He knew each and every one of us including our names at the end of the semester. This instructor spread his passion of teaching to all of his students.

He was a great teacher! FUN! He kept the class relaxed but serious. Graded pretty easy.

He was very helpful with every essay. It was great that he got to every one of his students and he talks to them like they are real people.

easy class, no problems, just dont use the word 'you' in your writing and you'll be fine. if you do something wrong just revise it for full credit usually.great class, great guy

This class was so fun and Jesus was very helpful.

This class was very interesting. Not at all hard, but a little strange. Jesus picked good topics to discuss then write about. Not very hard. You simply have do you work and pay attention to the pointers that are given to you. Jesus is the best english professor that I've had at ARC.

This class was fun. Jesus was extremely patient with his students. I felt included in this class. My only complaint is that it's difficult to complete a three page essay in one night (but this was a 6-week course).

Very good teacher! Class material was all new for me, learned a lot. Variety of material covered. Doesn't assign homework, just attend every class period. Lots of group discussions on texts. Definetly recommend this teacher..if you work hard you will get a deserving grade.

Great Professor! Students have active participation in the learning, and lass time is fun and useful. Assignments not hard, but still challenging--your grade is what you put into it. Professor is helpful and clear, and classes are easy going but you get a lot of important info out of them. You can tell Jesus likes what he is doing!

I had him for fast track. He is genius in his teaching and makes the class interesting. Very clear in the concepts and requirements for essays and explains your grades. I would definately recommend him. To top it all, he's gorgeous ;).

Very good professor. Gave insight and techniques daily. Goal is to help the student improve drastically (grades harder, but with a good cause). Easy to communicate with and very structured. He treats all students with respect and provides excellent critical thinking skills. Probably the best English 300 teacher at the school.

I really liked him. He was very helpful. At first, I wasn't sure if I would like taking an English class, but this one was awesome. He was always helpful and very nice. I would definitly recomend him.

jesus is a good professor. Many say that he cant teach or that he's too hard, it's not the case. He's a good professor that will help you be able to write an eSSAY easily.

Interesting techer. High expectations, but generally pretty easy to please. Has his own book which helps alot. Uses different teaching techniques than other ENG professors. Overall a great teacher. An interesting teacher with his own methodologies. Quite a difference from your usual English ciriculum.

I took his online course and it was indcredibly challenging. He grades only 3 essays, 2 discussion forums, and the final so you really have to be on top of everything. He is very strict BUT all that being said he was very paasionate about what he does and although there is a lot of reading involved, he picks books that are interesting.

Awesome teacher. You will hate the book at the beginning of the class but will learn a tremendous amount and LOVE the book at the end. You mos def HAVE to do the readings or you fail. Do the essays and you'll pass. Attend class b/c discussions are great. By the end of the class you will all be like family. I guarantee it. Take him! He's awesome!

This professor is amazing. At first everything seems really intense, but later on the lectures become really enjoyable. It may seem like he expects too much of you, but he doesn't ask for anything that's impossible. Just do all of the essays on time, and try and do as much reading as you can out of the book.

This class was extremely hard for me. I thought about dropping this class on many occasions and taking it next semester but after looking back, it wasn't as bad as I made it. If I didn't procrastinate I probably would have enjoyed the readings.

Prof. Valle is an extremely smart person. He is there to help you when you are confused. He doesn't just give you an assignment and expects you to do it. He takes the time to go over it all and answer any questions one may have.

This was a really fun class! I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to take English in college.

Very challenging..Half of the people in my class dropped off.(If english is your second language, I highly discourage you from taking this class!) but he is a good professor and his class helped me alot. If you and easy grade don't take his class, if you actually want to learn something, take it.

People, this is an ADVANCED comp class - the instructions are spelled out, questions are answered promptly, and work is expected ON TIME. If this is tough, it'll take more than an AA to keep the job market from kicking your butts...

This is a hard class but you will learn a lot if you take this professor. This class had though me a lot..got one of the highest grades in class but i'm not planning to take him for the next levels..no thanx...but i'f you're really smart you can try.good luck

My favorite Teacher by far! I will be taking the rest of my english classes with him as my professor. My writing is extremely better because of his class. Everyone who doesn't like him, probably doesn't just because he is hard. That is because he wants serious students who want to LEARN!

This class was a 6 week summer class and it was online. The professor is straight to the point. You can learn a lot in this class or you can easily fail. There's a lot of work, but hey... it's an academic level class. Love it. If your lazy pick a different class!

This class made me become more organized. Professor Valle constructive criticisms helped me improve the quality of my essays. Additionally, his discussion board and video forums are really fun to do because I was able to interact with my classmates despite the fact this was an online class.

Professor Valle requires college level work and expects it from his students. He was helpful and fair, yet strict in his assignments. The class was tough, but fun. I learned a lot not only about literature and critical analysis, but about myself as well. It's a good class if you want to learn.

