Good, fair amount of work but very nice and lenient.
She is a wonderful anatomy teacher . She helps out a lot with the stuff that difficult to understand. Fair amount of work and really good.

She is a great teacher. Fair amount of work and explains everything thoroughly. Fun to have.
The class is pretty hard no matter what teacher, but I learned a lot from her. Her tests are hard and there's a lot of outside work. It was her first semester teaching this class so her notes weren't that great, but she'll probably make it easier in the upcoming semesters!
This class is a hard class in general. SHe is a very helpful teacher and fun to be around. She tries to adjust for the students. If you are willing to study hard this is a good class because she will always answer questions and even stay afer if you need extra help.
she is lazy and the worst teacher at el camino. It is almost as if she doesn't like you, she won't pass you.
I took her and she seemed nice at first, then she would have weird mood swings. I understand what the other rater means by "It seems like she doen't like you." She shared with the class that she has family members that are bi-polar (uncle, cousin) So maybe it runs through the family. As for taking her all i'll say is she likes a small class. hint!
She's really nice, but it's super hard. i got a C in her class. You really have to study hard and dedicate all your time to this class. THere's A LOT of stuff to memorize and you have to know the specifics of everything. You can't pass the class if you don't study.
AT FIRST SHE WOULD NOT CARE IF YOU WERE DONE TAKING NOTES DOWN...SHE WOULD GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE IT WAS VERY FRUSTRATING. THEN SHE STARTED TO GET BETTER AT...SHE IS NICE..BUT YOU DO HAVE TO STUDY REAL HARD...NOT EASY...BUT IT CAN BE DONE...SHE DOES ISSUE ALOT OF ASSIGNMENTS...BUT I DID LEARN BIOLOGY...
Seems like she wants you to fail....She sucks!!!!!
Didn't keep to her guidelines. cancelled classes alot.
Class started out with 45 students ended with 18. Her tests are hard and it felt like no matter how much I studied it wasn't enough. A lot of times she would say something and then want to correct herself. Many students were confused. Overall she is pretty helpful but a lot of times she just wanted to sit at her desk!! Ugh!! Take Pre-caution!!

Very hard course. She even admits that she challenges the students. Definitely NOT an easy class. It might be a good idea not to be a full time student if you're going to take this class, or take it with easy classes. You gotta study everyday to catch up.
CLASS IS KINDA HARD BUT NOT TOO MUCH YOU JUST HAVE TO KNOW YOUR STUFF TAKE GOOD NOTES AND READ THE CHAPTER...SHE VERY COOL I THINK..YEAH SHE COULD BE HARD AT TIMES BUT AT THE END YOU KNOW ALOT ABOUT THE HUMAN BODY.....LAB IS PRETTY COOL..HER TESTS ARE KINDA ARIGHT BUT IF YOU DIDNT STUDY YOUR GONNA FAIL IT...OBVIOUSLY...WOULD RECOMMENED HER.GOOD TEC
padilla was the worst teacher anyone can take. Her exams are confussing and in her letures it's just mainly power point. NO HELP very discouraging. Her study exam sheet NO GOOD can't understand what she wants you to study. Most of her study sheet are NOT on the exam, so don't break your head. GOOD LUCK on whoever takes her.
Padilla is hard but you learn a lot. She is nice and cares about students learning. She knows her stuff and she is the best teacher I've had. Read ahead of time and don't fall behind on material. Flowcharts were helpful- use the CD-ROM to reveiw material. Make sure you understand things well- set a side a lot of study time.
