extremely intimidating. I was totally freaked out. The next class and the rest of the semester was great. There is alot of reading and writing in the class but it wasn't hard. If you go to class, pay attention, and do your assignments, you'll do well.

This lady is a great teacher! She thorougly explains everything for you if you don't understand something. You read and write essays. She grades very fair and taught me so many things about writing and grammar!

Best english teacher I ever took. She had a good sense of humor, gets to the point, explains the topic til everyone understands and is very fair. You must go to class! Homework didos given daily but questions from test come directly, word for word from homework. You can't fail this class. I would love to take this teacher again.

she it a great teacher... lots of work but not so much that you cant do it... tests are middle school stuff and essays tests are from the book... internet ass. easy to group work everyday in class but no presintations.cool teacher you should take her. i learned a lot and i hate english but it was ok in her class.first day might be scary but its not

Show up to class, work hard, and it's an easy A or B. Take this course if you want to improve your writing and reading skills. Great Teacher!

J. Mintz is an amazing english teacher. She is very helpful, and if she sees that you are doing well/trying to do well, you will get major points. There is HW almost everyday, but it's mainly writing responses to the readings, so there is no right/wrong answer. Essays are easy too, b/c she tells you exactly what you have to do in order to do well.

Mintz is very helpful and is an exceptional teacher. She does assign quite a bit of homework for a community college English 101 class but it isn't terribly difficult. She grades fairly too.

I took this class on line. Prof. Mintz is very friendly, responds quickly to email. One research paper due. She provided step by step process for those of you afraid of the process! Class also requires 3 short essays.........Highly recommend and is easy to do from home

Took the class online, huge amount of work. Worked my fingers to the bone and got a C. She's a hard grader, seeks perfection. No extra credit assignment allowed. Too lenient on due dates. Very critical, even over something simple such as grading your profile. But you do end up learning and it prepares you for English 102.

Kool teacher... group work inclass almost everyday, picks people sometimes..goes around the class to everyone gets a chance... get a point everytime you go to class... some internet work sooooo easy... but if i can pass it im sure anyone can.... funny at times. dont get scared the first days on class like i did. trust

As long as you stay proactive in assignments, do not slack off, do every assignment you will be fine. There are 4 essays, around 13 discussions, around 13 grammar assignments and one research paper. The professor expects you to be at English 101 level but is also very helpful. She grades fairly. Bottom line; do the work and you will do well.

I liked this online class. It wasn't easy, but I did get an A because I tried hard. Gives a good deal of work, but nothing unmanageable. Make sure you turn everything in properly/on time because she won't give you second chances.

This was an online class but she was very involved and helpful. Recommended for 101.

Gives a manageable work load but its nothing too difficult. At the same, don't expect this to be a class where you can receive an easy A. You must complete your work on time and to never procrastinate. In order to pass with a decent grade, you're going have to work for the grade in which you desire. Take this class if you're willing to learn!

I barely did my discussions and I got full credit every time. Really easy class YOU SHOULD TAKE IT! I did all the assignments last minute and I got an A in the class. No need to try and you'll pass with flying colors.

GREATEST TEACHER!!!!!! She is a hard grader but if you do all of your assignments you are fine. I took her online class and it was crystal clear, I LOVED THIS CLASS!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!

Professing Mintz, was my first online class and it was wonderful. She goes through every inch of the text book, but her goal is for you to understand English. You will need to work for your grade, but it's possible to receive an A it's really up to you. Highly Recommend!

I loved this class. It was my favorite of the semester. She taught me what it meant, not just to be a good writer, but a great writer. Prof. Mintz pushed me to excel, and I saw the growth in my writing at the end of the term. Highly recommend her online class.

I took the online course that she was teaching. Her was very critical on her grading. She expects that you follow her writing methods. Overall, I learned a lot, but there was a lot of work involved.

The class was not to easy, but I learned a lot from Professor Mintz. She is a tough grader, but again this is not high school. If you slack off and do not the work you deserve to get a bad grade. She looks for perfection and I and that is fine. Take her class, you will learn from her.

I really enjoyed taking Professor Mintzs class she was very helpful. I was in her English 101 online class and don't think that its an easy class, for those who read and do all the work she is a great teacher. Just log on everyday do your work and you should be fine.

Professor Mintz is a great instructor. She is always on top of assignments and her explanations cover everything, almost as if in a classroom. She is very thorough in her notes with many examples. She has many reminders set for deadlines and due dates. Highly recommended professor!

