Jesus is one of the seriously one of the chillest profesor at DeAnza. Hes really laid back but I still respect him a lot. He really go out of his way to help his student and make them to help them. Before each essay, he litterally outline it out on the board so that we can write the essay better. You must be stupid to not take this class!

Quintero is in all honesty the best teacher that I've had so far at De Anza. You can tell he loves to teach, and he's incredibly nice. He wants student to succeed, and develop as writers. He's willing to meet with students one on one and help; which is something a lot of teachers aren't willing to do. I'm taking his class now and enjoy it.

He is very helpful and justt wants everyone to succeed. Not an easy A but if you try and do the work your fine. Highly recommend him!

He makes you write a lot (duh) but he's really into what you write and he really cares about how you feel about your writing; he gives really deep feedback on how to improve and mold the things you're writing. I highly recommend taking his classes EWRT 211 or EWRT 1A. He is super super good teacher that I've taken in my winter quarter at De Anza College. The reason he is good because he is always there for you and always help you all the way through.

He cares about his students. As someone who was struggling with life, he would take time after class to make sure if I was doing O.K. with my personal problems. His approach to teaching is about people first, school second, which is unique and refreshing.

He is super chill and cares about his students. Isn't afraid to express what is on his mind (tends to swear a lot). Papers are an easy A as long as you actually work on it and have no grammatical or syntax errors. Class can be missed but I'd advise you show up to his entertaining class... you're missing out if you don't.

I really learned a lot from this class and opened my mind a bit more, much more than an English class. He is a relatively easy grader on essays. He does want everyone to succeed. There are a lot of reading assignment questions to help boost your grade. His eccentric and caring personality makes the class! Definitely not your typical college class.

Fantastic guy. He mostly focuses on critical thinking; he'll help you make connections between the readings he assigns. He helps as many people as he can. Let me just start off by saying I have never met a more personable, caring professor in my life. Not only is he a great english professor providing students with the confidence necessary to write, but he genuinely cares about his students in and outside of class. He devotes time to his students despite a busy life. His value is truly priceless.

Professor Quintero's class was the most significant education I received while attending De Anza College. Coming from a non-native English background, I always struggled to compose well-written papers. Not only was the English language a barrier, but especially formulating well-structured arguments, with which I have struggled since high school.

Quintero really is my favorite professor at De Anza. Please take him. The content he teaches is very relevant and interesting, and the way he teaches is hilarious. He makes every single class worth coming to. I've even started crying from laughing so hard a couple times. He also gives amazing feedback on assignments. Also helped me with my UC apps!

Professor Quintero is such an easy teacher. I always get A's in his essays, well 1 B on an essay. Overall, his class is not too hard, it's pretty easy. Just do your essays and you'll do fine. Last quarter, we didn't have a final for his class and we had tamales. I would take him again, but I'm done with EWRT.

Jesus was the most laid back chill professor I ever encountered. He was also pretty funny and his lectures would be unpredictable. His class is based on 3 essays and almost no work. This class is an easy A only if you actually put effort in your essays otherwise you will prob end up with a B

I would definitely recommend taking Jesus Quintero's classes. He is extremely helpful and approachable. He gives a lot of useful tips on how to achieve the highest grades possible. His grading system is very clear and if you follow all his advises, then there's a good chance of getting good grades.

Pretty easy class. There were about 4 essays and some other assignments that didn't require a lot of thinking involved. Class was more like thinking outside of the box and you'll pass. Very nice but not organized. Never knew my grade until I saw my transcript.

He was the best EWRT professor I had, and the most carrying, He is very funny and will make you want to go to his lecture. He doesn't give much HW if at all, just a few essays that he will point you in the right direction so you can get an A. The only flaw I'd say is that what he wants is not always clear at first, so make sure that you ask him.

Professor Quintero is a really funny and entertaining professor. He really cares about everyone and tries to to get all the students involved. He is also genuinely passionate about the material he teaches and tries to make his students not only better writers but individuals as well. He also gives solid feedback on essays.

Probably the best English professor you can take. Class is structured around 3 essays. Each week you meet twice and go over content for an assignment. Only downside is sometimes the class can feel rushed since assignments may be due the same day they're taught/assigned. But, the assignments are pretty easy. All books are free. Would take him again!

Easy A+, but you have to work for it. Lots of busy work, readings, responding to questions, discussions, etc., but very straightforward and doable. Extremely easy grader, around 4 essays all with 90%+ class averages. Has Zoom meetings, but they are optional. Very entertaining and kind professor who truly wants you to do well. Would recommend.

Quintero is very chill. The textbooks and himself give great advice for organizing an essay. this was his 1st time teaching SUM quarter so canvas was sorta disorganized. All of my 4 essays was graded a 90%+. just make sure you include everything he wants you to have in ur paper. HW is a lot of reading on how to do an essay & it was super helpful.

he's cool I'm taking him right now, its not hard necessarily, just feels like a lot of busy work. Decent amount of readings from books, and response/reading journals for you to write. He's really understanding of circumstances though.

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews recently because I took him in person and he is awesome. He has so much enthusiasm and really cares about every single student giving them a high-five. He is really smart and knows what he is talking about and you can always reach out to him if you need help. Overall one of the best teachers I've ever had.

Jesus, is a remarkably open-minded and humorous professor, maintains a laid-back and chill demeanor. While I enjoyed his classes, I noticed his grades based on english writing proficiency, which seemed unfair. Achieving an A requires hard effort, I recommend studying his writing style from his examples.

I took Mr. Quintero in person for EWRT1 and EWRT2 and he's probably the best professor I've ever had. Like others said he can be a little bit unorganized and unclear with projects sometimes but he's a great person and instructor and is very motivating. As long as you show up and try his class is an easy A and he's also really funny.

Fair warning, he curses a lot. His class wasn't like any other english class I've taken. More like a philosophy class really. But fun nonetheless I gave him a 3 (average) because the essays he makes you do are kind of hard because of the prompt, but ask him and he'll explain it to you. Goes off-topic a lot though.

The professor maintains a laid-back demeanor, but the course requires a lot of effort. While the lectures can be enjoyable, the grading is challenging. Using resources like Unstuck AI for study prep can be very helpful.

Most inspirational professor I think I'll ever take, truly cares about his work. His assignments can be confusing, but is really good with responding to emails and clearing things up. Very funny, laidback and interactional with class. Can drop assignments at the last minute but if you do a good outline of the questions he will give you 100%!!

Awesome professor: shows up to class when he wants, he daps me up at every sentence, and has a desire for all of his students to succeed. I suck at writing, but 12 weeks with him has made me improve a lot. He teeters on the brink of insanity & intelligence; You won't be bored when you come to class. Sit in the front-middle for optimal results.

Gives tons of work that each are long, but he doesn't care about late work and he grades rlly easily. He yaps a lot and tbh I wouldn't survive a class longer than 50 min. He's super nice and curses a bunch, but he goes off topic rlly easily and it's kinda annoying. I would rec finding an online class first but as a second choice, he's not bad.