Padilla is the best teacher ever!! Lectures were interesting labs were hard but fun. She gives good notes and fair exams there is a lot of studying but its a tough class. The study lists are helpful- they cover everything that could be on the exam. The negative reveiws are not true she IS A GOOD TEACHER study alot & dont take other hard classes
Professor Padilla is pretty clear in her lectures though her exams are tricky because there are 5 answer choices and some of it are like combined answers.4 ex. answer c and b or abc and so on.Reference notebook is super hard because u have to analyze how the system work together to do a certain tasks.overall good class everyone passed in her class
Padilla is very nice. Her test are very hard. She gives a 100 questin lab and 50 question (including essays) and they are back to back. you can not fall behind in this class. Even if you study ahead of time it is still very hard. Its a lot of information. in a short period of time. It is very hard to study for her tests. With so much informati
Would NEVER recommend her. Doesn't know her stuff. Very unclear in her powerpoints. That is her whole class. Tests on things that she didn't even cover in class! Thank god i had the book and read it. MUST read book or will fail! I got a good grade and thank god ill never see her again!
This was a very difficult class. Mrs. Padilla is fair but the material and the tests are extremely difficult. You must attend labs in order to be successful and the lab manual was a must have. Don't think you can cram the evening before and do well. Lots of memorization with each topic building upon the other.
TOUGHEST anatomy teacher at elco and she knows it. I would not recommend her to any of my friends because lecture/tests were ridiculously tiring,lab/lecture tests were back 150 questions and lecture after the exam. The only reason why some students passed with a B was bc she messed up on grading their exams!few students passed w/b when they deserve
TOUGHEST anatomy teacher at elco and she knows it. dont take her, there are many other anatomy professors at el camino who you will have a better experience with. Take someone else who will give an 50-80 quest test rather than padilla's 150-180 q's....also most ppl drop her class...
I can't believe she's still teaching at ECC. I took her 4 years ago and she was terrible. She Lost our cat, so we lost alot of points. She was moody. Had personal issues she would bring to work. Dsyfunctional instructor who shouldn't be teaching.
Great teacher of all the physio teachers take her
I have never spent the time to write a review on a teacher before but Ms. Padilla was so wonderful that I am. Very helpful, very knowledgable and a very sweet woman. I just loved her. Best science teacher I have had!! Highly recommend taking her for Physiology 31. The subject is not easy but she is there to help the entire way.
Padilla is great! The class is hard and requires A LOT of studying. She is extremely helpful, all tests are multiple choice with a few essay, some extra credit ?s.If the majority of the class gets certain answers wrong she doesn't count them, if you happen to get it right extra points for you. Can't wait to take physio with her. Definitely recommend her
The hardest class you will ever take, but if you care about the subject, an absolute godsend. Padilla is a genius and it shows. The course is very expensive though (textbook, workbook, surgical tools). You will learn so much . She stays afterwards if you need help, and lets you sit in on other lectures if you need reinforcement.
Mrs. Padilla is a godsend compared to all other anatomy 32 teachers. First off, you don't have to fill in anything on the lab test (where spelling counts), you just have to pick from the options. She offers extra credit and the tests are not that bad as long as you study. Hello, its anatomy, pure memorization. I highly recommend Mrs. Padilla!!!
Her class is extremely difficult and fast paced. Not a minute of class is wasted. If you're not 100% committed to the class it is very easy to fall behind quickly. Outside materials are a must and are expensive when added up. If you're up to the challenge you will learn a lot from her. But you will have no life. Exams are brutal. You've been warned
There is a quiz every class meeting, so be sure to stay on top of things. Quizzes are tough, tests are tougher. Study and then study more. She is a great professor, very helpful and discounts questions missed by most of the class. She even dropped an entire quiz since half the class failed. If you study notes and book, you will get an A, no doubt.
This class is for motivated individuals. You need to study at least 20 hours per week for this class. Professor Padilla is so clear in everything, very helpful and knowledgeable about the subject. You MUST STUDY A LOT TO GET AN A IN HER CLASS. Take advantage of all the resources like open lab, LRC and her office hours and you will get an A. Work!
Okay, this class is incredibly fast-paced and every test feels like a final. There is a quiz every class meeting and a lot of outside studying is required. If you do not study, you will fail with flying colors! Padilla will put you to work, but she is so nice and clear! Take her if you're getting into the medical field.