To much readings and almost imposable to take her while having other classes. Not a fair grader. To test her I told my grandmother (who is an English professor) to grade my paper and help get an A. She gave me a B- and could not tell me why. She took off random points for nothing. She was mad because she forgot to grade one part bc I called her out

Prof. Mintz is VERY clear in what she expects. You cannot wait until the due date to work on your submission. She helps when you ask, and returns email very quickly. There is a lot of reading - IT'S ENGLISH 102. You can read what other students submit,she has her work cut out for her. Anyone complaining struggles with english. Good, fair teacher.

She is great! I am currently taking this class online and it is very easy! If you do all the work on time, then you will definitely pass this class with an A! :D quizzes have review assignments before them to prepare you for the quiz.

This is a very organized class. Clear lectures/guidelines. Final is based on literary terms discussed in lectures. Weekly discussions, one exam, two essays, one research paper. Books are $3-$7 online, order early! Prof. Mintz is very helpful--she answered each of my emails and posted questions clearly in positive and caring manner within 24 hours.

Professor Mintz is truly a g-d send, I had taken her English 101 and 102 online classes and would take 103 with her if she taught it. She literary showed me how to write an organized paper and I have benefited from her tutelage and guidance. Although I am not a strong test taker I did well on the the few tests she gave.

I'm currently taking her English 28 class online. Her class is pretty easy but she's a tough grader when it comes to doing little mistakes on your discussion. She will not give students extra credit. She takes her English major serious.

Basically if you do the reading and read the lecture notes, you can pass this class. She gives feedback on how to improve. Don't be discouraged if you don't receive 100% if you are used to it, she grades on perfection level, but does allow for dropping the lowest grade.

Professor Mintz has been great so far. Her directions are very clear and to the point. This class isn't so tough, so you should be able to pass. If you have any questions regarding your grade, you can always message her. Best of luck! I would definitely take her class again.

Great experience in online English 102. Class is very clear, well-organized, and fair. However, reading the module material, doing the assigned reading, following specific directions, and completing assignments on-time is an absolute must. I would recommend this teacher to others and would take a course she taught again.

Professor Mintz is one of the most supportive professors. Anytime I had a question for her she was super fast at responding and very generous. You will have to put time into the class in order to do well. The class is based on discussion boards, a research essay, and 4 exams. Be prepared for the exams and do the hw you will do fine.

I love Professor Mintz. She is very clear and gives excellent feedback. She gives a fair number of assignments and is easily accessible. You must do all of her work, there is no extra credit. Take her, she is great!

Oh she's amazing; she puts so much effort into the class and, as expected from a UC Berkeley graduate, is highly gifted and passionate.

She's an amazing person and a great teacher. It's a lot to do and a lot to read. But what are you expecting? It's a college level literature class. If you are lazy, you will fail. She gives good feedback and answers questions right away.

For me the prof was fine do my work get B's and stuff on the assignments was pretty straightforward easy discussions and interesting readings and essay topics would definitely recommend if your an English major and looking for an adavanced English class to take ( take her online if you can its easy and less social stress).

Professor Mintz was a great online instructor. She is very organized and gives clear instructions. Most of the assignments involve reading an article, posting about it, and responding to others. There are also multiple quizzes and 3 or 4 papers due throughout the semester. If you're responsible and on top of your work, you'll have no problem!

Loved this class! Assignments open on Monday and due on Sunday. She gives you options for weekly readings- followed by an essay. Be prepared to write. She gives VERY CLEAR instructions. Gives feedback on every assignment. Loved her organization. Would take her again!

Professor Mintz was an incredible professor! Would take again! I took spring semester fully online and she gave very clear instructions and was very organized and friendly. We would have a discussion chat box where we could ask her about anything if we were confused or just had a question. She would assign one discussion every week and 2 essays.

Don't let her syllabus intimidate you. She's a very kind and understanding professor, sets clear expectations and grades, and overall isn't the toughest grader. She actually dropped the second essay from the course and eased up our workload, 1/4 of the time we had no homework to submit, only to read. If you do the work, you'll get an A.

Professor Mintz is amazing!!! Her class was by far the easiest, all you had to do was write one essay about your choice of topic. There is no finals. And you only had to write discussions every week or so, while also taking the three quizes with all the answers in the material she provides. I recommend her 100%.

Pretty solid professor. No complaints about her. Her assignments aren't really scheduled for a whole semester's worth so there are weeks that you won't be doing any assignments.

Took her for a few classes and never had a single problem. She's usually very understanding when it comes to turning in late work. the assignments and papers are very clear and she gives really good feedback.