It was a hard class but he was very helpful anytime that you emailed he would email you within a day!

I took Mr. Valle for Engwr 102 and 301 so that alone should tell you I really liked him. He challenged me and actually made me realize that I love English. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn!

He is up front about his expectations. He is very thorough and interacts with his online class, unlike other online professors. He is very helpful and quick to respond to questions. He is difficult, but he also provides a fun and interactive learning environment. I wish I took other classes with him. Wonderful teacher!

Professor Valle provides challenging assignments that ultimately lead to better critical thinking skills. he exposes students to a wide range of conflicting ideas. A very demanding course, time and work intensive. Dont take a Valle class unless you've got time on your hands!

Hardest class ever taken but one of the most rewarding classes! He's a very harsh grader but if you take the time to speak with him on a regular basis about the class, he WILL cut some slack. His class is challenging but i left that class with better knowledge and a different way of thinking. He really is a great prosfessor.

This class was an online class. It is a challenging class and he is a challenging instructor, but the people that say he is horrible are just lazy. If you stay on top of the work, it is not that difficult of a class.

Professor Valle is an excellent teacher who will bring out the best in his students if they give him the chance. Do not take him if you don't want to work. If you want to learn and grow, this professor is your answer!

This was the most inspiring teacher and class I have ever had. Professor Valle will ask a lot of you, and demands the best from his students, but he does the same of himself.

This was the most amazing course. It was super intense and extremely demanding. I took his 6 week summer session online course. Make sure you are prepared to really work hard. You will be rewarded if you are up to the challenge. The course is really interesting and you'll get a good grade as long as you put forth effort.

High level college course and will prepare you to transfer to a UC if not better. Stresses the fact that if you do something, you should do the right the first time. 3 essays and the final, along with class participation is what makes up your grade. Always wants you to strive for better. Sometimes connected with HCD318 course (Puente Program).

Passionate instructor. Just read the books and you will do fine. There are six books, one essay, one presentation, and a final. Professor Valle isn't the most clear but definitely helpful.

Best professor I've ever taken, ARC is truely lucky to have such a brilliant gem. Courses are intriguing, thought provoking, & i highly recommend for those with a passion for learning. English course had a lot of group discussions, w/ unexpected deep topics. Native American/lit course was also a great experience. No other professors compare.

I like Prof. Valle's online class. I love the literature he offered. One important thing he said one day to online class, "I'm here to help you not break you." And he has been very helpful.

This professor is the best english teacher at ARC. You will have to put in the work and the effort to be successful in his course because it is hard. He will make you a successful writer. He is the best and he is extremely helpful. Flow his instructions completely and you will succeed!

Professor Valle is a very intelligent man. He is very well knowledged on various subjects and projects this onto his students. He is a tough grader but very helpful. He really cares for the success and progress of his students, but it is your responsibility to approach him. I learned A LOT and loved writing by taking his class.

Prof states in syllabus that 15-20 hrs/wk during summer is required for this course; I spent about 25 hrs on avg. Heavy reading, very specific writing assignments. Follow his instructions carefully and you'll do fine. While it was one of the hardest writing courses I've taken, the skills & knowledge I've come away with are second to none.

I really recommend this teacher, it might be hard but is worth it.

Will change your mind and perspective about the world. Tough class but no said college was going to be easy. Couple classmates did like him because of the amount of work assigned; however, I used what I learned in class in other class and in my everyday life. WORTH THE WORK

Prof Valle shoots from the hip. He won't hold your hand, yet when you email him for specifics, he is very open to make sure you understand what is being asked without giving up the bank. I learned allot, I mean allot, more than I expected!

Professor Valle keeps you updated on grading, reading assignments and on any changes to the course. In the 6 weeks we had of this online course, he was very specific as to what he looks for in a paper and a discussion post. Excellent feedback and a great instructor to have.

Professor Valle is a once in a lifetime professor. He assigns a lot of work with specific expectations but if you just follow the directions you will be fine. Communicate with him and he will help. The skills I learned in his course will absolutely help me in the future; well worth the work. Plus, he is truly cares about each student!

Valle is a great professor, you have literally everything to write available for you. the rest is up to you, do bad, its on you not him. You also have plenty of time for each essay. It takes more effort to fail that it does to pass if you simply follow directions.

Excellent professor makes grading rubric clear from the beginning. You have to have Grammarly Premium for this class. Do the work earlier in the week since he gives feedback, and correct your work once you get the feedback. He has an essay rubric you have to follow. Amazing class, but you really have to earn your grade.

From my perspective, Professor Jesus Valle is a more "social" teacher. He always encourages his students to open up, to turn to their partners and speak of what's on your mind. I believe this is good because it establishes comfort amongst fellow students and allows them to speak more freely, it allows them to preach their beliefs and true feelings.