What makes Padilla so "hard" is the fact that she DOES go over the general stuff in chapters and students believe that is all they need to know and get mad that the test is "completely different". We are learning anatomy here. No teacher has time to go over a 35-50 page chapter with you in two hours. This is why the class takes 20 hours per week.
I took her for A&P - I'm not sure what's going on w/ her but she is the most inconsistent teacher I have ever had. Never on time. Grades hw bases on how full the pages look I got a C- on first hw VA guide and A/B+ on two unit 1 tests. Not to mention there are numerous errors on every test. Very slow at grading homework. It's like playing a game:(
Don't even know where to start! Choose another teacher for anatomy. She's not accessible, can't answer question, has many errors in lecture &slides. She is NEVER on time. The class schedule was changed 4 times this semester. She was very unresponsive to email and often rude/demeaning if you were lucky enough to get a response. Her HW are AWFUL!
Best, but HARDEST Anatomy teacher there is at El Camino. I have learned so much from this woman. The material is clear yet can be very overwhelming when sitting in class for four hours. Work hard for an A you will know more than everyone else taking Anatomy 32 at El Camino! Her tests are fair. Stay motivated and don't fall behind!
This woman knows her stuff and you definitely have to know your stuff come test days. If you take her class, don't prepare for the quizzes, prepare for the tests. The quizzes are easy points if you've been studying! She gives homework that goes along with the material so be sure to balance it all out. Study over time not over night!
Only motivated students will pass this class. She weeds out the people that are not serious about the subject. Whatever your motivation is for taking her class, you'll learn a lot. Each test was divided into lecture and lab portions, 100 questions each with an essay portion. Quizzes were 15 points a pop. Total points possible was well over 1,000.
This class is a guessing game. I work really hard and spend 20-30hr/wk. Other than scantron tests, you never know how you will be graded. Tests have numerous errors and she often doesn't "have time" to teach/inform you of all the material being tested. The best way to describe it is a guessing game and I really don't like guessing for my grade.
I literally cried when this class was over. I made some life long friends here. Padilla is the best Anatomy 32 teacher you will take. This will come with a lot of hard work! The class is fast-paced so if you have other commitments other than school, you may want to reconsider taking the class. Study hard. She gives you a study guide. Know it!
Out of all the classes I have taken at El Camino College, this was the hardest one, hands down. However, the professor is so good! You will learn a lot in her class. You HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO self-study or you will not do too well in the class. Everything will feel overbearing but if you work pace yourself, you will come out of this class alive!
Great professor! She knows her stuff and she's very helpful. It's a hard class but if you do your work and study, you will learn a lot from this class.
Extremely difficult class. Lectures are all powerpoints. Her directions can be confusing but if you ask her questions she can be helpful. She makes mistakes but will fix them if pointed out. Have to study A LOT and go to open lab! Managed an A but was difficult to do so. She was not absent all the time like a rater said. She did miss one class.
She's an excellent teacher. The class is hard, no matter how you take it or who you take it with. You need to spend hours looking over material before lecture and after. Its a full time commitment. She can only go over so much material in one day so its your job to put in the extra work to pass. That means reading the book, going to open lab, etc.
So refreshing after Valle. Extremely useful class format. Checks for understanding. Expect a lot of work.
The easy stuff she tends to spend more time on and the harder stuff isnt reviewed enough.
I was really disappointed in this class. There isn't much teaching except reading slides, and she doesn't care much when students express their concern for the lack of clarity. The book is mandatory (and expensive) and on top of that you'll be using it to teach yourself. Pick a teacher who actually cares about the subject
Had a different prof for 34a. Bad time management, posted a lot of lectures online because she wasted a lot of in class time by not starting on time or doing lab all day. Plenty of errors on tests, in her lectures, and in answering questions. Unclear and redundant class work. Good attitude, nice person, just not a good professor.
of course this class is a difficult science course, were learning about the structure and function of the human body so I do not understand why people think "it's easy". Her exams are comprehensive so expect to read and UNDERSTAND the stuff. her lectures were always great and she was always up and ready so get ready to listen and take notes!
Did my pre-nursing@ECC. By far Padilla was my favorite. She actually WANTS you to learn and WANTS you to pass. Novel idea, especially after Anat w/ Valle who celebrates every time someone drops; Valle loves to weed students out of the medical field. but Padilla really encourages her students. Hard work, but she has you do some in class- time saver!
Anatomy is a hard subject in general, however its almost inevitable that a lab especially like anatomy would fall behind with the curriculum. Class gets cancelled, lectures take long, etc. stuff happens. However, Padilla won't let anything slide, the more behind the class is, the more jam packed the material will be later on. I am in this class currently and we are having exams every other week. It feels like a summer course, and it doesn't help that el camino schedules this class for four hours. Lectures become tiring and exhausting. This class with Padilla becomes extremely self taught and its as frustrating and stressful as any class can be. Would not recommend this professor for this course.
The worst class I've even taken. She doesn't care about her students. Tons of work, not helpful and requires use stupid connect for $85 plus the cost of textbook. Unless you're majoring in biology it does not make sense to take this class because the outcome will be only disappointment.
Got a lot out of the class but there is way too much class/home work- overloads with too many worksheets + online assignments to an extent where if you have other classes, it makes very tough. Class time is used improperly (too little time for lectures, too much time for labs)
Do not recommend her.. you're going to spend all your time on this class and you barely will remember something by the end of the course
I took her for 34A & 34B. It a super hard class no matter who you take. Padilla is super sweet but she will fail you no problem. I had to spend most of my free time studying. There's not enough time in class to get everything done. She's not the most organized so it can get frustrating. If your ready to work for it you can do well in this class.
Tips to getting a good grade in this class. -Record lectures -Ask questions about the previous material before class starts. -Dedicate 20-25 hours a week to studying slides, watching online lectures, and doing online hw.
Professor Padilla is great. She genuinely cares about her students and she gives help when she can. There are 4 articles and a final project, which are easy if you put in the time. The homework is online, so the physical textbook isn't needed; only the code is. If you study, an A is easily in sight.
Professor Padilla is very passionate about what she teaches and her lectures are very easy to follow and understand. What is required of her class is not too hard. It is challenging, but really interesting and informative. I highly recommend taking environmental bio or any other course with this professor!
I took this course while I was trying to get into a medical field. It was a difficult class for me, but Padilla was amazing. She was understanding and very helpful. I could always ask her for extra help. Even though I am no longer trying to get into the medical field, I'm happy I took this class.
Incredible teacher with a deep understanding of the human body. I do enjoy her lecture but their are too many assignments. Dont expect extra credit because you get what you put in. This class requires dedication no matter who you take it with.
MUST TAKE. I took Padilla for BOTH 34A and 34B, and this is by far the best decision I have made. If you have any questions, she always listens and is very good at explaining hard material. BEST PROF I HAVE EVER TAKEN. You will definitely come out of her class feeling like you learned so much. She is also super sweet and approachable.
I took Professor Padilla for 34A and 34B and I love her! She prints out notes for you so instead of spending time trying to write you can listen to her lectures. The notes have tons of pictures to help visualize what is going on. I definitely recommend her! The class is tough but she is great at explaining things and making sure you understand.
I highly recommend taking Padilla for 34 A/B! The class is challenging, but the way she combines A and P gives a better understanding of the body processes. She is one of my favorites and makes this hard class enjoyable! She clearly states what is expected of you from the beginning and has a lot of tools to help you learn and succeed on exams.
Professor Padilla offers her students many media to reinforce the knowledge that you have to digest. You dont have to buy a hard copy of the textbook since I survived with the connect account and the included smart book. The APHYS3B is a hard class itself so do expect to study effectively and efficiently.
This class alone is tough no matter which professor you take it with but I felt like she gives out way too much for a 4unit class. Her lectures are through powerpoints with over 60 slides per topic. Studying the slides alone won't give you an A. You have to read the book. Gives out a lot of stuff to finish which i personally didnt find very helpful
Padilla is such a nice person and cares about her students. I think she genuinely wants everyone to pass. Her classes are PURE lecture but makes A LOT of mistakes. She only gives 20 min to complete group work & grades hard. Her test are IMPOSSIBLE. they are so hard and her study guide is worthless. She needs to give more helpful hw.
Avoid online bio. Proctorio: invasion of privacy & technical issues. In unit wrap ups, certain topics were not mentioned and made up 50% of the exam. Impossible to work at your own pace bc something is due every day. Lots of either specific questions, trick questions, or "select all that apply" on exams. No clear grading criteria on discussion ?'s.
Professor does not set clear grading criteria. We have a semester project and she has not created any guidelines for the project. Posts youtube videos as lectures and calls it teaching. Very frustrating to pay for a class and then watch youtube videos when that could be done for free. Also sets exam dates 2 days before theyre due with no notice.
She's a good professor in my opinion. I'm one to not put that much effort into school and i wasn't afraid to fail because her work is easy. I would take her again. we did have a unit test regularly. she uses lock down browser , camera and mic is on at all times. tests are based off the readings and quizzes, just pay attention enough. no lectures..
I took this class during my summer semester, so of course expect work to be due everyday! The work itself was fairly easy just as long as you pay attention and do it on time. And for the tests, they're not hard as long as you pay attention to the modules and study beforehand. Science is my weakness, but I passed the class with a high C.
Extra for no reason. Unless you're a science major wouldn't recommend her she cares about her job and students but it can be overbearing. Her online assignments have many issues or glitches that unfairly take away points and if you retake them it averages for you and lowers your grade even if it isn't your fault
She does not give lectures so if you're not comfortable with subject be prepared to be on your own. she does offer one on one time but it's honestly pointless. We used a lot of links that didn't work and read multiple things from outside sources that just made the class unbearable. She does not Teach! I would honestly skip this teacher.
horrible professor, grades as if you should have a PhD and refuses to accept that college students are learning. do not take her unless you want to suffer.
Horrible. Currently taking her in person and she has Pearson make impossible tests that are unfair. She grades very harshly always. The average on exams is always low and she doesn't curve. Makes biology hell for no reason.
Terrible in every way possible. Doesn't know how to grade tests. EVERYONE complains about her. She is in no way fit to teach. if you are doing her irl class just know the average is always a d or a c. She doesn't curve that well either.
Horrible. Does not even make her own tests, the tests are completely different from all of the notes. Is rude and demeaning if you even dare to ask any questions. Do not take this class if you value your mental health.
Horrible teacher. Don't take her if you don't have to. She has no clue what's going on during labs, the lab tech has to correct her everytime. Mandatory lectures but the exams aren't even from the lectures, they're from pearson and she doesn't even make them or know the questions being asked. The average for exams was a D/C and curving doesn't help
She is horrible. Can't teach and she doesn't even make her own exams, instead she has the textbook generate them for her & they're unfair. Not helpful during labs and is overall a very unorganized person. Her lectures were so boring and she would remove so many points for missing class, even if it an excused absence. Avoid her.
This professor acts like it's her first day on earth, I've never seen a grown woman so clueless. The labs are a free-for-all, the tests don't correlate with the notes, and she doesn't bother to curve them. It takes her MONTHS to grade stuff. I had to study everything on my own, and going to the lectures was a genuine waste of my time. Never again.
Just avoid this teacher. Bad in every way. Especially because she doesn't know how teach. I asked her questions and she would be brief or don't know. Top 5 worst teachers I've ever had in my life.
You may be seeing a lot of bad reviews lately but that because there was a major cheating scandal, and a lot of people are butt hurt. In general she is a very sweet person, she's just not great at lecturing. The exams can be hard but if you read the textbook you'll do just fine. I would absolutely take her again if given the chance.
Unfortunately, this class was a very frustrating experience. The professor struggled to explain concepts clearly and often became defensive when students asked questions or pointed out mistakes. I didn't feel that lectures or office hours were helpful, and I ended up relying on YouTube professors to learn the material.
